Easy access to the tube station, room lovely and clean. Our receptionist Doris was absolutely amazing, she went above and beyond to help both me and my sister. Only downside we couldn't get the heating to work, had to ask house keeper for the remote to use the heater and there was a tissue shoved in corner of the window to keep draught out. Other than that we enjoyed our stay xx

Staff were very accommodating, Receptionist had a very bubbly personality which shone through when speaking to guests. Room was clean, tidy & just right for us. Bed was extremely comfortable & had a great night's sleep. Had an awesome view of the shard which looks amazing at night. Would definitely stay again.

A very calm and clean environment. Nice and friendly staff. But didn't like the room next to train track as despite of the double glazed window you can still hear the train passing by Everytime which was a very frequent thing. But despite of this drawback, it was still worth the money. Located in a very calm area. Very near to Royal College of Emergency Medicine, recommend this hotel highly, especially for the people going for the exam in this college. Also the tube station very nearby.

For what they charge the good is that the room is a good size and the bed is comfortable. Its a small bath in the en-suite so don't know where my legs would go! However, there are no opening windows, I presume due to trains or other noise, there are hardly any cupboards or drawers to put things away and I found the room quite basic.
A. H.
Room was ok and modern, location is good. There was a nauseating smell in the ground floor and lobby areas which are yet to be renovated.
No instructions on the coffee machine and pressing the only button did nothing.

First off, what makes this review four star is the Gold Standard, five star staff. They will go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable and as personable as they can. They remember you from two years ago. Their welcome is friendly and sincere. They go to the nth degree to make your stay easy and memorable for all the right reasons. Cannot praise them highly enough. Hotel is very basic. Comfortable bed. Adequate Shower. Clean. Secure. Central. Great value for money in London. But reason for loss of star is my personal bugbear - why do these hotel chains never have coat hooks for your outerwear. And no drawers to put personal items out of site. Luckily plenty of room to use suitcase flat on floor as a drawer. How difficult/expensive would it be to make these couple of changes and up the customer's experience.
L. M.
Five stars just for Doris, she's such a lovely , welcoming person, great with children too.
The rooms are clean which for me is always a concern when booking budget hotels but I'm pleased that the room was spotless.
The hotel is ideally situated for easy access to the tube (less than 5 minute walk). The area itself is quiet and we felt safe.
We would use this hotel again.
Ps. Avoid the lift, only one was in operation during our stay so it's in heavy use from the first and top floor, anything in the middle doesn't get a look in. Just use the stairs!
F. P.
Lovely spot, easy to get to, all standard stuff in the room and great considering the price. Staff were lovely and accommodating, especially Doris at the front desk :)
L. F.
The bad. The bathroom smelled of stale urine and the bottom of the toilet hadn't seen a good scrub in a while.
The good. Ever-so-friendly and very accommodating staff especially Doris 😀 We loved her crazy banter and the fact that she was always up for a laugh with the guests (especially us) made it a worthwhile stay. The breakfast was excellent. Great fuel to start the day. They have an app that can get you a taxi outside within a matter of minutes. All-in-all, definitely worth the stay.

Great location and price. Comfortable rooms with plenty of space and floor length windows. The toilet was not the greatest though. convenient entrance for access in and out of the building without feeling like the reception is watching your every move which can be annoying sometimes and friendly staff members. Wish there was a charger by the bed however

Stayed here out of convenience rather than choice. After a long journey it was frustrating to find my room key didn't work- an issue with the system! Basic room also built with convenience, rather than comfort, in mind. Budget hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Weird cigarette smoke smell in my bathroom.
L. S.
Good spot hotel for where we wanted to be, clean rooms , nice buffet style breakfast with friendly staff. Our only complaint was the room wasn't very warm .
J. M.
This is a very basic hotel, I had never stayed in a Travelodge before so I'm not sure how it compares. However the floor of my room was in dire need of a clean, it looked like it hadnt been vacuumed in a while. The bathroom also had a lot of limescale. The location is ideal being so central but there are train tracks alongside two of the sides of the building which I hadnt realised. Luckily the room is pretty well soundproofed as trains are going past every couple of minutes.
C. P.
You get what you pay for. Basic, clean and old fashioned. Great location for walking to central London. Don't get a room by the railway line .
G. G.
The staff here are lovely and ensure you have everything you need and are ready to help you out.
We were at the back facing the Shard, which was lovely. We had one of the larger rooms which are perfect for 2 people.
My only moan would be you can hear the trains from 5/5:30am, but I suppose you can hear these all around central London.
I will definatly return...
M. C.
The location is fantastic for visiting Central London - 3 minutes walk from Southwark tube station, then a few minutes on the tube train to Westminster. The area around the hotel is a very pleasant part of London – a short walk to the south bank of the Thames with numerous things to see and do. The hotel room was a little bit scruffy, the carpet hadn't been vacuumed properly, one lift was out of order, but did it really matter? No. Brilliant value, great location.
J. H.
Nice and clean, we had a family room for 4 of us which was fine. Kids had there own beds which was better. Close enough to places. A good place to stay if your visiting the London Eye and that area.
J. B.
Great little hotel. Perfectly placed for what we wanted to do in town for a couple of days. Friendly staff, good breakfast too and surprisingly quiet considering our room over looked the train line.. Shall return
D. D.
Stayed 1 night, room was clean and basic breakfast average ,in a good location plenty of places to eat and drink nearby tube station 3 minutes away.
M. P.
The hotel has a really good location very close to Southwark tube station and about a 10 min walk to Waterloo. While the hotel is good value for money being in central London, there are a few drawbacks:
- there are no electric plug sockets by the bed!!! (this is a fairly major flaw, hello 21st century)
- the hotel is quite noisy still after 10 pm and the Aircon makes noises even when switched off
- food is OK, but nothing amazing
Shout to Doris at reception, she's lovely
V. K.
5 stars!! Perfectly clean. Very friendly staff. Helpful. Super quick check in. Iron made immediately available. Incredibly priced. Great location if working in Southwark like myself. Great tube access I couldn’t expect anything more and will 100% return. Perfect and delivers
A.
Hard to beat location for exploring the local area. Loads of restaurants, pubs and markets within walking distance. Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Rooms basic but comfortable.
S. A.
Perfect for what was paid. So close to the tube both Waterloo and Southwark. Amazing pub opposite, the Lord Nelson, food is delicious. The only downside to the stay was the lack of cleaners or towel changes but we were told they’d prefer guests to ask specifically at reception. Apart from that no issues!
L. O.
It was a good stay rooms good but know taxis near if you have show to go to underground is only 2 mins away no hairdryers in room nice restaurants by
T. C.
Excellent hotel, can't fault it! Clean, comfortable rooms with air conditioning.
Perfect breakfast with great variety to choose from. Friendly, cheerful and very attentive staff. Doris on reception is exceptional! Will definitely return here and recommend to all.
G. R.
Great travelodge clean and tidy. Friendly happy staff. Very close to tube.
A. L.
The Personell was super friendly, kind and always had an open Ear. The Standard was very high and the Breakfast was delicious. I can recommend it.
S. B.
Nice little hotel, tucked away in Southwark. The staff are the reason it's 5 stars, absolutely great staff, helpful and friendly - they couldn't do enough for me.
M. B.
Stayed 2days on the 7th floor ,train lines on 2sides of the hotel but we didn't even notice ,great location for walks in the city ,we walked miles on them 2days and felt safe in the area , room was large for 2adults and 2teenagers ,only thing was no extra tea ,coffee,or milk put into the room on second day .
N. R.
Excellent value for money for London. Not the best quality, but fresh clean bedding with good size bed and family room was not cramped.
m. m.
Defo go again very clean and tidy local to all amenities and transport... Recommend menus to suit all ie gluten/wheat/dairy free+vegan
B. B.
Good place. We only needed it during the day. Staff were helpful.
Reception was on 1st floor not ground...abit wierd
J. P.
Reasonable priced. Would recommend but for the time I've been there no one change anything (bed sheets and towels) in the room witch was a bit disappointing
J. C.
Very friendly staff one lady called Doris really professional always making me laugh..very clean hotel would definitely stay here again, and recommend to family and friends to stay.
b. e.
Nice cheap place .clean enough and the bar stays open till late. easy too get to places of interest tube is 2 mins away
C. R.
Excellent, Dee and Nasa went out their way to help us during our stay.
Clean comfy rooms, with good facilities and easy reach if the tube.
Very good breakfast which is well stocked and organised.
Will be staying there again.
S. M.
Great staff and usual breakfast quality but the rooms are tired and the heating is a plug in heater
A. M.
Clean tidy and no pillow stains.... I would definitely like to add the customer service that I received was outstanding!... Fast and efficient but not rushed... I normally stay in 4star plus but this hotel is not a bad match... Bed is comfy and room is chilled before arrival... Well done Travelodge Southwark 👍🏻
A. P.
I had a 3 night stay in this hotel during this summer with my family.
Pros:
Very good location, right at the centre of London just next ro southwork tube station.
Very friendly staff specially the receptionist, she allowed us to extend our check out time by 1 hr.
If u are a turist and want to explore central London then this is a good option.
Cons:
No room service or maintenance. Even you have to collect t-bag and sugar by yourself from the reception.
Condition of the rooms very average with limited facilities.
K. H.
Nice location, parking limited. Only 2 plugs in the room away from the bed.
C. d. S.
My room was so tidy and clean. The shower was amazingly strong.
s. c.
Great location to visit places in London and when our room had a few problems they upgraded us to another with no fuss
N. G.
All good. Does what a Travelodge requires & at £30 on a Sunday it is not a hard sell.
A. S.
I stay regularly here for work and I have always had a comfortable nights sleep.
d. j.

R. D.
Clean, cheap, good location and a cracking breakfast..but get down early as breakfast Gets busy by 9
J. P.
This place, especially the toilets needs a little more cleaning. So are the extractor fans- clogged and dirty. This Travelodge isn't much wow.
N. W.
Had a wonderful time at the hotel. Lovely and clean and the staff were so friendly, especially Doris!
We would definitely stay here again.
K. M.
Oh my goodness what can I say! I was nervous of travelling after the pandemic. We arrived and every member of staff we met were lovely, attentive and so helpful. Our room on the 7th floor was lovely, comfy and clean. A great coffee machine and complimentary bottle of wine.
I will definitely be back and will recommend you yo everyone.
H. C.
The hotel was OK. The rooms are well sound-proofed, you can't hear any of the trains that go by. The bath had stains. The breakfast wasn't bad, lots of choice. The main thing for me was that the location was quite good for the price of the hotel, there's a few 24 hour shops nearby, lots of pubs and it's close to a few landmarks. Overall a pleasant stay.
M. H.
Very warm, comfortable and clean at a reasonable price as well.
G. C.
We only stayed here for a night, but the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and we enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep.
N. C.
Great service and friendly staff who are as accommodating as staff of much more exclusive establishments. Breakfast offering and value is excellent, replenished frequently and hot.
General cleanliness is good throughout the hotel, but the Bathrooms could do with improvements, such as replaced shower curtains frequently and deep clean on tiles.
A. B.
How fantastic it was to stay here. Wonderful professional staff who went above and beyond the call of duty. Nice clean comfy rooms. Has everything you need. Perfect possibly a little pricey but 70 metres from the tube and less than 200 metres from Tate modern and the Globe etc.. it was great
c. s.
Convenient location. Good breakfast which was good value. Clean and tidy room and helpful staff. Had one of the new super rooms. Having staid here a few times in normal rooms can't say the differences made it super. Only down side was that shower curtain however placed allowed water to end up on the floor. Will use again.
T. M.
The location is the primary strength of the hotel. Around 100 meters walk from the Southwark Underground. The rooms are fine and toilet is acceptable. The breakfast is quite good. However, I am not thrilled with the service of the front …
S. C.
Lovely stay. Busy place, especially checking in, but the wait was never onerous. Loved the cool naturally flavoured water available on tap as you waited. The staff were friendly and helpful. I want to commend the receptionist Doris, who went above and beyond with her excellent customer service. Great location, central to all amenities. Good value for money, clean and comfortable. The cooked breakfast was excellent value, kids eat for free, very fresh and plentiful. Would stay here again, see you next time!
A. P.
Room spaceous and clean, with iron and ironing board already in the room. Bed was comfy enough, however the hotel itself is near the railway lines so you will hear the trains going back and forth at all hours albeit wasn't that noticeable. All in all a great stay for my business trip
L. H.
Doris was so lovely and very helpful! Big thank you to her! Nice clean rooms with excellent view!
s. m.
highly recommend this hotel, stayed for one night and was very pleased with the service and the room, so clean and nasa was a massive help and was so nice and professional. will definitely be returning
L. H.
Had a wonderful stay here on a busy Saturday night for the Landmark Half Marathon
The staff were amazing and went out of their way to help us, especially Dorris.
R. C.
Friendly helpful staff located 2 minutes from Southwark tube station. Took us a couple of minutes to find the reception as its actually on the first floor. Restaurant a little on the small side and gets busy for breakfast but staff kept the tables clear and food well stocked. Lost a star mainly because a bag of rubbish was left in our room but promptly removed by the cleaner when we made her aware. Was in a super room so had coffee machine etc in the room but didn't use much as we were too busy exploring the city. Fantastic service even looking after our bags after checkout so we didn't have to lug them around with us on the hottest day of 2019 so far!
O. O.
London is quite pricey so sure, I can't demand too much, but we asked for soap cause it was out and after two days it was still not refilled. Small rooms, but clean enough. No room service. Good location. Decent breakfast (but not if you're allergic, what you see is what they have). I would come back but if I find something else for the same price in a similar location I'd consider that.
S.
Best service I have ever encountered at a hotel. We stayed a week, and every member of staff was friendly and helpful. We booked because Travelodge is pet friendly, and we will be back even when we are not travelling with our dog. Our room was very large as well and had a great view of the Shard. The location is also great, you can walk easily along the south bank and encounter many of the sites London has to offer.
L. K.
The receptionist was so lovely and friendly. Nice hotel. Shame some other young guests were very noisy with loud music and lots of banging. Other than that I couldn't fault it.
A. b.
Location was great. For a very reasonable price most of London attractions are within walking distance. The hotel itself is very basic, the pillows at the hotel are very uncomfortable and the duvets are incredibly thin. The room and bathroom were clean and neat and the hotel was quiet in despite of the fact that it's right next to a railway which was impressive. Check in staff lacked customer service however the clerk in the morning was very friendly. Overall we don't think we will be staying there again but if you're looking for a good location on a budget then it may be worth considering. Breakfast was mediocre and there's plenty of cafés around so we would suggest visiting one of those.
P. N.
Very nice budget hotel. You get the basics and no more. Bed is comfy and the shower works (plus free shower gel is nice). The bathroom fan in the room could not be turned off which meant the was a quiet rumble all night but it's hardly noticeable. Hair dryer available from reception, but my guess is there limited numbers so hope you don't need it when everyone does! Staff are very nice. Didn't try the restaurant.
V. T.
Stayed for 3 days, room service did not step in the room at all, did not even retrieve the iron I borrowed on first day. Staff was very friendly however. Room was ok in regards to space and clean enough, bed was comfortable as well. A/C in the room was directly above the bed, which is never optimal. Finally, no free WiFi service in 2020
C. E.
Really nice place, neat, affordable and easy to access.
J. R.
Had a fantastic stay from 31st August -3rd September. Family room with really comfy king size and 2 proper single beds. Lovely and clean with plenty of fresh white towels. The staff were lovely, everyone of them friendly and helpful. We arrived early and was given the option to leave our luggage for free or pay £10 and check in early. Our room had a railway line behind but you not have know. The windows were fixed shut and an air conditioner has been fitted, so no noise and a nice cool room to come back to. The location is fantastic, tube station 2 minutes walk away and blackfriars bridge just round the corner for a great meander along the South Bank. 10/10. Will definitely book again.
T.
I've stayed here a couple of times now: the rooms are always clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Really well situated as only a short walk to the tube and there's a handy convenience store next door.
M. H. (.
An epitome of 'okay'. After our first room smelled overpoweringly of air freshener (or carpet freshener) our second room was only a bit better. The bed is okay. Some rooms are about ten meters from a train track, but the double glazing is pretty good. The wifi is okay, but not great. The breakfast is a bit dry and the dining room is crowded... But okay. The staff seem to be working hard for customers, and are the best part about the place.
Apparently there are upgrades in progress, but currently (August 2017) this isn't a hotel I'd rush back to. It's not so bad that I'd avoid it, especially for short stays, but if there are other options in a similar price range then I'll be looking at those carefully.
Overall: Not terrible, but on the low side of adequate.
J. C.
This hotel was fantastic for what we needed. It's certainly a budget hotel but it's super comfortable, the staff were all extremely helpful, and the location was amazing. About a two minute walk to the underground station and only a ten minute walk to the Thames. We would definitely stay here again.
Dean, the manager, was always around and eager to help. Super friendly and helpful.
A. G.
Friendly staff so far, room tidy and reasonably quiet. Shower pressure just fine on 4th floor. Telly worked.
N. J.
The one night that we stated here was a good experience. The hotel room was clean and as represented. Checking in and out was efficient and we ere well greeted by the desk staff. We had access to all the amenities described on their website. The best were comfortable. Best of all, it was well placed and was reasonable priced for our short stay needs. there are many great restaurants in the area as well as local pubs to grab a drink. Also, the restaurant/bar staff was very friendly and accommodating. They kindly provided us with wine glasses and a bucket of ice for our drinks.
T. C.
The stay wasn't that great. We were moved more than once as they had made a mistake. Finally got a room only for my friend to use a camp bed which was uncomfortable and she fell out of. Then the cleaning was done poorly. The receptionist were not nice apart from just a few. The breakfast was the only good consistant thing there, if staying for more than three days can become boring. All in all wouldn't go there again, rather spend more just to be treated better.
A.
The superooms are very nice and modern (they are newly refurbed) well equipped, leaving you no need to request anything from reception. They even have a coffee machine so you can get some decent coffee before leaving your room.
Lobby and lifts etc look a bit stark and unwelcoming.
No hand-wash in my room the whole time I was there even though they made my room up everyday (thankfully there was plenty of shower gel).
The standard rooms here are beyond basic and quite old and worn out. Not even a hairdryer is provided and you have to go down to reception to borrow one.
F. S.
Overnight stay. Quick and easy check-in. The room was very clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities plus a flat screen television with local and national channels.
After checking out, there is a secure room where luggage can be left until you leave the area.
Thanks to Doris and the rest of the team.
Lovely people giving genuine service.
P. J.
Standard Travelodge, comfy bed, clean and well kept room. I had breakfast and dinner both nights. The food was good and the staff at the bar/restaurant were really welcoming and helpful. The reception staff were also really helpful and I'd happily stay there again. The Travelodge is a 2 minute walk from the tube with a great bar across the street.
T. P.
The hotel is in a very nice area. Near the tube, near the market, but not in the crowded areas. Easy to get to the centre. The room was fine and clean. Comfy bed. Good prices too.
B. L.
Stayed overnight on business, the receptionist Doris was absolutely brilliant and I wish I felt this welcome at all the other hotels I stay at. The fruit infused cold water was a perfect in the hot weather!
Reading other reviews regarding Aircon, noise etc. I think it varies room to room, my room was good and no complaints! Yes additional sockets might have been useful but I still managed to charge my 2 phones, tablet and laptop!
A. L.
Good location.
Doris on reception is possibly one of the best receptionist ever. Had paid extra for early room but never got in it until 1.55, she was so good to us during the wait.
Disappointed that room not serviced this morning and no more tea, milk etc put in room. All the room people did was remove the sign asking for room to be cleaned. Maybe have to get super woman Doris to over see that as well.
See what happens tomorrow.
J. S.
Good location, near Waterloo Station, within walking distance to good food and pub locations. Excellent pub for food and drink across the road. Fairly good value for money, room was fairly clean and stocked with basics. However, shower was disappointing and quite dirty. Tea and coffee making facilities were in the room. Very basic service. Only one plug socket in room, far away from bed. Seemed to provide low power, phones took almost 6 hours to charge, much longer than at home. Our room was next to train tracks. Wasn't too noisy, but you could hear them. The air conditioning would make noises every 30 minutes or so, which was quite loud and disrupting. Bed was very comfortable, but duvet had been put on the wrong way and was falling out of its cover. Overall, got to sleep and visit where we wanted to visit, but room wasn't great.
c. s.
Great location, usually very reasonably priced in comparison to other London hotels. I have stayed here several times in the past few years and my only real complaint is that the lifts are very small so if several guests are leaving or arriving at the same time you might have to wait. Also worth noting that Reception is on the first floor. That means that if your room is not on the first floor, checking out can be a bit more time consuming than you might like as you'll have to stop off at the first floor before you leave.
A. “. W. S.
Great location hotel a little run down
B. F.
The first room we were given was not serviced and was fairly dirty. The front desk was quickly able to give us a new room. Decent hotel, WiFi is a couple pounds for 24 hours.
J. J.
Thanks Paula, she gives a very sincere and helpful check-in service to us. Rooms there are more than comfortable, spacious, clean and new. Convenient location and shops nearby are within walking distance. If the selections of food for breakfast can be more. it will be perfect.
S. M.
The lovely helpful friendly staff are what makes this place 4 stars, but really the actual room is 3 stars. Anyone with long hair that needs drying, take note that although they have hairdryers for you to borrow they are terrible so would suggest bringing your own. The room was quiet however, and comfortable. There are no rooms with windows that open. Very handy for nipping around London though - 2 mins walk to Southwark and 8 mins walk to Waterloo for all other lines and overground. I would stay here again for a reasonably priced comfortable & functional place to stay. Also felt secure as a solo traveller as every level you had to use your key card to get into in addition to your room.
R. C.
Decent value for money hotel. Very good rooms and very well maintained. A 24 hour Bar which is always a good thing in London. The breakfast served was well priced however some of the food could do with some help.
S. P.
This is great actually. The rooms are fine, food (& wine) was very good, and there is a Tesco store on the ground floor if you've forgotten your toothpaste.
I have a few nights booked and would definitely stay again.
K. P.
Great location. Friendly and welcoming staff at reception greeted me gave me some sightseeing tips. Standard room, clean and tidy. Close to underground subway and lots of places nearby to eat/drink. Great value for money.
D. M.
Found myself stuck in London during the snow, and Travelodge came to our rescue. Online order was easy, my wife rung to confirm I could arrive before her which was not a problem, and when I arrived reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and well presented, with an expresso coffee machine in room, good powerful shower, and very comfortable bed. We did not have food, but menu looked very good, and some items (including pizzas) were available all night. Price was also very reasonable for such a prime location. Will definitely consider using again if in London and don't want to run for the last train. Thanks Travelodge.
G. C.
Excellent staff, very friendly & understanding. Concierge immediately offered our exhausted children a kitkat upon arrival. Very large room, nice & quiet. Food was also ideal for feeding kids with minimum fuss.
P. M.
Staff are lovely, kind and courteous. Bathroom fan does not turn off. All night. In the whole hotel. Hence the worst night's sleep! Nice breakfast and comfy bed, but that noisy fan was awful. Also, the tap is on backwards so hot is cold and vice versa.
S. P.
Stayed here several times and is OK and near to where I need to be. Rooms normally very basic, however just stayed in one on 6th floor and this was much better, with comfy chair, coffee machine and biscuits for a change. Don't know if it has all changed or just these rooms. I'll see next time
A. A.
Friendly staff, comfy stay.Hotel Manager Mr Rebel was so cooperative,He made our stay so smooth,He is best in his position. He is a very kind.I had parking issues. He cooperated very well and resolved our issue.Def recommend this place.Definitly will be staying again.
B.
Easy to find, close to transport, close to convenience shops. Only a 7 minute walk from the club we were going to. Friendly staff, comfy bed.
Would have been good to have a hook by the door for coats. There were no drawers, but it didn't matter for us staying only one night.
I. K.
We do not need anything more that this hotel offers. There is a lovely reception staff. Fantastic !!!!Clean beddings and towels , the location is perfect we couldn't ask better. The cleaning standard is close to poor, the carpet was hoovered but it was dirty ,sticky ,needed washing , railings in the bath covered with black dirt and the shower curtien yellow and pink down the edge. All of it will not put me away to stay there again.
J. D.
Good hotel with very quiet rooms for the location (we asked specifically on arrival for a quiet room).
The main downside was that when we arrived (late night), we had to buzz the reception from the street some 30 times before we were allowed inside. We also couldn't find a telephone number to call through to the reception. Eventually we were allowed in and the gentleman on the reception was very helpful.
Bed was comfy, room was quite small but clean.
Very few socket outlets in the room.
t.
Basic hotel. Smooth check in, friendly staff, clean rooms and pretty comfortable beds. Location was great, a minute walk to nearest tube station and about 25min walk to the center of London. Plenty of restaurants, pubs & coffee shops around as well . Breakfast could be better. I liked my stay here, nothing to complain about.
C.
Just had couple of nights at Southwark travelodge...staff couldnt have been more helpful....and a special shoutout to Doris the receptionist...you were fab !!!!!
K. K.
Room 727, spacious family room on the top floor. Some noise from outside but generally quiet. Room was spotless and the reception staff were lovely, shame the same can't be said for the breakfast staff... what a bunch of grumpy and rude people! Breakfast was chaos but the food was nice, as was the dinner in the evening.
C. G.
Clean rooms, unclean bathroom. No windows, have to entirely depend on AC which is not a good option for people like me who likes fresh air in room. Also does not provide drinking water in rooms which is a big let down. Otherwise a decent hotel, on the expensive side but that is due to a superb central location.
H. C.
Service at reception was great. Unfortunately as we made our way to our room, there was sick stains on the floor and the builders had left a mess. The room we had smelled almost damp, although the room our parents had next you us was fine. The location was great for the bits of London we wanted to see and the tube station was very close to the hotel.
D. B.
Great location. Good view from the 6th floor.
B.
Fairly typical Travelodge. Room is fine. The A/C not great. Battery in control was dead! Quite a nice view but close to railway so fairly constant train noise. Breakfast was OK.

Clean hotel and room. I guess you could say it was basic but everything worked so I'd say it was practical. Room was on the fourth floor and slept well with no obvious outside noise. Forgot to ask for a hairdrier at reception as there wasn't one in the room. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was fine and being a buffet was plentiful. There was no mustard at breakfast when I asked but as I'm the only person I know who likes that with Breakfast that's not a big surprise! Location was great and a short walk from the river and local bars and restaurants such as Wahacca. Would stay again.
J. C.
Was there for only 1 night but the receptionists were both lovely and were happy to chat. The room was very pleasant and a perfect place to come back to. It's a very short walk from the centre of London with an Underground station very close by
j. g.
Very helpful staff. Clean, well equipped rooms. Good breakfast. Expensive bar but in line with London prices. Good place for a short visit base.
B. M.
This is an average at best hotel, not worthy of more than 3 stars at best. Upon checkout the girl at the desk insisted we give no less than a 9 out of 10, it was uncomfortable with her pressuring us to say it was something it's not. Would look for somewhere else if we were to return to London.
S. F.
A hotel where you cannot open your window. No fresh air. Our climate control did not work, which was not bad as the air it uses is the same as in the room. The bed was comfortable. But price/quality is far from reasonable.
J. K.
Comfy beds breakfast was lovely stuff was brilliant rooms were clean
N. R.
Excellent location for walking around central London. Right beside tube station. Basic budget hotel. Staff are so friendly and helpful couldn't ask for better nothing is a problem to them. Comfy beds. All in all good stay
N. N.
I really liked this hotel. It felt like a home from home. Nice and clean. They had a coffee maker and kitkats in the room. A useful iron and board, as well as a hair dryer and tv. Restaurant was great value, two courses for £12. Breakfast was a nice buffet. I recommend.
R. b.
The room was alot smaller than expected but it was somewhere to sleep and we had a great time in London
J. S.
If you want to stay at a hotel away from the noise, but close to places you can visit, I recommend this one. You can easily get there by the tube and even by bus from the airport. Standard rooms, but comfy and clean. The breakfast is good. Make sure you log in to the right WiFi, by the way.
M. R.
Great value room with brilliant transport access. I stayed here n one of the superior rooms on the 7th floor. It was warm, light with a great bed and shower. Really doubt it could be beaten up n London for under a £100
By the way receptionist was lovely and very welcoming
Highly recommended.
K. T.
We found the hotel easily, just a 2 min walk from Southwark tube station. Check in was busy but staff were very friendly and efficient. We had a superior room as we travelled with our 3 year old. The room was spacious and had a pod coffe machine which was a nice touch. Would stay here again.
M. R.
Second time we have stayed here and we were disappointed without our latest stay. Breakfast was great as usual and the staff at reception were welcoming and friendly. Hotel is clean and new super rooms are well equipped if you get one where everything works. We were in the very top corner of the hotel and it was silent apart from the odd train late at night. However we had a broken coffee machine that was not fixed within the 24 hours after we notified reception. It wasn't even looked at, as the water that leaked was exactly the same as when we left it. The windows (on the 7th floor) can not be opened AT ALL. This resulted in condensation over night which made a pool of water drip on to a few important documents we left on the desk. We also had no handwash in the dispenser during either day of our stay. Reception was very apologetic and promised an email regarding a voucher which we have not yet received 12 hours after we left the hotel.
D. A.
Great location and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s a pretty standard budget hotel, clean, tidy. Breakfast is ok - large batches of sausage, eggs, beans, etc. With toast and cereal available. The juice looks radioactive and filled with sugar.
M. H.
Short walk from underground opposite the easy to spot Lord Nelson pub. Very small entrance and have to go to first floor to find reception. Rooms tidy and well presented as you would expect if you regularly use t'lodge. Did try the breakfast on site as the café next door was closed for some reason, standard fare, seemed a bit hectic but for London is reasonable value for money. The pub over the road does good food in the evening and is welcoming . Hotel location next to several very busy rail lines but sound insulation is very good considering and had a great sleep both nights we stayed. Will definitely use this one again
M. A.
I paid for a superroom...the room was pretty but thats a given standard in other budget hotels...the lavazza coffee machine waa dirty... someone decided it would be a good idea to fill the shower gel dispenser with water..considering only staff can access it that was poor. Two pillows hadnt been washed...i could see someones maacara markings.. and the duvet had a red stain. Had I not had an exam and was here for pleasure Id want a refund. I didnt have time to complain. The trains will keep you up after 5. Overall t was a comfy bed definitely not a superroom in the grand scheme of things. Im assuming this is how theyre paying to redecorate the hotel in general.
m. h.
Stayed for one night for work. First allocated room, the Aircon not working, so went to reception ( pleasant enough lady) and was reallocated another. Thing was she knew the Aircon wasn't working in my room. Second room , checked and although there was duvet etc, no sheet on the mattress protector, very strange. So a trip back to reception. Not quite as pleasant second time but was immediately onto the job. Cleaning supervisor put sheet on himself. ( Very nice bloke). Didn't know the area so was surprised that the train line issue within 50 yards of my bedroom window and trains clearly heard at all times. Disabled room ( not disabled) so not sure about the quality of the other bathrooms. Relatively poor transport links back into London north side. As last minute, I paid 199 for the room and breakfast, absolutely not worth it. Can't recommend sorry. People pleasant enough but location and facilities lacking.
T. M.
I enjoyed my stay quite a bit in this Travelodge Southwark Hotel. The room was large and clean, with a separate seating area. I think the couch folded out. The beds were nice. The linens were clean and soft. The breakfast was excellent, with fresh cooked eggs, bacon, and full-size yogurt cups for the taking, in addition to the usual cereal and pastries. I think the hot tub was salt water; it was pretty nice to soak in after a long day at the track.I will return. It's a little expensive, but it's totally worth it.!
A.
Good hotel to stay. We stayed for 1 night and the room was clean and good. The bed was ok and the metro station outside is not really loudy. The only thing that bothered us is the water from the bathrooms. When someone in another room is using water, you hear a hard noise which is really annoying. Breakfast was good, we had the light breakfast because we didn't like sausages blegh
M. B.
Brilliant hotel, conveniently placed for visiting attractions on tge South Bank but within walking distance of the Tower of London, the Monument and St. Paul's. Public areas and my room were quiet and scrupulously clean. Book a super room on 7th floor if you can afford it - great deals if you book early.
K. E.
This is a comfortable and friendly hotel in a great position to launch into London.
Our room was OK. Had some issues with cleaning and getting fresh towels plus a smelly bathroom. Reception and bar staff vert obliging and happy. Good value for London.
K. D.
Good location for work purposes, slept very well in comfortable bed despite pub being opposite. Traffic noise and light pollution barely registered in my main road facing room. Wet room floor suspiciously slippery when wet but I didn't fall over. Towels, bedding and general cleanliness of the room all very good. Hideous tea and uht milk however.
L. W.
Good location, a short underground ride to most major attractions for a reasonable price. Clean, spacious rooms without any major bells and whistles. One of the bed side lamps didnt work and neither did the shower humidity exhaust.
S. G.
We stayed 1st to 3rd of August. Able to drop bags before check-in.
Very friendly staff, clean room with plenty of room for the 4 of us. We have a 13 & 10 year old. Breakfast was good, plenty of it.
Great value for money.
M. P.
The hotel is situated in a good place.only a short ride into London. The room was a good size.not the cleanest but towels were changed when they had to be and the beds were made.a hoover would have helped and the toilet needed some ajax down it.The breakfast was nice.overall a good stay
R. J.
Very helpful, friendly staff. They bent over backwards to help. Very wheelchair friendly.
It's ideal for visiting the sights. If you have a car which is for your disability, they allow you to park it in thier lockup.
The super rooms are just brilliant with everything a wheelchair user needs.
K. W.
Room was clean, although having 3 beds just for one person was overkill. Check in process efficient and nice to pay on arrival to skip check out.
Breakfast is a let down, service was slow, food running out, all coffee machines out of order, stuff hiding in the kitchen.
S. K.
The room was clean and the employees were friendly. We needed a taxi to get to the int'l train station in the morning. The front desk promptly called for us and it arrived within 10 mins. The breakfast was very good. They seem to be quite understaffed. At times there was no one attending the front desk and no way to get in touch with at the front desk , such as in an emergency. Where was a phone? In the evening, the dining room had one man taking orders for snacks or food, serving drinks and food. They couldn't find the chicken wings at one time from the kitchen and one woman didn't receive her order and money had already been taken out of her bank account. I also would have liked to receive a washcloth to use for bathing. None were provided at the hotel.
D. L.
Very good location, Southwark subway 2 minutes foot everything easily accessible from there. Big Ben and London Eye 15/20 minutes by foot. The room was nice, of course not perfect but good for the price. Breakfast was delicious especially the hash browns, eggs and vegetarian sausages. We really enjoyed our second stay here as well as the helpful staff.
C.
A really good find. Handy for the South Bank attractions. With the nearby Southwark tube station just yards away getting to other parts of London is easy.
The staff were really friendly, happy to chat and provide local information.
Clean, quiet and comfortable. Would happily stay there again.
S. R.
Budget hotel, maybe, but with all the important things. Excellent bed. Good breakfast. Clean room. I don't care for small details. I slept well, ate well. And the employees are very polite and nice.
G. S.
For the money, this hotel offers great value to anyone looking for a base to explore the capital. Right next to Southwark tube station, so you can easily reach any part of the city within minutes. Plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance as well.
My room had a stunning view of the Shard which was a bonus! I paid for the breakfast and wifi package - breakfast was very tasty with a good choice of cereals, hot food and pastries, and the wifi service was very reliable and speedy. Some might be put off by the train tracks right outside the window, but it didn't trouble me as they pass at reduced speeds to keep the noise levels down.
S. S.
Clean, inexpensive hotel with minimal frills. The rooms are generous in size and well priced. Things that are missing are things like a bar fridge, shampoo, hair dryer etc. Location is fantastic with friendly front desk staff. Many good bars and restaurants very close by and close to attractions such as Globe theatre, the Shard, Tate Modern etc.
D. C.
It is extremely close to the office I was asked to work at. Bed is comfortable, pillows are nice. Air condition in each room you can control it from a remote. TV. Ensuite shower and a kettle. You can ask for hair dryer and iron. Staff is very friendly and train tracks nearby didn't bother me at night. Plenty of restaurants nearby. It's a shame you only get 30 min free WiFi for 24h period.
S. R.
Nice area for finding places to go in the evening and over the road from a tube station. The family room was spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful. £9 for an über from the station. Would definitely stay again.
A. P.
Expensive, but all hotels in London are expensive. I stayed in a Super Room on the 7th Floor. The room is nice & clean with nice little extras such as a coffee machine & iron/ironing board which you don't get in a standard room. Check in was easy & quick.
B. K.
In the morning, as we were about to leave in your hotel, Butch (the bellboy) asked if we had breakfast. We did not notice that it was included. The mealtime was very good. The mufti grain breads and the cheese were delightful. They past my test for tasty and healthy food.We loved our vacation at your hotel and confidently liked the staff.
D. C.
The staff here are very helpful and friendly. The food here is good, although a little bit slow to arrive but I wasn't overly concerned about the wait. If I'm in the area again I'll be coming back here. The room is plenty spacious and all very clean, and most importantly has a very comfortable bed, the best sleep I've had in months.
A. M.
Had a problem with the toilet, the brekfast was pretty poor and they stopped serving even before the anounced time, room was incredibly simplistic and you get free wifi access for up to 2 devices which is few for a family of 4. The location though is a positive for sure
G. C.
If you get a chep deal it might be ok. My room was clean, i had clean towels a shower with decent pressure, a decent bed and it was quiet at night. So it covers the bases. Interiour looks low standard and outdated. The breakfast room has the charm of a highschool lunch room - only much smaller. I had better roons for that money. Only stayed there because we booked on short notice and other hotels where booked out. But the price we paid was way to high for this place.
D. J.
Everything you'd expect from a Travelodge. Comfy bed, a shower and (for my room) a great view of the Shard. Only reason to down rate was one lift wasn't working so it was a long wait and tight squeeze for the one working lift and the toilet wouldn't flush.
T.
Service at the front counter fantastic. Room very clean and exactly what you need for an overnight stay. Breakfast chaotic in the morning, food wasn't amazing. Checkout very easy. Highly recommended for a no thrills overnight stay in London with a great location.
J.
Basic but fair for the price given in London. It had all we needed. Couple of things, no opening windows, mould on curtain and dirty cup in room. Don't get the breakfast it really isn't worth it.
V. o.
The room was tidy and clean. There was no soap in the hand soap dispenser. The lift was frightening as it felt like it broke down. However, the stay was fine as we were hardly there. Was cheap for London and easy to get to.
D. S.
Basically all right but AC not working marred it a bit no glasses and only one large towel
J. W.
It was a great room (air con was much appreciated!) in a really accessible location - but what made the stay were the lovely staff. I didn’t manage to catch any of their names, but all three ladies I spoke to were lovely, welcoming and charming. Thank you!
J. G.
Not a bad place to stay. The floors and walls seem to muffle the sound of other guests well enough. The buffet breakfast they serve in the morning is of good quality, too. I would come with my family again.
D. P.
Pleasantly surprised. Recently refurbished rooms provide a comfortable experience. Definitely worth a visit if you need a cheap stay in a decent room
M. W.
Its a Travelodge with clean and tidy room with a great view over the city if you can get on the right side of the building. Buffet breakfast was great and the WIFI was fast enough to watch YouTube videos.
L. K.
Rooms are clean but tired and can be noisy with the train in the morning. Food wasn’t great, would go to some of the nearby restaurants or cafes instead. Good location
I.
It's a Travelodge so it's pretty standard. Clean and tidy. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to find and convenient for Southwark tube station. Free WiFi for 30 mins then chargeable for 24 hours. Buffet breakfast that was very busy when I was there and there was a queue for tables. Nice enough once I sat down.
L. B.
It was fine for the money, breakfast was ok but location was good and it wasn't too noisy, was very well used (loose loo seat for example) but mostly clean, didn't smell like some well used hotels do
S. M.
It's a Travelodge.
Converted office block with minimal room facilities, not enough elevators and basic rooms that are clean (when I have visited).
Lord Nelson pub across the road does good food and can be busy, but is a good choice if you want to escape the luxurious Travelodge box.
J. H.
Customer service was absolutely amazing! Great hotel especially for the price! Wish we had a little more storage space since we stayed in a family room and it is 5 of us. Decent location.
n. h.
Stayed for 1 night with 2 young children, it was less than 5 minutes walk from the tube, had several small shops& pubs outside. It took about 10 minutes on tube to Leicester Square & walked to southbank in 20 minutes ( would've been even quicker without children). We stayed in a family room which had a double bed and 2 occasional single beds which fitted in room fine, room was clean, we could faintly hear trains nearby but we didn't find it a problem. The staff couldn't do enough to offer help & advice during our stay& we would happily book their again.
A. B.
Easy to reach location and puts you in easy range of the West end and South Bank. Rooms are basic but comfy, perhaps a little worn here and there but perfectly good if you just need a place to crash. Air con/ventilation is quite noisy.
C. B.
Fantastic central location. Good clean rooms with comfy beds. Next to Southwark tube station and Waterloo station is a further 6 minutes walk. You can easily walk to all attractions on The South Bank. Also only about a 15 minute walk to Westminster.
C. W.
One of the best travelodge in the city. Always really high standards here and staff are helpful and lovely. Plus it's in a really quiet area with plenty nice places to eat nearby.
C. J.
The service at check in and check out was outstanding - I've had worse service from 4 and 5* hotels. All the staff were tremendously polite, the room was fantastic and clean and surprisingly quiet for being central London
J. O.
Sure it's cheap but it's also very basic. Annoying alarm at night and noone checked or did anything to ensure guests accounted for
L. G.
This Travelodge has the friendliest staff in any Travelodge I have been in. We are in a super room. Only difference to what was the old standard is that we have a lavatta coffee machine. Otherwise you know what you are getting. It's a Travelodge. Great position but more importantly great staff.
A. J. B. (. J.
My home from home each time I visit London. Very inexpensive for London and it's easy to access Southwark Tube station and Waterloo Station. A short walk to Westminster too.
Rooms are always clean and staff are always welcoming too. The all you can eat breakfasts are very good value for money.
A. S.
Lovely quiet hotel.
Staff were attentive, check in was quick, rooms very clean and well appointed.
Just down the road from Southwalk station and a 10 minute walk from Waterloo station.
Local restaurants and a local shop make this a good base to start your London adventure from.
Slightly let down by the lack of free WiFi!
A. F.
We had the room with a view & it was awesome. Stayed as a family with my wife & kids in a "super room" well.worth the money & within reasonable walking distance of the London Eye & underground station 2 minutes away.
P. P.
Good access to the tube. There are rooms with good views of the Shard and the receptionist was very helpful in suggesting where we could go. Rooms have everything you need, bath, shower, comfortable bed.
a. m.
Aviv ben menachem The customer service is outstanding: Thank you so much for all you've contributed to our community. Whenever you'd like to write another review, we'd love to hear from you.
J. H. (.
Great location near station, there is train noise at night but not loud. Room is clean, comfortable. No fridge. One only wall power outlet in our room.
S. H.
A very pleasant experience and reasonably priced for London. The location of the hotel right next to an underground station makes journeys around the capital very easy.
The room was clean and the staff helpful.
H. M.
Location was brilliant and the room adequate. It was stuffy and warm and we couldn't find a way to cool it easily. The breakfast was very busy and took 20mins to ger seated and the food wasn't great.
A. A.
Located a sort walk from the South Bank, Waterloo, and near lots of tourist attractions. The rooms are clean, quiet, and have all you need. I stay here regularly when travelling for both work and holidaying
N. L.
Good location not far from Southwark tube station. New deluxe rooms very nice and step up from usual travelodge offering. Room was new and everthing in perfect order. Only thing to take note of - is how close it is to very busy railway line. Nonstop trains from 6am. Noise didnt bother me though but it might be an issue for other people.
N. K.
Location good. Very close to Southwark station. Good room size and provides everything you need. Not as clean as expected. Free WiFi only for 30mins and £3 for 24 hours. Early check in (3pm), late check out (12pm).
K. A.
Staff pleasent and helpful, room clean and comfy. Stayed here 3 nights a long weekend looking around London. Location is ideal for this.
O. G.
Arriving to the hotel I was impressed with the apparant recent reservation. I was greeted at the reception by Marco and Marcello who were very friendly. Having found out that my reservation was not in the system i thought i'd be stranded in London. Marcello however sorted everything out for me and apologised for the inconvienience, he was very helpful & apologetic. During my stay my key card decided not to work anymore, i assume because it was next to my phone all day and the magnetic strip deactivated I'm not sure. Marco was on hand and within 2 mins I had a fresh key card to get back into my room, again with no issues and very helpful and apologetic. You can tell they work really hard!
The hotel is in the perfect location, right across the street from Southwark station and a stones throw away from various shops and restaurants. The location falls a little however due to the fact that as I'm writing this, I am overlooking around 7 rail lines with a lot of activity. It's a little loud at times but I can handle this (light sleepers however beware).
The room they put me in (room 611) was very clean. The bedding, furnishings, bathroom & floor were all immaculate apart from one section of the floor where someone has left an iron on the carpet and it's burnt! The room is very no frills, but Travel Lodge do say this on their website! This means no shampoo, iron, hairdryer etc, even the sockets are on a low voltage so your electricals charge very slowly. The room themselves are just like any other room in a hotel brand like this, the kind where you know exactly where all the lightswitches and rooms will be before you actually go in. They aren't like hotels such as the Best Western's where every hotel is different and more often then not, the rooms are different too.
Overall I'd give this 4 stars. It only falls on the lack of amentities within the room and the train station next to it (noise). However if you're looking for a short business stay I'd look no further if you need to be around the Southwark area.
A. M.
The staff was friendly, and our room had a very good view of The Shard. It's not spacious by any means, but it's cheap, the rooms were clean, and it's right next to a tube station.
R. H.
Not impressed with service received. Rooms were booked but we were moved twice in one night because they got it wrong. Had to leave cases at reception and only on return in evening did we know if we had a room or not.
D. M.
It seems crazy to rave about a Travelodge, but so good was my one night stay at this particular location that I have booked it a further two times in September!
I booked a Super Room (yes I know that's a bit flash, but you only live once) and found its proximity to everything I wanted just so convenient. Southwark tube station is a matter of a hundred-or-so metres away, which is far closer than the nearby Premier Inn at Bankside, but not not quite so good as the Novotel Blackfriars (both of which I have also stayed at this year). It doesn't even matter that it's the wrong side of the river, because it is so easy to get around from here. Plus I'll give the chap on the front desk who greeted me a shout out. He was polite and helpful. What's not to like?
So yes. I am confident to give this four stars for being basic, convenient, clean and a good base from which to explore London.
R. T.
Location was OK near underground. Place was clean and tidy and staff were excellent. There is one issue only minor some rooms face railway track which you will hear in summer when windows are are open apart from that all good
H. “. B.
The location of the travel lodge is ideal less then 2 minutes from Southwark tube station. The room was clean and tidy. Basic but what can you expect from a travel lodge. Great value for the bill perfectly.
n. j.
Stayed at Southwark Travelodge last weekend and was not dissapointed. We stayed back in February also and was greeted by a lady called Doris who couldn't have been more helpful. To my delight, she was working again on my recent visit. Doris went out of her way to be helpful as well as happy & funny and just makes your stay that much more enjoyable and easy. Well done Travelodge, Doris is one in a million
D. T.
The room was bigger then expected. we had a nice view of the shard from our window. The only issue was the condensation on the window, which then filled the window sill with water.
G. V. R.
The hotel is clean and tidy. The location is superb, at a walking distance of Waterloo and London bridge. The breakfast food is good, and they are open till 12, which is great for relaxijg weekends.
S. A.
Travelodge London Central Southwark is my number one hotel of choice in London. It's always immaculate, beds are very very comfy and has excellent bathrooms. It is also very reasonably priced compared to many other London hotels. Best of all though is the location. It is only 2 minutes walk from Southwark underground station, and 5 minutes walk from St Paul's cathedral. There is plenty of good eating in the surrounding area, and is generally a really nice area of London. So much close by. Highly recommended.
M. W.
Stayed here twice while working in london, we didnt get there until about 9pm after a very long day an we were greeted by doris, she was amazing with all 3 of us always smiling an always happy to help, an the second time was excatly the same, the rooms were clean an tidy but id definitly stay there again because made us feel so welcome so thank you very much
L. L.
Reasonable prices. Room clean and temperature controlled. Staff friendly. Railway does run quite close so a little noisy
R. P.
Very convenient Travelodge close to Waterloo Station and other underground stations (Sothwark Underground is little more than a 1 minute walk). Friendly, helpful staff, particularly Doris who goes out of her way to make you feel at home. I stay here every month and find it preferable to the Travelodge on Waterloo Road, where I experienced a lack of flexibility on several occasions. The nearby Thai Restaurant (less than 3 minutes walk) is well worth a visit.
M. T.
Rating is subjective, if you're looking for a cheapish no nonsense hotel in central London this fits the bill. Breakfast is ok but not brilliant and the stairwell smelled of cigarettes but overall it was acceptable at the price paid.
S. H.
Amazing service, staff is really friendly and helpful! Rooms are OK but showers feel outdated. Great for a good night's sleep.
M.
Clean room, you can choose if you want new towels every day and you can leave your bags before check in or after check out. The only problem was that one of the cleaners used half of my makeup cleaning wipes.
R. D.
For the price it was a nice basic room which was spotless and which had air conditioning. The location is great and not too loud. I'd happily stay there again.
C. D.
We have stayed in the travelodge several times and it never fails to please. Excellent location, clean, modern and many bars and restaurants within walking distance. Bonus being it is literally a minutes walk to nearesr tube station.
C. S.
Good rooms for London, quite small but with decent facilities. The one problem I would say is that the windows in the rooms don't open so you're reliant on the air-con.
G. y.
Best travelodge in London... staff are supper friendly. Easy to check in, you can leave your bags after checking out. Thanks for making my time in London that little better!
D. A.
Comfortable clean rooms, good breakfast menu, friendly staff, tube station within 2mins from hotel, convenience store next door. Overall well worth a visit.
D. B.
Good location just a short walk to the river and Westminster. The room we stayed in was spacious with everything we needed for a short break. The breakfast setup and service was excellent as well.
J.
First stay. Room was clean and the staff friendly. Very close to the railway line but not really a problem. Breakfast is good value. Recommend.
e.
Just want to thank Doris, an outstanding staff at this location, for making our short stay at Travelodge a great one. She goes out of her way to help customers. We'll be back.
C. B.
The hotel is clean and very close to Southwark tube station. The staff were amazing and only too happy to help. We asked for emails to be printed and had items delivered the the hotel without issue.
W. O.
Clean, spacious, quiet room. Will definitely be using this location again. Well situated to visit a variety of places in the capital. Good price for central London too.
R. R.
Been using this Travelodge on and off for over 10 years. Great location and some great views from some of the rooms. 24 hour shop just next door.
C. C.
Great location, just 5 mins walk from Southwark tube station. Doris was amazing on reception friendly and helpful. A 20 minutes walk to the embarkment with all the big attractions on it,ie The London Eye,Shrek, sealife and so on.Lots of pubs and places to eat near by,and Shard is just behind the hotel bout 20 walk this is also near borough market.
N. P.
Staff and hotel were nice. Only downside was it is a bit noisy being so close to train lines (a positive is though it's only a short walk to Southwark tube, and a little further to Waterloo) all that aside a pleasant first experience of travelodge
L. R.
Comfortable bed, compact but fully functional room, very quiet even though there was a pub directly outside, perfectly positioned for outings around London, would stay here again.
E. L.
Fine for travelling businesses...basic though, and it took 3 days for them to fix my tv. Folk on the upper floors went without electricity for an evening.
B. B.
Clean room, very spacious, comfortable bed. Staff is exceptionally friendly. Breakfast has a good selection.
G. H.
Good location. Room I was in wasn't very clean. Breakfast was fine. Staff friendly enough.
P. C. (.
Great place to stay. Friendly staff, convenient for tube and river. Good value. My fourth time of staying & will be back in a year or two.
G. R.
Room on the 5th floor okay but freezing when I walked in and it took me a while to work out how to warm up. Shower okay. Breakfast a different matter. Scrambled eggs - avoid them if you can.
J. H.
Clean rooms with basic provisions. Excellent value but not definitely no frills. Great location. Some noise from trains going past but not too bad.
C. H.
A nicely placed hotel with some fair prices for what you get, a nice add-on breakfast, quiet & clean rooms, tea / coffee maker and a comfy nights sleep with a nice bathroom. Friendly staff as well.
A. M.
Great staff especially Jenny at meal times.👍🤣🍷🍺🥂🥂

Reasonable price for a standard service. No surprise. English breakfast is served every morning. Strategic position to reach the main attraction or just for a walk along the Themes.
g. b.
stayed with my lady there and it was local to everything. parking over night will cost you £30

Great value for money! Great location. Rooms were clean. Safe area at night. Tube a 3 mins walk away and plenty of buses nearby
D. D.
Lovely hotel, great staff, but skip the awful and expensive breakfast; there are plenty of good breakfast options close by. It is a bit odd to be asked to rate the hotel on the spot at check out!
J. Q.
Clean. Simple but decent breakfast. Brilliant location within walking distance of Tate Modern and Westminster, and close to the underground. Lots of decent pubs and restaurants nearby.
H. J.
Room Clean,Food is fresh cooked and taste brilliant. We are in Travelodge Second Time and we will come back again. Everybody working there are Really Friendly and helpful

Fine for travelling businesses...basic though, and it took 3 days for them to fix my tv. Folk on the upper floors went without electricity for an evening.

The hotel is situated in a good place.only a short ride into London. The room was a good size.not the cleanest but towels were changed when they had to be and the beds were made.a hoover would have helped and the toilet needed some ajax down it.The breakfast was nice.overall a good stay
H. M.
Staff were friendly and bed was comfortable. However, room was unlocked and open when I checked in so anyone could have been in since it was turned down. Internet is not free
B. P.
New, clean, comfortable (a/c), and in a nice area with easy access to tube or walking to Tate Modern, millennium bridge and St Paul's. Friendly staff, especially Doris - a real treasure!
J. G.
Location location location. There is a pub, minimarket and Southwark station is less than a minute walk. The rooms are clean and I highly recommend it.
M. H.
Basic Travelodge hotel in former offices. Nothing special, but clean and tidy. Décor in the bathroom could do with updating (ours was red and white), but it did the job.
A. M.
Pleasantly surprised. Not as tired as some other Travelodge hotels. Decent pricing and location.
K. A.
Room was fine, breakfast looked better than usual travelodge fare, room key didn't work at first but staff were helpful and when we couldn't get it working they gave me another (bigger) room.
d. i.
Toilet/bathroom smelt of urine, lift also smelt unpleasant, staff helpful and friendly and i liked the room which was clean and comfortable
B. T.
Great Location. Nearby Southwark station. Mould issues on the windows in both rooms we stayed. Good for a short stay nearby public transport in London
C. G. P.
Very friendly staff, quite on the inside room, smaller than a 'Premier' room but very clean and comfortable. Also great location only 1 min walk from Southwark tube station.
A.
Very close to tube station and within walking distance of Tate Modern and The Globe. Room satisfactory, clean and bed comfy. Service very friendly.

Super location for visiting London. No frills accommodation but hard to beat the price .Buffet breakfast is fine and I always love a toast machine ...
H. M.
Staff were friendly and bed was comfortable. However, room was unlocked and open when I checked in so anyone could have been in since it was turned down. Internet is not free
B. S.
It's a Travelodge. Basic room, no TV remote, just a button under the TV. Great views for trainspotters if you are on the 4th floor & above, rooms 11 onwards.
M. C.
Hotel very well situated, about 1 minute from the tube and 15 minutes walk to South Bank. Staff were friendly, room was reasonable, what let it down was the restaurant was not big enough so at breakfast it was hard to get a table and the menu for evening meals was terrible.
I. W.
We stay here almost every to we visit London, for the location and price you can't go wrong. Don't expect any frills but the hotel is clean and rooms are comfortable with friendly staff.
P. H.
It a travelodge and it does what it set out to do staff are friendly and helpful room are clear if basic breakfast is good and your not far from central london where you will pay though the nose so ya i will come again 😎
M. L.
A little noisy inside the rooms, but that's my only complaint. Otherwise good room with nice bathroom in a great location if you're a tourist.
J. W.
Great location, rooms cleaned well. However starting to look aged in places. Will happily stop again but hope a make up is planned shortly.
R. R.
Good place to stay for a short business trip or long tourist visit. Although it doesnt have room service, it os always spotless clean and the breakfast is amazing!
T. M.
Great location minutes from Southwark station, good sized rooms which were clean & tidy, friendly staff, enjoyed the breakfast, would definitely stay again.
K. H.
Very clean with friendly staff.
Although it's right near a railway you can barley hear it.
M. N.
Clean and friendly, upgraded to a "super room" which was defiantly worth it, iron and hair dryer both supplied, free unlimited breakfast was also good.
s. g.
Excellent Travel Lodge - really helpful, friendly staff. Cannot fault the breakfast menu. Didn't eat any other times, however, the menu looked good
s.
Very good service, nice location, and rooms were nice...
S. R.
Asked for a room on a high floor, on a side away from the train tracks. Essential if you want a good night's sleep. Hotel is clean and conveniently located.
S. M.
OK, pretty typical Travelodge. A modern and functional bar/restaurant, rooms are average but very helpful and friendly staff
C. B.
Great location for tube, pubs, places to eat & supermarkets. Best family room we've had so far food typical travel lodge highly recommend.
M. T.
Comfortable place to get your head down. Clean, warm and cosy. Totally dark room which was amazing with black out curtains.Central location.
J. B.
Very basic but clean.
K. P.
Excellent location. Clean & tidy.
P. D.
Have been there a few times in Nov for the Remembering Service Clean Rooms Breakfast good and Doris and staff will do anything for you excellent place to stay will see Doris and staff again soon 😀
R. M.
Good staff can make all the difference to an experience, we were able to upgrade (worth the extra £) for the night without hassle, and enjoyed good views of the shard and snowy railway tracks.
K. J.
If you are a light sleeper then this isn't an ideal hotel for you to stay in. Some of the rooms are next to a train track. Overall, it was a decent stay.
K. W.
Clean and functional hotel. You know what you're getting with a travelodge. Staff very friendly and location is good for city centre. Only 5 mins from Southwark underground and the jubilee line. In centre of London in mins.
m. m. g.
The best place. Very accessible to everything, bus, train and underground. I'm definitely considering coming back again.
P. S.
Great hotel, spacious room, clean bathroom, quiet location. Friendly staff too, which is always nice. Excellent.
D. W.
Located close to subway. Handy for visitors to the city, however, free wifi should be available. Its 2020 for Christs Sake
N. G.
Nice personal. Clean rooms. The breakfast was OK with scrambled eggs, sauceses, coffee ☕️ beans and bread.
J. N.
Quite a new looking Travelodge on the outside but doesn't quite feel like that on the inside. It has been well used. But, you know, it does a job... It's a Travelodge after all.
A. B.
Fantastic location just minutes from Waterloo. Great staff from Doris at front desk and from Dean the hotel manager, all are friendly.
S. F.
Ideal accommodation in terms of convenience, position and services (rooming and eating, even traditional breakfast). Safe family stay with children. What else? See u next time. Congratulations indeed!
K. V.
Very clean, comfy double bed and decent bathroom. Receptionist could have been nicer to our group.
S. M.
Great staff, gave us a massive room with a fantastic view of the Shard. Room clean and comfortable and close to the Tube.
L. M.
Better than most Travelodges I've stayed in, good sized room with basic facilities. Bar and restaurant on site but I did not use either.
S. B.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. Good breakfast. I would recommend this hotel.
J. G.
Location location location. There is a pub, minimarket and Southwark station is less than a minute walk. The rooms are clean and I highly recommend it.
V. C.
Adequate travelodge, easy to get to, 24 hour reception and bar. Bar food was mediocre at best, breakfast was a little better
S. T.
Room clean and spacious. Good location. Would have been 5 bit breakfast not great
D.
Nice comfy rooms and friendly staff
M. H.
Basic hotel, clean enough with no frills. The restaurant is a little lifeless though there are lots of places to eat in the surrounding streets.
F. K. (.
Decent, lacks mini fridge and microwave, also the sheets were dirty, which got resolved very quickly.
J. G.
Good hotel, nasa was very friendly and a great guy
G. N.
Nice staff, all you can eat cooked breakfasts were cooked but warm, not hot. Good location 1 mins walk from southwark tube station. Would go there again.
C. H.
Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms. Southwark tube 2 minutes walk. Food around the clock. Check out time is 12 which is useful.
R. C.
Ok for what it is but if you have loads of luggage, best you call them to help when you arrive as the reception is on the 1st floor.
L. M.
Reasonably quiet. Good location for working in Southwark. Near tube and bus. Rooms are basic but clean and fairly new fittings.
S. 1.
Fantastic hotel, myself and my girlfriend stayed here for a few days in Feb, 2014, food was great, staff were very helpful and friendly, will be 100% using this hotel again.
S. S.
Guests liked the clean rooms, though some commented maintenance could be improved·Some guests mentioned the bathrooms could be improved
M. C.
Great hotel in a prime location. Amazing staff (Doris on reception is a great character), very clean and tidy.
A. B.
Good standard hotel well maintained. Breakfast was ok but nothing special on both counts.
T. P.
Room was very clean and comfy, the breakfast could be better. The staff were amazing
M. X.
Good location. Friendly reception. Just felt like uni digs. But too basic but it was clean and comfy
R. B.
Reasonable hotel. Lots of noise from water pipes but clean rooms and friendly staff. A decent 'budget' hotel.
S. G.
Great location, friendly reception BUT couldn't get heating going and couldn't be bothered to get dressed again and return to front desk with the intention of changing rooms.
F.
This was a great place to stay while in London everything was only few minutes walk away and staying here was central to all London's top attractions. .within walking distance of EVERYTHING!
D. R.
Paula on reception was very helpful and friendly. Good room. Nothing to complain about.
m. c.
Excellent Travelodge. Food was good as was the service. Less than five minutes from tube station. Service with a smile.
N. B.
Centrally located, well priced and tidily put together. My only gripe is that there was no bedside table and there were no plugs near the bed
D. T.
Location is great for the Southbank, rooms are standard Travelodge fitting, hotel is right by busy trainline but noise was not a major issue
R. D.
Good night’s sleep and breakfast of champions. Awkward that reception is on the 1st floor and felt a little understaffed (long wait to check in).
D. R.
Good hotel. But view reminded me why I'm glad I now longer live there. Poor souls. Move out!
a. b.
Great location next to the tube. Clean and more than adequate if just using for a bed for the night while sightseeing.
a. m.
Polite staff, clean rooms, I counted 31 trains from our window in 28 minutes but did not disturb my sleep!!
J. S.
Very convenient for tube, and well located for tourism in London. No frills rooms, but perfectly fine for the price.
S. A.
Good value and location. Can't hear the trains or other guests. Stayed twice already
*. A.
Great super rooms
