Had a appointment with an access team nurse (Teri Ann). She was very kind, helpful and understanding. She had previously done a thorough 1hr assessment on me over the phone prior to making me the appointment at the hospital. She then saw me just two days later and listened to all my concerns without judgement and then offered me clear advice on what were the best options for me regarding my mental health treatment.

Daughter was on neurobehavioural ward very unwell. The nurses were absolutely brilliant. Competent and professional yet caring. They treated our daughter with patience dignity and maintained her right to family life at all times.

At a very stressful time for my family, I was so glad to have this facility, Ward 6, for my loved one the nursing care is exceptional, the staff and volunteers that make a bad time not so bad deserve a medal. I can not put into words the gratitude I have for all involved on this ward.

CLOSURE OF WONDERFUL Ward 4 of Harplands Hospital which is a vibrant, successful Unit. My husband, who has Lewy Body Dementia, is there and we were blown away by the kindness, skill and awareness of all the staff along with the environment which provides excellent quality of life while helping to assess the care for dementia patients. We are horrified to hear that the funding is being taken away from this clean, lively and perfectly designed ward and care and that the ward is due to be closed in four weeks time. As dementia is becoming the highest profile disease affecting an increasingly large proportion of the population, those of the war to post war generation, it seems an astonishing shortfall in planning and perspicacity for this to happen. Please let your thoughts and feelings on this be known to the decision makers.

In an ideal world, you won't need to come here, but if you do, it is a good place to help. My experience is only as an outpatient, but I felt that I was paid attention to and offered a real solution. I can't comment on inpatient services.
