After years of heavy use, I thought it was the end of the road for my Givenchy Antigona - the handles were badly frayed (literally coming apart) and holes had appeared in the lining of the bag caused by contact with the sharp edges of the material Givenchy use inside the bag to give it structure. I had contacted The Restory for a quote which was around £600-700. I took the bag to Merali not expecting that he would even accept the job, however, he was so friendly and helpful in suggesting what he could do to fix the bag and provided a very reasonable quote. The resulting transformation was nothing short of amazing and exceeded all my expectations. My bag was lovingly restored with excellent attention to detail. Merali is a true craftsman who is incredibly meticulous in his work and goes above and beyond - for my bag, even though I had not thought to ask, he added in internal structuring to help the bag keep its shape but in a way that would avoid holes appearing in the lining again. It is rare that you see that level of attentiveness and care. My bag looks brand new and I wouldn't hesitate recommending Merali the magician to anyone whose handbags are in need of restoration!

I had been trying to get my late mother's old Celine bag over the years but many said it can't be fixed. It is a very sentimental item for me, so it was very important to make sure to get it restored properly. After reading amazing reviews here, I have decided to take it to Merali and that was the best decision!! Merali is kind, honest, professional, extremely meticulous and talented. I cannot thank him enough for taking a bag that was in terrible condition and making it as good as new (even better than original in some ways for replacing some PVC lining to genuine leather etc). I came here after receiving ridiculous quotes for the repair of my classic Chanel flap bag from some better-publicised repair clinics in London. The quality of the repair was outstanding (everything from the inside stitching to the final finishing) and the before-and-after transformation was amazing (have a look at the before and after uploaded pictures). This is one of my favourite bags I cherished for many years, so much so that it’d seen better days. I wanted to get it repaired but knew that if I’d taken it to the original store, they would send it back to Italy, take weeks and would be expensive too. Then I found this repair shop. When I took two of my bags to his shop, I just knew he would be good. He was trustworthy and my instinct was right! He was quick, the price was reasonable and his skills were magical. How did he fix it?! With the lockdown, he posted my two bags and I received it the next day. I would recommend him to anyone in the world. With decades of experience working with luxury brands, I’m now going to check out my other bags in the closet so that they’ll come alive again.

Merali at Luxury Bag Repairs did a fantastic job restoring my mum's vintage Hermes Kelly. It needed some repainting, stitching, and stain removal. The repairs are extremely well done and not noticeable (photos show before & after). Merali was honest & realistic about what could be done, but the result still went beyond my expectations. This is the place to go for repairs! Trustworthy and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Sometimes you do get surprised by the quality of craftsmanship and service. It happens so rarely these days so when it does it's worth writing a decent review. My rather expensive Aspinal laptop bag developed a year, thanks to me overloading it. I did not have much hope Aspinal would do anything about it. I contacted Merali, sent him a picture and he confirmed it could be fixed but would want to see it. I dropped it off and within 5min he provided me a quote and a confirmation that it would be done by Tuesday. I got a message saying it was done on Saturday. I collected it yesterday and was amazed at the quality of the repair. Before and after photos included. A colleague who noticed the original tear saw it today and is convinced that its a new bag. For the money, I don't think you can do better or work with a nicer person.
