L.Me and a friend called in shortly after the lockdown was lifted on hotels etc. A very nice young lady said we had to book and leave contact details in case someone gets the dreaded lurgy which we did. Then we had to wait to make our order at the bar (1 x tea, 1 x coffee) which is collected at a different place at the bar and we were assigned a table. We came into contact with 3 staff all of which were lovely and helpful. It might sound complicated but it wasn't and I got the impression that one of the staff was learning the new lurgy rules.
Bottom line is very pleasant 45 minutes spent in nice surroundings with good friend and polite staff. We shall return
I. M.This bar has all the usual crowd pleaser beers plus a couple of " real ales ". It's a pleasant enough place. Has a good value carvery and does a great all you can eat breakfast. It's a touch impersonal, but it's a hotel first and foremost so that's kind of normal. I like it because it basicly does what it says on the tin!!!
R. R.Extremely hot in there made it uncomfortable to sit and eat. Was told ' carvery's dawn thearrr' not shown or offered any other option off the menu as they just presumed everyone would be having the carvery. Food quite dry from being under the heaters for so long. Staff were polite and friendly other than the first little bit. The place is clean and tidy. There was a group of youths running in and out of there and through the dining area shouting obscenities while children were eating they did manage to remove them but they continued outside which ruined it staff did apologise for this to all customers numerous times.
