Reviews of Jimmy Spices
J. R.
We have been visiting Jimmy's for years. Spent many dates here with my other half. We were one of the last standing in the restaurant as it closed for lockdown.... and last night was our first night back. New venue, new choices and new prices. We were soo excited to be back, and with our new baby addition who is weaning, so he could explore some of the amazing dishes.
New venue is lovely, vibrant, fresh and still spacious. Really good to be able to see all of the kitchen space, and the chefs working as hard as ever.
Waiting staff are really attentive, constantly nearby, with tables cleared promptly. Lots of the waitresses were super friendly with our son (and regularly grabbed the broom to sweep under his chair- sorry!)
Choices seem slightly less, but still loads of choice. It's very centred around tepenyaki and the grill, and both are brilliant.
My ONLY improvement is BRING BACK GROUPON!!! We certainly can't afford to attend regularly now at full price, but totally recommend and love this place.

With a Jimmy Spices hankering my husband and I booked our table online. We took advantage of a 25% off voucher advertised on the website. We arrived, we were unaware it had moved location so we called and we were given clear directions. I assume as this restaurant is new the location confusion will iron out over time.
The entrance is a little underwhelming at first. We were greated with a smile by a lady. Once we took the lift up we were pleasantly surprised. Did not expect the venue to be highly decorated. Its beautiful!
We were seated at our table, and were asked if we had visited the new restaurant before. They explained how the buffet works and the choices available. We ordered cocktails on our visit, which were pleasant. They offer a deal 4 for the price of 2 which we later found out in the evening. Missed opportunity to maybe adverse on the menu or a promotions board.
To the food: they offer a grill/stir fry station where there are many meats available per person. My husband really loved his tuna steak. There was a large selection of Indian cuisine this multiple curry's on offer. They have a Mexican and salad bar station available (loved the couscous). There was pizza but didn't get to try this on this occasion but the chefs were preparing the pizzas and they looked very fresh. They had a Chinese section with a few offerings. Great section of deserts and fruits.
The venue is smaller than the last but I personally think this is much better as the space flows better. The food option are more limited however i just think all the best dishes are just on one table to speak. The other restaurant had far too many dishes on the floor for limited traffic of customers. I imagine this way it reduces food wastage as well as being much easier to manage.
Overall, we thought the mixed grilled vegetables, chilli panner, chicken curry and steaks were the best.
All the facilities were clean, tidy and organized. Service with great all staff were attentive and friendly. The manager appeared present on the floor, it was well managed.
I will definitely be returning with friends and family. Actually love the fact they have a bar area for aperitifs and then late tea and coffee.

Veri Nice Place for Vegetarians as well as Non vegetarians. Taste is really good. Food is served hot. Live counter is also good. I liked the ambience.

The return of Jimmy Spices back to Birmingham in a new more vibrant and cosier atmosphere. It has changed and the quality is as good now as ever. Food is obviously fresh but smaller in restaurant size now then before so less of a selection but saying that it's probably the best international cuisine buffet in Brum, lovely friendly staff too. Will go back.

Jimmy's, this was opened in the new location in Oct 2021, I must say this is a lot better than the previous one. The food is good (than any other usual buffet), lots of non veg options, less for veg. They have live counters for noodles, Dosa, naan and grill for fish, meat and Paneer. Naan was the best one I had ever in UK. Most of the items in the menu are Indian. The staff were friendly and the place was very clean. It was crowded when I visited on a Friday evening.
Taste 4/5
Staff 5/5
Cleanliness 4/5
Value for money 4/5
Ambience 4/5

This was the best World Buffet I've had for years. We went on a Sunday at around 6.30 and the place quite full. All the stations were well stocked and replenished regularly. It had good balance of Indian, Chinese and European food. I rarely eat the carvery roasts in buffets because they are usually dry. The ones here were all succulent and the meat cuts were good. The grill was great, the Indian food outstanding. My wife is a vegetarian and there was plenty for her, she loved the stir fry section. Definitely coming back.

To start we had difficulties finding the restaurant signage could be better.
Food was just OK overall, nothing to jump out and wow us sadly.
There was not a huge selection compared to a visit of he same named restaurant I visted about 8 - 10 years ago in Stratford upon Avon.
The dessert station was lacking anything proper, the selection was plain as if it had been mass ordered in, tasteless really.
It seems like the biggest offer was Indian food with very little of anything else really.
The live cooking stations were a good sight although I have some concerns especially with the BBQ station and the use of tongs handling raw meats then immediately turning or serving cooked meats.
The man on the naan tandoor was quite abrupt and miserable with no manners, addressing customers with one question being 'yes?',
I found that quite rude to be honest.
The waiting staff were brilliant, very polite addressing customers as Sir and Madam.
The drinks menu seemed fairly priced aswel.
The restaurant also adds a 10% service charge to the bill which I asked to be removed, I want it to be my choice to tip the staff not long the pockets of higher management.
On a visit to the toilet facilities I was surprised to find open electrics in the walls and a disgusting toilet pan... outside and in, I will attach photos of this.
All in all yes we ate well but the food wasn't amazing, I was left disappointed with my visit after looking forward to it for the whole day.
I wouldn't recommend to friends or family.
It doesn't compare to the old branded restaurant at all, the food on offer was mostly spicy, I would rename to Spicy Jimmy's because its not a scratch on the old Jimmy Spices.
Rather disappointed
P. S.
I've been to the old restaurant couple of times, but came to this new one for the first time, and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing, limited options though, but the quality has become much better, the prices are higher than before, but worth for the product you receive.
The restaurant was really busy for a Sunday evening, I would also like to give kudos to Shefali she was just amazing, in all that chaos the only smiling face we saw, and she is extremely professional and a true asset for the restaurant, I wish we could encounter more people like her, I will come back as promised for those cocktails!!!

This is an amazing establishment! The food over here is fresh, authentic, and tasty to no extent! There is also a stir fry station, which is a must try. Nearly all food preferences such as halal, kosher, Vegitarian, vegan, etc options exist in plenty. The staff is friendly, the cooks are very experienced and talented, and the place itself has a nice ambience to it. It is a must go!

Happy that Jimmy Spices reopened again, was missing the taste from long time, like the new setup as well.
Well arranged and all the staff are really Good.
G. W.
Pretty good, though short on variety. Would be better if they removed some of the seating so as to extend the serving area, providing space for more things to be served. Loud techno music was blaring from the speakers, but it was turned down when I asked the waitress to do so. Waiting staff very attentive and competent.
S. P.
The new venue is nicely done, it's clean and stylish. However, the tables are far too close together. You're virtually sitting on each other. I didn't even have enough room between myself and the table behind to pull my chair out properly. Also, I found the staff to be quite rude and not at all friendly or particularly welcoming. There was the odd staff member that was OK, but generally not so. The food was very nice. I don't think there was any where near as much choice as there used to be. I also think it is quite expensive really and drinks are extortionate. It's so hot in there also. I certainly wouldn't be in a hurry to go again I'm afraid. Overall as an experience it wasn't the best, but the food was good.
w. E.
I'm satisfied 😀
Really good experience ,
The restaurant was amazing the food is really delicious ,
G. H.
We visited since the re-opening and the new restaurant is gorgeous! Just next door to the old one. The new layout is much better and the food is fab!! I think it's great value for money considering half of the menu is freshly cooked for you exactly how you want it!
I think the dessert selection could be greater though. We look forward to going back!
P.
Best buffet by far that I’ve been to, authentic and fresh.
g. 8. o.
Lunch menu ok for £13 . Staff service execllent and warming Go for the grilled fish takes 10mins beautiful spicy I had it with peppers. Beef stir fry not the best but the sweet n sour chicken makes up for that disappoint 😊. Veg spring rolls better then most Chinese places, and the beef pepperoni pizzas and plain cheese one delicious. BBQ chicken wings nice but alil tuff. Steamed fish with veg not nice too bland. Grilled chicken strips could off been seasoned better
A. Q.
The new Jimmy spices , it's moved opposite to where it was. The place was packed and noisy. I found the place felt more cramped than the previous place. The food is reasonable, I guess what you expect from a buffet. The choice is good. However I don't know, one of the benefits of this place used to be the ease of it. I found it a bit too much. However maybe that was the Christmas rush. Staff was also fine. Previous place seemed to be a bit more chill I guess. Maybe because it was more spaced out even when busy.
M. K.
Good choice of food for reasonable price
Most of the types of food was great and different variations. Good value for time that we visited therefore lesser price paid (Saturday midday). Only criticism is that some of the food was too salty (masala fish) and filling for dosa. Otherwise excellent experience and waiting staff were also good. Last point to note considering size of restaurant and guests visiting is bathrooms would definitely need upgrading, very small and not fit for purpose anymore in my opinion (The venue where the restaurant has moved too used to be a nightclub)
K. F.
Its been a while and sure does feel different. Food was good and service was also nice.
L. B.
Amazing food. Great service
T. Z.
We went to visit Christmas market and after that decided to have some hot food as it was really chilly Friday night. Decided to check out Jimmy Spices and was totally worth to visit.
Food was really good and the grill options was vivid and you can have as much as you like. There were vegiterian option which was adequate and some Indian Street food was delicious.
If you have a big family or office outing or any birthday celebration worth to go there because it's quite a party place. Not very quiet for romantic date night.
Though the service was average and not very special but the price was really good considering a Friday night. Totally recommend the restaurant.
T. C.
Not the best buffet but decent. Had some confusion at first but the girl looked after managed the situation well.
She (Shefali) is really capable and suit to the business. Dhanu was also active but others seems sleepy.
Food options are limited but good.
Thanks Shefali and Dhanu.

Sorry for the short notice:
Whole family west time and money 😔.
1- Poor service.
2- Non professionalism.
3- Hygienic not great.
4- Perfect phone service “online ”.
5- Food is amazing and so tummy.
I. S.
Fair to say their previous location had better atmosphere. But this one has better food. Not too too many international dishes but all Indian dishes and starters are excellent. And their mocktails are amazing.
H. K.
Absolutely amazing experience the staff are amazing and we go every Sunday. Susmita especially when she goes above and beyond to help with anything we need. I really recommend it. Thank you for your hospitality.
Y. S.
Great buffet with a variety of tasty food to try, highly recommend!. We were served by Ashish who provided great service and was very helpful. We will definitely be back
M. P.
Well after not coming for a number of years thought I'd give it a shot. Wasn't happy about the food on my last visit but that said this time round the food wasn't bad all. The starters could do with some improvement in terms of heat. From the counter to the table the chicken wings weren't hot. That's 3 different variations. Other starters were in the same boat not hot at all. I went into the area where the chef will cook your food. I opted to have the masala fish... Lovely flavour and cooked just right. Had a mixture of mains all of which was much better. Hear and flavour. Not too spicy and not too mild either.
Staff were friendly enough and price was reasonable. Would I go back again? Yup but not in a rush
N. G.
Newly opened not as much variety for lunch for how it used to be and the prices have gone significantly higher than before. So be aware. Nice decor and friendly staff.
N. A.
Can have a reasonable meal but it's really not that impressive now. After a change in location the variety is significantly reduced and even more so for vegetarians. The whole space seems too cramped as well.
S. A.
Wasn't the best buffet I have been to majority of the stuff I didn't like at all. The mocktail I had wasn't nice just tasted like lemonade. As for the things that were nice was the lamb chops, gajerela, gulab jamun, pancakes, lamb lasagne and pasta. Pizza was ok aswell and the wok as for most other things I tried were horrible all beef dishes were overcooked.
C. o. B.
Re-opening of Jimmys Spices. In short, we loved it. Excellent attentive staff and lots of them. Great decor. Wide range of food- something for everyone. We had about 20 dishes between us and all of them good. We particularly enjoyed the chicken curries but the prawn curries, pizza, lasagne, lamb rogan Josh also excellent. The Gulab Jamon for pudding was excellent and a wide range of ice creams which the kids loved. The meat in the dishes was very good ( sometimes that lets buffets down) and the sauces well made/tasty. They have a barbecue/grill with a wide range of items. Highly recommend
S. S.
Good buffet spread with delicious Indian cuisine. Live counters for dosa , naan, noodles are quite good. Not too crowded. Would be better to book a table in advance on their website. Would definitely recommend. Entrance was difficult to find on our first visit. Parking on Gas St nearby is walkable and has RinGo based app parking.
R. K.
If you are very hungry and want to taste a wide range of cuisines, this is the place for you. It's a buffet - offering a wide range of dishes from veg & nonveg curries, starters, dosas, indian breads, pastas, pizzas, momos, salads, cakes, pastries, ice creams and more. Drinks are also available, which is outside of the buffet cost. Buffet cost ranges from 10 GBP to 15 GBP depending on the day and time you visit. Nice ambience. Will surely recommend this place.
T. I.
Large variety of food, clean and friendly environment. Better for value at dinner, as paying 8.99 per person (on weekdays) is not as good as getting something specific.
However, for people looking to either find new things or groups wanting differnt meals - its quite good.
Lastly, somethings of note:
•there's an ice cream machine
•a soup is available
•they make your own stir frys in front of you
•drinks are not included in the "all you can eat" excluding water
e. s.
The food was nice, there isn’t a lot of choice because when you have picked the foods you like there isn’t really another option, you will go back up again and pick the same foods. Desserts could be a little better as there isn’t a lot of options. Won’t rush to go back but will go again sometime in the future
L. P.
Jalal and the team were fantastic , attentive and helpful to accommodate our large booking of over 40 guests. Food was fab and clearly labelled to help us cater for all dietary requirements, and everyone enjoyed our time there. Big thanks to Jalal and the team!
P. S.
Great service, perfect ambience. I travelled for two hours just to have buffet at this place. So many varieties to eat. Can’t name them all. I literally had everything there. Dosa, samosa, dahi vada, pizza, naan bread, chicken curry, chicken tikka and everything from dessert section, I mean most of it. Wait did I miss something, yes that the tasty gulabjamun and panipuri. Can’t imagine how much I ate. Checkout this place when we you happen to go to Birmingham.
S. D.
A bit of a mixed bag really some highlights and some lowlights
Negatives - place wasn't easy to find, limited food options not like before where the grilled live cooking station used to open at lunch but no more, not much selection for starters, gol goppae but no sev no imli??
Mains - a limited variety in world cuisine not a huge selection as per the last lunch selection, positives good in flavour, loved the dosa, tasted great 👍
Desserts - a variety, some packed flavour such as the mini cakes, trifles,
Negatives
Marble cake cold dry difficult to eat inedible
Mango cheesecake inedible
Gajar halva greasy
Please consider my review and make these changes, please also ensure that the food served is fresh as some of the food didn't.
The price of the lunch buffet for the location as to which it resides in is a reasonable price to pay, however the service charge is unreasonable and not required.
All in all grateful for the experience and grateful for food 🙏
J. B.
Highly recommend Jimmy's Spices to any fan of Asian food visiting Birmingham, there is a great range on offer in the buffet really something for everyone! Everything seemed to be clean and there were plenty of staff around to help if need be. Our plates were cleared from the table quickly whenever we went up for another course. The place could do with a bit of a tidy up in places with the decor being a little tired but over all the food made up for it. Will happily return on next visit to the area!

Great experience, food and service were very good. Good variety with food. Reasonable prices.

The new Jimmy Spices is accessible from broad street next to weatherspoons. The good news is that they have the same foods as before and the quality is great. Ambience is really nice as well.

Lovely selections of food and drink, lots made fresh for diners.

I’ve been going to Jimmy Spices in Birmingham for almost 15 years now. It has changed through the years but overall it has maintained a good variety of dishes, including Indian, Chinese, Italian & Mexican. The quality of the food is good. This place is suitable for vegetarians. There is a huge selection of drinks, including cocktails. We had a jug of the pina colada during our last visit & we thoroughly enjoyed it.
It is an all you can eat buffet so you can be sure that you’ll leave with a full stomach. It is good value for money.
The waiters are friendly and polite. You do not usually need a reservation as the seating capacity is pretty big. This place is ideal for birthday parties. It is also child-friendly.

A great place for an all you can eat buffet. Foods from all over the world which taste really nice. Service is good and staff are friendly. Lunch serves 60% of food whereas dinner is 100% of what is available just to make you aware

The food was superb and it's all you can eat. What more could you want?

It was quite empty for Valentine's Day the food was adequate the only downside there was not a lot of choice but for £20 for two plus 2 drinks fizzy not too bad it was very clean and extremely friend staff

Been there the first time group of 4 and it was very yummy. We really enjoy it..definitely worth a visit..
M. M.
Good value for money. Nice selection of food and friendly service. Would recommend.
T. D.
Got this as a groupon and totally worth it. Food was good. We went at lunch time so was not busy and no queues for food. Marked down really because the booth seating really needed cleaning and the desserts were not up to much but would still return
D. H.
Excellent value for money. Staff are exceptionally warm and accommodation. Food is splendid and bountiful.
A. C.
Defo the best buffet in Brum 4 mixed food and the live station is something to been seen defo going back for 2020 it's a must
J. P.
Wear some waterproof socks and fill your boots. Their Lamb Rogan Josh is one of the best that I have ever tasted. Fresh naan breads are a winner too. Food selection was limited, ice cream machine was broken (to my daughter's disappoint) but I would definitely go back for some more of that sexy Rogan Josh 😋
V. K.
Used to have lots of varieties before but now limited to main dishes. Taste is wonderful as usual🤞🏻
K. K.
The food was excellent, friendly smiling staff good value for money snd a wide variety of food definaetly recommend

They have moved to across the road. It's much more intimate and the decor is wow. Great atmosphere, had so much to chose from. Staff were friendly and helpful. If any of the dishes were running low, i'd ask them and they would cook more fresh and bring it to my table. Definitely would go again.
r.
Good place to visit for food, they have a variety of dishes to choose from. Great for parties

Food was fine, drinks cheap and serving staff friendly. Will return next time in the area

Best Indian buffet in town
Superb fingerlicking food.
Must visit for delicious food.
Cocktails are also best

New place same Jimmy. Nice to see that the chefs are the centre point of the buffet decent food but steep on price.
Z. S.
Good food

Food was good. Service was great. Decent amount of varieties.

Another excellent experience and service.. food is very tasty and fresh.. would visit again !!

Not so good, I expected it to be much more interesting place but turned out to be just another buffet place, view from here is good to sit and relax
R. C.
Excellent. Much better than the usual all-you-can-eat buffet

Great cuisine if you want to have Indian Food
S. T.
Nice selection offood but could of been warmer ....
E. J.
Nice buffet. Definitely recommend for family meals. Lovely service and workers are very welcoming.
M. A.
Very good variety but quality has drastically gone down
J. P.
Very nice place. Good food. Fresh.
I. F.
If you get a voucher (be patient there's usually one available), then this place becomes a bargain to eat in.
The food is above average, the atmosphere is lively and staff are very polite and welcoming. The only thing I have against it is that it can get crowded and they haven't figured out a seating arrangement for people who want to be to themselves as a couple. It is family oriented and that has its plus and minuses.
As long as you are aware of that, you'll have a good time
C. S.
Came here through a deal I found on groupon. Food is quite nice and tastes fresh. Best thing about this restaurant is the stir fry section where a chef literally creates a stir fry from some ingredients you choose. Overall, I had a decent experience. I may not return here because I feel as though there are other buffets which I would rather spend money on, but you can’t knock it until you try it so give it a go and you might just be surprised.
i. h.
A large group of us was there and was well looked after by the staff
M. O.
During the current situation I was thinking that an all you can eat buffet isn't worth the effort but to my surprise Jimmy's was quite a pleasant experience.
The food was amazing for an all you can eat buffet and even though it's table service, it didn't stop the food from flowing on to the table.
There's also a student offer for 8.99, including the buffet and a soft drink so definitely a place to go!
D. G.
Excellent food and brilliant service. Excellent value for your money for the buffet. The only thing that I would have liked was the drinks. Great price for the soft drinks but I would've liked a refillable option like many other buffet restaurants. But other than that no complaints what so ever. Great place to try something new, or to keep with your favourite dishes.
K. L.
We went there this weekend. Staff were friendly and polite. Couldn't fault the range of food on offer or the taste/quality, although we didn't try any of the desserts. We didn't have to wait for drinks for ages unlike other reviews and when we asked for a 2nd drink we had it within a couple of minutes. Very pleased and would go back again.
J. Ł.
A huge, busy place with surprisingly good quality food. Pretty good service, though you really need to wait for the drinks you ordered. Unfortunately the desserts were not up to par with the rest of the food. Still, the place is definitely worth a visit if you like to try a different kind of food.
K. C.
great food great cleanliness staff is a bit rude however i would visit again
a. l.
There is not a varied enough food options on the night. The price was good, customer service was excellent.
G. B.
As buffet restaurants go, it was ok. Average selection of food, I think being a Monday and generally quieter you don't get the full selection. I asked about the shredded duck which is on the online menu and they said that's only on Saturday. Still, enough to please most people. A couple of the dishes looked like they'd been out a while especially the salad bar. I tried the both cooking stations, and enjoyed both. Clean and tidy, staff were friendly and quick to clear your dirty dishes. 4/5 is still a good score, been once but probably wouldn't go again. Still worth a visit.
N. L.
The food was delicious! I loved the choice of fresh meats that was great.
It was a little cramped and busy in there but overall a nice feel.
I had some noodles with chicken and veg and decided to add some sweetcorn on my first plate. The cook was brilliant very happy and smiley. I decided to have the same again and was told by a different cook NO you cant have sweetcorn. Its not allowed.... I was confused as id just had a plate of it no questions asked. He put a sweetcorn in the pan on its own and it burnt and he tried to embarrass me infront of others waiting. I was so uncomfortable but luckily another customer backed me up and just said she's had it before just cook it all together.
The food was lovely.
The staff not so much.
When asking for the bill that was another 15+ minute wait even asking multiple servers.

Has nice selection of traditional English, American, Italian, Indian and Chinese food. I tried to have a taste of most. Some were very delicious, some not so much. Partly it could be my tang but some because of just being cold. It was very busy at the time we were. Long time waiting for drinks. Overall our party enjoyed the stay, everyone said it was at the edge of too expensive to quality.

Nice Food and great staff.
Though due to covid we had to tick from a menu what we wanted and when the food was brought over felt like there could've been more on a plate than 2 little pieces of chicken each. (Though I get it is a Buffet and we can just get more after that it was annoying that portions came so little)
E. D.
It had a pretty good selection of food and most of it tasted quite good. But with any buffet they limit their staff so when you get something such as bottomless drinks it takes them ages to get to you for the next round. Also every time you want to check a dish for allergies you have the check with the chef each and every time. Not too busy on an early afternoon though.
A. V.
We visited after the lockdown, we weren't advised that they don't run as a buffet anymore.
Basically, you order at the table from a very limited menu. I felt a little awkward because it's different when you grab the stuff yourself and get as much as you like and not a full portion. The place was nearly empty aswell..
Will return when it runs as a buffet again...

First experience at a buffet restaurant here in Birmingham. The food was great and really tasty. The winner was, live grilling, live dosa making and live stir fry station. The only drawback was service as we visited on the weekend. Highly recommend coming to this place on the weekday. Overall great experience.

Went here for Valentine's Day dinner - what can I say, I'm a romantic...
First and foremost because it was Valentine's Day they doubled the price of the buffet (£17.99).
There was a wide selection of food - Oriental, Indian, Western, Mexican etc. There were also two seperate stands, one with raw meat that you could have grilled to your liking and another where they may a stir fry of your choice.
The dessert section was a large selection of cake, jellies, fruits etc as well as a large chocolate fountain.
The overall taste of the food was okay, but the service wasn't. I had read the sign outside that food was going to be more expensive, but then I had about three members of staff - literally one after the other - reiterating the price, as if they wanted to get rid of me or me be intimidated by the price (I wasn't). Then when I asked for a napkin the person said she would get one but ten minutes later slowly walked passed me and smiled. I ended up getting one from the bar at the end. Same person above, when I asked for a drink didn't get me a drink so someone else had to be asked.
They also sit adults with families, so please bare that in mind if you don't like sitting next to screaming children.
I. W.
I visit this spot a lot since I work nearby. I like how their service is always excellent and they keep the spot well organized regularly. Rates are fair and they serve generous portions.
D. H.
Grate selection, clean, fresh and very attentive staff who are also keen to meet your needs. Excellent service and value for money.
A. G.
Jimmy Spices is an all-you-can-eat buffet for only £13.99 and it does NOT disappoint.
It's a lovely little place full of tables with families and friends so it has the perfect family friendly atmosphere.
The service was good as well as the waiters and waitresses are friendly and quick to get you your drinks.
I tried multiple things but by far my favourites were the BBQ chicken wings and the Homemade Chicken Curry on steamed rice. It was absolutely delicious.
They have a large variety of foods including Indian, Chinese, Pizzas and delicious desserts such as jellies, cakes and ice creams.
Definitely give this place a try it's heavenly.

Great place to go on a Sunday with our kids who are very fussy eaters. We could eat what we liked whilst the kids just ate pizza and puddings. Noisy and not at all fancy but this is perfect for us as we are also a noisy family. Great food choices. Kids under 10 eat free on a sunday too.
K. T.
Delicious food, good variety even for me (a vegetarian) and empty plates were taken promptly. Downside is it's upstairs for those with mobility problems. Also they add 10% to the bill for service which was okay but bit great. Had to ask for a drink and it took a while, also had a dirty knife. Still overall if you have a deal like we did it was well worth it.
L. G.
It was ok, as far as a buffet goes it wasn't bad. There was a good selection of Indian food, which was all very nice. If the same attention was given to the other cuisines it would have been 5 stars. The kids liked the chocolate fountain and ice cream machine.
D. G.
I was here with my best friend and her family for a meal before we watched Celine Dion live! The atmosphere is very friendly and staff are attentive and helpful. It's very good value for money, being an all you can eat buffet. The food was good, except for their 'butter chicken'! The butter chicken wasn't even in the right sauce, it was too hot for the dish, and the chicken turned out to be pork! This is my only complaint of the restaurant.
J. N.
Relatively quiet for the days we've gone. The restaurant is always clean and full of helpers. Amazing choice of food from a variety of cultures. As well as the desert section is absolutely amazing, the kids live for that section. Always a great place to bring the family and always a great place for a night out
D. T.
Had a great evening at Jimmy Spices. Even though you can’t help yourself at the buffet any more the staff are really helpful in bringing everything you want. Food was fresh and hot and we really enjoyed everything we had . Special thanks to our waitress Parita who was really good :)
N. R.
It's a buffet restaurant in Birmingham close to Bull ring shopping center.Spread is decent.. Should have included unlimited soft drinks in the price..Other similar buffet restaurants do include the same price bracket.Taste is good and ambience is lively..Live counter with barbeque got nice options including large prawns. Dessert section is also decent. Worth a visit..
I. M.
Great place for a quick lunch. Plenty of choice on the buffet menu and at a great price. Good variety of starters and mains as well as different cuisines. Nice selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non. The live section they have around the Xmas time is worth a try.
S. W.
Mains were nice, particularly lamb chops cooked to order. Deserts disappointing. Although not a massive selection overall was good value for money. However covid measures are poor. No requirement for masks or gloves at the buffet. Everyone touching the same spoons and we saw a woman coughing her guts up over the food. Given the stringent measures other buffets are taking or even not opening eg in Vegas, this is unacceptable and action should be taken by the council
P. S.
It's been a few years since I last came as there is another buffet restaurant I usually go to. There are improvements to the decor though likely not recently as it's showing its age. The variety and presentation of dishes was good for a buffet and there continues to be a good selection that you can get cooked while you wait/watch.
However, I am giving it 3 stars as several dishes had a taste like washing up liquid, especially the Greek salad which didn't have spices to mask the flavour. It's a shame as otherwise I would have given it 4 or 5 stars. There are several other buffet places locally and it means that these little things result in customers going over/back to a competitor.
B.
From the outside, it's not much to look at but inside it's a very roomy and modern building. The selection of food is exquisite, offering dishes from any region you can think of. The quality of the food is consistent and delicious- only downside is that it often gets quite busy, leading to some queues waiting for food, especially some of the dishes that get cooked up for you.
I. W.
Reasonable prices with acceptable food across a massive range of styles. Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Italian and even a shot at Mexican. Don't expect gourmet or a quiet dining experience. It can get very busy with an ambience closer to school canteen than restaurant. Still, you get what you pay for and the prices, especially for families are excellent.
S. B.
This was our first visit here. They have really friendly staff, were very welcoming to my 2 children too.
Lovely food, lots of choice, quick bar service and my family had a great time!
We'll definitely be returning soon.
J. A.
All you can literally eat... The dessert bar is fabulous, so many varieties of iced treats. Loads of salads. Very helpful staff, you can ask about menu choices and allergens. Enjoyed the group lunch we had there, very good for family dining!
D. K.
Food ok, place nice looking, BUT: we've been there on a Sunday, when our two kids (2 and 3 years old) should not have been charged as adults (it was advertised everywhere, even on the menu). When we finished and had to pay, SURPRISE! Our two kids were charged as 100% adults for the 2 small horible cookies they have eaten....I didn't say anything to the bearded waiter, I didn't want to spoil the whole day for a few pounds, but his gesture was unforgivable...
H. S.
Went there yesterday, the place was all in Christmas spirit. The grandkids loved the desserts it was desserts heaven for them. The choice was great and the food was hot and tasty. The food was probably the best buffet we’ve all had. Eight of us had the same views and will be back. The grill section was the best. Freshly cooked whilst you wait... live cooking naans, Chineese, We were impressed. We’ve just booked our Christmas meal there. Highly recommend.
I.
Great price for an all you can eat.
We come here as a large group whenever we come to Birmingham and love it every time.
I was a little sad that the minute steaks were swapped with burger patties last time but it's not the end of the world. I just hope that it isn't a permanent change.
R. (.
Great food and friendly service... All you can eat for cheap and great quality food. Great selection of foods from various corners of the world. Drinks were slightly expensive. Nice selection of desserts if you have room. Great location near the canals so you can walk off the food. Great place and have been few times now!
N. B.
I preferred the decor here before they redid it, it seems like they redid it just to cram as many people in as possible. Feels more like a canteen now.
That being said the staff are helpful, always clearing plates quickly. The food is excellent for a buffet, too!
Look for discounts online before going, or call them up, as this is the only way you'll get the best price.
I. A.
Place was okay. Although tried to charge me double. Until I told him I didn't order 12 red bulls and 2 bottles of Whisky. As I don't Drink at all. Apart from that food was okay. Could be better.
S. V. (.
Great food for a decent price, all you can eat buffet.
A. V.
An amazing place to go to eat and well worth the price. Massive variety of food and the decoration in the place is absolutely astounding. The staff are hospitable and not too in your faces- even the drinks (not included with the overall price but understandably so) are of a high variety for a buffet restaurant, with cocktails, mocktails, beers, spirits, soft drinks and so on. A now annual tradition for my birthday, the only thing I could skate it on is sometimes the food can be less nice than normal depending on the chefs in and their specialities but I’ve only had one thing there that I thought tasted bad for what it was meant to be (a Rogan Josh curry).
L. D.
Food was nice but the services for people with disabilities makes them feel unwanted. Disabled toilet was filthy and there is no way of knowing where the lift is from outside. My daughter felt very unwelcomed, as she is on crutches.
S. C.
Like it here, very good selection of a mix of cuisine, and all good quality. If you have a bit of time, it is better as you can pace yourself and eat a fair bit. I had very little time and rushed in and out in 20 minutes and they were nice enough to give me a discount, friendly staff too
Y.
It offers a wide range of middle East and Asian cuisine, however lacking that one star is the fact that the atmosphere is kind of dead. A bit of music will do over the voices of people. Other than that, customer service is terrific, food is nice, I took a fancy for the dim suh, so nice!
O. O.
We - my host and his lovely family, my wife and I - dined at Jimmy Spices on 19 September 2019. The place was nice, spacious and well arranged and there were good varieties of food to choose from. It was a great place to be.
P. T.
Such a variety of good, help-yourself food - even for vegetarians. My only concern about these places is the uncertain hygiene standards of those who use them. Just hoped that everyone who used the serving utensils had clean hands and didn't breathe too heavily over the food!
D. K.
Haven’t visited Jimmys for a while but still offering the top service. Visited with my friend Juliet. Staff very quick and hard working. Good choice of cuisine from around the world and good music playing in the background. Lunch time very good value. Will visit in the near future
D. D. S.
Visited the place for the first time for a buffet dinner and I must say, it is an excellent place to be. The food was very authentic, atmosphere electrifying and service great. Situated on ever popular broad street, the menu on offer has variety. Strongly recommend.
S. S.
Reasonable range of different food types for a an all you can't eat price. Drinks arent cheap tho. The teppanyaki is the best way to get food that isn't mass produced and kept warm but you will probably have to queue for it. Toilets are up stairs and reasonably clean.
J. L.
Food pretty hit and miss.
Fresh food to be cooked on the spot all tasted charred
Deserts terrible. Fresh pizza and some Currys were very nice.
Also put a service charge on the receipt which is a bit cheeky.
G. L.
It was fine for a group celebrating a birthday staff was a little slow when we asked for different things grandaughter was 18 an should of had free cocktail didnt get it had to ask for her free meal asked them to take her cake an light candle and bring it out they didnt we had to do it all ourselves when we booked we were told they would do it all food was ok . Need to be a bit more attentive for a special occassion which was promised.
K. J.
Got a voucher from Groupon and I told them, they didn't scan the voucher and I was told I would have to pay for everything. It was resolved after a 20 minute conversation with the manager. Make sure you show the vouchers when you enter. The food is decent not much variety as some of the bigger Jimmy spices but it was somewhat enjoyable.
Y. (.
Food tastes nice however, it was very loud and has little space for moving about. Also, hygiene is a big problem, I saw this lady bring out a tray of jelly and held two container of jellies at the same time. She held it with fingers touching the jellies. After she left, I saw that all the jellies had fingerprints on the surface of the jellies.
L. L.
Absolutely brilliant restaurant, fantastic service. The staff are really friendly and constantly make sure that everything is ok with your meals. As soon as you walk in to the restaurant you are greeted by a member of staff, who explains the prices, what's available and shows you to your table.
The food is beautiful and is made to perfection. There is a huge variety of foods from Chinese, English, Italian, Japanese, Indian etc. so there is plenty of choice for everyone. The deserts options are amazing, perfect for the sweet tooth. I would definitely recommend Jimmy Spices to anyone who loves great food.
C. K.
The food here is really good. Especially the grill station where you can pick which meat or fish you want and the chef will grill it for you! Also the food is really fresh and tasty. The only bad thing is that the desserts here are not as good as I would like to.
K. A.
Generally, the food is reasonable given what it is costing for the wide range of all-you-can-eat dishes. The highlight is the grill where the chef will cook-to-order pieces of meat or fish or mixed skewers. The service is also good, with tables cleared frequently enough.
D. T.
I have been here multiple times with my friends and liked it every time. The food is amazing and the ambiance is great. Everything is well organised and the staff is quite efficient and polite. The price is also quite reasonable even for university students with tight budgets. I would recommend this place to anyone who is planning to go there.
s. c.
Went on a Sunday, lots of choice but none of the classics. No duck and pancakes. But was 5 live cooking stations, a bit confusing to understand, do you wait there or return soon and as the staff just look at you like you're stupid, you don't ask. What we did eat we loved though, chicken tikka was to die for cooked on skewers in a tandoori oven, fresh naans cooked to order. Chinese station the chef was lovely and cooked us up something we liked as we didn't like the sauces on offer. It was beautifully cooked. The grilled full salmon was nice, there was a carvery with beef and Yorkshire but not home cooked ones. Veg was frozen but meat was gorgeous. The desert station was a mess, the guy didn't even know how to spin candyfloss, kids had their finders in the chocolate fountain. The waiting staff are so rude. Out of about 6 waiters we had contact with only one was nice to us and smiled too.
M. L.
Staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome, accommodated us very well as we had never been before. The only thing that let it down was the variety.. it needs more dishes and the dessert area needed to be stocked up as their wasn’t much left when we went up. But other than that it was clean too!
M. T.
OK, but could be a lot better. We went on a Sunday and the food selection was fresh but far more focused on Indian than the menu implied. There were no Chinese starters, no sushi and the American section as a small bowl of chillie with some nachos. Even the curry was fairly limited with 3 curries, one of them 'home made chicken curry' which sounds fairly random. The puddings were very disappointing with none of the options from their menu available. The BBQ is good when you ignore their 4 item rule (which everyone seemed to be doing) and the stir fry section was great. It's a shame because Jimmy Spices used to be an institution in the West Midlands... but it's not a surprise that this is the last one.
p. m.
Chef would cook meat even during afternoon and decent if not huge selection, well cooked and well priced, kids were free on the Sunday afternoon I visited, one gripe is the plates are so small, I get that you can refill as much as you want, but I struggled to get meat veg and rice on one plate.
T. J.
Visited today 1 hour before closing for lunch time. Most food looked ok some dry dishes but warm as u would expect from a buffet place. Freshly cooked Chinese was a bonus this time. Fresh naan ordered and given. Can not fault staff very attentive. The entrance from lift area is my only negative I thought I was in kitchen and took wrong entrance.....for improvement I would suggest closings storage room door and making this entrance nicer for a more positive experience.
A. P.
A good specious place with enormous delicious food items. I just loved the desserts here. There were Mouse, cheese cake, jelly, pasty, ice creams, pudding and lots more. Grilled items are also good. They grill it as per your choice.
D. B.
Average. I went on a Sunday which was £12.99 all day. I wouldn't spend more than that. Not a large variety of food but it's decent. Some very spicy dishes so if that's your thing, this is the place for you. The highlight for me was the dessert section which included a whippy icecream machine.
A. H.
Absolutely loved this place!!! Jimmy Spices offers buffet and has plenty of food choices for starters, main course and even dessert. Great service and friendly staff. Food taste is also amazingly good and it won't hurt your pocket much!! HIGHLY recommended if you're visiting Birmingham and looking for a place to try Indian cuisine.
A. C.
They suggest leaving room for desert, this for me was the disappointing part of the meal. The mains were good, with made to order nan bread which was excellent, expecialy with the good range of curry available. Lots of option on the mains which were also quickly replaced as they were used up. As I mentioned before though the deserts are very much the usual buffet deserts which seem to be the same no matter the city or country your in.
B. B.
I went with twenty workmates for meal. The food was excellent quality and good value for money. I tried sushi for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. It is self service with the latest equipment to keep food warm in hygienic way. The only complaint was that it is a bit cramped. But that's the problem Jimmy Spice will have for being so popular. I will definitely go again.
F. G.
All you can eat buffet...great value with lots of choice. The only slight negative is, as a non meat eater, I was concerned to see the fish I had selected to be grilled was cooked in the same area on the grill as meat and the same tongs were used to turn raw meat as fish.
A. H.
Huge diversity of food. Halal meat. You can have your lamb chops, chicken and sea food cooked for you, the way you like. If you are a group of +10, it's recommended to reserve in advance.
M. G.
A pretty good all-you-can eat buffet restaurant. All the food I tried was good quality and prices quite reasonable. Only lacked a few extra staff to advise location of specific menu items. All round I'd recommend it. Not fine dining but great for groups.
d. f.
Most food was fairly tasty but was disappointed at the range/options. Place was very noisy & busy so service was spotty - when we entered we were given no guidance on whether drinks orders were taken at the bar or at the table (and no one came to our table for ages) so spent some time just wandering around lol. Lots of stairs.
R. S.
Place is good... Less vegetarian options... people who eat non vegetarian loved it as I went with a big group.... they have a big grill section where they grill stuff u want eat in front of you... however they grill the veg and non veg stuff on the same grill which was disappointing as a vegetarian person wont be willing to eat it then...
K. M.
Buffet. If you prefer quantity over quality, this is a great place for you. Lots of variety, from pizza to Chinese to Indian food and more, plus a big dessert station. There is a weekday happy hour in the early evening whereby if you vacate your table by 7pm, you save a few pounds.
g. P.
Attended on a Saturday night around 830-9pm. Some of the buffet dishes looked like they had sat there for a while...... What I tried was luke warm at best.
Stir fry, that they prepare for you was delicious, though the prawns were tiny.......
M. N.
Clean environment and very welcoming. child friendly. Great choice of food catering for all tastes. Staff members very attentive and pleasant. Affordable price.
Y. E.
Thanks to Groupon we had a bargain meal. I'm stuffed now. Good choice of dishes and tasty. Some things were quite spicy but nice. Definitely worth another visit. 👍
J. G.
First time i have been to this jimmy spices it was lovely!! We went on happy hour. 241 cocktails! Im pregnant at the moment so couldn't try them but they looked delicious will definitely be returning after i have baby just to try the cocktails lol the food and desserts was lovely too cant fault it. Will recommend to everyone. Will definitely be back soon!

We live in the south east and finding a good Indian restaurant is not as easy as you might think. We have visited Jimmy's all over the country. Some of the stores have been closed in recent years, but the ones that are left are fantastic! I believe that Birmingham(in general) is one of the places that produces top notch 'curry houses'. Jimmy's is a 'world food' buffet. They have all sorts on offer. You really can bring all the family along, and be sure that there will be something that everyone, not just eats, but loves. Jimmy's Birmingham is my favourite place to eat out by far. The staff are super friendly and knowledgable. The food is all ..... I can't think of a word that fits! It's fantastic, awesome and incredible all wrapped up in one. The service is great too, I love the place.
They have a deal on (at the moment?) Where you get a big discount on parking at 'brindly place' q park, which is just around the corner.
Ok, so this is a review, so in my opinion, if you like to eat out at a indian/chinese/pizza type place... try Jimmy's Birmingham. You wont regret it. The prices are per head/eat as much as you can squeeze in! When ever I'm within 50miles of Birmingham, I head there.
Now I'm hungry!
E. W.
Actually not a bad vegan selection from what I could tell. Chinese areas had tofu dishes and the huge selection meant I could grab salads and veggies.
I would really rate the place if allergen info was provided next to dishes. Or V/Vg signs. Then I wouldn't need to hunt down staff to query all the dishes all the time.
D.
Lovely all you can eat restaurant in Birmingham serving Mexican food, Chinese food, Indian food and other world food, too. When I went there last, the only offered a 2 hour stay. What is not the best amount of time if you have children. Very popular at lunchtime. This restaurant is away from the town centre but can you be easily accessed by bus
b. s.
Good food our hostess shazan was very polite and professional. The raw meat at grill could have been covered in my opinion!
Chefs were good and promt with services.
R.
Great place to dine in. Predominantly Indian food, some Chinese and Mediterranean as well. Reasonable prices for a wide range of buffet. Recommended 👍.
A. E.
Incredible everything! Highest quality food I have ever had at a buffet. MASSIVE selection of fresh food and 5 star service also, no faults. Brilliant waitress
H. M.
Not huge variety. Good for vegetarians and curry lovers but not much else
A. N.
The place is cozy. Buffet has a wide range of food, very fresh and warm. And hey don't miss the sunset view on the canal bank behind the restaurant...
M. H.
We visited on Sat 29th. The chicken in the Chicken Tikka Masala looked under cooked. Sorry but not only that it was luke warm. Chicken is dangerous being left lukewarm for long periods of time and it was not going down fast in the cold plates (should of been hot plate). I didn't trust any chicken dishes after that and alot of the food contained chicken. Ice cream machine was nice but the cheese cake things tasted off.
A. W.
There was nice food.
The piña colada was amazing and it came In a large glass.
The prices are very reasonable.
On the down side
There was not a wide variety of deserts.
The ice-cream was bland and there was no access to toppings for the ice-cream.
The sweet and sour chicken was tough
The fruits art the desert table were spoilt in some parts.
I went there around 2:30pm on a Wednesday.
P. B.
Very reasonable cuisine from around the world. Weekdays evenings £13.99, weekend £15.99, lunchtime, even cheaper. Everything from sushi to pizza, a full range, some even cooked for you, while you wait. Decent quality components, in an all you can eat venue.
K. L.
Love this place. Awesome buffet selection. Larger selection after 4pm. Something for everyone and very reasonable prices. My favourite place to eat in Birmingham.
N. P.
Lovely food. Rajendra and staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a great time!
E. M. G.
This place is lovely and reasonably priced. The staff are nice and very helpful, I would advise you walk around and see what's on offer instead of seeing something and putting it on your plate, even though you can go back for more. Would recommend it.
s. s.
Good but does not have huge varieties..
M. P.
Very nice place, you can feel confident that you're safe even during these difficult times. Big variety of food.
h. s.
Good place for lunch. You get good variety here and is value for money. Several good vegetarian options here. Staff is very helpful and polite.
S. L.
They have moved to across the road. It's much more intimate and the decor is wow. Great atmosphere, had so much to chose from. Staff were friendly and helpful. If any of the dishes were running low, i'd ask them and they would cook more fresh and bring it to my table. Definitely would go again.
S. P.
Nice ambience. Nice food quality. Good options of food to choose from. attentive staff.already visited more than 3 times. And will visit more in future.
d. h.
The pictures say it all :) so much to choose from
S. K.
Good place to socialise over a good spread of food. Buffet means no hassle of ordering. Variety of cuisine is a definite positive.
K. L.
Really good food and friendly service.
J. K.
The main buffet is excellent. Great choice of dishes, and many cooked fresh in front of you. Quality of meat excellent.
The only disappointment was the desserts...not that great.
X. W.
Jimmy Spices used to be "Very Good / Excellent" and has now lost most of it's charm. The new "diversity" of available food (sushi, hamburgers,...) seems solely there to touch a broader population. It makes sense from a business point of view, but there is now a lot less focus and choice on Oriental/Asian options. What a shame.
D. S.
Pretty much whatever your looking for in an all you can eat restaurant is here at Jimmy Spices. An amazing selection of food from all around the world. My favourites are the starters and the desserts, but the mains are good too. So much choice it hurts!
K. N.
Perfect table service of buffet items due to Corona.
P. T.
Such a variety of good, help-yourself food - even for vegetarians. My only concern about these places is the uncertain hygiene standards of those who use them. Just hoped that everyone who used the serving utensils had clean hands and didn't breathe too heavily over the food!
O. A.
The staff are very hospitable and nice, compared with others. The food choices... let's just say I've had better experience somewhere else. They do try though.
Y.
It offers a wide range of middle East and Asian cuisine, however lacking that one star is the fact that the atmosphere is kind of dead. A bit of music will do over the voices of people. Other than that, customer service is terrific, food is nice, I took a fancy for the dim suh, so nice!
S. S.
Big restaurant with friendly staff. Lunch menu is good but could do with a bit more meat variety. Great for casual eating & dates.
P. G.
Wonderful place...kids had a lovely time.. a huge variety food..will definitely go there again
M. W.
All you can eat help yourself buffet. Lots of different choices, Indian, Chinese, pizza, pasta etc etc. Tepenyaki (?) Chefs will cook your choice of meats and vegetables with whatever sauce. I went when it was quiet, so most seats unoccupied. I think it might be a bit chaotic when full though.
D. R.
I always enjoy the food here but, it can be a little expensive if you don't plan on eating much. Especially when they automatically add on a service charge (considering it's mainly self-service, I would rather make my own choice on tipping.)
H. A.
Went with friends. Great variety of food on both veg and non veg. Plenty of space. Excellent choice for ten dinner and lunch. Nice food and staff were also friendly.
H. M.
Love going to Jimmy spices. One of my favourite restaurants. Freshly made food with lot of options. Indian food tastes how it should be. Staff is friendly. Time to time they do good offers like 2 for 1.
D. S.
Pretty much whatever your looking for in an all you can eat restaurant is here at Jimmy Spices. An amazing selection of food from all around the world. My favourites are the starters and the desserts, but the mains are good too. So much choice it hurts!
O. C.
The food tastes good, but I think it's too noisy in there. Also if you want some meat on the grill, they are leaving it even to much til it burns, even just a little bit.
G. Ż.
All you can eat buffet, what else would you expect than a little overcooked dishes, lot of salt and mediocrity. On the other hand, it is not expensive and you can try all sorts of various dishes from around the globe. The service is OK. Basically - you get your value for money.
M. M.
Having visited a few times on my visits back to Brum, It was a must do for my most recent visit. Unfortunately the quality has dropped from previous visits. The cuts of meat used seemed to be of a lower quality, there was less choice and some items were inedible eg. The cheesecake which was a flavourless mousse on a almost none existent biscuit base.
Whilst I appreciate that lower costs = higher profit I think that when it impacts quality so much then it is counter productive. Unfortunately I will not be returning.

Above average quality but high prices. I like the fact that this place has a range of food, but busy periods either need more staff or better management. Overall I would recommend Jimmy Spices, but only if you go at a non busy period.
V. L.
I love food and I had plenty. Everything was delicious and the staff are pleasant. Make sure you visit on an empty stomach!!
A. B.
Due to covid 19 .You get menu list at your table and have to tick what you want and the staff fetch it for you. Still eat as much as you like.
S. S.
Great atmosphere and a wide variety of choices. Drinks are a little on the expensive side however not ridiculously so. Staff were helpful. All in all a good choice for work outings or large groups of friends.

We(family of 8) visited on Boxing day lunch buffet around 3PM. It was shocking to see the Dosa counter cheff being so dirty and bad mannered. He made a mess of the dosa as well.Other counter cheffs looked shabby too. With such large variety and high standard of food making very good value for money it is pity to see such low standard of counter cheffs.

Cheap halal buffet. Loads of options. stellar menu. but food did not taste good esp the Chinese. hope they improve on the quality rather than dishing out more on the buffet menu.
g. g.
very nice place to go to, very clean, staff very helpful,
reasonable prices,
all you can eat from different foods such as pizza to whole chicken and curries, vegetable's, and many more.
will recommend to try.
M. G.
A good variety of food and food value for money. Took my son and his friend and they loved it. Any kind of cuisine you can think of
J. J.
Good menu, all you can eat. You can also pick your own fish and meat then its cooked in front of you, friendly staff and a quick service. Would reccomend given it a go.
f. 1.
Not as good as it used to be. Waitress was not interested in customers. Felt like we were intruding on her talking to the barman. Food is average but nothing special. Always refuse to pay the 10% service charge as the staff are dreary and you serve yourself!
N. C.
Decent place to eat with good food. The staff were friendly enough and the food was good, the only issue was the staff on their phone in the kitchen but overall a good place and a pleasant atmosphere, the place is clean and tidy and has a beautiful view of the canals
M.
Really average.
About 1/3 of the dishes were empty, available food was full of oil and appeared to be reheated several times.
As always, could have been a bad day for the team but this impression will last and I will go elsewhere next time. Nothing really significant to bring me back, betyer places out there.
O. A.
The staff are very hospitable and nice, compared with others. The food choices... let's just say I've had better experience somewhere else. They do try though.
K.
Got there at 8.30pm. Did not close until 10.30pm. No soup. No crispy duck. And started to pack things away at 9.30. Shame because this is a great place. Use groupon vouchers.
B. Y.
Always nice food. Hot and fresh. Good service. And £1 dine offer with paying full meal is excellent value for money.
S. T.
Wide variety and tasty foods for reasonable price. It was free for our 4yrs old toddler and we got 30% off from our parking at the Q-park Brindley Place
V. O.
POLITE AND FRIENDLY WEITERS. NICE FOOD. GOOD PRICE. BUT ONLY THING DISSAPOINTED Me WAS NO CAR PARK.and dirty and smelly toilet. Especially ladies own. No tissues, floor dirty and wet everywhere.also the 10% service charge. What is that all about?
I have never get any service charge in anyother restaurant before. I think it's not FAIR and doesn't make any sense. If i want to give tips to writers that is my choice not by force. So i am disappointed. Overall great food and nice weiters.
R. F. U.
Lovely place good variety of foods from all over the world and can even have it freshly cooked In front of you via a chef! Can get a little busy of an evening please bear in mind
V. J.
Friday night was far too busy and not enough food on display if you're not happy to wait for food to be cooked in front of you. Not your normal buffet. Didn't know what most of the dishes were.
C. S.
had amazing time with my family helpful staff will definitely visit again
E. M. G.
This place is lovely and reasonably priced. The staff are nice and very helpful, I would advise you walk around and see what's on offer instead of seeing something and putting it on your plate, even though you can go back for more. Would recommend it.
M. W.
Excellent range of food and all cooked very well. Can recomend the stir fry and the fresh naan is a must. Make sure to leave room for dessert, unlike me!
D. D.
Great food experience.
А. Б.
Amazing buffet. Too many options for Vegetarians They do grills, curry's, dosas, Chinese, Chaats, pakoras, tikkis,, golgappas. Woahh it's worth the money you are paying for. THANKS!
E. P.
Love Jimmy Spices, it has an amazing selection of food from around the world and cooks some dishes like noodles and fish to order. Soft scoop ice cream and candy floss for dessert! If you go on a Friday or Saturday night it can sometimes be loud so request a table further away from other tables and the speakers if you prefer a quieter atmosphere.
S. A.
Very far to walk from Central. Has lost it's shine. Wouldn't recommend it. No taste in food. Very less option . Try any other buffet. They have already closed all their branches. This is on the way to closure.
5.
Good variety and choice of food! Just wish the seafood dumplings would be a little better, they were ok, but you couldnt tell what seafood it was so it was quite generic.
K. M.
Lovely variety of food, decent prices and staff were very nice. We will definitely be returning next time we visit the city.
H. A.
Great service, decent food. Dessert was fairly good. Long queues which set it back a little. 3 out of 5. Will come again.
M. J.
Quite nice selection and not too bad price but staff weren't that friendly and a lot of the food was not fresh or cold or not replenished etc, probably might come again and pretty exquisite range of foods to endeavour
T. L.
Booked a table...got seated straight away...was very busy as these places always are and it was a Saturday night...food was varied with Indian Chinese and Italian and was a good choice of starters mains and deserts all well stocked up...good value for money
Z. S.
Nice clean decent place and good selection of foods. Perfect for all tastes.
R. C.
In my opinion its nice but nothing special .. the massala fish was lovely and cooked fresh and the chinese cooking station is great as u pick the raw food that u want , i had beef and prawns with noodles , onions and peppers.. the rest of the food is just ok .. its £13.99 pp on a night but i had a voucher through face book so my food bill was £14.99 for us both which softened the blow .. id say well worth a visit if u have a voucher

A. D.
Food is alright, not exceptional. Small variety of food for a buffet. No vegan options and only 2 vegetarian foods in total is very disappointing. Staff are nice and friendly.
y. a.
Food was decent, don’t go with the intention to eat halal dessert as it’s mostly not halal.
However customer service was lovely, everyone was smiley and will go again
W. A. T.
Still one of the best buffets in Central Birmingham, the food wasn't as good as my last visit. But deserves 4ish stars.
T. M.
Incredible selection of delicious foods - I barely scratched the surface, but was sticking to fish, chicken, vegetables, all of which was exquisite stuff. Friendly, attentive staff - I will head straight there next time I'm in Birmingham.
A. “.
Unlimited quality food! What's not to like. Tables are cleaned every time a plate becauses clear. For the money and location you can not go wrong
j. p.
Love this place. Delicious food, amazing choice, great price. An eating experience rather than just a meal out. Not a quiet place to eat.
C. O.
Went for Saturday afternoon for lunch. Food was lovely and there was a really great selection. Shame that I can’t be as complimentary about the staff, who are rude and look very cross!
E. P.
Good when you are very hungry but can't decide, what food you would like. Moderate pricing, food is OK. Good choice for desserts - not many other places serve candy floss :)
M. V.
I usually don't write reviews but this was a great place to eat. So much variety and tastes even better when they make it in front of you. A place to go with family or friends on a saturday night.
N. G.
Not what I was expecting but lots of the food was delicious and it was certainly an interesting experience. I recommend angling for a good table, you will make many trips to the buffet tables and and it's a very big room.
F. S.
There is a wide variety of food and desserts that you can choose and eat as many time you want!
The staff are very friendly and helpful
I would recommend everyone to visit the restaurant in the future
J. R.
Get a coupon online. Amazing buffet with worldwide variety: Thai, Indian, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, American foods. Many things are fresh to order, like the stir fry and burgers
G. C.
Great place to eat. Been there couple of time already, and I'm always happy when I leave the place, it's the only buffet where I can see my son enjoying food.
A. F.
nothing special is big name is buffet buffet but unfortunately not too much variety I'm going always zryab buffet Alum Rock is best and too much variety to be honest very good. So just 3 stars according to me.
J. J.
The food was lovely, no sushi though :( plenty of desserts, not as much variety as I was expecting but can't complain with what was there :) don't regret going.
S. C.
Went for all you can eat lunch, and it was really nice. Lots of choice and good quality. Going to go back for dinner at some point.
D. R.
Went as part of a large group, good service and reasonably priced for an all you can eat buffet. If you like a plate full of a random mix of food styles, this is for you.
J. S.
Over the years Jimmy Spices has lost it... My husband and i came here for our 3rd wedding anniversary. Attending the lunch time buffet the food was dry and over salted so disappointing as this used to be our favourite go to restaurant.
A. D.
We visited with a large group (there was 60 of us) and there was excellent service. Everything was sorted out quickly and the food was great as well. I would highly recommend it.
S. S.
Big restaurant with friendly staff. Lunch menu is good but could do with a bit more meat variety. Great for casual eating & dates.
B. S.
Food was excellent wide variety very good price just ate too much
b. T.
It's a very big place with plenty of nice food and a good acoustics. The personnel is helpful and great. The price superb!
P. H.
Fair choice of food hot but we went on a Saturday night very busy waiting staff did a great job I would not like to do that job well done to them
K. M.
2nd Jimmy spices restaurant we have visited. Beautiful and excellent selection of fresh dishes from different continents. Excellent value with friendly, efficient staff. Very clean. 5 🌟

Nice spread, taste was good , except the live counter where the items tasted a bit bland. Overall it was a nice experience, would like to recommend it
M. L.
I went here with my parents and we all had a great time. The stuff it's very nice and the food it's great.
J. C.
Decent food but staff rude and lurking around us whilst we ate to make sure we didnt go over the two hours set.
R. B.
Decent food and service. Exactly what you'd expect from an All-You-Can-Eat buffet style place
W. P.
Such a variety of foods. We all had something different. Really recommend this one. Love the fresh cooked stations. Clean and well presented.
