R. C.Having moved into the area recently i was looking for a local. From the first night i found an extremely friendly, laid back and happy clientele. The food is excellent, served with a smile and good value. Pool is excellent and is always in action. This is not a swanky, expensive, snooty gastropub: if you want that go elsewhere. If you want good honest down to earth pub service and a lovely crowd to mix with then this is the place.
H. G.We hired the Karl Marx Tea Room for a party last Sunday. There were 30+ of us with many kids. We took our food, and were able to use the kitchen to keep the food warm in the oven, dish out food, carve meat. We spent the whole winter afternoon at the Old Crown. Everyone had a fabulous time - well into the evening in time for the live music. Our remaining few guests joined in, played the guitar and sang. Patsy and the whole staff were wonderfully laid back throughout the day. They served us clean plates and cutlery, tea and coffee, as well as drinks continuously, making us welcome all the time. Thanks to everyone at the Old Crown. You are fantastic!
G. W.Live music, enough space to relax and reasonable prices on drinks. There's apparently a B&B nearby as well, but the bar didn't seem like a tacky attached pub. Skip the inside pool table, as it'll eat your coins – staff will pay you back though. Luckily there's another out back, which is also covered.

I have been going there on and off there for years and it's the only pub in London that I will always go back to.
