Perfect location close to Tower Bridge. This modern hotel is well priced and offers just what you need for a short stay. Rooms are very compact, so not fit if you need to work a lot from the hotel. No gym .
N.
Nice and clean, very friendly on the reception and very helpful. They moved us from flor 13 to floor 3 as my wife doesn't do lifts. Can't comment on the food as we have eaten out for all our meals so far.
A. V.
Probably the best hotel to find in value for money category.
Top location.
Clean fresh rooms.
Modern.
Recommend to book with the hotel directly.
I was very fortunate to get the room with the best view available (15.07) and I hadn't even booked specifically with a view request.
Staff excellent.
Breakfast. There is everything you need.
Location is so good with regard to everything.
It's brilliant.

Motel One has standards that can be met at all their premises, thus including the London Tower Hill. Staff is welcoming and friendly and nonetheless professional. I checked in earlier than due time and they found a way to accommodate my needs. The quality/price ratio is outstanding in such area in London. It's perfect for business trips.

The rooms are what you come to expect from motel one. Good bed and towels but the rooms could be a bit cleaner. The biggest disappointment for me is definitely the breakfast though. It comes nowhere near to the standard that one might be used to from German motel one's. If breakfast isn't a big deal for you see this rating as 4 stars.
E. G.
Good little room for a few nights. Great location and friendly staff.
Bed was really comfortable and bathroom was nice spacious and good shower! Overall a great stay.
V. M.
Nice hotel in a convenient area! Modern design, cleanliness everywhere, the room is very quiet. In the morning you can have breakfast with a choice of quality products. Impressions about this hotel are only positive, I want to come back here! Many thanks to the hotel staff for the excellent service and comfort during your stay at this hotel!
P. F.
I agree with Meser Me the breakfast is just not up to German standards. The room views are ok but nothing special unless you like office building workers watching you. Location is ideal for the city. Price is good for London. Staff are friendly and attentive but rooms are just nothing special for the price, poor storage, boxy and claustrophobic. Cleanliness was not up to standard during covid times so a minus point for this.
T. F.
How surprised was I! Really great hotel. I expected a bit of a dive at these prices, but really good. Okay, it's not the Savoy, but it's well appointed, very clean, modern and contemporary and certainly comfortable for a couple of nights
F. M.
Nice big room and clean.
Negatives - no gym, no late checkout, no phone in the room, no fridge in the room
I would only recommend this for over night stays - not more than that
G. B.
Good clean hotel in a central location. Rooms are a little small so don't expect to use them for much other than sleeping. Staff were friendly and the price was value for money when staying in a central London hotel.
M. A.
Absolutely lovely hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was excellent with a comfortable bed and really good shower.
The bar area is beautifully decorated and comfortable, with a relaxed atmosphere.
Can't wait to stay again.
Q. R.
Really good quality of room and facilities and comes at half the price you would pay in hotels nearby. Great location too!
S. M.
Enjoyed my stay, the bed was big and comfortable however I had issues with the air con and the reusable paper cups for tea/coffee in the room weren't appropriate for the price of the room.
F. E. J.
Great Motel One. The location is amazing. Great staff. Breakfast was good, not as many healthy choices as in other Motel Ones but still very good.
R. M.
Apparently rather eco friendly and BREAAM Qualifiedv which is a big plus. Small rooms unless £££ but a good hotel if you enjoy Motel One. Happy to stay again.
J. d. L.
The hotel is two minutes from the Aldgate Underground Station, very comfortable bed, beautiful city views and super friendly staff (especially Grégorie, he was very kind and attentive!). Have been here twice already and I will keep coming back here when I’m in London - I can only recommend this hotel!
A. W.
pleasant hotel - though rooms.a quite small if you are there for more than a couple days.
Would be nice to have towels that you can fit round our waist
S. S.
Very comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Friendly staff at check-in with very little queuing.
M. B. M.
Great hotel, good location, amazing staff and very comfortable bed.
Highly recommended.
t. m.
Lovely friendly staff and great location. Hotel is very clean. Beds very comfy. Only reason lost a star was due to fact that there are no windows that you can open for fresh air and it makes rooms feel very stuffy.
E. I.
Had a great experience. The hotel is nice, clean and quiet. The bar is nice as well
L. C.
Comfortable hotel..very modern and clean...friendly, helpful staff. Always enjoy staying here.
T. M.
Lovely quiet place, very clean , bed very comfortable and staff were lovely, helpful and friendly.
M. B.
Nice and clean Hotel, friendly Staff, well located. 👍🏽
A. P.
A very nice place. Great relaxing atmosphere at the lobby and the bar. Very nice rooms.
P. L.
Great value for money..we'll situated. staff very helpful
T. F.
Environment and atmosphere: modern, but always functional design of furniture and areas.
Rooms: absolutely clean, pleasant, modern accommodation, guaranteeing high level services to guests, such as teapot and a wide selection of high quality tea.
Great view on the City.
Breakfast: wide selection of high quality food, both sweet and salty, for an amazing international open buffet breakfast.
Location: two steps away from both Aldgate and Tower Hill stations, very easy to reach.
Payment: payed both by card and cash (I have been the three times!).
Staff: very kind and professional personnel, speaking different languages, able to welcome and support guests in a great way whenever needed.
Services: as far as I know, teapot in the rooms, newspapers at the hall, laundry if requested.
Price, due to both location and the level services, is consequently high.
K. G.
The place is very modern and up-to-date. We're only rating them three stars because when we arrived they gave us a disabled room. Usually that wouldn't be a problem we thought the size was very nice and the bathroom was big but there was only a shallow tub and you were expected to use the sprayer to wash with no curtain both of us ended up getting the floor soaking wet. Now the staff was great and they did move us upon request and gave us a higher room with a view. By American Standards most rooms in England are small and they're not big on the little bottles or soaps of anything. We did not have it but it looks like the continental breakfast was fantastic with a large assortment of meats pastries hard boiled eggs juices excetera.
M. O.
Everything was great, rooms were clean, modern and well equipped. The location was perfect for me, lots of shops nearby and very easy and fast connections to the city center. Easy check- in, you just have to inform them if you arrive past 11pm.
Most importantly though, the staff was beyond friendly and helpful! Very very professional and definitely try to make everyones stay as relaxed as possible.
S.
Perfect location, great standard of cleanliness. Awesome views
M. D.
Reception area warm , comfortable and inviting
C. M. G.
Stupid name but great hotel! Very comfortable, clean and excellent value. It had a nice lounge area. Location is ok if you're working nearby but far from main areas like Soho, however close to London Bridge and Tower of London. There were some great bars and restaurants nearby and it was walking distance to the train.
M. H.
You're not going to find much better for your money. Location was great, just a short walk to Aldgate underground station, and it was very luxurious without breaking the bank. Yes, it is a very small room and didn't have closets, but that wasn't a huge deal for me. We didn't have breakfast during our stay, but it looked pretty standard, and cost 10 pounds if purchased separately. The bar and lounge area was always vibrant in the evening, and the staff was friendly and willing to check us in early after a long flight from the USA. If you're looking for something with more amenities and space, you might want to reconsider, but if you're on a budget and looking for a great place to stay in London I would highly recommend Motel One.
D. M.
Great location. Clean. Modern. And comfy beds.
C. B.
Nice hotel, some of the receptionists also speak German. The breakfast is also in German style but totally delicious.
Room was nice and clean, bed soft and comfy. Bath was clean.
It's near a subway so you have kinda good connection. At all price was good, service and food perfect.
Would come again
H. G.
Exactly the same as Motel Ones in Germany. No frills good rooms. Very clean and comfortable beds. They even have European power outlets in the rooms which is a nice touch in case you forgot to bring a UK adapter. Staff very friendly on check in / out. Hotel is located close to different tube, bus, train and DLR stations making it easy to get to wherever you need to go. In case there is too much going at breakfast time there is a Starbucks, Eat and other cafes close by.
C. L.
Good hotel to stay at for work. Its walking distance to City. Breakfast options are fairly tight, rooms are clean and tidy. Not much options in terms of channels to watch on the TV compared to citizenm where you have movies on demand. Service is good. The city view rooms are pretty good... It's worth asking for a free upgrade.
B. L.
Great Hotel, clean, quiet, good staff, comfortable rooms, nice breakfast
g. r.
Really nice rooms, very modern and the bed was very comfortable. Only things I can say against them is the rooms are a but small and the windows can't be opened but there is air conditioning in the rooms so it's not a big issue. Overall a great experience, great location as public transport is very close.
R. L.
Recently stayed for two nights. Top hotel with excellent staff. They allowed my bags to be dropped off before check in time and even offered a room before my allocated check in time. Room was on the small side but still wet comfortable. Excellent tv and bed with nice views. Hotel was very clean. The location is excellent with plenty of local places to eat drink and see. It's worthwhile pointing out the excellent drink selection in the bar serving very high quality wines a d spirits. Only a continental breakfast available so had breakfast elsewhere. Would definitely visit again.
E. M.
The location is perfect! Also the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! Staff are always smiling and greeting you. The bathroom does not have ventilation though and became steamy really quickly, space for clothes is limited.
T. H.
Amazing hotel, the look from outside was decent, the reception/bar area was modern and clean. The rooms a tad small and would have liked to been higher up, but we can't moan.
Will definitely be back, compared to other local hotels I'd definitely pay the extra to come here again.
K. P.
We had one of the best stays ever. Very friendly team, great and clean room, awesome view and a wonderful service made our honey moon trip unforgettable! Thanks for everything! We are looking forward to come back some day...
O.
Nice, modern, clean hotel like all Motel Ones I have been to. Great WiFi and modern TV with lots of channels.
Good location near London Tower and Tower Bridge. Two tube stations nearby plus bus stop right in front of the hotel.
K. D. S.
During my business trip in London I stayed in Motel One. The view of my room was amazing. Very nice and clean hotel. The people at the reception were very kind. We enjoyed our stay, will come back.
E. P.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It has everything you need, rooms aren't big, but big enough, but most importantly, staff is absolutely wonderful. From the person checking me in to the lady at breakfast, everyone was kind and helpful. Would definitely be back!
L. B.
Class and Excellence on every level!
If it wasn't for the excellent staff I wouldn't of had such a fantastic time on my trip!
The room was open, clean, and simple in its luxury feel. The bathroom was gorgeous, clean tiled, fresh towels every day, perfect facilities!
There were plenty of well placed energy points. The tea and coffee options, also refilled daily. I would only be staying here for location, facilities and experience in future!! This is a truly diamond hotel and I can't review it high enough to give the praise it deserves!!!
C. O.
The location of the hotel is handy to the tube & buses. Minimalistic decor & very clean. Only thing I missed was not having a fridge for chilled water. Staff very helpful & friendly. Would bring my own coffee next time as they only provide free trade brand.
I. F.
A little German oasis in fancy London town....
Good value for London and the same high quality service with friendly and attentive staff as my last stay in a motel one in Munich. Plus you have a wide range of TV so if you a desperate to catch up on the biathlon after watching match of the day you can!
Excellent location and the rooms in the tower as very quiet so a peaceful night's sleep on the usual, great bed is pretty much guaranteed. Several tube stations are nearby and the river is easy to walk to and gives you great views of the South Bank.
Breakfast is continental and that's great as you'll find loads of places to eat out and the bar offers a chance for a relaxing drink before you head out or even when you roll back in.
E. L.
Great location! Very friendly staff and kitchen! The food and rooms were quite decent. Wish there was a pool, and had a mix up with my laundry otherwise was a nice stay.
B. S.
Good and clean rooms in the Motel One standard we know from several stays in Germany. Helpful and even German speaking people at reception. Breakfast is a bit crowdy but worth the price. Reservation via email was quick and easy. Location in 5 minutes walking distance is just great for sightseeing in London. We enjoyed our visit, recommend the hotel and will visit again.
L. M.
This is an extremely modern feel hotel which is very clean and comfortable. My room wasn't huge but it was adequate for 1 overnight stay. The price was good and it was very local to the tube. There are plenty of local bars and restaurants. The hotel reception staff were very helpful and friendly. I would stay here again without hesitation.
D. C.
Main floor/bar area is very nice and has a lot of effort put into it however the rooms are more on the basic side and had a funny smell. Bed was comfy though and suited my needs for a short stay. If a longer stay was needed I would probably look elsewhere.
S. L.
Highly recommendable, if your looking for a hotel with neat rooms for a reasonable price. Rooms are usually ready at 3pm (day of arrival), check-out should be finished at 12 noon the day you depart. Breakfast for 9,50 GBP is offered daily until 11 am (at least on weekends and they really start to clean up at 11 am; guess that's where you see the German origin ;)). It is a buffet, mostly cold stuff only hard boiled eggs are kept warm. Anyway, the Pastrami they had was some good stuff! Something very important for me: also the coffee is good. Staff is very friendly, partly German speaking.
D. B.
Very central Motel One, located in walking distance to the underground stations Aldgate East Station, Aldgate Station and Tower Hill. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is very good and you'll find a variety of food and local products.
A little minus point for the size of the rooms, but since this is hotel chain with standart rooms, fully understandable.
F. D.
Super service. Had some questions, but everything was handled excellent!
The room with the city view is just fantastic. And thank you for the upgrade!
If I had to say something; the only thing I could find is the taste of the morning coffee which wasn’t to my liking. But this will not keep me from 5 stars!
C. D.
Great value. Staff are lovely and considering the great location and good quality clean rooms the price is really good. Breakfast options are limited but given the area you are spoilt for choice. Really nice restaurant next door where u get discount as a guest. Would highly recommend.
D. P.
Reception area was nice and very efficient. Rooms were clean and reasonably decorated but on the small side and quite sparse in terms of furniture. No wardrobe, just hangers and a small desk/chair and bed. Toiletries in bathroom, air conditioning and a decent TV and at AC price that is very reasonable for the area.
B. F.
The hotel was fantastic, spotlessly clean, contemporary and quite. The rooms small but adequate and very well thought out. The staff were excellent-They were polite, friendly and helpful. The staff made the stay both relaxing and very enjoyable. I will definetly be staying in this hotel on my next visit to London. A big thank you to all the staff at the One motel Tower Hill London.
N. A.
My recent visit to London was enhanced greatly by a wonderful stay at Motel One Tower Hill. Everyone on staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and over the course of nearly three weeks I always felt that I had friends to talk to, not just staff who worked at the hotel. I was made to feel very much at home.
The decor of the lobby and the rooms is very European, modern and stylish.
The location is excellent in the City; a 5-minute walk will take you to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. The hotel is also very close to two Underground stations and an overground line. Anywhere you wish to go in London can be easily reached from Motel One.
The room was very comfortable and had enough space for all I needed. I was surprised, however, that it did not have a phone.
The breakfast buffet is excellent (costs extra) but the menu for a small meal or snack in the afternoon/evening is very limited.
I found this hotel through the internet on a travel booking site and decided on it partly because it was within the price range I was looking for. I've seen this hotel described as "budget", but that would only refer to the cost. The quality of the staff, service and the accommodation is far above "budget"!
I would very happily recommend this hotel to other travellers, and the next time I come to London--which I plan to be sometime next year--I will certainly stay at Motel One Tower Hill again.
S. C.
Very nice, modern and clean typically motel one, near the bank destrict. Bus stop in front, 2min to underground. A lot of very good restaurants near by. Small rooms - but we liked that. Friendly and professional service. Very nice housekeeping as well. Our tip: if you want a damn good breakfast, don't stay in the hotel. Go outside, take your breakfast there where the locals do: Peter's Cafe. It's on the opposite side of the underground station aldgate (2min from hotel).
M. O.
The hotel is situated quite central at a very nice location. The rooms are clean and nicely designed. The hallway is welcoming as well and invites for an evening drink or two. Restaurants are very close by, just a couple of meters to each side of the hotel. Good service.
F.
Great business hotel, enjoyed my stay a lot. Rooms with a view are amazing. Breakfast was better two years ago, if I remember correctly. Quality stuff, not quantity, selection could be better!
D. J.
Surprisingly good. Bar not 24/7 sadly
K. F.
Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff plus a comfy bed means a high rating. Would have had 5 stars but for the need to keep an eye on your breakfast as things tend to get tidied up quickly! Wouldn't stop me coming back, though.
j.
Cheap by London standards, but that's it. We were three guests in different floors and all of us got a disability bathroom, not a deal breaker but not comfortable at all. On the plus side the bed was really good, big and with plenty of pillows.
S. L.
Budget hotels in America don't look anything like this! Motel One was recommended to me and I stayed there for two nights during my first trip to London. Being alone in a new place, I was a little wary, but upon walking inside I was immediately impressed. The bar/lounge area (which is also a breakfast area in the mornings) is stylish and welcoming. The front desk staff were very helpful and nice. The room was small, but it's hard to complain when I just needed a place to crash--and it was also very clean and the bed was comfy. I do wish there had been a coffee maker in the room, however!
M. H.
Very clean and modern. Last stay didn't have any issues with noise. Probably the only potential issue is that the breakfast option is a bit lacking and you need to pay for it, but it's easy to just eat out. Otherwise a solid hotel in London.
D. G.
Spent three nights here in October 2019. Loved it! Clean, modern room. King size bed. Quiet. Amazing location. Helpful staff and cool decor. Looking forward to staying here again!
D. E. H.
I'm very satisfied with that hotel, the staff was very friendly, the location was very clean and the hotel lobby was really comfy too. The room was just fantastic with a great city view and very clean too. It is also located near by two subway stations and bus stations.
S. H.
Nice city Centre based hotel; quick and friendly check in. The rooms a modern, very comfortable but small. Our room was well maintained and clean except for a broken light and a dust filled ventilation in the bathroom. We will def bee back.
W. L.
Comfy and clean rooms with a very modern style. Plenty of tv channels for you to browse at night. Bathroom wasn't cramped unlike some other London hotels but the modern shower area with no door meant that some water was going to end up on the floor.
If you're here for business or on a holiday and want to upload your snaps, you won't be disappointed with the internet either.
Breakfast in the morning is in the lobby which is very stylish and also a great place to have a drink and wind down. Free candy in the lobby is also a plus!
S. H.
Having stayed at this chain in Germany, I knew what to expect from them in London. This is amazingly well located and priced for my London office, and maintains the same chic lobby and design ethic. The hotel is clearly a repurposed office building, which made the layout of my room a little odd, but it was plenty big enough. It was also, without doubt, the quietest hotel I have ever stayed in in London. I will be using this place again
R. P.
I may be just lucky but I got a room at the 15th floor with magnificent view. From Canary Wharf to the Shard - a beautiful view was filling my room - I could not stop starring! Hotel is clean, inexpensive and the location is great. Very basic breakfast but I actually liked that!
A. H.
Excellent hotel for business trips. It is quiet, the staff are friendly, rooms are nicely decorated. The only drawback is no hot breakfast, which makes their breakfast poor value, so I just find local alternatives
R. S.
Great hotel. Compact yet luxurious rooms make staying away for a business trip a pleasure. Breakfasts are fantastic and a really nice and chilled atmosphere. Would definitely stay again.
c.
During my last 2 day business stay I fully enjoyed my stay. The room is adequate in size and the shower gives you a lot of space without having water all over the bathroom. The windows are new and keeps all noice out enabling you to have a good night sleep. For people taller than 185 cm, you will have to loosen the bedlinen so that you can stretch out your feed. This is the only minus I can come up with. Some times the price can be high and you would normally see that breakfast is included when the price exceeds £ 155 per night.
D. “. M.
Stayed just two nights but enjoyed every minute in the Hotel! The rooms were clean, it was plenty of space (although I'd wish for little hanger or a small shelf in the bathroom for laying clothes on it), the staff was more than polite. Fluid English, the least you can expect in London and as I noticed later on: several other languages, too! As a little side note: you cant expect a full four course menu from the kitchen. You can order different kind of snacks (e.g. sandwiches) and that's basically it.
All in all: I had a very good stay there and will definitely come again!
J. H.
At reception the staff were welcoming and professional. The room was great- very comfy bed and a nice bathroom which was clean with a large shower. Location of the hotel was very central with easy access to the underground and plenty to do close by
T. H.
Very nice Hotel with affordable rooms. I also liked the location of the hotel, close to three different subway-stations and close to The Tower.
Only the breakfast was kind of a disapointment. Although the quality of the food was good, the breakfast-room was very crowded at times and it was hard to find a place.
S. P.
Very modern hotel. Good bar area with a nice selection of gin and wine. Silent and clean rooms. Good breakfast. Very pleasant and helpful personal. Excellent money for value for a hotel in the city centre of London.
m. b.
The Staff is very professional and super friendly. Congrats to the whole team! Cozy atmosphere, good & healthy breakfast, rooms are clean and silent. I definitely recommend it. Very convenient location too, nearby underground
A. N.
The location on Minories is perfect for a stay in London and Tower Hill. Several tube lines are very close by so it's easy to get anywhere in London. I particularly appreciated the European as well as the UK plug options in the room. Tea and coffee facilities are hidden in a cupboard in the room. Yes, the rooms are small but that is reflected in the price, and they are clean, modern and quiet. One improvement might be more hooks in the bathroom to hang the towels on. Because the bar offers drinks at a reasonable price, there were quite a few people there creating a very relaxed vibe.
Didn't eat breakfast at the hotel because I'm gluten free, but there where plenty of places nearby to find 'safe' food.
E. B.
Our favourite hotel in London. Not far from the Tower and easy to reach. You can walk along the river and discover markets, museums and pubs from there. Rooms in MotelOne style, great drinks at the bar and polite, professional staf.
S. M.
Nice small hotel. Decent breakfast, very friendly staff and quite central. Only short stay car parks. Cost around 40 pounds from Gatwick airport. The rooms are nice, clean and bathrooms are with good water pressure. Plenty of power outlets and well lit rooms. Airco worked well and beds were comfortable. There are two lifts for about 6 floors so can have waiting times. Lobby is nice for a sit and drink and close by are restaurants, shops and night shops too. Close to bus stops and a 10 min walk to the metro station. Would definitely stay again.
J.
As always in Motel Ones: really good value for money. Moreover perfect support regarding the return of the AirPods we've forgotten in our room . Thanks to the team - awesome job! 👍🏼
O. M. M.
Room: nice, clean and comfortable, even if not very large. Very well suited for both leisure and business.
Services: i had a small problem at arrival with my booking, but everyone i talked to was helpful.
I will look for a Motel One in other locations as well.
B. Y.
I would highly recommend stayinh at this fabulous hotel. The room was lovely, the view was so nice, the facilities were great and to top it off the staff were wonderful. Will be going there again in the future, an absolute gem of a place. Also a great place to stay in terms of location as well!!
V. I.
Good basic hotel in centre of London. Rooms are well designed, clean and modern. Staff very polite. Great base to explore the city or for a business trip.
S. A.
Really nice spacious room. Not sure about it counting as a "city view" room when it is on the first floor though. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of food, from yoghurt, cereal, and fruit to croissants, cheese and meats. Fast, large lifts also
D. S.
As all Motel Ones, this one is as good as they are anywhere else. The personal is always very nice, the service is great and the hotel is very nice in total. The lobby is a great place to sit, the rooms are also very clean and modern. Again they have proven to be a great choice.
S.
For the price it's a great Motel. The rooms are small but clean and modern. The breakfast is not huge but everyone should find something. The personnel is very friendly and helpful. I can totally recomend it.
V. S.
Nice play to stay. Staff is quite professional and friendly. Choice for breakfast is good enough. Was in January 2020 and air was quite dry as for me. It was the only point that made me fill a bit uncomfortable.
J. R.
Had a very pleasant stay there. Staff was friendly, location is very good, rooms are tidy, but kinda too small for comfort. Anyway a very nice hotel.
D. O.
Cheaper end of the range city hotel, but don't be put off. The rooms are small but comfortable, with good showers and continental breakfast should you want it. Also, a good location for the city/tourist spots.
F. d. L.
Great hotel, very clean, good size rooms and incredibly friendly staff. Loved to stay for a night, but could have stayed all week. Real good prices for value.
M. W.
What a super hotel! Friendly helpful staff and quality rooms. Delicious breakfast well worth £9.50. Not far from Aldgate and Tower Hill stations. Book direct online for best price.
r. g.
I would have to say I was surprised by the style of this hotel, I happened to be walking by one day and I needed to move from the place I was staying, the low price listed on the window made me wonder about the hotel, however don't let that stop you as its a top level hotel located in the city area. The staff is superb in how they handle guests.
I would recommend!
S. W.
My stay at the Motel one was great for such a reasonable priced room in the center of London (we could find anything close on prices in this area)
The room was not very large but still had enough room for two of us to get ready for a night out. With out been on top of each other. The bathroom was very nice with a walking shower and plenty of room to get washed in.
I got a very good nights sleep and was very impressed that I could not hear any guests in any of the rooms near by.
I will be looking to stay here again on future visit's to london
A. G.
Really nice hotel with a great location close to the yellow circle line and walking distance to the tower bridge. WiFi was good. The shower was great. The room was clean, but very small, which can be problematic with two persons.
W. T.
Service was excellent, staff were friendly, cost was acceptable, rooms were exceptionally clean and bed was superbly comfortable. Overall a great overnight stay. Would definitely recommend, will choose them again.
M. R.
Great value for money. The rooms are spacious, very clean and perfectly located in close proximity to the tower of London / city of London. Unfortunately, it's fully booked most of the time when you're traveling on short notice.
T. T. O.
Good, comfortable place to stay a few nights. Rooms not too pricey. Bar on the ground floor with comfy seating. Busy check-in area on the ground floor to the right of the bar area.
R.
Located in tower hill near Aldgate tube. Rooms are very nice, clean, with great shower and bed, although there is no fan in bathroom so steam doesn't clear quickly. The designer TV does not work well, with both sound and picture cutting out on certain HD channels. Staff are friendly and polite.
E. C.
Everything was perfectly clean, and the lounge area was very welcoming. We loved the location and felt we got an excellent value. However, the staff were not helpful, and seemed mostly new, overworked, or both. There was always a long line at reception, and with no phone in the room, the only way to get even a simple question answered was to wait through the long line. Sunday evening, I went down to the front desk to ask which restaurants nearby might be open. The woman at the desk suggested there might be a pizza or pasta place "down by the docks" we could check. I asked if she knew the name, she didn't. I asked if she could call and check if they were open, she said, "We don't do that." To suggest that two women go "look around at the docks" on a dark evening in a nearly deserted neighborhood is pretty ridiculous. And to not have phones in the room, yet refuse to make a quick local phone inquiry is awful customer service. The rooms were comfortable and quiet, but when I travel to a city I don't know well, I count on a certain level of customer service to help me when I have questions, and I did not receive that here.
a. z.
Very nice and cozy hotel, the rooms are big and have all the facilities, except from a small fridge but we can survive and without that. They clean every day and everything worked perfect for me. Near the centre of London is a very good choice.
R. L.
Very convenient location. The room was clean, comfortable and designed well. There was enough space and the bathroom was super clean. We will come back next time we need to stay in central London.
G. T.
Clean, modern hotel. Double rooms are not huge but good enough for a solo traveler. Bathroom is functional but small. Beds are really comfortable and big. Nice lobby to work in, gets pretty busy in the evening with people grabbing a drink. Easy access to London underground with Tower Hill and Aldgate stations in very close walking distance, as well as the DLR and bus stop right in front of the hotel that takes you right to Trafalgar Square. Very convenient location to walk to Liverpool Street and Shoreditch.
J. G.
Found a room at the last minute after having missed my train. It was a little pricer than some of the fully booked places I had tried earleir, but was still reasonable, even for an unexpected expense. Staff were great and my room was very comfortable and spotless. Brilliant view out over London, taking in the Gherkin and the Shard. For the centre of London my room was quiet, and avoided the odd clicks and droning air conditioning that plagues some other places.
Amenities in the room were typical, although things live European style sockets, and a wide selection of international news channels might be appreciated by your international traveler.
A. R.
Nice hotel, the quality is high. Good design, it meets your expectations if u need a basic, nice, clean and warm hotel. I use it when I travel for work, sometimes also during the weekend.
J. A.
Loved the hotel, reasonable prices and really nice room. Had a few issues with the wifi not working and would appreciate other options than the continental breakfast. 8/10
R. G.
Very friendly staff.Clean Rooms.Good Location.
J. C.
For the price we paid (£99) we didn't expect much in London - but it really exceeded our expectations.
Clean, very modern rooms, nice staff and the bar was a nice place to relax in.
We'll be definitely staying here again when in London.
P. B.
Excellent position, between Aldgate and Tower Hill tube stations. It's 15 min walk from Liverpool street station.
Small but clean and modern rooms.
Excellent price (especially with the EUR-GBP exchange rate at 1.10 :-) )
Kind staff, were able to change our room seamlessly due to an air conditioning problem.
The breakfast buffet is a bit crowdy.
I've heard of good cocktails at the bar, but I haven't tried them.
P. B.
Good value considering in the heart of the city, very nice bar area and rooms were nicely decorated very modern and comfy bed, very strange pillows but that's just personal choice would recommend
a. d.
Perfect quality/price ratio. Nice bar at the entrance. Room size in the small range but everything is clean and looks brand new. Second time using this chain and will do again in the future!
A. P.
Good hotel. Small but clean. Friendly people! Close to a lot of attractions and the Tube. No iron or ironing board in the room. Must get it from front desk. Also no ice machine. Must get ice from the bar.
L. E.
This is a new, boutique style hotel located in the City of London, the financial/business section. Not a tourist-y area but just down the road from the Tower of London. It has a cool, chic lobby/lounge area and makes a nice impression. Service in the lounge was good. Check-in was easy and friendly. The room was very clean but very small...I can't imagine staying for more than a night or two. There is no real closet or wardrobe and no where to put a suitcase without it being underfoot. The bathroom was clean but provided no soap or washcloth, but did have a bottle of shower/shampoo all in one. Shower is flat out dangerous - it is like an ice rink. I actually fell in it. We had breakfast one morning and at around 10 pounds, it was a fair price for a hotel. Breakfast had a good selection of carbs and proteins. There is coffee available in-room, however on the morning we checked out I came down to get a fresh brewed cup of coffee with cream and I was told I had to buy the whole breakfast at first and then the hotel service person relented and let me have a cup. I've never been in a hotel anywhere in the world where you couldn't get a gratis cup of coffee. All in all, a nice place but I am not sure if I would stay at this chain motel again. Best for a one night business trip I think. There is however, a great Thai restaurant directly across the street and a good pub down under the bridge. The desk called and reserved a van to take us to the airport in the morning and at a cost of 100 pounds I asked if it would take a credit card and was told it would. However, when we got to Heathrow we were told there would be a 10% (!) surcharge if we used a credit card. Yikes. We scraped together the cash but really, 10%??? Just an fyi.
M. D.
Stylish, clean, modern hotel. Big comfy bed, excellent air conditioning but the room was quite small overall and the view was of a building site. Note: No bath.
S. W.
A great place to stay in the center of London without spending a fortune. Good breakfast, decent WiFi, shower & air-condition are top. Aldgate station is around the corner, taking you almost anywhere to the inner city within 30 minutes.
L. T.
Just an all round throughly lovely hotel ......easy to find, very helpful and friendly staff, lovely room, gorgeous views , relaxing bar area ........just couldnt be happier with our stay! Will defintly 100% stay again
A. R.
Great location, reasonably priced, contemporary decor and accommodations. Rooms are a bit small. We appreciate the free WiFi. The staff has been very friendly. Bed is comfortable.
R. H.
A modern, chic and good value hotel.
The room was a nice surprise: ingenious use of space, good quality furnishings, modern stylish bathroom, excellent tea & coffee making facilities.
The air-conditioning in room 4.11 was reluctant to warm up, so it got a bit chilly.
If you need an iron & ironing board you need to ask reception.
Trying to work out how to switch off the funky bedside lamps was like something from out of "The Krypton Factor"! There are small rocker switches on the body of the lamps, but they're not immediately obvious.
The continental breakfast (buffet) offers plenty of choice and you eat in the lounge/lobby area, which has a relaxed, informal atmosphere. The downside is that the layout is a bit chaotic with stuff dotted all around, so you feel like you're zig zagging to pick things up.
The hotel lobby opens straight onto The Minories, via large sliding glass doors. These constantly slide open, as people come and go. Luckily it was mild when I stayed because I imagine gets freezing cold and draughty having breakfast in the depths of winter. They need to add a secondary door somehow. That might also serve to deter the people (not guests) who I saw walk in off the street to help themselves to a free breakfast!
Location-wise, this hotel is great for the City and Aldgate tube station is a stone's throw away so you can quickly travel further afield. Recommended.

We were in London for a short weekend trip. We always love to book with a Motel One Hotel. This one as always was wonderful. The rooms are small but lovely and cozy. The bed was very comfy. We also had a great view from our room. Furthermore, we really liked the location: Very good connection to Gatwick Airport (only 40 minutes via Thames Link and Circle line) . Easy access to various bus lines and the Aldgate station where the metro takes you into the city in about 15 to 20 minutes depending on where you want to go. Walking distance to the Tower Bridge which was fabulous for a little stroll in the evening. The area is also nice with little shops and some restaurants and bars just around the corner. Just the staff were not always very accomodating but maybe it was just a stressfull weekend. We will definitely be coming back.
S. W.
Nice place, good location. Meets the usual standard of motel one’s, standard rooms, with great lobby, bar space. This hotel is great for Shoreditch and the Thames water taxis.
W. M.
Pleasantly surprised by this hotel, room cost £99 and breakfast less than £10 for a double room on Friday night in central London, very attractive bar area which doubles as a breakfast room for a comprehensive continental breakfast with hot boiled eggs, delicious. Room was large but adequate for 1 night, very comfortable bed with lots of pillows, air con and WiFi that work well. Large walk in shower in modern bathroom. Very impressed and would defiantly recommend, bus stop outside hotel and 5 mins walk from Tower Hill and Aldgate tube stops,
S. G.
We were there as a family group and we took 5 rooms. Several persons, including me, coincide that the pillows are really bad. For some persons breakfast was expensive for they prefer lighter food and decided to go to EAT. or Pret for something lighter.
The shower is extremely slippery and it would be good to have some item to grab from when going in and out.
S. V. D. S.
Brilliant. Same Standards as known from the Motel Ones in Germany.
Got a free upgrade to a city view room, which was brillant. Amazing size for a room in London.
Unfortunatelly almost completely booked out until forever.
J. H.
Clean and modern room, comfortable bed, staff are very friendly, lobby is nice and relaxing. Only downside is the rooms are very small in my experience. Would stay again for 1 night on business.
S. W.
Very nice at a reasonable price. 15 minute walk to the Tower of London and the Thames. Very close to Aldgate underground exit. Restaurants, pubs, shopping in the area. Nice lobby with bar, this is also where the continental breakfast is served. Breakfast was fruit, yogurt, granolas and cereals, breads, croissants, meats and jams, coffee tea and juice. Free bottle of water when checking in. Hair dryer, soap and shampoo provided. Excellent WiFi.
D. F.
Excellent location close to Underground station, cafés & bars, clean modern rooms with everything you need for an overnight stay & fantastic service! Staff were very welcoming, organised & nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay again!
A. N.
The usual Motel One quality ony five minutes away from Tower Bridge. It's not big luxury, but it's all there: Clean room, super comfortable bed, even European electrical sockets, nice staff.
The price is for sure not low, but that's London. I can recommend it for sure!
K. B.
I love m1, this one is very different from any other m1. Room smells like somebody smoked weed. The bar does not serve drinks or snacks after 1am. They recommended that i shall go to a pub near by.
D. E.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the Motel One is a 4* experience. What I an saying is that for a sub £100 hotel in central London, it's pretty good. My only real quibbles are that there are no iron & ironing boards in the room, you have to fetch and return then yourself (annoying when you're checking in past midnight and already laden with luggage). And the pillows are too soft, with a strange thickness, so with 1 pillow it felt like there was none at all, but with 2 my neck was stretched upwards (not good when you have a bad back).
S. L.
Nice clean room, friendly staff and good location. Close to the train station and local busses right outside. It was my first at the hotel and i will surly be going back.
R. H.
Very helpful and friendly personal at the Reception, Bar...
Super location for a super price. Breakfast was amazing. I would rather call it brunch :-) Rooms clean and comfortable.
P. W.
...incredible staff (reception, bar, breakfast)! They even helped me to repair my damaged wheelchair!
I give the young people working there a five star for being open-minded and giving the cool lounge a warm atmosphere!
K. P.
Hotel gets 5 stars for Europe, aside from the horrible bathroom ventilation, but in a quiet area with some metro stops. Great if you're focused on the tower and tower bridge as they're only 7 min walks away.
D. S.
Nice tidy, clean rooms and well priced when we visited. Didn't get a great night's sleep though, as the pillows provided were very bouncy and I found it hard to get comfortable in bed.
E. L.
The room was very clean and the view was amazing. Breakfast is continental self-servise, but is very good. All staff have been very helpfull. Would recommend.
a. h.
Ideal hotels for people with allergies like me. Never have any problems with these in Motel One. Apart from that lovely staff, great views, great location and a nice Sauvignon!
M. B.
Lovely hotel in a good location with very helpful staff. Could only be improved if a hot breakfast option was offered and could have been booked ahead our stay - but we will definitely look here first next time we stay in London.
P. M.
Almost top value for money! But real European type hotel. All beand new, mixer tap (wow!) modern. Loved it. Will come again
M. C.
Does the basics, and all very clean and mostly tidy. But lacking vitality and, for the price, not a lot of value too. I never get feeling of warmth (and I don't mean this is a cold temperature), but that I am a unit of value to the profit.
L. B.
It was ok lovely reception area and close to aldgate station however I was put in a disabled room which they didn't declare in check in and none of the plug sockets on the right hand side of the room worked so I couldn't charge my phone or use the kettle.
T. N.
Very impressed for the money paid. Very nice, compact room, with large shower. Staff friendly and service excellent. Would have no hesitation in staying again.
B. N.
The front desk staff that checked us in were very presumptuous. I'm not referring to all front desk staff at this hotel but that one particular lady in this instance. She presumed that we intended to cramped one extra guest into the hotel room. I don't know where they trained their front desk staff but that's clearly not an opening line to use on guests.
G. C.
There are two occasions that I stay in this chain and they never disappoint me. New hotels, very clean, friendly staff, comfortable rooms. Super recommended Tower Hill and those who have throughout Europe
a. y.
Very good value for money and in a great location
U. V. B. L.
Love Motel One
Stayed in Motel One Hotels in both Brussels and London.
Only negative was we were refused breakfast on our last day at 9.57am - we were told we were too late...a bit frustrating as I had paid nearly £1,000 for three rooms (in London - attending a family wedding) but everything else was spot on...lovely bright, clean rooms...helpful, friendly staff...good location
F. A.
Rooms are comfortable but a little bit small. Hotel areas in general are very well designed and equipped. Free Wi-Fi all over the place
C. J. G. F.
Good value for money. Very clean rooms. Sufficient size. Good location with many nearby options for transportation. Very friendly and helpful staff.
R. T.
worth the money, prime location, modern design,
room cleaning need improvement as they remove some used cups and spoon which i might need it the next night, even took away my second key card
room is spacious but lack of table or stand for us to put things
water floods the bathroom floor as the drainage is poor
S. P.
Had a 14th floor room with a stunning view over London. Hotel only 5 minutes from next tube station. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go there again next time.
C. M.
Convenient. Comfortable. Reasonably priced. Clean and good views from some rooms. Only continental breakfasts and you have to carry your iron board up to your room.
N. H.
Overpriced but it's London so it's expected. Otherwise nice and clean. I liked the location, not too far from central and it's a vibrant area. Would stay here again if i don't find anything cheaper.
P. S.
Small but nice rooms. Comfy beds, clean rooms and good atmosphere. Good service. Reasonable priced compared to what you got.
E. I. G. O.
Super Location , Close to tower Hill area, surrounded by public transportation options, excellent for quick Trips, easy to check in and out. Not the classic huge room but the space is more than enough.
D. T.
Great hotel, great and smiling staff. But the morning buffet was to simple and boring, considering the prize. No mini-fridge in the room, for my beer😋
I. S.
Perfect location, rooms have the EU plug as well, so you don't have to buy an adaptor on purpose, wifi connection is not that good.
S. G.
Very very good. Small room but everything we needed. Great location and very nice lobby with seating/ bar. Nice and friendly staff.
z. l.
Stayed at Motel One for appprox 5 days, their service is good, overall facilities are in working conditions and the location is fantastic - basically a transfer hub for all the ammenities like Train stations, close-by are good food, train stations etc.
T. S.
Pros:
Location
Frindly staff
Nice breakfast (include smth for vegiterians like soy milk, fruit salad...)
Cons:
No wardrobe, only small rail with 4 hangers.
For some reason was not working Internet on their TV( while WiFi on my tablet was ok).
N. E.
In the tragedy that is London's mid-class hotel sector Motel One is a welcomed outlier.
Applying it's tried and trusted formula of offering clean, well designed and stripped down rooms for about GBP 100, makes this one of the best hotels I've stayed in in London.
Located at the eastern edge of the City makes this ideal for business travelers, with a multitude of transport options available in the vicinity (10 min walk to Liverpool Street Station, 5 min to Aldgate and Tower Hill).
The only downsides are the lack of decent restaurants nearby - as a lot of places in the City close after business hours - and the atrocious WiFi speed.
P. i.
Good hotel with compact clean rooms and excellent showers. The hotel is close to the tube stop and within walking distance you will find placed to eat and a Tesco Express.
G. T.
This was a pleasant surprise. So affordable yet has the feel of a 4 star deluxe hotel. Bit of hassle about trying to get an iron to use but it worked out in the end. Definitely will be back
S. F.
Excellent staff, great breakfast for a good price. At least some rooms are quite small, as are the baths.
K. M.
Clean ,friendly staff, and overall good quality finish. Location very convenient also, extremely close to Aldgate (which in turn is only a few stops from Euston sq & Kings Cross).
C. H.
This hotel was exactly what we wanted! The price was very affordable and in a great location to get to where we needed to. If I need a hotel in that part of London again I will definitely go back! Highly recommend.
R. G.
Had a great stay! Nice room, comfortable bed. Nice rainshower. Breakfast was ok. Location was superb!
H. B.
Excellent location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Loved our stay.
G. T.
Clean and comfortable rooms, well located in a quiet area. Staff have been very helpful to me and friendly. Thanks!
A. B.
Very good hotel, clean and comfortable. Aircon a bit loud and no English breakfast, so only 4 stars.
M. P.
Great location, great service and exceptionally clean rooms the bonus part was the cost in comparison to other hotels. Highly recommended.
V. H.
Possibly one of the best hotels I've been to in London. Confortable, clean, quiet. I feel totally at home here. It is worth every penny.
J. I.
Compact but really comfortable rooms. Nice beds and beautiful bathroom. Very nice breakfast, which is not included in the room price.
N. G.
Perfect hotel for a business trip. Highly recommend it to anyone. Stayed there now over 20 nights and never had an issue.
G. m.
Great hotel and easy walking distance to Tower Bridge
R. T.
Great location (5min from the Tower of London), friendly staff, new and clean rooms. Definitely value for money when visiting London. Would be great to have bigger selection at the bar.
M. M.
Very friendly and welcoming attitude from receptionists, the rooms are very comfortable, well cleaned. Definitely recommend.
T. R.
Fabulous and underused lounge bar on the ground floor. Make use of the capacious and comfortable seating for afternoon coffee or afternoon/evening drinks.
R. A.
Pretty standard place, super small rooms but gets the job done. Food is worthless, good situation, though.
K. Q.
Excellent place To stay ..perfect room with excellent linene and towels were soft as cotton in the shower ..beautiful sleep thanks to the soft soft duvet. Will DEFINENTLY come again .

Friendly efficient staff. Clean and tidy room. Small but contained everything needed. Everything worked, great shower. Good price.

W. L.
Wonderful staff extremely welcome and helpful.
R. F.
Clean tidy. Very friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble for them. Very well positioned for my needs and will be visiting again.
A. R.
The location is good, enough close to two Tube stations. The room is a bit small, but really clean and pretty. Service is good.
C. H.
Modern style hotel with comfy lounge area but quite expensive. The rooms are nice but small for the price.
N. M.
Fab clean room a bit on the small side. Excellent staff. Great location for the tube. Literally a 2 min walk to the nearest station
C. O. (.
Rooms and place was very nice, rooms were small but very well made up. Breakfast was continental only which was a bit of a let down.
S. C. (.
Clean tidy with a fantastic view from the 11th floor. Cheap for location. Staff very welcoming and polite. Will most certainly stay here again.
m. k.
Awesome experience..Only issue which i have found is that they are providing ready breakfast instead of anything from the kitchen..Nice & clean place to stay and 10 min walk from london bridge..
J. W.
Good location, nice little rooms, even though my room was opposite an office block so had to keep the curtains shut.
J. E.
Lovely hotel with boutique hotel feel. Small but comfortable rooms, which are clean and well provided for.

An unmatched location (literally 300m from the Towers of London and Tower Bridge) for a price that can't be beaten. We came in thinking there had to be a catch... no, it was that good. Would recommend it to any friend.
b. y.
All nice & clean. However avoid the bar toastie worst of my life. Half toasted and still chilled inside. Not good.
C. V.
The hotel was very new, modern and clean. The rooms are not too large, and there is only open space for hanging clothes.
