Reviews of B&Q Peterborough
L. C.
A very large b&q. Ideally located just a few metres from the main dual carriageway. I wasbpleased with the shopping experience. There isn't much that stands out, but there isn't anything that would deter one from returning either. Good stock, standard prices and a few sale items. It does what it is expected to do.
P. D.
B&Q is very good shop to buy flooring materials. It’s reasonable and you have a plenty of choice. Ronnie the salesman in Peterborough B&Q helped me a lot to buy laminated flooring and luxury vinyl click. He is a very knowledgeable person, I just showed him my house plan and he knew how much packets I need for the full house flooring. I highly recommend B&Q and the salesman Ronnie.

You can find everything that you need for home.
You can find a greater variety of tools on site or online usewell.
It's a big free car park on site.
T. B.
Just great to have this store available 8pm closing. Get what we want at reasonable price. Do a job during the day, find out need DIY items, can go there. Majority of the time item on the shelf. Saves us ordering online. Staff this Saturday evening were very helpful.
m. e.
Had everything I needed on my list... Shovels, chainsaw, tarpaulin, rope, cement. Very relaxed atmosphere in the store as well... Staff answered all my questions when I couldn't find what I was looking for and knew the locations straight away. Would recommend and will go back when needed
B. W.
The manager (Jamie) was exceptionally helpful and arranged for some flooring to be brought over from another branch to complete my order. Very pleased with the service from all of the staff .
S. V.
Great to deal with,
Click and collected my order.
Everything was present and correct, and in good condition.
Car park has spots for trade vans to park by exit, which is good also
P. M.
Big store, lots to choose from, 1 annoying thing though, the building section is a long way from the check out desks, so if like me you have a trolley full of ballast and cement, it's a pain having to drag it so far, especially when there's a trade counter nearer which can't take your money unless you have a trade account.
That needs addressing
M. P.
Things you want easy to find normally, but staff helpful put you in right direction
S. O.
My favourite DIY store in Peterborough. All staff here appears to be very polite, friendly and always ready to help customers. Keep it up ladies and gentlemen. Cheers!
T. M.
22/08/22 I bought flowers early in the morning and Yasmin served me quickly and pleasantly. Every time I have been to Peterborough B&Q, I have received quality service. Great job!
S. J.
Not a bad DIY store, but like a lot of things these days, it's worth having your phone out and checking if it's cheaper online before grabbing it (as sometimes it's cheaper to order from their online site than their own store)
Ultimately not a bad place to shop, and the staff I did approach and ask questions from were polite and really helpful, which allowed me to grab the stuff I needed to get the job done.
T. M.
Lee and Dave delivered my fences, concrete and posts. Couldn’t be more helpful. Can’t speak for the rest of the team and products good value but would recommend purely for the these guys!
t. s.
Staff as usual at b+q Very helpful .it's a big store with just about every thing you need 4 DIY.
C. J.
Everything I needed and some amazing bargains. Staff were helpful and the service was quick
D. H.
Useful but can be pricey on certain items where they could be cheaper at other local stores, always check.
M.
Great place for all your house hold building needs everything under 1 roof, only negativity is bit hard to find a staff to help you find the item you can’t find your self.
S. W.
Phoned up at first to enquire if they had my product, a very nice man went and searched for me. So travelled down to get it.
R.
Cheap, but problems ordering and getting what I paid for. Spent 1400 on kitchen stuff and just didnt come, still waiting 3 months later. So be vigilant with the deliveries
J. W. (.
A tonne of new products, sections and isles. If your home is a doer-upper get on it, at B&Q.
M. C.
Good selection, used self checkouts, no queue, very pleased with trip found all what I wanted.
k. j.
Usually the same, you want something in particular, and they haven't got it, several things this time, but what can you do.
I do get slightly annoyed with B&Q, lots of all sorts, but not what you want or need.
T. J.
It’s a B&Q much changed but seem to work. Toilets no stars inadequate! The shop had what I needed.
R. E.
Helpful staff found what I wanted very easy and reasonably priced
G. N.
Went a couple of times in the last few days.
Quite a big store, always lots of parking to choose from. Clean, well stocked up. Great selection of plants.
The staff are an absolute delight, nothing’s too much trouble.
C. P.
Nicely spaced out store. Felt like it was missing a lot of stock however. Also the customer service could be improved. Noticed customer's struggling to find what they where looking for and staff more interested in idle chit chat with each other rather than recognizing they needed help. None off can I help you. Not really felt welcomed.
K. “.
Friendly staff, helped me find what I needed and pointed out deal options so I didn't overpay
M. D.
Had a good selection of tiles and adhesives. Everything I needed for my current project
C. C.
Last time I went the range was very large: the garden centre is in my opinion probably one of the top three in Peterborough (in size not quality). The homeware section also has a large variety of things. It's like a Costco or Ikea for hardware. It's pretty good but boring when you stay.
J. G.
Just got my plumbing items from there good prices
J. W.
Good shop to get your diy but often can't find things I need and never any staff when you need them
P. C.
It's a large B&Q stocking most items you will need
J. O.
Amazing place for building you get crazy with a loads options that they have .
E. J.
I bought a bbq this week. I needed help to get it on the trolley and the chap kindly ran it through the till and into my car.
This is how customer service should be.. thank you 😊
D. A.
Nit too crowded and you can buy most diy items, if they don't have it there, the staff can order it in for you.
Considering the number of people who visit during the opening times, it was quite clean.
A. N.
Unexpected sale for my Christmas tree today 50% off sale!
P. J. L.
I went in today to purchase paint and wood flooring for decorating my room. I must say the staff were every so friendly and helpful, I felt like although they were professional I felt like I was talking to a mate. They mixed the paint for me that I needed and recommended the right paints for me and where to find what I needed.
Also there's a worker on flooring called Mark who was ever so helpful, I didn't have the exact measurements for my flooring but we made this into light humour and he assisted me in how much I will most likely need with the measurements/estimates I went into store with. He made sure I knew what I was getting and gave the best possible advice I could get, sorted out my delivery and made me know what I was buying.
10/10.
J. G.
I called advance for click and collect and was in and out within five minutes. The customer service assistant recognized my disabled needs and was courteous, efficient and friendly.
L. B.
Huge store, but didn't have a lot of stock choices, especially in the home decor section.
A. B.
Good stock of all the items I wanted. Block paving, sand, cement and a tarpaulin.
Easy to park. All good.
Z. M.
Not bad but now you see lest products in shelfs like before
K. R.
Excellent customer service. I'd gone for a refill for my gas bottle for the BBQ. Every member of staff I conversed with was extremely polite and helpful.
C. T.
Nice displays. Excellent car park
P. K.
Very good shop 👌 and nice service 👍
P. W.
Very good. Click and collect. Items ready on trolley, fast processing and away
S. T.
Very nice store. One of the larger stores. Normally well stocked.
s. b.
Wow getting expensive
A electric 3 pin plug cost £3
T. B.
Just a quick coffee, nice little cafe, good service
F. T. S.
Thank you so much Tony for helping me and been so patient when I didn't know the name of any of the things I wanted. But you where very helpful and kind. Thank you Tony 😊
K. I. A.
Good quality products but quite expensive
J. N.
Great store must have everthing you need for any job
R. A.
Everything you need,helpful staff..
H. k. S.
All goods are available here in one roof and prices are not high but also affordable
M. P.
It could be cheaper, but when you renovating house you can find everything you want
K. H.
Great size store and well stocked, love the self serve tills too, always find what I need in there.
W. T.
Quite a big store with the usual selection. We noticed the disabled parking bays looked a bit awkwardly set out. However, access around the store is easy and we have always found it quite simple if we need to return any un-used items when renovating.
J. E.
Was looking for a particular test pot of paint but it wasn't on the shelf. The assistant was extremely helpful in finding one for me from the stock
F.
Nice big store with plenty of stock whenever I have been in. The staff are pretty good & friendly. There's currently staff on the door for Covid measures which is good to see. On the downside there never seems to be many trolleys around and whilst the car park is large, it's not particularly well set out for larger vehicles.
S. M.
Sits quite high on the price range for most things which I'm willing to forgive due to having a physical store to enable browsing and comparison.
However, the last few times I've been they've not had what I've needed.
J. F.
Usually always manage to find what we want and on the odd occasion we don't the staff are always very keen to assist and very friendly.
c. s.
I visited your shop yesterday, and Joanne, (I think her name was) who was sorting the plant delivery, was wonderful. In times of such stress and isolation it can take one interaction to affect your day. I feel lucky that she helped me, because she listened and assisted above and beyond.
A. A.
Good place for your DIY
J. G.
Overall I was happy with my click and collect but did have to wait a while due to only 1 staff member covering customer service and the click and collect. No offer of any help with my large order.
M. G.
I had to write in to praise Angela, who helped me when I brought back a lawnmower that had stopped working, I had no receipt, and she had to look for the barcode to see the price as they no longer sold it. She never doubted my word and was happy to give me a credit not so I can go back in with my husband to purchase a new one.( I’m interested in a petrol one) She then advised me as to which one would be suitable for my size garden, and explained what I needed to purchase extra for it as I’m the one using it, she was kind and happy to help. So refreshing to encounter a delightful shopping experience thanks to Angela I came away happy knowing that’s the reason why I always shop at B&Q.
O. R.
Windows accessories short products offer.
E. M.
Staff were helpful and everything was great :)
s. R.
Great service even with the current climate,
I was in got what I wanted also had a look about and was out no hassle at all. The staff are very nice and willing to help.. parking wasn't an issue and you could see the ease for the tradies with there own department to go to save waiting and other struggles.. over all really good store couldn't fault it if I could
T. P.
Normally well stocked, but believe pandemic has had supply issues as much was out of stock for what I needed with no expected delivery date. Also wanted to purchase a shower unit, but unable to view display as area cordoned off. The sales staff weren't that interested in helping me anyway. Had to go to a competitor who had what I needed.
s. s. c.
Great store has a good range of products but I wish the under cabinet lighting was on show
A. L.
Great stuff there isn't much they don't have great shop
M. N.
The store had stocked shelves and helpful staff at check out.
M. R.
Place is ok I find what I need to my diy projects.
D. N. J. D.
Huge store. Has everything we have ever needed.
D. Y.
Took ages to find staff to help find the correct "jig saw blade" looking at a wall of blades with hardly any helpful diagrams or description to ascertain which was suitable.
Queue was long to check out before they put more staff on to aid the flow.
S. H.
Massive store with a great selection, plenty of offers, large free parking and surrounded by lots of other shops on the retails park. Really worth the visit as this store is very large with lots of stock, nice help-full staff too!
T. P.
Always excellent prices. Little slow on doing a couple of wood cuts. Had to wait about 15-20mins to get the one and only person over to do the cuts as he was on his break and yet when he came over said he was finishing work in 5 mins... Seems a little odd to have a break so close to finishing. Anyway, got cuts which is great as it is free for the first 4 cuts so can't complain too much. Paint is cheaper than Screwfix for a change!
M. L. B.
Good price & readily available item
R. H.
I love this store. It has almost everything you could possibly want at a reasonable price
A. P.
Everything you can possibly need for your DIY project, garden or tools. Sometimes I think I visit this store too much.
C. C.
Great value DIY and home refurnishing materials. Also, check out Trade Point
m. h.
Great products but some of the staff don't know much about the products sold and instead of guessing (which what happened to us ) they should send us to someone who does. We were sold the wrong product and then had to take it back for an exchange thinking that what we were told about the said product was indeed true. It was not.
G. J.
They always have what I need to do the job and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
G. B.
Same as every other b &q just that this one has a Aldi built in to it plus a retail park
J. S.
Always plenty of stock. Staff are always happy to help. Found what I was looking for quickly, paid quickly at the self checkout with no queue.
D. M.
Good place but could do more
P. C.
Excellent service house old items
s. t.
My appointment with Juliette this week was professional, friendly and knowledgeable She gave me every assistance in finalising my new bathroom plan. Would recommend her to anyone looking for help.
A. E.
They tend to have stock in. Bit more expensive than Wicks or Screwfix but I needed stuff today. Got what I wanted and left. Easy.
L. D.
Great value, service and quality
A. B.
B & Q has pretty much everything you're going to need to do those little, and not so little jobs around the house. From timber to power tools, they aren't excessively expensive. They may not be the cheapest but they are certainly one of the most convenient diy stores around. You can order much of what's required via diy.com and pick it up within the hour.
L. G.
It's a B&Q. If you been in one you pretty much been in them all.
m. c.
Lots of choice but something's were expensive and the store wasn't to busy at 10 in the morning..
M. W.
Overpriced compared to competitors. Despite riptions of part I ordered not to the standard. Customer service was good though. Really helpful.
K. D.
Best DIY store for all your building and home care. Gardening and DIY projects. Everything you need all under one roof. Value for money
H. J.
B&Q is the same as every other branch.
Like a lot of places, stock levels can be somewhat variable. So best check online before visiting, if you're wanting something specific.
J. H.
Very well laid out store and extremely helpful staff making my visit to your store very enjoyable and pretty stress free . Thank you
S. T.
I stopped at the B&Q Peterborough to pick up some bags of multifinish plaster that at the time of writing is quite hard to find. I had checked in advance and new that they were in stock and surely enough, I was able to pick up the quantity I needed. The staff were very helpful and went the extra mile and even gave me some polythene sheeting to cover the bags while loading them as it was raining heavily. Overall, I was very happy with the customer service at this branch.
J. W.
Hard to share my experiences since i am trader and it's only natural that i would praise trade point @Peteborough. Sure, naming best staff members i have to mention all knowing Bob (plumbing section), who is a legend, Alan who is simply amazing (years of experience) kind and amazing ladies like Sharon and Jennifer, Carol who always welcomes you with a smile 😁
Everyone is doing their best and that's how it suppose to be.
R. P.
Needed some replacement screws for a bbq. Javid was super helpful in helping me find the right size
G. C.
Staff always very helpful
R. M.
Very helpful person on the trade counter, it ment I was in and out in 30 mins rather than 2 hours if trying to find things on my own.
D. T.
Excellent store with everything you need under one roof.
Staff are approachable and usually very knowledgeable.
Plenty of on site parking.
The clincher for five stars - their cutting service. 8' x 4' sheet of ply and a 6' x 3' estate car. All cuts accurate and square and very clean. Cut items went in rear of car and didn't even have to drop back seats. Worth paying a bit more than Wickes just for the convenience.
M. K.
Staff are always happy to help.
C. S.
We received excellent service today from a very helpful staff member (JR). She was very patient, understanding and cooperative. She persisted in trying to find what we wanted, and was most accommodating when I changed my mind! It's very reassuring when a member of the public can go to a place where such service is provided. A credit to your company - thank you!
F. O.
Big enough for general D.I.Y and trade items to complete the usual household project. The layout is okay and the staff are friendly and helpful. The only area of improvement is the discount calculation B&Q use for trade account holders but thats a general brand comment
G. R.
Not too busy, very spacious.
G. B.
Very helpful staff but the store carries a much smaller range and is not always stocked as well as it should be. But very useful DIY and the staff do make up for the store.
K. T.
Great store. Lots of choice. Worth visiting
m. b.
Everything you need for decorating can be found under one roof.
M. J.
You can find what you need for your home
A. B.
Has a large selection of any house hold or outside needs, so if you're redoing your living room of kitchen or even a bathroom, B&Q would have the stuff you need, i would I highly recommend going there for any fireworks as they've got a HUGE!!! Selection from massive fireworks which an older generation may enjoy to teeny weeny fireworks for the younger ones who don't like very loud noises. I hope I'm helpful
S. F.
Its B&Q. what do you expect. Didn't have what I was looking for. Which was a pain. Something to do with changing suppliers of the item I was after I was informed. Possibly.
M. S.
Not the best customer service. Hardly any staff around. Poor stock holding. Is useful in certain cases, such as when you're having panels/sheets cut to size other than that wouldn't recommend.
N. A.
Visited today to buy a few bits which I struggled to find but the staff was well organised and mainly Laiba helped me with all I needed without wasting any time and even helped me checkout quickly. Thanks Laiba for the great customer service 5star worker.
A. J.
I waiting there for 10 min before someone come and help.
C. F.
Large store, staff r very helpful
s.
They sell just about everything. Big place. Hard to find staff sometimes. Good value.
J. B.
Never has what I need. Have to go on line.
c. m.
Great place for DIY people.
L. K. M.
I have to say, I am constantly relying on household DAY goods and gardening goods from our B&Q store.. Their on floor sales and customer service staff are Always Helpful making my shopping experience enjoyable and achievable. .. Overall, Excellent place to do your home goods shopping. .
R. B.
Thank you Ewa for very good service today at Peterborough B&Q(3.11.2021). Ewa helped us(3sisters) to find and mach(blend) colour for kitchen cabinets paint. Thank you.
j. b.
Unlike some customer s... We had help when wanted, polite and took us right to the products we needed.
Another time we placed an order on a large sander, due to no stock.
Phoned when in store and no problem in fetching it.
So far good customer service... We rate them 5 star s.
M. G.
I spend a fortune in here as currently doing a lot of diy in the house. You can get everything you need and the staff are always helpful too.
L. V.
It's a DIY warehouse so everything you expect. Staff are always very helpful and friendly
G. P.
Was going to buy a roll of wall paper. In B & Q Newcastle Upon Tyne.
However, got a fantastic roll, in the end of stock, free basket, saving £22. In Peterborough B& Q.
M. A.
Helpful staff if can find one..... Good quality... Good spacious parking.....less crowded
m. k.
The products are good in store but if you have a problem with anything finding someone to help you seems very hard.
Few years back bought a bathroom suite ,and had to keep returning because they could not find anyone to get my bath of the shelf.
Fine if your good doing D I Y jobs but for a novice like me you need some help and advise.
Positive side parking is free plenty of spaces ,and it's a very big store with plenty inside ,and has many good deals on paints bathroom suites.
M. D.
Not very happy this time, was looking for a particular type of screw, I ended up purchasing what I thought was closest to what I needed, but purchased some off amazon anyway, just in case.
C. P.
The staff today went above and beyond to help nicely well done in the plant shrub area x quality of plants good price excellent
D. C.
Everything I needed was easy to find. In and out with no nonsense. Staff very helpful.
M. R.
a big b&q for sure with lots of products. but there tends to be very long lines at the tills. Also 80 present of the time the cutting saw is not in use as there is nobody around to operate it, the staff just lie and say its broken like the ice cream machine at McDonalds, which can be a massive pain in the arse. I have literally bought my saw and cut wood in the car park before on multiple occasions.
G. N.
They sell the batteries that are reusable but they dont sell the battery that will reusable.
A. R.
Plenty to look at , if you have a full wallet then there is lots lots to buy. The staff we spoke too very helpful & polite.
R. H.
It's got everything you want .
M. N.
We visited B&Q Peterborough a couple of times this week, we wanted to buy interior doors, paint for a kitchen. I was so impressed with the help we received in all the departments we went to. I have pulled all the muscles in my leafy lag and am hobbling about in a fair bit of pain. Whilst picking the paint the guy went and got me a chair, which was really very much appreciated. We were helped in the door furniture department. I was impressed that each department were equally helpful, we weren’t fobbed of. Well done B&Q Peterborough
O. M.
Went to this store a week ago as I needed a specific nut to fit my son's stabilizer wheels on his bike. Was served by Jane who was extremely helpful in assisting us in finding the right fit nut as there was so many and only 1 would be the correct one. A credit to the company, will happily visit this store again.
C. W.
Had items to return. Service very quick & easy. Not many customers wearing masks although quite a few people shopping.
m. s.
Went to look at Patio Sets. Asked an assistance Nigel for help and he got a trolley and we tried the box for the table in my car. Was just too big. He suggested we look on line to order the product. He sorted out the order and was very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for Nigel. He is to be commended on his help and attitude towards the customers.
N. A.
Great b and q , lots of parking outside. Great helpful staff. Perfect for all diy needs and has all home furnishings too.
S.
Decent parking with trolleys available at the entrance though you need to look for the larger trolleys designed for larger items sometimes.
Inside has a large selection to cover all the bases with prices ranging from cheaper to expensive and branded. Overall things tend to be on the pricey side and soon adds up.
Self scan available along with a loyalty scheme. Staff seem friendly enough.
I find myself using this place as opposed to others for the sheer size and choice.
P. S.
Often go shopping there. A good variety of garden stuff, home improvement, including tools, paints, bathroom, kitchen and more.
M. H.
A massive place and if you need DIY goods, they have it all, however if you cant find it be prepared to look as staff always seem to be few and far between
J. M.
Large stock available and service is good. Only gave it 3 stars because of their change in policy for their over 60's discount (only available for garden supplies) which means less well off people who live in flats or have no garden no longer benefit. I feel this is discriminatory. I wrote Customer Services an email to state my views 2 months ago and they haven't even had the courtesy to reply.
Y. M.
A store where you can find anything for your house and work mostly they very good in tools and price is reasonable as well
P. C.
Good range of stock for the beginner, to the most ardent of DIY aficionado to improve your home.
M. F.
Always has what I need although they have a tendency to move items around so if repeat buying it makes life a bit harder. Till queues can be an issue at busy periods.
T. “. M.
B&Q Peterborough had everything we needed in it to replace our lino in the bathroom but I didn't know what to use when replacing it so I asked one of the staff (Ryan) and he had all the knowledge on this subject I could have asked for, he recommended the product for the job and gave me a couple of brand options rather than pushing one brand on me which is nice not to have someone try to sell you the most expensive item, if I need to do more flooring I will definitely be coming back here and speaking to Ryan
K.
Excellent shopping experience. Very controlled and smooth flowing for shoppers, no hold ups but at the same time you can see the staff have your safety in hand. Very smooth and professional 👍
W. P.
Very busy very few people wearing masks and lots of items out of stock especially the building materials
J. U.
Stocks the widest variety of supplies than most other similar businesses. It has reduced during the pandemic, but still more comprehensive then their competitors locally.
P. C.
Great store of convenience in these Covid times. Just two developing points: The wood cutting machine service is not always running and second the safety gear should be displayed next to the tools it relates to, i. e. Dust masks next to power sanders, be it the maks themselves or a sign for masks. This would really help toward customer's health and safety.
D. H.
Typically an shed shop, good range of DIY Products, displayed kitchens & Bathrooms but don't provide a fitting service anymore. But have everything to do it yourself, can be long queues at the checkout. Prices not too bad.
S. S.
Very busy, but quick to be served at checkout. No problems.
Z. P.
Highly recommend the guys at the Kitchen section in Peterborough. We had Alex as our designer. He was very good at helping us choose a kitchen and suggested different options if we were unsure. Thank you so much for all your help!
S. h.
Stocks most things, best to know what you want and just get what you need. Otherwise you'll always find something you'll pick up due to an offer that you may well not have intended to buy
G. B.
Everything I needed was in stock. Staff helpful
B. S.
Helped in the purchase of a radiator by Robert- thank you for the time and effort taken.
Served at the till by Nathan who also lifted my heavy purchase into the boot of the car for me- very polite and helpful. It’s this kind of service that ensures customers return in the future.
D. P.
I've been here before and it was ok then, unfortunately this time it was a bit chaotic, covid social distancing and arrows on the floor totally ignored by all, including staff, choices were pretty limited this time too!
So we went to Wickes instead who were the polar opposite, simple customer safety system with knowledgable staff, bigger choice too!!
D. E.
Always a delight to visit. Had a super helpful and knowledgeable lass on the paint section. Gave me best advice for my project and saved me a few quid.
J. R.
B&Q is perfect for me as I don’t like buying stuff online I like to see and feel what I’m buying
B. B.
Good home improvement store, the staff are very helpful if you can find them.
M. A.
Absolutely nothing wrong here. You get everything you want and need for any sort of job! Perfect for DIY!
S. G.
everything for your home diy projects. paint. kitchens bathrooms . wardrobes . even has a garden centre. you can also download the app onto your phone to receive a £5 off voucher
T. W.
Had what we wanted. Good value. Friendly helpful staff
D. D.
We got what we came for. Just pity our local one is suffering from empty shelves and this one was full. But we did shop in other places so was worth the trip
J. J.
You can find everything for diy there. Love it. But not the cheapest place.
S. B.
Good selection, relatively high price, some questionable quality on some parts. Useful to view stuff before buying but would check prices elsewhere before purchasing.
L. C.
Can always find what you need. Very knowledgeable staff, good service.
R. B.
Ok, no store guide. Went to get an Ironing Board which eventually located at the far end of the store. No clear price marking so took it to checkout thinking this will be ok. "That'll be £62! Sir" what? Sorry no sale and a waste of time. A cheaper one was available for £35, but couldn't be bothered to look again! 😥
G. A.
Went looking for kitchen ideas and inspiration but was disappointed that they don't have many show kitchens on display and we got ignored by the staff who were all standing together in the middle of the department.
B. W.
We bought a ceiling fan/light fitting after struggling with it for a number of hours whereby when it was switched on the fan caused the whole thing to wobble all over the place I rang B&Q customer service. They put me through to our local branch where we'd purchased the fitting and turn I spoke to Don from the lighting dept he was brilliant plenty of sensible advice and his conclusion after discussion was product was faulty. Went into the branch to exchange the faulty fitting and Don was very helpful again. Unit was exchanged and we had it up and working perfectly within an hour. Thanks Don
G. X.
Friendly and fast trade counter. If they could make a section for drain fittings also in the trade area rather than at the opposite far bottom end of the store would be even more fantastic.
C. M.
As expected although this time when I couldn't find a product the staff were overly helpful 👍
F. D.
A place where you can find almost everything that you need for the house, but some staff....just ignore the customers. Some of them are just brilliant, but saddly a few of them will let you speach, turn back and go, pretending that they did not hear you and arw busy.
N. S.
Its ok. Its like every B&Q. Soon noticed they only had social distancing when you join the queue to pay which was strange, everywhere else in shop customers rub shoulders and are free range.
M. R.
This place is always very helpful but some of the staff do not seem to have a lot of nolidge
G. C. M.
The self's are empty, proffessional staff is missing when you need professional advice.
They need to spend more time training the staff to know they area and what they selling, everyone I speak was polite no problem with that.
D. W.
Had to return some tiles - no hassle - excellent service
A. G.
It a big store which I always use. They used to have a cafe in there but taken out which is a shame. They could do with updating there signs to make it easier to locate what you need. Plus it's always hard to locate a member of staff. Trade shop it a plus.
G. A.
Has everything l was looking for. Reasonable prices wuth "some" good deals
K. G.
What a great store, staff were very helpful. Very clean and covid friendly. I would definitely go back.
S. d. (. d.
Very good in these new normal times as an organisation. Good queuing system, bright yellow, easy to see, clearly marked & sectioned off, moron shoppers still ignore it. Inside again it's obvious a lot of thought has been put into the layout and flow of people around the store to minimise disruption. Good, clear one way system, sectioned off where appropriate, again morons ignore it and social distancing on general. Not sure if sacking Dominic Cummings would help things now, certainly wouldn't damage things. Well done b&q for putting effort into showing the relative stupidity of a swathe of your customers. Good old British common sense.
M. P.
New self-service system in place. It is more efficient and helps with queue.
B. J.
Good range, competitive prices - staff are always available to help
S. K.
Massive shop.good staff
k. f.
Didn't really have what we went in for but we did get a few bits. The highlight was when the little old lady in front of us, in the queue, shouted at her husband & then let off a massive audible fart... then carried on as if nothing happened! Comedy gold
R. S. M.
Huge que. Only 2 tills open. Staff helpful. Still overpriced for a lot of things. Screwfix. Wickes. Cheaper. But it was the only option at the time. .
r. g.
Large store I went for some internal lighting but the range of lamps for the living room was as bad as it gets. Plenty of parking although spaces are narrow so don't go on a special car take an old banger so you don't get dents.
J. R.
So much choice! Went in for sealant and came out with lots of ideas.
G. K.
Really helpfull, witnessed me carrying door parts and without me asking, guided me to what I was looking for.
J. H.
Had what l wanted.
S. G.
It's a great big B&Q. Shame, despite checking stock online (too low to 'click and collect' but in stock), the only stock I could find of most of the things I wanted were display items nailed to the wall!
m. m.
Best hardware shop in Peterborough, trade counter is useful and staff always helpful. Very large place and stocks most things. Paint mixing service is available. Good car parking for car or large van. Rental vans are also available of you buy to much!
M.
Social distancing effective. Waited 5 minutes in the queue outside, spaced two metres apart. Plenty of space inside the store on the day I went.
M. D.
Helpful friendly staff! Massive place with everything you could need.
P. R.
It's a good store which stocks probably everything needed for DIY. It also does trade goods. It's a huge store, a bit overwhelming for me personally but great nonetheless
M. Z.
Tina was superhelpful. I came there last week with my baby, she helped me to find the right thing that I was looking for and also interact with my baby a lot. She made it much easier than usual. Bravo Tina!!! Thank you very much !!!
G. A.
For all "Do-it-yourself" equipment. A place to be!
H. T.
First place visited after people can go without masks, We wore them so did most people found it unsettling plus they did not stock the item wanted.
F. b.
All you need for DIY if professional or amateur all here
P. J.
Went to collect a pre-ordered item, staff very helpful & friendly, order received quickly & we were on our way!
R. E.
About the only proper diy store left in Peterborough. Not easy to find items in the store but the staff (when you can find one) are helpful
R. M.
Didn't have everything I needed this visit but the gentleman in tradepoint clothing (long hair, new to b&q) was very friendly and helpful trying to find what I was looking for :)
M. P.
Reasonable prices, and good choice of garden and home improvement materials and equipment, 10% discount for the over 60's on Wednesdays.
Only issue is the queuing at the tills if making a cash payment, self service tills are card only.
K. P.
Found the best Christmas tree ever and it was on sale!
M. L.
Well done B&Q Peterborough for opening up during this tough lockdown period. Staff were great, queuing was well organised and floor layout perfect for social distancing. Thank you to those staff who are working. Greatly appreciated.
N. C.
Been here a lot lately and most staff are helpful. I had some trouble where they didn't have the base of the paint I wanted in stock and I kept trying to get it for over a month (I had already painted two coats and needed more). In the end I had to drive to Spalding B&Q after calling Peterborough, Huntingdon and St Neots without success. They were all helpful on the phone to be fair, just didn't have the base in stock and didn't know why. Things tend to be quite expensive here but at least they're available
D. H.
Very helpful staff and good range. Picked up a couple of bargains in the clearance section as. I would avoid burger queen outside to be honest but can't blame b&q for that.
R.
Good range of DIY stuff. Wood is a bit hit and miss in terms of quality, but the ability to have it cut to size in-store is excellent.
M. H.
I bought an electric fire and I was not sure of the measurements I asked the store's assistant and she was very helpful
C. R.
Average B&Q as they all are now, not having loads of stock but you might get what you want....if your lucky.
T. O.
Good prices and nice variety.
Things aren't always easy to find, ask a member of staff they are very helpful.
Check stock online before going, if you know what you want, to avoid disappointment.
C. B.
Delivery drivers very helpful and polite
L. A.
Hubby brought compost and top soil and plants
P. J.
Had most things needed. Apart from grinder key.
S. M.
They are very helpful and kind
J. H.
Didn't have toilet seat we wanted so got one online at argus.but got a mirror in Sted so all ok
R. B.
Part of the garden centre was very neglected. Expensive trees and large wisteria were dying due to lack of water. Some were so dry the compost had totally dried out. They were lying on their sides so wouldn't even get any rain water.
I went to buy a Wisteria and was surprised by the poor condition they all were in. No way were they saleable
L. H.
Most of the time they have what im looking for, staff are helpful, great layout and easy to navigate around the store.
L. W.
Got what I wanted for mice
S. G.
Good honest staff had paid for items on leaving b+q noticed I was £20 less in my wallet than I had before I paid went back and when they cashed up found till was up £20 all thanks to Donna who dealt with problem professionally as I said before very honest and very helpful
D. J.
Huge B&Q, gold selection of products.
J. W.
Always helpful staff, you know what you getting, good ranges...only down is sometimes dont stock smaller items youd expect, you have order online
C. V.
Staff very helpful still wearing masks and social distance felt safe got exactly what we wanted
P. G.
Really large store. Helpful staff. Huge parking area.
T. R.
Massive B&Q, staff helpful, and surprisingly considering it’s size i found what i wanted quickly. I could spend hours in there!!
M. B.
Special thanks to Lynn on customer service at your Peterborough store and Emma from decorating section who were extremely helpful when we had a problem with some wallpaper purchased from you. Much appreciated.
K. P.
Not cheapest
Difficulty to buy what you need because long time it's need to wait for this what you want.
Stock is not regularly top up!!
A. H.
Pretty awesome help from the staff. Would be 5 stars but they didn't stock a wall mounted clothes rack. But had everything else :)
H. M.
Didn't have what I wanted but customer service was good.
A. H.
Huge store with almost all of your DIY needs under one roof.
M. K.
Always find what I need
D. C.
Great place with great prices at the moment they are going through a refurbishment but cafe still open and toilets moved to the back of the shop. However there are loads of workers with signs saying can i help and everything is still there but in a different place.
Z. B.
Always buy from B&Q good price
S. R.
Easy to get around. Never queuing to lay for items. Wide range of product can always get what you're looking for and staff are helpful enough if you cant find what you are looking for.
M. P.
An all in 1 convenient store for all your building and hardware supplies as well as an outdoor section with all your horticultural goods all under 1 roof!
S. E.
Stopped here to have a dump, couldnt fault it, plenty of bog role and clean amenities.
E. L.
Not a lot you can't get and there is ample free parking on site.
E. T.
Queueing was a faff but quick non the less... shelves well stocked.. queues gone now the vid has.
J. H.
Quick service in store. Bit slow at the checkout
S. M.
Big store has pretty much everything you need for your DIY project and the staff are very helpful considering that it's Peterborough
H. H.
So a bit of a weird task for Bob and other staff today but Bob stepped up to the mark 😊 I am setting up my new Yoga classes and was looking for something I could use as an ab roller.Found the pipe insulation foam and started telling Bob my story. He kindly laid down on a piece to see if it stayed circular, and yes we had a bit of a giggle. Of course then I had to check it would be suitable and Im sure some customers thought Id fallen over lol. Great team and even got each piece cut in half so I didnt have to do that. The real deal cost approx £40 in John Lewis....these £1.25 each when cut. Bargain! New businesses need a helping hand, thanks guys 😊
S. J.
Great service.
Shame the toilets out of use
R.
Everytime I've gone there I've seen employees go the extra mile to help the customers, such as help with the trolley to put stuff in the car if needed that extra help
H. C.
Love a B&Q store, great ideas for your house and always friendly helpful staff
S. M.
All good, staff helpful, most things in stock. Plants very dry and needed watering but it's a very hot day.
S. C.
Staff are mostly helpful and friendly. A good range of products. Although sometimes a little on the pricey side compared to other places.
R. H.
Helpfull and friendly staff got what I went in for but miss pensioners Wednesday little discount as do a lot of people I know think this could have a impact on shopping in store it was only 1 DAY a week but every penny helps us on pensions ..RAY..
J. W.
Large, good range of choice although lacking a few things I'd expect them to stock. Cannot use contactless payment which I think is needed
J. S.
Nice stuff, has a lot of variety of indoor and outdoor products.
D. N.
Would like to say a massive thank you to Natalie and Shannon on the click and collect desk after a work colleague had placed an order for collection or so I had thought and I came to the store but there was no order on BnQ system ahhh Awkward..Natalie went above and beyond in my opinion to redo the complete order from scratch for me ..being polite and courteous through out and with the help of Shannon you have 2 valued members of Staff BnQ that deserve praise for the efforts and professionalism for your company!! Thank you once again from all of us at Carworld Merry Christmas 🎄
R. P.
Great for all DIY products
S. D.
Very large store and the staff were helpful
I. P.

E. W.
Clean un cluttered and had the paint colour I wanted
e. d.
If your doing a little fix up around the house and need any materials, from paint to lumber, things for the garden etc, you will find it all here.
K. B.
I found what I needed quickly and was able to pay with not much wait at all.. Thank you..
R. W.
Very good. First time at this B&Q since moving here. Service and help were excellent. Biggest B&Q I've ever seen. Need to return to have a full look around.
d.
Always a pleasure. Even in tough times with product shortages the staff are always happy to help out to give you the result you want
S. W.
It's what it is. Loads of staff wandering around in pairs and none of them seem to know much about their stock but then it's B&Q and you go because they're reasonably cheap and carry a lot of stuff
J. L.
Have just customer collected from you today very efficient , great staff Cameron was particularly helpful
Will definitely use this facility again so easy and very safe .
Thank you
C.
huge store with so much choice and everything you could possibly need for at home
J.
Had everything I needed & staff helpful.
R. M.
Went in to ask about stuff, difficult to get someone to help. However, a lady in the garden section was very helpful. Big store with everything you'd expect.
B. S.
Staff extremely pleasant, this B&Q always seems to have stock in that we need which is a bonus. Queue times a bit slow.
R. J.
Got most of what I wanted one item out of stock
M. M.
Good selection of tools and equipment. Staff are quite helpful. A bit expensive for some stuff though.
E. G.
It was bangin tbf, still yet to find that girl i saw at charters but maybe one day

Love walking round the store, always has what we require.
K. M.
Very helpful staff and as an NHS worker I also got 10% and was informed by a lovely member of staff that next I come I can be seen straight away as I work for the NHS.
R. O.
No idea where to look, x2 members of staff were sound & helpful even though store was busy.
Meant I was in and out, just how I like it.
K. L.
If you need anything DIY go to the Peterborough branch. I got the impression that if they don't have it, it doesn't exist! The staff members we dealt with were very helpful.
D. M.
I love DIY stores anyway, but this was our 1st visit since march. Brilliant- and not busy 😉😉
l. n.
Don't buy Mcalister. As no parts you can buy and bnq not supports buyer. A part of that not bad.
V. G.
Didn't have what I was looking for but a 5 to customer service
A. S.
I am a regeler visited but was watch by security & stopped bcos the material I payed for was activated when I exited the building I will not visit b&q again.
C. L. (.
One of the larger B&Q stores. It has a very good selection. Easy parking and helpful staff.
N. T.
Good range of products. Friendly helpful staff. Will visit again
D. K.
Big shop with loads in it
P. L.
Nice to see a change of policy on your Facebook site so I have withdrawn my 1* review ...... I will not be using them anymore as a customer as the management have taken the NIMBY approach to learner drivers using their car parks to practice manoeuvres
J. C.
Great place to fulfil my diy and craft projects, downside if any is waited a long time in ques, but staff really friendly, this was before the virus
S. W.
Very helpful returning for appointment to check out kitchens
S. F.
Easy to find everything
S. H.
Silly day to shop at B&Q stores . Asked were trolleys in store ? No you need to look for one round car park ,plus que to pay stretched to back of store
A. R.
Went for some replacement spot light bulbs but unable to find any that I was sure about the size and no one to ask so left without anything.
H. D.
Wonderful shop so many useful things
j. r.
Brilliant service from staff for an exchange, some parts are cheaper than competitors
R. P.
Very big and over priced
T. S.
Supervisor in flooring dept had an attitude. Not a good experience today. Otherwise usually customer service is excellent, maybe the guy had a bad day.
M. H.
Very helpful staff and nothing too much trouble.
J.
Very large store. Well laid out so it's easy to find what you need
M. C.
Well done to the staff they were a great help helped me find all I needed.
W. 2.
The proffesional shop to all people who create some small and big job at home and not only. The highest level of quality products.
d.
A good experience at the shop it about DIY like wood work and the different materials the shed are very good and strong and reliable affordable this is very good shop for people who make things like sheds or paint or work with paints and sheds and wood I really recommend this shop to them
s. k.
Found everything we wanted with easy. Assistant directing people to the tills so minimal waiting.
C. W.
Good distancing. Good variety of products, friendly staff. What more do you need these days
G. S.
Excellent , very helpful staff .
Pick n mix screws 🤔 couldn't find the bags !
C. R.
Standard trip to B&Q didn't have exactly what I wanted but close enough.
N. D.
Never really liked B&Q, now not much choice with Homebase shutting down loads of shops. Prices will probably go up with no competition.
R.
Big store plenty parking friend staff .
N. J.
Went with my son to get door handles etc, both not having a clue what length etc, asked a employer who was so nice and helped us get the right things
A. T.
This particular branch of B&Q is undergoing some changes and it's getting smaller to allow for a food store to share it's premises. The product range is getting smaller.
B. L.
I have been shopping here for a number of years. The staff are very helpful and they are always willing to help me with stuff to my car.
A. M.
Good choice of products but prices a litlle bit.high
t. s.
Got everything you need for any job. Friendly helpful staff.
J. L.
Very helpful staff, well stocked and clean.
J. B.
Sometimes yiu can find what you looking for, but cmon some of the stuff is so overpriced
J. B.
Good products, ok prices. Staff the review down as if you as for something, as most of the time they send you in the wrong direction.
S. G.
Not enough checkouts on I walked out without buying anything must have been fourty people in the queue
E. J.
Saved £5 on the Argos price. Loads of stock and every attempt at social distancing. Bonus to see shoplifter, thief, detained.
N. G.
You can do it when you b&q it !!!!! The catch phrase says it all, everything from screws to complete bathrooms and kitchens they have most of what you need diy or trade.
C. S. J.
Very large store with good range of kitchen and bathroom units on display. Staff are helpful and there's a coffee shop in store.
L. S.
Very friendly and helpful staff, markings across the store clear and staff to help on almost every aisle.
J. R.
Used click & collect service. Really quick & efficient.
C. 9.
A bit expensive for what you get. The staff seem attentive and thats good. Things need clearly priced as its annoying when they aren't.
G. W.
Good stock
L. j. L.
Felt safe and got everything I wanted, perfect click and collect!
Shop well organised
K. A.
Good parking but did not have what I wonted in stock
J. F.
Come here every week for some type of item always had a good experience and the cafe inside is nice to have a coffee whilst shopping
N. G.
A big store carrying almost every DIY requirements.
Very covid conscious
D. G.
Bit pricey but ok good selection of products.
f. l.
Good shop for me. Maybe more skilled people need.
S. A.
Going downhill rapidly since they offloaded space to a supermarket. Bad decision
D. C.
I always struggle to find things. They have so much stuff they could do with a search station like Argos have, but which tells you where things are.
S. “. L.
They have most things you need, but I feel the prices could be looked at again to make it an even more popular place to go.
S. A. R.
Massive store...you can get everything for diy..a bit expensive than screwfix and toolstation.
