A. M.For anything that goes to the kitchen or the bathroom, this place offers an amazing value for money. Even for brands, it's much cheaper than the largest Tesco.
You can also buy tools, painting, electric cables, glue, glassware, car oil... When I had my old bimmer, it was nearly 1 tank of fuel, 1 bottle of oil. When you drive a classic, your live out of oil and fuel. It was the place where I used to purchase the oil.
They have a cash machine if you need to draw money.

Edit 19\4\22 - had to take back a plastic bird bath, due to a piece missing. Replacement had the same piece missing.... we then opened all the remaining 5 boxes, all missing the same part, so a manufacturer issue. Annoying due to my 2 visits but not their fault.

No staff, and to top it some of them just stand and watch as it's clearly beneath their management level to get on a till to support their team, and get the money in the till, with a blatant contempt for those shopping in store, he really should work somewhere else. The shelves are empty, with lots of prices missing across products.

C.Nice store with a range of products - but poor till layout, they had about 5 self checkouts with only one staff at one of tills saying cash only, which is frustrating when you have lot's of products to scan and not very welcoming. I felt as if I was employed by Wilko myself!. I think it would be faster if there were more staff serving at the tills, but they probably don't want to pay more workers !

We'll stocked, and with a full range of household items, from cleaning products and pet care, to garden and DIY supplies. Self serve tills, and staffed till. Team members on hand to help, and wipe down tills after each customer.
a. b.Great range of products, at fabulous prices. They sell everything from pegs to paint, pet food to pans as well as a massive range of other items. Their prices are pretty hard to beat too. And you usually find their pic and mix is half price in kids holidays.
I.Great place for all household items, only reason for 4 stars not 5 is that some stuff is kinda over priced if your buying on a budget. But all in all very nice place staff are friendly the place is always stocked and clean.

B.I do live this shop and the staff are usually very polite. Only reason why it isnt getting 5 stars is that (most likely due to their location) they dont always have a fully stocked selection. For example they havent had any black spray paint that I like to buy at Wilkos since last year. No doubt its popular but I regularly go in to check and its a negatory on that mission!

Was this a deterrent to the would be shop lifters? I doubt it!

K. C.Located on the first floor, opposite the escalators inside the Broad Street Mall shopping centre, Wiko is a store which offers a wide range of beauty, pet, gadgets, stationery, and home and garden products.
I've shopped there on numerous occasions and have always found it to be clean, tidy and well-stocked, a very pleasant shopping experience.
The store is bright and large enough for several options of whatever you're looking for from household brands to Wilko's own at very reasonable prices without compromising on quality.
The staff on the floor have always been very helpful and the cashiers happy and courteous.
T. C.Have been trying to buy a new Rotary Washing Line but until I thought of Wilko I couldn't find anywhere to see what I was buying. Wilko had a selection and we could select the one that seemed most likely to meet our requirements. And when we needed help, it was easy to find someone twice, one to locate the right area of the store and the other to give more information about the selected item. Everybody was so helpful. Long live the High Street!!

s. g.A friend of mine described Wilko as 'a modern Woolworths ' and that phrase is apt enough to have stuck in my mind. It is a shop that sells inexpensive products to the less affluent (including myself).
The range of goods is extreme,from beer-making paraphernalia to door handles, from emulsion to ironing boards. This does mean that the choice within particular categories is limited.
I've always found the staff to be very helpful if sometimes a little stressed. It is an aspect of modern retail that necessary staff levels are predicted by expected 'foot-fall' and that when this prediction proves to be inaccurate it is not only the customers who suffer.
I recommend a visit. A gem.
I find that as I write more reviews I'm gradually constructing a tour of 1960s - 80s Reading. Here's the itinerary.
Start at Sainsbury's in Friar Street, followed by a browse around Wilko. Pause for lunch at Sweeney
& Todd's for lunch before going to Oxfam Music to browse the vinyl, cassettes and old computer games. Take in Oxfam Books before retiring to The Allied Arms to explore the best jukebox in town. Finally to The British Heart Foundation on the Oxford Road to pick up some retro furniture. Sadly it is no longer possible to round the day off at the Central Swimming Pool.
