R.Brilliant location and well priced for London. Our windows opened onto a dark courtyard area with no natural light so it felt a bit like a prison room, rooms are decorated like a nice travelodge, for the cost and location it was worth the stay. Staff are very friendly, hotel is very clean, would definitely come back again.
C. R.This hotel is beautiful, especially when you first walk in. The location is excellent, on Northumberland Avenue, a 1 minute walk from Nelson's Column. There was fresh chilled water and a vending machine on our floor, just bear in mind the vending machine is coin only! The room itself is lovely, very spacious and with a huge Smart TV! There wasn't a view out of our window unfortunately but this wasn't a huge deal to us. Overall, it was a lovely stay to celebrate my birthday and I will recommend this again as a treat for anyone looking to stay in Central London!
L. H.Our favourite hotel in Central London. Excellent atmosphere and helpful staff. Rooms was very clean and well equipped. A little smaller than we have had previously. Great location. Used the bar for pre dinner drinks which was lovely. They offer bag leaving service which is helpful when still sight seeing. Expensive but worth it for the location and a treat!

T. H.Distinctly disappointing experience. Covid restrictions still very much in place meaning no one will enter your room - took three attempts to get more toiletries or bins emptied. Room was noisy with sash windows that rattled in the wind and let street noise in even on the 9th floor. Room had a hole in the wall stuffed with tissue paper and yet had been so called deep cleaned. All round poor for the price and star rating. The location is awesome, so if they get back to club quarters usual standards it would be ok, but right now (Feb 2022) avoid if you can!

s. b.For London and getting a nice hotel with out having to pay loads this was great. The room didn't have a view but had everything you really need. The shower was good and powerfull, with the option of have this as strong as you want. Breakfast was great and well worth the money, make sure you get there earlyish as from about 9 it really started to fill up.

P. C.Lovely staff, probably the best of the hotel, in particular Dahlia who was always there for helping. I needed to check out before time as I had to leave London, and the staff helped me to pack all my stuff without issues.
The breakfast, although was quite basic, was worth it for the service offered by the breakfast area employees.
Only issue I would say is that there was no bath in my room, just a shower.

A bottle of wine and sweets along with a birthday note were in the room for our arrival. Fabulous location. The staff really are 1st class. We will most definetly be staying here again. facilities - a vending area with fresh chilled water, ice chips and empty bottles for us to fill and take back to the room. I’ve never seen this before and it was brilliant.
value - exceptional. we would stay here again in a heart beat.

The hotel was very clean and smelt fresh.
The room was the perfect size.
The TV is a smart one, and having netflix you can use your own credentials. Remember to delete the browsing history which will clear your login details.
Walk in shower and the shower temperature is adjustable to your perfect temperature without it going hot and cold all the time.
The bed was ok for us, but a bed if always a hit and miss with everyone.
One great option is having free bottled water and crushed ice which is on every floor.
We cannot comment on the food as we ate out or had a takeaway.
B. E.Pretty underwhelmed by this hotel. For the cost I was paying, I didn't think id be having consistent problems with getting Wifi. I had to resort to using my phone hotspot. The room I was in was fine but it did not have any additive amenities that would set it apart from a Holiday Inn. The location is great and the bed is comfy so I'll give it points for that but I genuinely don't think I'd reccomend staying here for longer than a weekend.
P. A.For the last 5 nights this has been our home. The room was very cramped at first, but you don't need who you are traveling all day anymore. The water jet from the shower head was super powerful. The bed is super soft (nothing for my back) and the noise level is zero on the 7th floor. The maid comes in corona times only on request.Which is ok as you can also help keep your room clean. Like at home, no one comes to make your bed😜

A. A.First and foremost let me say I will choose this hotel all over again; it’s now my second home 🤩!
Even before my check in dates I’ve had a smooth “romance” with the hotel informing me of necessary info and details. I had a superb upgrade at a fair and low price. On arriving I was welcome by an impressive decoration at the reception and a warm smile to last ages from the reception staff. Now to the specifics:
Location & Accessibility: located along the Northumberland Avenue with so much to see, eat, drink and stare if you wanna; a 2-min walk away from the historic Trafalgar Square, 3-min stroll away from the Charing Cross Station, the Hungerford Bridge and Golden Jubilee Bridges over the River Thames. And just around the right bend though same block is the Nigeria High Commission (which makes this hotel perfect if you have an appointment at the Nigeria House.

Staff: they are just wonderful!!!
Facilities: I can’t name them all but a few;
Elevators: the elevators are fully functional and I love the super idea that only guests can fully access the elevators to the rooms using the room card. This is a superb security and safety measure.
WIFI: There is free WiFi available to be accessed in a customized means of using your room number and last name.
Meals: Complimentary breakfast awaits you depending on your choice. I didn’t try neither the lunch nor dinner.
Rooms: the room I lodged was excellently neat with the bed inviting for a long deep and relaxing sleep. The toilet 🚽 is stainlessly clean. My only concern is the walk-in bathroom - the water can splash into the toilet floor and you gotta be careful not to slip over.
You have good control of the temperature of your room to suit you.
Overall: this is definitely worth the stay, looking forward to another stay. I recommend 💯%
A. Z.I could not have been any happier with this hotel; it was perfect and just about every way. Let's start with the location - it is literally walking distance from just about anything you could want to see in London (10-15 minute walk tops) and is also RIGHT by the Charing Cross tube station which is incredibly convenient. The hotel staff was so incredibly nice and helpful, the hotel was clean and well organized, as were the rooms. The rooms were very spacious, quiet, and clean. They also had great amenities with the huge flat screen TV, the USB plug outlets, etc. One of the HUGE added bonuses was the water machine with empty bottles you could use at any time. This was incredibly convenient and saves a lot of money. Overall, this hotel has everything you could ask for and I highly recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff, ready to help as needed. The location is really good, very central, which has a downside in terms of noise.
The room was good, although the windows did not work properly. The bathroom was very small, retrofit. Worst of all: the room was not done even once in the four days that we stayed there. They blamed it on coronavirus, but while we were sightseeing the cleaning staff could have come in and make the room. We were not informed about this lack of cleaning services prior to arrival, thus 3 stars.

S.Hotel was nice and clean and staff were very friendly. Location is an absolute A++ - walkable to everywhere we wanted to see in London with little effort, and with the tube and busses nearby we could venture a little further out when we wanted to as well. Prices also seemed very fair for the location too! Only downside is that our room had absolutely no view other than a corner of the roof, so the window was always dark and it was hard to get a sense of the time of day (but on the plus side, it meant we slept incredibly well because it was dark and quiet no matter what time of the day!). Would stay again for sure.

We didn't take the breakfast at the hotel, because it is continental and not cheap, so we preferred to have a breakfast in the restaurants in the streets near the hotel.
The room is small, but as compared to other hotels was just fine.
The workers at the reception were very nice and were very happy to help with any problem.
T. D.Very nice room. Clean, with everything you could need for a nice sleep. Comfy bed, prime location and a Tesco's express down the road should you need more milk or coffee. Check-in is was very quick and efficient. ONLY bad point I would make was the holding amount they took from my card was much higher than the room price then charged me again for the room on booking out and it took 10 days for the holding amount to be refunded. Make sure to factor that into a budget.

Positioned very close to the very heart of London and in such a magnificent building.
As you go through the large turning entrance door, you are welcomed by an Art Deco reception area with floor to ceiling marble and large chandeliers.
The staff are very welcoming , polite with with happy faces and efficient.
The room was spacious enough with out feeling cramped and extremely clean.
Would I ever return to tbis hotel?

Front desk staff are TOTALLY UNHELPFUL. Acted like we'd disturbed them trying to check in. We were not used to the 'self check' system they used (had never seen anything like it) and they acted like it was a HUGE INTERRUPTION to help us. No help with suitcases; finally did tell us where the lift (not elevator), was located. Oh, and they gave us our key, but damned little else.
Location, Location, Location is what this hotel offers. Bar, but no cafe. But close to Trafalgar Square with St. Martin in the Fields wonderful basement cafe in it. Also a local chain is just up the street. Everything in metro London is really close, either within easy walking distance, or you can jump in the tube and get there in minutes. For that it is perfect. BUT,
I'm not sure I'd stay here again though. The front desk staff act like they really don't WANT you to be their guest. And there are plenty of other small hotels in central London who are friendly, helpful, and looking out for guests.
Oh, right across the street is the Sherlock Holmes Pub. If you are a fan of the books, TV series, or movies it is a MUST stop. Good food, drinks and friendly staff.

B. R.Really friendly staff, except when you call the front desk. No fridge in the room. We also weren't told to not use our own hair dryer. You must use the one the hotel gives you. I just blew up my $250 hair dryer and it almost caught fire because the voltage is too high. When I told they front desk they were short with me as if I was to know that before coming. Every other hotel has been just fine with plugging things into any sockets.

Soho is within easy walking distance. The hotel rooms are clean, modern, and spacious. The staff was very professional and friendly. The hotel restaurant was good, but a little pricey. The marble lobby is quite attractive. Many eating and public transportation options within short walking distance. Stayed there just after New Year's and would definitely stay there again.

Rooms are good, beds are comfortable. Rooms are a bit tight, by American standards, but average for European I’d guess.
Tube from Heathrow to Leicester Square is painless. Once you’re there it’s close to a few tube stations, Embankment and Leicester square we’re what we used primarily. Used the water taxi once as well.

H. T.Least satisfying hotel experience I've ever had. Weird decor, stupidly designed room including a bathroom with the light outside the door and no tub, an issue with the air conditioning that shouldn't have been an issue, very very slow and poor customer service. I called for a pillow and they said, "We'll bring one right up" and when my husband inquired an hour later about the pillow we never received, they said, "Aren't there any in the closet?" Apparently, "We'll bring one right up" is code for "get it yourself from the closet that you don't know exists."
I'm very disappointed as this is supposedly a four-star hotel. Swanky bar downstairs, I guess, but the rooms are terrible and the service is patchy at best. I've had to have the air conditioning addressed three times in two days...this place is relatively clean (except for the mystery glob of something on our duvet) and the location is great. Otherwise, I'd spend your money elsewhere.
M. W.I didn't get the best of impressions right from the start, there was nobody at reception (really just a counter). A guy quickly turned up, but just pointed me in the direction of an automated check-in terminal, which wasn't much use as my room was pre-paid on a company account rather than my own credit card. I was then given a key card and pointed in the direction of the lifts... but wasn't informed that you need to swipe your key card in the lifts to make them work. Hey, I'm a poor northerner visiting for a couple of days, we don't have such fancy lifts.
Room a nice size, and clean, view of a brick wall about 4 foot away, but I'm only here to sleep anyway. Constant hum from some generator or air-con unit right outside, but it's quiet and I'll have no problems sleeping through it.

I have been to coming to London for almost 40 years and it is the first hotel in London that I have found that; is spacious, has staff that speak understandable English, that has a good shower, has a TV that you can hook up your phone and iPad to, that is a reasonable price. In addition it is well situated.

R. A.The hotel has a great location just next to charing cross station and trafalgar sq, there's a lovely bar downstairs which is a great place to start the night or for a more intimate drink. The rooms are generally clean and well maintained but a little basic. Late check out is £30 until 3pm.
t.Clean rooms, friendly staff. Don't call the front desk though as they seem angered every time they answer and will hang up immediately after answering a question wether you understood or not. I've had to call the front multiple times to figure out that I didn't have what I was supposed to have in my room, for example towels and and iron. The last first probably swiped them and our room was searched by the staff to make sure we didnt take it... A little offended but it over with and resolved... Right next to a lot of history in the city.

T. M.The Grand was having a ""drive"" at this time with really good prices on their rooms. The nearby Tube station at Embankment was less than ten minutes walk ensuring you are able to get where you want to go. The best part were the USB chargers for the phones since we forgot our converters at home.

The bedrooms are tired and fairly worn, basically below Travelodge standard. The varnish was flaking on the wooden dresser and bedside tables.
The rooms are quite noisy, but the bed was comfortable.
We went out for the evening and returned just before 11pm to find the bar fully closed and no room service. Not exactly what you expect from a hotel charging this price.
I was wouldn’t recommend or will be returning.
The only redeeming factor is the location is good.
G.I've travelled a fair bit and this was, in terms of accommodation, close to the worst I've experienced. Only the comfortable bed saved it.
We had a superior room and were staying for a week.
Pro's absolutely perfect location for exploring London.
Comfortable bed but due to the legs it was quite unstable.
Cons.
Lack of staff made queuing for check in a long process. We checked in an hour after it opened so didn't arrive early.
We were given our room key but on arriving found that the room had not been cleaned. The bed was left in a used state, towels laid on the floor, half a cup of coffee left, bins full.
We had to phone reception on our mobiles because the handset in the room didn't work.
It took 4 members of different staff over three separate visits to put the room right (not icluding the room cleaner) and to deliver us 2 paper cups, two glasses and to open the locked door on the kitchenette.
The toaster didn't work unless you held the button down.
Mind the pull up cupboards or you might get knocked out!
The room was very tired and in need of updating.
Being there for a week we did not want to be continually asking for more paper cups so we bought our own china in town.
There is no housekeeping although you can request this 24 hours in advance of needed it. Not surprisingly, we bought some toilet roll.
There is something seriously wrong with someones fire alarm. On the second to last night around 3am the alarm sounded in the rooms for a few seconds. It stopped but then did this another 2 times. Needless to say most residents made thier way downstairs using the fire exit only to be told by the night staff that it was next doors alarm that was playing up . hmmmm.
To summarise. In our case the description of a superior room couldn't have been further from the truth. A view? yes, we had one, of the air conditioning pipes surrounded by brick walls.
If you're staying for one night i'm sure with the comfy bed it's acceptable. I'll be choosing a trusty chain with the same comfy mattresses in the future.
Oh, we had a free breakfast due to the room not being cleaned, that was good. Service in the restaurant far too slow, went elsewhere so can't comment on the food.
I'm sure not all of the rooms can be as bad, at least I would hope not. Good luck!
