Bruce restored the hearth stone back to its former glory and I'm so pleased with the finish. It's been sanded, polished and sealed and now looks great again. Bruce is a friendly professional, really good at what he does, pays great care and attention to detail - especially taking care of the mess that fireplaces can generate, which was much appreciated. I'd definitely recommend his services and extend my thanks here for the quality of workmanship.

We needed some extensive Chimney stack repair work on our roof. From the start Bruce’s service was excellent. He turned up at the time arranged with a whole bag of tools to properly diagnose our issues. The quotation he provided was thorough and clearly explained what services would be provided. Bruce and his assistant did an excellent job, taking photos and keeping us updated throughout. Bruce was able to salvage one of the original chimney pots too which was nice to keep. The work (now finished) looks fantastic and we are very happy with the service we received. Bruce included before and after photos in the invoice, which again clearly highlighted services that were provided, making it really easy to see. Bruce also swept our chimney before leaving and left our log burner and hearth sparkling - we weren’t expecting such a lovely clean on the burner and surrounding areas, so that was nice to see too. We are delighted to leave a 5 star review for Best Sweep, especially as there aren’t many reviews for Best Sweeps external chimney stack work (most of the reviews are for sweeping and internal fireplace work). We are looking forward to seeing Bruce again next year for our annual chimney sweeping. Thank you Best Sweep for your excellent service and a job well done!

Best sweep offer an honest and thorough service, coupled with lovely customer service and a very professional attitude toward punctuality. Bruce has serviced our stove for many years, ever since we had it installed. He's always on time, makes a real effort to fit us in as immediately as possible, when is best for us. I really appreciate his frank honesty regarding what he sees of our stove and his assessment of what improvements we could make, be it the quality of fuel, need for additives, a fan or a thermometer, he tells it how it is. It isn't often that you get to meet service providers that are as professional, understanding and customer-oriented as Bruce. Bruce came to sweep the chimney in the house we just moved into and in addition to his very clean job (you couldn't tell he came over to sweep the chimney) he gave me great recommendations to ensure my installation will be safe. In addition, Bruce took time to explain to me his work so that I could understand everything, and so that I could make the right choices in the future to ensure a safe use of our fireplace. Bought two hand made (by Bruce) stainless steel cowls for my two crown pots. I found it very difficult to get someone to make these cowls at the standard I was looking for. I live in Chorley Lancs and gave Bruce the dimensions, he delivered on time, communications spot on and the quality and workmanship is excellent, fitted perfectly. I cannot recommend Bruce enough. I have just bought my first house, and have never had to use a chimney sweep before, and Bruce was a fountain of knowledge. He explained all of the issues with our chimney, and resolved them all in under an hour. He was punctual and polite, and on a personal level - a very interesting man. Bruce did an excellent job. Cleaned it really well, tested our alarm and made sure he left the room clean and tidy. Was running early so asked if it was ok to come earlier than our appointment time, which was brilliant for us and really considerate. Was really helpful and answered all the questions that I had. Excellent service from Bruce... good communication before the appointment and then a great job done. He also fixed a problem with our flue (so fire burning drawing much better now) and gave advice on how to get the best from our wood-burner. Bruce even checked our logs to see if they were dry enough in order to prevent our flue sooting up too quickly. Also checked two other flues we have (that hadn't been used last winter) and said they were clear. I contacted Bruce about 8 years ago after continually having problems with my open fire. I had already seen two sweeps before this but the problem wasn't identified. As soon as I met Bruce, l knew I was in safe hands, he asked many questions to try to establish the problem and after the tests he did he found the problem and made me aware that it wouldn't be safe to have this as an open fire. On moving recently to a house with a woodburner, there is only one person l would trust and that is Bruce and again he was thorough with everything for my safety. I can't recommend him highly enough.

The service that we received from Best Sweep was excellent. Communication was prompt, the service polite and professional and the charges reasonable. Bruce was extremely tidy in his work and I think my lounge was cleaner when he left than when he arrived! I particularly like the 'reminder service' which means that I won't forget to get my chimney swept on an annual basis. Would recommend.

Bruce has swept our chimney for the last 3-4 years. He is very efficient, not only in sweeping the chimney, but also in pointing out other issues that are important. For example advising us to fit a cowl on the chimney, as too much rain was getting in and causing a damp chimney; recommending a carbon monoxide alarm, which we didn't have. etc. i would not hesitate to recommend Bruce and "Best Sweep Chimney Sweep Bristol". Due to the fact that I had a back boiler on my wood burning stove the clay pot flue had become severely coated with tar. Bruce knocked off all that he could from within the full height of the flue with a series of different mechanically driven flails attached to his sweeping rods , Bruce then applied chemicals to the inside of the flue. After several short hot burns of the wood burner the chemicals roasted with the tar enabling it to be removed after a further flail. A very large amount of tar has been removed. Bruce has lots of specialist equipment to deal with all sorts of situations and does a very thorough job, arriving on time and leaving the place very tidy. He explains clearly what the problems are and how he will try to resolve them. I can now get the boiler replaced with a new flue liner installed, knowing that it will be safe. A dramatic contrast to a person with a series of rods with a sweeps brush on the end.
