Nice room, decent breakfast. Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful.
However the in room tea making facilities are not brilliant (very little milk for example). Breakfast was a bit random, some items were really well labeled, others weren't labelled at all so had no idea what it was. The breakfast tea making facilities were overly complicated. Another thing of note, there was no provision for EV charging, quite an issue in the modern world for a motorway services.

Amazing hotel lovely room, if you want a separate shower get a odd number room.like 309, the room is big warm and so comfortable. In the bathroom you will have a bath and a beautiful walk in shower.

Great value for money!
Booked 3 rooms here for 1 night on Friday 04/02/22 via Expedia. First impressions were excellent, the girl at the front desk that evening was really lovely and couldn't have been more helpful (I'm afraid I didn't catch her name). The rooms although a little run down, were exceptionally clean, the rooms were warm (great you can adjust the radiators yourself), the water was hot and there was plenty of shower pressure, in most cases that is all you ask for. We unfortunately didn't get the opportunity to test the restaurant. We did however, have a drink in the bar that evening, the barman was jovial and there was a good atmosphere. My only bemoan is that £6.50 a pint is a little steep even for a hotel bar (£20.80 - 2 pints, 1 hot chocolate and 1 coke). Breakfast had a wide selection of choices and the full english was one of the best i've had. There was only one lady serving breakfast who was an angel and doing her absolute best but she definitely could have used an extra pair of hands for the refills. Overall lovely staff and a great stay, we travel to the north regularly to visit family for the weekend and we will stay here again.

The hotel staff very polite and friendly, the room was a great size, especially the bed!.. the room was lovely and clean and the bathroom spotless. The furniture is a bit tired but functional. We had our evening meal in the restaurant which was amazing! The drinks at the bar are very expensive which is disappointing.... breakfast was a let down, we got to the restaurant at 9am , they had run out of sausage, there wasn't a choice of egg,no mushrooms or hash browns, the fresh fruit had also run out...such a shame as other than that the hotel is great value for money

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room was comfortable. View from the window was lovely. Breakfast was great.
S. B.
The food was ok, the environment was good and quiet. The issues I had were
1) the menu is very limited
2) lots of items weren't available
3) no salt and pepper
4) wasn't offered desert menu or coffee after mains
I would be willing to give it another go in the future it just maybe was a bad time to visit at 6pm on a Sunday

After just staying in a 5 star new hotel just before staying here I expected a big difference given its bargain cost but I'm very impressed faded decor yes but very clean tidy staff very friendly I was very impressed. Breakfast was very well cooked and service with a smile was excellent. Plus lovely waking up and seeing a swan on the close by river and the Heron just opposite. A lovely stay

Amazing service from Daisy at reception, we were in a tough situation with our electric car running out and no charge points close by.
She managed to get us plugged in at 9pm to charge enough to get to our destination while we had a drink in the lounge.
Very appreciated. 👏🤩

Quite a dated hotel but kept up to scratch and lovely and clean the guys in reception were excellent very friendly and helpful well done x.pete.

Comfy bed and clean room. Nice and quiet. Fabulous food and a good selection of drinks. Recommended
P. F.
Lovely hotel in a great location. Quiet, despite the proximity to the motorway and with a beautiful view of the river from the room. Excellent value for money, friendly staff, a good breakfast and everywhere spotlessly clean.
B. B.
Lovely place to stay, rooms were a good size and very clean, breakfast was amazing staff very friendly
A. P.
Rooms are possibly a little dated, clean enough & friendly staff and helpful though, room felt like a sauna though, would be good to get some better ventilation in the room, had to keep the fan on all night which is little noisy and window open but then can hear the nearby motorway, perhaps some aircon would be better.
M. T.
Great breakfast and restaurant food, not s plush modern hotel but very comfortable and excellent service.

We had to book in at last minute after it took 4 hours to drive 100 miles and we couldn't face the rest of our journey home. Reception were extremely helpful and emailed us the restaurant menu so that we could choose food and it would be ready on arrival as we were due to arrive 15 minutes before the restaurant closed. The staff at reception and in the restaurant, both at dinner and breakfast, were very helpful and attentive. The food was lovely if slightly expensive. Although the Thai Red Curry could have done with more spice, it was very tasty and the lamb shank was cooked to perfection. The hotel's location at motorway services made it ideal for a stopover to break our journey and I would definitely use this hotel again.

Just like to say Thanks to Hayden and Elle.
Hayden was absolutely fantastic in dealing with my stressful predicament, he remained super cool and professional while making whatever was wrong, right! He’s the biggest asset to this hotel! also Elle’s customer care was impeccable, just the kind of person you want to see when you’re away from home!
Two great staff members!
Look after them.....

Seriously underwhelming. Booked in for three nights only to find that the restaurant is closed. Great.
So I had the extra hassle of booking places to eat after working all day, in the middle of the school holidays when everyone is holidaying in Britain so most places are busy.
Then some oaf decides to burn some toast and set off the fire alarm early in the morning. Most hotels have toasters where the controls are not accessible by guests so this should be totally avoidable.
Then whilst all the guests are standing around in the freezing rain the staff are totally disorganised about when people can go in and I only find out we can go back in by talking to other guests. No fire marshall apparently.
Then later the same day I come back from work after leaving the "please service room" sign on the door all day to find still no towels, still no toilet rolls and still a full bin.
Then reception decide they're not answering the phone cos they're busy, so I have to fetch the new towels and toilet rolls from reception without any apology from the staff.
Possibly one of the top ten most disorganised hotels I've been to, and I've been to hundreds.
A lovely view of the river Ribble from my window though, and the bed is dead comfortable, and the shower is great.
A. H.
Hotel may be a little tired but the place is clean, the staff are great and the breakfast is amazing ...best sausages and bacon we have ever tasted.
.
J. Q.
Brilliant staff( nothing to much trouble) very clean rooms and a good breakfast. The negatives are the rooms are very tired and in need of an update. We found the restraunt prices high ( drinks over priced)but will deffinetly stay again because of the lovely staff.
T.
Lovely place we stopped at for a warm drink. A million times better than any motorway coffee stop. Such an amazing atmosphere and staff. What a coffee and view!
W. C.
Great service - when I realised I had left my laptop in my room after staying there, reception staff arranged for it to be delivered to my home address, and even packaged the laptop and labelled the parcel.
s. w.
Excellent facilities, really cosy and comfortable stay. Best sleep in a while!
M. B.
Situated in a good strategic position, conveniently adjacent to Junction 31 on the M6 near Preston. The building is attractive and is directly on the banks of the river Ribble.
The reception and bar areas were well designed and welcoming. Meanwhile aspects of the bedroom(s) were tired. The second time we stayed, neither the TV or telephone worked. However, after a trip to reception the problems were soon sorted out. The beds in both rooms we stayed in were of a good quality and comfortable.
On our first visit we thought the staff excellent. But, unfortunately, on our second visit we had a bit of a run in with the receptionist when we arrived. She couldn't accept the promotional rate we'd paid in advance included breakfast. She said we weren't paying enough. And only accepted it did, when I found a confirmation email on my phone! The way it was handled was a bit disappointing.
Overall we were satisfied with our overnight stops, mainly because we had secured an exceptional promotional price, and the location happened to be just right for us.
k. h.
Nice friendly atmosphere was a reduced menu and service stopped at 7pm which was a bit inconvenient as didn't arrive til just after 6pm food was acceptable only had a burger which was nice but only just cooked throu would visit again
5 star breakfast
I. W.
Nice clean room with a view over the Ribble. Lovely staff and great breakfast. TV remote was the wrong one for my tv, but nice to get up and change the channels. ;-)
R. J.
Stay here regularly. Clean and comfortable. Great breakfast
D.
Excellent, fabulous 👌 best hotel I've stayed at for years
S. S.
Room was nice but restaurant fully booked so taxi required to town.
Bar price seems a bit steep at £6.00
Work mate had to room change as not been cleaned in a while
L. M.
No restuarant open. Rooms not cleaned properly from one day to the next. No tea or milk for hot drinks. Not great
A. M.
A real let down from a decent brand. Bit like a Travelodge with Bar.
D. G.
Great location fantastic staff. Are evening meals were not great I had high expectations for the Scottish meat night. Let down. The room was basic and dated the strong smell of damp was dew to the flood the previous weekend on the ground floor. Didn't expect to find out of another customer maybe a notice in the foyer would put peoples mind at rest. The breakfast was fantastic everything about it was excellent. Great choice nothing to much for the staff they catered for your every need.will call in for breakfast again.
C. B.
A well placed hotel just outside Preston next to the motorway. Traffic noise was audible but not too intrusive. I enjoyed the view over the river and waking up to a heron finding its morning catch. The room itself was a bit tired and in need of a revamp. Breakfast was ok and the bar area comfortable. Overall practical and convenient
J. N.
Stayed for one Saturday night so we could attend a play at Preston Playhouse.
Good service post Covid obviously operating with reduced staffing, which is to be expected but everyone worked extremely hard to compensate excellent breakfast, clean and tidy rooms, close enough to Preston to get a taxi £8ish
M. C.
Excellent location, extremely highly recommended for biz trips.
Rooms are extraordinarily comfortable, big and very clean.
Very appreciated the electric armchair for relaxing after a day with long meetings.
Staff is nice and friendly.
Excellent quality/price ratio.
Internal steakhouse with very good meat at fair price.
Bar with a good selection of gins.
D. D.
Fantastic hotel, which I have been fortunate to visit several times on business.
Always excellent service and standard of menus from the specialist steak dishes to even the salads.
Rooms have been excellent every time I have stayed over with a similarly excellent breakfast service too.
Huge connections to the local BAe Systems business just literally 5 mins up the road, but also excellent links to the motorway, services and onward journeys in The Lakes or fishing expeditions on the adjacent river.
Hope to return again soon.
J. M.
We stay here at least 3 times a year to break up our drive to Scotland. Everytime we have stayed the service has been great. The food is perfect, breakfast being an awesome start to the day and we have always sleep so well in very comfortable beds.
The location for a stop over is brilliant being just off the M6 however you wouldn't know it with the rooms being do quiet.
Never had any issues or complaints.
We have tried other stopover hotels before but have agreed that this hotel is by far better than others tried and will always be our first choice.
L. R.
Lovely hotel, food excellent although drink is expensive. Staff were polite and courteous. We're upgraded to executive room as fully booked at no extra cost. Only downside was your view was the.car park rather than the river. Would stay again as very easy to get to.
J. T.
Nice hotel in a great location, it was a traditional hotel room with a real key - there's something comforting about that. My room was spotlessly clean and the bed wasn't bad (I've paid more at other places and got a lot less!). Room service was prompt and reasonably priced, the food was lovely too. I found the staff to be really friendly and helpful - really lovely and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.
J. M.
There was nothing wrong with it. But it wasn't what you'd expect from a McDonald hotel. It was more like a premier Inn ready for refurbishment
A. V.
Hotel was amazing. Typical British interior design. Hotel staff very kind and helpful. Room was very spacious, and clean, bed fantastic. Beautiful garden in the back yard, perfect for morning coffee. I would recommend and will come again.
P. U.
Well maintained, older hotel on a motorway junction but very peaceful and quiet.
Pleasant breakfast with excellent black pudding.
Room slightly chilly, but that's better than too hot.
J. H.
We needed a place halfway on our journey north from Hampshire and this was perfect. Just off the M6 but with views of the river Ribble from our comfortable bed. We ate in the bar and the food was good, staff were friendly and the Liverpool v Norwich match was on the TV. This suited my partner but didn’t disturb the ambience. Nice to be able to wander out for fresh air on the decking. Only gripe was it was too warm.
J. L.
Nice hotel overall, food good although perhaps a little pricey. Rooms clean and comfortable - quite sparse on toiletries - 1 small bar of soap and very small shampoo in a twin room - so soap had to be used for sink and shower. Bathroom door hook missing leaving just a hole in the door! Staff attentive and helpful. Be aware that M6 very close which convenient but a steady hum of traffic.
S. G.
Enjoyed a lovely one night stay. The staff were great and the room was very clean. The room was a little too hot. Awoke in the morning and could have done with a hit drink (it was available in the room but hidden in a draw) but did not find it until we were about to leave. Could do with serving breakfast a little earlier on a Sunday.
M. P.
One of my favourite hotels
J. S.
Had a nice room 320 on the third floor with a view of the river. The room was dusty in places due to lack of housekeeping and we had to ask for toilet roll and milk.Well done to the bar manager for giving us food when we arrived at the hotel at 8pm after a snotty receptionist refused us any food.Chaos all round not good!
w. c.
Bathroom poorly planned, toilet was way too close to the wall to be able to even use it. All areas were fantastically clean and well provisioned and the hotel is in a good location for the motorway. We did have to wait a little while to be seated for breakfast even though the dining area wasn't busy and breakfast order still incorrect after confirming the request 3 times. The food was good however and buffet area well stocked. I won't re visit but if youre only there a night on the way to somewhere else then I can't see it bringing much issue.
G. J.
Looks a bit grim from the outside, being just off the motorway and next to the services, but the hotel itself is quite pleasant. Rooms are quite spacious. I had a king-size bed which was very comfy although the feathered duvet and pillows have left me itchy.
D. W.
Everything was excellent, we had several rooms for a couple of night for a family wedding. The rooms were very clean and large enough for our needs, the breakfast was also very good. The best part was the staff, the were helpful, pleasant, nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
L. A.
Very comfortable hotel. Too warm for me but nice to know that they don't skimp.very clean too. Able to accommodate gluten free at breakfast..but no gluten free condiments or baked beans. The got cheese and roasted pepper hot sandwich with GF bread was sumptuous and the cakes in the Lounge gained family approval. Staff very approachable and helpful.
Shame that at breakfast today no GF toast or sausages due to kitchen maintenance so breakfast was limited for some guests.
M. M.
Convenient hotel set up as a meeting venue just off the M6. Good surroundings & atmosphere, good coffee. I use it often and will continue to use it. Car parking can be hard sometimes because it's so popular.
J. C.
We stayed at the Tickled Trout on a dinner bed and breakfast deal. The dinner was excellent, with excellent, attentive staff. Our room was very nice, comfortable and quiet. Our breakfast was also very good, though the coffee from a machine was a bit rank. All in all we had a nice relaxing time and would certainly go again.
P. F.
Very comfortable bed and good sized but strange shaped room. The Ragu was very disappointing with lots of meat but none of the tomato richness I would expect from a Ragu. The sauce didn't cost the pasta like it should. Sticky Toffee pudding was delicious. Breakfast was extensive but I just had the porridge which was lovely. Service for. Service at the evening meal and breakfast was excellent. The WiFi was so poor I gave up trying to work. The hotel really needs to get decent WiFi or business customers will stop booking. WiFi is an essential service in a modern hotel. I would not book again because the WiFi prevented me working. Happy to recommend for a weekend break.
V. B.
An ideal hotel to stop over after a works night, very helpful and friendly staff who go above and beyond for all their guests. Breakfast was very tasty with many options available, beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds! Excellent showers too, would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
M. K.
Having stayed a couple of times, I can now say the pattern remained. A lot of traffic noise can be heard from the very nearby roundabout/main road.
Our dinners were acceptable, unfortunately not wonderful. Breakfast took 20 minutes to arrive and had the wrong egg request.
The bar staff were friendly, however and looked after us well, despite a busy night.
Rooms I had were clean and adequate, however a little tired looking in places (worn carpet and tiling in places) but is forgivable for a building of its age,
T. M.
The hotel staff were mostly friendly. There were a few problems with our booking, so make sure you have a copy of your check in voucher to resolve any issues. We also booked breakfast with our bed, but unknown to us there were several …

Perfect location for business meetings in the North/North-West and good value for money a minute from M6 junction. Well appointed bedrooms, good choice of meeting rooms. Main selling point was the food, best calamari I have tasted, you would be pushed to find better cooked in a Michilin starred restaurant. And if you dine between 1745 and 1845 there is a happy hour menu £19 for 3 courses. Staff cheerful and attentive. I have deducted 1 star for low level hum from nearby M6, but would not affect most people and easily fixed with ear plugs, so would have no qualms staying again.
D. H.
Lovely hotel, very friendly staff. Stayed a few times very comfortable and conveniently situated for the M6. Always call in for coffee and sometimes a meal when I'm passing. Alongside the River Rubble. I would recommend.
M. U.
this place was INSANE! i can't believe the front desk service, the manager and even the staff. me and my friend were working there and we got offered free drinks, we got to eat the food which was DELICIOUS and most of all, they were really at our beck and call like we got a table set up out of nowhere. one minute it's an empty table - the NEXT there was a water, napkins, forks and knives salt pepper - amazing!! deffo going there again!
a.
Really lovely hotel. Rooms v spacious. Staff were lovely and breakfast and dinner first class. Great value for money. Just what we needed on our way home from leaving out daughter at Manchester uni.
A. R.
The car park was almost full when i got there and i was early so i know a number of others did have an issue.
They have a restaurant with views of the river so you can watch people walking up and down. The food in the restaurant was reasonable and prompt service. Though the menu was slightly pretentious.
The meeting room was quite a walk through a rabbit warren of corridors.
Then you need a keycode to get out of the car park.
D. N.
Good spacious rooms, mine had a calming river view and although the batteries in the remote were dead, the problem was sorted promptly by the reception staff. The steak house offers a great selection as well as a comprehensive wine list to pair. I had the continental breakfast included in my stay but upgraded twice to the signature as there isn't much on offer that suited my tastes. The signature is delicious and you can tell that the meat is sourced from a good butcher/ supplier and is worth the extra £7 in my opinion. The desert menu wasn't to my tastes but in lactose intolerant and every selection on the menu had ice-cream or dairy, although I did not ask for an alternative as I was pleasantly full after my meals. Amenities access is good considering the location, as there's a petrol station adjacent with a subway, Costa and a larger than expected supermarket all in in one building. Overall, very pleased and will be staying again when I have the chance.
J. R.
The room could do with a refresh but the food and service were great
J. H.
Getting into the car park was frustrating as all you see is a barrier and you aren't aware that the barrier lifts automatically. We had a pleasant meal. Surroundings classy. The waitress was sweet and attentive. The price was on the high side. Getting out of car park was similarly irritating. No-one had volunteered the exit code as we left reception so we had to get out again in the cold and rain and ask for it.
T. H.
Positives: Well run, great staff, clean and tidy, surprisingly quiet considering it is very close to the M6, good breakfast. Negatives: Car park was proper chokka, a £5 delivery charge for room service food (A fiver for a one minute walk! Never come across that before! Sheer corporate greed!) and no mains sockets next to the bed, only on the other side of the room - not very practical for today's traveller. Another benefit is the garage/shop next door - ideal for stocking up on essentials.
S. M.
Sadly not good. Some very strange smells in varying areas of the hotel notably top of first flight of stairs. Rooms dated but bathrooms very modern and clean. Generally a nice place if the tartan carpets get cleaned. Hoovering is futile now!
N. C.
This hotel was fine enough to stay in. We were only overnight guests as we attended a wedding at a nearby venue. Overall the hotel is very nice. The internal decor is modern with a classicy kind of vibe. The rooms are fairly big and the bathrooms are okish, slightly on the small side, however, the shower makes up for it. Very good pressure. Moving onto the actual bed, in room 318, wasn't all that comfy, it had a massive dip in the middle so I kept waking up finding myself rolling into my wife. Also, your sat nav will take you the long way round, come of and go through the services at that junction to avoid a long trip down a road. Overall, it was a lovely place to stay at (the cooked breakfast is probably a little overpriced for what it is mind).
A. H.
The hotel has a fantastic location just off the M6 motorway. Not too noisy and ideal if you need somewhere to stay, that isn't the usual branded hotel along the motorway. The rooms were stylish, comfortable and elegant. The staff and the service they provided was excellent.
S. S.
Very helpful front desk lady.
We arrived late at night and had issues of my booking not received by hotel. But she called 3rd party website for details whilst arranging room for us. Good multi processing.
I wish they had bit wide corridors
K. t.
I only visited the restaurant area so this review is based purely on that.
The atmosphere is very pleasant, a little Starbucks café like in style with a touch of a British pub as there was a picture of a cow on the wall & other decorations of that nature. It appears to attract business type customers as I looked around & most were dressed for a board meeting & a few had their laptops out. The one staff member that I spoke to was well mannered & kind as she offered to go & get me a plate as my chips came in a tin type holder. The food is very expensive with it costing £3 for water, £4 for straight cut chips & around £15 a meal. For cost alone I definitely won't return but it was nice to try somewhere new (even if I did only buy the hand cut chips for £5 which were nice).
S. G.
Nice hotel with friendly and customer focused staff. Restaurant and bar area very good with great menu, recommend the Pork Chops, very lean and tasty. Large carpark and exit from car park is via code from reception. The rooms are ok but near main road which is very busy and noisy with poor ventilation which makes the room very warm and difficult to sleep.
S. G.
Lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed here while visiting Blackpool to watch our football team Pompey play against Blackpool. We met with family for a meal in the restaurant and it was lovely.
S. M.
Ok hotel. Supposed to be recently renovated but our room was tired. Food takes ages to arrive in the restaurant - great pizzas, appalling calamari. Good breakfast but the coffee machines are poor. Order fresh from the breakfast wait staff instead.
J. M.
Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms and high standard of food although couldn't see a veggie option but I didn't actually look. Good business hotel
A. M.
Average quality rooms stunning setting
D. L.
Nice hotel. Quiet rooms. Friendly staff. Nice views. And convenient location. The food is pretty good. The service is a little light handed but all mean well.
V. L.
Really nice place lovely menu selection. The food I had was very nice and service was great too and with a smile. Often drop in here for meetings and coffee. Plenty of seating and spaced out very well.
P. g.
Mixed feelings about this place, room was very tired and dated and the mattress lumpy so it effected my sleep. However the food was very good. On the question of value for money I would only give this place 2 stars as it was very expensive for what it is,quality of food would be 4 stars and accomodation 2.5 stars and the staff are very friendly they would get 4 star's. All in all if the mattress had not been lumpy would likely have stayed here again but due to this issue I will not be.
J. S.
Lovely hotel, restaurant and bar lounge set by the River Ribble close to Preston and just off the M6. Menu choices are limited with a few select options. Meals are okay but perhaps not warranting the prices. £25 for a 2 course special that wasn't really anything to special.
D. A.
I used this venue to deliver some workshops, so can't comment on the hotel parts.
The location is really easy to find as it is striaght of the motorway. The food we had booked was really nice and I believe there is a wide range of options for corporate lunches.
The only downside was that the carpark was quite small, and some of my attendees struggled to find space.
T.
Nice hotel. It could do with a makeover if im being honest. Took my wife there for her HND course. Staff friendly. Struggled to park, as did many others. Apart from that it was fine.
t. m.
Was ok rooms clean and tidy staff friendly. We took our dog and you are made to feel like a 2nd class citizen I'm afraid. Signing a form with a list of rules for you and your dog seems a bit extreme to me.
W. “. C.
We stayed here because our friends were getting married at Samlesbury Hall so it wasn't too far away. The room was lovely and the bed huge!! We didn't end up having breakfast unfortunately as there had been a mix up at reception with the cost
C. M.
I attended a phonics course at the hotel. What a venue? Excellent facilities, great staff and thoroughly made to feel welcome and looked after. The course was excellent too! Well done Macdonald Tickled Trout Hotel!!!
a. o.
Nice bar and dining areas. Room was clean but dated. Was told breakfast was at 8am so was surprised to find that there was limited choice at 7:30am as 60+ guests has already had breakfast by then...
A. G.
Handy location just off the motorway. Room was clean and spacious. We stayed for one night to split up a long drive and arrived late so didn't have dinner. Lots of options for breakfast - cooked and continental, including vegetarian cooked breakfast.
J. A.
Close to the m6 so expect traffic noise. Whilst Windows are double glazed they are old and u can still hear the traffic. Rooms could do with updating but this was probably reflected in the price if £89 for a night midweek. Great view of the river if u book a river room
e. f.
Good hotel petrol station close buy
H. C.
Exceptional food. Very polite staff. The rooms are a little tired and shabby
B. S.
Best Hotel within miles of Preston or Blackpool, Breakfast is Excellent and staff are so dedicated to Service you can't be disappointed in the restaurant, The longest serving receptionist questions why we have brought a guide dog to stay with us even though it's obvious she is totally registered Blind.
R. J.
Location: convenient, room: adequate, small double bed & no ceiling light, only lamps which was bizarre. Service: good, very busy but staff were friendly & although they forgot my order for dinner, were quick to rectify. It was busy due to Christmas party so no complaints.
K. C.
Had a great stay with our Granddaughter, for her pre birthday celebration. The staff are brilliant and a special mention for Edyto, restaurant manager who organised a great birthday cake and candles😁 Thank you so much guys. A brilliant stay making 6 year old very very happy x
A. M.
Amazing place lovley and clean lovley staff will stay here again
M. J.
Very very nice place with a lovely view of the river. I only stopped for a drink but the service was excellent and the prices were very fair. All in all I highly recommend a visit and will be calling in again.
B. B.
We came for a Christmas party. The welcome in to the bar area was great. We were then ushered down to a function room which didn't have a single Christmas decoration in it.
Now, bearing in mind this was a Christmas party, that seemed rather daft! The food was gorgeous though, I can't criticise it one bit.
Then we move on to the DJ. All he did was take requests for a continuous selection of poorly matched music, again containing not a single Christmas song.
So, all in all it was a decent night but for me, a Christmas party should be a Christmas party, decorations and cheesy music about Father Christmas!
D. H.
Really impressed, handy pit stop with very friendly staff, comfortable rooms and they take dogs. Food deal was good if you book dinner, b&b.
C. C.
Travelling from Somerset to Scotland stopped off on road home. Great location just off M5 J31 and 1st exit off roundabout to join M5. Very warm welcome from reception staff and intrtto facilities. Room was great but toilet so close to wall and sink so have to squeeze in and I'm average size man. Bed comfy and room overlooking River. Breakfast was included in our deal but expensive if not on B&B at £16.95 pp for cooked breakfast. There is a subway in BP garage next door. Would go back but on a deal
L. H.
Excellent accommodation, reasonably priced, excellent staff
G. T.
Firstly excellent positioning to the M6 although waiting for the traffic on that roundabout getting outwas like waiting for God.
So too reception and I hardly believed my luck when the very attractive receptionist asked me for my number, unfortunately this was for the records and no out of hours fun
Room was a good size had everything you would need including a volcanic hairdryer for my locks
Rooms even come with a gown and slippers although it is frowned upon to wear this to the bar and restaurant of an evening
The shower was a good size, even if the receptionist wanted some fun we could have both easily got in there and seriously it's so hot I actually steamed my veg for dinner
Bed was wicked and comfy that even the evening hookers I paid for ever stayed the night
Food was also of excellent quality as was the standard of the bar/restaurant staff
All in all an excellent stay for me, well done Tickled Trout
O. P.
Dining was ok, however, Krishna was amazing; very helpful and polite.
M. 1.
I came here for a 2 days course through work and it was lovely. All the staff were lovely and the rooms were decorated nicely. They offered refreshments and a lovely lunch.
M. P.
Good service, plenty of free parking and easy to get to from the main routes.
A large hotel with meeting and conference centre. Food is excellent and service is always on hand.
Worth a visit for business or pleasure.

Could do with a makeover. Breakfast was good. Dinner was OK. A couple of members of staff made up for the hotel's shortcomings - they made our daughter very happy by giving her a lot of attention!
J. S.
Our favourite stopping place on way to Bonnie Scotland!
b. m.
Lovely wee stop over on the way home, nice comfy rooms, great nights sleep, welcoming bar & restaurant, great breakfast and the staff are brilliant from start to finish, used it numerous times and always happy.
M. C.
It is excellent and exactly what I was wishing for. The staff are very friendly and attentive. My room is in a spotless condition. Thank you all.
C. C.
Despite the weather, had lovely relaxed time, enjoyed coffee & cake in lounge overlooking River Ribble, good service. Excellent access & facilities for mobility challenged,
J. D.
Fast , functional , efficient and hassle free. Could do with checking postcode on either website or confirmation email as one of them takes you off course. Would stay again :)
M. E.
Nice hotel if a bit difficult to find the entrance to. Rooms are clean. Mine had a lovely view of the river. Conference room was the perfect size for our event.
T. M.
Have visited here twice. We were disappointed on our second visit with our meal choices. We had been looking forward to the carvery but it appears they no longer provide that. Other than that our stay was as one would expect in this standard of hotel. The staff were very nice.
J. C.
Excellent dinner wasn't up to scratch but the staff where amazing about it.. beautiful breakfast. clean fresh room beautiful pillows would Defo stay again :)
L. C.
Nice hotel along the motorway. Unfortunately busy road so no chance to sleep with the window open. Very good bed. Good restaurant. Friendly staff.
D. S.
Situated on River Ribble on the outskirts of Preston city, nice ,ambient hotel, bathroom was spacious, bathtubs were smaller than normal size, very courteous staff, allowed check-in little early without any extra charge.would love to comeback.
L. T.
Good spot. Handy location. Rooms dated but clean. Food is decent if pricey. Beer dull. Staff lovely.
J. S.
Great location for break if travelling North as just off motorway. Lovely scenery along side the river. Comfortable, clean rooms. Good service & delicious food. Not budget prices.
j. g.
Public areas modern and contemporary , the suite we stayed in had furniture from the 70's in it. Cleaners had missed part's of the bathroom and cups had stains in them. Had to clean before use.
P. R.
Nice clean hotel with good restaurant. It is located just off a motorway with nothing else around it. You have to drive past the hotel then u turn back to the entrance, nice helpful staff especially on the reception desk. Drinks are very expensive.
S. G.
Great for all garden and bird food and tropical fish + all you need for garden ponds. There's also a clothes section and cafe . The cafe serves great food and drink and there is a art gallery where you can buy pictures/paintings . Great garden centre to visit .
A. I.
Nice hotel,enjoyed.

Nice hotel easy to find
Friendly staff pretty good food room was good size bed was amazing and super huge bathroom a bit small. On the whole worth a stay
L. P.
Arrived for a work meeting, pretty busy but it was still suitable enough for the talk. Had drinks and dinner, everything was spot on. There was no issue and everything came in a timely manner even when it was quite busy.
A. W.
Really nice hotel room toilet was a bit on the cramped side, but other than that a good choice of accommodation for an overnight stay. Friendly staff, clean room, good breakfast and nice bar area to relax in.
j. s.
Obviously not doing a full menu just sandwiches soups and hot and cold drinks.Pleasant greeting nice place good attentive service food was excellent although limited.Nice lunch in convivial surroundings

H. H.
Absolutely stunning place. Beautifully decorated with a great bar and lounge area. Friendly and helpful staff who were on hand even at 2am!
D. C.
Love this hotel and although it's just off the M6 you wouldn't know. Quiet room. Comfy bed. It was bliss. Already booked for next year.
S.
Premises look quite good, food and drinks not the best value for money and the staff...well the best thing that could happen to that place is a nice receptionist. The rest look at you as if UFO has arrived :) :) :)
k. n.
Visited for a meal at the restraunt which was good and enjoyable. The service however seemed slow to get food on the table especially with desert and we had some struggle with language/accent barrier.
S. E.
We didn't actually stay here but met friends for drinks who were. A bit overpriced for food and drink. Our friends told us how the rooms stank and didn't seem very clean.
M. B.
Very elegant hotel, we didn’t have a plan to stay there, but feeling tired while driving from lands end to Aberdeen made us plan to have one stop in the hotel, everything inside the hotel is amazing, crew are friendly, breakfast is delicious and view on the river is nice
Rooms are furnished well
S. R.
Awesome property close to motorway. Easy access. We just went for morning coffee, which was lovely and they had nice pastries.
G. R.
Very friendly staff and good facilities. I enjoyed sitting in the bar area. Was good o To spend some time there and I would certainly visit again.
S. D.
Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff, Chelsea who works on the bar is amazing and so friendly! Really knows her stuff and great rapport with the customers, 10/10.
M. G.
Rooms were a good size. Needs a bit of modernisation but the hotel had a great feel to the place. Will stay again!
T. H.
Restaurant staff are miserable and orders are normally wrong - long waiting times for food. The hotel room itself is great though.
G. C.
Hotel is lovely, rooms were ridiculously affordable but clean and comfy, couldnt have been better.
B.
Great view of the lake, good is fantastic although the staff in the restaurant were a little slow and cold breakfast is extra even after paying for breakfast. All very well priced and friendly staff
A. R.
I regularly have meetings here with clients, however struggle to park every time. I was fifteen minutes late for my most recent meeting as I was unable to get in to this car park, and had to wait for multiple trucks to move to get in to the other one!
E. M.
Food was good, although the potato wedges were over done and the portions were a little on the small side for the price. The staff were very friendly. Have been before and would visit again though.
n. n.
Very good hotel with great view to the river. A good steack restaurant. Very calm and quite. Great place to prepare meetings
H. G.
Good food, efficient service. Mattress needed turning as dipped in the middle. Bathroom very tight. But overall very good.

A good location but very expensive food. (£12 for a club sandwich!) and very slow service. Unlikely that I will go there again for lunch.
H. M.

The hotel was lovley and modern on the ground floor and restaurant area, rooms could do with up dating, friendly staff. Nice stay overall.
j. r.
Can be a pain to get there due to traffic, however has beautiful view of the river which runs right beside it. The staff were very professional and catered perfectly to our needs.
S. R.
Lovely public bar had great coffee and cake plus service with a smile and great outlook over river. Will definitely go back.
L. W.
Excellent service and food. Would certainty recommend.
k. e.
Great hotel. Had free up grade on room . Very nice food and drink and staff.
D. S.
Staying for business Room was comfortable if a bit dated... No power socket anywhere near the bed to charge a phone (why is this always the case in hotels) staff were freindly but had some minor communication issues (special breakfast sitting had been arranged for us early but receptionist was not aware of this when we checked in)
G. G.
Food is good but service is the slowest ive ever experienced. Over 2 hrs for 2 courses. Rooms are ok but a bit dated. Meeting rooms are good.
L. P.
Friendly staff, great food and clean rooms with comfortable beds. Their is a relaxing area to the back of resteraunt & pub that over looks the river.
M. F. S. A. B.
Fantastic visit. Table reserved outside on the terrace, food was excellent and the staff were fantastic, friendly and efficient. Highly recommend this place.
M.
Room ok... eventually after 4th attempt (the first three suffered from noise from the nearby M6 motorway). At breakfast, the kitchen must have been having an off day because they managed to give me 'hard boiled' poached eggs not once but twice. I gave up, as I was in a rush to get to a meeting
T. R.
Lovely room and great steak. However incredibly slow service and a weird starter with pickled vegetables rather spoilt the experience.
J. I.
Stayed here last night for my husband's brothers wedding . Lovely hotel friendly staff excellent customer service. Would stay here again .
