Room was tiny but really nicely done with some good touches. Bathroom a lot more spacious and comfortable. Hotel itself very quiet considering location and shutters made for a good night’s rest. Pantry was basic: tea, coffee, a single apple …

We usually stay at this hotel when we have an early morning flight out of Heathrow or Gatwick as there are direct trains to both. It is the perfect location between Cambridge and London. Usually we stay here and then make a night out in London since it is so close to most of the undergrounds and buses.
We usually get the smallest room (the couchette), but it is perfect size for just one night. It overlooks Kings Cross Station, so it is interesting to see the top of the station.
The rooms are luxurious, and fully equipped with everything you need.
The only downsides are the doors to enter open outwards and are automatic, so it can be a bit shocking.

Great Wednesday evening at GNH. Good variety of drinks at the bar and the staff were very nice and professionally helpful. Richard went over and beyond. I will definitely be returning soon.

Have stayed at GNH many times prior to COVID and have always had a great experience! As travel picks up, many properties have issues and challenges with delivering a positive experience! Not GNH! Excellent service from bookings through …

The hotel is very tastefully decorated and the Edwardian room which we stayed in were lovely and felt like you were staying in a train carriage. Full English breakfast was fab and the vegetarian version was excellent. Lovely coffee and cold …

We were allocated a room on the 5th (top floor) which although quite from station/street noise was affected by the constant whirring of the external air conditioning units. …

Fantastic hotel a great location. Close to the stations and the recently developed area of Kings Cross and St Pancras. Quality hotel and service. The room was great and the breakfast was 1st class. Not particularly cheap but you certainly get what you pay for here. I would definitely stay there again and again.
G.
Fabulous top quality, cooked-to-order breakfast.
Many annoying issues with the accommodation. TV remote didn't work, aircon didn't work, bathplug was broken. The room we were allocated was not what we had …

Location is unbeatable, between St, Pancrass Station and King’s Cross station. Both the room and the bed were very comfortable. There is a lack of common space. Some of the hotel facilities are more oriented for outsiders than for guests, even if nice discounts are applied.
E.
The hotel combines great levels of style and comfort, excellent service and a very connected London location. The restaurant and bar are modern inviting spaces with a nod to history and my room (couchette) was compact but comfortable, with quality finishes, perfect for a solo traveller.

Need a night in London due to some flight changes so the Great Northern Hotel was the perfect choice! …

We booked for an overnight stay for a celebration in the brilliant St.Panc area. It was a surprisingly quiet oasis in the middle of town. Simply stylish and elegant. Excellent service, beautiful building and incredible location. Cannot fault it.

This is my favourite hotel in London.
It's just so bloody cute. Rammed full of character and charm. There are even little buffet car kitchenettes on each floor with fresh cakes, pastries and drinks you can help yourself to.
Recommend staying here the night before you're due to catch the Eurostar.

Easy check in, clean and comfortable room, decent shower and easy & quick check out. Perfect for a station hotel. On previous visits have eaten at the restaurant and had cocktails at the bar - both excellent.
M. F.
Classic hotel with wonderful staff and an outstanding location for with St. Pancras or Kings Cross. Excellent location when working in the area.
C. M.
Top Location, top infrastructure, restaurant and service below the level you would expect. Food: Ok, but does not live up to the expectitions and a bit costly even for london terms. Service: Complete lack of charm, yet to the point. Overall experience: ol.
A.
Excellent stay with wonderful and helpful staff. The hotel is extremely clean and incredibly quiet in the rooms despite the very central location.
Highly recommended.
A.
Very friendly reception staff . Refurbished rooms airy hotel. Breakfast served and quickly . A very pleasant . Considering it is next to 2 major stations quiet at night too
R.
So love this hotel with the pantry at the end of each floor, the great cocktails from the ground floor bar and nice restaurant too.
With a great location by the renovated Kings Cross area you cannot go wrong.
L. R.
Lovely staff very professional, made you feel very welcome. Breakfast lovely plenty to choose from. Enjoyable stay
J. H.
Excellent service, very welcoming staff. Rooms lovely and clean. Only downside was the tv being slow but everything else was great
J.
I have stayed at the GNH since it opened. I am always treated with great respect and provided the very best service. It is one of my favorite hotels in the world.
C. C.
Perfectly located with access to Kings Cross and St. Pancras stations. Friendly staff, great bar drinks, clean and comfortable accommodations.
S.
The Great Northern Hotel is beautiful! The Staff was professional and personal! They welcomed my wife and I with open arms.
L.
Coffee stains everywhere! Currently no daily room service unless specifically requested. Shame, great location for Kings Cross and Euston stations.
M. T.
Such a beautiful hotel, a building full of charactor and history! It's well worth a overnight stay.
C. M.
I liked this place. It's convenient for a quick drink before the train and they have good service and good drinks.

Really great service from the lady on reception. We had bikes to park, nothing was to much trouble. We were lent a phone charger also. Thanks so much for the really great service. Hotel is really great inside, rooms lovely and spotless. Lights switches are a tad confusing!
Great stay - thanks again.
J.
Such great location, beautiful hotel, staff were really friendly, rooms were lovely, decor throughout the hotel is stunning. Highly recommended this hotel! Will definitely be returning.
A.
The hotel is very nice, although the entrance / reception is a little cramped. We loved our room which was perfect for our needs.
There was an issue with billing though which was very dosappointing
S.
Beautiful building, lovely decor. Lots of nice touches like custom furniture and great artwork
B. B.
Really lovely friendly staff. Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Special thanks to Visa and Andras

I stay at hotels 40-50 nights per year and most are not worth nothing. This is the best Marriott I've stayed at - and I've stayed at lots. I loved the character and style of the hotel - there was nothing bland about it. Great location - …

A great place to stay / meet or even just grab some food. I spent a night at the hotel and I would do it again and again
N.
Would consider the hotel for 4* based more on my expectations of a 5* should be. Little errors in attention to detail that make me feel this was. For example, TV remote batteries not working, conditioner in the bathroom was already open. …

Although I’ve stayed around Kings Cross for business trips, I’ve never considered this area for leisure purposes - but now I’ll find it hard to stay anywhere else. What a wonderful hotel, enhanced by the best customer service I’ve ever …

Not only Northern, but truly great hotel, despite the location. Tasteful and spacious (by London standards) rooms, particularly bathrooms. Breakfast in an upscale British setting. Loved the Barry‘s Bootcamp classes offered as a compensation for the absence of gym
J. H.
I loved the first man who checked us in. He was so accommodating and made us feel like we were at a five star hotel. The other staff unfortunately weren’t as welcoming. This hotel doesn’t have elevators up to the rooms and the rooms are quite small. The bedroom was clean, but unfortunately the bed was quite uncomfortable to sleep on even though I love firm mattresses. Really cute space and the automatic doors for the lobby are helpful when hauling suitcases. But if you have accessibility issues, this may not be the best hotel for you. The thing we loved about this hotel was the location. 3.5 stars
F. Y.
Really like the convenience, luxury, and comfort that this hotel brings. As much as the prices are slightly higher, it's very centrally located right at King's Cross Station, which helps you get around very extremely easily. If you're a Marriott Bonvoy member, you're very well taken care of by the crew. Rooms are a little small, but the historic vibes that this place brings is definitely very well appreciated. It fits 1 very comfortably, and does 2 pretty neatly too. Highly recommend especially for business trips!
C.
We stayed for two nights in a Cubitt room and wish we could have stayed longer. We specifically requested a quiet room as we are used to quiet living in a small village and this hotel did not disappoint. The room had soundproof secondary …

I really enjoyed this hotel. Everything felt like such quality. Even before I opened the door to my room I could tell it was quality given the sturdiness and quality of every detail down to the numbers on the door. I really enjoyed the location located right next to King's Cross Station. I found it convenient to get to anywhere in London. The rooms were very comfortable and had plenty of space relative to many of the other hotels I've stayed at in London. I also really enjoyed the complimentary mini-kitchens they had on the halls where you could grab a complimentary snack. This is a feature I have not seen at many hotels, and I regularly find myself craving a late snack after hotel kitchens have closed. I took advantage of it twice.
I don't think this hotel had an exercise room (at least I did not see it), but if it did I would have rated 5 stars.
S.
Excellent everything is the easiest way of saying it.
Staff are just fantastic and so so helpful …

This place is unique and elegant with a helpful, accommodating staff. The historic building--the old station masters quarters--preserved the beautifully restored wood staircases, high ceilings, and rounded hallways. The rooms are amazingly …

I travel the world through business and I have to saw, the staff in this hotel were nothing short of amazing professionals, it was an absolute privilege to stay in the hotel
K. H.
One of my favourite places to stay in London. Extremely well connected and easy to reach (unless you’re driving). Staff is always friendly and the breakfast is amazing! Clean and quiet rooms with comfortable beds.
W. L.
the reception staff are above and beyond helpful, they didn't have a meeting room but have gone out of their way to look for one elsewhere.

I have traveled to London for the past 20 years on business, so I thought to try out GNH. It is very well located and looks very nice. The staff are professional, maybe a bit distant. No upgrade for Platinum members! The reception is rather …

This is easily one of my favourite hotels I have stayed at. The location cannot be beaten - it is right next to King Cross Station so it makes getting around London very easy. The rooms are tiny but very nicely furnished. The best part of this hotel? The pantry on each floor with coffee, snacks, and candies!
R. M.
Lovely hotel. Cant fault anything. Came here for a birthday get away and I came back to a lovely surprise of champagne and chocolates! Hotel is spotless and the pantry on every floor is a great added extra. Impressive bath. Staff welcoming and accommodating. Over all....amazing!!!
b. b. D.
Great place to meet up, or wait for Train - or just to sit outside and watch the World go by. Clean and friendly Staff, especially the Doorman. Haven't stayed , but, if it's like the Bar area I'm sure it's fine. Down Stairs Gents could have been cleaner.

The Great Northern is a great hotel. The location, adjacent to Kings Cross station, makes access to public transport very easy. The styling of the hotel gives a nod to the days of "classic" train travel, but with all the modern amenities you'd expect from a 21st century hotel. One of the most unusual, yet appealing, features is the presence of a pantry on each floor. This is open 24 hours a day, allowing you to help yourself to hot drinks and sweet treats whenever the need arises.
The room itself was comfortable and quiet. As well as the pantry, the room also had a Nespresso machine just in case the trip down the corridor was too much first thing in the morning. The room service menu also surprisingly reasonable - a gin and tonic from room service in a hotel we'd stayed in the night before would have cost £8; at the Great Northern it cost only a much more palatable £3!
Overall, I'd recommend the Great Northern. It's not a cheap stay, but that's reflected in the location and luxury in the hotel itself.
M.
I was fortunate to spend multiple weeks in the GNH over the past months. I really recommend staying in this hotel. Especially the whole GNH team is very friendly and will always help. Every time I checked in, they really made it feel like …

My favorite hotel in London. Amazing location, you can anywhere in London in minutes being this close to major stations. Even if they are small for American standards, rooms are well decorated and furnished. Hotel has good amenities for business travelers such as a micro kitchen in each floor and a business center. Room service menu is top notch and there are many good options around if you aren't feeling lazy or tired. Gym is modern and includes classes at nearby clubs like Barry's at no extra cost.
I can't really complain about this hotel, it's a bit pricey but it delivers beyond expectations, I will definitely be returning to it in the future.
I.
If not specifically looking for, you may miss this gem at Kings Cross. You literally walk from your train to their door in minutes. The hotel staff are a delight, the hotel is clean, the rooms spacious and the pantry area at the end of each …

Great location. The rooms are quite small. Breakfast is good. Excellent complimentary Internet, plus a good range of movies on demand (complimentary as well). They claim to have sky sports but its clear they have not done so for several years now, so they really should have removed it from their literature.
M.
Quite a unique hotel. Very beautifully renovated. Yes, the rooms are a little smaller but they are well-appointed, modern, clean and quiet. Great neighbourhood with lots to do nearby when not sightseeing and, of course, there are excellent …

If your travels mean you need to be close to Kings Cross Station, you can’t go wrong here. This hotel is literally steps away. Rooms are small but lovely and extraordinarily quiet. The pantry has nice snacks and tea and coffee plus fresh milk for the tea. I loved my stay and would recommend this hotel without hesitation.
E. M.
I just left the GNH after my second stay there, and had a wonderful time. The pantry is such a nice touch, but for me what really makes staying there so great is the restaurant. Both dinner and breakfast are of exceptional quality, and after gorging ourselves on excellent beef wellington and a mind-blowing banoffee baked Alaska there is nothing better than knowing you only have to stumble 2 minutes to your quiet and well designed hotel room.
The staff were also excellent at accommodating my access needs which I really appreciate.
It's worth noting the hotel rooms fonts offer much luggage space so I'd recommend packing light!
P. B.
I booked The Great Northern Hotel last minute for a birthday surprise and for the convenient location to travel onwards the following day. I'd also done my homework and knew this was a well presented hotel.
On arrival the staff were very polite, welcoming and attentive. We were also upgraded which made our stay even better.
The room was beautifully furnished in walnut wooden panels that gave it a luxurious and warm feel. The bed was really comfortable and the room very quiet. A good quality TV and refreshments in the pantry also made a difference. A big thank you to the staff for making us feel so welcome for our stay.

Had a lovely stay at the Islington Hilton this weekend. My wife and I found all the staff to be helpful, courteous and friendly. Breakfast was well presented and the waiter service could not be faulted. We could not praise it high enough. Thanks all.

On the one hand this hotel has great quality common areas, halls, etc. The dining room is also very classy. The staff is super helpful. There are free VOD movies and a nice little coffee and cake area that is free access. However, three big …

The GNH greatly impressed me during my stay at this Tribute Portfolio Hotel. Despite being a "small room" hotel, there was sufficient amenities and the bed provided comfortable nights. …

Came here for breakfast while away for work. The staff were hit and miss, some were great others not so much. Our breakfast took a long time to arrive (we were there for an hour!) and was just about warm. The restaurant itself is lovely but there are a few things that could be adjusted to make the overall experience better.

The hotel has an excellent location, the rooms have a nice railway flair, which you can notice not just on the rooms, but also in the smaller details. I really loved the pantry as a space for small informal meetings, but also for Quick chats with other guests. I am generally not a fan of á la carte breakfast, but here at the GNH, breakfast was really a high point of every morning not just because of the well composed dishes and flavours, but also the staff, who were quick and polite with requests and issues. The prices are reasonable. Can definitely recommend for business and leisure as well.
S.
I gave a mixed review because of the inconsistency in the service. Its a small hotel so not much interaction with staff except the front desk. Check in was done by two fantastic girls. My room was not ready so they sent me to the bar for a …

We had a good stay at Great Northern. While the hotel is located in North London, it's extremely accessible by tube. It was very convenient having an M&S close-by. Their takeout counter "kiosk" was a great place to stop for coffee and a quick breakfast. Our hotel room was a typical size for London hotels (quite small) but the decor was tasteful and the room was clean.
j.
This place is a class act. It has the most ideal location imaginable. It sits just above the King's Cross Pancras station an international hub for trains and the London tube system. The place is soundproof so you don't hear the trains. …
R. M.
This is a really great restaurant hidden away in plain sight! The staff are very attentive without being intrusive. The food was fantastic. And best of all, if you're gluten free this place is a must! The staff are very knowledgeable of what can or cannot be adapted (most dishes can) and they are delicious!

This is a very stylish historic boutique hotel, located right at the King’s Cross station. It’s five stars but there aren’t that many amenities due to lack of space. (For instance no pool or gym, although the hotel offers free access to …
S.
We enjoyed our stay but the double room could be a bit bigger - not much space for two people. The bathroom doors do not provide much privacy. The staff are nice and the hotel is ideal for connections to Kings Cross.

Room was small but bed was comfortable and everywhere very clean. The room was quiet but no in-room coffee/tea. Very busy location, front desk staff helpful but all business. Excellent breakfast. Dinner was overpriced. Convenient location for Euston train station.
L. P.
I love railway hotels - they're so grand. Plum and Spilt Milk, the restaurant, has good food. The delivery (it took a long time) could be better, but the staff are impeccable. I'd definitely go there again. Lovely dining room.
J. J. M.
Had a fantastic time. Wonderful food and wine with excellent waiter service. Glad to be back!
V. Z.
Great location easy to get around. Loads of nice restaurants nearby. The staff are friendly. The room is nice and clean, BUT! it is very very very small. There is absolutely no space even to put my carry on luggage. If you travel with any suitcase you won't be able to move around the room at all. There's no desk for working in the room and there's no business centre or lounge area other than the pub to sit and work from.
C.
This is the 2nd time I have stayed at the Northern. If you are staying in London for a while and need a base for work - then this is the place to stay. With Kings Cross and Pancras stations on your doorstep the location couldn't be better. …

Great location right next to the EuroStar, Underground and many bus lines. Rooms on the top floor are smallish but great for a business or leisure traveler not spending a lot of time in the room. I loved my room (512) as it was very cool, dark and comfortable. The decor is a mix between an elegant train car and something out of Harry Potter. Loved my seven night stay and would definitely return.

Hi - let me start by saying that the Hotel, its location; restaurant (amazing!); bar (fantastic) and rooms are all great. We have enjoyed staying for the last 3 years for these reasons. …
S. S.
Small rooms, but comfy and clean and, considering the proximity to Euston Road, very quiet. Shutters were also excellent at shutting out light. Took 5 mins to find the entrance door. Looked more like a fire escape than the door to a hotel.
K.
It's a new Starwood property. That's why I decided to give it a try. Very disappointed. I had the smallest room I ever had at any SPG resorts for the past 9 years. The rooms face a very busy street, and you can forget about good night …

Great location, underground bus train station close by.
Room small but very comfortable
T. M.
I have seen reviews comment on the lack of storage, but the room was more than enough space for my and my partner and 11 days worth of luggage. The staff were truly pleasant to talk to. It's actually pretty quiet for being near such a busy transportation area.
T.
Stayed for a weekend - received great platinum recognition. Rooms are beautiful with soundproof windows - you literally hear nothing from outside. The pantries on each floor are nice. Breakfast had very good options. The close proximity to 6 tube lines is perfect to get anywhere quickly within London. Will definitely come back.
P. L.
Other than some very minor issues like lack of hangers we loved this place. Hotel is in a great location and rooms are very nice mixture of modern and classic styles. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be staying here again
K. M.
2nd time visiting the terrace bar and the experience was just as enjoyable as the previous one.
Met up with my cousin for late afternoon drinks. Always amazed at how the 2ndvdring seems to be quite a bit stronger than the first 🤪
T. M.
Value for money is excellent. Bed and all amenities were awesome. Anthony provided excellent assistance for my wife and I who had experienced some trauma prior to arrival. Very convenient being part of Kings Cross station. I would strongly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again next time I'm in London.
S.
second stay at this hotel. great location at kings cross. straight forward checkin. platinum recognition with upgrade to best available room. room was nice and comfy. bed is very good. love the concept with the community kitchens on each floor. staff was professional and friendly.

Hotel well situated for the station. Room clean and presented beautifully, very inviting if on the tight side, for the cost. Through the night people above or in adjacent rooms were shifting furniture for what seemed all night or perhaps it was the lift. So apart from local street noise good hotel.
Shower in our room was a double but leaked badly. Please fix.
M.
I just wanted to say that your staff was all around exceedingly helpful, friendly and accommodating. It started from my arrival, I can booked a certain room and because I has staying for a while I they staff saw fit to upgrade. After a …

Pros
1. VERY central, easy to get to
2. Clean, nice rooms
3. Staff are friendly
Con
1. The gym is 0.7 miles (I’m American)away and takes 15 min to walk to. This is mostly why I deducted stars.
2. Doors slam all night. If you get a room by the lifts, immediately go ask for a different room. This is an easy fix, they have things that soften doors shutting so kinda think there is no excuse for this....
T. L.
Not the cheapest of places but it's a hotel so you expect it. Service is hit and miss, one day it's ok the next you have to go hunting.

The most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in.

Hidden gem in London. Fully unexpected. The rooms are vert well designed and the environment is very quiet, even for being very close to a very crowded spot.
They work with top gyms (10 mins walking distance) and daily passes are complementary. If you like training properly, rest well and be in a location close to everywhere this is your place.
S.
Let me start by saying the physical property is beautiful, very well kept, and conveniently located next to the train station. If you're a Platinum and opt for the free breakfast, you won't be disappointed. In addition, the gentleman at …

Nice property in a traditional building right next to King's Cross station. The biggest challenge was locating the entrance as it's facing away from the station and is more of a house door that is labeled with the name of the restaurant. Inside you can't tell which way the lobby is and if you spend too much time checking, you'll get hit by the automatic door that swings towards you.
Rooms are nice, but very small - you'd be hard pressed to find room for more than a roll-aboard suitcase, let alone its content, meaning you'd be living out of and climbing over your suitcase at the same time.
Rooms aren't really setup to do any work: low lighting and a tiny table that doesn't have any power outlet nearby. The in room safe won't even hold an iPad.
Shared pantry is a nice touch - you can grab a chocolate or a cake.
I like unusual properties, but there's a fine line between style and quirkiness, and neither should come at the expense of convenience. For business travelers, nearby St. Pancras Renaissance may be a better fit.

Love this place! It is a boutique hotel but part of SPG! It along with kings cross station and you might miss the hotel if you don't look at the Name / hotel signs! Rooms are small compared to other SPG but has a beautiful style to it! May not the best place to stay if you want a business set up in your room! The staff were top notch! They even recommended places to visit and were extremely courteous! One of the best customer service! They have an open pantry in each floor with snacks, tea, coffee 24/7. One of the most affordable mini bars I have experienced! They have a cool and secure door service / access to your rooms!
Overall memorable experience! Highly recommended !

Fantastic location yet quiet room. …

Great hotel! Very kind and attentive staff. The room was lovely. I loved the two person shower...very unique! The location is also perfect for getting around London. I would stay here again!
A.
There wasn’t a mirror in reach of the plug socket for drying my hair this wasn’t ideal. My room had a kitchen fire access door which constantly rattled from a draft all night long.

One of the most convenient hotels located just outside King's Cross/ St. Pancras station. Location is very central and convenient to travel around London. Very friendly staff and nice room. Very nice design and good ammenities. Not to forget also the bar and restaurant. Would definitely return again next time when visiting London.
M. P.
Stylish and surprisingly quiet for such as busy location.
Rooms are great, impeccable service and the 'pantry' on each floor with hot drinks, cakes and sweets 247 is a really nice quirky touch.
It isn't cheap compared with other similar hotels nearby, but it's worth every penny.
K. B.
Cozy, elegant and perfect place for sleeping during business travel. I love the bathrooms and showers, very comfortable wide and tall beds with ample pillows. The wainscoting is just the right touch for a cozy ambience for sleeping. I got over my jet lag quickly here.

The location of this hotel was great if you're planning on using the Eurostar. It's also right on top of a tube entrance for easy and convenient access to the rest of London.
The downstairs hotel bar is small and swanky priced around 10-15$ cocktails and 20$ glasses of Macallan 12, which is a bit on the higher side compared to the nearby bars.
The room I stayed in was cozy, and there was a lounging chair and table to work on. As someone who appreciates a good bathroom, this was the only downside to the hotel. My room did not have a shower and only had a tub. This would've been OK if there were curtains or if the tub was placed in the corner instead of the middle, so of course water from bathing gets everywhere.
Overall, one of the better hotels I've stayed at in London and I plan on staying here again.

I do love the Great Northern Hotel. The staff is great. The bar and restaurant are lovey. Access to transit links make getting around town or out of town a breeze. Always cabs out front due to proximity to St Pancras. Rooms are small, quaint, but delightful.
They offer my fav product - Malin & Goetz!
Tea and snack room at the end of every floor is just what a hotel should have.
P. Z.
Extremely convenient location being across the street from Kings Cross, but really quiet once you get inside. Each room is beautifully designed and unique, albeit on the smaller side. Staff is very friendly and it's a lovely place to come back to after a day of work in London. Free a la carte breakfast for Platinum members at the award winning restaurant is a big plus!
L. D.
Boutique hotel, very comfortable and very quiet (you wouldn't know you were between 2 major rail stations). Free guest pantry on each floor, with cake, sweets and fruit. Staff were very helpful, allowing us to check in before our room was ready, and taking our luggage to put in it when it was free.
E. N.
Great location next to King's Cross, service is prompt and accommodating. Beds aren't the softest but they're adequate. Didn't get breakfast in the hotel, but the Pantry has good pastries and tea. Lots of good places to get meals nearby.
F.
My husband and I stayed here for a treat and I think I messed up a little with the booking. However your staff sorted us out as though nothing had happened. They were there when we needed them and in the background when not - thank you we …
W. M.
Only used the Front Bar/meeting area. The place was clean and Staff friendly and helpful, including the Doorman whom watched my seat and bag as I dashed into the restroom. Good place to meet up or wait for your Train.
2.
This hotel is tiny and has almost no amenities but the staff make up for it in personalized service. I had a package stored in the freezer that couldn't be located when I checked out and went into the office. The staff located the package …

GNH exceeded my expectations. It was a gem in the hectic King's Cross area. Well appointed with a delightfully friendly staff, it was a pleasure to spend time back at the hotel. I look forward to my next stay. The onsite restaurant is …
A. S.
Great hotel with beautiful decor. Good location in London as only a stone throw away from Kings Cross and St Pancras. The beds are SO comfy - didn't want to leave it in the morning.
J. J.
Slightly expensive but a really slick bar. Fantastic for dates or a quick drink before heading into a train.
Loads of seating outside which is great for a sunny day.
The staff are extra attentive. I merely stood up and was asked if I wanted a drink.
Great bar, great location.
R. O.
Upmarket bar and hotel and handy for St Pancras Station. The interior is quite special and the banquette seating outside is genius, it heats up when you sit on it! I paid a bit more than usual for a pint and a glass of wine but I had just stepped off Eurostar so I'd expect that.
For all it's gentrification and renovation King's Cross is still very raw so if sitting outside you might be asked for loose change or a cigarette, but there is always something to see, just make sure you keep hold of your valuables.
3 stars because it's a bit snooty for my liking but the staff were ok and attentive.
V. B.
The GNH is truly a special place and a gem of the city. Beautiful clean rooms and highly attentive staff. We stayed for our anniversary and the hotel arranged our favorite room. Top floor over looking kings cross. The finishing touches, roll top bath and complimentary pantry meant you can relax in luxury. I argue anyone that can find fault with this special place.
T. M.
Fantastic location literally metres from St Pancras / Kings Cross. The staff is very helpful and eager to do everything they can to meet the customer needs. We didn't eat at the hotel, but returned after dinner for cocktails in the sung bar where we had great service from the bar***.
J. K.
Super convenient hotel if you are taking the Eurostar between London & Paris. My room was comfortable and quiet. Easy to use the tube for getting around London with Kings Cross station just steps from the hotel. Ground floor bar is popular as is the restaurant on first floor.
S.
My previous stay at GNH was a little sub-par, as the convenience of the location and the comfort of the rooms were offset by the lack of service by front desk staff. …
C. B.
You're practically on top of Kings Cross station when you stay at the Great Northern Hotel. Clean and updated public areas, including complimentary access to well stocked kitchenettes on each floor. Well-maintained historic rooms with huge windows to maximize available light. A large bar on the ground floor catering to commuters, and a more intimate one upstairs for cocktails and conversation.
R. R.
Great hotel. Perfect location for transportation via subways or trains. Beautiful and comfortable rooms . Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Two minus points. Rooms are small with little space to store your cloths and the hotel has no gym.
R. S.
Excellent for a swift Martini before a delayed train. Or an orange juice.
T. S.
Lovely design hotel in a historic building attached to the King's Cross station. Beautiful decor & nice staff, but most rooms are tiny. On each floor there's a small kitchen to use for free and to get a coffee, a cake or some other sweets. Breakfast is a-la-carte and great too.
A.
It was an unexpectedly pleasant experience staying here. I was upgraded and while the room was still small, it didn't bother me because it was only me staying in my room. There is a kitchen in the hallway that has really delicious cake, candies, and coffee/tea. I've never had that at any hotel and I'm a SPG Platinum.
The location was super convenient-by the tube and shopping. If anyone is taking the Eurostar this is even more convenient. There is also a Michelin restaurant that's part of the hotel-too bad I didn't get a chance to try!
T. M.
I had the great pleasure of staying at this beautiful hotel over the weekend. I loved the amenities. It's a great location for people who need an overnight stay and want to hop off on the train early morning as it sits at King's Cross station and opposite St Pancreas.
R. C.
Nice enough hotel but NO parking, difficult access, inadequate air conditioning. My room stayed too warm after the maids came in disregarding my Do Not Disturb and opened the shades when I left them closed especially to keep the hot sun out. Sometimes you have to line up behind 100 people to get a cab right after a train arrives.
s.
I won't stay anywhere else in London when I travel to the UK, whether it's a business trip or for holiday. The location, right between St. Pancras and Kings Cross, makes it easy to get anywhere on the continent and anywhere in London …
N. S.
Lovely place, perfect bar and good staff
H. E.
fantastic hotel, great service, loved the rooms and the view. the bar and restaurants likewise. the view from the garden and our balcony also fantastic. this was the best hotel in this European holiday and I've stayed in 4. train station right behind hotel as well.
P. C.
The Great Northern Hotel couldn't be more conveniently located, right above St Pancras Station. Rooms and clean and have the some character to them, not your standard cookie cutter hotel rooms. Love the room of self serve tea and snacks, really comes in handy.
5.
I have stayed here often since the hotel was repened in 2009. Conveniently situated for the Eurostar, trains, underground and busses. Rooms are lovely with a pantry for free drinks and snacks. …
J. H.
Beautiful hotel, although the rooms are a bit small. Location is absolutely outstanding with easy access to anywhere in London. Service is nice but lacks the free bottled water I get at other SPG hotels.
T. M.
On the basis of my stay this hotel is not suitable for a tourist experience and barely adequate for transit. The rest is questionable especially for the price. We decided not to switch rooms to avoid being perceived as ugly Americans but showering on your knees to avoid flooding the room was unpleasant and slow.
I.
The hotel is small but fabulous. The location perfect. Rooms and bathrooms despite being small are well appointed. I love the toiletries. The food in the restaurant is delicious and the staff of the hotel fantastic
m. w.
The hotel is amazing. Friendly and polite staff everywhere. One of the best full English breakfast I even have. The room is clean and quiet. Very convenient that it is sitting between Pancras train and subway station.
E. D.
Cute boutique hotel situated at King's Cross station. The rooms are cozy, but definitely not generic, as you can tell there are vintage elements showing the heritage of this old-time railway hotel. The front desk staff is very courteous. I would definitely stay here again!
W.
Nice stay, clean room and very happy with the facilities
T. M.
Breakfast was served in the Plum and spilt milk restaurant again a top class team serving food that has nothing to hide. Staff was friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions on where to eat. I have stayed in the hotel before and have only chosen to stay there due to the convenient location.
D. W.
Loved the Plum and Spilt Milk restaurant at the Great Northern. Great vegetarian options, mint choc chip baked Alaska was best dessert I've had in decades. Fantastic service. Waiter asked if we were celebrating, told him daughter had just qualified as a doctor so he went straight to kitchen came back with four chocolate truffles on a dish with congratulations doctor piped onto it!
R. S.
Very beautiful hotel, located in the central area of London. The majority of the guess service representative were very pleasant and because I am from Canada they were very helpful in providing me with additional service, as well as trying to find resolution to any concerns I had. I have it four starts because one guess service representive had a bit of an attitude when she was checking me out.
T. M.
Located right across from the St. Pancras train station, we chose the hotel as its incredibly convenient for anyone taking the Eurostar. Our room was so cute just what we needed and to top it off the pantry on every floor. The breakfast is a let down as the selection is very limited and they don't so special orders.
S.
We really enjoyed our stay at GNH. The proximity to the Eurostar was very convenient for us. Our only negative comment would be that the room did not have good general lighting. It was very 'moody' but not very practical. We could not read …
E. E.
I look for a couple things when I stay in a hotel; it has to be quiet and it has to be dark. This hotel was very quiet, but my room had so much ambient light. There was a light in the bathroom that wouldn't turn off, a light in the foyer, one on the TV, one on the air controller. Total madness! I had my sleep mask, but with that many lights, it didn't much help.
But, I was pleasantly surprised by the quiet. In such a noisy neighborhood I didn't expect that. Some other things I liked:
-Free internet
-Discount at the restaurant
-Convenient location
-The bath products were among the best I've had at any hotel
-Bedding was nice
-The hall kitchen was adorable and had delightful goodies
-High ceilings
-Good quality WiFi
-There was a freaking towel warmer. I should've started with that.
Things I didn't like:
-It was a maze getting through the space
-No ice machine (obviously)
-Water pressure in the rain showerhead wasn't great (but the wall head was fine)
-They tried to up-sell me on the room at check in
Something I didn't care about, but you might:
-The room was tiny.
Book it, why not? It was pretty good!
L. M. J.
Really welcoming people. Respectful and helpful. I came very stressed out but the guy showed my room and was very pleasant. He wished me well. Highly recommended. Please continue this hospitality. Will come back again.
V. M.
Very convenient location to grab a drink or few especially if you're meeting someone and/or commuting from King's Cross or St. Pancras International. Think they have food but never tried. Right across from the Eurostar station entrance. It seems a bit pricey but it's London.
T. M.
We especially enjoyed the the pantry at the end of the corridor where you could pick up extra treats and drinks. Kind of like you're looking forward to a nice piece of cake for dessert but instead of chocolate cake you get fruitcake. Thank The Great Northern for making us so welcome.
J. Y.
Lovely hotel with great amenities, restaurant, and great location. Even though the hotel is in the Northeast section of the city, being literally on top of a major transportation hub makes it a perfect spot to stay and easily see the city sites. Also, the area that is located in has a lot of new development and good restaurant selection.
D. D.
Hotel is fairly expensive for what you get. It's a fairly old building without a pool. Our shower drain did not work really well. The upside is the employees have been very nice.
K. b.
#greatlocation right next to Kings Cross. #goodservice with a nice small complimentary pantry at the end of the hall. Small rooms and on the last day the hot water stopped working. Excellent food in the restaurant plum and milk. #yummy
a. p.
Friendly, welcoming staff. Even though it's obviously a tourist pub waiting for the train. Really polite and efficient. Bit pricy for an after work drink. But worth the ambience.
r.
If your looking for something different from SPG, this your hotel. Place in one the most connected places in London Kings Cross.. this up and coming area got some the best new restaurant around.. but also in side this hotel is a top …
S.
Hotel convenient to St. Pancras for train.
Restaurant and bar are nice …
C. H.
Elegant bustling but not noisy bar. Would go back, although service at the bar was rather slow. It also seems to be a route into the hotel, so there was a fairly constant stream of people lugging bags, so choose your seat carefully.
m.
Stayed here with family. Hotel staff all very helpful and polite, from first entry to leaving hotel. Breakfast staff all lovely and kind. Great location next to Kings X Euston and across the road from St Pancras.
S. M.
I like a bit of bling, bling now and then. What a decadent way to start my morning. Chandlers, Earl Grey tea, salmon and egg with friendly and welcoming staff.
I have been coming to King's Cross what seems like forever, have seen the many positive changes and transformation to the area.
I have eaten in a diverse range of cafes and establishments, from your £3 quid fry up to your £20 posh breakie. For me as an artist it's about the experience of a place, how it feeds the creative pallet is priceless.
Wonderful decor, and great service, it may be pricey for some, but you get what you pay for. I have found it relaxing while waiting on a train up North.
Looking at he menu it's got a fab cocktail selection, if you fancy a cheeky one, and a tantalising food menu. Has Wi-Fi and a really smart mens toilet.. Seriously!
A. L.
Nice place recently renovated with bar downstairs and then couple of smaller bars upstairs for a drink before eating. Not a cheap place by any means but food was excellent as was service. Beef Wellington was perfect.
N. P.
The decor at Plum+Spilt Milk is beautiful and the service fantastic; unfortunately the food was average, though eggs were cooked well, and - we ate on a half-price deal - not at all worth full price. Coffee and drinks were great, however.
D. H.
I was happy overall with our experience at this hotel. Room was clean, staff was helpful, and the location was conveniently by the subway. The room we were in was small for two people.
A. V.
Fantastic SPG hotel.
Staff are very helpful.
The rooms are small - cozy - but typical of London.
Very comfortable though, and clean.
If you don't mind the price, you'll be happy here.
J. D.
Room was beautiful, nice shower and bathroom, comfortable bed. Each floor included a snack and drink area. Hotel was having some construction which was very loud I would avoid until complete.
R. H.
We met a client here on the 2nd floor of the bar. It served as a great place to meet and chat, just the right atmosphere. The service was great and the interior design is beautiful. It also couldn't be more convinient for traveling from King's cross as it's practically on the platform!
M. M.
Beautiful hotel adjacent to King's Cross Station and just across from St Pancreas Station. Rooms are on the slightly larger size for the EU. Malin + Goetz bath products. Best hotel feature? The pantries on each floor with sweets, tea, coffee, etc.
T. O.
Excellent hotel with beautiful rooms, super friendly staff, lively bar in a great location. I had some problems with the AC in my room, however my rating is 5 stars anyways assuming that was a one-off.
Z.
We stayed in London at the GNH and found it to be very conveniently located between the train stations. The staff was very friendly and professional. It is an updated property, the Pantry amenity on the floors was wonderful.
J.
It is a small trendy hotel with a great though a bit noisy bar on the ground floor. The bar and the restaurant on the first floor are really nice, and the restaurant is great for branch over the weekends. SPG recognition needs improvement.
S. A. D.
Fantastic 5-Star Boutique Hotel. Stayed for a week, located across the street from St. Pancras International, with easy Eurostar destinations such as Paris, Brussels, Lille.
Management and staff exceptionally professional and couldn't do enough for you.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to one day return.
m.
Had another fantastic night here. Location is perfect, hotel and staff are top notch and can't wait to return again soon. The pantry on each floor still makes me smile every time I use it... …
C. B.
Amazing hotel. Clean, friendly, modern, convenient, Nespresso machines in the room. Worst thing I can day is that the entrance doesn't tell you which way to reception once you walk in the front door. Take a left and you'll be very lost
Z. S.
They have a nice terrace with heaters for cold time, a good bar inside and another one on the first floor plus a restaurant. Prices are not small but is the center of the city. :)
B.
Excellent location, stylish hotel, nice common areas, quiet and well appointed rooms that are slightly on the small side. Excellent staff, friendly and professional. Recommended
N. W.
Really lovely hotel. Rooms slightly small but great service and amenities. Small kitchens on each floor stocked with an array of goodies.
M. E. H.
Lovely atmosphere and food, a hidden gem in the midst of the central London hustle and bustle. Great, tasty and varied food, served by friendly and attentive staff. A place to re-visit, and meet with friends coming from all geographical directions.
C. B.
Room compact. Storage minimal and bath room lacks shelf space. TV is not internet enabled (backward.!) Very clean and convenient to KX area. Don't have large cases!
A.
Very good location.warm check in despite it was bit long.that's why the person proposed me a free drink at the bar.i have asked if I can take my beer in my room.the first waitress replied yes.but he went to ask a second person who replied no.i gave the voucher without taking any drinks. Disappointed service !
L. E.
The biggest win for this hotel is the location. It’s smack in the middle of the whole King Cross Station with easy assess to public transport and food. It’s about 30mins walk to Camden, which is a big bonus, and within the same distance to Tottenham Circus where the start of Oxford Street are.
Biggest setback is the size of the room, it’s “cosy” as they call it, is nothing more than a bed at a corner, enough moving room for 2, but the toilet seems to be more generous in relation to the space infront of the bed.
They made it up with a daily restocked pantry with u limited candies, coffees, pastries and fruits to keep you happy.
T. M.
Great location nestled between St Pancras and Kings Cross stations and just a short walk from Euston. My wife and I enjoyed even perusing around the neighborhood a bit and, of course, visiting platform. Very conveniently located over the road from the Eurostar station. Couldn't fault it and will definitely return.
A. F.
Lovely hotel, the rooms are a tad small but when you only want a bed and shower the rooms are modern and clean. Great location, near station. Highly recommend.
M. M.
Historic feel, completely updated rooms. Lovely wood floors and wainscoting. Pantry on every floor offering tea, cake, and fruit. Amazing location - next to Kings Cross.
S.
Excellent hotel in every detail. Especially a-la-carte breakfast and room design. Malin/Goetz bath amenities and small kitchen on every floor were pleasant addition. Thanks!
K. M.
Loved this hotel, amazing location right next to Kings Cross so handy for the tube and trains. Room was lovely, pretty much faultless. Can't wait to stay again!
S. K.
Nice hotel for dining, drinks and a good night's rest. Be warned, the WiFi is not so great. Never worked on my Android/Pixel. Technical support was lacking.
H. L.
Nice clean room. The room was quite small, but it was perfectly fine for 1 person during two nights. The safe is too small, doesn't fit a laptop.
f. f.
One of my favourite places to go for a long weekend..
This hotel is so stylish especially if you book one of their special rooms.
Expensive but worth it for that special occasion...
C. T.
Really nice and spacious rooms in a good area of London. Great restaurant and the waiters remembered us which was a nice touch Although it is located right at Kings Cross it is surprisingly quiet inside.
Y.
Location is perfect for those who enjoy staying in London. Actually, I could go to the theatre to see some Musicals very easily from this hotel taking the tube.
G.
Pros: SPG-Marriott status recognized with upgraded room and check-in options.
Cons: carpet a bit dirty, window curtain/rod broken, charged for minibar item I did not consume …
K. S.
Great hotel, and excellent SPG Platinum recognition. Pantry on every floor with cake for the taking! Full breakfast in the restaurant and you can order anything you'd like for the Platinum amenity.
T. S.
Good quality hotel and excellent rooms.
A. F. A. W.
Nice hotel. Small rooms but clean and orderly. At the time of my visit the Entrance and Reception were being renovated which made access to the hotel was a bit difficult.
M. M.
Only went to restaurant (upstairs) and the bar.. great location, lovely place, really nice bar menu. Creative cocktails!! Good food in the restaurant, but pricey.
T. W.
Small rooms but probably standard for London. Surprisingly quiet though next to a train station. Every floor has a complimentary pantry with tea coffee and cake.
T. P.
Well priced, great locations, nice bar
T. S.
Great staff. The room is very cool motor coach inspired the pantry available to guests was a nice surprise. Great location to get around. Lots to do around.
R. d. G.
Great, convenient location. Right above King's Cross station so loads of transport links available. Rooms are clean and the pantry is well stocked for late night munches.
E. S. S.
A pleasant place to get a drink while waiting at the station. Rather expensive, as one would expect, and service can be slow at busy times. Dogs not allowed even in outdoor area.
P.
Beautiful renovation and exceptional service. Elegant simplicity and an unbeatable location. Love staying here. Ps.. the breakfast is phenomenal
S. T.
Nice rooms good service and modern amenities. Very close to lots of food places and transit. Recommend this place for people looking for a nicer room in an easy to access location.
C. S.
Wish I could give more than 5 stars! I come to London for work often, and I've previously stayed at the St. Pancras (which was okay - nothing special, not memorable). It was full so I stayed at The Great Northern on my most recent trip. WOW....I can't even put into words the difference. I am SO SO impressed with this hotel, from the staff, to the rooms, to the restaurants and Anthracite Lounge. Everyone here went above and beyond to make my stay memorable (from the moment I arrived and was shown my room, to the day I left and the hotel organized my black cap to the airport). They were very friendly, thoughtful, and honestly, felt like family towards the end! I ended up staying an extra two days because I did not want to leave, and so glad there was availability to stay at GNH! Can't recommend this place enough, and I would encourage you to get to know the diverse staff. They all have clear experience in the industry and are experts at making your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Thank you to everyone at GNH!! :)
S. W.
Shower water temperature takes ten minutes to heat up, once is reaches scalding it cannot be cooled. Otherwise rooms clean and comfortable
L. F.
Stayed here two nights in their suite on the fifth floor. Awesome service. Great recognition of SPG platinum status and central location. Boutique hotel with a fascinating history.
a. t.
SPG group so I had a certain level of expectations, only to find that this hotel entrance was so hard to find and the way to get to your room was like a maze, too. The rooms were much smaller than expected. The closet only allowed for jacket-length clothes only... The lighting was very dark...especially where the sofa was, there was no light shedding light to that area :(
T. F.
Great location and above par service. This hotel exudes the charm of a railway hotel. Staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel bar was very good and the onsite restaurant, though pricey, is very worth it.
J. B.
A lovely atmosphere and a very convenient location by Kings cross station. I would definitely recommend
