V. H.Lovely staff - so helpful! They offer great advice and can cut the wood to size for you. Also fab countryside location with lovely birds around (to whom the woodyard is very kind). This is the only place we'll come for wood for sure :-)
M. T.Been here a few times now and staff have always been helpful. The timber is both cheaper and better than your nearest DIY store. They stock more and a larger variety of sizes and have larger stock levels.
If you want retail service.... Clean floors, bright lights, tarmac car parks and an assistant that knows nothing about timber B & Q is your place.
I'm shocked to read a review about poor quality.... In my experience ( unless for delivery) you pick it yourself and its always been good, not only that but you can have it cut to size. I've also had extra lengths on a delivery when they have questioned any quality themselves.
This place has just about everything I've ever needed and I'll certainly be returning ( for the umpteenth time).

M. A.Good choice of softwoods, outdoor treated wood and hardware. They also have a small selection of hardwoods and AFAIK you can order pretty much anything.
It's a popular place so it can get busy on Saturdays and sometimes it is difficult to get through on the phone.
However, staff are helpful and friendly and offer a cutting service for the wood.
Delivery charges are reasonable.
Unfortunately, they aren't open on a Sunday but you can't have it all!
J.I've been getting my wood from here for many years and always been very happy with the service and quality. I do wonder however, why they don't put the prices on things like they used to a few years back in the other location just down the road. It would be really helpful and avoid asking busy staff the price of what you want.

R. P.Not your average timber yard but have excellent stocks of planed and rough soft woods, hardboard, plywood and mdf. They also normally have a small amount of hardwood available. The team that run it are hard working, knowledgeable and, in my experience, patient and friendly. Pricing is very competitive. Nothing is too much trouble; no order too small. Great place if you need timber.

R. W.The guy who runs the place is an absolute pro and is ridiculously helpful. Never done much woodwork before and he was really helpful. Went back a few times to get more wood and cut them to perfect size for me to make a “floating draw shelf”. Don’t go to b&q for any of your wood, fixings, paint or anything to do with wood
N. H.Great place for service I required a sheet of plywood to be cut to size from 8x4 and William was great not only cutting the correct size for me he carried the largest piece while I carried the smaller pieces to my car.
Which was some distance away I was very great full for his service.
A. L.I ordered eight 6ft x 6ft fence panels, which I couldn't find cheaper and such good quality anywhere else . These were delivered the next day after ordering and I was unable to be there to receive them. The delivery driver was fantastic, nothing was too much problem for him and the panels were placed by him in my garage securely and safely. I would recommend this company and their, prices and service to anyone. Alan and Anne.

A. H.Why oh why would you go anywhere else. If you need timber and haven't yet found this gem then you owe it to yourself to get there now. The timber is either first quality, in which case its straight and undamaged (unlike the warehouse diy stores) or its seconds, in which case its a bargain. Either way, the prices are cheap and the staff are helpful. Don't be put off by the trade look of the place, there is always advice available. Just exactly what you want from a wood yard.
