The supply is good. Staff will insist on helping even if you have no interest in being helped. Will fail at translating inches into cm, then will usher you out for you "not explaining it properly" and will say that you will not find what you are looking for "that way". Felt a bit harrassing. Update: I found what I was looking for an hour later at TradePoint at the end of Botley road. Don't let them discourage you, the world is large, you have other options.

This shop is essential to our lives! Living in a modern home there is a large variety of light bulbs but this shop has just the one you need. I used to try and get the required bulb from the internet but could quite often get one slightly different. Take an old bulb to this shop and they will have a replacement. And it is not just bulbs - look at the list!

Don't let the abundance of LED signage confuse you about this store - it is excellent, with a good range of items and helpful staff. It is far more likely to have the things you actually need instead of a certain hardware store chain that mostly sells patio ornaments. My recent purchases have included a hex key set, a metre ruler, a swatch watch battery and some small strip lights - all reasonably priced. They also stock paints, chemicals, electrical fittings and plumbing parts. I only wish I had tried it sooner.

This excellent independent hardware shop will save you many journeys to out-of-town electrical and tool suppliers for lighting and electrical fixtures, tools, audio video connectors and home/office odds and ends. The staff are knowledgable and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. If you don't know about this shop you should!

Upon going in this shop, attracted by a window display of alarm clocks, I bought one for £7.99. I decided to have a look around to see what else they stock. They have a good selection of all sorts of items: batteries, glues, cleaning materials, light bulbs, AV & IT cables, mobile accessories, locks, plumbing, electrical, hardware, hand & power tools, gadgets, torches - and they also cut keys. Although the shop is small, it has a basement with a lot of different items, all well-arranged and tidy. The shopkeeper seems knowledgeable and very willing to help. The prices seem modest. It has apparently been going in Oxford's city centre for 7 years. It looks set to continue as a handy source of bits and bobs. I think it is a worthy successor to Gills.

Though it might not look as fancy, this is without a doubt the best electrical store I've visited in Oxford. The staff are very knowledgeable, and were happy to go the extra mile in assisting me with a home project I'd been working on. They provided all the necessary electrical parts, and patiently advised me on the next stages of my project. This was all done for a VERY reasonable price. I will certainly be shopping here again for all my electrical needs.

INCREDIBLE professionals!!! I didn't expect to find what I was looking for, because is very unusual. It was the bolt that holds the camera on the tripod. They didn't just have it, they found it for less than 10 seconds!!! WOW!!! I was very impressed! I wish them all the best!
