L.I read bad reviews for this hotel and I must say they were totally and absolutely wrong!!!! We had a lovely stay. Room and bathroom were extremely clean. Staff extremely helpful. Only issue, the air conditioning wasn't working. Convenient to the tube, lovely area, Kensington gardens entrance only a few steps away.

On check in I found the reception staff's command of English wasn't 100% so it was a little difficult to make myself understood.
The room itself was basic, which is fair enough with a budget hotel. However, the finish of the decor was poor. The laminate flooring was poorly fitted and the furniture looked tired. In a contrast to this the en suite bathroom was finished to a better standard. A big negative was the air conditioning. The display was flashing an error message upon my arrival. I queried it with the front desk to see if someone could take a look at it for me. I was told that the air conditioning throughout the hotel didn't work but was told where the switch was for the ceiling fan. With the high ceiling I found the effect of the fan negligible.
The bed was comfortable with a nice duvet. I had a good nights sleep.
The hotel has a pool but their description of it as a spa is a little much. It is a pool and a sauna. There are no locker facilities to secure your belongings.
Breakfast is very good with a good selection of warm foods, pastries and cereals available at the buffet. Along with a self service hot and cold drinks. Although the decor again is a little tired in the dining area.
Overall, it is a good hotel with the plus points outweighing the negatives. If you can get past the down sides it a good hotel to stay in London on a budget. The building needs a little care and it could score higher.

K. S.On the positive side, the hotel is very close to Hyde Park. Easy access to public transport as well tube. Hyde Park is a great place for a brisk walk. On the negative side, the rooms are too small as well dated, the carpet is in a bad condition. Service levels are not great. The check in experience was poor but check out was okay. Breakfast is okay but pricing is slightly on a higher side. The service levels as well room quality is very poor for the tariff. The lift particularly horrible!!!
G. D.Very clean, well presented hotel room. Not the lap of luxury, but very comfortable, and had everything I needed for my stay. Including complimentary drinks and wash things.
Barely a 2 minute walk from Hyde Park, and less than 5 minutes walk from a number of tube stations.
The only fault is that because its an old building, the walls are fairly thin and the floors are creaky, which did unfortunately disturb my sleep. However, this wouldn't put me off booking it again, or recommending to a friend.
L. G.The location of this hotel is fantastic. Our room was clean, but very cramped. Breakfast was standard hotel fare, and the pool is nice and warm. The interior desperately needs a remodel, as it is very shabby, but if you're going to be out all day and sleeping in the hotel I would recommend it (but maybe look elsewhere if there are better options for the price). It looks very nice from the outside but gets worse and worse as you go further in. The staff were all very nice and helpful during our stay.
E. P.From what was on the website (and what I saw of the outside!), I expected it to be a lot nicer. The interior is dated, and our room was right next to the lift - more annoying than you'd think. Our room was absolutely miniscule, use of space was poor and it again was dated. Same in the bathroom. It was like a double bedroom in a small caravan, but we paid over £80 for a night! We checked out early, and staff also seemed annoyed to be there. Not particularly welcoming, and I'm not sure how it's a 4 star rated hotel - I've stayed in 4 star hotels, and I'm afraid this wasn't quite enough.
T. M.Our room was clean. Place lacks any love or personality despite the awesome staff. The location of this hotel is great, right in Westminster. Convenient to stores and The Tube. I think this could be a good hotel, but until it's refurbished and improved I would certainly remove the extra star.

The Hotel offers good value for Money and the Swimming pool and Sauna are an extra feature well worth it. The parking around the Hotel can be difficult. Best to come at weekends when there is free parking nearby
The Breakfast Menu is rather basic
The Double standard room has all amenities but may appear crowded .
The Bathrooms are basic but clean .
The corridors and lift especially are on the narrow and small size.
The Reception and Staff personell area mainly Non Native English speakers and communication can be difficult.

Stayed here with my mum :).
Unfortunately some of our plugs wouldn’t work, and the A/C was broken.
However, the pool was great and we’ve had a pretty good night sleep :)
N. D.Stayed one night - two people. Room 106 was fine! There are some run down bits, but the important part, like your hotel room, was fine and safe! Good price, value, and a safe stay.
Pros: Comfy bed, felt safe, nice ceiling fan and open window, clean shower and bed linens and the space was fine for a central London, low-cost hotel. It’s on a quiet street full of other hotels and hostels and two blocks from Hyde Park and 10 min walk from Paddington Station.
Cons: Lobby is run down, smells bad and just isn’t welcoming, Other guests slammed their doors, The A/C unit was turned off so couldn’t try to see if it worked. WiFi is very slow and not recommended for Business travelers for those who might need to work. In-room safe did not work properly.
T. M.Room was small. I think this is very poor value for money. Service was generally good though reception lacked warmth. From check in to check out, the staff at this hotel were so friendly and helpful. The location was good where the Paddington station was just a 10 minutes walk and I took the Heathrow express back to the airport.
T. M.We booked a 'basic double room' and were very impressed with the room when we arrived. We didn't use the pool but checked it out looks lovely and will definitely use on a future visit. The hotel is well connected to public transport such as different tube stations and buses.
A. B.I stayed at the hotel for two nights, the hotel room was quite small, but clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel does not have aircon in every room (even if the unit is installed it is not working), however the ceiling fan worked just fine. Be aware that the building is old and has thin walls. You can hear people walking and talking. Nevertheless the price was good, the breakfast offered everything you need for a start into the day. And the hotel pool opens until 11pm. I didn't use the pool however, so I cant say anything else about that. The location is clean, feels safe and has lots of restaurants in walking distance of the hotel. With the Queensway station the central line runs close by. It takes a bit more than 1 hour to get thete from gatwick airport. I have been in better hotels, but for the price I would definitely go there again.
K. K.When i resd the reviews after i booked a room at the hotel i was really worried about the stay. However, i was quite happy in the end. The rooms are tiny and indeed not thw most modern ones, but i was there to sleep and be on my way. It was clean and worked fine. Maybe instead of dated you could call it vintage.... the staff was always friendly throughout the stay and the breakfast was delicious with fresh fruits though stay away from the scrambled eggs. Overall, in any other location i would say it is overpriced for what you get, but we are talking London here... and this is right outside of hyde park close to the Kensington palace.

S. G.Hotel was decent for the price and had breakfast included, as well as access to a swimming pool. The facilities in the room were basic but this was expected. There was a TV in the room too with plenty of channels. About a 5-10 minute walk to nearby restaurants

The guy on reception was most helpful. Will definitely stay again at this wonderful find in the centre of London.
s. k.A delightful stay. Can warmly recommend. Location is insanely good with bus and subway right next to it and of course hyde park. There are also multiple local food and wine stores 50 meters away. Staff was friendly. Room had everything I could ask for. Bit small though. A nice big breakfast. And we had the swimmingpool for our self for over an hour. The water is warm and the pool is fairly big.

T. F.Stayed at the end of October. The staff were friendly and approachable at reception and especially the breakfast supervisor. The double room was a bit cramped but this is London after all and no worse than other London hotels I have stayed in. Cleanliness was ok, public areas were clean but the room needed the floors washed. Breakfast was lovely each morning. Location was excellent - close to Bayswater for restaurants and other shops like Tesco plus two tube stations and Paddington a ten minute straight walk.

But not the worst either, yes the rooms are pretty small but the decor around the rest of the hotel is second to none, yes the pool is very small and the sauna is more lukewarm rather than hot, but the staff are lovely, well-mannered & polite. I won't be staying here again unfortunately although the scenery and area is beautiful, I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you are looking for a quick one night stay.

s. s.Ok for the price and location. Some trouble with check in. The phones in the room do not function well. The bar is open from 8pm-11pm. Breakfast included with 3+day stay. Small business center for faxing. Pool and sauna area closed upon arrival. Other than that if is ok for short stay 4days. Small elevator, no ice machine or mini fridge. Main level has small water fountain for tea, water and coffee.
H.Clean rooms and good facilities considering the price and location. Toiletries need an upgrade to shampoo and conditioner. Early afternoon reception staff could've been more attentive, but breakfast service was quick and food alright with a selection of warm and cold food. Very close to Hyde park.

K. H.Don’t expect to be impressed and it might well exceed your expectations. For one of the cheapest rates in the area you get what you’re paying for. Furnishing and decor which is half a century outdated, marks on the walls and handles which are loose. You’ll probably have a wonky toilet seat and a leaky shower, but at the end of the day the bed is clean and in the morning the breakfast has enough to satisfy anyone. 5 mins walk from two central line stations and an 8 min walk from Paddington, I would recommend to anyone staying for a couple of nights and working on a budget.

A little noisier than what I prefer but its not everyday that you can entertain yourself by listening to a couple in the room next door in the throws of passion and this 'came' at no extra costs.

D. P.Stayed here for business for a log period, overall its ok, lovely area, ok rooms, missing fridge in room, staff ok too. Reception never seems to be covered unless there's someone actually waiting to be attended, called the reception line numerous times whilst staying here from the room and not once i receved an answer, no one ever picked up the phone which was quite frustating. Cleaning service was a 6, found dirty sheets twice and even though we know we can have a tough day at work, like we all do, it's not nice to complain about it in front of a guest let along complain about having to clean your room like one of the cleaning ladies did. I do have to say that everytime i needed something if i actually went downstairs to ask for it, they were happy to help me
O. J.Old hotel without air-conditione rooms or non functional air conditioning. Clean rooms and helpful staff but do not select the smallest rooms if your two because thy are really small and it is not a standard double bed. Otherwise you get what you pay for. A plus is the pool :) if you like that kind of thing.
T. M.I decided to take a shower and then try to relax to shut my grim surroundings out. The double room was smaller than most single rooms I have stayed in. Bedroom flooring was cheap vinyl. Good location near Lancaster Gate and near enough to Mayfair. Be advised you get what you pay for.

For the price though, you can't find fault, especially given its location and the fact that it has a pool!

B. M.(Translated) I loved it when I went with my mother. The staff were absolutely wonderful and very friendly and made a huge effort to try to speak to us in French or we do understand English what they were saying.
During breakfast was great and there was especially halal food on the buffet so accessible. Great pool a bit small but nice and heated, a small sauna is also available, that's cool.
The rooms are a bit dated side decorations etc but the location and the hotel itself which is, and for the size I think it is sufficient when one is 2.
Honestly I really have no problem with this hotel. If I have to return to London it will be in this hotel.
Not to mention they have helped us to travel and even helped us find and buy tickets for the activities we wanted to do

J’ai adoré cet hôtel quand j’y suis allé avec ma mère. Le personnel était vraiment adorable et très sympathique et faisait un effort énorme pour essayer de nous parler en français ou alors nous faire comprendre en anglais ce qu’ils nous disaient.
