N. S.I wish I got to stay longer! The photo's really don't do the room justice.
We stayed in the roomy room, fish themed and wow!!! The bed is so comfortable, great room lay out, and I love how open it is. The shower/bath are very nice, double sinks and good pressure on the water.
The staff are very lovely and friendly. We got there slightly early so dropped our bags off and when we got back they were in our room waiting for us.
It's less than 5 minutes walk to portobello road market, but far back enough that it's not noisy. So lots of great options for nearby shopping and eating.
I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone and if you can stay longer than 1 night, I'd do so! I hope to come back again soon!
j. w.Wow! It is completely different from when I spent a week there, back in 1986! A whole hell of a lot has changed, but even back in 1986, this Hotel was so cool and extremely comfortable to stay in. I had a room at the very top. It was small but it was very comfortable. The service was outstanding back then and I'm sure it is even better now! It is a wonderful place to stay!!!
D. G.Overrated and not worth the money. Tiny shower room, poor heating, vintage-looking interior from photo turns out to be just shabby in real life. Don't spent over $100 for a room here. Sheets were good quality though.

We chose this place because of its proximity to the Portobello market - within walking distance. Beautiful rooms, knowledgeable and friendly staff, very quaint. Great ambience! Glad we chose to stay here instead of the typical hotel chain.

Be sure to request a tub to enjoy your very own spa experience. We were in the green room which had a small patio and staircase to a secret garden... shhh!
D. H.Wow, what idiosyncratic bedrooms. The tubing for our bath looked like something from Dr. Who! The beds were wonderfully comfortable, the hotel was all very comfortable. Only let down by the staff, who didn't really seem to know that they were there to help us.

s. y.Really classic Notting Hill experience spent at the Portobello Hotel with my lady. First we were greeted by such friendly and hospitable staff before being shown around the property and to our very charming Victorian style room. Small and cozy fitted out with all the necessities. Large bed with very comfortable mattress and quality pillows. On our first day we were even offered a complimentary bottle of Prosecco to mark the occasion of my 30th - lovely touch! Once again, first class service.. not to mention perfect west end location, and oh yeah: an Honesty bar in elegant setting. We would recommend this to anyone - especially couples.

We had room 6, convenient when you have big suitcases because it is on the ground floor. It overlooks a beautiful garden. The bathroom is spacious, with bath and shower. There is only one small sink but it is done very well! The hotel is in a very nice area and the staff is very nice.

C’est un hôtel discret, raffiné et typique du style et du charme anglais. La literie est incroyable et le petit déjeuner très bien. Nous avions la chambre 6, pratique quand on a de grosses valises car elle est au RDC. Elle donne sur un très beau jardin. La salle de bain est spacieuse, avec baignoire et douche. Il n’y a qu’un seul petit lavabo mais on s’y fait très bien ! L’hôtel est dans un très beau quartier et le personnel est très agréable.
