Mark and Dan (and the team) are just simply fantastic. As a new business in the area, they have been so supportive in helping us access local help, they also have been really neighbourly with pricing. I will only go to them for my hardware needs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We have all become used to "sterile - have a nice day" shopping. The staff (my staff) at City Hardware do their utmost to be friendly and helpful and more often than not that will include a bit of sarcasm. They are NEVER rude or misogynistic.. If you cant laugh at yourself then I respectfully suggest another store

City Hardware has a fairly decent choice of products. I've been here a few times for my personal diy projects and there's always been professionals in to buy things. However, the place is a bit of a mess - untidy and unorganised. The people who work there do seem to know their store and can give advice but they are far from welcoming and come across as rude and not caring about their customers. One time, I saw two staff members having a very loud altercation with somebody on the pavement not far from their store.

Always friendly when I come in and knowledgeable, but they never seem to have any of the parts I need but are always helpful enough to point me where in London or online to get the parts. They are always full of trade people, so if they go here, the prices will be decent and they'll have enough stock.

A really great bunch of knowledgeable staff who are happy to share a joke and some great advice. It doesn't matter if you don't know the proper name for something they usually know what it's called and if they haven't got one, will get it for you. Their key cutting service is second to none and much better value than those located at or near stations. It isn't always necessary to have an original key as they have access to a computer application that will cut certain keys from the lock number provided.

First time i used city Hardware Today, They are absolute legends, i needed a custom euro cylinder made up to fit the keys from the broken cyilinder i brought in. Terry and his team worked there magic got the job done, where others wouldn't have bothered. Thriving, family run DIY shop. The Benschers sell hardware; screws, paint brushes etc. They have a locksmith, they mix paints and will order anything within reason. They also sell smaller gadgets, containers, ladders, tools. The staff are very helpful and often give advice on your decorating apprehensions and woes.

Very convenient when you're in need of tools or supplies, and for a small place they seem to always have what I've needed. Owners are are always flawlessly helpful, it's a nice shop to have around

Every time I come here it feels like a messy confusing shopfront, but they always have what I need. If they don’t have what I need then I would have been prepared for that as they’re a hardware store not an electrical wholesalers... guys were friendly enough and I’d visit again if I were in the area, prices are on the high side but that’s also expected.

You can have a look around here but the best plan is to ask for what you need. The owners are friendly and quick to get things for you. They offer good advice, especially knowledgeable about the quirks of Barbican flats.
