M. t.Well what can I say, we booked Barton manor of our wedding back 2019 ready to get married in August 2020, the Pandemic altered this and after numerous date changes we settled for New Years Eve 2021 (Great suggestion Andrea) I can honestly say it was the best wedding I have ever been too, I know I may be bias, however guests all said the same! The Hotel staff could not do enough for you they treat every guest like royalty, and myself and the Husband even better if that’s possible, they went out of there way to source a drink that my Dad would like and they delivered! It was amazing from start to finish, Andrea the Hotel manager was brilliant with her advice and suggestions and the added extras she put on for NYE. We really could not be happier, thank you to all the management and your team at Barton Grange I will certainly recommend you and we will return for a stay very soon. Fabulous!!!
N. S.Fantastic over night stay. Rooms were lovely, clean and well presented with some nice touches like the Nespresso machine. Could do with better hairdryers though as they are only the small travel ones.
The spa is beautiful, was so quiet and peaceful. The changing rooms are mixed but have cubicles to get changed in and very clean. Great little gym as well.
We can't wait to come back again!!.
J. M.Last weekend for my birthday my wife and I returned to the Barton Manor hotel due to the excellent experience we had in August.
Our expectations were high, however Andrea and the team raised the bar yet again.
On arrival there was some balloons and a card in our fantastic 2 bedroom Gatehouse which was a really nice personal touch.
The service, food and cleanliness was spot on!
This hotel is absolutely perfect for a break away from the stresses of life as it is set in beautiful grounds with a wonderful swimming pool, Spa and luscious Walled Garden.
We would highly recommend this hotel and again huge thanks to Andrea and her fantastic staff.
L. C.Has recently changed ownership & name. My friend was a wee bit disappointed as she hadn't known. The service was good & food tasty. It lacked a bit of atmosphere but hopefully that will come with time. I wish the new owners well.
p. g.Went for a wedding reception, lots of room and places for photography.
Stairs into dining area and toilets might be an issue for people with who struggle with walking or require wheelchairs but we managed with a pram easily. May be other access arrangements that are not obvious.
Drinks at the bar were reasonably priced, good selection but nothing beyond a standard pub bar.
Food was excellent and very nicely presented, all food arrived promptly and everyone was served within a short time period.
Somewhat toddler friendly due to stairs but generally safe for children to run around carefree.
Could not find any changing facilities for children so just used the downstairs boardroom next to the toilets as the door was unlocked.
Overall lovely place for a wedding reception.

S.Evening meal was really nice, Staff could do with more training, the executive room was ok I have stayed in premier Inns that are on par for less money, my wife booked for a bottle of prosecco to be left in the room on arrival after asking 3 different members of staff over the course of nearly 3 hours it was finally delivered along with the greeting alright fella and no apology. The restaurant staff in the evening are in need of more training. They were friendly enough just not experienced. The staff at breakfast were really good it was just a shame that the breakfast itself was not worth getting up for.

P. W.Leisure facilities and restaurant was great. Really enjoyed the new steam room and the food was high quality. Our room let the experience down unfortunately. Our room was very very tired and quite scruffy really. No glasses provided to go with the bottled water and we had to ask for a kettle. But overall, we had a lovely night away. The rest of the hotel made up for the room. Shout out to our waiter Toby. Very pleasant young chap and very friendly and professional.
C. W.Stayed for a couple of days for work. The hotel is nice rooms were clean and bed was comfy. Nespresso machine in the room was a nice touch but 2 coffee pods is a bit tight. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The food in the walled garden restaurant wasn't good, not much choice and do not order the burger. I've had better from a burger van in a layby. It tasted like sausage meat and had barely and cheese in it.
I'd would stay again but go out to eat.
J. P.Nice hotel and well priced but very basic. Doesn’t feel like a 4 star hotel, if so, a very basic one. Televisions in rooms are quite poor and sound quality is awful. Bath slightly small but still nice bathroom and decent bed. No air con is a downside but basic necessities if staying for a night or two.

S. A.Stayed one night here on way home from Scotland. Checking in was efficient, bed was very comfortable and the room and shower room were very clean. Menu a bit limited, food was average, breakfast was buffet style which we were surprised about due to Covid. Unsure of policy 're masks, all evening staff were wearing them but not all breakfast staff. Out of all the places we've visited in the last 10 days this was the only one where Covid restrictions weren't observed as strictly by some guests and some staff.

G. M.This was our first visit and had considered frequent visits as we had recently left living in the area but will not be stopping here again. Reception and introduction to hotel was very good and had hopes for a good stay. Due to Covid restrictions we were told the pool was "restricted to a maximum of 6 people" and we had phoned in advance to pre-book use of the pool. There were 3 of us in the group and had been advised there would be 2 other people who had also pre booked, but when we attended the pool at our allocated slot we were shocked to discover that there were 9 people already in the pool making it overcrowded as the pool is not as big as the photos on the website makes out. After discussion with the manager it became apparent that there was no management or control of the pool making prebooking a farce and they claimed that provided they are "all one family" then the numbers didn't matter making the numbers restriction and prebooking pointless! Very disappointed as we had travelled over 2 and a half hours expecting a relaxing hour in the pool to start our stay. They offered alternative times but could not guarantee this overcrowding would not happen again. So offered us us a free drink instead which did not compensate for the 2 and a half hour journey and the expected relaxation in the pool.
So as a heads up , anyone who thinks they can pre-book a slot in the pool may be disappointed as this obviously cannot be garenteed.

The food in the restaurant was first class and the service couldn't have been any better especially the restaurant manager. Another positive for me was that they could accommodate my gluten free diet, adapting where necessary. Service around the rest of the hotel was of the same good quality, a pleasant experience all round.

Reception - The girls were efficient and professional but at the same time joined in with the 'Pre-wedding' atmosphere, laughing and joking with all the guests.
The rooms are large and comfortable with all the amenities needed.
Breakfast - hot and cold buffet available with waiter service for Coffee/tea and any other requests.
But for me personally, the Wedding day was a mixture of emotions as late afternoon my Mother of 93 years collapsed in the toilets. The staff manager arranged for cushions and blankets to be brought to make her comfortable whilst breaking down the door and waiting for the ambulance service to arrive. The Head of Staff ( I didn't get her name) was absolutely amazing, She was calm, professional but had so much empathy, reassuring me that my mother was in good hands and that they would stay and help in anyway they could.
Luckily, my mother was alright and was taken to her room where the manager brought her Sticky Toffee Pudding something my mother had looked forward too all day!
I cannot thank them enough for all their support and help throughout the weekend. I will certainly be returning here myself and will have no hesitation recommending this Hotel to people in the future. Thankyou.

D. P.Me and my wife stayed over on a Friday night and we took advantage of the Friday Fizz offer, it was amazing the menu options are really good and the food that we ordered was really nice. The staff are friendly and very professional, the room was clean and tidy with everything you need and my wife took full advantage of the coffee machine. In the morning it was a buffet style breakfast with a wide range of food available, which all looked very good and tasted really nice. We definitely will be returning.

(A number of guests were vegan though not myself) Friendly and polite staff. Toilets were clean.Altogether a great place for a wedding reception.

L. M.Barton Grange is a fabulous hotel. Stayed two nights for work. The food is fantastic, the staff are very friendly. I stayed in room 112 the only issue was the TV that did not always work properly. I reported it and the next time I was in the room it was fixed. Great hotel

We all had a fabulous day and night. The food was out of this world. The rooms were beautiful and the beds so comfy I didn't want t get out for breakfast but I'm glad I did because it didn't disappoint in any way. Definitely deserves the four stars if not more. Would absolutely recommend a stay there or a wedding there

S. A.Very very very disappointing! Place was not as clean as expected given the pandemic! Breakfast was great and on monday in particular the waitress was exceptional! Nothing was too much for her they gave us an upgrade because we was lied to - was assured the sauna would be working and we have to book slots - due to social distancing. However the sauna was NOT working at all. We was told the Jacuzzi would work - there is NO Jacuzzi! My booking was made on those terms so i was very very disappointed! You can get other hotels very near, ckeaner with better facilities This is NOT a 4* in my opinion! The architect, grounds and location are truly beautiful but that's it! Disappointed in booking.com too. May not use that site again as this is not the first time ive been sad with their reviews!

G. H.Due to mobility problems stayed in Barton Grange Hotels Lodge accommodation. All on one level nice comfy accommodation with all the amenities needed when away from home. If wanted there is a pool, gym. Plus more pampering for the ladies. Anything, not available just dial 0. And the staff will try to accommodate your needs. Recommended.

The room was lovely and slightly quirky with the hidden bathroom and the bed was very comfortable.
The food was lovely in the restaurant and the service was good with very pleasant and helpful staff.
The wedding went superbly and the MC was excellent ensuring everything ran smoothly.
All the staff were excellent on the day and catered for anything that was requested by the guests.
The wedding meal was beautiful and a lot of the guests commented on how nice it was.
We used the swimming pool and sauna during our stay and they were a real bonus.
Our whole experience of the Barton Grange was extremely enjoyable and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel

C. H.My Wife Used to work for Barton Grange but not at the hotel. We attended as a guest to a.wedding and it was well catered. Food was great and good times. The bar area is ample size but could have done with more seating area outside the main room. Balcony area was welcomed for it was hot that day.

A. R.Visited this venue as a day delegates on a corporate event so can't speak for the hotel side of the business.
Easy to find in a semi rural location with masses of free parking. The reception and public places are well maintenance and looked after. We were in one of the large meeting rooms that was right for our event. It was a cold day and the heating in that room was barely adequate.
Lunch comprised of sandwiches with chips and a limited selection of deserts and fruit as was ordered.
Overall, would recommend.

The food was excellent, equally so for the buffet style lunch, the 3 course evening meal and hot and cold breakfast. P.I have stayed in this hotel for work in a few occasions. The staff are friendly and attentive , good food , restaurant is nice with a snug area attached for drinks and chilling prior to meal. My only criticism were the pillows were too hard
s.Visited for a wedding. Bernie was a staff member who really stood out, she was efficient and oversaw the management of the wedding party group. More than that, she was friendly, helpful and nothing could be too much trouble.
The gardens were beautiful, with lavender boarders full of bees and butterflys. A lovely wedding venue by all accounts.

K. P.We visited for a Friday Fizz package which included a 3 course meal, a bottle of fizz and an overnight stay with breakfast. Our room was lovely, in a separate building to the main hotel, but obviously recently renovated. It had everything we needed and a really big comfy bed! The meal was from the Homegrown Menu...and it was absolutely delicious. From the setting in The Walled Garden and the service down to the quality and presentation of the food. We couldn't fault it AT ALL! The only *slight* disappointment was breakfast which was a self service buffet style affair. After the quality of the meal the night before we expected a table service breakfast and food cooked to order. It was ok...but perhaps a little luke-warm and definitely with a mass produced quality. We have already recommended the room and the menu to others...and we'll definitely return for another meal :)

However, appeared to be a bit short staffed especially as I watched a lady stand at the bar for around 10 mins without being served. WiFi is free but doesn't work. All in all a really nice hotel but some areas for improvement.

S. S.After the last 14 /15 years having an annual Xmas party night with our friends, we chose Barton Grange this year. It was the best party night we've had ( and we've had some good ones ) from start to finish it was fantastic, so much so that we have booked again for next year, and we've never done that before. We stayed over at the hotel and that was excellent as well, especially the buffet breakfast. Can't wait for next year.

Some staff were working multiple roles and didn't have the appropriate training, which wasn't their fault. Mistakes were made. Senior management need to give staff more time to train for different roles.
A. S.Nice looking hotel but if you are asked to stay in the annex be prepared. It's essentially a house with each room sectioned off and converted into a bedroom. The furnishings etc whilst comfortable are extremely out dated and the worst thing was that there wasn't any air conditioning.

I. S.I returned to the Walled Garden for yethical another lovely evening. The food was delicious, atmosphere relaxing and the staff make you feel special. On Friday evening there was live music, and guitarist playing beautiful background music.

M. M.I went there to attend wedding. It is a lovely place with lot of open area. There is free parking as well. The only problem was the toilets were over flowing, nobody looked after it.

The food is excellent, the residential rooms are comfortable and best of all, the staff are lovely, nothing is too much trouble for them. Highly recommended.
