I had a total knee replacement at this hospital the 27/01/2022 and spent three days there. I opted for a spinal injection to numb the legs. I must admit I was a bit skeptical at first but it worked out great. Although it might not be the best way to go for everyone. I was wide awake throughout and the surgeon, anaesthetist and all the rest of the surgical team were great.The after care team were superb. I was in room 304. The nurses,physiotherapy , kitchen staff and cleaners were excellent. 10/ 10. I'm writing to the managent also about my experience. The next few months are going to be the hardest, the dreaded physiotherapy. Hard work but there is no escape from this.

The overall experience was good as a private patient.
The lady in the ultra sound department was ever so helpful and nice.
The nurses was nice and cheerful.
However the Scottish sounded guy on the phone for first point of contact was absolutely awful. He just kept repeating his words regardless your question, in the end he gave me a loud laugh for no reason on the phone. Never seen such an unprofessional staff before.
Be warned about him picking up your call.

I have recently undergone surgery on my Achilles at the BMI Clementine, however before the op I needed my bloods and covid test done. Living a lot closer to the independent It was a lot easier to get it done here.
What I thought would be an easy ask, turned out to be more difficult & time consuming to arrange, which was very frustrating. However when Leigh Brame, (not sure of job title) got involved, she sorted this out straight away, was apologetic and was extremely friendly & profession.
I had a very pleasant experience when I got the tests done the nurse was excellent (not sure of name sorry!)

I went to have my first cataract surgery this week. My consultant was Mr. Mark Hulbert. All staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient in all respects.
My surgery was completed as an NHS patient.
I would thoroughly recommend the service at the BMI London Independent hospital.
Mr. Hulbert really knows his game and I feel absolutely confident under his care. If you are lucky enough to be referred to this hospital by your GP, make sure you take it!

This afternoon I went to this private hospital for the first time and I had a very mixed experience: I went for a doctor's appointment (which I would give five stars) and after that I had a blood test (which only deserves one star at most). The doctor I saw was brilliant: He was on time, patient, helpful, experienced and very attentive. I was really impressed by his experience and service.
At the end of my appointment, the doctor suggested me to do a blood test and I asked whether I could do the test immediately after this appointment. I asked for it cause I thought it was a private hospital hence it should run efficiently and provide efficient services to patients. He said that he would check it for me. Then he walked to the nurse station and started to speak to the nurses. The doctor and the nurses started to argue for almost 10 minutes. I overheard that the nurses said they were very busy, and that if the doctor had any problems, he should provide feedback to senior management. After that, the doctor came to me and said I could take the blood test.
Then I waited for 20 minutes in front of the nurse station. I noticed that the nurses were chatting and not busy at all. After the long wait, one nurse came to me and took my blood, which only took 30 seconds. She started to complain to me that they were soooo busy and had to take appointments externally. At the same time, some doctors wanted them to do blood tests randomly, which was super demanding.
To be quite honest, I found the nurse's attitude ridiculous. Don't get me wrong: she was nice and was capable professionally. However, her attitude made me feel that she worked for NHS, which means that it is ok for nurses to chat for 20 minutes and then work for 30 seconds. It is ok to just do minimum work and bring lots of trouble to others in NHS. If nurses in this hospital have this types of attitude, why they work here? Hence, I do agree with nurses that the management in this hospital should take it seriously.
Two years ago, i went to another private hospital. The service was way more sufficient. I was offered blood test immediately after the doctor's appointment.
I genuinely don't understand why staff in this hospital feel that it is OK for a patient to wait for so long? If that's ok, why do I come here rather than go to the free NHS?

Found all staff to be courteous & helpful. But a special mention has to go to a young lady by the name of Leigh on the desk of the Pre op assessment department. This young lady went above & beyond what would be expected of her. Whatever the hospital is paying her is not enough. Thank you so much.

Had an absolutely great experience with this hospital. I had a small surgery and had to go quite often to get my dressing changed and the nursing staff were so helpful working appointments around my busy schedule and took great care of my wound. Big shout out to Alba and Nora in the nursing staff and Dr Bull who did the surgery.

I dealt with a lovely woman from the imaging department called Fatimah regarding an MRI scan. I told her my issue I was experiencing and she was nothing but extremely helpful, I literally couldn’t of asked for anyone better to of picked up the phone. Her customer service was professional and she dealt with my situation very efficiently.
If it wasn’t for Fatimah I would be waiting 7months for my MRI scan, but she managed to find me a cancellation and get me seen the same day.
Very happy with the service even the two staff that done my MRI scan were very kind and professional couldn’t of asked for a better team. Leaving a very happy patient 😊

Staff have been wonderful here the minute I walked in, and they listened to all my prep talks before coming in which really helped my recovery.
Thank you to the admissions team through to nurses, the theatre staff, the catering team and the cleaners. You kept it COVID free and I felt safe.
You did everything to ensure I was monitored throughout the night, I was given pain relief on time and just the complete reassurance I needed to help me recover. As we were not permitted visitors the nurses did everything they could to take care of my needs. This was honestly appreciated. I didn’t miss my family at all. I had tears with two of the nurses post surgery and they hugged me to reassure me that the worst was over.
A huge thank you to the catering staff, you really took care of me! I think you over fed me too ! 😁 well it was needed right.
Birute thank you so much for booking this in for me and for everything you did to put me at ease for my stay.
It all went better than expected :) I was so very anxious but the entire team who took care of me (too many to name) just made it all OK! Honestly, you made it all happen thank you!

Dr Khan has been excellent on treatment and operation. However booking appointments with Dr, physio as well as outpatient has been an absolute chaos. wrong dates sent, confirmations sent for other dates than confirmed, endless waiting times on phone centers. Very disappointing. Sounds like "departments" dont talk to each other either.
Quite stressful for a patient to try and manage all this. Fix please.

I can personally highly recommend the London BMI hospital. I had a procedure preformed by Mr Fady Sendra , he & his team were not only kind and , reassuring, they absolutely made my time at this hospital a pleasurable one .
The whole of nursing staff were attentive, kind & a pleasure to be with .
I would have no reservations whatsoever about returning to this particular hospital if I had to in the future.

I was seen by Mr Gulati and Dr Otto Chan for an ongoing pain that had been going on for 5 years. Not only were they compassionate and caring but i am now pain free for the first time in a long time and i have a much better quality of life now. Also the staff in the imaging department were amazing. If anyone is struggling or does struggle with having MRI's or injections i would look no further than this hospital. i have a huge fear of tight spaces and needles and i almost fell asleep during my MRI and was eased by the nurse with the needle. The duty of care i received was outstanding and i would 100% recommend Mr Gulati and Dr Otto Chan to anyone who needed their type of care.

I had my ankle repaired there yesterday. I woke up disorientated, shivering and totally high from the anasthesia. Wonderful nurses Alma, Joia, Jenny and Latifa took great care of me over the night and the following day, making me feel safe, cosy and comfortable. The organisation, from admittance to discharge, was impeccable and efficient. The drugs they used for anasthesia gave me the highest high of my life, which lasted nearly 24 hours (thank you, dr anestesiologist, and sorry for not remembering your name - well, the "gin and tonic" you served me was partly to blame). And dr Nazir, who operated on me, is everything I want my son to grow up to be - an accomplished, charming and kind man.Two months after: my ankle is perfectly healed. Great physio support. Couldn't be happier.

My experience in this hospital was fantastic from the moment I entered and was welcomed by Mariano until the very moment sister Valentina signed me off ready to go home again. The team was super organised and looked after me at every point of my journey. More than anything I felt cared for at the highest possible level. I had to spend a night at the ICU and I cannot express enough gratitude I have for the team working there. This is such a demanding job, yet all the nurses smiled, seemed genuinely happy to be there and nothing every seemed too much trouble. Special mention has to go to Joanna, Andreea and the night nurse Cecilia - what amazing humans. The hospital itself felt modern and well equipped and even the food was delicious. The rooms on the ward could do with a little decor update but what are the nicest looking rooms in the world if the staff is not great. Thank you to the entire team at the BMI London Independent you are wonderful.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to both Michaela and Adam for looking after my mother throughout her treatment last Friday. Adam made my mum feel at ease right from the beginning as he greeted us in reception and took her up to the ward, she expressed how kind and caring he was. Michaela has been fantastic arranging all appointments and constantly keeping us updated through this tough time. She even went the extra mile to check in on my mum before her operation as she was on her own, which we’re so grateful for. From initial contact to surgery and recovery, the staff have been amazingly. Had gastric sleeve surgery and Dr and staff made the journey a complete smooth transition. On paying privately I had alot of conversations with other hospitals, but Dr Kesava Reddy Mannur was completely honest with me and never sugar coated the facts. So glad I went ahead with procedure at this hospital. Nurses were amazing looking after me. Just wish I had procedure done before. Thank you so much guys.

I have been to the London Independent Hospital a few times since December 2020 for a hip problem.
On 17th June 2021 I went in to have a total hip replacement. The treatment I received by everyone from the consultant surgeon to porters was second to none. All the staff had a smile and went the extra mile to make me feel cared for and important to them.
Mr Gulati who perfomed the operation was great. He came to see me the next day to explain what he had done and wish me a speedy recovery.
Take it from me that if you have to go to this hospital, the treatment, hospitality, care, food etc.are all first class.

I had a full adult tonsillectomy here 6 days ago. I was so impressed with everything from start to finish. The doctors were fantastic (mr Bajaj) and the nurses that helped before and after were lovely! (Lory and Valentine) I cant recommend more for day surgery! I will have my outpatient appt later this year! See pic for my own private room with tv and en-suite. All in all 10x better than my previous NHS in hospital experiences. Luckily I was referrred by NHS for this so my costs were covered!

Easy to find as location, very convenient as its 2 minutes walking from the tube station. Very clean facility. Friend staff starting from the reception, professional doctor. Very impressed with nurses both at waiting area and procedure room, they are caring and patient. I had a good experience from A to Z. Highly recommended.

I had a total hip replacement on my right side, performed by Mr Vivek Gulati on the 29th July 2021. I was extremely lucky to be referred to Mr Gulati, and he was amazing at fitting me in for my op ahead of the expected wait time; initially estimated to be at least a year, I waited just 2 months from the time I had my consultation with Mr Gulati to the day of the operation. I had been living with the agony of arthritic pain for over a year and he did an excellent job of laying out all my options, and explaining what would be best for me. After feeling as if I was going to have to live in pain forever, it was a huge relief to hear Mr Gulati say he had a plan and it would make me better, and I’d be able to live life normally again.
From the moment I arrived at the BMI London Independent I was given an excellent level of care. Nothing ever felt like it was too much to ask, and all the healthcare staff who supported me were a joy. This was particularly important to me because, due to Covid, patients are required to go into hospital alone and aren’t allowed visitors. All the staff were attentive and supportive. My physiotherapist, Rhys, stood out in particular, as he helped me get out of bed and take my first steps 1 day post-op. I felt completely safe and supported, and it was his gentle pushing in the right direction that meant I felt comfortable enough to tackle the stairs on crutches the day after my operation.
I feel really lucky to have been an NHS patient at the BMI, because the level of care here has been second to none.
I can’t thank Mr Gulati and the entire team at the London Independent enough. This operation has changed my life already, and I will be forever grateful for the care I’ve received. I couldn’t have wished for a better experience.

Dealing with the change your body goes through after surgery and the mental impact that this can have is difficult for many and I was no different - but luckily, I was able to heal in record time after my operation thanks to the daily care I received at BMI. I've had scans, consultations and an operation and was throughly looked after. The Gynecology (Mrs Sinha) and Women's Physiotherapy departments have been top class. I had major surgery at the BMI Stepney Green in January 2021. The surgeon Mrs Deepali Sinha performed what was a complex operation with great skills and expertise. My recovery has been excellent. All the personnel at the hospital were kind, helpful and very competent, from the anaesthetist to the caterers, cleaners, nurses, administrators and last but not least, the physiotherapists. The physios, Magda and Marta are fantastic. They really helped my recovery, over several weeks with a great deal of patience and specialist work. I am very grateful to this wonderful team for their help at a very difficult time for me.

When I first contacted the bmi London independent hospital, I spoke to a lovely and helpful girl named Michaela. At this particular time, I had no quality of life as I couldn’t walk and was confined to a wheelchair. She helped me in every way possible with reassurance and kindness. I will be forever grateful to her.
On the day if admission, there was maintenance work being carried out and I wasn’t happy with the drilling noise. The staff changed my room so I should be more comfortable.
Without doubt, the nursing staff were terrific and attentive. They made me feel very special and I couldn’t fault any of them. They had time to sit and talk with me, help me to the toilet and even share my sweets,
I even had flowers, chocolates and wine to compensate for the inconvenience of the drilling.

I had a procedure on Monday and i been a bit dissapointed with my hospital experience...I received a letter that I need to fast for 15h when I actually didn't because I had local anaesthesia. I been told I have a 4pm appointment then called to go at 3:15 and my procedure was actually at 6pm. I stayed alone in a room crying because I was really anxious being my 1st surgery and had no idea what was going on...was no need to be there for so many hours before. I also been asked why I am wearing nail polish when I didn't had a general anaesthesia everything was so confusing. My friend stayed in the car in front of the hospital from 3pm to 7:30pm because we didn't had an actual time when I need to be picked up. The before surgery experience was stressful and at some point I was thinking to leave. The 5 stars are for Dr. Deepali Sinha and her amazing team! Plus the lady that gave me biscuits and tea after which put me back on my feet! They been so amazing and carrying making the surgery process very smooth because at some point i felt like fainting from the anxiety. Unfortunately I don't remeber everyone's names but amazing people! I never been treated so well by a medical team! Huge thank you!!! Ah and apologies to the sweet nurse(I only remeber she was from Turkey) that hold my hand, I hope I didn't break it...

My operation went very smoothly and I am safely back home.
I give my heartfelt thanks to the surgical team (surgeon Ms Pati, Dr Rane the anaesthetist and colleagues) for doing my operation with such skill and professionalism – and for providing calm reassurance throughout.
The whole team in theatre inspired great confidence and the same goes for the nurses in the recovery room who took care of me as well.
I stayed overnight and all the staff at the Nurse Base looked after me very well and made my stay extremely comfortable - and the food was very good too!

My review is only based on having a simple outpatients procedure, but it was an excellent experience.
The nurse doing the procedure was very friendly and superb at her job and I was in an out very quickly which is especially appreciated in these times.

Recently just had a surgery here and my experience was very good, I was cared from the start, felt comfortable upon my arrival. Furthermore, post surgery was a very pleasant experience, I felt comfortable and relaxed nurses were great constantly checking up on me, asking if needed anything etc.. I’m an NHS patient. In 2017 I had quiet a horrific experience at a another hospital that it left me quiet traumatised. I was scared to any attend any medical appointment since then. I had an appointment at this hospital and I was feeling so nervous about it. But as soon as l met Mr Oak - gynaecologist (twice) his kindest and empathy had automatically made me feel really safe and at ease. I had cried and explained why I was so nervous and his kindness and understanding made me feel at ease. For the first time attending an appointment I felt relaxed and assured all will be well. I have recently had a microdisectomy lumbar spine operation performed by Dr Sadek. The operation, care and staff throughout were exceptional and caring. I felt in safe hands and reassured the entire time. I cannot thank them enough for all they have done to help me while in such pain.

Went in for my covid pre-op test and all the staff could not have been kinder. The lady responsible for payments went out of her way to contact my insurance and was able to persuade them that my op should be covered. She made my day. The nurse who did the Covid test was great. Went in for a covid test and met the preassessment nurse Grace Chirombo. She made me feel so comfortable and the service was next to none. The process was quick and she gave me some valuable information as to how things work at the London Independent hospital and what to expect when i go in for my procedure.

I had my surgery at the BMI The London Independant Hospital 17/8/2020 under the care of Mr Loy. The care before and after the procedure was second to none, The bariatric team were fantastic. Pain meds were always topped up it didn’t actually feel like had any thing done .I would strongly recommend this Hospital for any one wanting surgery . I was made to feel so relaxed before i went to theatre which could really help an anxious patient. The rooms were very comfortable with en-suite bathrooms.Congratulations BMI London Independant and Mr Loy you have a fantastic team. Keep it up I will strongly recommend you for any procedure.

I have just undergone cataract surgery at the BMI London Independent Hospital. I was treated by Dr Mark Hulbert and his team and I cannot speak highly enough of the treatment I received throughout the process. This was clearly and courteously explained to me by Dr Hulbert. This was a privately paid for procedure with special lenses and has fully restored my sight. The surgery was performed with the least possible discomfort and within a few days of using the eye-drops provided I had amazing clarity of vision. The cost of the procedure will save me the cost of buying increasingly expensive pairs of spectacles every year. The whole experience was amazing and I am extremely grateful to everyone involved in my treatment but especially Dr Hulbert.

I would give Dr. Aftab and Dr. Norman 6 Stars for their professionalism, knowledge and the fact that they were able to help me. However, the admin staff who book you in, send you emails and try to get things sorted need a lot of work. I was given the wrong information a few times. I was even given the wrong time for my surgery. If I had not doubled checked myself, I would have missed it. If you have back/disc problems find a way to see Dr. Aftab as he is very good.
Came today (Sept 28) for a follow up (2 weeks after operation), the admin staff again got my information wrong and had the wrong appointment time. I can't imagine how difficult this must be on patients and doctors. I really hope the hospital looks into this.

I went to Dr. Karim Kassam as I had experienced a jaw pain for a long time. He listened to all my complaints, accurately assessed my condition, expressed his point of view on the treatment and explained to me some of the questions that I had for the prescribed treatment. Also after the injection, which the doctor himself gave me, I was surrounded by attention regarding my condition, which was nice - it is clear that the doctor cares about the patient and not about money or time. Personally, I would give a doctor 5 stars directly if I could.
BMI Hospital locates right near the tube station and all people that I contacted there were really nice and helpful.
But every time when I need to contact this hospital on phone - I chat with a robot system most of the time and at 3-d time it started to be really frustrating and too long. Especially when they began to transfer me to another department (every time the same one, where i have to listen robot again and again) in a circle three times in a row.
Also two times I had to check authorisation number from my insurance company and my email on the reception because two times it was spelled wrong, and both times I told person on reception about it.It seems they didnt change it, so I was always check this information with Dr. Kassam just in case.
Another problem was when I make an appointment to Dr. Karim Kassam to make an injection without telling him it before. So when I came I had to wait for an appointment for about an hour because the doctor had to make a request to issue a liquid for my injection and I simply wait all the time while it was delivered to doctor.
It was really strange for me because I thought reception should manage those things for the doctor, or at least warn him that a patient will come who will need to do an injection, so he can manage to request everything before. But as I dont really know how things work in that hospital - I cant comment it any further.
As I always said: I would always recommend the specialist and never the whole clinic/hospitals because in one building there can be 50% great doctors and 50% bad, but if you connect first time with a bad one - you can reject/ignore all good ones at the same clinic/hospital because of your first-one bad experience.

I had problems from a previous Operation (elsewhere) and was told that Mr V. Gulati would be the best person to see for a Hip replacement. Had a Consultation and then the Operation was booked. The Operation was carried out on the 8th July this year and went well and was a complete success. It was thanks not only to Mr Gulati who was brilliant but also the Admin and Support Team at the BMI Hospital. From the moment I went in until the moment I left I could not have asked for better care and treatment. I always say that "the proof is in the pudding", within 8 weeks I had stopped using the crutches, so a big thank you to all concerned. 10 out of 10 :-)

I have nothing but words of appreciation and gratitude to the staff in the hospital. I had a procedure here last week as overnight patient and everyone from reception to the ward staff are second to none. My admission, theatre visit and recovery all went very smooth but to my surprise, next morning the ward manager came to my room not at my request but actually just to check how I was doing and ensure that everything was going as planned. When I asked why this was out of curiosity he told me that everyday at some point he tries to visit every patient to check if everything is well and to offer any assistance if needed. This is not something you get everywhere these days and made me feel cared for and valued as a patient and costumer. Facilities are a little outdated but the excellence in the care given makes this a very small issue in comparison. Thank you and very well done

I was admitted here twice recently as an NHS patient. I was treated well by the medical staff and nurses, which I am grateful for. However the LIH's communication/admin processes were extremely poor and caused much confusion and stress. For example, the afternoon before one scheduled admission I had still not received any time/admission instructions and was being told my name could not even be found on the surgery list. The weekend telephone switchboard staff are rude. Finally, both times I visited there was almost continuous loud drilling work taking place at the hospital for several hours - the last thing you want to hear when you've just had surgery. If I had paid directly myself to be a private patient at LIH, I would be extremely disappointed.

Completely positive experience from beginning to end at the BMI London Independent Hospital in Stepney for my open septorhinoplasty operation in Sept 2020. For each of the 3 pre-op appointments I waited only a short period of time before being seen and on the day of the actual operation I felt like a priority and everyone was extremely polite and professional. I stayed overnight and the attention and concern from all of the staff was really first class. Both the eventual procedure, (see below my separate review of Mr Kassam who carried that out), and the after-care really couldn't have been any better. I would wholeheartedly recommend both Mr Kassam and the BMI to anyone without hesitation.
'I had my consultation with Mr Kassam in early August and was immediately impressed and persuaded that he was the surgeon to carry out my open septorhinoplasty due to his obvious and genuine enthusiasm, experience and breadth of knowledge on the subject. Whilst initially investigating this type of procedure I had consultations with 4 other surgeons but had no doubt whatsoever that in both relative and absolute terms Mr Kassam was the correct and only choice. I am writing this review less than 168 hours after the surgery even began. The care and dedication Mr Kassam took in explaining to me everything I needed and wanted to know throughout the intervening period between my initial consultation and last week’s surgery transferred and extended into the operation itself. During the procedure he spent additional time to get everything correct and the result was I had very little bruising, no pain whatsoever and this morning when I had my splint removed I was nothing short of thrilled to see my new nose for the first time. Prior to the surgery I had sent Mr Kassam a photo-shopped image of how I wanted my nose to look and he has replicated it exactly. For my nose to look as great as it does, so soon after a 4 hour operation, seems to me to be nothing short of miraculous. I cannot recommend Mr Kassam highly enough and have no doubt whatsoever whether it is rhinoplasty, or any other surgery which Mr Kassam undertakes for you, that you will be in the safest and most skilled hands possible.'

I saw Dr Parkes for a gastro consultation and he was amazing, explained everything so well and was so attentive to detail and always listened and answered any questions I had, he is also so lovely. I'm surprised anyone can be upset with this place. I've had a surgery done with Mr H. C. Godbole who was one of the nicest doctors I've ever met!
I actually got my timings wrong for my surgery, called in the morning (after my appointment time without realising it). A receptionist/nurse went above and beyond to book me in the same day for a slightly later time. Been offered nothing but smiles and top class service all round.
Excellent place. If I ever need to get a surgery again (hope not!!), I hope I'll end up here again. A++

I had a generally positive experience but with two noteworthy drawbacks.
Still giving 4 stars as the most important bits (facilities and the surgery itself, a tonsillectomy) were definitely positive.
Positives:
* clean and comfortable premises
* competent, professional surgeon (Dr Gillett), anesthetist and most nurses
As for the negatives:
1.
A nurse (whose English was very hard to understand, by the way) behaved very unprofessionally with a colleague when I was in the anesthesia room. He refused to double check the information on my bracelet (as is procedure, I imagine) when asked by a nurse colleague, claiming he already did it before. Asked once more, he refused AGAIN and simply left. The other nurse and I were both baffled. This shouldn't be happening in a hospital, especially in front of a patient.
2.
When doing the surgery pre-assessment I had the worst blood test of my life. Maybe the phlebotomist was inexperienced, but she couldn't draw blood from either arm. The whole ordeal took more than 30 minutes. Knowing I tend to get dizzy, I asked her if she could incline the chair but ignored my request. I admit I have always had some troubles with blood tests, but never this badly. The anesthetist was able to find my hand vein in a few seconds, despite the dehydration necessary for the upcoming surgery.
3. After being discharged from post surgery I was given a handful of leaflets, some discussing the pros and benefits of my surgery. Not terribly useful to have AFTER the surgery in question, don't you think?
4. I was asked the same questions 3-4 times (either in writing or orally). I understand that double checking is good, but at times I felt like a broken record.

I was looking for someone to help me for the last 10 years , after a filler injection went horribly wrong, my lips became seriously fibrated and big , It completely destroyed my lips and face , my lips became like a goat lips , it was horrible and ugly , I found the hospital at the point when I was so desperate and hopeless, Dr Karim KASSAM was able to help me ,he took out the filling and the fibrated tissue , I became able to look at my face in the mirror again .
when every other clinic gave me a ridiculously expensive price, Dr Kassam helped me with a very reasonable and acceptable price that I was able to afford.
Will always be grateful and thankful to Dr KASSAM and his team , thank you all...

Since my optician confirmed that I had a ripe cataract in my right eye that would need to be extracted, l developed cold feet. I have been going to the opticians and have got used to them and their environment. Going to the hospital for an eye operation at my age got me a bit worried. However, l saw Mr. Mark Hulbert at BMI THE INDEPENDENT HOSPITAL. He was very reassuring . He re- examined my eyes, then went on to explain what the procedure entails and what l should expect post operatively and the immediate future. I am yet to have my operation. The hospital location and it’s accessibility makes it very convenient to both private and public transportation. The hospital environment was very clean and the receptionists were very pleasant ant helpful.

Having been referred through the NHS, I read some of the reviews with trepidation but our experience was practically perfect. We waited about half an hour for my husband's appointment, but they're clearly busy and the reception staff were all friendly and helpful. When we saw the consultant, he was polite and professional, apologised for the wait, explained everything perfectly, booked a follow-up visit, referred my husband for blood and urine tests which were carried out immediately with no wait, and then sent us down stairs to book a scan -- the booking was made at our convenience the following week. Honestly, I don't know what the other reviews are complaining about. It was brilliant from start to finish.

My husband just had heart bypass surgery at this hospital and we can't thank all the staff enough. The incredible doctors, nurses and staff in theatre, ITU and the ward are all such amazingly wonderful people. The hospital is professional and friendly from the medical and physio teams to catering and administration. Another family member was treated here for the same condition 12 years ago and again they were brilliant. Food offered good choices and some healthy options for cardiac patients. It was a very quiet, relaxing hospital for visitors too. When your loved ones are being treated you have enough to worry about so it helps to have such peaceful surroundings where the staff are so friendly and helpful. The attitude here really helps speed up recovery too!

My name is Kathleen M Murphy, I am currently a patient with Consultant Mr V Gulati who is treating me for bursitis in my right hip. I feel that it is only right and proper to comment to Management at BMI London on the professionalism and giftedness of this specialist.
I have been a patient with him since March of this year and I have had the greatest possible care. I particularly want to draw attention to my experience in the following areas:
Attitude to patient - Mr Gulati shows himself to be a patient-centred professional who is most respectful. From my first visit he always greeted me by my name making clear that he had prepared for the interview, studied the scan and the accompanying notes and was aware of the dignity of his patient. I comment on this latter point because I have heard some consultants on entering the waiting area simply call out, “Next” or merely address the patient by their surname. He has always escorted to the consulting room, offered a chair and with that personal touch, asked, “Kathleen, how are you today?”
Listening skills: He has displayed not only a remarkable skill in analysing the medical record in front of him but also in listening to me as I outlined the history of my condition and the pain I had, and continued to suffer. He gave me the impression that we were in a shared partnership and journey in to a medical diagnosis and an agreed decision on the way forward.
Preparation for the procedure: Mr Gulati saw me in advance of the procedure and explained exactly what he planned to do, the outcome he expected, the care he thought I would need to take for the three days following the procedure. He then asked me what I thought about what he had done.
Physiotherapy: To my surprise, having carried out the procedure he was quick to recognise that I would need physiotherapy in getting the hip and surrounding area strengthened in order to become more fully mobile again and ready to return to my work in Chaplaincy with all patients and especially the terminally ill and dying in Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital. This physiotherapy was, and continues to be, a huge source of encouragement and support to me.
Reviewing results of procedure six weeks later: On my return for my review Mr Gulati gave me a feeling of reassurance by demonstrating that he had read his notes from the procedure which he carried out. He then queried my experience and the rate of progress following the procedure. On hearing that while there was an improvement, a lesser level of pain had gradually returned, he proceeded to offer the next step in treatment. I simply could not ask for greater care or more professional treatment.
In conclusion, I believe that I, and all those who have the good fortune to be designated Mr Gulati as a consultant, have been given a great blessing by those responsible in the BMI London independent hospital.

I had to change the review after I've been here a few times. Firstly I had a bad experience with my appointment being pushed back by quite a while but then, after being here already 3-4 times and being treated well, professionally and with care I am very happy to change my review from the initial 1* to 4*, the specialist I've seen has always been understanding and explained everything well, also the waiting times are great, not longer than 10-20 minutes tops.
I was referred by my GP to a foot specialist here as I have a painful Morton's Neuroma. 5 days before my appointment, after already waiting for month and half, they sent me a letter they had to push my appointment by a month due to unforeseen circumstances.
How in the hell is that even possible? I'd just get on with it if I wasn't in daily pain waiting for the specialist to see me and help me somehow.
I hope I'll change my review after the actual appointment but it'd have to be damn good because so far I'm just appalled and still in pain!

Due to my health condition I have been visiting BMI London Independent Hospital (Stepney Green) few times within last months. This included consultations, pre-assessments and a procedure. I am a NHS patient but it didn’t make me feel any different from the others. The team at the hospital were really helpful arranging my partners consultant in Kent to refer to one of their cardiac surgeons.

I have recently become a patient with Saira Nazeer, a respiratory physiotherapist at the London Independent Hospital. She has helped me with a lung condition, bronchiectasis, with which I've suffered for a few years now.
