Reviews of London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square

Everything about our stay was excellent and exceeded our expectations. We had a one bedroom suite on the second floor (technically three stories up bc they start counting on ground floor) with a beautiful corner view of the park and the street below (room 219). The pullout sofa was handy since my daughter who’s studying in London was able to stay with us comfortably.
The housekeeping was immaculate!! Having traveled extensively in the US throughout covid, I had gotten accustomed to reduced and non-existent housekeeping service. Most Marriott properties we have stayed in over the past two years have a note saying “due to these unprecedented times, we won’t be doing daily housekeeping”… this was a delightful change back to normal!
The location was EXCELLENT! Such a quiet upscale neighborhood, but close to amazing shopping, dining and sight seeing options. It is walking distance to Buckingham Palace and Kensington Gardens. Easy walk to Soho for dinners and lively nightlife scene.
We had access to the M Club which had a continental and small buffet breakfast every morning, and light appetizers in the evenings. It was nice not to have to sit for a long or slow breakfast before starting our days, and the evening snacks where appreciated in between sight seeing and dinner reservations later in the evening.
Random side note, we realized that Friends filmed scenes in front of this hotel in the episode when Ross gets married in London. Joey and Chandler stand in front of it, and then Joey “goes into the map” :) Just fun trivia that we figured out and my girls enjoyed.
Everything about our stay was wonderful and we really didn’t want to leave! London felt vibrant, clean, safe and alive, unlike NYC and Philadelphia which we call home. I’d go back in heartbeat if I could!

Had a lovely stay. Staff were extremely helpful. The hotel was spotless. I was delighted at getting a complimentary upgrade also. The location of the hotel was perfect. Overall great experience & will highly recommend to my clients.

Stayed here for six nights on points which was great as it's not a cheap hotel given its location. Bang in the heart of Mayfair and a very short walk to everything - restaurants, the tube, shopping, etc. Very smart simple rooms and a great …

I visited for a recruitment Open Day and I was really impressed. The hotel smells really nice as soon as you walk in. The staff were polite and professional and a lot of the people, I booked to attend the open day were offered jobs on the day. They had laid on a delicious spread of patisserie and soft drinks, the pastry chef there is absolutely fantastic, I would imagine that all of the food is equally impressive. I would definitely return as a guest rather than in a work capacity.

The service is fantastic!
The food and ambiance in the Marriott Club Lounge is delightful. They serve an excellent breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, yogurt, and fruit.
The rooms are very nice and clean.
I love the location. It is within 30 minutes (or less) walking distance of Big Ben, SOHO theater district, China town, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, etc.

I had an amazing stay at the Marriott over the weekend. The staff get to know you before checking you in, and they were very polite. The restaurant was OK, but that was just my personal preference. Rooms were nice to stay in, big, and also speakers in the bathroom from your TV!!!

We were made to feel extremely welcome and every effort had been made to help us celebrate a milestone wedding anniversary. Sophere on the front desk was especially kind and attentive with excellent communication before and during our stay. …

Staff, led by Rebbeca Scott, did an exemplary job making sure that my accommodation and the hotel's service supported my visit. Visits in the past with family were perfect and so are my business trips. Great staff support all around. In my opinion, best hotel in London.

The staff are so helpful and welcoming. Very caring and polite attitude and tried very hard to make my stay as comfortable as possible. …

I just finished a lovely three night stay at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square hotel. This property finished an extensive renovation before the pandemic and has reopened after an 18 month closure. This was by far one of if not the best Marriott stay I’ve had in years. For all of those that love hotel lounge befits, the one at this property is very open with great selections.
My status was recognized and was automatically given a larger room with a park view. I had modified my three day reservation to two, and when I needed to switch back to three the front desk made the change and honored my great rate for the booking.
Shortly after check in I received a hand written welcome note and chocolates.
The rooms was large modern and stylish. It was nice to have a closet with an electric kettle and refrigerator. The bathroom was well done during the renovation with marble and modern fixtures.
I had zero issues with the WiFi speeds and was able to connect multiple devices with no problem.
Being from the US and someone that generally runs hot the air conditioning worked very well. It was able to keep the room colder than I need on average fall weather days.
The proximity to the Bond street shopping, busses and tube stations was great. Close enough to be able to take advantage of it all, but didn’t make the front of the hotel crowded or noisy.

Me and my mum stayed for a day of shopping and then onto the Chelsea Flower Show. We were welcomed by the friendliest staff who couldnt do anymore, honestly. We even got an upgrade. Everywhere was so clean and sparkly. The guys in the …

My wife and I spent 6 nights here when I ran the London Marathon.
The hotel & restaurants were 1st rate. The staff were especially friendly and helpful in every way.
The staff at breakfast each morning were fantastic as were the front desk.
The afternoon tea was a highlight for my wife. A very pleasant experience.
Hyde Park is across the street and provides miles of trails and lighted paths on which to stroll or run. Close proximity to Oxford St and Buckingham Palace.
We will stay here again if we have the fortune to return to London.

I went to a wedding at the Marriott Hotel. Very luxurious environment - polite and professional staff. The actual hall was lovely with a beautiful chandelier. Prime location in the centre of London. Stepping out of the hotel into the West End is a luxury.

For my wife for shopping was ideal as its position is just a few steps from Oxford Street. The service and the room were excellent but the Continental breakfast was very meager with not a lot of choice and would fail miserably against …

Our 5th or 6th visit to the Grosvenor House Park Lane was almost as fun as the first. The front desk, concierge and housekeeping staff was extremely helpful (and especially given Covid hassles), food and lounge amenities were ample and delicious and the overall ambiance of the hotel is still wonderful.
We spent almost 2 weeks and felt rested and well cared for all during our visit. Concierge helped with last minute theatre tkts for “Come from Away” which were lovely. We celebrated our wedding Anniversary and had a beautiful flower arrangement delivered which survived the whole stay.
The location is perfect for exploring museums and for a jog around Hyde Park.
So happy the Grosvenor House management is supporting its staff during this difficult time and looking forward to our next visit.

We had a wonderful weekend at this hotel nothing was to much . We had 4 children with us who were very well looked after . One of them it was his birthday weekend and hotel make it special. Breakfast was amazing. We all like to say a big big thank you to all the staff 😘😘😘😘😘
E.
great hotel in a great location, short walk to high end shops and also to various sights. close to Bond St tube station for connections elsewhere. minor criticism that reception area has very limited seating which only really impacts when waiting for others.

Stayed here for 5 nights using rewards points. The stay was 99.9% perfect.
The highlights:
- Room upgrade. Even though a reward stay, we were still upgraded. Even as somebody with Ambassador status, sometimes those of use using points get looked down on... but not here.
- Room. Looks like over the last few years many of the UK Marriott properties (Bristol, South Kensington, Marble Arch) have been significantly investing in modernization. Rooms here are upgraded and done up very well. Room was EXTREMELY quiet. Desk and chair in room were well suited for working on laptop.
- Breakfast. Considering we are still in the midst of COVID, I was grateful that a breakfast was offered. It was good. No complaints. The typical English offerings were available.
- Evening Snacks and Drinks. On weekends, these are available in the M lounge. On weekdays, they take you next door to the Gordon Ramsey place. I never went, but a really nice option.
- Fitness Center. Very nice for a basement location. Roomy, and they did a good job with the video wall to make it feel even bigger. A great place to stretch out and cool down after a good run through the park.
- Late Checkout. Late checkout request accommodated. 2 PM. I think this is one of those cases where Ambassador status helps.
- Water. Large bottles of still water were provided.
- Business Center. Seemed to be offline. I'm guessing due to the ongoing situation. I didn't need anything printed, so I can't share with you how that request would have been accommodated. If I needed, I would have just asked the front desk. I reckon they'd make it happen somehow.
The only issue had to do with a bunch of people doing COVID tests in the M lounge during breakfast! The staff dealt with it the best the could. As it relates to those doing the testing... well, stupid just can't be fixed. No fault of the hotel. I mean really... what type of morons show up with a group of 8 people and 2 nurses and start doing nasal swaps in the M lounge while people are eating!

Just used a an overflow waiting space for performance at the London Palladium. No complaints really, except the toilets could do with a refurb.

Arrived when the hotel was just opening up after Covid. The staff did their very best under difficult circumstances especially the German guy at reception (sorry don’t remember name) and the blond manager. Overall it’s a very good hotel. There a couple of things that would improve it and make it fantastic. The club lounge is a great space, but the food and drink is only served there Friday-Sunday, all other days you need to go to the Gordan Ramsey restaurant which doesn’t really work because they only give you one drink per person and 1 canapés, so you end up buying a whole meal in that restaurant. What’s more the choice in Gordon Ramsey is quite narrow, it’s not the casual hotel bar/restaurant you’d want at a hotel. You don’t feel like you can wait for your party there, it’s too formal.
At night they should dim the club room lights and make it feel more cosy. They should also get rid of the promotional video that’s playing on loop on the massive feature cinema tv screens, nobody wants to watch this, instead play old movies at night and create an atmosphere.
Overall very good, but with some of these tweaks it could be fantastic.
M.
We communicated with Francis and Manuel prior to us leaving the USA. They were most helpful in arranging tours, sightseeing tips, transportation and Covid-19’s tests. Very friendly and efficient.

Its a good hotel, location is really good, steps away from bond station. Hopefully they will be able to cater for MEA visitors in the near future 😁
V. R.
Good Central London venue for celebrations.
One snag is lack of ventilation and a very narrow foyer reception area with no ventilation in the light of Covid.
J.
Front of house staff are very good. Breakfast great. Room was comfortable.
s. A.
Venue was good. But catering was not up to standard. Which is not the hotels fault. The hall was beautifully set. Nicely seated chairs. Very spacious.
M.
Came here with my family - two kids and four adults. Had a great stay. Highly recommend.
J. S.
Nice hotel, small reception but excellent banqueting room
D.
This hotel is a typical of London hotels, very forgettable, I was impressed generally with the attitude of the staff they are obviously happy. Whilst rooms have been revamped an eye to detail is missing, We had a Club room complete with a kettle and packet coffee, very motel like.

This was a fabulous place to stay in London. It was so close to get things to do and transportation in the city. We also thought our room was so clean and so comfortable for good night sleep after busy day being tourists. The food here was good and staff very nice and helpful

As mentioned before, the location was excellent and the staff was very friendly. However the hallways and our room smelled strongly of stale cigarettes. So badly, that one day we requested a change of towels. This is unusual for a Marriott property and for the cost I would have expected better.

Perfect hotel to stay in for Oxford St and Regent St . The hotel was excellent .

Loved our experience at this hotel. We were upgraded to a suite and were very pleased.
The whole hotel has been updated except for the suites. It did not matter as we were pleased with our stay. On the way out, I was informed that the bottom floor suites are being upgraded now.
We will definitely be back to visit this hotel again.

Great gin bar. Toilets are a bit of a walk.

This is my first stay at this hotel (I come to London a lot). It is a nice hotel and worth staying at. The comments so far seem to be about dated rooms, but the room that I got was quite new (see attached pictures). There was also a complaint two months prior that dealt with construction, so they obviously renovated all their rooms. The rooms are very modern, clean, comfy and slick. The bed and chairs are rather comfortable. My room had a heavy new carpet smell though that I didn't notice after being in the room for 10 minutes. The TVs are large and nice (I always attach my Fire Stick to it) and the internet was fast. The service is top notch and like someone said earlier - almost too much.
S. M.
Such a wonderful stay at this Marriot hotel.

Location was perfect, but hotel needs renovation. Rooms were smaller than expected. Beds have sharp edges and bathroom rather small. The staff were extremely helpful though and concierge offered excellent service. Look for Francis in concierge and he would make your stay extra delightful.

Spent a week here and it was perfectly comfortable. We loved the central location and the stylish neighborhood. Service was very friendly. When you book, you may want to request a park view. This is a really lovely hotel. The staff are friendly, from reception staff to housekeeping. Nothing was too much for them and they were happy to provide whatever I needed.
The rooms are spacious and clean, and every time I have stayed here I was made to feel so welcome. The hotel location is perfect for shopping trips, the West End and bars/night life. Would recommend!

Another Marriott great hotel. If you can book a balcony/garden room they are great. The club lounge is worth the additional cost. We did not need much help from the hotel staff but everyone was courteous and greeted us every day. great location for shops, theatres and attractions

I am at the Marriott quite frequently as our offices are just around the corner. Hotel staff are helpful. The room is clean and neat. I am a Platinum member with Marriott and had thought there might have been some kind of upgraded view or top-notch room. The breakfast buffet was adequate.
S. L.
Reception staff and housekeeping were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are on the smallish side but not bad for two. Room service was wonderful. I would stay here again.

This hotel never fails to please with its great location and friendly helpful staff.
From the moment you arrive you are treated like royalty but without pomp and ceremony.
Executive Lounge one of the best that we’ve stayed in...delicious food and drinks and very obliging.
Housekeeping replaced toiletries daily and room was always cleaned thoroughly.
Public areas also always spotless.
Gym surprisingly equipped for hotel.
Just wish we were in London more often as this would definitely be our hotel of choice.

Nice place. Modern look. Each room (from what I know) has a mobile phone with unlimited talk text and data use - that is actually free (to use). That phone as proved an invaluable navigational and useful communication utility as I live outside Europe and don't have an international phone plan. It's a little pricey though, compared to other nice Marriott's.

Good overall experience. Professional, expedient and friendly. Rooms functional, clean and decent size. Gym is better than most other hotels, albeit small. Only concern is restaurants, as they are not well coordinated and no option to eat …

The staff and Room were lovely. Unfortunately we were right above the Night Club. We had just finished a two week vacation staying in some of the most amazing hotels. (Kasbah Tamadot, La Mamounia). We love London and try to go every year. This hotel is one of the noisiest rooms I have ever stayed in.

I am partial to Marriott's because they are so consistently good and have good lounge experiences. This Marriott has an over-the-top exec lounge and is a really wonderful hotel with a great location. The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly.

The meeting room facilities are very good, with the only defect of being in the lower ground level. The food was great, both for the lunch buffet and for the social dinner. The staff was kind, helpful and professional at all times.

The rooms are very nicely furnished and cosy, with a modern twist. The one we were in had a fake fireplace which was really cool. Absolutely fantastic location in central London. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful hotel with great staff. Nice rooms and excellent choice of food. The hotel quietly boasts to have one of the best cocktail bars in London (The Luggage Room) and I would have to agree. Every cocktail is a creation and they take great pride on making their customers happy.

Attended an awards ceremony here. The venue is stunning with beautiful light furnishings and the chandeliers to die for. Staff extremely helpful and accommodating. There were around 350 of us and the food came out in excellent time, all piping hot as there were plenty of waiting staff. Good quality food - not huge portions (except for the dessert which was an enormous jam jar of delicious lemon posset! A lovely afternoon. Highly recommended as a venue.

As a woman on my own I felt very safe and was treated very well. A good neighbourhood with a great local pub just steps from the hotel driveway. Walking distance to many attractions and the theatre district was close by, relatively speaking. I would definitely return.

Went for a professional event. Hotel was clean and inviting. Staff were well presented and helpful. The restrooms just off the main foyer were beautiful. The hand soap smelt lovely and the hand lotion was of good quality.

The Marriott Grosvenor Sq is a good hotel in one of the best spots for shopping in London. Easy walking distance to pretty much everything.
Rooms are ‘cozy’ but clean and the staff are amazing and friendly from the doormen, receptionists and the house cleaning service are all super super helpful.

I saved up a lot of points and stayed here for 5 nights. It was well worth it. The hotel is in a good location, clean, friendly staff and everything was excellent. I would stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone going to London.

I have consistently have great experiences at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square hotel. I feel comfortable there and the service is top notch. Sometimes there are issues with the in-room internet but not bad enough to stay somewhere else.

This hotel is superbly located, in an attractive building from the outside. Unfortunately, the charm quickly falls past reception and the room we had felt pretty ordinary despite the high price tag. A number of features were in need of some renovation (e.g. awkward bathroom door with two panes that did not close properly). Nothing dramatic, but one would hope for a little bit more polish. A bright spot, however, is the restaurant attached to the hotel, Maze by Gordon Ramsay, which was both excellent and great fun.
