M. J.Hotel is in a lovely location, near the train and tube stations. Nice size room, but the bathroom is a bit cramped and there isn't a lot of storage for clothes. WiFi wasn't great and also 1 pillow per person is a bit tight. Otherwise a decent hotel.

C. W. E.You honestly get what you pay for here. Room was small but okay and clean, bed was stiff but sleep-able, but bathroom was TINY, honestly looked like a closet. There was no separation from shower to the rest of the bathroom, so the entire floor got soaking wet anytime I showered. Eventually I sacrificed a towel to keep the water from spreading, but even that didn't help too much.
I don't know if the rest of the hotel is like this, but I'm relatively certain the metro ran right next to our room- every ten minutes or so it felt like our entire room was shaking from it.
Breakfast is surprisingly decent, I wouldn't recommend paying extra for the English breakfast, you get enough with the normal breakfast. Staff were nice, but they led me astray by recommending I be at the train station about twenty minutes early for my train. As an American, I've never taken a train before and didn't realize you have to be there THIRTY minutes before, otherwise they won't let you on. Yeah, so we missed our train, which sucked, but I do acknowledge that's partially my fault. I just wish these guys had given proper advice when asked.
A. D.A gem! The room was very clean and cosy and our daughter was even given own room with a view to the lovely park outside! The location is great as it gives you quick access to train and underground. We were well taken care of, the receptionists attended our constant questions on what to do in London, and the level of service buy all personel was excellent. Don’t miss the amazing breakfast pancakes!. We felt like being hosted by close relatives. Whenever we visit London again there is no other hotel we will choose.Best value for money ever!
L. W.Overall, it's fine. I slept well, ate a decent breakfast, and loved the location. However, the climb to my room on the 4th floor was horrendous. Rickety and uneven stairs, narrow stairwells, weird set up of the stairwells... not thrilled but knew about it going into it. The rooms are rather dumpy. The beds felt old and the sheets and duvets were torn and kinda gross. The room could use a good updating. The bathroom was clean and a nice size. I loved that the windows opened and looked out over the beautiful park across the street. I thought it was a relatively quiet and pleasant location at night. Very safe, especially for solo travelers like me. Lots of good food options in the area. I was disappointed to find that putting the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door meant nothing because when I came back after being out for the day, I found my beds made, clean towels, and the room straightened. I really didn't want my room serviced and thought the "Do Not Disturb" sign would do the trick but clearly not. The desk staff were nice and easy to deal with. I asked for a fan on my first night's stay but they didn't have any. The next night, I asked for one and they were very accommodating. It helped keep the room cooler at night. I'd consider staying here again but would probably shop around elsewhere, since most of the hotels in the area are comparable in price and options and might be a bit more modern compared to the old Shakespeare.

Good position, just near the underground and with several restaurants at few meters.
The staff was very kind and available.
Breakfast: We liked the waffels, freshly cooked and tasty. Not large variety but it was fine.
The structure is a bit antiquated but we had a nice and clean room, comfortable beds big enough if the aim is to visit London. We were sleeping very well, no sounds from the street, indeed the hotel is not directly situated on a road with traffic.
C. C.As a solo woman travelling in London, this was a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of London. It is an easy walk from Paddington Station which was a must for me as I have limited mobility. The friendly staff at the reception made it a welcoming spot. The single rooms are small with their own toilet and shower. The breakfast was good for a continental one. No complaints about anything.
R. M.The hotel was perfectly located with access to Paddington Station and everything we needed was close at hand. Breakfast was serviceable if not inspired. Fresh waffles, boiled and scrambled eggs, ham and cheese slices, cold cereal, yogurt and fruit were available. The supplement for the Full English Breakfast might be a good option for a couple £.
The hotel was well maintained and very clean.
N.It is pretty cheap so you can not expect too much. The restrooms were clean and looked new. The stuff was nice and helped where they needed to.
Our room was at the 4th floor, the staircase got slimmer the higher you got.
The fire alarm was loud enough to wake us up so no need to worry there.

C. A. G.Excellent value for money. The room was clean and for the budget the breakfast is more than ample. Only downside was the smell inthe bathrooms. It reeks of sewerage, but it is a smell only and must be poor drainage,the bathrooms are spotless.
A.The hotel is a great deal for the price. The accomodation is good enough. The breakfast is nice. The stairs are a bit too steep. Very close to public transportation (Paddington tube and multiple bus stops). Very clean spaces and helpful staff. Incredibly central to move all over London.

p. d. b.Perfect location near train station and tube. Room is small, but who needs a big room when you only use the room during nighttime. Breakfast is good. Waffles, toast and cake. Service from every employee is good too. Only bad thing is the shower. You have either no water pressure or no warm water. And with no pressure I mean the water drips from the shower. I have had great pressure on 42th floor of hotel in New York, so I expect more on second floor here than a dribble.

But it is clean and tidy, efficient and helpful crew, 2 min walk from Paddington - a major train and tube station, and a walk from Hyde Park.
You do hear the underground trains every few min but it is no more than a distant quiet rumble, at least in the higher floors.
Rooms for 5-6 persons make it a very cheap options for families who wish to see London (and not hang in the hotel)
D. D.Location is really good. Single rooms are absolutely tiny which make it cosy in my opinion. The lighting is quite confusing because there are chains/ropes and they are hidden (for someone not used to them. I cant comment on the price because I got it through a travel agent. The staff were quite helpful, pointing out places to visit etc.

No weird smells, no mess, no bed bugs, bins cleaned everyday, no cold (we stayed there on NY's Eve)
This is not a youth hostel but a real hotel.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, the hotel is very quiet and it is quite enjoyable to chill in the room after a long day strolling!
There's a kettle and some tea and coffee in the room
breakfast is quite good as well, nothing too fancy but a lot to eat sugary and salty which is more than enough.

E. H.Hotel the was clean. Fire regulations weren't clear and there appeared to be no fire escape on the top floor, which was a worry. Breakfast was poor, consisted of what looked like cheap cereal, swiss and chocolate roll, tinned fruit, waffles and toast. All drinks were from a machine and were like warm. Guess you get what you pay for. Big plus for us it is walking distance to St. Mary's hospital and we only stayed one night

A. D.It has what you need and the location is great - a Bus stop is just around the corner and Paddington station is at about 3 minutes walk. Continental breakfast was ok, but I was there for 6 days and they didn't change anything in the menu, would be nice if they put in some variety. The room wasn't very clean at check-in. During the stay they also forgot to give us any towels after they washed the old ones. One day prior to the check out the room didn't get cleaned at all.
L. G. D.The hotel was as expected, small rooms, "plastic bathrooms" and no lifts, only carpeted stairs. But it is close to the underground and railway stations, it is clean and the staff is friendly. Simple but ok breakfast. Good value for money.
A. B.Good points: Fairly last minute booking and at £76 for two people was a steal. Great location, close to Oxford street and Hyde park with good connections. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was lovely. Personally found it hilarious that we had a five single bed room for two people. Others may have disliked that.
Bad points: terrible free wi-fi, with a £5 charge to improve it. Im not opposed to no lifts in a hotel but the staircases were very small and were having work done. Was lucky to only be on the second floor. Im an quick sleeper but some may be put off by thin walls and the water pipes being fairly loud.
Overall, for the price, location and decent quality of stay it gets 4stars would go again on a budget

A. U.A pretty good basic hotel, with excellent travel connections. My room was small and clean But the tiny en suite wet room bathroom was cute , the bed was comfortablle.
The steps down to the dining room were a bit steep. The staff were friendly and helpful. a good option for short stays close to central London.

Β. Τ.We visited Shakespeare hotel 31 October till 5 November 2017. The rooms were clean and spacy, beyond my expectations for the money we payed for. The intercontinental breakfast was fair and offered us a wide variety to choose from. The rooms were cleaned daily as well as towels did. We had a small but nice balcony which viewed the saffolk park. The only complaint was that the receptionists to were not helpful except from a Greek guy who's name I can't remember. By the way if you intent to visit London and want a value for money hotel check this out.
P. G.This is a fair Hotel in London City. I had a personal room with in-suite bathroom. I stayed 2 days and I really appreciated my stay. Do not expect a luxurious or modern Hotel but fair Hotel. Reception desk staff was nice! I recommend this Hotel for short term stay for young traveller!

c. a.I stayed at this hotel in february 2017. The room was fine, but the badroom was quite small. The best thing about this hotel is its position, because it is close to the Hyde Park and all of the main objectives in London.
The breakfast was ok, I had the opportunity to choose between toast bread, waffles, butter, jam, cheese, ham, boiled egg etc.
I disliked that my neighbours were noisy. I've heard a women screaming two nights in a row.
A. C.Rooms are relatively inexpensive compared to others in the area. We ended up with 2 really large and nice rooms for $95 USD/night. Stairs with no elevator. Big bus tours pick up at the corner, Paddington station is really close and lots of dining options nearby making it a good choice for exploring London when arriving from Heathrow airport. Take the connect not the express when arriving from the support and save $$$.

El desayuno era de 7:30 A 9:30 y era muy completo tipo buffet.
El personal algo serio pero muy amable y profesionales.

Trotz der zentralen Lage und günstigem Preis überzeugt dieses Hotel leider nur zum Teil. Van de voorkant ziet het gebouw er erg sjiek uit, het interieur is wel oke maar de achterkant van het gebouw ziet er niet uit. Ik heb wat foto's genomen van de kamer. De mensen zijn vriendelijk en de wifi is ook wel oke. Je kunt er simpele dingen mee doen en spelletjes op spelen als ze niet te zwaar zijn. Youtube kijken gaat waarschijnlijk niet lukken. Het ontbijt bestaat uit verschillende dingen; toast, ham, kaas, soms worstjes, ei, jam, yoghurt, cornflakes en chocolade pasta. Een echt English breakfast zou ik het niet noemen maar het is wel een prima ontbijtje. Ik zou dit hotel alleen aanraden als je zeker weet dat je de hele dag weg bent en iets te doen hebt. In het hotel is namelijk niks te beleven en met warm weer kun je niet normaal slapen in je kamer.

Nur zum Schlafen reicht es vollkommen. Allerdings sollte man dann nicht mit Luxus rechnen. Die Heizung blubbert, die Klospülung rauscht und die U-Bahn fuhr sozusagen "unter dem Bett" her. Pontos positivos:
- ao redor do hotel há muitos pontos para alimentação. São diversos restaurantes de variados países. Também há cafeterias, fast food (Mcdonalds, Burguer King, KFC e Subway) e pequenos mercados para compras para abastecer o frigobar do quarto (frigobar é deixado vazio). Os preços são variados.
- para quem chega à Londres de trem pela estação St. Pancras, há linhas de ônibus (205) e metrô que nos deixaram a 150 m do hotel.

Die Zimmer sind typisch für diese Gegend: recht klein. Aber man will ja die Stadt anschauen und zum Übernachten ist es okay. TV, Föhn, Adapter, extra Decken sind kein Problem, alles ist hier vorhanden. Mit der Sauberkeit kommt man jetzt keinem deutschen Standard hinterherhinterher, aber es ist wirklichwirklich okay. Die Betten und das Bad waren so weit sauber.
Es ist alt. Es knarzt hier, kalt dort und man hört auch mal die Bahn und es sieht alles schon irgendwie etwas abgenutzt hathat. Damit muss man leben können. Aber wer Ruhe will, wäre in London eh verkehrt.
Der Service ist super freundlich. Typisch britische Höflichkeit und jeder ist zuvorkommend. Die Post wird für einen Weg geschickt und die Koffer kann man sicher einsperren lassen, wenn man vor dem check in kommtkommt oder nach dem check in noch was erledigen will.
