One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Wow and I mean WOW! I have been very fortunate to stay in some wonderful hotels in my life and this one is out of this world.
Great location, a lot of things to do all so close to the hotel. The building itself is gorgeous; huge and eye-catching with Russel Square right outside. Walking into the hotel, it took my breath away with how stunning the main lobby was.
The room we had was well kept with a modern decor and new facilities (Nespresso machine, TVs etc) The staff were fantastic. Helpful, friendly and very accommodating.
Will be coming back again and would highly recommend!

Lovely hotel. Beautiful room and facilities. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The Galvin restaurant, the Fitz bar are fantastic and the Palm court is a beautiful place to relax. All in all a great hotel and we had a fantastic Valentine weekend stay. Would definitely return.

This review is entirely based on using the public facilities - I did not stay at the hotel.
Exceptional building at Russell Square with excellent service from both the hotel and hospitality staff.
Full of digital nomads until about 5PM, and then taken over by the social crowd.
Casual service at the bar, but a few creative concoctions on offer that one might try.

Good hotel with decent facilities for work, breakfast etc. Showers were a little short (I am 6’2” and they were just about OK out of the rain shower but there was very little room). The rooms are quite dated and I had the misfortune of a room at the rear of the property so has a lovely view of a large metal chimney from the kitchens. I suspect the rooms overlooking Russell Square are far nicer. Staff were attentive and helpful but breakfast was a bit of a confusion over reception and restaurant staff collaborating to ensure my breakfast could be put on my bill. The bed was wonderful to sleep in and the location was great for me working in the city and getting a train back from Paddington.

cant fault the hotel and staff in general, it is beautiful. I will say however that for the price we paid, the room felt very small and not overly ‘wowing’ , leaving us a little disappointed. It was kind of situated in the corner of the corridors, so has a funny angle to it, which leaves the foot of the bed almost touching the wall. The bathroom infact was almost as big!
But other than that, had a lovely stay :)

I’ve never stayed in such a well equipped hotel. The service was impeccable and the staff are so friendly. The decor is absolutely beautiful and each bar is wonderful to sit and unwind in. I will 100% be returning to the Kimpton in the future, thanks for a wonderful stay.
M. H.
Excellent hotel in a great location. Staff are so welcoming and friendly. We had breakfast and a dinner on one of our three night stay. Food was great . Rooms are very comfortable and everyone you could need in them
K. P.
Had a lovely weekend. In a great position for getting to tourist spots. Underground Station just round the corner and a couple of stops from Green Park etc.
Staff were excellent and very friendly. They even managed to find me a hairband after mine went missing.

Stunning property with fantastic staff. Greeted warmly upon arrival by polite and welcoming porters who showed us to reception. Professional and friendly reception staff made check in a breeze. Reservation at Fitz's was again a winning experience with incredible cocktails in a relaxed and ambient setting, the giant disco ball being the cherry on the top of a fabulous hotel experience. 100% recommend and will be back. Thanks all for a wonderful stay.

Very nice hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable. The service meets the standards of a 5 star hotel. Especially the front desk. It's my hotel in London!
J. J.
Amazing interior, it's so beautiful inside. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Room was of good quality and the bathroom was incredible. Will most certainly return.

Absolutely stunning, probably one of the best hotels I've been to. Everything is so detailed and spotless. Truly a wonderful place to stay in London
M. D.
Fantastic Hotel and amazing Staff. The cocktail Bar is one of the best I have been in. If you are un London and you want an amazing experience... this is the hotel

Fantastic stay at the Kimpton Fitzroy. The hotel is fabulous, our junior suite was gorgeous (my husband wants to have the same design at home now), the food was great but most importantly, the team made us feel very welcome - as if we were regular guests (which we arent unfortunately). The team was helpful, friendly, and no matter what time of day, even behind the mask we could feel the team smiling to all guests.

Pretty much perfect stay from start to finish. Just a short 10minute walk from Euston and we'll placed for travel round London on the tube, this is a perfect hotel for any occasion.
The building itself is stunning and the decor is perfectly matched. All of the team that we met were extremely friendly, and the text service throughout the trip meant that even the smallest of requests were met.
The room was really nicely finished with all you basic requirements hit from hairdryer, iron, coffee machine, radio/Bluetooth player and a wide variety of toiletries. To pick some small faults, the bath was quite small and the shower was quite low. Any taller than 6 foot and you may have to duck under the head.
The bar service was slightly slow and not overly well joined up with some of it being table service but then we needed to get up to the bar to pay. And we had to nudge to eat anyone's attention when needing a drinks menu and then again when ordering. This didn't quote live up to the rest of the experience...
Overall an excellent place to stay for a relaxing stay in London
K. K.
We spent a lovely weekend in one of the suites, it was stunning. The hotel staff were so friendly and attentive, even happy to bring up a HDMI cable for us to use. Cannot fault the hotel. A memorable anniversary for us.

Covered an absolutely stunning Wedding here over the weekend and what a spectacular hotel it is!
The hotel itself has very grand interiors, from classic marble to modern mirrors and interesting decor. As a setting, it is impressive.
Overall it has had a delightful renovation, sumptuous public and private spaces. Splendid breakfast in Galvan brasserie and we were lucky enough to have a tasty dinner in the bar.
Staff all very pleasant, at times a little less attentive than usual for 5* but no complaints.
This is a great location for central London meetings or conferences. Recommended and will certainly be back as I do appreciate the Kimpton brand.
The only caveat I would add, please make sure if you’re driving in that you arrange for pre paid parking at NCP. This hotel has zero parking spaces!
As by the by, I know the Kimpton offers candles and diffusers of their own hotel scent, but seriously…consider making it into a perfume! I would buy it definitely ;)

Beatiful building which has had an amazing restoration back to its Victorian splendour. Bars are amazing to spend time in the palm court has a light airy yet relaxed feeling. The ballroom is just magnificent and the staff , charming helpful and friendly .

The Kimpton Fitzroy is by far the best place I have stayed at in London. The service was top-notch, the beds were so comfortable and the rooms were quite spacious. We stayed there for a special occasion and the hotel is beautifully decorated and everything appears to have been recently renovated. Check-in and the front desk was so helpful and I really liked the text message updates about our room and our reservations. I highly recommend splurging for one of the suites, as the bathroom was absolutely stunning with a huge walk in shower and had one of the best bathtubs I've ever used. The building itself is gorgeous and I also definitely think you should try to grab a cocktail at Fitz's bar if you have some time. I've stayed in so many hotels over the years for work all over the world and this one really blew it out the water for me!
A. F.
Stunning hotel and staff wonderful and very attentive- just a tad frustrating that every time we booked a table (4 times) we were always a seat short so either had to be squashed in or moved! Didn't spoil the enjoyment though and would definitely visit again.
m. q.
I booked 3 single rooms for me and my sisters for 6 nights. I was shocked to find out how small the rooms are. My luggage was on the floor… however, staff were very nice but couldn’t do anything except to offer us upgrade with extra charge… these rooms are ok for one night biz trip.
M. J.
Awesome hotel, so much character. Great sized rooms, friendly staff, all very well organised
L. B. T.
Wonderful hotel. The decor and ambience is sensational. The staff couldn't be more welcoming, friendly and helpful. My favourite London hotel! Location is super convenient too.
A. E.
An incredible, high quality hotel in a perfect location. We loved the room, the food, and especially the incredible bar! Can't wait to revisit for another weekend away.
A. K.
lovely design but I found the staff not trained well enough for the price you pay. from cleaning ladies who wake you up in the morning to receptionists who are absent half of the time and when they eventually show up there’s a queue already
two staples of modern life - a nespresso machine and a bluetooth speaker - are present thought and I like it
l. g.
My husband arranged a surprise weekend away for my birthday. It was fantastic. The staff were so welcoming- Irini and Adam were just lovely. Mamoon the events manager was excellent - nothing was too much trouble - he is such a credit to the hotel. Would highly recommend.

What a wonderful renovation of this stately old hotel. Location is superb being around the corner from the British Museum and down the road from West End.
Service at the hotel was excellent and a big thank you to Alec at check-in. Alec took the time to give us an informative tour of the hotel pointing out all those little things that make this hotel unique. Lucky George is only one of those things.
Breakfasts in the Galvin Bar were amazingly good. Barista coffee, good porridge and eggs benedict that were cooked perfectly. A touch of vinegar, runny eggs and fresh butter. Delicious.
The Fitz's Bar is well run and a warm and cosy place to be. And if it's only a coffee and a light snack you are after then Burr and Co. is good. It was always busy when we were there which says something about the baristas they have. They make a very good coffee. Free internet is pretty good too.
If you want to stretch your legs and get some green, then do so in Russell Square and look out for the Bug Hotel there. If you wonder why the square is looking so good then it probably has plenty to do with an influx of friendly pollinating bugs.

Stayed for 3 nights on a trip to London. The hotel is absolutely stunning, with well appointed rooms, comfortable beds and helpful, friendly staff. Also in a great location, with Trafalgar Sq about a 20min walk.
Unfortunately I've knocked a star off as the staff at breakfast were not the best. 10 minute wait for a black coffee on the first morning (only 5 tables in), had to ask twice for coffee on the second morning, with it being offered in a takeaway cup when it eventually arrived as we had finished breakfast and were heading out.
Our final morning wasn't much better, however it was toast this time. 20 minutes for toast to arrive after asking twice.
I am being extremely critical with the above but the service experienced doesn't fit with the overall impression or stay you expect at a hotel of this standard.
That said I would most definitely stay again.

A lovely, monumental location in London. It's architecture is a tribute to London and it's location makes its easily accessible by London Underground as well as if you are driving to the location ( as there are public parking spots around Russell Square ).
The staff seem friendly and ready to always help. Keep up the great service, and see you again soon.

Just returned from a welcome weekend break at the Kimpton Fitzroy in Russell Square. A relatively recent multi-million pound upgrade and refit really shows from the moment that you enter the incredible entrance hall. If you like lush furnishings and beautiful design, then this is your place. Handily placed for the tube and British museum, attractions are close at hand. One of the best things we found in relation to this luxury hotel was the extremely friendly and helpful staff. Staff in all key areas were superb. Special mention to Dorine who went above and beyond on our last day. Would recommend for a refreshing change in a stunning central five star hotel.
K. M.
Just spent the weekend here celebrating my sisters wedding (wedding venue was elsewhere) and the hotel could not have been anymore accommodating with the celebrations during our stay. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, (particular shout out to Mamoon!) - they helped organise taxis, space in the restaurant/bar for the pre/post wedding evenings etc. Rooms were great, room service fab, overall a fantastic stay at Russel Square!
S. S.
Fantastic stuff beautiful grade 2 listed building fantastically restored couldn’t wish for a better stay. Highly recommend to anyone.
A. R.
Lovely, friendly, kind staff but very professional.
Relaxed and homely atmosphere.
Excellent breakfast.

Unbelievable hotel, staff and service. Comfiest rooms and most beautiful setting. The staff couldn't do more to accommodate us, Thankyou!
A. S.
Beautiful and underrated hotel. Great location, walking distance to many London hotspots. Great staff, lovely rooms and excellent service
S. D.
Amazing stay. Top class hotel, felt too posh for me. Shame we only stayed for the one night, would have loved a longer stay.
P. F. G.
Hotel is beautiful and eye catching, from marble stairs to having chance to visiting lucky george, having great accessibility to the city and British Museum.
S. D.
Exceptional hotel. Visited the bar only and it had live music too which was great.
M. M.
Best hotel I've stayed at in London, reasonable pricing that blows away other 5 star hotels that cost more, friendly and helpful staff, great decor and delicious coffee. 10/10
j. w.
Absolutely Brilliant. Had the curried goose with Brussels sprouts , apart from the passing lots of wind, very satisfied. Thank you Chef.
k. h.
Lovely atmosphere great staff used the coffee shop part burr & Co menu a little limited but tasty. Wheelchair accessible.
J. M.
Absolutely Amazing - We are staying here for work and considering the challenges that COVID has brought to bear and our crazy work schedule, we are so happy to have booked this hotel. The location is great. The hotel facilities are fantastic and the staff in particular have been incredible (friendly and could not do enough to help). We will definitely stay again the next time we are in London.
J. R.
Loved my stay with my wife and kids. The staff very amazing and the hotel was spotless.

Best hotel in London!
Kind servicr, nice people, clean room and public areas.
PERFECT!

Beautiful hotel with an amazing cocktail bar! Danielle looked after us all night and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.
Highly recommended!
S. C.
Nice hotel, priced is abit expensive but it is a 5* Hotel with central location. The interior is beautiful and the decors are amazing!
A. R.
Beautiful hotel both interior and exterior. Couldn’t have picked a more perfect place to stay

This is a special spot in London as we celebrated our wedding here 25yrs ago, it was so good and overdue to come for a visit. It is as wonderful as ever, the staff were great, cocktails yum and such a magic spot in London. Best news we learnt today is the hotel is dog friendly, we are coming back, with the Jacob.
j. h.
I’ve stayed at all the park lane 5* hotels, and value for money, quality, service and everything you require for a hotel, the Kimpton Fitzroy is as good if not better than the rest. J

They also remembers us and my requirements

Personally i like that
Would Recommend
A great stay
Beautiful and well appointed clean room
Everything worked including the Hairdryer
Staff knowledgeable when asked questions
The Social evening very enjoyable
Relaxed was a very Pleasant hour
A real change to the normal.
Staff Terrific a definite assert to any Quality Hotel
A Spa would have been nice
The only down side was the late drinks in the bar 3 members of staff no where near the standard as the rest
The stay was a treat from my son as i havent been well
Would stay again

Lovely hotel with a lot of history. In good shape and nice service.
A. s.
Best Hotel in London, the staff are amazing, the place indoors and outdoors looks fabulous and the prices are reasonable
O. L.
Just such a beautiful architecture. Everytime I walk pass by, I have to look up and admire.
D. S.
Visited for a nice breakfast and was blown away.
Quite possibly the lightest and most delicious hash browns I have had.
The food was delicious and filling without being at a very high price point.
Service was good and the only thing of note was that more bread options for the breakfast would be great.
I really enjoyed the juices and the omelette was excellent.
An excellent restaurant to breakfast in central.
C. M.
Fantastic hotel! Very courteous and friendly staff, all the little extra touches included, beautifully clean and well presented. Probably my favourite hotel stay ever! Comfortable rooms, windows opened too which was a welcome surprise (many other hotels I've stayed in London have the windows bolted shut which is awful and stuffy). Made to feel extremely welcome, would love to stay here again!
B. S.
I had the most incredible stay here this weekend with some friends. We are so grateful to Jen and Corin for welcoming us to their beautiful Hotel. The rooms were so beautiful. Also and special mention to George, the Food and Beverage Manager at the Kimpton. He introduced himself when we popped down to enjoy the amazing breakfast and he really looked after us and made sure we had the best finish to an already great stay. I can't wait to come back!
N. F.
Great stay, very attentive and friendly staff! Lovely breakfasts too, happy to make some changes and go the extra mile.
K. S.
Beautiful, sophisticated hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent location
A. O. G.
Amazing stay, lovely experience and hospitality! Loved our tour of the building with Andrea as well. Plus the disabled access is top class and not a faff at all!
V. D.
Had an amazing stay at this gorgeous hotel. Thanks so much to Corin for hosting us!
We had a few drinks in the evening and breakfast in the morning at The Palm Court which is stunning. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very nice - special mention to George!
It was a great experience, we had a lovely time. Thank you so much!! I'd definitely recommend!
J. C.
Beautiful place for afternoon tea, the Palm court had gorgeous interiors and a calm ambience. Slightly disappointed in the quality of the food, as for a very nice hotel afternoon tea, it wasn’t the freshest and tastiest. The waiter at the time did not describe the pastries correctly (e.g. the tart was a sort of white chocolate and vanilla, but we were told it was a lemon and vanilla tart and we were told that there was a chocolate version of the scone, but we only got plain scones). Worth visiting the Kimpton Fitzroy hotel for the bar and the Neptune restaurant but for the afternoon tea, this time round I wouldn’t recommend.
A. Q.
I have stayed at several hotels in my life and I could not fault The Kimpton Fitzroy. Wow, what an experience ! The rooms were super clean clean (I am a bit of a clean freak and they were to the professional standard you would expect of a 5 star hotel), wonderful smelling products from the hand wash to the shampoo and conditioner (I can be quite fussy when it comes to products and they were so lush!). The blackout blinds are a treat when hungover in the morning (it was my birthday celebration after all!) and the beds were super comfortable. The staff to hand were friendly and very accommodating. Special shout out to Corin, Jen and George for going above and beyond and making our stay so great. Will definitely be back! Thanks again for such a fabulous evening !
S.
Good place for drinks, afternoon tea and for a beautiful stay. Make sure you go and stroke the lucky dragon!
C. O.
I've only been to the bar. Great atmosphere! Good staff!
R. S.
Brilliant hotel, such a lovely get away!!
A. M.
Enjoyed our stay here while we were in London last week. Booked two rooms for my family.
I highly recommend this hotel. Why?
- The staff- everyone we have encountered! - were gracious and helpful. Claire, the manager is fantastic to work with. We had an issue prior to check in and she sorted it out.
- The rooms are well appointed, comfortable, clean and user-friendly.
- I'm delighted with breakfast at Neptune (healthy and lots of options to choose from), the Fitz bar (amazing drinks!) and the cafe adjacent to the front desk.
Will definitely return to this hotel next time we're in London. Check it out for yourselves. You will not be disappointed.
M. L.
Attentive staff. Nice gym. Lovely atmosphere.

"Excellent service, rooms very pleasing decor, very well appointed bathrooms."
C. R.
I stayed there with my gf for a night to celebrate our anniversary, it was very nice. The staff was attentive and couldnt be happier about cleanliness and covid-19 rules. It felt safe to stay there. They use a big space to serve breakfast, full of lights, olive trees - its stunning.
J. C.
They put guests first always. My wife and I have stayed here on several occasions and stayed in multiple suites, they have all been immaculately clean and well serviced during our stays.
We have eaten here and had afternoon tea on several occasions and we felt well looked after. No detail is spared when preparing your food, this was especially true for my wife who has very specific dietary needs.
If you want to be treated with luxury, I highly recommend this hotel.
L. Z.
Beautiful hotel. Impeccable service. The rooms are exactly as described and looks the same as the photos. The bed is very comfortable. Everyone in the hotel was personable and made an effort to make our stay a pleasant one. The location is convenient a short walk to Russell Square station. The hotel is newly renovated and the interior design is elegant and luxurious. From the moment I made a reservation with David to our week long stay, the staff and ambiance of the hotel made us feel very comfortable. The concierges Luis and Sean were very helpful. The buffet breakfast at Neptune restaurant had good quality food and a wide variety of selections. The people at breakfast were great and attentive including Jonathan. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this amazing hotel.
R. R.
I don't even know where to start! The Kimpton beats all the "best" service I have ever had. Absolutely stunning architecture with an even more fabulous and cheerful team. Everyone took care to bring the surprise I was planning for my husband on our wedding day to life! He loved it! Couldn't ask for more. PS. Loved the old school red telephone!
D. G.
This hotel is so good. In a great central location. Lovely rooms and great food.
E. W.
The team at Easy Weddings thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Kimpton Fitzroy London. Jen and Corin were so welcoming, from the drinks in Palm Court, to providing deluxe hotel rooms for us all. The Kimpton Fitzroy hits that perfect balance between 5-star luxury and a relaxed unassuming atmosphere - it is such a joy to see it back open! We look forward to matching up many more couples with the Kimpton Fitzroy as their hotel wedding venue of choice. We couldn't recommend this beautiful hotel enough for a restful night's stay and for hosting unforgettable weddings in central London.

Amazing hotel
Amazing staff
Fabiola from the front desk was particularly outstanding
Unfortunately the service from one member of staff in the Fitz bar has let the experience down such a shame
Our regulars waiter was amazing but someone i think was the manager was not polite and treated us like children.. interesting experience for a paying customer
T.
Beautiful architecture, well kept and great location. We cannot give it a 5 star as it lacks amenities such as pool and spa which are essential for a 5 star hotel. Rooms are a bit small and cramped. No bag rack in the room. Breakfast was ok, not really many options in the buffet. Staff were nice and generally it was a nice experience.
J. S.
A cleverly designed hotel room with echoes of luxury. The staff make me feel welcome. Room for one is well organised and planned. It would benefit from a well designed comfortable arm chair. Great bar and coffee shop on the ground floor. It's well located for the British museum and Russell Square tube.
T. M.
Amazing hotel! I had a great experience during my stay at The Principal. There rooms were a bit small but cosy, the beds were amazing. The free crisps were just an added bonus. The rooms were clean all the staff were super friendly. The TV …
S. G.
Very nice afternoon tea in a beautiful hall. The trees and roses make the stay enjoyable, while you have a nice cup of tea on the sofas. The food is good: the sandwiches are very delicate, while the sweet bites give quite a kick. The staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. You get an additional small bag with your favourite sweet to bring home. Great touch!
Y. F.
As I only visited this hotel as a participant of a workshop I would like to comment on the meeting room and services provided for it. The meeting room had high ceilings and natural daylight which made me feel calm and concentrated on my work. The food and service were excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. All the areas I've been to were looked after and the combination of colors is very nice. The nicest touch were the olive trees in the lobby area.
D. S.
Nice hotel single rooms are cosy
N. S.
A great hotel that manages to be both comfortable and luxurious.
The front desk staff are excellent.
The hotel has a great bar which has a nice atmosphere and make solid cocktails.
Food from room service was fine but nothing to get excited about and a little expensive for what it was.
Will definitely stay again.
K. L.
It's a beautiful property, for sure, and the rooms are brilliantly decorated. However, I was left wondering what made this property so expensive compared to competing nearby properties--rooms are small (though not necessarily cramped) and several amenities are only provided on request. Plugs weren't placed very thoughtfully in the room (only a shaver plug in the bathroom and no real mirror by the larger outlets, so I had to use a chair to hold open a door of the dresser to see myself), there wasn't a master light switch at the bed, the trash can hadn't been emptied, breakfast not included in the standard rate, and a few other quibbles--truly nothing more than inconveniences at worst, but not what I'd expect when paying for a 5-star hotel. I enjoyed the stay, but I probably would not stay again--maybe just pop in to visit the bar/restaurant: atmosphere/waitstaff/food/drinks were all top-notch.
A. T.
Beautiful old hotel with nicely modernised cafe/restaurant
R. B.
Beautiful building and lovely service. Arrived early to drop off bags and room was ready. Mentioned it was my wife's room and they upgraded our room.
M. K.
Very Excellent Hotel. First class service. Good value for money. Staff are very helpful. Corridors smell can be better. It was a very old hotel and now a new management took over and renovated everything.
M. M.
Saturday 16th Nov 19 was our second visit to this lovely hotel. We returned having been smitten with our first visit.
We were greeted by Sara and Isabel on reception who couldn’t have made us feel more welcome and special. The room, decor, cleanliness, facilities and location can’t be faulted, it’s truly a gem of a hotel. However, it’s the staff that make this hotel such a pleasure to be at, nothing is too much trouble, politeness and manners abundant. We will return again soon.
A special mention to Sara, thank you for everything.
K. H.
The staff here are incredibly kind and make you feel very welcome. The hotel restaurants are also really delightful and the hotel decor is really cozy, modern and well-kept. This hotel also has a really excellent gym (for a hotel), including an Olympic bar, bumper plates, smith machine, free weights and various cardio and weight machines.
I recommend going to the Palm restaurant and having Umberto make you a cocktail, he's the best! Cant recommend this place enough. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
P. P. (.
Immaculate hotel, beautiful both inside and out. Helpful and attentive staff. Single rooms are small but perfectly formed. In hotel restaurants are attractive with small but well priced items, which are presented beautifully and taste exceptional. Everything you'd expect from a 5* hotel.
B. W.
Great experience would definitely stay again. Beautiful hotel Staff most helpful and welcoming
C. L.
The Kimpton Hotel is a marvel ! We had the most marvelous family stay there. Our suite was super clean, bright and very comfortable. The bathroom included a walk in shower and a huge bathtub. The bed was really comfy. We were enchanted to find gifts that were offered to us by Elisa (thank you so much again!) from the hotel when we arrived in the room ! Comparing with other great places this hotel was an amazing experience.
The location is also very convenient as it is walkable distance from St Pancras and close to the underground. Would recommend with my eyes closed !
K. B.
We had a lovely weekend stay at this hotel. The location is outstanding with short walking distances to Soho, Regents Park or St. Pancras station. The hotel is gorgeous and recently renovated. Rooms are small as we came to expect in London but incredibly well designed. The only slight annoyance was that the rain shower was not tall enough for me to comfortably stand under. Service was very attentive and friendly. Overall we were very impressed and will be back!
S. 1.
such a beautiful tea room in the palm court. perfect stunning surroundings. nice food (not amazing but still pleasant). the only reason it gets 4 stars not 5 is the waitress kept forgetting us and we had to keep flagging her down. maybe she was new. the head waiter/ bartender was super gracious otherwise. in any case, will definitely return. great place for a ladies brunch
R. M.
Wonderful hotel. Very personal service. Rooms are on the smaller side but they make up for that with amenities including an excellent on site seafood restaurant called Neptune, 5pm social hour with free wine and nibbles and a lovely bar. Location is great - near the British museum
C. F.
I had a wonderful experience at the Kimpton Fitzroy, thank you all for making my stay so special. Big thanks to Walter who showed me around the hotel and to whomever is responsible for leaving a delicious birthday treat in my room 🎉 The staff are lovely and very helpful and the hotel is stunning, highly recommend!
T. S.
Beautiful hotel, the gym is excellent. The amenities of having a coffee shop, cocktail bar and restaurant mean this is a great hotel for a staycation. We live around the corner and loved our one night treat. The design of the room is slightly old fashioned for my taste and it is very small, although this is normal for central london. Bearing all in mind i felt it was really good value for money. Would recommend and would stay again.
J. F.
One of my favorite hotels in the world. Beautiful, clean, and comfortable. If you haven’t stayed here before you’re really missing out. The staff is by far the BESt I’ve ever seen.
F. K.
If you like the classic look, this is the place to stay. From the traditional fireplaces in the rooms to gorgeous gold coloured taps in the bathroom, it's the type of surrounding that make you feel all cosy. Having said that, of course it has all the mod cons of USB charging ports and smart tvs etc.
S. S.
This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The staff went over and beyond, were friendly, helpful, and were very accommodating. There was a mix up with my booking but it was quickly solved in a no fuss manner. Nothing was difficult or an issue for the staff and they did everything with a smile. For any future trips to London this is the only hotel for me.
C. T.
Beautiful hotel with very nice room and great service. I was on first floor and the dance music on Friday night was loud until about midnight but it didn't bother me as I was in New York time. Those who would prefer to sleep at that hour should probably be above the first floor. Loved my stay here!
N. T.
Staff is very friendly and always smiling. A minute walk to metro. Gym is spacious and well equipped. Room is very cleaned. They provide complementary snacks everyday. The hotel restaurant and cafe are decent too. The interior of the hotel is nice and well maintained. Only downside is the room is not big.
A. B.
This hotel is gorgeous. I wish I could stay when I’m in London in business but unfortunately our budget won’t stretch that far. Worth a visit but rather expensive. The cocktail bar is lovely too. Go for breakfast at the Italian cafe on the park opposite! 😜

Nice hotel with beautiful architecture on the outside and nicely decorated on the interior. Elevators were extremely efficient which is always a plus. I like the location of being Central London yet still quiet and walking distance to many attractions.
The one drawback is that they don't seem to really respect IHG Spire members. I was not able to have my request for early check in granted and after pleading with a person at the front desk was given access to a room 30 minutes prior to the guaranteed check in of 3 pm. Furthermore, I was not able to be given a complimentary Spire upgrade due to the excuse of them being "fully booked." Therefore I had to stay an entire week in what was a very small room.

Simply perfect! The Palm is a beautiful and tranquil setting. Our waiter was very attentive and made me and my sister feel so comfortable. Recommend afternoon tea to anyone looking for some quality time with friends or family as well as a quality setting.
K. A.
this is by far a GREAT hotel, the staff is AWESOME, Luis Cesar one of the concierge was the VERY BEST, anything we needed he set it up for us and he was always on point, he was made our trip so special. Abdi was at the front desk and he too was very helpful, he helped me out with some very important papers i needed. the entire staff was great. I LOVE THIS HOTEL!! march 2019

Nice hotel. Good location. The room card didn’t work several times so I had to go back and forth to the reception desk. Except that, it’s a decent hotel. But considering it’s a 5 star hotel it should be better than this.
L. F.
We stayed at this hotel for 1 night 25/1/20 and it was excellent. We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely and everywhere was clean and the hotel itself beautiful. Staff were friendly will definitely be back
T. G.
Wonderful newly renovated hotel, small but very comfortable rooms, professional and helpful staff, great gym (for a hotel), breakfast a bit overpriced but good, nice restaurant and exquisite bar. Will come back asap.
A.
A bit disappointing.
The staff are very polite and nice.
The rooms are nicely decorated, but minute, and the already small bed is cluttered with cushions that just take up space.
The bathroom is spacious, probably acyually bigger than the room, but my partner is 6ft tall and could not take a shower. The shower head is fixed to the ceiling and too low, so they had to crouch the whole time.
Unfortunately, the food in the restaurant and room service is just not up yo standard.
Small portions and forgettable flavours :-(
Also, the main restaurant is closed on Sundays.
Overall, there's nothing the Kimpton offers over the very similarly priced Intercontinental London Park Lane, or the cheaper at the O2.
Both are better choices, in room, service, and food. The new Crowne Plaza Abert Embankment is also better, so why would you choose the Kimpton???
M. D.
Beautiful. Would have given 5 but our breakfast was an hour late and made us miss our reservations for a tour. They offered us a discount on our breakfast but still charged us $40 more than the menu prices. They also offered us $30 credit to their restaurants which we weren't able to us prior to leaving.

An unforgettable experience at one of the top hotels in London. Ideal location, the height of glamour and luxury
a. H.
Although I didn't get to stay in the hotel we had an amazing meal in the restaurant, the staff were very informative and very welcoming they were great at recomding drinks in the cocktail bar... The hotel has excellent facilities for disabled people. The coffee bar is also great they made an excellent mocca coffee.
S. L.
Stayed here for 12 nights on my first stay in London. Front desk service was great but the same can't be said for the house keeping. There were instances when they forgot to replenish the toiletries items on a few occasions and rude behaviour on our last night when they knock fiercely on our door to do house keeping. Hot water was cut off on one morning too. Room service food was also not up to expectation.
D. N.
The hotel first impression was very impressive. it's well renovated. the breakfast in the morning ist extensive. The bar invites you to linger. It was a great stay. only the ventilation system was very disturbing. However, i would recommend this hotel.
K. D.
A beautifully restored hotel. An absolute pleasure to stay there. Staff were wonderful. Breakfast amazing. Lovely atmosphere.
M. E.
We stayed a week at this marvelous hotel. The staff was very friendly, always smiling, very helpful with all of our needs. The breakfast was excellent and happy hour to look forward to. This hotel is a must!
G. B.
Had our wedding reception here and it is so beautiful
J. S.
Brand new hotel, was renovated in Nov 2018. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are slightly smaller than what I expected, but good nevertheless. Rooms have a safe, microwave, fridge and tuck box (complimentary). 2 mins away from Russel square station.
A. P. S.
Very nice hotel in London. Nice gym, cosy rooms, and location works well for me professionally, which is why I’m a recurring guest. Rooms are mostly clean and dinner restaurant is okay for a “stay in” hotel evening.
J. M.
I organized a stay here for my in-laws as part of a 10-day Eurotrip and I could not be more glad that they stayed at this hotel (we live here in London and I’m sad we didn’t stay at the hotel too!). The staff went above and beyond to make sure that they had the most comfortable stay including an amazingly sweet surprise for my mother in law’s 50th birthday. We traveled to Barcelona and Paris as well and after the trip was over, they said London was their favorite city and I truly believe that’s largely in part because of this hotel. The location is perfect - just steps from Russel Square underground station and overlooking the beautiful Russell Square. It is a very short walk to Soho and The British Museum. We spent a lot of time with them at the hotel and it was absolutely gorgeous. Really a perfect hotel. Thank you so much to all the staff for making it a perfect stay. They said it was their favorite hotel EVER and didn’t want to leave!
N. S.
So much better since the refurb. Only ever used the bar but has developed from old man whisky den to excellent bar with a terrific cocktail menu.
If you want something central but off piste this is a great afternoon spot
t. r.
The hotel is very clean and newly renovated. I loved the bathroom design and the daily champagne social hour! Walter the head doorman was the best, I would definitely recommend this hotel and visit again. You can't go wrong!
D. S.
Nice ambient friendly staff .Expensive a bit
r. m.
A hotel with excellent services and well equipped meeting rooms and banquet hall. Morning tea and coffee in one of its restaurants can be yommy. Exciting experience. Located just about 1 minute walk from Russell Square underground station and 1 minute walk from Russell Square park. The hotel has amazing views and the interior decor will amaze you.
K. L.
I had a smallish room, at the top of the tower. That said, the room was very comfortable and the service from the staff were excellent. It’s convenient to the Undergound and the cafe at the ground floor plays some really nice afternoon jazz too.
D. G.
I cannot begin to explain how wonderful our stay here was, a beautiful room, but more importantly, the friendliness of the staff was like nothing we have experienced before, we felt like everyone of them was there just for us, we will certainly be returning very soon.
K. D.
Our stay was incredible from start to finish. We loved our suite, and we were extremely sad to leave. We are die-hard loyal Kimpton travelers now, for sure. Special thank you to Reuben at the front desk, and Andrew at Neptune & Palm Court. Their service was above and beyond!
D. H.
Beautifully restored and renovated hotel just steps from the Russell Square underground station (and across the street from Russell Square.) The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there are a few dining options on site. The Burr & Co. cafe is a nice choice for breakfast and coffee. The British Museum is only a couple of blocks away, and the Euston, King's Cross, and St. Pancras train stains are a reasonable walk or brief ride away. The are many shops and restaurants in the area, but they tend to cater to tourists, so check reviews.
R. K.
The nicest hotel I've ever stayed at. Stunning building, incredible interiors, superb staff, great little coffee shop / wine bar, excellent and convenient location. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.
R. S.
I really enjoyed the hotel. It is very well positioned, with lovely bedrooms, breakfast areas and bars. The staff is nice, helpful and professional. I definitely recommend it.
N. H.
Wonderful hotel. Very beautifully decorated rooms and public areas. Staff very friendly and helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble. Would definitely recommend.
G. B.
Are friends had there wedding her and what a lovely venue staff where great food was fantastic would highly recommend
P. B.
Beautiful landmark historic building.
Amazing, attentive, professional staff.
A hotel that really makes every effort to take care of and pamper its guests in terms of rooms/food/staff interaction with guests.
T. M.
Warm and welcoming from the start - doormen, reception, lift & general staff all pleasant and engaging. Well appointed room and good size for central london. Breakfast was excellent.
I. G.
First return since the refurbishment- didn’t stay just spent some time at the bar. It’s been brilliantly done, and the staff attention to detail and customer service are a delight. Prices are high, but worth it.
A. Y.
Perfect hotel, luxury. Good service. Very good restaurants. Perfect location. Excellent beddings. Beautiful lobby.
M. S.
Beautifully restored hotel in a great location; just reopened; dedicated staff. Amazing interior and guest rooms.

The Kimpton is under 12 months old however already leaving a positive mark in the area. Lovely decor and facilities with a fantastic team running it. Professional, friendly and attentive. I recently shot an event here and provided photography equipment for the teams, and the Ballroom was very impressive.
Look forward to visiting here again soon

Such a great Afternoon tea experience at Kimpton Fitzroy. The menu is all around the chocolate and single origins of the plantations. Each dish comes with the special cocktail which was infused with the chocolate.
You have a very nice choice of sandwiches (refill is available at any time).
The desserts are incredible combination of chocolate and different flavours such Chocolate and coffee or blackcurrant. You have white, milk and dark chocolate on the menu. And to finish you will be served with a big cup of hot Stout with 75% dark chocolate and vanilla cream.
It is an incredible experience which I would recommend anyone to try and it’s the best way to explore Afternoon tea.

Excellent hotel with a luxurious yet more relaxed atmosphere. Only issue is the low ceiling in the bathrooms and traditional fittings result in a low shower head and the need to squat whilst washing your hair!
A. T.
Beautiful hotel with a great bar and café! I had afternoon tea at the hotel and it topped my expectations. Will definitely come back!

The family favourite. Florie loves this hotel
K. R.
Fabulous. We booked to stay for a night in a standard room and were given a free upgrade to a suite which was stunning. I think there are still a few niggles with the renovations which have happened recently and the hotel changing hands but we have no complaints, the service was stunning
M. C.
The service I received was outstanding. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable! The hotel smells amazing and is so clean.
J. W.
Solid location, unspectacular rooms for the price point.
M. B.
My mother and I received exceptional service at this beautifully renovated historical hotel on our recent trip to London. Thankyou for making us feel so special, we loved our stay there.
黃.
Very nice hotel and good service
S. J.
Beautiful hotel, central location, clean and helpful staff. Easy setup and good WiFi. More choices for vegans desirable, that's the only gripe. Will I stay again, yes!
J. E.
Rooms were comfortable, friendly staff. Breakfast was however very slow, with some guests arriving after us but getting their food before us.. but the food was very good when it eventually arrived.
J. M.
I love this hotel it is the first time I've stayed and it was refurbished only a couple of days ago the rooms are really nice with little touches like a tuck box with a few snacks in and a fridge with a little carton of proper milk. All of the decor is very nice and the breakfast is locally sourced and tastes wonderful not like the usual buffet breakfast you get in most hotels. The staff are super friendly and make sure you have everything you need. I have booked this hotel for the next few weeks and I am hoping for the same experience each time.
C. R.
10/10. Can't fault it. Great location, room beautiful but a little small, lovey decor. Staff welcoming...
W. W.
Great location and super quiet in the room. Gym is excellent and open 24/7. All new Technogym equipment with many freewieghts, a Murphy bar and just about every machine you could imagine.
G. R.
Neptune Social hour, free drinks for hotel guests, an inspirational idea. The Neptune restaurant, brilliant sommelier, amazing chef, do feel that the menu needs some work. Cocktail bar with entertainment, love it; Negronis to die for. Great work!
N. H.
Very nice , tidy , cozy and clean , helpful staff.near to everything you ever need .
When I come to London again ,sure will be my first and last choice.
Advise also for the safety and friendly issues
S. C.
An iconic building across Russell Square with an Entreprise car rental a short walk away, and Russell Square Station right at the back of it. Room is fairly small for two, and the corridors are way too long, you’ll end up going around the building a couple of times before finding your room. On second thought, with the mirrors lining the lift lobby, you might feel like you’re stepping into another paradigm at times! Only gripe is upon checkout, the bell boy who saw us struggling with our luggage did not offer to help us carry our bags down the steps to the pavement and averted his gaze, avoiding eye contact. For the price you’re paying, you’d expect that that’s the least he could do.
N. G.
Beautiful building. No idea about the interior :p
j. c.
This Hotel is beautifully placed in a lovely part of London with Tube station right beside it ...It has all amenities of a very high standard and to top it off it's Staff are what make this hotel even more Special .My stay was short but I can't wait to return very soon .Thank you K F L.
A. G. U.
On appearance it looks amazing, staff so welcoming, I’m so lucky my son treated us to this lovely hotel, we couldn’t normally afford this hotel, can’t say anymore about the staff, fantastic.
Y. B.
Good was cold by the time it was served in the bar . Surroundings very beautiful
R. D.
Has had a fancy makeover in the last few years which has completely turned it around. Previously had a dowdy interior - now much more chic. Bar area is beautiful.
S. L.
I had stayed in several hotels for business trip in London. Kimpton Fitzroy is definitely the best even compare to other 5 stars hotel. Definitely will come again in future trips.
G. S.
Recently renovated. Very lovely property in a terrific location. Very poor and unstable WiFi so a bad choice for business travelers.
O.
Staff were very welcoming from the moment we walked in. The hotel is grand, luxurious and perfect for a special occasion.
C. L.
Beautiful hotel well appointed in a fantastic location. Also had the pleasure of attending a function in the ball room which was impressive and the food was very good.
J. G.
Nice hotel, good location. Not easy to get a drink. Restaurant closes early, lobby doesn’t serve drinks after 11pm and bar was fully booked by guest from outside the hotel. Not again.
J. F.
Fabulous, an all round positive experience. Excellent service, rooms very pleasing decor, very well appointed bathrooms. Lounge, bar, reception, foyer, doorman all first class. No negatives.
A. L.
Not bad at all. Only had the cocktails, but were pretty goood
C. H.
My husband and I stayed for one night in the summer. Our room good and the bathroom was really nice. Breakfast was fantastic! We didnt get a welcome drink/snack but had tea and coffee facility in our room. I would love to stay here again but I can't find any good deals at the moment.
信.
Very nice Hotel and good service
S. H.
Completely new hotel in a magnificent old building. Everything in the room was to the highest standards: the air-con, the bed, the bathroom, free wifi, smart tv, etc. The breakfast was lovely, with both continental and English options. Service was impeccable, with staff everywhere to help you. I was impressed. Highly recommended.
E. J.
Had a wonderful stay at the hotel for my birthday. The staff really made an effort to make it special for me. They upgraded my room to the beautiful junior suite and delivered a delicious cake!
The suite was stunning, especially the bathroom (amazing roll top bath!)
Thank you for such a lovely stay!
J. A.
Excellent service and very comfortable rooms in stunningly restored grand hotel.
L. C.
We have just come back from an absolutely lovely stay this weekend. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are excellent! Would definitely love to stay here again.
O. K.
I regularly stay in London, and this was among the best value for price hotels I've been to. Stunning building, attention to detail, great amenities from top to bottom (loved the "Tuck box") and outstanding staff. Will definitely stay here again.
A. M.
Great location phenomenal building upgraded rooms and amenities. World class fitness center. Very noisy tho beats the purpose of resting and refreshing after long days.
N. T.
Spectacularly looking hotel, inside and out.
A. J.
All I can say is thank you , I used the coffee shop this morning and dropped/lost my wallet . Staff found it and kept it for me until I came back ... honestly costs nothing thank you so so much.

It’s always hit of miss with service in London. This gentleman Adam just helped us move a boat load of things into the hotel. The Uber driver was loosing his cool and this tall hunk of a man just swoops in and helps with our whole production. Adam, you are our hero!
U. x.
It's a great hotel with friendly staff, beautiful décor.
L. D.
Wonderful! Such a beautiful hotel!

Fantastic Refurb. Amazing. Staff exceptional. Hotel brought back into next generation
Met with friends we worked there 5o years ago!!!!!!!
.
H. S.
Absolutely love this hotel - the decor, the service, the neatness, the location, the convenience and the human touch. The shower room design would need improvement; the height is too short for anyone taller than 165cm. That doesn’t bother me as the overall merits make up for it. Would recommend to anyone who travels to London.
O. M.
Beautiful place. Enjoyed a visit for wedding party, attentive members of staff, look forward to returning one day for drinks and or stay.
R. W.
Stayed here January '19. Cannot fault it, service, interior design, food, drinks all perfect. Gym is also fantastic. Highly recommend.
D. G.
Lovely, elegant, upmarket hotel with good business amenities & elegant service.
J. F.
Stunning hotel with lovely staff, no complaints here!
N. N.
The ONLY thing I can be critical about is breakfast. It definitely needs improvement . I’ve seen people walk out before they even sit down . But everything else about this hotel is amazing .
T. M.
The room is bit smaller than what I expected but renovations well done. Clean nice service. Great architecture building
s. m.
I stayed at the Russell in may 2015, this was due to my daughter being in the hospital nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The single room was very comfortable, clean and I was lucky to have a lovely view. The bar area was comfortable and served good food.the hotel was also very good value for money.
I would highly recommend this hotel and am looking forward to returning for a stay in the future, under better circumstances.
P. B.
A lovely hotel, only a hop skip and a jump away from the subway and many of London's treasures. The breakfast should keep you nice and full for a good chunk of the day :)n+ the staff are nice and helpful
S.
Nice hotel, lovely decor and rooms with friendly staff. Don’t bother with breakfast here at the Burr & Co, not organised at all, poor service. Went instead for breakfast to a nice little cafe around the corner called 49 Cafe.
Updating review:
Many thanks for your reply.
I would also like to mention that we did try breakfast on our last day at the hotels own restaurant (not Burr & Co) and it was very nice, and up to the expected standard of your hotel.
We would definitely stay here again.
A. G.
Old fashioned luxurious entrance, & beautifully decorated rooms to match.
Having only just found this place, i now am worried someone calling themselves a designer is going to ruin this beautiful hotel, out of all proportion & recognition!!!!
I hope not it had a unique character
J. P.
The Principal is a beautiful hotel inside and out. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the rooms were clean and well appointed with nice touches like a small box of free snacks.
손. S. M.
Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel is coooooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I go back to London one day, I will definitely stay at this hotel. To sum up in three words: Luxurious, Kind, Comfortable. Oh, and this place is too perfect location. There are parks, underground, train stations, cafes, small mall and marts nearby!
P. R.
Nice hotel, good location, staff are friendly and helpful.
D. C.
Lovely building, room was good, staff were great, food was ok!
V. D.
A stunning hotel, rich with history, wonderful friendly staff, delicious food and we thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay.

Amazing hotel! Very new and beautiful decorations! Love the marble lobby. Room is good size with a good size bathroom. Very comfy bed with white sheets. Very tasteful deco in the room. Staffs are amazing too, very knowledgable and friendly.
E. C.
Great place for a beer and a game of chess.
V. P.
The most divine setting for a weekend away. Fabulous room and delicious breakfast. So close to Bloomsbury and convent garden a walk away.
A. L.
Amazing place - you can relax - free WiFi of course and lovely staff.
D. B.
Fantastic hotel and staff. My favourite hotel to stay at on business in London. Prices vary significantly though; have to get lucky to get a room for less than £170
M. D.
Amazing property! Great service, location and eateries within. A great touch were the free popcorn, chocolate and water replenished nightly. The food and drinks were great!
M. H.
Nice hotel. Good service. Excellent location.
O. H.
Lovely hotel with a very friendly and cozy atmosphere, extremely focused on the wellbeing of their guests. Single rooms are quite small but perfectly clean and great beds. Restaurants for breakfast are a choice between the more relaxed cafe or a la carte in the upscale dining room. Area couldn't be better, close to SOHO and upscale London. All in all a hotel I plan to stay at once more very soon.
M. R.
Excellent hotel... rooms were clean and welcoming... staff were polite and very helpful.. a really enjoyable stay
J. B.
Staff incredibly helpful. Quite a dark hotel, very atmospheric
A. L.
We actually went to the restaurant, Neptune for dinner and the decor reflects the opulence of the past. The food however was very modern in it's treatment and was DELICIOUS! Obviously a seafood restaurant, it still has other menu items for non-seafood diners. The seafood was amazing. Best lobster dish I've ever had. The coffee was very good with a great taste. The staff in the restaurant was friendly and excellent in service. Well worth the visit
G. C.
A beautiful old building, fully renovated inside to a luxury five star hotel. Since it was still undergoing renovations when I stayed at the place early 2018, some of the lifts were closed to the public and you had to walk down to the gym at the basement. The rooms were not the biggest, but then again, they had to make do with an old building.
c. W.
It's a very beautiful and clean Cafe. The service is good. Their coffee is quite bit, maybe it's not to my taste.
I. K.
Food was good not the best that I've had. Service was slow but staff were friendly.
a. s.
Professional staff, excellent clean rooms, reasonably priced, only limited dining options and no spa i highly recomed my freinds to stay at kimpton
L. K.
Elegant upscale hotel conveniently located, good gym, great breakfast, coffee shop and bar. Rooms are small but carefully decorated.
V. H.
An excellent refurbishment turning a famous hotel in to a fabulous classy boutique property. Delightfully enjoyable.
C. H. (.
It was ok, the room was clean and comfortable but a bit shabby and not worth the price. The staff were all very nice.
R. V.
Elegant comfortable rooms, contemporary architecture.. located in central london, just next to russell square.. Big shout out to the staff especially Andrea at the concierge who made our stay a memorable one..
R. M.
Service is exceptional, rooms are nice, and location is fantastic.

What a beautiful hotel, rooms very comfortable and tastefully decorated, staff very helpful and friendly. Room 328 air con not working so well.

Amazing. .... 5 star hotel. Beautiful vintage style
A. W.
Went for a week of training here. The staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant was accomodating and the food was divine. Best experience on a training course so far!
M. D.
One of the best hotels we have stayed in
P. C.
Newly renovated, very attentive staff. Close to Russel Square Underground station. Free, fast wifi
O. I.
One of the few hotels in London where class meets value. Nice rooms, great and welcoming staffs
D. H.
Great atmosphere. Location is very convenient. Staff very efficient and friendly. Very satisfied after my first visit. Will certainly come back
P. N. W.
Excellent hotel. We had a lovely room. Nice walk outside to Russell Square and Holborn.
T. M.
The Principal just opened two weeks ago and all the staff is still very excited about it - only half of the hotel is in operation yet, so there are really way too much staff at this point.
We had a good clean room - though they were a little slow cleaning it one day - with everything needed for a good stay in London. We certainly didn't miss anything in our room.
The hotel has a very good bar too with plenty of interesting choices. We could easily have gone there every evening, but London was too much to offer to do that.
All-in-all a very good stay in a very good hotel!
G. R.
Beautiful hotel would definitely recommend
Don't do cocktails more wine focused but lovely place
M. C.
Wonderful champagne tea in the Palm Court served by lovely Stephan, and 9verseen by the charming Umberto. Thank you so much to all the staff!
R. H.
Always enjoy dining or drinking here so close to the tube and train stations great for a meetup with friends and a casual bite in Burr or a great meal in Neptune followed by the classy fitz bar after.
R. C. T.
Amazing ,feeling in paradise
B.
Lovely hotel with a spectacular bar and breakfast restaurant! Rooms are stylish but rather small..
J. S.
We recently stayed at The Principal Hotel in London, and it was an amazing experience from the moment we walked into the beautiful historically ornate, yet modern lobby. We had two rooms...a signature suite and a guest room. I would highly recommend booking the signature suite because it is a large room with a separate sitting area and a large bathroom with two sinks, a private toilet, lovely shower and free standing tub. The floors of the bathroom are heated, and there was a heated towel rack. The renovations to the hotel have just been completed, and it was nice staying in a "new" hotel. Burr and Co, provided a great continental buffet breakfast, Neptune provided a seat down breakfast, the Palm Court (which is a drop dead gorgeous space) was the perfect spot for afternoon tea, and Fitz Bar was a favorite of ours before and after dinner. We loved the speakeasy feel with a disco ball as the focal point of the room. A shout out to Patrick, the bartender and Walter, the doorman whom we both befriended during our 5 day stay. We are hotel snobs, and this one did not disappoint! We will return again and again!
S. J.
We had a really great stay at the Kimpton hotel. The suite was beautiful and the customer service was exceptional.
T. A. v.
Very nice room service and very comfortable rooms
S. B.
Fabulous hotel, friendly staff, lovely room, great food and the architecture and interior design is superb!
G. W.
This place has seriously benefited from the investment in its recent two year make-over 2016-18. What was formerly a terribly dowdy, dusty and depressing venue has now been reinvigorated - and it was a pleasure to spend time there. The new bar is terrific.
N. I.
Excellent hotel, recently refurbished and just few steps from Russel Square station. The standard double rooms are not spacious so be sure to have only soft luggage if you book this category. Breakfast is served at Burro’s in a very nice ambient. From the hotel to Oxfors street just 15 min walking.
J. C.
A fantastic stay - lovely rooms, amazing interior, friendly staff, great location, good breakfast at Burr & Co. Lots to do without even leaving the hotel - amazing bars, restaurant, cafe etc.
A pool would have made the visit even better.
The only negative point to make is that some of the towels in the room moulted white fluff when using to dry.
W. C.
Rooms were a little dated, restaurant was a little dated too, but you stay here for the proximity to Central London and for its wonderful architecture
C.
Great hotel! Great welcome. Walter the door man really brings the experience to life. Would highly recommend! #takesgreatpictures #payriseforwalter
F. S.
Very nice building, spacious rooms, great breakfast and friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more!
F. A.
Had the best waiter Adam. The sommelier Sampiero was
impeccable with pairing the wines with the food. Thank you all for the lovely service
D. M.
A lovely hotel, but very expensive for what it was. Hotels this nice outside london are notably cheaper and come with bigger rooms.
W. M.
Great location, loved this hotel and staff very attentive.. Fitz and Palm bar both very nice also
T. H.
Lovely hotel will defiantly retutn soon
D. N.
Special. Very nice indeed
S. W.
Smart. Privileged. Wonderful rooms and bathrooms, clean, pricey. Perfect for a couple of nights in central london
a. m.
Staff very snotty. Its not claridgs
P. K.
Hotel originally decorated by the same designer as the Titanic. Beautifully restored. The lobby and bar are particularly noteworthy. The coffee shop serves rather good espresso.
Guest room is very small for two people and not great value for the price. The double bed is a small double, barely 135cm wide, which some couples may find challenging.
S. M.
good service mitigates small rooms. nice gym and lobby with many nooks. also free coffee and food at 5:30 a.m.
B. P.
It is set up in a fantastic location with beautiful parks, squares and facilities the British museum is just around the corner, the public transport is next door and several options. The building itself is one of the most beautiful in the area. Beautiful rooms too and it's location at the heart of Bloomsbury means there's just too much on offer
J. S.
Just arrived home from a wonderful stay at the Kimpton over Christmas 2018. The room was fabulous, spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful especially considering that they all had to work over Christmas. The extra touches such as a Christmas stocking hung on your door on Christmas morning, a chocolate gift on Christmas night and luxurious chocolates on check out made the whole experience even more special. Our Christmas lunch in Neptune was also faultless and the staff were once again incredibly friendly and helpful. A true 5 star experience!!
M. T.
Top notch, keep it up and thanks for a pleasant experience.
A. A.
The hotel is very nice and the staff is helpful and friendly.. the room was small but I know that before
M. L.
Simply the best that London has to offer: history, style, heritage, character - it has been quite an experience staying here
T. M.
it's booked for colleagues,as they have one weekend to enjoy after a tight business trip.very satisified with the location and close to any famous place they want to.
S. M.
New, comfortable, and very well-thought, efficient rooms. Excellent service and some very forward-thinking aspects.
The location is excellent, overlooking Russell Square, sitting almost on top of the tube station (Piccadilly line).
The on-premise bar and restaurant are of a quality which their hotel setting attempts to smother, but they shine through. Approachable but still intriguing cocktails, well-designed small plates, interesting wine list, and the best food I have yet eaten in London (after only a few days, I must admit), make for a very memorable experience.

Came here for a coffee on a recommendation and it is worth the visit. The walk to the coffee area is beautiful, while the seating area is beautiful. Pastries at 9am on a Sunday could be a but lighter (pain de chocolate) but coffee is good. Definitely worth a visit!

I took my 9 year old son there as he is doing a school project about the Titanic. The staff were so friendly and helpful and proud to show us around at the amazing decor of the hotel and share it’s history with us.
We also got to meet lucky George the dragon who will definitely be featuring in my sons project.
Thanks again guys
Great experience

Great renovation. Modern sophisticated place to meet

The Hotel is brand new, it opened April, 16, 2018.
It is the old Russell Hotel, completely refurbished, but keeping the old architecture
The building is iconic, the decoration is superb and the team is lovely and very responsive.
Very comfortable rooms (albeit smaller than it should be), good bathrooms and very honest breakfast
The location is the best, close British Museum, underground and the cozy Russell Square.
Since the operation just started there are minor adjustments that are being made, but with thus team is just a matter o time
I definitely recommend The Principal to a good stay and in London

The old historic Russell Square Hotel was purchased by the Principal Hotel chain noted for elite hotels. They spent something like £80 million to restore this magnificent building. This is truly a building that cannot be duplicated. The main floor is constructed of the best materials crafted by artisans of another era.

Geeat Hotel. Great food. Luxurious surroundings. Very good service and staff.

Great interior and exterior! The marble was amazing. It's worth it to use the main staircase as the elevator is the smallest I've been in and on the 2nd floor there is a lovely dragon sculpture that Fitzroy Doll (architect for the Titanic and Hotel Russell) had made for the hotel. It's twin was on the Titanic. My Dad and I found that to be one of the best parts of the hotel. The bar was very nice, but the drinks were a bit overpriced. We had a twin room (no view, unfortunately) with very comfortable beds. The hotel is located around the corner from the Russell Square tube station and also a Tesco Express. Very convenient location, especially for getting to Kings Cross. Overall, it's a nice hotel with history and character.

Beautiful inside out..had office Christmas party amazing place to have nice time and also stay over.

We won a night's stay here but I will do my best to be impartial. We stayed in a double room and had complimentary welcome snacks and drinks. The bathroom was done in a lonely art deco style. As Londoners we are familiar with the area already but most tourists will find the area comforting and central enough. You can easily walk to Covent Garden or Soho in ten minutes or the British Museum in five. Other parts of London can be reached through the nearby bus stop or tube station. Breakfast was included and includes both continental style and greasy fried up which is great!
M. A.
Historical building now part of IHG , location next to the underground station, rooms are nicely sized for London

E. B.
Beautiful hotel next the park, short walk to Oxford st and China town .

Incredible architecture from late 1800's. Check out the Fitz Bar after hours, get Sean to make you a cocktail from heaven!
It's not cheap so be prepared, make sure you check the menu before ordering. Try the Daiquiris or the long Island ice tea.
There is a quieter bar if you're looking for intimacy.

Amazing hotel definitely going again and the staff where brilliant

Formerly 'The Hotel Russel' attributed to Charles Fitzroy-Doll ('all dolled up') and completed in the late 19th.Century. An elaborate confection clad in terra-cotta with decorative statues, busts and coats-of-arms. Recently refurbished ; an impressive and distinguished resident on this historic square.
