Reviews of Westow House Pub & Hotel
M. H.
A maybe. First time here today, could have been an off day for them but extremely slow service between everything (starter arrived before drinks etc) Food was just average, found my cod batter very doughy and as per another reviewer burger was overdone and under seasoned. It wasn’t a busy time of day (3/4pm) so unsure why service was slow, bill took ages to come and then another 15 mins or so for card machine.
Positives are v friendly staff, thoughtful dog friendly touches at the dog station (bowls, beds, treats on demand).
S.
Had a Sunday Roast, the food and service was great. The dogs in the eating area was quite a put off, there were at least 4 during our visit. I’m all for dog friendly and think it’s great you accommodate them, the treats bowl were a lovely extra. But dogs where food is being served and eaten in public for me is super unhygienic and a big no.
K. S.
First visit since new owners re-opened it. We used to love it here, and we were very excited.
Good selection of beers on tap, but the food was disappointing. Fish and chips completely inedible, very soft chunky chips, fish batter too thick and mushy. Vegan hotdog was OK.
Space looks nice, didn't change that much apart from new upstairs floor.
We miss old Westow House with sofas and better food. It was our favourite pub in London. It's still OK but not as good as it used to be.
e. k.
We had a Sunday lunch whilst visiting family, and were pleasantly surprised not only with the quality of the food but also with the speed of service and friendly helpful staff. We will consider staying at the establishment the next time we visit. Well done.

Came in with family without a reservation on Sunday. They’d had a cancellation and could seat us. The dining area is really lovely, the service was friendly and attentive and the food delicious. Definitely returning. Happy that this is a local for me
M. W.
Looking for somewhere to eat and came across this place. Staff were very welcoming and polite. Food was nice, reasonably priced and service good. A very busy and Popular establishment. Would definitely visit again if in the area
A. F.
So much nicer after a refurb. They do a decent Sunday lunch, but disappointing we had to wait to order food as the kitchen was too busy (we were happy wait!). Decent service and the food was tasty and had a good beer choice.
L. M.
This place is a little gem. My brother had booked this place as they except you g children (which I didn't know was a thing). As we walked in I noticed that there was loads of families and even their dogs. Which was really nice.
The food was amazing. My fiancé even said that thier burger was the best that she has ever had. I had the fish and chips and they was very good to. I missed out on desserts but when I go back I would like to order the apple crumble as it looked proper yummy. The portions are really generous to so very good value for money.
Really can't wait to go back.

The beating heart of Crystal Palace triangle neighbourhood. Good grub, friendly staff, lovely unique interior. All in all it’s a great local pub!
C. T.
Stayed here for work, they accommodated 7 of us at the last minute. The team were friendly and went above and beyond for us, the rooms were clean, comfortable and stylish and the bar was lovely. Thanks to Steve and the team for being so helpful.
W. W.
First visit since reopening, love the first floor area with views. Table of 11 for Sunday lunch including 5 little children. Tasty food and friendly service, staff were especially great as it was very busy and we were quite messy. Look forward to returning.
H. C.
Really great pub - excellent food, friendly staff and lovely personal touches like kids cutlery and dog treats/beds! Definitely worth a visit!
M. M.
Great bar, restaurant and hotel.
My husband, myself and my husband’s brother attended a friend’s birthday on the 4th December and we stayed here for 1 night. On arrival although it took a while to be shown the room and service at the bar was a bit slow, once we got our drinks and relaxed in the bar, we were taken to our rooms. We were on the second floor with views of the park. The room itself was generous enough and very nicely decorated. Full king bed with padded headboard and heavy curtains. Really good nights sleep, we didn’t hear the 2 bars at all! Even though it was very busy with ongoing celebrations.
There were however a few things the room and bar/restaurant lacked hence the 4 stars. There wasn’t a dressing mirror in the room and no where to plug the hairdryer to see in the only mirror located in the bathroom. The room was very warm and you couldn’t turn the heating down (so we turned it off) We wanted to eat, so we headed for the restaurant, unfortunately although there were tables free the manager said it was too busy with booked parties and we would have to wait at leat 90 mins before we could order. So we left to eat elsewhere. Bit disappointing but it wasn’t too much trouble. The breakfast was fantastic.
This is a newly opened and remodelled hotel so we allowed for some short comings. All in all we had a great stay here and would definitely return in the future.
Thanks Westow House x

The recent refurb has improved the toilet situation. Nice busy pub but busy in a good way. Outside area is great in spring / summer
G.
Great gastro pub, good selection of unique taps. Dining and drinking areas, good all round vibe on a Sunday
G. J.
Great atmosphere, polite staff. Drinks are decent enough. Cocktails not very good.
J. L.
Definitely a lot better since the recent refurbishment. Decent beer selection. Not on the cheap side but that is to be expected for Crystal Palace. Recommended.
C. B.
Popped into Westow House for a quick dinner before heading to Lightopia, and so glad we did. The food was delicious, the service excellent and they had no problem accomodating our request. Just sorry we couldn't stay longer - we will be back!
P. E.
We made a reservation for this place and was pleased to see it so busy and booked up. We were seated relatively quickly but it was so busy the servers were quite stretched and difficult for them to be attentive.
However, despite the busy ness of a Friday night we did get our drinks, food etc in reasonable time.
We had a table outside which was nice but we warned as it’s a busy junction in can be very noisy with the traffic so our conversation was interrupted quite a bit. Inside I am sure is much more peaceful :)
The drinks and food menu is decent and good variety for all.
We ordered burgers… they were well presented. I personally found them to be quite salty (a bit too much) along with the salty chips… and it was quite messy to eat but it wasn’t a bad burger.
It’s a good popular bar and a good visit for social drinks/food etc… :). But not so wonderful experience for me this time.
S.
Great outside space - massive front beer garden. Also a really pretty and cost pub on the inside. Good selection of wine, kind staff, and definitely recomend the food... especially the sea bass.. delicious !!!
R. M.
Dissapointing service from management when dealing with very poor food quality. Great pub, great beers on tap and brilliant menu normally, but the customer service was far from the expected standards tonight.
B.
Finally been since they renovated the place. It's looking good. The most noticeable thing is the lighting is much better.
The service was good and they serve local drinks (and Guinness) which is a nice touch.
I haven't tried the food yet but give it time.
D. H.
Nice pub with good food and beer menu. Fairly spacious with a library room away from the main bar. Staff helpful and wear masks, very enjoyable experience.
P. J. P.
Great local, sometimes music upstairs, nice upmarket pub food downstairs.
C. E.
Lovely place. Busy! But that's what happens if you've got a great business! Lovely friendly and diverse staff
S. H.
Ventured out for a roast today and was not disappointed. Staff were incredible - all wearing their masks, constantly wiping and disinfecting tables and their stations and tables carefully spaced (so I felt v safe). The food was great, very tasty chicken, creamed leaked delicious and the extra gravy pot was a nice touch (always have to ask in other places) - poss the best roast I've had in a long long time (and everyone got 2nd portions of yorkshires). Compliments to the Chef!
The manager was super diligent, constantly ensuring customers were happy and ensuring everyone's table was cleared when finished - you could tell he runs a tight ship but everyone worked as a team. 100% going back again - I suspect it may start to get very busy once the word is out that they are fully open and trading as usual.
5 out of 5 from me!
H. F.
The Restaurant was a delight, the service fantastic, the food very tasty, and good company, thoroughly enjoyed the experience at Westow House, and the staff were very Professional, polite, very helpful and friendly.
E. S.
Hugely improved local. After a recent change of hand from the shambolic previous owners this pub has been masivly smartened up and the service greatly improved!
M. P.
Lovely pub. Nice venue. Great beer selection kept well.
D. D.
One of the best gastro-pubs in Crystal Palace area. Food is pretty tasty, plenty of seats and good atmosphere.
G. G.
Dry nice, first time back since a very nice rehab. Fish n Chips nice, especially the mushy mint peas.
E. R.
Really nice pub and Inn.. bedrooms are super...going back at the end of march...
S. G.
Staff are extremely friendly, the food and cocktails are great and a lovely atmosphere to be in.
A. S.
Very nice bedroom, friendly staff, great breakfast. Would highly recommend Westow house as very good value hotel.
M. M.
Lovely pub!! Great service, our waitress called Alice was super friendly and attentive, made a big difference and got a baby chair for us without us asking. Really pleased and will be coming back :)
H. P.
Excellent hotel, with wonderful staff. Will definitely be staying again.
S. L.
Ate at Westow House at midday today, had the vegetarian roast. Was absolutely fantastic. Really really good. Well done to whoever it was who put that together.
Very hard to catch anyones eye for a refill, (and would definitely have spent more money in there had that been different), but the food was really good.
J. C. H. T.
Newly refurbished bar. Very smart. Great friendly staff.
H. J.
Can't recall much as I was on a date with a stunning young lady. The wine was certainly good. As was the service. My date though. She gets more than 5:stars.
L. C.
A nice local pub. Food menu has a nice selection and the drinks are good too. I usually get a bottle of wine here but they make a lovely aperol spritz and espresso Martini
E. L.
Love westow house. Best pub in palace. Live music. Great food. Lovely front beer garden. Ample space indoors. Pleasant bar staff. Really comfortable and relaxing atmosphere indoors. Can get heaving on a weekend. Spent many great nights in this place.
M. S.
Really nice pub with friendly staff. A little bit pricey but a good choice of beers and menu selection.
v. r.
Visited 22/4/21 Really good pub, hadn't prior booked but as there was a gap between table bookings we got a table for a short time.
Very helpful server.
And a pretty good selection of beers.
Well laid out inside, for visits to toilets. Definitely organised to cope with the current situation. Worth a visit
T. P.
Very attentive table service despite being late in the evening close to last orders. No outside heating, but blankets provided. The staff are very friendly. House wines reasonably priced and well chosen.
R. F.
Always a busy pub, hard to get a seat. Very popular garden at the front. Stiff upper lip was a good pint.
D. B.
Have been here for lunch a couple of times recently. The refurb has been beautifully done and the pub has improved since the new owners took over. The food is better too, we had an excellent burrata, good squid and tasty parmesan chips on our first visit. On our second visit we had some fantastic beef croquettes and a decent burger and fish and chips. My only gripe is that if you pay £13+ for a burger, you should be able to have it cooked however you like, even if it means mincing meat onsite. However, the service is excellent, it's a beautiful pub and they have Paulaner on draft so there's a lot to like. An excellent local, much improved.
L. T.
Excellent as usual. Great staff and service, you can see why this pub is so popular with locals. Running a bit low on some beers at the moment but that's due to the current climate.
K. T.
Nice front outdoor area quite vast . Nice interior , very comfortable. Friendly staff and the service is excellent. Great for families . Go and see for yourselves.
L. L.
Great cider, great place to meet friends on a sunny day. Love the proper pub smell with a warm mixed atmosphere
R. B.
Lovely food and, for a nice day, it was a nice place to sit outside, even being on a main road. Only gripes are the Brunch menu finished at midday and the sandwiches were only monday to fridays. After the disappointment of missing brunch, I had my heart set on a club sandwich, but couldn't have that either. Wouldn't stop me going again.
J. M.
I go to this outstanding restaurant often because I love the special atmosphere that is unique to this place. The team is extraordianrillyremarkably attentive and skilfull. The service is extraordinarily efficient. Needless to say, the food they cook is good. I ate there often and I was never disappointed. The expense is decent. I highly suggest this restaurant to to everybody.
D. F.
Passing off ordinary cider from W10 with just the name. Prices reflect the kind of unscrupulous marketing tactics.
Barman was nice, professional and helpful.
J. S.
Consistently the busiest pub on the Triangle. Nice space and often has live music.
L. M.
Fabulous wee place. Great food, even better staff.
M. E. L.
There are a good space inside, delicious food and friendly staffs
A.
I can't always wear a mask due to occasional asthma flare-ups. We came for lunch today and the staff were so understanding of my being exempt, and very careful both for me and the other diners, making sure I was sat far away from any other people (other than my friend I was with). The tables were spaced out and we saw them being cleaned after every customer. The food was delicious. Thank you.
L. O.
New management may have entered under a slightly controversial dark cloud, but I love the new improved Westow. The drinks offering seems great, and they still have a chess board knocking about
A. Y.
Great child-friendly pub in the Crystal Palace triangle. Nice selection of food and drinks. The wings are to die for 🥰🥰😭
P. C.
Huge pub. Excellent Sunday lunch (you don't need to have the roasts, there's a regular menu too).
N. D.
Average pub. Average (at best) food. Friendly staff though.
T. H.
Good pub. Great staff. Clean toilets. How pubs should be done.
E. B.
Currently (Lockdown III) serving takeaway hot drinks and food such as Sunday roast rolls. Had a delicious roast beef roll with horseradish, Yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy. A generous helping served in a brioche roll & hats off to them for their ingenuity. Recommended.
S. E.
Good pub. Only had a drink. Quite busy but felt safe.
t.
excellent service, excellent food, great choice of ale.
k. w.
Nice pub, but the owners need to ensure that social distancing takes place. Whilst the tables are adequately spaced, there are several men who often cause trouble and come very close to you, especially on the outside tables. This is a shame, because the beer and food are good, and the pub is otherwise the best in Crystal Palace.
C.
Food was not great, but overall I do like the atmosphere of the pub
B. B.
Good food, drinks and service.
Minimal levels of faffing about when you just want to drop in for a drink is a welcome change from the officiousness that's become all too common elsewhere.
B. C.
They have implemented a system which works OK. It's a shame about no smoking in the garden. But it was a nice visit and one of the better environments after knockdown in a pub that I visited. Maybe table service by staff would work better?
B. L.
Lovely location, very good food and staff. A little slow but many people seemed to not be following the rules so this affected the staffs ability to deliver or serves us at times.
C. G.
A good day at the Westow house, the fabulous beer the very good food the very relaxed atmosphere and the very good service, definitely recommended if you want to have a good lunch,we will back definitely 😊
R. T.
I went to Westow House yesterday and thought their covid protections were very good. They cleaned the tables after each person left, and the waiter had a mask and gloves. Felt very comfortable compared to some other London pubs at this time.
A. M.
We had some pulled pork nachos and halloumi fries and we loved it! It seems that the staff have a clear understanding of covid regulations so made us feel very safe! Will be coming back for more nachos soon!
C. S.
First time here last weekend and I had an excellent time. The staff are friendly and attentive and the beer was good. The interior was welcoming and a joy to be emerged in too. All in all, great.
e. b.
Could be much better maintained. Choice of beer ok.
S. F. (. D. T. E.
Clean room and friendly staff. Parking not great.
C. F.
Nice beers, lovely staff, delicious food and quality pub quiz. What's not to love? The pie and mash is to die for Plus they rent rooms upstairs and I imagine it's lovely up there too

Always busy and great British pub food. They kept the COVID rules...

Lovely location, very good food and staff. A little slow but many people seemed to not be following the rules so this affected the staffs ability to deliver or serves us at times.

dropped in for a cool drink. nice friendly staff. ordered chips for 2. was more like chips for 1 halved.
M. W.
This place is open late and plays live music. It also has a good selection of beer and serves food. It is a large venue with plenty of seating. The bar staff were attentive considering how busy it was and the craft beers were well kept.
M. M.
Inattentive bar staff. Came outside to place 'Reserved' signs on tables whilst ignoring empty glasses.
S. B.
I live right across the street and we come here very often. Service is amazing, we've been greeted many times by staff and it just feels like a different kind of service not the common pub vibe (which I have nothing against) Food is some of the best food in the area, finger food mostly but also some great main dishes. So family friendly, during the days you can go with kids, and they even have special occassions on mother's day, father's day, easter and stuff like that. Then in the evening is really cool with live music some times, quiz night, open mic, etc. The building has so much character, and it's so spacious you can have a very intimate dinner or a get together with a big group of friends.
They also sell drinks for kids, as I said very family friendly.
R. H.
Fantastic to have guest ales back... great beer.
S. B.
Good choice of beers. Round of four pints just over £20. But food was half cold and not worth the money. Had better food at other antic pubs like goldsmiths. We'll be back for the quiz and friendly staff but not the food.
J. W.
Another almost identical gastropub. You know the formula. Distressed wooden furniture, floor and bar ✓ Tattooed bar staff✓ Menu of English staples✓ Craft beers✓
The Westow does it well. The Vienna style lager packs a punch and slips down a bit too easily. The sausages and mash is good value for £8. The staff are friendly and service is fast.
The taped music, old R&B & soul classics, is another plus point.
There's a lot of these gastropubs. They are very popular. But they are getting "samey". If you like the formula you'll like The Westow.
a. b.
Amazing food and ambience! Loved the vintage feel and art deco interiors!
T. W.
Good beer. Good atmosphere.
I was slightly confused after ordering drinks at the bar, interacting with bar staff, I was asked after a couple of hours by a female member of the nighttime only security team to remove my hat. Apparently there is a no hat policy. I noticed this did not extend to the band, however.
I suspect this woman was just being overly officious, bossy and bored. It has annoyed me and clarification would be appreciated.
Either she is wrong, or the bar staff are not enforcing the policy.
J. S.
Great roast pork. Very reasonable price compared to the other roasts in the area (£12) staff accommodated special requests and were very attentive. Roasts came out really quickly and were really big servings and delicious
A. K.
Gorgeous place, amazing atmosphere 🥳
E. S. S.
Big period pub with friendly crowd and staff. Family friendly during the day, young cool crowd at night. Gets very busy late at weekends - frequent bands, music nights etc. Restaurant area at the back - food is standard gastropub, not the best in the area. Dog friendly. Seating area at the front is nice in summer if you don't mind the traffic.
T. R.
A victim of its own success? Used to love coming here on a Friday night. Great tunes and a cracking atmosphere. Just came back from lunch on a Sunday. I had a roast and the other half had fish and chips. Both looked and tasted a bit depressing, feels like the kitchen is a little small and stuff is being rushed out.
S. H.
The kitchen was slow and the staff all seemed very overwhelmed. It was a Saturday and they didn't have enough people on. With that said when we did get our food we enjoyed it but the operation could have been slicker.
M. D.
I really enjoy my time in there, really nice staff, Specially the gentleman at the Door. Waiters really helpful, everyone using their masks and keeping distance. I'll be back again soon. 💋❤️👏😎
C. B.
Comfy pub with excellent selection of beers. Decent space to sit outside in nice weather, although it gets a little noisy right on the road. Also steer clear on Friday/Saturday nights if you're over 30! It gets rowdy.
N. F.
Nice setup and good service.
Would of given 5 stars had it not been for a group of smokers around us.
A. S.
Wish I had stayed for the amazing looking Sunday roast.
P. J.
It was my local for many years before moving to Scotland. My partner and I met lots of people whilst sitting outside in the beer garden. It has a great vibe. Good pub grub too. We liked it so much, we named our house in Scotland after it.
P. H.
Great vibe, excellent beers, cool & chilled. Their range of beers is fantastic, regularly changing British real and craft ales. Good DJs Fri & Sat. Quiz night (Thurs) can be a bit rowdy. Food very nice but menu doesn't change often. My favourite spot in Crystal Palace.
M. P.
That pub has been through many incarnations but it's splendid what they've done this time. Shame the food is hit and miss. Guys!!! The chips/fries are dreadfully dry. Putting gravy on them isn't trendy, it's necessary. And uncooked halloumi cubes? Urgh! Mac n cheese was ok but the Korean cauliflower was really good. Tuna ceviche was very good, only veggie main was deemed good by a meat eater (the veggie refused to eat such a virtuous meal on a weekend). Scotch egg took far too long. But as a boozer it's still a great pub.
P. N.
Always good food, not cheap but very good and tasty. Excellent staff especially the lovely waitress that ordered extra chips for me to save me waiting at the bar. A lovely lunchtime visit for my wife and I.

The fortunes of this place have been up and down. I don’t know whether they have had several changes of management in quick succession or they just can’t decide what they want to be. In the end it’s a mish-mash of dining room, grubby bar room, middle-class child’s play area and pseudo-intellectual hang-out. I can’t stand pubs that use perfectly good books as decoration but that’s what this place does with the volumes arching up the wall to the high ceiling completely out-of-reach of anyone wanting to see the title let alone get it down to read. Six or seven years ago the pub seemed to have settled on catering for evening diners and had a good quality selection of dishes that they served in the large back room. Then again I also seemed to remember them having games including a table tennis table in there at some point.
The main bar area has seen better days. It is perhaps trying to pull off the kind of strip-it-all-back-then-can’t-be arsed style of décor that goes down well in the East of the city, but here it just looks, feels and smells like an unloved space full of unloved furniture. The beer selection is generally good and has embraced the “craft revolution” with gusto. I’ve had strange concoctions from Siren, Weird Beard and many others over the years, although on my most recent visit I thought the keg and cask available were looking a little short on inspiration. Thankfully they also keep a well-stocked range in the fridges.
I have to confirm that this place does seem to attract its fair share of trouble and just plain weirdos which is odd as this place has also run kids days which I’ve had the misfortune to stumble into. Worth a visit once in a while but its best days in this form seem well behind it.

It's difficult to fault this place as a boozer - it has character, it has atmosphere, it feels like it's a cool place to be but in a bohemian way rather than achingly hip. It sells a good range of beers and ales, including some very fine ones from the local Gipsy Hill brewery. It has water and biscuits available for dogs and it has a good outdoor space (although it doesn't get the sunshine in the evenings). They have some excellent live music, DJs at the weekend and a pub quiz on a Tuesday (although it's not a patch on the Paul Partridge Thursday night quiz at The Grape and Grain on the opposite corner but no other quiz is). The food is excellent - so much better than regular pub grub - and service in the dining area in the lower half of the pub has always been friendly and attentive. My only gripe (which some may consider a positive) is that we can't stay with our toddler beyond 9 o'clock, even in the dining area and even if he's asleep but it's not enough to stop me giving The Westow 5 stars.
T. J.
Very friendly staff with very reasonable priced. An all-round great pub with perfect location for many of the surrounding residents.
They let us charge our phones behind the bar.
E. D.
Took a while for food to come but that was because it was so busy , but other than that really enjoyed it
T.
Never disappointed by the Antic pub family... Responded well to social distancing and very well managed. Good beers and smart simple menu.

The vegetarian roast was banging!! The servers were pleasant and polite, pub was laid out very nicely good place to go with family of a Sunday afternoon.

Looking at photos & do not understand why they have 3 members of Ex staff & an Ex manager. While the Westow has improved in recent months & we are still enjoying the atmosphere and staff. I would like to thank thank the staff by name but scared in case I miss somebody.
Also a well deserved 'Big thank you to Emily' Enjoy travelling & please come back or drop a mail to Westow.
Long may it continue.

Lovely pub. Even though it was an unusually busy night, we were served rather quickly, with the lovely bar-person even taking the time to help with drink selections. Nice place.
J. W.
Friendly and attentive service with good atmosphere. A little pricey. Open late.
C. P.
Huge pub, good food. Pints are a bit pricey but a good spot
J. M.
Stopped in with you coeliac daughter who really enjoyed the gluten free fish and chips. There are plenty of other gf options so we will definitely be back. The selection of beer was good too!

Loved this place. Did visit during the week though but atmosphere still very good but not too much. Staff helpful and great range of beers. Highly recommend. Visited again already. Love it

Nice pub with food and drinks. Expensive. Cosy and good for all locals and tourists. Cash and cards taken. Parking not available. Outside seating available and okay for kids to sit with. Staff polite however paid for my drink and they got it wrong but did not refund their mistake hence 4 stars not 5!
R. S.
Good service at the bar. 4 star food although mine was rather cold. The place needs a.good update and is rather dated - i.think this is in progress so it'll be nice when çomplete
M. E.
Nice old style pub with comfy sofas. Always a decent range of ales, although some can be pricey.. Food is just ok and not a patch on nearby Walker Briggs, expensive for what it is
B. B.
Easily the best pub in the triangle. Shows football, good selection of ales; always being rotated and guested. The food has never been bad. Antic know how to do a pub. Watch out though; friday and saturday night the tone is dramatically lowered.
P. B.
Scruffy hipster pub for the under 40’s with mismatched torn furniture and dark decor within a cavernous space. Full of mothers and babies when we were there one midweek lunchtime. Food must be good to achieve their reputation.
h. c.
Nice comfy pub serving very tasty food. Lovely staff. One thing that brings down the tone for the lovely restaurants and shops in the triangle, is the unsightly dilapidated state of the pavements.
P. T.
What a great terrace. And you can have a pint for £5 , now a days that's kind of a miracle.
V. H.
I like this pub, but I made mistake of coming while quiz was on last tues. nothing against a pub quiz going on, but it was way too loud. Just wanted a quiet drink with a friend, turn the mic down!!
N. G.
Lovely pub, great staff. They've done a great job on keeping people apart and keeping the place open.
B. H.
Love this pub, great food, great veggie options! Staff are so pleasant.,jazz and ska music on a Friday night. Pub quiz on Tuesday,;what more can you ask for!?!
A. H.
Always busy and great British pub food. They kept the COVID rules...
K. W.
Went there a few a Saturdays back (for the first time in a couple of years). We'd planned a stop off at a nightclub at Selhurst but found it'd recently moved.
Stuffed everyone into cabs to the Westow and it saved the night. The DJ was playing 90s hip hop on vinyl (mine and the groom's favorite) and it kept the momentum going. They had a great variety of drinks and a lively crowd.
Could do with new speakers though. Some of our favorite classics were barely recognisable.
T. N.
Very decent pub. Tunes, footy and good beers. Good atmosphere too, and stays open late at the weekends.
B. C.
Good food and real ales. Staff very helpful and providing quick service
j. j.
Pleasant and relaxing, the furniture is perhaps a little too much on the shabby side of rustic.
Nice ales, unusual snacks. Perhaps too busy for it's own good sometimes
P. D.
Huge pub with a studenty/music venue feel. Good selection of Ales and efficient staff, but imo the place is too scruffy and barn like to be welcoming for a relaxed drink.
J. L.
I'm a big fan of Westow House (known locally as "The Westow" by many). There is a decent amount of seating and the beer garden out front is a lovely sun trap on a summer's day and it's easy to lose track of the fact that you are next to the man road when your deep in conversation. There's a healthy selection of drinks and the food is pretty good!
S. W.
Great selection of beers. Nice space, good food. Needs some greenery to block off the road though!
S. D.
Nice area great for people watching. The inside is comfy and relaxed and the outside offers plenty of seating. The staff are great. If you're eating you Must try the squid with aioli.
A. A.
Sunday roast its just amazing!! We had two fish and chips and it was the best fish and chips We had for a loongg time. Grab a Hepcat with it and you are set.
J. M.
Food is quite good although it is a little expensive for what you get. Interior is nice but could use a renovation. Service is very slow unfortunately. Nice varied choice of drinks.
A. K.
It was ok. There is a nice vibe but drinks are expensive. 2 glasses of white wine £11.....should have bought a bottle or two and met with friends at home to be honest.
S. Z.
Nice food, a decent tap selection, lovely staff, warm cosy interior, and dog-friendly. It's a place to take it easy though, as it's definitely not the quickest... 😉
T. L.
What they do they do well. Expansion is on the cards and I can see why. Good beer, good food, good staff . They com one this with plenty of decent entertainment and it's easy to see why this is one of the better places to visit in CP.
S. P.
Usually a decent beer selection but sometimes there's crappy live music and the food is not that great. Nice for a pint or two but can be fairly rowdy
B. G.
Always a pleasant experience. Friendly staff. Clean. Decent range of drinks and reasonable quality pub food.
C. W.
Just a lovely pub. Large but cosy and relaxed. Good drink selection good food. Can go alone or with a group. Equally pleasant.
A. C.
A truly great place. Just the right spot for a nice drink with friends or family and the food options aren't that bad either. Service was a bit slow as the place was pretty full, but never the less all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I hate to admit this but they really might have a problem with the bathrooms as whenever we passed by them it smelled awful and I didn't even dare to set food in the ladies room.
H.
Great pub for taking a group of mates. Large indoor & outdoor area. Good selection of beers & ales. Shame that it is currently shrouded in scaffolding.
a. m.
Great pub, good outside space and indoor seating. Exceptional beer choices and food and live bands every Friday. Open late.
A. N.
Great weekend pub!
J. S.
We have visited a few times for drinks and food with friends. It's a fairly big place and they often show sports. The food and service is ok.
J. B.
Decent pub, love the dark oldy decor. Drinks average price for this area and London. Nice bit of music on a weekend
L. B.
Fantastic club, bar and pub. Great food, good beers and cocktails. Nice live music as well if you want to dance!!
B. H.
Love this pub, great food, great veggie options! Staff are so pleasant.,jazz and ska music on a Friday night. Pub quiz on Tuesday,;what more can you ask for!?!
T. L.
Great pub - currently undergoing renovations. Can't wait to see it once it's finished.
V. H.
I like this pub, but I made mistake of coming while quiz was on last tues. nothing against a pub quiz going on, but it was way too loud. Just wanted a quiet drink with a friend, turn the mic down!!
S. D.
Nice area great for people watching. The inside is comfy and relaxed and the outside offers plenty of seating. The staff are great. If you're eating you Must try the squid with aioli.

What they do they do well. Expansion is on the cards and I can see why. Good beer, good food, good staff . They com one this with plenty of decent entertainment and it's easy to see why this is one of the better places to visit in CP.
M. F.
Best pub in Crystal Palace! Huge selection of drinks, including an ever-changing selection of beer, great food, plenty of seats, live music on Fridays, laid back in the day, fun and lively in the evening.
A. R.
Staff attentive and polite. Would definitely be returning but when the weather is a little warmer.
L. M.
Lovely pub better earlier in the day when sun is on the seating area
M. H.
Always a good vibe and a decent DJ. Plenty of places to sit, drink, dance and have fun. Also a wide selection of books, games machines, plenty of drinks and a beer garden! Toilets are horrible!!!
s. a.
Good choice of craft beers. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Not had the Food but looks good. A bit more than pricey, expensive!
R. G.
A splendid 1850s building, but the bar/restaurant space is a bit too barn-like.
Keep an eye out for improvement when current, major, building works are complete.
M. D.
Despite the work being done on the outside. Lovely and warm fot this time of the year. Homely food big portion main meak but l didn't like starter or desert.
D. L.
Fabulous staff and great atmosphere. Highly recommended. Derek
A. G.
A nice place to chill and meet and dine and drink..

Brilliant pub! Ample outdoor seating. Great pub quiz on a Tuesday with a cash price and amazing live music every Friday!

P. G. P.
Very pleasant pub with friendly staff.
N. M.
Nice pub. Shows the football which is a big plus. Good if you like burgers too.
B. D.
Good service and food. Prices acceptable. Thank u
M. W.
Good selection of beer. But bloody freezing in November and some of the tables are too low for legs to fit under
F. B.
Rasta door man was very pleasant
Waiting girls were also very nice & helpful
D. C.
Nice decor. Reasonable selection of beers and lagers. Didn't eat but the menu looked good.
C. L.
Good option around the triangle, although there's better places to go nearby. Understandably staff are stressed out at the moment but (some of them) could be more professional.
R. G.
Good choice of ales, nice food reasonably priced. Could gain from refurbishing the toillet( I am a man) as it smells sometimes and it looks beat up.
A.
Lovely pub, good beers, great food, nice atmosphere. Plus a foosball table, say no more!
A. S.
Good selection of dogs, pub cat, food is a bit fussy and they do often end up with just the once cider on. Loud at weekends.
M. K.
Simply one of the best pubs in the area. The deco and atmosphere are fantastic and the beers selection one of the best in London.
N. R.
One of the best-stocked Antics in terms of craft and real ale! Large dining area too, with live music at weekends
m. m.
Nice pub with a good selection of craft beers. Overall experience let down by surly staff and slow service
N. B.
I love this pub great drink selection, just a shame the food gone downhill, given it three chances and disappointed each time. Hence the three star rating.
T. L.
Great pub - currently undergoing renovations. Can't wait to see it once it's finished.
S. E.

Great live bands on Friday but not enough staff behind the bar, waiting in line for 20 mins for a drink is a bit much.
S. G.

G. A.
Great local boozer at the heart of the Palace Triangle with some great food. Spacious and efficient friendly staff.
