B. B.I would like to thank Leo , the Store Manager at Frien Barnet B&Q store. I thank Leo for his patience, knowledge, and exceptional customer care. Leo took his time to explain and find the best solution to resolve my bathroom floor tile issue. Leo looked at pictures and sold me the right tools and showed me how to use them His knowledge and customer care skills is second to none, 10/10. This was my first time visiting this store and I will come back again and recommend it to my friends. I thank God you were there and may God bless you , your family and your future.
J. M.I was offered a mask when entering the store. Polite staff and quite helpful. The garden section was very empty. Car park was fine. Didn't wait too long at the till.

Also known for its famous "double-whammy lobster pot" click and collect pickup desk: the door you come in on doesn't let you out, so you have to walk all the way down to the other end with your collection, only to be challenged for shoplifting at the exit! I've had so many good laughs!

I can guarantee that if you ask a member of staff for something they will just reply with we 'don't have that' because they can't be bothered to help.

Despite this, there are some nice staff and some staple products that are ok.
Just about anything of their own brand though is very poor quality.

He made it easy for me to find the right product and helped me understand what I should use. He has knowledge of the products, great customer service, friendly approachable. B. D.Always a pleasure to go here , I’m a local resident so I use this place all the time and it’s been here for many many years. Never busy and there always happy to help they have a trade Center here also, so if your a buisness you can also use this place there next to a lot of shops aswell as it’s a retail park. But above all I have never gone here and never found something I can’t find as I’ve always gone in and come out with what I wanted.

T.I had an excellent shopping experience with the retail member of staff & her name was Angela working on the paint department which she advised me to get the particular paint to decorate my house. She was briliant & very helpful. I tick all the boxes for her, & that's what I call outstanding customer service.
S. R.Lots of parking space and the shops were practically empty. I was visiting a few other shops in the immediate area so was in and out within 29 minutes. Good customer service in all stores. Will definitely visit again during the week.

I will definately go back in for more items. I find it a bit more comfortable than using one of the large builders merchants. Very relaxed.

I go there quite often as it's the nearest one to me. 4 stars only as the other day my online buying experience was not that great when it came to collection - long waiting time and one of my two products was not in stock, and I did not a clear message about that in advance - otherwise, I would have gone somewhere else.

Centralised system to call and check stock in different stores inaccurate so you must call each store yourself.
Must invest in stock computer systems & more staff on shop floor to avoid stores closing ...as I predicted with Homebase!

T. T.We’ve been to this store this morning and left with mixed feelings. The guy ath the paint section was pretty rude and acted like he is doing a favour (reluctantly) although I believe the job would be to help us.

He dealt with a manufacturer issues with a fair & just approach PLUS went out of his way to sourcing an alternative solutions when an immediate/direct solution could not be found! I was blown away with the amazing service received!!
Lee is an EXCEPTIONAL manager who clearly adopts a hands on approach & has clearly implemented lots of training & support with his staff & there is clearly great respect shown by staff.
The staff are now very positive, upbeat & there is now good team moral e.g. the staff acknowledge customers entering with a smile & no longer run in the opposite direction, when customers approach staff for assistance!!
The store is now clearly well laid out with clear signage - there are no boxes, debris or staff trolleys blocking customer access. Items are clearly priced & easier to locate. Social distancing & cleaning stations were/are in place!!
B&Q in Friern Barnet deserve an award for turning this branch around & OUTSTANDING service!!!

c. l.I had a great experience visiting this store. One lady in particular (whose name was Alice) was extremely helpful and attentive. I would recommend visiting this store based on her excellent customer service alone. She was very knowledgeable and seemed to be working very hard.

There are too many staff to name that I've dealt with over the years and I believe they deserve recognition; Antonio, Shane, Sam, Lorcan, Georgie and Marion, thank you to them and many more. P.The social distancing measures are firmly in place here and when you enter the store from the Tradesmen entrance (NB not the main entrance) there is an opportunity to sanitize your hands and wipe your trolley around with disinfectant. The store was fairly deserted when I went here on a Tuesday but there are plenty of helpful staff about. I got a bit confused by the arrows on the floor, and why they were pointing in particular directions but the staff seemed quite helpful, and it was a change to see so many of them. As well as buying everything I needed apart from the screws (I didn't think much of their screw selection), I was able to pick up a 'click and collect' order of some paint which I am using to help me past the time while we are in lockdown.
R. A.Usual B&Q. I've never queued for such a long time. Not only for getting into the store, but the queue for the tills was excessive. Took about 20 minutes to get through the queue. Yes, covid prevents adjacent tills to open, but surely as a hardware store they ought to be able to construct a barrier between adjacent tills to prevent cross contamination... just as they do elsewhere.
N.Service can vary depending on time and day but usually staff are helpful and polite, if not a little stretched which can cause delays. The store is well stocked and has always had what was needed.
N. B.No queue to enter post lockdown, plenty of signs to maintain social distance. Sanitisation liquids and wipes provided on entry, in store and on exit. Inside the store there are clear markings on the floor to follow a system. Needed a outlet of tools, sand and bucket, all were in stock. Glad I stopped at this store and got what I needed at a reasonable price.

N. A.As B&Q goes, its a well maintained store. The garden centre was anything but. It baffles me why plants are brought in and left to die with drought and sold as clearance. Doesn't make much sense. 🤔
S. A.I quite liked this branch of B and Q overall looking back. I was greated with a rude staff member to begin with, as I entered, I asked about the paints...wish I'd never. It was like he was too important to assist in my questions and was more interested in stacking shelves whizzing around in his mobile cherry picker being a complete grumpy toad with minus zero people skills. I over heard him speak to someone else....which was reassuring as he talked to them like he talked to me...RUDE.
I'm not sure what his problem is....he just seems angry and aggressive....I feel sorry for him and his family. We will pray for him.
This B and Q has a good selection of stock. And reasonably priced.
I found this branch was clean and tidy and enforcing strict Covid measures to keep everyone safe. Which was nice to see.
There was a nice chap there called Nick, who had the time, was patient and helpful. We discussed fireplaces. He is a credit to B and Q.
Also the staff at the trade point counter on that day. I didnt catch there names...sorry.
I will return to my local big B and Q for more bits as and when I need them.

Thought I'd try Friern Barnet as a last resort and there was a huge queue (about 20min wait in the sun).
Got inside however and found the Scotia trim I was looking for of which they had plenty of stock and lots of other options.
Will choose this store in future as it's a huge one!

D. S.Painfully slow queue in the carpark to get in, then a maze to direct you the first couple of aisles. After that it was fine. Note a week-end is probably the worst time to go. The gallons of hand sanitizer are a sight to behold
O. B.Good store with lots of products. Normally you have to do long queues especially weekends so be prepared. Free parking and more stores around including to eat. Better to look on the internet first if they have the product you’re looking for.

J. C.I had a great experience with one very helpful Polish lady in the flooring or kitchen department only for it to turn sour. I spent a few hundred on flooring and needed a cab but battery had gone on my phone and they were closing. The manager would have put a mother and my six yours old out in the dark cold retail park with no way to call a cab and with 10 boxes of flooring. Had I not refused to leave store without a cab book I would have been in serious trouble!!! Disappointing way to treat customers!! Let alone the safety aspects of the situation!!! I was taken back with the lack of empathy and consideration. They happily took my money though!!

D. W.A reasonably sized store that is well layed out and not as busy as some stores. Despite this it often seems difficult to find things. The check out always seems under staffed and I have never seen the same staff staff twice on visits which seems to imply they have a staff retention problem.

L.A variety of things in store, with a few sort after things only available on line such as bifolding doors with glass, which is a hassle because you have to pay a delivery charge and you can't get it delivered to the store. Big issue!. Also a lot of the staff really do not know the product they are selling. It was like the blind leading the blind in a lot of cases. If you know what you want, how to use it and you can pick it up in store, your in to a winner.
