I have been coming and going to this hostel for 2 months now and to be honest it remains one of the best, I recommend it, whether you come for work or on vacation, the prices are the cheapest with a positive vibe. Having possibly met Khaled! He is too kind, and so patient, every time I come back I get a good welcome from him! super cool hostel I highly recommend it, and I'm still there now. It's the best hostel i've ever stayed in and will stay here every time i come to London from this point onwards. All of the staff that work here are the friendliest people you could possibly meet and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I had a problem with my booking and they calmly resolved it without stressing me out or demanding anything from me. The beds are also the comfiest i've come across in a hostel. and the location is amazing. highly recommend everyone to stay here

Great experience in this hotel. An incredible mood in the arrive with Emily who perfectly catch the feel We wanted to have in this place. Another excellent stay, perfect location for what I needed, tidy, and cheap, this is by far one off the better hostels I've stayed in, and I've been in a few on my travels, I think I spoke to a manager not to sure but polite and very helpful. Couldn't of asked for more.

The bathrooms are small but everything is quite clean. The rooms are nice but packed with three tier bunks so the bottoms can feel a bit cramped. Don't forget to bring your own padlock for the lockers in the room; they do sell some downstairs, though. Everything is a bit old and well used yet clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Area feels safe too.

It was bit of a shock to visit the hostel for first time. It felt cramped up. The reception was over-friendly. My room-mates were decent enough. I enjoyed the bar though. Breakfast was reasonably priced. I would have preferred if they had lunch and dinner services too. Lack of laundry room was inconvenient, which was overcome by visiting laundry-man. Full -on wifi was excellent. Friendly people, co-operating staff, etc... I would stay there again, if I don't find anything better

Stayed for two nights. The location is very good. The sheets and pillow covers were clean. The bathrooms are cleaned twice daily as well. The bunkbeds are crammed in. Three beds on top of each other leave you with no options other than lying down in the bed. I found charging point beside my bed which was good. The staff was welcoming as well.

“Convenient for travel, lovely staff and prices, but lacking in breakfasts! See you again sometime.” Good: This is such a great place to stay for when travelling through or to London. The cost of the stay is worth it, especially for the drinks at the bar! Clean facilities! The staff are also great who will be very helpful and welcoming, great to chat to and get on with! Bad: A higher variety of more breakfasts, maybe bacon, eggs and sausages would be nice. Some people woke me up with snoring, but it's cool, I was able to sleep. The grids outside the hostel smell pretty bad.

Decent. There are lockers in the shared rooms. Toilets and showers are clean. Staff are helpful and polite. But the overall atmosphere is a bit shabby and tired. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay its fine and in a good location.

Overall this hostel is fine for a temporary stay. The Location is great so close to bus and underground stops just walking for. Friendly staff and travellers within helpful being open to inform customers. Regarding the room, stayed in the 4 beds one, was ok. Old looking needing restoration but still fine. Toilets at least were always cleaned. You get what you paid for, cheap hostel. 👍👍

Very barebones backpack travellers hostel but friendly staff and chilled atmosphere. There are no towels or toiletries provided (or at least none I was aware of) so keep that in mind if you're planning to stay here. Bedding was clean and so was the bathroom. So for what it is and the very cheap price I paid at £14 I think it was for the night (plus a deposit of £10 you will get back when you check out) I think it was good value for money

Great price value. Close to central London (about 20-30 min walk) and just a couple of minutes away from the central line. Bathrooms a bit small and no hot water was available when I showered. Can't really sit on your bed without hitting your head on the top bed. Staff really friendly and nice. Nice atmosphere in the pub/reception.

This hostel is in an amazing location within London. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bar on the ground floor was lively and welcoming. The room was rather small, 6 person mixed dorm. Linens were hostel standard with a thin pillow. Bunk beds were creaky when anyone moved, waking up the whole room. The shower on the first day wouldn't stay on and seemed to run out of cold water, making it very hot. Overall a decent hostel with amazing staff and atmosphere.

The Phoenix Hostel had my back with great pricing and last minute booking when I needed a place to day same day as arrival. Staff were young and very easy going. Shoutout to Johnathan behind the counter- cheers to you. The less than 5-star rating is due to some of the sleeping conditions (loud snoring). Other than that, fantastic stay.

The rooms here we're clean and the beds comfy, and the place was all around clean. The main guy there was a tall skinny white guy named Scott (I think) and he was fabulous, stand up dude. The rest of the staff was kind of hit or miss on the friendlyness spectrum. It wasn't as social as I had hoped, as most of the people hanging around were staff members or regulars, but there was a bar with super cheap beer, so that was nice.

As you enter, it's very much a homely feel with laid back but professional staff. The rooms are painted a tardis blue and have their own keycards. The only downside was the cleanliness of the bathrooms in the morning after some horrific guests weren't able to aim correctly and the cleaner who didn't knock whilst I was changing and then didn't empty the bin properly. Other than that, a fantastic place to stay at a decent price.

First time at a hostel -- not a bad way to start. Rooms are nice enough; I split time between the 10- and 14-person rooms and both were fine. There are a bunch of bathrooms & showers, and they're all pretty clean (if a bit small, but it's not like you need them to be any bigger). The downstairs bar & lounge are great spots to meet people or just hang out, with cheap beer (& esp. delicious Guinness), breakfast in the mornings and good music throughout the day. Staff is top-notch: super friendly, easy to talk to, and knowledgeable about the city. Paul is the man, but everybody else is pretty cool too. All considered: great price, good people, convenient location (~3 minutes from tube station), and a nice place. would definitely stay again next time I'm around London.

The cuddly Irishman owner was quite nice. Big thanks to Regan for the hospitality. Located in Central London, with good transport links around it. The building is a bit old, and a result tatty and dusty, but this didn't detract from my experience. If you're looking for a no thrills hostel, with a good price, in a good location, this is it. If you want something a little more luxorious, then there are better places, but you have to pay more for it.

Found this place when looking for a beer after leaving the train station. Place is a bit spit and saw dust and grubby but I really liked drinking here as many people from all over the world to be found here to chat to. It’s all very friendly. As for the rooms I did see them and thought they rather tatty and run down. Prices also seem rather expensive to stay. Beer however reasonably cheap for a pint on London!!

Very nice staff. Very polite. Room vas a bit small for 3 bunk beds but it was alright because we only slept here. Everything was reasonably clean and enough showers and toilets so no major lines were forming. Probably going to stay there wherever I'm in London.

I really enjoyed my time at the Phoenix hostel. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I’ve been in a shared room for 6 and I always had a good connection to my roommates as they were open-minded and my age. This hostel has a 18-40 year old policy which I quite appreciate because as bagpacker you obviously can find very nice people to go out with and to just have fun with (as I did). I would recommend the Phoenix hostel to everyone who doesn’t set too high standards. It’s always clean and you feel secure at all times. However, the building is a bit old. You can also have a small breakfast buffet for £2. It's all very down-to-earth but you also have a microwave and a fridge in the lobby where you can storage all your food and can prepare ready meals. You cannot compare any other hostel’s prices with the Phoenix’s prices. The location is a big plus too. Totally recommend it.

Affordable, clean and with a very friendly staff that was eager to provide info. Loved the bar. Order a pint of equal parts Guinness and Cider (magic potion) if you know what's good! Bring adapter, padlock and towel. 5 pounds for an adapter is a little steep!

The place have a good location near to the backer street tube and even closer to edgware road station. The room are quite crowded, but the bed are comfortable. The Location is near to city center, about 1 mile from Hyde Park, the staff are helpful and cheerful, the pub/reception area is good to meet other travellers or to Chill out and watch TV, they offer a microwave and cutlery for a simple meal, the disadvantages are the 3 levels beds, which does not give enough height, so try to get the bed on top. overall I had a nice stay, and I would recommend it

The staff are all friendly & helpful. The lounge/bar area is basic, but has what I needed; tv, fridge, microwave, couches & beer. The bedrooms maybe a little small with not enough plug sockets, but they have lockers & the beds are quite big & comfortable. There were 3 bathrooms on my floor, I never had to wait. It's not the best hostel I've stayed in, but is far from the worst. But for what they charge I will stay here again. Ps the wifi works throughout the hostel & is free :)

Best place in London. I mean the prices are good, the facilities didn t disappointed me. You meet great people in a hostel and it feels like a place where you could stay for the rest of your life. About the staff I can say only nice things, they are great. Especially Caro and Mellisa, they are like fuego and ice and bring a lot of life in this place.

Clean facility with friendly front office and good access to the Edgar Train station. There is no kitchen, though there is kitchenette with a microwave oven and a fridge. There are cutleries and dishes that cleaned by the front office. They also offer breakfast at an affordable price. The washrooms appear inadequate in number to me and the rooms may benefit from electric socket outlets for charging phones and other devices. Otherwise, the facility offers a service commensurate with the price.

The Phoenix Hostel is hostel located above a pub. They have 24 hour reception, with discounts on beer at the bar for the residents. Breakfast is cheap at £1.50. The rooms can be kind of small with 12 beds to one room, but there are plenty of showers to share.

Per quanto riguarda la qualità si può dire che è la tipica qualità che si trova negli ostelli : bagni mediocri, letti che stanno su per grazia divina e armadietti per tenere gli zaini mezzi rotti e troppo piccoli per contenere valigie. In questo caso bisogna "semplicemente" fidarsi dei propri compagni di camera. Consiglio vivamente di portarvi dei tappi per le orecchie e una mascherina da notte.
