D. L.Last weekend, yet again, the boys at Travis Perkins in Parkwood were so very kind and helpful. I know my mum and I can be irritating with a very long list, frequent arguments over what to buy and general long-windedness but they are always so patient and gentle. Its so different from this big impersonal DIY stores where staff are either elusive or say things like 'If it's not on the shelf, we haven't got any'. They sell all sorts of bits and bobs in their shop, like some long bits of metal we needed (can't remember what they're called!) and even real air bricks. We've had a lot of fun and games trying to fit long pieces of wood in the car but the Travis Perkins always use so much energy and initiative to get us packed up safely. Even when they are busy, they always make time to help us properly. For a ten minute drive out of town, you can actually get the sort of old-fashioned customer service and individual attention that is really hard to find these days, especially for people like my mum and I who know next to nothing about wood! Highly recommended.
