I needed a room for one night for work. The hotel is in an excellent location really close to tube and bus stops. I checked in very late which was no issue for the staff. Room was as described on the website, yes it was small, but I was aware of that, very clean, comfortable bed. It was not en-suite, however the bathroom was close by and again clean. In the morning I had a cooked breakfast which was prepared quickly, staff very efficient, friendly and polite. Would recommend, yes some rooms may be small, but they are not hiding this in the description of the hotel. Clean rooms, nice staff, what else do you want for an overnight work visit?

Fantastic hotel with great value. We stayed for two nights, and location could not be better, 1 min from the tube and walking distance to lots of great London attraction. Very good breakfast, and very friendly staff. Highly recommended, we will stay again for sure.

What a lovely hotel this is. Such charming, warm and friendly staff. A lovely birthday surprise in my room too. Great location especially for visiting The Royal Albert Hall an easy walk (about 10/15 mins) We ate in their Indian restaurant and were delighted with the quality of the food and wonderful service. Breakfast (continental included in our very reasonable price) was very good and again the staff were wonderful. You can buy cooked breakfast if preferred. Very happy to recommend this friendly, comfortable, and well situated hotel.

A welcome from the staff as soon as you enter the Montana Hotel sets your mood just right and homely. Brilliant service from staff, rooms are compact but gives you the essentials - worth the value of pound. Really nice room. Staff brilliant. Only downside one waiter didn't know what gluten free was in the Indian restaurant. But really funny as he tried explaining hot and medium strengths Currys. But it was really nice. So it made me laugh. Xx

Now this was a wonderful surprise, especially in a typically expensive place like Kensington! A family-run hotel with on site restaurant specialising in excellent Indian cuisine. The hotel is decorated in that typically beautiful Indian way with rich colours and luxurious soft furnishings as are the rooms. The staff are wonderful people indeed and I was sad to check out. I'm looking forward to visiting again! Nothing is too much and service is always given with kindness and a smile - the authentic Indian way of hospitality. A much enjoyed experience which I would recommend to everyone.

After giving me the wrong room, the staff changed it as soon as I brought it up, being always cheery, polite, and attentive to guests. The breakfast was a little dry, but a bit more TLC on the recipes and serving the plate immediately when its called would fix that right up! 😋 The price, location and staff are on point, and worth booking early on, the Montana really HAS been a good choice!

Ignore the doomsayers like Lennard!! This place is excellent. For under £100 per night, you won’t get the Dorchester! You get a clean room with great views. Tea and coffee in the room, and Light of India is next door. Sure, I’ve stayed in fancier hotels all over the world, but I’ve paid for the “privilege” Handy for the museums and the cool vibe of west London. Book a room: enjoy life 👍🏾

This was a lovely and quiet hotel in a superb location. The staff went above and beyond for our family and small child, even giving him high-fives and slipping him extra Nutella at breakfast. The room was clean, well appointed, and comfortable, with a fridge, safe, and hair dryer; the room wasn't large, but it was everything that we needed for our family getaway. Will definitely stay there again.

Lovely hotel in a great location. The staff clearly take pride in the presentation of the hotel and everything is well looked after. It isn't ultra-modern, but that gives it an upmarket feel if anything. The restaurant is excellent, although not the cheapest option nearby. The only difficulty is the shared bathrooms which were busy write often and not immediately easy to find.

We enjoyed our stay of two nights. Hotel staff was friendly. Room was decent size; small but manageable. Restroom was good size and everything in good condition. Location is amazing. Cross over two streets and Gloucester station is in front of you. There is a Tesco two blocks away for convenience items such as sandwiches and drinks. We did not have a chance to try the breakfast, so no review there. It was posted as 8£ each. I would stay again in the future.

Super nice staff, professional service. The room was clean and in a very classy design. The toilets were okay but super small. The location is perfect for museum lover or to go to Victoria and Buckingham palace. Underground stop is 5 minutes from the hotel. But I wouldn't book the breakfast anymore. Quite expensive for what you get. Last story: we had to leave at 4:45 am to the airport. It was no problem at all. The friendly staff ordered a taxi and helped us to find the right time to leave. Three th uhhjmbs up!!!

Wonderful location for sightseeing London. Right near Natural History Museum, and the Victoria Albert hall. I personally like the period furnishings and our room was nice even though it was a lower level unit. There could have been washcloths offered, but other than that, a lovely hotel. They also have excellent Indian food at their in-house restaurant that had great service and good portions for a comparable price.

This is a great place to stay for commuting on the tube/subway to all major attractions. The rooms are not as up to date as say aNorth American Best Western but they are clean and comfortable. The staff,especially Maria, made the stay a 4 star! Oh an the breakfast was 4 star...

The elevator is tiny it fits 3 people max.The rooms are small. Although it was very clean and tidy. They take good care in terms of cleanliness. The downside was the room door,couldn't open properly it was hitting the bed because of being so small. The washroom was very clean.There's an Indian restaurant in the hotel and you can feel the smell in the room sometimes.

What a lovely hotel in a perfect location for the Royal Albert Hall as well as the Natural History, Science and V&A museums. Staff were welcoming and polite. Rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable. I would like to have seen Fire Escape instructions clearly defined in the rooms however, especially as we were on a lower floor and could only find a lift to use to get to road level. The Indian Restaurant attached to the hotel was lovely. The food was amazing. Quick links via tube from Waterloo station. The hotel is very close to the Gloucester tube station so no long walks dragging bags. I would highly recommend this hotel and restaurant. I will stay here again when I am in that quarter of London.

I visited the Montana hotel with my daughter and my 2 grandchildren. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. They changed our room to a lower floor so that our baby monitor was in range which meant that we could leave the room and chat in the bar. The hotel is very clean and attractive. I'll be honest, from my experience this hotel is only rated 3 stars because some of the fixtures and fittings are a bit dated. Some people say the rooms are a little small but we booked a family room and it was huge! We had a fridge, safe, AC and mini bar in the room and all the beds were comfy. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were fantastic and the food was lovely although the Indian restaurant was a little expensive. Having said that, you're in Kensington, everything's expensive! In summary, I would 100% stay here again.

We arrived about 2pm on a Monday. As everything had been paid in advance, check in took a matter of minutes. We were given a room in the basement, accessible via stairs off the bar. The room had two twin beds, a desk and bureau, small refrigerator, closet, TV, and a bathroom with full bathtub and shower and large medical cabinet. It was incredibly spacious by London standards. Of course, not all was glorious: the room was very warm and humid even with air conditioning cranked as low as it could go, and our window view looked upon a nasty-looking cement drainage basin between buildings. I kept the curtains closed. A minor issue, all considered, but worth noting. The room was nice and quiet. Few rooms were along that hallway so there was little foot traffic, and no street traffic near us at all. I actually slept pretty well. Everything in the bathroom worked without issue. We loved having a fridge in our room--there's a great Waitrose right across the nearest intersection, which made it easy to stash food and drinks in our room! The front desk staff was very pleasant whenever we passed through. Room service did a good job whenever they came by each day. The breakfast buffet was included with our room package. The best way to describe it is "meh," as it largely consisted of generic, made-long-in-advance foods like you'd find at a cheap motel chain breakfast buffet in the US. The only stand-out was the strawberries, which were fresh and fantastic. The staff there was nice and eager to help, but the mediocre food just didn't make it worthwhile to utilize again. The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic. It's just across the street from the Gloucester Road tube station. This was an easy connection point into the city, and on the direct Piccadilly line to Heathrow. Within walking distance are numerous restaurants of various ethnicities and price points, plus several great museums. We enjoyed the short walk up to Kensington Palace and Hyde Park. The neighborhood felt very safe.

Have visited their dining area 2ce and absolutely loved it! So quiet and peaceful place with professional and friendly staff. Not fancy, but rather I felt myself as if i visited my old friend's home. Was ordering vegetarian dishes which left me very satisfied) Would probably recommend to go there during the lunch time, as it is not that busy .Will definitely go there again when back to London !

Fantastic and friendly service at the reception desk. They took their time making sure we knew how to get back to the airport on a Sunday morning. The room was small but cozy. The bathtub was especially nice after a long day of walking around Soho. There is also a extra local smartphone provided in the room with data and calling that you can take with you on your day trips around town!

My friend and I took a trip to Europe this summer, and while we were in London we stayed at the Montana Hotel. It was pretty good for the price, however the room did smell a little odd and it was really hot (but it was +30 out, so I can't really complain about that). Although whenever we turned the air conditioning on it was super loud, and opening the window disturbed the peacefulness of it all. Other than that, I liked it a lot. The continental breakfast was always delicious. The people there were pretty friendly. If I ever head back to London I would most definitely stay there again.

A great find. We got stuck in London overnight due to passport problems. This hotel was near the tube station at a very busy junction. I asked for a quiet room and was given a chance to look at a basement room. Perfect. Spotless, comfortable and QUIET. Nice breakfast and off we go. This is my hotel in London when I'm back.

This was the worst bed I slept in in the UK. Very hard, so much that I slept on top of the covers to get some padding. Combined with the inconsistent water pressure and small size of the room, I'd say it's not worth the price. Their Indian restaurant is fantastic, though.

Location is great, almost being on the corner of Gloucester Road and Cromwell Road. It even had it's own flag, rather than a big sign. The room was quite narrow, but it was pretty much what I expected. The shared bathroom/toilet was around a couple of corners in one of the numerous corridors. However, it was always clean and available when I wanted to use it. It is probably worth noting that the lift is quite small and really can only accomodate a couple of people at a time, unless you know them very well. Service was generally very good and polite. For the money I paid, in Central/West London - I would certainly say that it was value for money.

It is very close to train station so this is a good place for you to stay if you want to visit London and plan to stay at south side of the city. Located in Kensington, 3 min walk to the subway (then 18 min ride to downtown London) and the "hop on hop off" bus stop less than 1/2 a block this hotel is very well.placee to visit London. The Light of India restaurant attached services (IMHO) some of the best India food I've ever had. It's a formal restaurant, great place for adults, might be a bit too upscale for kids under 10. The same restaurant serves a wonderful cold breakfast in the morning. We purchased the breakfast option while staying - definetely would do it again. On the buffet table - breads, muffins, sweets pastries, sliced meats, cheeses, tinned and fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, juices, milk GREAT coffee & tea. Service in the restaurant and front desk was very professional and friendly. Always willing to help. One negative or I should say heads up - the hotel is an old Georgian home, smaller room and a tiny elevator. Some rooms are VERY small (second floor) and some have a shared bathroom. Ask for room 408 (I believe that is the one we switched to). Much larger and we asked for a mini fridge which they did bring up second day. Clean place, lots of charm, in a fantastic area - 3 min walk to Starbucks and a small grocery store ( food, wine, beer, pop, etc.) 4 stars given because the quality and size of rooms varies greatly - ask for a higher floor room - larger size. 😁

We just returned from a wonderful two-week stay at the Montana Hotel. The staff were most helpful and friendly and made our trip memorable. They offered good advice whenever we requested it and always asked where we had been that day, how it went and suggestions for further forays into the city. We had a great breakfast every morning after a good night's sleep. The room was small but had everything we needed in it. There was lots of closet space and drawers to put everything away so that I didn't have to use my suitcase again until we left. It was also quiet at night which I didn't expect because the hotel is so centrally located. The tube and bus stops are just across the street. There is also a grocery store, pharmacy, currency exchange, restaurant, pubs, churches all within a stone's throw of the hotel. A short walk away is the Royal Albert Hall, Natural HIstory Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Kensington Park, etc. We especially appreciated that without exception, the staff were kind, unfailingly pleasant and most helpful. Can hardly wait to go back!

In July 2016 a really friendly guy called Elvis helped us out. It was late at night and we had gone to a concert and fell short because the act we came to see was on later than expected. Anyway we was looking for a hotel to stay in and we couldn’t find any and even the Montana Hotel was full but this guy helped us find a place to stay the night and he was welcoming, friendly and very helpful the man gave us a drink and we was really appreciative. We are so grateful for this mans help and hospitality.

Lion’s Bar Review: Friendly Staff. Good service. We booked Lion’s Bar for a big group of us, around 20-30. The manager, Subodh, was extremely accommodating and courteous, he even offered us free canapés , which were delicious tandoori chicken pieces and other fantastic nibbles from the restaurant in the hotel, Light of India. The only thing that could have been improved was that sometimes the barman, who was a lovely friendly chap, had to leave the bar to get the drink orders from the restaurant and that made the service not as good as it could’ve been. I wanted to give 4.5 stars not 4 but didn’t have that option. I hope to book this bar again for another one of our gatherings soon.
