Stayed in one of the private ensuite rooms for four nights. Location was great, very close to paddington station, and the central line, as well as hyde park. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn't know they would come in to make the bed and change the towels everyday which was great! They even. put the roses I received in a vase for us! Breakfast was included with the room, even if it wasn't it was only about £1 a day extra. I have nothing bad to say, one recommendation would be to fix the window in the room as i noticed it didn't lock, but it wasn't a major concern. Would definitely stay here again and I 100% recommend this to all!

It is a nice hostel. Plenty of rooms. With lift. Dorms with shower ensuit. They also has double room for two. The price is good for a tourist nights. They have a small area like pub.

We had a great time with my friends in this hostel. It was well situated in London and worth our money. The team was really nice and helpful and the room was clean and practical.
It really made our stay in London worth it!

I just left here with my family, myself and my husband and 3 children. It wasn't really what we were expecting as we had never stayed in a hostel before. Firstly, the staff are all lovely and really helpful. The bar and reception area is well maintained and the location is brilliant, all local links by bus and underground nit to mention its right next to hyde park, you can literally spend all day there. The only down fall is the rooms are not really suitable for families as it is all dorms on the ground on basement floor and that is where we had to be placed due to the number of us. The hostel facilitates for people all over from both short and long term stays and for that reason I don't feel its ideal for children. This place would be more suited to single and couple travellers, which is mainly what it consists of, they also have a kitchen and wash facilities.

For the money, it is fine. Tiny, not the cleanest private double. Shower terrible. But quiet and well located.

All the staff members there were so so nice and sweet, very lovely place to stay, and very lovely bar at the grand floor with nice music! Very appreciated all the help by the staffs🙌❤️

Rooms and beds are clean, good sapceous lounge at the basement. Receptionists are professional and helpful. Free continental breakfast, good enough to start the day. There is a little bar at the groundfloor for beer, coffee, tea etc... The room I stayed was too small.

I would prefer not to have a room on street level but it is ideal for Hyde Park and easy travelling to Central London. I am becoming a regular visitor and it is good to have a familiar place to rest.

Stayed for 2 nights bed was fine, hired a locker and bathroom was fine. Bar area upstairs, kitchen and communal area downstairs. Staff all fine......all as expected from a hostel. Recommended

A huge thank you to everyone who works in this hostel, especially the girls at the reception for their hospitality with the guests, especially Martina! I also want to thank those who make order in this location, cleaning, it is an enormous hard work especially in this period of pandemic when you have to have a lot of patience and selflessness. Everything was at a very good level, it is located in a beautiful area! Thank you very much ! I recommend to all those who want to be right in the center of London where they can enjoy the most beautiful moments !!!😍😍😍

The room actually not bad and the staff are really helpful

I stayed in a private room and it was perfectly acceptable. The bed was comfy and the wifi was strong. Water pressure in our private room was weak though. It was so difficult to wash my hair with that weak pressure.
However, I can't forgive the hostel for throwing away my eggs and a newly purchased £16++ of three combination bbq meat from Four Season Resto that I stored in the fridge just for just ONE night. THAT MEAT WAS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN ONE NIGHT IN THEIR DORM ROOM!!! I mean, I couldn't write my name coz they didn't leave any sticker tag or even a pen just like other hostels. But they could've just leave the meat at the table before threw it away!!! I saw them leaving other guests' food on table so other guests could save it before it got thrown away!!!!!!

My husband and I had a private room and my sister's stayed in the hostel portion. We had a great experience. Our fan didn't work and they brought us a new one right away. We had an en suite bathroom and a TV. Breakfast was free for us but it was simple. Ham, cheese, toast, and cereal. My sisters did not have a great experience. There was two outlets in a room of 6 guests. The front desk refused to provide them with some sort of power bar so everyone had a plug. Breakfast for them was in a separate area from the hotel guests completely and the lines were so long to get only toast or cereal, that they decided to bail and find something at the train station. Their bathroom was also out of order. So overall, I recommend the hotel portion and not the hostel portion! It has a great location and is next to a nice little pub as well.

I’m a little biased as I’m not a fan of hostels but I have to say that I came out pleased, I got a twin room with a friend. Whilst it was good, the heating couldn’t be touched so it got hot at nights, which led to the window being opened and sometimes disturbed nights due to the noise from the streets. Decent breakfast and bar, guests were of all ages/locations, which made it diverse and staff were satisfactory as well.

The bed were clean, a little hot in the room but to be expected in that one week of summer we had. Staff were super friendly, and helpful to boot. Breakfast was what you expect for the price of the room, standard continental, cereal and toast. Location was fantastic. No complaints from me. Only wish I could have stayed longer

Smart Hyde Park View is a good basic hostel.
I stayed in the all female dorm which is absolutely fine if a little snug... We were playing hands, knees and boompsidaisy at one point as we got up for breakfast.
Reception is staffed 24/7 and the staff a friendly and informative.
It's a great location.
Breakfast provides a good range of juices, cereals, yoghurts, bread, toast, jams, spreads, cheese and ham...
The window to the room doesn't open so it can get very hot in there (although there is a fan).
The bunks are small but each has a power socket and a curtain for privacy.
It's also en-suit which is great but the floor can get very wet... there was quite a puddle surrounding the sink.
But all in all - a great stay :)

Great location, right next to Hyde Park and The tube. Rooms were basic but very reasonably priced for where it is. Breakfast functional-toast, cereal, cheese and ham. You had to put your bedding on and strip for laundering when you leave so you know it's fresh. It could do with a reading light in the bunk and if you are taller than 5 ft 6 you might be better off getting the top bunk, I couldn't sit upright without banging my head! I would recommend this place and be happy to stay again x

We have disabled children with aspergers and the staff were very accommodating and welcoming..

Very good value for money and fantastic location, however, the building and bedrooms are over dated. In summer, the temperature inside is insane, no-air con forcing guests to have their windows open 24/7! This bank holiday weekend was so hot, it must have been almost 30 degrees inside as it was outside.
Only one fan attached to the corner of the room is supposed to cool a 8 beds room. The room was very humid and stuffy. The mattresses of the bunk beds are so thin, your back will ache as it is very uncomfortable to sleep on. The bunk beds are too close from one another and bedrooms too small living a very limited space for suitcases. The duvets are not always clean and smell. Only clean bedsheets are given to you on the day you check-in. No idea if and when the pillow cases are changed.
The breakfast options are very basic: white or white sliced bread. On the tables: jam, chocolate paste or butter in drinking glasses. Hot drinks: tea or coffee and milk. Cold drinks: Orange or apple juice made from concentrate. Cereals: cornflakes.
Lastly but more importantly, it is impossible to seat properly on your bed as the beds are very narrow and very low so you will have to keep your head down to prevent banging your head on the bed above you. Similarly, the space to actually get into your bed space is also very narrow.
G. H.
Not such a good experience. Too many beds in a small space. Did not have a individual lamp like most of the hostels I've been have so it was very difficult to do things during the night without turning on the lights and bothering the other guests. Shower was quite OK but at some point it got too hot, almost burning. Shower is old. the overall impression is that the place lacks maintenance.
V. S.
The location is pretty good, arguably the best part of it. The workers are quite friendly and helpful, nothing to complain there. The room, on the other hand, was a bit of a disappointment - too cramped and with no proper ventilation (not good in London's summer!). Also the fact that the beds don't have individual power outlets, and the room lockers have to be hired, are a big minus. But overall, it's decent for its price.
A. O.
Well. It is not that bad as the 3 stars suggests, however it is not the most pleasant hostel I've been to. The staff is nice, the rooms are somewhat clean but the whole place is in need of a renovation. It doesn't have that patina that so many British flats possess, it is just plain old. The breakfast is the same every morning but it is 'all you can eat' so it is nice to have. The price for the rooms and breakfast are more than ok. I paid ~26 pounds for two nights with breakfast. They also sell a power plug converter which I obviously forgot to bring.

It was an easy place to just show up and get a room. We splurged on a private room. It was perfect- just what we wanted. Like others said- very very small. Just enough room to walk around the bed and that’s it. I couldn’t even put my suitcase open on the floor. They provided towels and breakfast with the room and a very cute tiny bathroom. We had just come from a boat in Paris and this was much similar. I would say it was definitely not cheap for what you get hence the three stars. I think these tiny rooms would be better at $50 then $85.

Very nice, clean hostel with friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast is included if you book direct. It is simple, but you can have as much as you want. Excellent WiFi service and large dining room/day room. Shower was nice and hot. There are also outside benches if you want to go outside for a smoke. Shops on Bayswater, about 10 minute walk, as is Queensway Tube which takes you on the Central Line straight into the center of London. Nearly every other line cuts the Central at some point, which means you can get almost anywhere with only one underground change. The price of the hostel is quite competitive too. This was my fourth stay there.
M. S.
The hostel is right near the underground stop, so it's very easy to get around. We had our own double room, and the facilities were very nice. Breakfast was very basic, just with toast and some cereal and juice. The elevator is insanely slow, but overall we had a good experience.
M. A.
Well it's okey, because it's cheap. The rooms are really tiny, about 40cm between the beds. And the breakfast is terrible, you can eat toast with nutella or marmalade or nothing. A bit more selection won't damage. The personal was really friendly. But "guys, keep the noise down please"
c.
Nice place, friendly staff, clean and good price. Good for a couple of days on holidays. It's not that close to the center of London, if you expect to walk all the way. Free Internet and Plug/power on all the beds walls (very useful and very nice touch :-) well done) to charge the phone or tablet.
Just a small think.... Make sure you leave a small paper with information of you check out on top of the bed everytime you walk away from your room, if not......the sheets will disappear like magic ;-)... Funny moments happen.

Fabulous. Central. Clean. Friendly

Love the place and the staff. It's a hostel.ypu get what you pay for. A capsule for 19 quid per night.but good place.clean and quiet. Beds are 6 foot long though (I was 6"2)

Great hotel to just pull up on a Friday night I London. Right next to Hyde Park, very convenient. Great staff, all so nice
T.
Our room was quite okay, with our own seperate bathroom and everything. Although some of the rooms contained beds that were just matresses on the floor. Also, because the door passes can unlock any door, a stranger randomly walked in our room, which is a serious theft hazard.
N. H.
Decent hostel for a very cheap price on a good location. The included breakfast is a nice bonus. The 4 person bedroom I stayed in was a little warm though. Also the atmosphere and vibe wasn't that great, although the people were very kind.

For one night it is a ok Hostel, but for more time i personally don't recommend. There is no lockers for your stuff, that make me feel a little insecure, and also means a more messy room, even more because the dorm was really small. The beds are really "low", so you cannot sit in your bed. Thats very uncomfortable and claustrophobic.
W. A.
One of staff working morning shift; short body, round face wide shoulders angry look attacking people in the morning, started moaning because I put my bicycle inside (otherwise it’ll gone stolen) claiming that is locking the fire door exit but it wasn’t and I made sure that there is space, I wouldn’t give him even picking up papers from the floor if I was the owner. He needed a slap in the face in the morning but wasn’t woke up yet when he started moaning otherwise he would have had it.
All other staff are friendly and clean place overall and nice decorated bar.
Hey people if you book in this place try to avoid him because he’ll do his best for you to have a bad day.

Brilliant hotel- around the corner from Hyde Park- 2 mins walk so amazing location for that. The rooms have aircon and a good strong shower and the beds comfy to sleep in. I was pleasantly surprised by the room, items in the room and the space. The staff were lovely and the continental breakfast was great - it was £2 per person per day for cereal, toast, tea, coffee, jams, hams and cheeses. Very impressed and would stay again :-)
C. H.
Nice hostel in calm area but close to queensway station. Our double room was clean and big enough for a short stay, the "upgraded" breakfast which was included in our room was coffee, tea, juice, toast, cheese and ham, jam, cereals and yoghurt. There was also a small breakfast for other residents in dorms, where there were no yoghurt or cheese and ham. It was all very clean and tidy, but the common room was not that cozy and there was not kitchen for the guests, which is a huge contra. There was only a small microwave and plastic dishes with no forks, you had to ask for them at the reception.
Thank you for having us and this good experience.
P. D.
Is very small compared with other hostel and good service. Some people stay for a long period at the hostel so the feel like the room is theirs. I came for holidays and we have troubles with someone in our room because she was living there.
J. N.
Well located hostel and very nice staff. Room and bed were a bit small, especially if you are more than 6 feet tall. So perfect for short stay.
T. K.
Really nice and helpful staff. The facilities are avg for a hostel. Nothing great but the staff seemed to work hard to keep everything clean.
The breakfast sucks but it's free.
Cereal and milk were ok but the juice was watered down and fake.
Toast with jam.
Good bread but cheap corn syrup jam.
M. O.
I stayed in a 6 bed dorm with 5 friends.
The rooms are en-suite., perfect for a group of friends as you do not have to share the bathroom.
Breakfast is included.
Staff really friendly and helpful, we bought discounted pub-crawls tickets at the reception, we will come back ;-) thanks guys!!

Just near Hyde Park and also near Buckingham Palace. Their staffs were all very friendly to me and I greeted cheerfully in the middle of the night! Breakfast was just good: toast, cereal, and beverages. It also got ATM inside and have their own bar. Linens are provided but no towels.
L. D. B.
Clean and friendly. Bunk beds are comfy and silent. The Dining Room is nice and so is the bar/cafe. Great value for money. Kudos to the Team!
E.
The location is really good, right beside Kensington gardens. The place is clean and the staff very kind. The only problem we had was that towels for private bathrooms are not included and cost 5 pounds each. Besides that a really good hostel.
N. N.
Very satisfied with the service from first day check in until last day check out. The location of property is very strategic with reasonable price. The staff is helpful, the facilities is convincing and the room is comfort, clean and tidy.
M. B.
An average hostel. Great location but it tends to be noisy (which is not their fault really). On the mornings you can have free cereal but you have to pay for the lockers under the bed (which was a first for me). The 6 bed room was a bit cramped.
R. D.
Friendly staff and a good place to stop off for a drink. (Didn't stay, but in non Covid times seams like a good place for backpackers/travelers)
a. s.
stayed for one night while in london for an interview I've seen reviews claiming this hostel is dirty and staff were unhelpful! I certainly did not find this to be the case staff were very friendly and helpful the rooms were clean and tidy if not modern yes the beds are quite small but what do people expect if u want 5 star luxury then go pay for 5 star luxury if u want reasonably priced affordable clean hostel then go here
A. M. S.
Great cheap place to stay if all you need is a bed. Breakfast includes tea, orange drink, toast with Nutella and jam, and corn flakes with milk. Room became quite hot and stuffy due to sun shining through window during the day and practically no air flow. If you are used to Air Conditioning then this was be quite uncomfortable for you.
J. M.
First time visit of any type of hostel, well impressed better than staying in some of the ropier local B&Bs. Breakfast included but basic. Ideal location for Hyde Park events. Must be prepared to share. Arrive early to avoid getting one of the higher bunks.
N. R.
The Location is really nice, you're directly in front of the hyde park. The rooms are and bathrooms are not perfectly clean but nothing too bad. The included breakfeast consist of bread, cheese, ham and sweet toppings you can also get a tea or a coffee out of a machine, you're probably only going to drink it for the caffein and not for the flavor. It was overall a OK expierience.
W. J.
Really a decent hostel, the rooms are okay and they have blinds on the beds! Suite bathrooms are exceptable, but not really anything to brag about. Lobby is really fun, and location is great!
E. F.
A nice room with 2 single beds and private bathroom for 2 guess costs us, 30£/person, the same day that we book it. So I think it was good value for money.
They have free television. They also have free wifi, but in the top floor, (in the room 606) it is a bit unreliable, it connects and disconnects often. It's better on the ground floor. The breakfast was included from 7:30 to 9:30am. The room and the bathroom was clean. There is a bar next to the reception and a food store in front of the hostel entrance. It's very close to the Paddington Station and Hyde Park and you can find the London tourist bikes points very close.
I would recommend it.
I. T.
Good and organized. Close to nice spots in central London. Great staff also, and nice service! But the shared rooms are quite small. The smallest I'd seen then...
J. M.
Located right beside Hyde Park and about a 15 minutes walk from Paddington station it's well suited for exploring London from. The staff are friendly and helpful and the simple breakfast was more than enough to start the days. My only gripe is that the in my lockers used a padlock, and not expecting this I had not carried one and had to purchase another one!
S. Z.
The dorm room was clean. The bathroom wasn't big at all. The staff was friendly. The location is great and for the money we've payed it's totally worth it.
T. P.
Im only here for 1 night, i didnt expect much for £23 a night however, the location is absolutely perfect - i got off at Euston Station - took the underground (northern line) to tottenham court road then the Central Line to Queensway - from there its a 5 minute walk to the hostel.
The staff i have met so far are lovely and friendly and very helpful.
As stated above - i did not expect much for £23 but boy i am impressed, 6 beds in a room 6 lockers plenty of sockets and a bathroom (shower room) what more can you ask for for £23 ow wait... that includes a breakfast!! WHAATTT!!
ultimately i am in London, i do not want to be living inside my room, i want to be out and about meeting people, chatting and taking London in for all its glory.
SO if you are looking for a cracking location and a very very budget price then this has to be your place. All you need is aplace to get your head down, have a quick wash and away you go!
J. O.
When I checked in(yesterday) I had to wait until the noon. I arrived at like 10:30am ish and the receptionist told me I had to wait an hour and half.
And today a guy checked in at 7 in the morning and woke everyone up. Why ?
You have to deal with the perks of sleeping with 7 other people a.k.a. snoring snobs. But it applies to all hostels with room-shares.
C. M.
+ Perfect location
+ Friendly stuff
+ Common areas are cool
- Our room was way too small for 6 people
- Really small shower
- There is no kitchen so you can’t cook or eat anything at the hostel
E. L.
Very small 8 person room. No hangers for towels anywhere. System for keeping track of beds is strange. Curtains for each bed was nice
K. S.
The beds are only about 1.80 m. This is far less than the usual minimum standard of 2m. There is no warning on the website. As a slightly taller man I don't fit in there. It's a bad joke. And it's a pity, because the hostel is decent otherwise. If you are small, that is.
L. B.
Rooms were clean. No A/C. Sign on water tap in bathroom says "no drinking water". Breakfast buffet quite small. All in all: OK for the price.
S. N.
It's near to Queensway station which is the Central line so it's very easy to move around the city. Also is near to the Marble Arch. It's in front of Hyde Park. Although isn't exactly at the city center, the location is a nice zone where you can find a lot of restaurants, supermarkets, and more.
The staff is very nice. Breakfast it's simple cereal, milk, juice.

The beds are comfy and the room with the bathroom is clean. But it's a bit small and the breakfast is not the best
