Helpful staff, decent, if dated in parts. Clean & comfortable. Great location just up from Russell Square.
Great breakfast included in the rate.
Room had a comfortable double bed, storage was a bit tight, could do with a bigger wardrobe. Huge android TV on the wall, which swivels into many positions.
Should you be visiting in the colder months, the massive radiator will keep you fine & warm overnight. Might not be obvious to some, but there is a large valve, which will close off the radiator, if you get too warm.
Bathroom was a bit on the small side. Toilet is almost right up against the wall, door would cut your legs off, if anyone tried to get in while it was busy... Water pressure was fantastic, bath filled up in no time & what a shower it has!!
The view, was a huge let down, if you were looking forward to seeing anything at all. We had been moved from a view of the local garden square, as no bathtub in the room, to another, which had zero view, but the bathtub. Which I was more than happy with. A bit noisy in the mornings, with fans from the kitchen.

Stayed for one night Saturday 5th February 2022. Prior to going to the theatre to see phantom of the opera which was excellent. Good location within easy walking distance.
It was good food very clean rooms but had problem with the cold tap in the sink only giving out warm water.
No good for filling the kettle or cleaning teeth with.
Had to go to reception and given some bottled water to use.
Sunday morning could not turn shower on so tried calling the reception but no answer so again went downstairs to reception and was given another room just to use to have a shower. Not good really for a hotel of this standard. The bar closes at 10pm so can't come back to the hotel for a drink after seeing a show for a late drink before returning to our room.
But every thing else was good. Breakfast excellent.

Really nice hotel.
The front and loccy can be mistaken for being an exceptionally high end hotel.
Staff were friendly too.
Once we got to second floor I did think most of the money may be in the lobby 😅
The rooms are really clean and the bed comfortable although a little hard for.me.
Single paned windows and I could feel the cold coming through. Fortunately the duvet kept us warm enough. The bathroom is really small. I don't have the smallest arses and I was touching the wall! Squished up.
Would probably suit being a shower only area instead of having a bath in it. No plug sockets near bed and only 1 spare one.
Would more than likely revisit though!
Just hope those rowdy women that stayed last night wouldn't be there again.!

Had a lovely time staying at this hotel for the weekend. Staff were lovely and helpful. Room spacious and had a good powerful shower. Breakfast was very nice with a good choice of food. Can't wait to go back again.

Nice place, unfortunately we were only there for one night so didn't really get to experience it fully.
Room was comfortable and not to small, only slight issue was the main road was a bit noisy but that's just the joys of staying in central London....
The lounge unfortunately shuts at 10pm so by the time we got back it was closed which is a bit of a shame.
Breakfast was nice and a good selection, and the coffee kept flowing 👍👍

Staff were really helpful and lovely. They made the stay very memorable so I appreciate that. The room was clean and basic but it was a budget hotel so it's perfect for an affordable clean hotel.
Location was great. Next to a bunch of restaurants and stores and a station. Only downside was that you could hear fellow hotel members as they wandered past but it wasn't too bad.

I only stayed at President Hotel for one night but wish it were longer! The room is on the smaller side, but comes with everything you need. Breakfast was delicious and I found the staff very pleasant to deal with.
It’s very close to the Russell Underground station for easy transportation, and reasonably priced.
I would definitely return.
J. B.
Easy access to the main tourist areas, hotel is clean and tidy, beds comfortable.
Service was impeccable and very accommodating.
Breakfast was great.
All in all will definitely come again.

We had a great time at their Fawlty Towers themed lunch. We were celebrating friends' joint birthdays.
The actors playing Basil, Sybil and Manuel were excellent in their roles. Very funny, rude and near-the-knuckle.
Highly recommended as a special treat for couples or groups.

Decent enough place. Reasonable price for new years eve. Beds a little uncomfortable. Clean and tidy hotel. Breakfast could've been hotter. Overall not bad at all
A.
Hotel staff at reception were fantastic, professional and informative. Breakfast was plentiful, hot and varied. The restaurant staff were friendly even though they were very busy on Sunday morning breakfast. Tables were cleared and sanitised before the next guest were seated. Overall this place is very good value for money, clean, in central London and overall a nice hotel. What more could you want. Would definitely come back again.

What a lovely experience, the service was impeccable, the rooms just right, and Mersim took such good care of us! Will definitely be back. A sure fire new favourite. Thank all for your attention to detail and for making out stay so perfect
J. O.
Thank you so much to all the staff of this wonderful hotel for treating us so well
we were in London for a trip to Legoland with our young son who was delighted to discover a letter from the hotel with a Lego 🎁 on his bed on return.
The location is fantastic only 30 seconds from Russell square tube, breakfast was lovely and for such a large hotel it had a lovely family run feeling
Can’t wait to return thanks again

Good location. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent and just made for me. Room wasn't super tidy and bathroom or shower wasn't the best possible... Still room was OK and I would recommend to choose this hotel.

It's ok, a little bit overpriced for what it is - A big hotel with a lot of traffic. If you're coming to London, don't take this as a typical hotel because I've seen far better - and some worse - 3 start hotels like this. On the plus side we came for the Faulty (not Fawlty) Towers experience which was brilliant and funny and saw the biggest lump of chicken on a plate I've ever been served. The breakfast food was self-serve and ok, no real complaints except I imagine those wanting something other than a full english would be disappointed. The room was a little tired and the smallest double I'd ever seen, so small I literally broke the window when I put the key in the door. The bed was comfortable and the shower was awkward for a tall man but hot. It had so much pressure I could have attached a hose and pressure-washed the patio with it. Here's a tip for them - put some hooks up somewhere - everything went on the floor.
No real complaints, you did look after my luggage when we went sightseeing so thanks for that.
Oh and this being Britain, the bar closes at 10pm when it's way past everyones bedtime - so the £150 we spent on drinks and bar snacks went into the Hotel round the corner.

This hotel is located conveniently just a few streets away from Oxford Street.
Stayed for one night lovely plight staff, crisp clean bed linen and towels. Breakfast choice was excellent
S. M.
This is a lovely hotel with lovely friendly staff
The breakfast is amazing
The only reason I gave 4* and not 5* is because our bed was a bit hard and felt like it needed a topper or something! But we will definitely be booking again!
S. L.
Slept really well, good location, nice breakfast. Took over an hour to get extra tea and milk and 3 requests to reception.... otherwise some lovely staff and good service.

Spent our 10 day quarantine here, was initially a bit worried after seeing so many negative reviews. However, things were not bad at all. Our room was decent, clean and had a nice bathroom.
The food was alright, could have been better on some days. You are able to order food deliveries to the hotel if you want.
The staff were friendly, there were a few communication issues at times but nothing big. The one downside is that I feel the room could have benefitted from an A/C as it got hot on some nights.
Overall, a pleasant stay.

The purpose of my rating and review is to objectively assess and evaluate the quarantine package with respect to the hotel management only, as transport and security services are provided externally by the UK Government (for those interested I shall briefly address those aspects occasionally in this review).
1. On arrival after a intensely long journey from the airport on a Government arranged shuttle bus, the check in process, registration and menu selection was rather seamless and straightforward, with security assisting with escorting me to my room with the luggage.
2. The room provided was in accordance with the minimum requirements outlined by the UK Government guidance - it consisted of a double bed, en-suite bathroom facilities, tea & coffee making facilities, cupboards and drawers. Given that my room was not air-conditioned, there were windows with partial opening capacity, along with a room heater (redundant in my case thanks to the pleasant weather). Thankfully, the room was quite clean and tidy on arrival.
3. Food has been primary concern even prior to arrival, and I pre-conditioned myself to set the expectations incredibly low which explains why my experience with food wasn't miserable. As an Indian vegetarian, there were sufficient options to choose from and the quality of taste was generally quite bearable and mild (in rare occasions where it was inedible, I would resort to ready-to-cook MTR food packets). Timing was mostly regular, barring the check-out when they refused to provide breakfast and lunch.
4. Staff and management were definitely polite and eventually attended to all requests including laundry (though after multiple reminders, which I'm willing to accept given the constraints associated with attending the sheer volume of guests). I was allowed 15 minutes of walk in a mini garden under the supervision of security (again not under hotel management).
5. Thankfully, the testing was seamless too as the the kits were provided on time with the required formalities and explanations. Moreover, I received my result well within 24 hours.
In conclusion, even though the quality of hotel quarantine seems lacklustre for the astronomical rate of £2285, however, to be fair the hotel staff does deserve credit for politeness in endeavouring to accommodate our requirements despite certain logistical constraints beyond their control.
A. K.
Clean room. Breakfast was included. Plenty to eat at breakfast. Polite staff at reception, at breakfast reception. First experience where I was allowed to check out late and they waived off the extra charge. I'm coming here again!
R. C.
Good value for the money, room is not too small and well furnished. There's a bar and a full restaurant. Breakfast could probably be better, as does the room sound proofing.
E. E.
Stayed here before but must be about 10 years ago. Didn't realise they had only been open only 4 days before my stay after a big re-furb, but everywhere was fresh and clean. Nice room, comfy bed, good bathroom. Good breakfast. But the best thing has been the staff. Every one of them, from check in, morning breakfast staff to bar staff were friendly, helpful, polite friendly and professional. I will stay here again. Great location, 2 mins from Russell Square tube.
D. A.
What an amazing night. The cast were hilarious and the food was great! Would highly recommend and would definitely go back and do this again

I have family that stays at the president hotel when visiting London the last 6 years in a row aside 2020. They are elderly and love staying at the hotel. The rooms are clean, friendly staff and the bar used to have live jazz pre covid 19 lockdowns which you could walk in, sit down, enjoy a drink from the bar and enjoy the music.
O.
Very pleasant staff and welcoming friendly. Only stayed the one night which was quiet comfy bed. Great breakfast and coffee 👌
k. s.
I am staying here right now for the quarantine. I was kinda worried at first after reading all the reviews, but they have already improved.
The food is so gooood in my opinion, and the staff always ask do I want more water when they deliver the food. The room is quite clean, no complain.
FYI: they will let you choose your meal from the menu for the entire 10 days when you check-in. I love veggie, so mostly I chose veggie and vegan menu, but they have pasta, pizza, indian food, and beef menu as well.
B. W.
We went to an event here for lunch. The staff were pleasant and helpful.Drink prices at the bar weren't bad for a London hotel .Food was OK.
D. S.
Very modern reception and dining area. Very professional and friendly staff. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and tidy. 5*****
k. S.
Great hotel and location would definitely stay here again the staff was super friendly and very helpful... wish the bar would stay open later tho...

I was in quarantine for 10 days in this hotel. Before coming to the hotel, I thought it might be tough for me and special conscious about food. But there service and food are really excellent. I must say “Big Thanks” to the team. Appreciate
R.
Nice grand looking Hotel , service from staff excellent, nice breakfast .Rooms a bit dated and need an update but a good reasonably priced hotel in central London.
m. i.
President hotel was allotted for our quarantine stay.We were very worried reading their reviews. But after staying for 10days we found the hotel is quiet good. When we needed something ,we just called the reception & they had provided us everything.
The foods taste was ok, quantity was huge.. tea, coffee unlimited, just you have to make yourself… we got food timely..
room is lil bit congested but arrangement is good, washroom is ok....there is a smart tv but you can't connect with net....their is not much channel that you can enjoy...wifi speed was lil bit slow..smoking not allowed
as it is a quarantine hotel, they have to follow the security rules provided by the government & their are securities everywhere to ensure that none can get out of the room.. if anyone break the rules ,the security may behave rough but its a part of their job..
you can get out of your room for smoking or walking 2/3times with security permission ..
the hotel staffs were cordial
P. P.
Went for a comedy show and had a blast. The waiters were the actors.
Food was ok for vegetarians
B. L.
To one and All from the Managers, staff and security members we salute you for the amazing service during our quarantine at your hotel. Not only were you so polite and helpful but ever so efficient. The food was of exceptional quality and nicely presented. We would like to say a very big thank you to you all. Our first encounter in the UK has been truly outstanding.
s. b.
The rooms are immaculately clean. But I did think that the breakfast service has gone down.
S. H.
Went here for the faulty towers experience it was absolutely brilliant, The staff here were very helpful, I would definitely look to doing it again and staying here
B. H.
We have stayed at this hotel several times , during non COVD times, and have had no problems. Good location and excellent value. Efficient, friendly staff. Good food
Probably the current staff have been hastily recruited.
The recent reviews are by people who don't want to be there, and would probably find fault with any hotel they had been forced to stay in, instead of going home.
Perhaps some, not all, should have given more thought about going abroad.
M. R.
Ok hotel with decent service. Could complain about the atrocious £1750 price per person for quarantine but that's more of a government issue. Single bed rooms (for two people) with very clean facilities but food menus are lackluster, while the quantity is plenty the quality is just acceptable. For a Central London Hotel it just meets the acceptable standard of any normal hotel. Whether or not you visit is up to you. For me this was just a neat place to stay after returning from a red listed country but only after sacrificing nearly 2 grand. Victory but at what cost?
w. s.
Me and my husband are in quarantine in this hotel...Our experience is incredible. It is just amazing hotel with mind blowing food ....The staff are really really amazing. All the equipments and services are great .I am glad that we got this hotel for our quarantine
S. H.
Rooms are smal but that's London. Clean, helpful staff and good breakfast all at a decent price.
A. J.
Neil was friendly, considerate and polite. I appreciate his service a lot. Thanks Neil
B. G.
Nice hotel. Great service. Super value for the price and location.
R. N.
In the very heart of London, you would reach your wished points in a reasonable amount of time. The reception is very polite and flexible, and the British breakfast makes your day. I suggest the hotel for business trips as well as sightseeing for singles and/or couples without children.
K. O.
I like the President Hotel. This is my third stay over 6 or 7 years. I would go again, no doubt...
B. J. N.
Easy to find. I drop off some items for my friend staying here .My friend find that the food has improved because of the recent feedbacks on their food service.
Cleanliness is subpar .
Otherwise, the Security team is very well.mannered and accomodating.
We'll get to 5 stars =)
I. S.
In spite of covid restrictions staff in this hotel were wonderful during our 6 night stay. They were so kind and nothing was too much trouble - ever. Lovely hotel, rooms and great location. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Our thanks and best wishes to every member of staff from porters to managers. We are very grateful, you all went above and beyond your role. Thank you. Brian Higgins and Isabel Stewart

Great location tidy rooms, great food, car park local, but you have to pay for it. Very helpful and friendly staff.
D. B.
Great location, very clean and a lovely breakfast.

Location is perfect for central London. Cleanliness was outstanding, all the public areas as well as the room were spotless. Bedlinens were very nice. Breakfast was good, nice range of food. …

While we read reviews about this hotel,we were worried to stay in this hotel. But as we finished our 10 days quarantine in this hotel, we found very good service, we got whatever we requested, overall the room and toilet was clean. Food quality was not best but we did not expect more than this as it is not a restaurant.£1750 a lot to digest☹️☹️☹️☹️ Govt should revise this.
H. W.
The president hotel was nice the bit of time we were there the staff when we checked in were friendly. The room was nice and clean, the bed was comfy and as we were at the front of the hotel it wasn't to noisy. The next morning we went down for breakfast and it was very nice. I do think that the car parking should be free to hotel guests when we left the car park the amount was nearly 20.00 quid which I think is a rip off.
H.
Hotel was in great position. We walked everywhere so was a good central point to get around the city. 20mins walk from King's Cross. Rooms spacious and clean.
Beds could do with updating. Breakfast was nice and choice of cereals, hot food, …
P. W.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room was comfortable with good views. Breakfast was buffet style but kept fresh by attentive staff. Like the Beatles themed lifts and photographs adorning the walls, nice touch and reminder when they stayed here. Great transportation opportunities around the area either by underground tubes or buses both very close and reliable.
S. D.
We stayed here just after Christmas until 3rd Jan 2020. Not sure if it was just busy over this period but we had to queue for breakfast every morning to be seated which I have not ever experienced in a hotel before. It was atleast a 10-15 min wait. We also had to carry quite a big red room card to breakfast every morning which was also strange. The hotel is quite old and could do with an update, new carpets, paint, cutlery etc. The rooms still have carpets and no plug points next to the bed. Bathroom is clean but very small. Staff were friendly. We were charged to store our luggage there after check out which I also found strange considering we stayed there for 7 nights. It was not a bad stay but I would probably not be back.
S. G.
Lovely location - close to 2 tube stations and a beautiful park, as well as walking distance to many sites. Breakfast is nice, fresh orange juice and coffee, and a spacious bright dining room. The room was clean, with a good view and quiet, and cleaning staff were courteous and thorough. We needed an extra cot for a third person which was already in our room and prepared with bedding for our arrival - they also left extra toiletries and towels too. Will definitely be back.
A. K.
The rooms seem quite standard, nothing amazing but if you get a deal then the facilities seem to be worthy. I don't know what this hotel really is but as someone who travels a lot, I could only find it relative to three star experiences. It's a very worth three stars but is not in the realm of four. There is sometimes live entertainment and there are two bars to choose from. I don't think you need to be a guest to go to the bars. The interior is quite dated and dimly lit.
D. S.
Quite nice. Some bits needed updating but our rooms were nice. A good tip is to get a twin room and then push the beds together so much more space. We could only get a double and a twin room but worked out well. Location wise not to bad but our usual hotel is better located so that's why I'm giving this a 4 star review.
V. A.
This is my third time in the President hotel.
As usual everything was excellent. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast. Of course it's all about the location - tube, buses and train stations are very close.
I wish that until my next visit the carpets in the rooms and towels will be cleaner.
Overall very good value for money. Recommended.
I. H.
I stayed 4 nights and all was more or less well. The rooms on the 7th floor are a bit older but well kept and rather clean, with the exception of the carpet that really needs some more care. Do not order breakfast, it's underwhelming.
E.
The location was great and the room was well presented and clean.
The mattress was in need of replacement, it was very hard and the springs were pushing up. …

Good for a short trip. Cleaning staff walked into our room at 9am without knocking. Would be good if they just knocked to announce themselves. Especially as it was well before check out time. Otherwise a lovely stay. Very comfortable.
L. L.
Lovely clean hotel. Very polite and helpful staff. Late booking as family member had urgent surgery at Uclh so perfect location too. Hot power showers and bath. The rooms are a bit small but lovely
clean beds and rooms serviced every day.
Atrium restaurant very nice casual welcoming and relaxed. All ages and all nations.. Very
J. S.
Lovely building and nice friendly staff. Well priced bar too! Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Only downside is that the rooms need aircon. I hardly slept as it was so hot. And the brown sauce needs sorting- come on... splash out on some HP
Μ. Β.
Indeed the hotel is a three star hotel. The lobby is such a nice place as well as the rooms. In the rooms they don't have a fridge . The breakfast is really basic and consists of very little things. The staff are really friendly. Security is not provided because they don't have a security guard. They provide information about specific places in London though. If you want something really basic I would recommend staying at this hotel otherwise don't. I also believe that the hotel is not really worth the price. apart from the lobby and maybe the coffee area the other places are of no interest. Really good location close to the underground. Clean rooms. Bathroom somehow weird
a. f.
Good location just 2 mins walk from tube station.
Rooms have what you need. Only problem was need a plug socket next to bed. Staff friendly, good service. Clean and tidy. Good buffet breakfast with lots of choice and nice strong coffee.
Duvets a bit thin so if your likely to get cold take pj's.
A. K.
The staff were so helpful and kind. The hotel is in a great area of London with a bus stop and subway only 2 minute walk away. The food was simple but very tasty and available until late. The room was very reasonably priced for the area and we had an amazing view onto Russell Square. The porters were incredibly helpful and had a great knowledge of the surrounding areas, helping us book tours and giving directions that were easy to follow. Would 100% recommend this hotel if you're looking for a relaxing stay in London.
S. M.
Loved this Hotel. Rooms and hotel were immaculate. Breakfast was great. Staff all lovely and nothing too much trouble.
Also, situated very central, great position. Cant wait to visit again.
D.
The location was perfect, near the Russel Square underground station - from which you could reach any part of London.
The breakfast was quite delicious, and the service at the dining room was …

I spent 10 days at the hotel, left for Scotland for a week and then came back for 2 more nights. Staff overall friendly and willing to help the guest out. Continental breakfast is served daily from 7 to 10ish if my memory serves me right, which is decent enough to get you through the rest of the morning. Rooms are clean, luminous and the bathroom is quite spacious. I'd definitely come back. Congrats!
G. W.
Nice, generally clean hotel perfect to get a taxi to The Queens Theatre, (now known as The Sondheim). The room wasn't bad except the bath was tiny and the cleaner hadn't hoovered up some tiny pieces of broken glass from the last person who stayed which I cut my foot on. The bar area was quite nice and staff friendly enough, until my friend and I decided to go for a late night walk and the door man's face tripped him up a bit. Maybe he was ready for a nap and we put paid to that? I don't know but he'd been fine earlier. The taxi driver we got to the theatre was very friendly and got us there in good time for the show. Its not too far from the theatre, just a short taxi ride away which I think is why most people book here, it being so handy.
L. D.
Decent hotel but not really something I would recommend. When checking in we got a room that was already occupied... we got another room that was ok but not really great. Long, very narrow corridors that gives a very dated appearance. The nasty English wall to wall carpets provides a damp smell all over the place. Cleaning was so and so but most likely as good as could be expected provided the dayed appearance. We will chose another hotel the next time
M. C.
I got this room at a terrific rate, 40+% off after my company discount, so expectations weren't high. For that price, I'm very satisfied, and thrilled with the location near Russell Square tube-station and the British Museum. Staff tried to be helpful, but there was a confusing, Eastern European, 70s era way they did things that was always a little off.
My biggest issue was something easy for them to resolve. The maid service treats the hallways like a trash dump. There are always lots of piles of other peoples' dirty laundry strewn along the floors. G R O S S!
The room was good, with a nice new bathroom, not the typical European cramped quarters. TV was tiny, maybe 15", it's light turned on but no display.
Again, I am happy with what I got for such a terrific rate, but those paying full price might not be as pleased.
C. L. (. F.
A tourist hotel for sure and that's what we paid for.
The staff was very helpful and friendly and more then lived up to my expectations.
The room we got was small, bed even smaller (a bed for two bit we just barely fit). The room got quite warm as it was impossible to open the windows and taking a shower left the entire room feeling moist.
J.
Friendly and efficient reception staff. Great location. Near enough to Euston, but close to major attractions.
Breakfast was ok, but tea and coffee always appeared stewed. The bread for toast …
a. j.
Not bad for the price considering the location. Good hearty breakfast but better places to eat in the evening. It was very warm when we visited and with no air conditioning it made for an uncomfortable first night but we found out from another guest that you can have a fan for a returnable deposit of £10. ( the hotel don't tell you this for some reason). It's a great affordable base for exploring London but if you don't mind paying more there are far better hotels in the same area.
B. B.
Lovely hotel in a fantastic location. Clean rooms, beautiful views of Russell Square. Our room was spacious considering similar accomodations in London. We paid £5 supplement to get English breakfast (ours was continental) and it was worth it and cheaper than booking a room with an English breakfast directly. When we come back to London we will stay here again - the value for the money is unbeatable.
S. D.
Just back from a 3 day stay at the president hotel London. Good location very easy check in by helpful polite staff. Nice rooms and friendly helpful porters. Unfortunately the same cannot be
said about the restaurant staff. Miserable unhelpful staff. Very poor starters good carvery main course but a dessert trolley with very little to offer. When we asked if there was anything else were told no it’s all gone.however when we left the restaurant 15 minutes later there was a full trolley of food and when we questioned about this he laughed and said we just found some. Breakfast food ok but again miserable unhelpful staff. They need customer care training.
L. A.
The staff was absolutely attentive and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with great options and our room was clean and spacious. We will definitely be coming back. It was a wonderful experience.
I.
Great location near Russel sq tube. Walking distance to British Museum, Tottenham court rd and station. I was on 7th floor so quiet. Room and Bathroom clean. Check in staff were great, housekeeping Polite. …
M. D.
Absolutely loved this place, great lounge with decent cocktails and a good range of beers and wines. Hotel room was clean and tidy, walls a tad thin. Nice reception staff, very helpful.
K. W.
Surely the best value meal around if you want quantity. The carvery dinner offers three courses and coffee for £22 and there is no service charge of 12.5 per cent. The buffet starter was generous and the carvery meal was huge. Atmosphere was minimal with strong lights and elderly staff. But if you are looking for a big feed of typical English food it takes some beating.
G. K.
Well the crittal windows were not brilliant at keeping out the noise of the very large air conditioning unit outside the window. Bathroom clean and modern but there seemed to be some sort of bugs on the pillow in the morning which was worrying. Saving grace was the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff
m. w.
The hotel has an odd choice of fabrics and decor in the rooms but they are immaculate and comfortable, the bed could/should be better but it was passable. The shared spaces, bars, restaurants, location, price and the staff are great - I will return!
m. m.
Rooms ok but a little windy , it's a big gap under the entrance door & it is realy windy as long as is cold outside. That's a big minus. Breakfast good but repetitive. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, real pro, big plus. Great location.
K. M.
Nice hotel , I have been there 3 times or even more
J. W.
Very nice British hotel in London. WiFi and (British) breakfast ok, rooms were clean. The staff that I interacted with were all without exception very friendly and helpful.
The lack of a fifth star expresses my disappointment with the rooms. They were very small. Clean, but small, a lot smaller than I was expecting based on the website pictures.
Would come again though.
Y. F.
The location of this hotel is every thing!!! Minute away from Russell Square Station, 10 minutes walking from Oxford Street. This is why we picked this hotel. This is my second time in this hotel. Every thing was fine except the smell of the food in the morning. The room was heated and we opened the window and it was to much smelly.. We took the continental breakfast, and it was more than enough, coffee, toasted bread with jam and butter. The stuff was great and very helpful. Book this one, you won't regret it
D. D.
The Imperial Hotel group has several hotels in Bloomsbury and they all provide great value for money. I normally stay at the Bedford, bit they were out of single rooms so I booked here (for the second time).
Recently refurbished room which all works well and is spacious, staff are always polite, the bar here quite a pleasant place to spend an hour or two.
A lot of the hotel feels a bit dated, which doesn't worry me really.
Last time I stayed I was on the top floor and it was pretty quiet, on the 3rd floor at the back today and there is a really loud noise outside which I presume is the kitchen extractors, I was ok as I am a bit deaf, would worry me more if my wife and kids were with me.
Great value for this part of London (breakfast thrown in) but they need to get that noise under control.
A. L.
Have been here a few times in the last 3 years. Good central location, and the hotel & staff are very nice. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast is buffet, so you can choose what you like.

Nice hotel. Pleasant rooms. Good service and food in restaurant. Very good casual seating and eating bar area , sometimes has pianist. Only lost a star as road at front makes some rooms a bit noisy especially if emergency vehicles are passing.

We went with an open mind and were very happy with our stay. Asked for a refurbished room and that was what we got. Clean, nicely co-ordinated, plenty of hot water with friendly staff. Our room faced on to Russell Square it was quiet and we had a good nights sleep . On the deal we had evening meal was included on the first night ,which was very good. Even if we had had to pay would have been happy to have paid more and it couldn't be faulted . I think for what this hotel charges it represents good value for money. If you are wanting luxury you have to pay luxury prices so the choice is yours. Would certainly stay again. Tip -ideal for the No 91 one bus to get to Westminster area. They store luggage should you need to at a very nominal rate. Please give our regards to the Portuguese gentleman who carved the most delicious joint of lamb for us and hopes he enjoys his forthcoming holiday. The meat was cooked to perfection and being sheep farmers in the very best part of North Yorkshire we know how good lamb should taste.

Great hotel, 15 mins walk to London centre, with loads of buses up and down. 20 mins walk from Kings cross and Euston. Breakfast was great, room's clean and well presented. No safe in room☹️. Staff very friendly and lovely bar area to relax in with normal pub prices. Definitely go there again.

Amazing evening out, highly recommended
T. S. B.
Ideally situated hotel with great service personnel and a substantial breakfast. 10 min walk from Euston .The Russell Square underground provides easy access to theatre land, whilst the British Museum is no more than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. I would recommend the hotel as a base for anyone spending 2 or 3 days in London.

I stayed for 6 nights at the president hotel over the New Years period. It wasn’t bad but also wasn’t good. So just average suits. The lobby is quite nice so feels good walking in but you can tell from the exterior that it’s an older building. The check in experience was fine I arrived early and was able to get my room straight away. As I was on the 7th floor (single room) and the elevator doesn’t work to the 7th floor you have to go to the 6th and walk up a flight of stairs. A porter carried my bag up for me but if you have accessibility issues definitely check your room access before hand as there are surprise stairs within the level (up to 5). The worst part is the creaky floor in the corridor you hear EVERYONE coming and going as it makes so much noise and I couldn’t find a spot to walk that was quiet.
The room itself was clean and very warm. No air con but had a heater which for winter was great. The bed I found to be comfortable. The room is noisy with the window open but fine otherwise unless there’s an emergency vehicle going past as there’s a nearby hospital this does happen. The free WiFi worked well for me from my room. I had to reconnect from my room to breakfast but that was very easy.
The toiletries provided are only a body wash and a combined bottle of shampoo and conditioner. I did ask if they had any others eg body lotion but they said no just those. So do not rely on the hotel supplying sufficient toiletries for your stay.
The breakfast is average. I went early 7-7:30 every morning and no lines and the food was hot. The food was always the same and nothing special. It was included but there are decent enough cafes around to get breakfast elsewhere.
The location is the reason I picked this hotel and for that is the only honest good point I can give this place. There is the Russell Square tube about 3 minutes away. Busses close by too. So I’m very happy with the location.
Lately for some strange reason the hotel is very French. At check in and check out the receptionists were all French and the porters and breakfast many of them are too. Nothing wrong with this but just unexpected when I’m in London. Service was again just average.
Maybe there’s something better for a similar price around I probably wouldn’t stay here again but it wasn’t bad.
P. K.
Very nice located, just about 200 meters from the underground. Very friendly and professional staff but they surely need a good renovation. Rooms are very clean but a bit small. A good choice to stay and explore London.
T. J.
Excellent value for money budget hotel just 2/3 minutes from Russell Square underground station. Clean and tidy with comfortable beds. A very local London pub just outside the front entrance. Very welcoming efficient staff and the buffet breakfast is very good.
Highly recommended
M. M.
Just checked out. Very clean and welcoming hotel. The rooms are a bit dated but perfectly clean and functional. The dining room staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly as wete the housekeeping staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a base for exploring London as it is very central.
P. M.
Staff were spot on, helpful courteous. Room basic but perfectly adequate and clean. Breakfast was buffet style, plentiful and hot. Nothing to complain about at all. Will go back certainly
J. “. B.
Booked through a 3rd party website. Got to the hotel and the hotel manager never saw the email so never reserved our room. Thank goodness they had more rooms, first they gave us a room 420 that literally smelled like an armpit. We asked to be moved and went to 352. The room is alright. The bathroom toilet placement to the sink is odd. The hallways look really old compared to the rest of the hotel. Did they forget to remodel this part orrrr?
S. P.
Nice room butĺ would prefer a shower thats not in a bathtub. Friendly staff. Breakfast juice ran out half hour b4 end of service. Not keen on eating yogurt and/or fruit from a bowl everybody has touched.
K. S.
The rooms were clean but also small which I understand is quite typical of London. The service was good but I unfortunately had a single room on the 7th floor (which I assume is the older part of the building) where the floors were impossibly creaky and the corridors quite narrow. The lift to go up to the 7th floor was also very small and slow. The continental breakfast was also lacking (no fresh fruit or eggs). But all in all a decent budget hotel in the centre of London.
D. R.
Room ,staff brilliant. Breakfast needs a lot of work was treated like cattle getting fed on a farm was there three nights never had breakfast again we went out for breakfast, tea and coffee would have been ok if i had been building a road in my stomach.
W. J.
First visit to this hotel and overall a very good experience. Friendly staff, clean comfortable room and good shower. Breakfast was excellent except for one thing - the tea. It was very weak and tasteless as other reviews mentioned. If I stay there again I will take my own tea bags.
S. G.
I am a big fan of this Hotel. Mainly due to great location and being just hundred meters from Russel Square tube station. In a addition it is in walking distance from Covent Garden. The rooms are fine for the value.
Been there already 3-4 times, and will come back again for sure
S. K.
Rooms are small but clean. Breakfast is hearty with eggs scrambled, hard boiled or over hard. Sausage, hot and cold ham, potatoes, tomatoes, beans, cereal, fresh oj. Location convenient to Russel square and British museum.
Y. A.
No real negatives about this hotel, but I gave it 3 and not 4 is because of the rude staff working the morning breakfast buffets and the hotels failure to inform guests that there is an extra fee if you want the hot breakfast buffet, which they make it seem like the breakfast buffet is included with your stay. It’s only while you’re getting breakfast that a rude worker verbally attacks you and demands immediate payment before you take more food. Other than that, it’s your typical 3/4 star hotel with clean rooms and lobby. Large waiting area and hotel bar.
A. T.
The decor in the communal areas is a little old, but the rooms are renovated and the service is top notch. Elevators are fast, staff are friendly, location is a block away from the tube, 15 min walk to king's cross. Great place to stay.
J. W.
I love staying at President Hotel because of it's centrality and accessibility to most parts of central London. It has a great ambience, a friendly lounge and helpful staff. The rooms are great, well maintained and clean and English breakfast quite inviting.
H. L.
Good value per money. Very clean. Excellent location. Basic breakfast but generous. Ask for a room with views of the park. The bathroom is a little old fashioned ..
J. H.
Positives: Very helpful and friendly staff; comfortable beds; abundant hot water/powerful shower; attractive reception/front of house area
Negatives: Extremely noisy aircon unit (?) at the rear of the hotel, kept me awake through most of the night (I counted the hours). Hotel needs to invest at least in double-glazed windows, to replace metal-framed single-glazed ones which are difficult to close properly.
Evening meal was 'adequate', breakfast disappointing. Both had clearly been kept warm for a fairly long period of time. Little variety for breakfast (no yogurts, cereals, etc, and I didn't see juice either).
Pre-packed hospitality tray in room very basic - if you don't drink coffee and don't like bog-standard tea your luck is out.
A. G.
Lovely place to stay! Beds were comfy, rooms were clean and spacious and the food was delicious! Only complaint was the maids started the rounds at 8am including knocking on our door/entering the room while we were still in bed
S.
Very good location, only 10 minutes walk from Kings Cross and barely two minutes from Russell Square Tube. Within walking distance of Leicester Square and Theatres. Ideal location nearby public houses and restaurants. …
D. S.
Try to make sure you don't get a room that faces the road. Single glazed windows and London late night traffic do not make for a pleasant night's sleep. We were moved for our remaining night without any issue which was welcome. Everything is a little tired but the price reflects this. Front desk staff were nice.
L. H.
I have stayed at The President 4 times over the past couple of years, and will be back again next week. I had stayed at other hotels in the area in the past but the President always feels like a home from home. It's walking distance from King's Cross, and is so handy for The British Museum, and the underground, with lots of lovely parks at hand if the weather is good. The buffet breakfasts are always substantial, and contain lots of choices. I often have a carvery in the evening too, and the staff have always been faultless.
K. S.
Would rate it as an average hotel. Not a start hotel by any standards. Moreso because London is expensive that's why tariffs can be high. Rooms are small and toilets ok. Location is the best thing about this location with a metro station just around the corner you can explore London to the maximum. Food is ok so is breakfast.
L. W.
Good hotel. The breakfast is a bit boring and can use an upgrade with a slice of cheese or peanut butter or something similar (or opt for the traditional English breakfast). As an alternative there is a coffee shop on the corner where they have tasty sandwiches, croissants and good coffee.
h. m.
Lovely clean and pleasant atmosphere. Staff are so friendly and helpful and always a smile . Rooms are very comfortable with a great selection of TV. Dinners are very tasty but limited to carvery every day .close to all bus stops and kings cross station thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
A. B.
Really good location near the russel tube. British museum is close by and its not too far to walk to the main sights. You see more than using the tube.
Hotel is clean breakfast is really good. Feed your self up for the day.
j. c.
Thanks to the amazing staff for taking care of me the whole time of my stay!
These guys went above and beyond to assist in anything I needed my entire team. Even leaving extra chocs on my pillow when I left a note asking for them.
Awesome breakfast every day and the hotel is in a great location.
Near Leicester Square, Holborn, King's Cross and a reasonably decent (and straight-forward) walk to places like Oxford Circus and Camden Town if you're inclined to stretch your legs like I am.
I'll be back again, that's for sure!
D. S.
Located in nice area of London. Room for two was reasonably large but awkwardly arranged. Plumbing could use an upgrade but everything worked, just not to North American standards. Helpful and friendly staff. Continental breakfast was lame - toast jam fruit juice and cereal - but the full British breakfast buffet was very nice. Being refurbished in October 2016.
W. (.
Well placed, clean and comfortable hotel, currently being renovated, so a small amount of disruption. Friendly and helpful staff. Good self service breakfast. Close to British museum, great Ormand street hospital and with several traditional pubs in short walking distance.
A. S.
Nice and clean room with a lovely bathtub. Good breakfast and dinner. If you want a better (warm) breakfast you can upgrade it for £ 5 pound each. Absolutely friendly staff. Also the 3 cours meals are available for 16 pounds. We ate here two times.
C. O.
Room and reception staff excellent. Breakfast staff not good in particular the young man in charge. Food not kept topprd up. Tables not cleared. Staff not helpful. Where have all the old staff gone? They were dame ones for years and always efficient. Needs looking into
C. T.
This is a nice budget hotel. The single room I was in had a double bed and was small but perfectly fine for my purposes. Good, efficient breakfast service. I'd recommend to conference delegates etc.
C. R.
Great location, just minutes away from the underground station. Plenty of bars around and not overly loud when in your room. Very clean, our room had just been decorated. Breakfast was ok, toast was already done and wasnt crispy. Main meal, well that wasn't very good, meat very fatty and grizzly. Staff very helpful.
S. M.
The hotel was expansive compared to what we received. The rooms were OK, clean and quiet. The staff is also very polite and service minded. However the air condition system did not filter out smell from the kitchen. It was OK that the hotel was old fashioned, but I would have put som minor effort in purchsing new furnitures in the reception area. The breakfast was disappointing for this price. Even in the largest cities of Norway you get luxuary breakfast for this hotel price. But here I get the worst breakfast I ever have seen on any hotel. I had even to pay 5 pounds extra for English breakfast. The english breakfast was also of a low class. However the waitors were very friendly, but for me I wold have preferrred that the staff gave priority to make better meals instead of serving me coffee and tell me where to get seated.
B. G.
We came down 16-20th of april for our 37th anniversary. The room was clean & tidy & in quiet position. The breakfast was basic but well cooked and presented & the staff were helpful & friendly. The atrium is a quiet place to have a drink or for a pub atmosphere the night &day bar is great & the food is high quality. Wouldn't hesitate to book again .
P. G.
A good budget hotel with breakfast included, and a reasonable price. A bit dated in places but the rooms are modern and clean if a bit small, as most London hotel rooms are. If you can get a room for a good price then go for it but don't expect the Ritz
L. V.
Location is very good and staff is extremely nice. The rooms are average, though. The breakfast is every single day the same and they do not have anything rather than cereals for "continental breakfast". The worst breakfast I have ever seen in a hotel.
S. W.
Great hotel really lovely staff. Room was big and always clean. Breakfast staff were lovely with our 1 year old
Only problems were we needed a small fridge for his milk but they wouldn't put one in. Plus it says free WiFi but it's not in the rooms only the bar
E. S.
For a London hotel it's reasonably priced, room's are clean with tea and coffee making facilities there is also a TV, the breakfast is excellent there is a full English, a continental breakfast, toast and jam, different meats and cheeses, fruit juices, and cereal everything you you could think of really. It's a short walk from the Brunswick centre.
W. G.
Fantastic location, 30 second walk to the Piccadilly line at Russel Square underground. The rooms are clean and tidy and not too small, corridors etc. aren't amazing but that's minor. Service was friendly and very helpful, I'd definitely stay here again.
I. Y.
It is what you pay for. The hotel is in an awesome location, right next to the tube station, the British Museum and Russell Square, and those are all its attributes.
The hotel itself is very old and quite shabby, the room is basic and utilitarian, it is quite clean though.
The bed has to be the worst I've ever slept on, and Im including sleeping on the ground while camping, it really was atrocious.
The breakfast is continental, so drinks, toast and some iffi cheese.
Basically its OK if you come with low expectations and only want a convenient location to explore London from, plz don't expect a good night sleep.
G. T.
Great little hotel, staff are friendly and helpful. My room was nice but as it was the hottest week of the year I had to have my windows open and at the back of the hotel it can bit a bit noisy...especially when the glass bins are emptied at 3am 🤪
B. B.
I greatly appreciated being able to check in around 11 am on the day I arrived. This is the reason the hotel gets five stars. Thank you for doing this - please continue. The hotel is in a great location and the rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable. I would stay here again and will recommend it to others.
G. K.
Modern, clean, low-priced hotel in the centre of London. Nothing special, but for the price in London what can you expect? It would have been more stars but the breakfast was underwhelming and get down to breakfast early or you'll be queuing across the foyer waiting for a table.
C. A.
I really enjoyed my stay. Rooms were very clean. Staff were very helpful and polite. Breakfast was good and the carvery smelled delicious although I didn’t participate.
T. R.
Excellent hotel. Location is great. Meals are fab and good value for money - £20 for three courses - great. Staff can't do enough for you. Will definitely be back
V. A.
Visited this hotel as part of a superbreak rail and hotel package so got it at a low price. Really great location in walking distance of kings cross (10 minutes approx), room was clean and tidy. Staff were pleasant, no issues at all. It's not the fanciest of places so if you are travelling for something special then maybe not the best but it totally served it's purpose for me.
M. C. T.
Not a very good table service for dinner. Guests are supposed to approach cook to request for chosen meal and must take it to their table in "self-service" manner. No water is brought to dining table; instead a host of waiters offers cold buns to accompany meal.
a. a.
The hotel in general is nice, clean and the staff are friendly. It seems a little dated and the breakfast offered was fine albeit very basic. The night and day bar was terrible though.
A. G.
Really good hotel, in Russell Square, with a good quality/price ratio. It is very close to city center and touristic places on foot (you can reach the British museum at 5 min, Covent Garden at 15 min, Picadilly Circus at 20 min), and with lots of bus lines and 2 metro stations in 5 minutes (Russell Square and Holborn station). The bedrooms are clean, functional and comfy, perhaps a little small and narrow. The bathrooms are renovated and the staff is friendly. Very recommendable !!
A. L.
Staff was warm and friendly. Room was clean and tidy. Only downside was my room was facing inside the square and had no air con, so was very warm and with all the windows open noisy. Could of complained, but only slept in the room.
S. H.
I spent 6 nights here. The room was small but clean, the continental breakfast was just ok (there is a more expensive option if you want), but the location is excellent, in front of the Russell Square and pretty close to the British Museum and the Russell Underground Station.
My room was in the 7th. floor and I had to use the service elevator to get it there. The staff were very friendly and cordial.
T. T.
Well equipped, clean and modern rooms. Excellent (included) FEB for carnivores, but little choice for vegetarians. Suggest a room away from the main road if you like to sleep with open windows.
R. S.
Cheap, clean and great location.
J. A.
We stayed at this hotel the night before our trip to Lille and our Battlefields tour and the night of our return before returning home to Yorkshire. This hotel is a short walk to St Pancras and the Eurostar. The staff were very helpful, in the bar area and the restaurant. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and the carvery evening meals were great and reasonably priced for London.
s. t.
Good, adequate room. Although the location of the toilet roll holder is questionable. Very good breakfast. Ideal location for Russell and Leicester Squares.
D. B.
The hotel can be classified as an old building and the rooms leaves to be desired. The breakfast is simply English breakfast, no cheeses or ham or even a piece of a simple cake for those who cannot consume beacon eggs etc. Charging guests for each suitcase kept by concierge after leaving the room until one proceeds to the airport is not acceptable. Around the hotel there is a good supermarket and even an Italian restaurant.
S. B.
Excellent stay. Clean and comfortable ideal location for a base. Lovely breakfasts deffo use again. Fantastic price and accommodation handy for tube station. Lots of places to eat and shop local.
M. B.
Perfect location. Budget hotel., the rooms are not air conditioned but relatively big. There was a bath in the room but the fauset was terrible. You have a choice to buy continental
breakfastn or an English breakfast. it's always the same and it's get boring after a couple of days. It's right next to the British museum. 100 meters from the underground. 120 meters from a supermarket.
A. J.
The reception employee was a bit hasty with explaining the rules. At the first day i litterarly burned my feet in the baththub because the water was almost at boiling point. I couldn't close the water tap in time it was stuck. The bed is way to short and to small. The television is the smallest they could get. I missed the mushrooms at the breakfast. They are eager to sell you tickets for the hop on- hop off buss.
The postives are the friendly chambercleaners and the best base for sightseeing and nearby attractions
J. H.
Great hotel. Beautiful clean rooms.. Lovely food. Amazing service from all staff.
Ideally situated for central London.
Highly recommend.
G. D.
The lobby and lifts are not representative of the hotel, but bring some of the first things you see, they may put you off. The rooms have been renovated, as has the restaurant. Full English breakfast is £5 extra. WiFi free.
A. C.
Stayed at this hotel previously unfortunately this time we were placed with a nice view of Russell Square but above the busy main road. Room was very basic - no iron or fridge.
On a plus note the staff were very friendly and helpful
W. S.
Lovely room. Clean and comfy. Cleaned each day we were here. Staff lvly and friendly. Food good. Great location to explore. Weve walked miles!!
R. A.
I want to thank all of you guys who helped us enjoy our stay at the end of October and in to November as well as our stay last week in February 2020. Your hotel is clean, the staff are kind and it is in such a great location. Thank you all so much.
C. P.
Not a bad stay. Cleaning left a bit to be desired. Windows don't shut properly and air con unit noise all night. Also staff at back of hotel making a lot of noise at 6am
F. K.
Great area, food was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was small, but true be told we were only there to sleep. An amazing shower.
A. B.
Very central and reasonable for the price. Hard beds but a nice overall experience. Friendly staff but some confusion during the breakfast. Recommending the upgrade to the English breakfast as the standard continental one doesn't quite fill you.
E. P.
For the money this is the best hotel in London. WIFI and free buffet breakfast included for 100 pounds if you book online. Friendly staff and ATM in the lobby. A couple minutes walk away from the Russell Square underground station which will get you anywhere in London you're looking to go. Short distance walk from British Museum and some great pubs, try the Queen's Lauder for a pint of Noble and a great staff.
i. M.
A clean place with an outdated look and feel. Hôtel teammates are very nice and helpful. A real shame shower gel and shampoo are not made in the UK but in a cheap labour country. Same problem with the basic breakfast pack... These are importants details a London hôtel should not underestimate!
S. M.
Great value for money. ONly the breakfast menu does not change so u have to contend with the same food every morning. Fantastic location for visiting london. Most iconic places are either walking distance or couple of stations on the tube. Courteous staff.
b. b.
The hotel is in a good location. 1 minute from Russell Square tube. Walking distance to Oxford Street. Plenty eating places. Nice park at Russell Square. Room good size. As there is no aircon I needed to open the windows for ventilation. Unfortunately the windows barely open.
R. R.
Hotel has been in the family bussines for a while, character is Inglish. Walking distance to everywhere, that if you wish to walk. The tube station is right the small alley in front of hotel: Specially if going to and from Heathrow airport.
Two types of Buffets: Continental (free) and a full buffet. I enjoyed my stay. Really helpful staff.
F. S.
Stay here often for work. Very handy for northern train lines, kings cross, St P and Euston. Fairly central (Covent garden etc in a short walk) andhandy for tubes.
Accomodation is reasonable, rooms are a little dated but clean. Breakfast etc is very good. Staff are always helpful. I recommend asking for s quiet room as some lower rooms can suffer from traffic noise.
Price is as good as it gets in London!
A. R.
We stopped here for one night celebrating my Wife's Birthday with a trip to Shaftsbury theatre
Our room had obviously just been refurbished, very clean and comfortable.
Excellent central London location.
Don't worry about older review's, thease are from people who expect the Ritz at budget rates!!.Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
Andy & Debs Grantham.
J. R.
Spent 2 nights there on a football visit. Good accommodation and first class food. Very friendly staff. Handy for tube. Loads of bars and restaurants nearby plus British museum.
R. M.
It's located quite close to London Kings Cross so is only a cheap taxi ride away from a train into London and is close to the Russell Square underground station. The price is reasonable but you do get what you pay for. The room is small and so is the bathroom, and the food available is very basic. They offer a carvery but again, it's very basic with not much choice.
D. C.
spent 2 nights here for trip to theatre. Excellent location. 10 mins walk from Euston, 15 mins to Covent Garden. Alternatively tube station less than a minute via street opposite. Nice little pub in street opposite. Room available as soon as we arrived at 10 am! Room perfectly adequate for us everything you need, nicely decorated and spotless. beds comfortable. Evening meal and breakfast excellent. Staff really polite, professional and friendly. Wi fi bit hit and miss but who needs it we are in London! I really can't understand any negative comments and suggest next time they book into The Ritz. Will definately return.
s. t.
5 min walk from Russell Sq station, room was very nice. No fresh water in room to drink, breakfast wasn't great most the food was lukewarm at best, toast very under done and like rubber. Staff tho very friendly and helpful.
A. W.
Perfect for any traveler, very friendly staff and 2 restaurant/bar options next to the front lobby. Very close to the British Museum and close enough to walk to other great sites!
y. e.
Very nice hotel: calm area, no noise in the rooms, the bathroom are big enough and people are very kind.
But the breakfast is not very tasty and we had to pay an extra to get the English BF.
S. C.
Great experience! Rooms were small, beds were small, no water machine, ice machine. Has great breakfast and nice bar. Great location. Bathroom was small as well.
S.
Great position, easy links to underground and buses.
Room was clean and tidy and I would use again no problem.
The cooked breakfast was excellent.
Nothing
S. M.
Reasonable hotel for the price - rooms are snug but well furnished and ours was recently updated - water pressure in the shower was superb - free breakfast but line is long to get in if you go at peak time (8-9am) - service was middle-of-the-road
M. R.
Noisy room, sone kind of vent making a noise outside our window all night. Comfortable room though the toilet is a little cramp due to sink and toilet roll holder positions. Polite staff and a nice breakfast.
l. m.
Great room. Great location. Staff in general were good. Breakfast staff werent welcoming at all apart from would definately return. Loved it.
P. B.
We stayed at the Tavistock, part of the same group, but like the Carvery at the President. Free if you take the 2 night offer. The hotel is modern and fresh in the lobby and the Carvery is always good value.
A. M.
Excellent location right next to underground and very central for main attractions. Comfy clean rooms and excellent breakfast. Staff are very pleasent and helpful. Will be staying again. Thanks.
J. S.
The room was very nice, but with people from a different country working there it was difficult to communitcate. NO washcloths or flannels as they are called in England left in the room - had to ask for them on the second night. The food was AWFUL! My friend noted with the travel agent and it was on our reservation form that she needed Gluton Free, Vegetarian food and SHE DID NOT GET IT! The people at the restaurant told her she should have contacted the chef! What else should she have done? The hotel failed her. She had very little to eat and she paid for the meals. What I got was ok, but I would never dine there and pay out of my own pocket, which we actually did. The breakfast was much better than the tea. My friend couldn't get the shower to turn off the first night and neiither could I. The man came upstairs with towels and I guess we were expected to clean up the mess - I called again and someone came up and took care of all the water. Something had to have happen as neither of us could get it the water shut off. We had clean linens and the beds were comfortable. Couldn't watch TV, as it was all in French, so we couldn't keep up with the news. There is a wonderful restaurant called The Crazy Salad a short distance from the hotel and of course the workers didn't know anything about that either. POOR excuse for customer service.
G. R.
Room spotless and room serviced well. Enjoyable dinner in hotel but breakfast buffet was not particularly hot. Otherwise a good hotel and would have no problem returning.
C. R.
Stayed here for 2 nights with my mam, fantastic hotel - immaculate, twin room was lovely and clean, breakfast & evening meal lovely, staff very polite and helpful, the hotel was in a good area to local theatre's would recommend this hotel to anyone. Had a fab time
S. K.
Good location. Easy to walk/bus from this location to landmarks. Room a bit small but has everything you need. Water pressure is amazing!
Y. R.
I enjoyed my stay . The room was clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. We had full English it was very nice.
M. M.
Relatively spacious rooms. Very helpfull staff. Good vallue for money and very very convinient location. Just a few steps to a underground or bus. Tesco store is almost next door. Various restaurants are very close. If you do nit mind walking, it is 20-30mins to Leicester Square.
S. C.
I have stayed at a single room on the 7th floor. The room had the expected size. Not too big not too small. But it was very noisy. Some machine hum came from the back of the ceiling not quite sure. The mattress was not good.
H. M.
Food timings a bit issue... Rest thumbs up... All good
S. D.
Great location and the room was clean, but noisy. The English breakfast that was included was a great start to the day. The staff were all friendly and the bar was nice for a nightcap.
T. I.
The room was basic, but very clean. Nice hard bed. Very quiet, and close to shops, transport and restaurants. The hotel maid did let herself into my room though..
J. B.
Always stay at the President with my Grandson when in London
Have done EVER since he was 4 years old to the present, he is now 12. The atmosphere-staff-and particularly the re-furbishments suit us both excellently. Night and Day bar and the atrium in the evening make for the perfect stay.
N.
For quarantining, not so good. For just a hotel, it's alright
К. М.
It's cold in my room. Although they claim to be environment friendly, they replaced all my towels and I used only 2 of them only once! Coffee is too watery :(

It is walking distance from Euston station. Does a nice breakfast. Close to the underground. As a nice bar and the price is ok for London. Also pubs close to the hotel. And a Wetherspoons in walking distance. Would go back.
A. W.
My first choice for accomodation in Central London. Ideally situated in Bloomsbury, good rooms, comfy beds and friendly staff. Good full English breakfasts too and the Russell Square underground (Piccadilly line) is literally just round the corner.
E. R.
Great hotel very close to Warren Street tube station. Good size modern room and the staff were very welcoming. We would stay here again.
K. T.
Slightly more modern than the same company's Tavistock, this is still a little tired, but not bad for the price, relative to the rest of central London. The rooms are too hot at this time of year (no aircon or fans) and the shower head is static. But there's plenty of water temp and pressure. Flat TV with him ports but analogue reception of hotel channels so a bit fuzzy. Kettle, toiletries, and hair dryer in room. Breakfast is English only - not the advertised continental option. WiFi is free and okay.
A. H.
Lovely restaurant area and rooms, but access corridors to rooms looks very tired and dated.
If you do a make over its best to do it all so hopefully soon but apart from that a pleasant atmosphere.
M. S.
The room I stayed in was a very nice room with a double bed and washroom. The view from the window was just a rooftop and some more buildings. Location wise, it's just across from a rather pleasent Park and just up the road from a Pizza Hut.
J. P.
Staff at the hotel provided excellent quality and service. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Great value for money and perfect location. Would recommend to others.
B. V. E.
Okay my case was kinda strange, but ill start describing the place.
Hotel:
The hotel its very good looking and clean; cleaning staff do their job very nicely and I didnt have any problem with 'em.
Room:
The room was medium sized but has everything u need and its pretty fine in function of the money you are paying. Comfortable beds, nice and strong shower (wich is hard to find here) and all the basic things you're needing.
Location:
Just near everything in the centre.
You can reach Camden, The British museum, Picadilly and most important touristic places just while you enjoy walking and making a recon on the city.
Staff:
They are pretty good and warm, and they'll do everything for you if you need it
(I lost all my documents just going on the taxi and they did everything they could for helping me, also finding me another hotel I could afford for another night in London *pretty hard* and calling everywhere they could, thank you so much guys)
Breakfast: You can have a continental breakfast included in the price and for 5£ more a full english, maybe just missing a pair of things on the continental but its cool.
Thats all in my case, I would surely return and I do reccomend it.
Have a nice stay!
A. K.
Good location. Very friendly staff.
S. G.
Very enjoyable stay - friendly helpfulstaff - evening meal was decent. Breakfasts were superb. A little noisey at night so 4* not 5* but would happily stay again
B. J.
Hotel isn't bad, but the rooms are small and the "free" breakfast is misleading. That said, it's a good place if all you need is to spend the night by yourself without much luggage.
m. d.
It is nothing more that an okay hotel. They should put air conditioners in the rooms. While this is not a problem during the winter months as the heater is running, visiting the hotel during the summer months is a problem. Especially if you are not used to hot weather
M. L.
The rooms are outdated, however, decent in size. The tv's are quite small and the internet is terrible for video conferences or voip calls. The bar, coffee shop and service are positives.
D. B.
close to British museum short walk. Parking is available under hotel next door with entry into the hotel $19 for 24 hrs very good when so close room small size nut clean abd ok for a sleep good wi fi would come again and stay
J. R.
A great hotel that deserves more than it's current star 🌟 rating. Good staff, good quality food. Really comfortable room. Convenient for tube and shopping 🛒.
L. M.
Nice location (Russell Square), lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were spacious and clean. Hotel around the corner from Russell Square station on the Picadilly Line. Food at the hotel was nice. Would definitely stay again
M. M.
My room was clean and the breakfast was good. The negative was that our room was very warm and had no air con but all in all this is a good hotel at a fair price.
d. h.
Rooms clean but very basic, beds very uncomfortable, bathrooms clean. Breakfast very good, staff very helpful and friendly, but that doesn't help when you can't get a decent night's sleep !
A. F.
Lovely clean rooms though lacking in power sockets near the bed for device charging breakfast was very good lovely choice of hot buffet cereals and continental breakfast tea and coffee served to you at the table only disappointment was the very watered down orange juice more like very weak squash, though near a busy road and Russell square there was not a lot of outside noise even with the window open otherwise a good place to stay
a. i.
Excellent sayed here in quarantine food was Michelin star quality can not recommend enough
G. G.
Lovely clean friendly hotel. Definately stay again!! Rooms quite adequate!! Breakfast was excellent. Didnt dine but looked good.
A. H.
Perfect location for London tourist sites.
Rooms small but very clean and fresh.
Breakfast great
Wonderful friendly staff
J. D.
Rooms good clean got everything you need but and this could easily be changed need new windows as could hear a buzz from the fan outside, breakfast could have been better as not much variety but is no non sense if that's what your after.
B. D.
Excellent room and service at breakfast at 7am in the morning. Looking forward to returning next Friday for another night at this excellent hotel.
R. M.
Location great. Room was fine and breakfast was fine. Ideal for a family visiting London. 5 stars would have been achieved if breakfast was a bit better
A. M.
Have had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at the President. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room lovely and clean and meals were delicious. Would def recommend and stay there again. ☆☆☆☆☆
D. H.
Clean tidy, no real issues. Only problem was that the walls are very thin so if you have a noisy guest next door it could be a problem. We could hear snoring and I bet so could they! 😂
M. O.
Nice room and clean. Friendly staff, restaurant buffet good and breakfast was fine although it was very busy. Easy location to the theatres and tube stations.
L. L.
Good hotel, clean, nice room. The staff are friendly and helpful. This hotel is really good value, it's in a great position.
L. B.
Great hotel to stay in, good base to explore London. Clean comfortable rooms
Good selection for breakfast and nice bar area for the evening.
H. W.
Great location for the Prince Edward theatre. Breakfast was yummy. Only suggestion I would make is plug sockets by the bed. Everything else was lovely
W. M.
Lovely hotel. Really accommodating. Enjoyed the carvery and breakfast. It's also conveniently located near London Euston and other underground stations.
P. S.
Loved this place, very very clean, all the staff very helpful and friendly, carvery was beautiful, and breakfast was just as nice, would definitely stay at this hotel again, don't know why there are negative comments people just nit picking.
K. S.
Reasonably priced, centrally located and courteous staff. Clean and comfortable, just avoid their breakfast if you can. Especially the indistinguishable brew they claim was coffee.
F. S.
Stay here a lot for work. Really good value hotel for Central London. Breakfast is always good (coffee is awful) rooms are decent and clean but a little dated.
S. W.
I was in room 143, very clean, well presented, high quality staff service who were polite, the only downside was the walls were very thin and I heard everything the neighbours we're doing from sniffing, using the loo etc. Which sounded like the same room as mine, it kept me awake.
M. V.
Very central hotel with great services and affordable prices. Spacious rooms and great breakfast. Staff were always very kind as well. Highly recommended.
T. H.
Nice and clean, food was decent if not amazing, beds were very firm though. Nice that they changed the bedding and complimentary toiletries every day.
L. C.
It was clean warm and the bed linen and bathroom was totally spotless we have ould stay there again and the food was very good and staff very helpful
M. D.
Made it 3 from earlier 1 after hotel management listened to all complains. For quarantine still not suggested.
P. E.
Very easy going place to stay. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is good. Tube is a very short walk away. I would book again when staying in London.
N. B.
Stayed here as part of a Theatre break weekend.
Ideal spot, not far, within walking distance of Euston Station, on the main route to Theatreland and Covent Garden.
G. C.
Nice room, clean, bathroom could have been bigger (wardrobe was almost the same size as the bathroom!). A bit noisy in the morning from extract fans.
K. H.
Clean, but old. Good central location. Very simple breakfast included with possibility to upgrade to English breakfast for a small fee.
V. G.
Great location. Reasonable price. Ok English breakfast, if you are of fan of it. Modest room and old fashioned lobby, need refurbishment.
G. T.
Good price for London. Nice hotel. Clean rooms. Helpful staff. Though tea for breakfast tastes of coffee.
E. H.
Pretty decent and clean. Very convenient location, cozy rooms. Within walking distance from Oxford Street, underground is in 100m.
C. B. B.
Very nice rooms and very nice staff. However the rooms were very warm. We found it very easy to find and very accessible with the tube station so closee by. Would stay again.
C. N.
Not great food during stay in quarantine. Room was good.
S. L.
Simple hotel but perfect location near the British Museum and much cheaper than other hotels in the vicinity. Easy access to the tube and just a block away from Russel Square Piccadilly Line Station for a direct train to Heathrow.
A. S.
Spent 3 nights there last week lovely room friendly helpful staff and a lovely meal on first night however breakfast on the 3 days was not very hot been there on numerous occasions and always the same the breakfast is never very hot
C. M.
Faulty towers show ,absolutely brilliant 👏 👌
J. F.
Fantastic friendly and welcoming staff. Great jazz music on Friday and Saturday night. Food excellent. Superb place to stay when visiting London!!
R. H.
Great hotel, not the up market over expensive type this is a good proper hotel where u will be comfortable in well kept surroundings with excellent breakfasts and if u have a car there is a large underground car park at the hotel at a fair rate for London, hotel has a large comfortable lounge with bar and waiter service and central for London sites,Covent Garden,British Museum, Oxford Street,Theatre Land,Soho etc all easy walks, stayed there several times and shall again and even park there when visiting London.Graham
K. D.
Budget hotel that met my expectations. Very good location. A reasonable value for the price. Could use a better showerhead in the bathroom.
J.
Its a great hotel with an amazing locations and great price with breakfast included. However the front desk agent and chief concierge seem lack of enthusiasm.
E. D.
Cost effective for London. Beds in single rooms are uncomfortable and noise isolation in rooms is not good. The rest is fine
M. B.
Hotel staff is friendly. Rooms are clean and plenty large enough. Hotel is located in a good area, near attractions without being on top of them.
S. C.
Nice hotel. Well suited for Oxford Street. The Domminion Theatre and not a long walk to Leicester Square and sourounding area.
Lovley cleen room. 24 hour reception.
Great breakfast
b. d. v.
The bed was horrible I had back problems all day after just sleeping 1 day there and I'm 22 so yeah the dinner jeez don't get me started on that the meat was horrendous everything was tasteless but in the positive side the staff where friendly and the hotel infrastructure was pretty nice
J. J.
We have been using the dining facilities at the hotel for three years as an organisation on s Saturday afternoon yesterday 50 plus people. Excellent service and food
C. G.
Breakfast ok, Rooms too hot, but nothing really wrong for a one night stay
A. W.
Excellent place to stay in London, right beside Russle Park which is lovely, a 10 minute walk from St Pancres intl train station and about 15 minute walk from Covent garden and Oxford street, staff are very friendly and we had a very nice stay at an affordable price in London 👍
J. A. H.
Nice medium-quality hotel with a perfect placement at a suitable price. Bteakfast is less varied, but of ok quality.
C. “. C.
Mediocre Hotel! The rooms are on the small side, but are comfortable and reasonably clean. The buffet breakfast was disappointing.
M.
Really good central location with lovely breakfast but be prepared for breakfast to be a bit chaotic and a possible long wait to get into the dining area on busy days!
Nothing!
M. M.
We had a lovely few days at the president hotel the staff was lovely ,friendly and very helpful .Rooms were spacious and clean.breakfast was very good.easy to catch buses from there too.would definitely stay again.
D. P. S.
I stayed here for good two weeks, everything was perfect, from room services to breakfast. It was quite reasonable plus close to my office so that I can walk to work.
R. S.
It has been upgraded and modernised over the years. The carvery is very good and drinks prices reasonable for central London.
J. G.
Bed is hard, breakfast is ok. Toilet space in the hotel room is very very little. Wifi is ok. Clean it is and the personnel is nice.
T. M.
Hotel is reasonably priced for central London. Breakfast was OK. I only eat continental so can't really comment on cooked food.
R. D.
Stayed here many many times over the last 10 year's. It just gets better. Very reasonably priced, comfortable beds, nice atmosphere.
A. H.
3 start hotel, breakfast is good but only after upgrading from intercontinrntal to english. Comfy beds, but a little short for people over 6.0"
R. G.
Good clean hotel, little bit dated in places, bathroom shower for example. Good location, staff excellent
S. m.
Excellent hotel very comfortable and clean with great service and friendly staff . We were there for a weekend break two weeks ago and couldn't fault it .
J. M.
Nice clean hotel, rooms too hot , no air conditioning, also a bit noisy with banging doors in morning , staff very nice
A. W.
Just got back from 2 night stay wife and I excellant room spotless breakfast spot on good location staff friendly what more can you ask for
M. J.
Perfect location, very polite staff, decent rooms, but breakfast was not so good. 4 out of 5 fot the paid price.
P. B.
A little bit too hard beds. And why can't they serve some cheese at breakfast? Not good... Otherwise it is a good hotel.
A. T.
I very like this Hotel. perfect location 5 min from the underground. The breakfast was well and very lovely service
A. M.
Amazing hotel and fab location. Local for eating out.good little pub over the road and very close to the underground.cannot fault it.would definitely stay here again
H. D.
Well located, affordable hotel, clean comfortable and quiet rooms. A few steps from Russell Square tube station and plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.
A. C.
Walking into reception reminds me of the hotel in The Shining. A good thing. As if walking back into a time lost, of nostalgia, and of class.
Close to the British museum, British Library, Russell sq underground tube, St pancras and kings cross stations.
St pancras station for the harry potter platform or euro star to and from Europe.
P. C.
Very friendly staff clean rooms lovely service. Breakfast was a good. Would stay again
S. B.
A very good location about a two minute walk from Russell square underground station which will take you to central London or Heathrow airport the rooms are good clean the staff are very good and friendly you get a choice of a continental breakfast or a full English breakfast there are two bars the night and day where you can have a drink and food from 11am until late evening for a good price
B. D.
Nice hotel with nice breakfast
l. b.
A friendly run hotel but looking a little tired but is still a good place as a base if your visiting London, breakfast was vast and nice too,1 in walk from underground & major bus routes,20 min walk to covent garden ,30mins from Thames but
a. b.
A basic CLEAN stay with a 1920s style bar. Very helpful and friendly staff. Our second visit, there will be a 3rd.
M. D.
Great location for the tube or just a short walk to the theatre district. Hotel was clean and the breakfast was awesome.
R. M.
Helpful staff, fresh bedding, lovely breakfasts and a great bar. Thank you for helping to make my stay so enjoyable.
C. W.
For the price this is far superior to a Travel Lodge. Exceeded my originally very low expectations. Great central location, good breakfast, good hotel for the price.
M. G.
Rooms and hotel clean and pleasant. Generic Breakfast with limited English and continental selections. Good location for tube access.
B.
Overall, it was a good stay, up to its usual standard. However, first night was marred slightly after an incident concerning food from the hotel bar.
S. P.
