Overall good experience. Nice and clean hotel as I understand it is a newly furnished hotel. I appreciate the instant warm water out from the the tap every time I used it. Overall the room is quite small as compared to the other that I have stayed but it is sufficient and cozy for 2 adults. Around 5 mins walking distance from Elephant & Castle train station and is very easy to navigate your way with big and nice pathway. My room is facing right above the train tracks, however I have to comment that it did not disturbed my 2 nights stay at all. Overall Recommended👍

New hotel a little north of Elephant & Castle. It's away from the traffic of the main road, but does back into the railway, so train noise will annoy some guests. The room was spotlessly clean and a decent size, with a really comfy bed. Bathroom is adequate but be aware there is no hairdryer in the room, in line with the no frills policy, so remember to bring your own if required. A good budget option that is only 10 minutes from central London on the tube, and walking distance to a great selection of bars and restaurants in Borough and Bermondsey.

Very handy location, you know what you are getting in a Travelodge. I wasn't disturbed by the adjacent railway lines at all, great soundproofing! Staff really friendly and helpful. Can't fault the rooms.
Only reduced by one star as breakfast wasn't overly hot but still edible.

Had really nice stay in London. Good location just close enough to walk to the eye. There was also a lovely middle aged Caribbean lady that worked in the morning didn't get her name but she was nice lass (gave the kids an extra KitKat and hot chocolate 👍👍). Would have liked to be on a higher floor tho for the views, we booked well in advance so we were a little disappointed with the view. Room was fine tho, just your stranded modern Travelodge. Breakfast was fine all you can eat definitely worth getting. Would stay again.

This is a new hotel; it is in a good location, 2mins away from the Elephant and Castle underground station. It is in easy walking distance of Borough Market and the South Bank. The reception staff are polite and professional. I had a room on the 10th floor with a great view of the Shard. The room was a good size, as was the bathroom. The curtains were difficult to close properly, so light seeped in. Unfortunately the Ministry Of Sound night club is across the road, it opens at 22:30 and closes at 06:00, so choose your room carefully!

Quiet, clean, comfortable, central, nice views from 7th floor, good heating/cooling control - all we needed and affordable. Also booking worked perfectly and the staff were polite and helpful - rocked up after 11pm and were in the room in 3 minutes. Perfect.

My only complaint is that they didn’t have an ironing board available (had an iron though)
Unlike other travelodges I’ve stayed in recently, the internal sound proofing is excellent - no noise from doors closing etc…
Was on the 8th floor overlooking train station. Could hear trains, but the noise is dulled and it didn’t disturb my sleep
Great views as well

Just off the main road from Elephant and Castle and behind the Salvation Army office block is tucked away the brand new Travelodge Tower Block it offers all the regular Travelodge trimmings and depending on which floor your room is on you could get quite a good view of the city. Unfortunately there is a downside to this because on one particular side there is probably a just as good view looking. In from the residential block opposite so I would advise to keep the curtains closed when walking around in the starkers! Also the security guard/night concierge was a little bit too overzealous on his patrols

Nice and clean hotel with good size room. Sadly on first floor and when I asked for upper floor they said No. another thing was that they asked us to tell them the exact time we gonna come for breakfast which was odd. everything else was good.

We got family twin room. Staff helped a lot . Tasty breakfast. Nice hotel. Loved the environment. Great Café and bar. Very easy access to transport.

Within the very heart of central London, it provides all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Helpful and competent personnel. Special compliments to Kostas at reception. His kindness and calmness pervades the hotel.
Stunning view of the Shard and the rest of modern buildings of the city from the 10th floor!!!

Being brand new it was super clean, our room was great and had everything we needed with a super view of London.
Perfect for those that enjoy the nightlife with Ministry of Sound a 30 second walk away and Vauxhall easy to get to too. Default checkout was 12pm which was so much better than most hotels of the same price.
One of the lifts was broken during our stay so everyone in a 12 floor hotel had to go in one small lift. At busy times it was a little bit of a wait.

Set in a good location for exploring London.
We were lucky enough to have a room at the top of the Travelodge on the eleventh floor. The views from up there are amazing and the room was perfect for our mini break.
We opted for the breakfast which was very tasty and there was plenty there.
Definitely recommended.

Would definitely stay here again next time in London. Reasonably priced. New facilities. Well positioned for tube and everything South-bank. Perfect for our weekend away.

A great location, easy walk to a few bars and the underground. We had a good view as we chose to be in a room higher up and this may have meant the trains going by below were quieter. Considering they're right underneath, you could barely hear them!
The staff were really friendly and welcoming when we arrived.
Great that the rooms have air conditioning that can also be set to heat and many other options.
However I am only giving 4 stars as the bed was really uncomfortably hard so we didn't sleep very well and we put our sign out for the tea bags etc. to be topped up but they only changed the towels. Perhaps we were supposed to put them near the door to show we wanted that done too, but we didn't see any instructions for doing that.
They could also do with more lifts as at times it was impossible to get the lift!

No idea why others are complaining about service. The front desk staff and bar staff could not have been more warm, friendly, and helpful. The hotel is new and was quite clean! Was a perfect budget hotel stay for a weekend in London, very close to a lot of attractions. And not a bad view from our room!

For the room itself, I was going to give three stars. However, I have given five stars due to the outstanding customer service from Krystal who works in reception. Out of all of the hotels I have stayed in before, I have never come across the kind of customer service that Krystal provided me. She literally went above and beyond. Krystal is an absolute credit to the team at Travelodge. Thank you so much for your help during my stay.

Our stay was mixed. 1st thing first is that customer service was 5 star. All that I met over 3 days were welcoming. From reception staff to security and kitchen.
As for our room sadly the TV had damaged pixels so could not watch it. We were in a super room. Reception said there were no other rooms of same type so offered to move us to a standard room or we could have complimentary WiFi or drinks. We opted for the drink and we got pampered! So that was a nice alternative. As for the room itself spec was OK. Many chargers/USB and dimmable lighting. Air con in our room though was leaking upon turning it on. Had a coffe machine but could be a bit loud when operating. Shower could of been hotter and bit more pressure but not really an issue
Food: Breakfast was as expected. Its a 3 class ok so it's just OK. Has the usual English breakfast options. Plus unlimited soft drinks, coffee ect.
I see in other reviews that one of the lifts was down. Well that was still the case when we stayed. Seems like they not in a hurry to get fixed!
Overall we would maybe stay again. Its in a fantastic location. Close to Central London and public transport and affordable. If you don't want luxury then stay here. Remember this hotel is situated in elephant and castle so it's situated between a council estate and main road so if your not street wise and used to suburban life then maybe this hotel not for you. If not then stay somewhere else and pay a bit more.
Again 5 star for staff.

Great location, lovely rooms, however the breakfast is rather lacking. Our room was also very far from our children's room, but on the same floor at least.

Great location for ministry of spund. Budget, basic but all you need. Plenty of tea, great shower, comfy bed, clean room. Friendly staff
T. S.
Good clean accommodation. Close to tube station.
Definitely worth late check out fee.
Super rooms are on lower floors and bigger floor space but if you want a view of the city don't bother uograding

We arrived and our room was spacious, clean and fresh. The whole team was very friendly, especially the reception team. I can't fault this hotel, it's in an ideal location...only a three minute walk to the nearest tube station which takes you to central London within about 15mins. There's a Tesco express 5mins away, a whetherspoons and Nandos. Camden Market is 15mins away. The room itself had plenty of plug sockets and USB points, so no fear of not being able to charge electrical devices. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, and I would recommend to family and friends.

Easiest check in ever. Friendly staff. Took cash at the cafe (unlike Vauxhall). Clean room. Easy air con/ heating. Good size room too!

Amazing views and the people working here is amazing, we had the best stay here! Just to note, the breakfast is not anymore gluten free.

Obviously helps being recently new but have to say travelodge plus is a great improvement on the older normal version. much more like a premier inn in terms of room layout and quality. still the dribble showers though
K. C.
We stayed here for two nights, on the 8th floor, lovely clean room, friendly and helpful staff, central to all the sights of London. Definitely will be staying again.

Nice and modest accommodation ideal for a city trip or short stay. Some parts should be a bit cleaner tho
A. M.
Nice clean rooms and staff were absolutely lovely and made laugh! Great tucked away Travelodge in prime location!
T. C.
Would give it 5 stars but our super room number 215 had far too many corners to count. An interior designers' nightmare but accomplished.

One of the best travelodge hotels out there.
Exceptional service from Staff. Also I lost my iPad in the hotel. They found it for me after I left and they posted it to my address. Totally recommend!
A. H.
Very clean and comfy room apart from the desk chair. Great customer service.
D. C.
Very reasonably priced room for central London. I left my ear phones in my room when I checked out and the staff were very helpful in locating them! Highly recommended! 👍🏻
M. B.
Great newly refurbished travelodge. Unfortunately weekends next to ministry of sound club = load Bass until early hours even with good sound proofing windows!!
E. W.

Really, really nice travelodge at a really good price for London. 5 minutes walk from Elephant & Castle station. The SuperRoom was worth opting for.

Excellent location, immaculate clean, had everything needed and excellent value for money.
C. L.
The room was very small and although was newly decorated it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned as there were finger marks on the mirror and plaster dust all around the edge of the carpet.
S. S.
Clean, modern, spacious rooms and very quiet. 3 min walk from tube.
J. C.
Great new hotel. Good food. I had a fantastic view of the Shard.

(Translated) The place is very clean, nice for short stays.
But the beds are worn and spring-loaded so that some of them sit on them and get in your ribs.
They offer laundry service but the machines are always busy and they are coin operated.
The staff is nice and help make your stay comfortable.
Very safe place, and value for money $$$
Concept of shared rooms with bunk beds and shared showers. They do have a couple of semi private rooms though.
very good location
(Original)
