Reviews of Toby Carvery Maes Knoll (Bristol)
T. B.
Lovely meal!
Looks so much better and the staff are really friendly and welcoming. Saturday night like a mad house but we’re really calm under pressure. Shout out to Ryan, the manger training the young lad, patient and showing him what to do. Could not fault it.
T. C.
The service was friendly and helpful and the food was really tasty and fresh. The meat was all cooked really well and was succulent. There was a shortage of a couple of condiments and some splages of food that could have been cleaned up but the price for the food is very good. It was very busy but didn't have to wait long for food and the restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated also a good selection of afters.
Z.
Very nice there, the veg was lovely and fresh and the meat was succulent. Definetly keep you going for a while, the price good too and staff very pleasant. The veg option is good, with a massive toad in the hole with meat free sausages just put whatever veg on top of it. Will go there again, have done before, never disappointed and recommend you give it a go.

This wasn't the first visit to Maes Knoll and the standards are still very good.
The staff are hard working but still manage to stay very friendly and welcoming.
The food quality is always very fresh and good with plenty of choice.
The one thing that I would comment on is that the Ice and Water machine has been out of order for several weeks now which causes some inconvenience.
M. P.
We arrived early and we went to the bar for a drink as our table was not ready. As soon as we received the drinks we were told the table was ready. The 3 of us decided we would like a Carvery meal, there was no queuing as we got our food. All the people behind the food counter were very friendly asking were we came from and being just nice. We all had a very good Carvery and did not need a pudding. The Maes Knoll is very nicely decorated.
d.
Delivery was on time. Taste great. Temperature was good. Would of been 5 start but I couldn't see where or if I could not have cauliflower cheese or change for something different. Will definitely use again
A. J.
Friendly staff, some with real local flavour.
Clean and tidy but not clinical. Pretty much as good as it gets.
Carveries generally are excellent value for money and Toby a a cut above the average.
A great choice if you want quick service. (at all but the busiest times ie Sundays before 3pm).

Went to Toby Carvery today and I had have to tell you I was very impressed! Yorkshire pudding was HUGE! Mint sauce with the beef (some might say its wrong but I was most pleased as I don't think they had any lamb, and I do like mint sauce on all my roasts). Sat outside in the sun with my sunglasses on, and it's only March. We'll done Toby et all x.
m. c.
Friendly clean and welcoming. Helpful staff. Carvery very nice quality and decent sized portion. Very much a pleasant visit. Definitely will return again.
S. P.
Booked in advance but seated on a table that felt like an add on, (table 9) stuck out on a corner next to a toy machine and directly in line of the main door that was permanently open, absolutely freezing! I have to say the food was hot and good value for money, but the service wasn’t the best! Sorry!
W. C.
Food was very good including service. Food wait was long. At busy times it can be an hour wait in the queue for the carvery. But we were with the family so had a fun chat while waiting.
C. M.
I went there a couple of months ago with my family, I had a great meal, the chicken was absolutely delicious, and a good dessert. The dessert however was a little sickly. The staff were also very friendly. I had an amazing time tho :)
D. D. B. R.
Great time. Good service friendly staff. Nice meat portions all well cooked. Great value. Myselfxandcfellow diners very impressed.
A. M.
I was really looking forward to returning back to Maes Knoll after such a long Hiatus.
As always the staff were really friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the quality of the meal was disappointing. We had veggie roast, the vegetables were overcooked, not many options to choose from. The Gravy had massive lumps in the jug.
We love Toby Carvery usually, just not on this occasion.
J. W.
Seated quickly. Carvery hot and fresh. Server attentive. Hot dog from the menu hit the spot with my fussy eater. Happy all round.
D. W.
I have been going to the Toby carvery for about 30 years now, I first went in 1990 when it was the black lion, I can honestly say today was the best carvery I've ever had, myself my partner did have a few years when we didn't visit as the standards really dropped but today the chef was brilliant the food was lovely and it was a nice change to have lamb on the menu which I've never ever seen in your pub before, the waitresses were lovely and whole experience was very enjoyable I deed, we just parked up and
were eating within 10 minutes, perfect.
F. M. (.
Disappointing. Just stopped in for a drink and whilst there were two people behind the bar, one lad, who was busy serving drinks, the other, a young girl, doing nothing more than being busy chatting to other colleagues... I stood there for several minutes before the chatty girl stopped, looked at me, and asked if I was being served! HELLO? Why would I be stood at the bar, all this time, other than to be mildly entertained by your chat? 🤷♂️
I asked the her for a John Smiths from the draught selection only for her to say "sorry, we don't have that". Ok, I'll have Doom Bar from your slightly limited choice of draught ales.
"Sorry, we only have that in bottles"
PARDON?
1 beer later, we left.
Shambles.
g. b.
All thr staff on duty that evening especially June the waitress and corey who was behind the carvery they were absolutely amazing so cheerful and friendly nothing was too much trouble
c. m.
Lovely food , lots of choice and the meat was so tender would definitely recommend. Staff were really friendly and helpful to.
G. D.
On our visit today! June was fantastic met all our needs, Very polite always checked up on us! Very much appreciated! Will definitely come back again!
j. n.
Was not as good as my regular Toby Carvery. Tea was served in a cup, I like a teapot as you get more tea. I don’t know if I came at the wrong time of day ( 13:30) but he meat was dry and fatty, sort of like the dregs. I had to wash the cutlery in the toilets as they weren’t quite clean. Had to go up and ask for sugar for the tea. Had to ask for serviettes. Food was not hot enough, lukewarm and cold by the time I was a third of the way through.
I couldn’t find any menus around either to see what there was.
Could be very good with a few changes.
K. B.
The food was excellent and a good atmosphere too , staff friendly and helpful, recommend to anyone , plenty of parking too , well worth a visit 😀
A. T.
Everything is great, the staff very friendly , they offer a very good service.
The Carvery is the best.
C. J.
I have no complaints or recomendations. Great carvery, great value, friendly staff!
M. B.
My wife and I booked Sunday lunch. Absolutely beautifully cooked food, generous portions and loads of vegetables.
Drinks served super efficiently.
Not surprising the place was full and for anyone looking to go, make sure you book up early.
All the staff are hard working, polite and professional. Many thanks.
R. S.
Extremely friendly staff, especially the guy on the carvery. Food was delicious. Was very hot and when we arrived had just had a change over so had not been stood. Service was quick and pleasant
A. J.
Had a lovely take out roast for my partner. As I was out shopping all-day. So picked it up on my way home 🙂
M. P.
Waitresses efficient, friendly and helpful, good choice of food, but could have been warmer, also bowls of cranberry sauce, mint etc empty and nobody around to refill them
L. L.
Wasn't busy, as expected it to be at 2.30pm, very happy as was my son's b'day so a nice lunch out. Food was great with a good choice of 4 meats at self service area, 3 Adult Carveries, 3 top up drinks, 2 large Pudding's all for £43, cannot go wrong! EDIT: I have since received a Parking Fine for £85, I did not see any Sign within the Entrance Area, neither was I informed to Enter my Registration Details on to the Digital Screen on the Welcome Desk - however had this Screen been visibly on then I would have done so, I was neither informed to do this by any Staff Member, I am therefore put off from going here again, which is such a shame as our Favourite place to Eat!
N. A.
Quiet, took a long time to actually be noticed and seated despite it being fairly empty. Food was ok, if you want a quick roast without the prep and washing up. Gluten free options available.
J. A. H.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is great. The atmosphere was nice too. A great place to have something to eat and drink.
A. C.
Food nice waitress was very pushy felt like we were nt welcome once dinner was finished
C. S.
Nice little place. Food was as expected for a Toby carvery. Although they do have a few options that weren't available due to delivery issues. But the manager was fab. He helped us with anything that we needed. Including opening the disabled toilet for us as it was easier to get to. He even offered to get me a chair to sit by the main door while my partner got the car around so I didn't have to walk that far.
M. B.
Great place lovely food good value and very friendly staff. Really enjoyed my roast whilst visiting Bristol
c. u.
Food nice especially the mushrooms.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Just need to look at toilet roll dispensers.
Hard to pull toilet roll to use.
c. w.
Always enjoyed every second of being here. Lovely service, never a problem to big. And food is lovely too.
S. M.
Cerys our waitress was so lovely and prompt. The pub has had a wonderful makeover. Great family night out Thankyou
A. P.
Although the food was good. The sevice on the carvery was very slow and the servers clothing could do with being changed throughout there shift as it was quite stained and could put people off.
V. W.
Had a great service today, especially the waitress June who was very polite attentive considerate and kind. I think June should be given acknowledgement for her sevice.
A. S.
Lovely buffet breakfast. Only a fiver, everything was freshly out, coffee was good and you can even have a Yorkshire on the top!
J. P.
Alicia waitressed our table of 18 on Saturday she was very polite to all of us she gave great service We will definitely be back definitely recommend
c.
Large choice of trimmings, including macaroni and cheese which was somewhat unexpected. Definitely filling, as I struggled to finish some of my plate. Service was quite slow; it took about 20 mins to get our drinks ordered, and another 15 minutes before someone came to take my veggie order which had to be ordered separately from the cavery. Otherwise a very standard Tobey Carvery with lots of choices and decent quality.
R. G.
Had amazing roast everytime i gone and staff r so friendly and helpful highly recommend to anyone any day of the week to visit well done guys
C. S.
My first visit here after years of driving past.
My daughter had her baby shower there, 25 people attended. The staff where super helpful and polite and made it special. We had our own section of the carvery with our own personal waitress who was fantastic. The carvery was busy with other customers but we felt very welcomed. Highly recommeded
K. T.
Got a good to go bag from you and it was nice will be back again for another 1
T. D.
Great food and nice friendly service from Stacey, thank you for making our visit enjoyable.
D.
The staff are friendly and welcoming,,,nice atmosphere lovely garden,,,nice food good varied menu,,,,,,,,,sun 8 th sept:::: yet another very pleasant experience,,,,love the staffs politeness and helpfulness again today,,such nice people,, thoroughly enjoyed our food and experience here::::::; new visit 22/09/19 have to say today's visit was a bit disappointing,,,staff as lovely and friendly as ever gotta say,,,,but today's breakfast was missing a lot of items ,,,which were noticeable by many patrons some items removed from menu no replacements and some just weren't there ☹️☹️☹️
C. A.
The new refurbishment is lovely. The food is delicious. Always very busy but plenty of space.
M. P.
Went for a last minute carvery, the guy on the door was very helpful and managed to squeeze us in. The staff were all friendly and happy to help. The food was good with a great range of veg. Meat was well cooked, roast potatoes were good and the gravy was lovely. Oh and the chocolate brownie was amazing.
G. M.
I don't like the taste of the mashed potatoes.carrots anything that uses butter.it taste like the butter gone off I know it isn't but that's what it reminds me of nastyness
C. P.
Visit here for breakfast. Ideal. Can get busy but always manage to get a table. Mushrooms taste nice and fresh.
Tea and coffee is self serve but located close to the exit of the breakfast buffet so you can get in people's way as your trying to make drinks.
The decor is still dark and drab but that's been like that for years and years now so can't see it changing soon !!
T. R.
Very friendly staff, good quality ingredients and outstandingly good value.
F. S.
Went here for lunch New Years Eve. Lovely food, waited on by young lady called Teresa. Very friendly and polite.
B. A.
A great all you can eat Breakfast, also being the home of the Roast dinner that also tastes great.
C. B.
The food and service was absolutely great. Only downside was that my hand and arms kept getting stuck to the table. It was like sitting in a back Street cafe... Could do with a proper clean and as the place was near empty their really was no excuse for dirty sticky tables... Otherwise staff are really friendly and welcoming and again food and service was great 👍👍👍
S. Y.
Lovely vegetarian option with lots of choice of vegetables
Large sundae for dessert! 😋 We'll definitely be returning for lunch again!
C. P.
Always lovely but especially so after the-fit, the new layout makes so much more sense. Staff are so helpful and accommodating
J. C.
One of us was vegetarian and choose something then it wasn’t on the menu. In the end there was only two items on this menu. Very disappointing
A. W.
Food very good, staff very friendly.
Very few masks warn by staff or customers, apart from our party.
Pub was totally packed!
We have all now been pinged on our track and trace NHS apps to say someone in there has tested positive for Covid 19 we have all now been instructed to follow guidelines and have PCR tests, none of us can go to work or visit friends or family.
Maybe masks should be compulsory????
S. H. (. C.
Not been here for a while, last few times food was awful, it has been refurbished and the food was lovely.
C. B.
Nice refit, food lovely, staff great it's a shame the refit didn't run to replacing the old Grotti plates 😩
M. &. M.
Food was good
Service was great.
Glad that they are refurbishing it in Jan 2022 (it needs it as the place feels tired)
c. d.
Much improved menu. Not everyone likes a roast. The cheesy mushrooms were really nice.
P. H.
Nice tasting carvery with a choice of four meats although we were slightly worried when we got to choose. Only one joint had enough on it (gammon) to provide a meal the other three were down to the last scraps. I would have thought they all would have been replenished but were only done so one by one as people asked. But other than that the food and service was excellent, would return again.
J. T.
Lovely carvery. Staff really friendly and helpful, especially June. June is wonderful!
L. W.
It's OK FOR a mid week dinner. Not a huge amount of taste, but good portion sizes. I like the table service - it seemed to speed the process up (not huge queue)
Avoid the chocolate fudge cake. So bitter I couldn't eat it and freezing cold so hard. Sent back but still had to pay for it
H. H.
Food was great, staff are super lovely and polite and really helpful.
S. M.
Absolutely brilliant food and staff would recommend it has had a refurb
A. H.
Pity the roast beef was tough and chewy, rest of the food was excellent and good service.
L. H.
Lovely Breakfast, servery Dining area nicely spaced out unlike the side dining area so it didn't feel overly crowded on this visit. Food was really good and always kept well stocked. I had asked previously and their Breakfast items are grilled not fried which is good. Nice clean tables & friendly staff.
T. C.
The food was good. Reasonably priced, lots of options. The new lamb option was delicious. Very busy, probably should book in advance. Very LGBT friendly.
V. H.
After hearing they recently had a make over we thaught we would go for a meal. All the staff were pleasant especially our waitress kaite who did a fab job of taking care of us and was kind to my children, the carver was chatty with my husband, couldn't ask for better service. Food was great standard all fresh hot and plenty of it every thing looked neat and tidy. If we're down that end of bristol we will definitely return
Big thumbs up 👍
S. P.
Stopped off to have a bite to eat on a Friday lunch, and was surprised how busy it was, but with the kids off school, I suppose it's expected. On saying that, it didn't effect the service we had. From taken to our table, being served, the quality of the food and paying, it was perfect for what we wanted. The gammon and Turkey I had was really very good.
Now the only reason it's not 5 stars is we felt the seats looked and are tatty. They need recovering to to make it presentable. If your not worried about that, then it's top nosh and service.
L. C.
Very friendly atmosphere food was beautiful and fresh.
K. B.
Friendly staff, disappointed that they've added bacon to vegetarian friendly items at breakfast
Edited to add that having to request anything for a buffet breakfast kind of defeats the point of a buffet breakfast...
J. P.
Nice but never a good egg always left to long on hot plate
L. M. S.
Good value carvery lunch. I've been going to Toby franchises for years.
R. V.
The food was so scrumptious! I loved my meal there and the staff was lovely!
p. b.
What a great pub and restaurant staff were brilliant we live in western super mare would love your staff to move down to our Toby. Well done the Management and staff.
T. H.
Good carvery all the staff were very good
I. G.
Good hot food , well run , very busy,
T. A.
Lovely food and staff. Kayleigh was always there and smiling
R. N.
Wow what a change... had lunch there today our first visit for months, it was like the staff had been given happy pills. Nothing like our.last visit everything was just perfect, the food, the service, I couldn't find fault with our visit today so I have booked again for tomorrow. Thanks to the staff for making our meal just perfect. Give them all a big pay rise, they are fantastic people. Thank you all. XX ROG.
R. H.
Our experience here was absolutely lovely. Service and food was outstanding. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. We would like to say that June was fantastic from the moment we entered to the moment we left!
Definitely coming back again!
S. B.
The food was piping hot had roast beef and turkey with veg and gravy the staff were very welcome and helpful and even manged to fit and extra person in for us nothing was to much trouble will definitely eat there again
E. D.
We were looked after by June, who was first class and is an absolute credit to your business. Standard Toby Carvery food as you'd expect but service was worth leaving a review 👍 I also echo other reviews in asking you to pass this on to June - and like the review before suggests - definitely deserving of a pay rise. Brilliant customer service!
D. H.
Bit disappointed with the vegetable selection but otherwise it was very acceptable and nice.
L. R.
Love love love it! Toby Carvery is one of my fave chains, but this is a particularly good branch, the meat is tender and moist and the staff are lovely. The chefs and waitresses were so accommodating! 10/10 recommend
S. W.
Slightly high price, never enough meat for me. But everything else is so good.
K. B.
Good value for money, does what it says on the tin, lost 2 star for poor toilets and no hand-wash. Hopefully Staff will have corrected as did let them know.
G. M.
All you can eat breakfast was lovely
D. T.
Had a wonderful meal!! Everything was just lovely!! Callum and Duncan, the 2 servers were very nice and made sure me and my husband got everything we needed. Ryan, was a lovely young man, helped us to our seats and explained everything wonderfully. Our waitress, June, was so friendly and lovely!! All in all, we will definitely be back.
D. M.
Food was nice, service was good as they take your plate over for you. However, they don't really like noisy kids, can't be helped when there is 5 and not seen each other in like a year or so, but it was good Food. Reasonably priced too. So it's a yes from me.
Z. C.
Been twice in the last 2 weeks. 2 weeks ago whilst EOTHO was still on, food was really good, staff lovely pretty perfect considering they were busy. Went tonight (7/9), meat was lovely, but very stingy portion for standard, veg was hit and miss. Staff again were lovely, ordered a cake this time to takeaway, (salted caramel) was very dry. Overall satisfied with both visits.
T. S.
Food lovely, fudge cake hot, lovely atmosphere
P. H.
Pretty poor choice of veg, peas, carrots, sprouts cauliflower cheese. No parsnips, cabbage.
C. P.
Amazing food as per usual! Have been excited to come for the month and the food must of been the best I've ever had from this restaurant. Staff friendly as per usual. Can't wait to come back!
P. B.
currently undergoing a refurb but not a bad boozer, food is hit and miss though
L. M.
My first ever visit to Toby carvery and I was well received. I met by a friendly member of staff and seated at my table. The guy who served was very informative and helpful. I felt welcomed. I had king-size carvery and was stuffed afterwards. The decor need updating but that's only downside. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and if I ever find myself near to a Toby carvery again I would definitely reconsider. Price was also very reasonable. It was cold and wet when I went so a Toby carvery filled me up and left me feeling satisfied. Thanks Toby carvery! 👍
J. M.
Went for breakfast this morning with the kids first time going really good value for money food was great staff were so friendly and kind to my small children's definitely will be back 😊
B. T.
Food is lovely, staff are good and made us laugh! Have always loved this place. Do wish they give it a bit of TLC decor looking very tired
M. B.
The best value for money. There were three of us, and we had three meals, three drinks, three desserts, and two sides, and it all came up to just £51! The staff were friendly, and the food was very nice. The only thing I’d say is that chicken should definitely be on the carvery menu as well. I really don’t know why it isn’t.
A. T.
Really great carvery. This is the first time my wife and I have been since the pandemic and all covid rules were adhered to and made to feel welcome. It's great food at a great price.
M. G.
The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is I've never given. Having said that I went there just before we entered 3rd tier. The whole place was covid secure, but, it didn't feel like it the staff (who wore masks) were excellent. The carvery was also very good, hot and tasty. For a pub atmosphere and good it was at the top of the list. Hoping to visit again as soon as the tiers allow. Well worth a visit.
A.
Great food. The horse radish is lush and quicker service than fast food
P. M.
Interior upgraded .excellent. food and staff excellent. As always
D. L.
Delicious food, and great staff service!
S. P.
Excellent place to go if you're really hungry, haha. Lovely place to eat and drink and food is lush. The waitress we had was absolutely the best waitress I've ever had the privilege to be waited on. If you get me drift 😁 She was lovely, helpful and very nice to speak to which made me feel happy as I've had a bad few months. All staff are helpful and nice too but this lady was on another level 😉 definitely going back when it opens again cos u get so much for your money, it's belly busting 😋 family friendly. Gravy is so lush you could drink it, haha. Yes, can't rate it more, I can almost taste the roast now thinking about it. Mmmmmm.
G.
Fantastic food. Excellent value for money.
A. M.
Had a lovely Carvery. Arrived as a party of 2 and was seated promptly. Nice clean restaurant, and the staff were very friendly and polite. I had my meal with pork and also some beef and as much veggies as I liked. We also purchased refillable soft drinks. After eating felt very full, and didn’t have any room for desert.
My only complaint was the toilets were a bit smelly but that is not the staffs fault as I think they had a little bit of a drainage problem in the gentleman’s toilet
g. m.
Great food.quick polite,service.Good atmosphere.
K. S.
Food was great warm service with a smile it was better all round really could sit chilled better this way staff have more time for the customer in steady of rushing around hope it stays like this after the it all opens back to normal
M. B.
Great meals and service. Can get very busy and the carparks fills up quickly
J. L.
Walked in was welcomed . Shown to the table was made to feel very welcome every thing was done for us then the meal, I didn't realise they did such a diverse vegetarian menu made my college very happy me and the wife tukef into out carverys and enjoyed it
C. H.
Food isn't great the coffee was burnt but staff polite shame most the seating area is closed off made social distancing very difficult
g. c.
Quality food and friendly staff. Highly recommended for a great family meal out.
A. F.
Always have a good time here - mainly due to our regular waitress, June. She’s so lovely and attentive, definitely makes everything 10 x more enjoyable! Please pass the message on that we absolutely LOVE June!!! Give her a pay rise!!!
K.
Great buffet breakfast, staff were really welcoming & approachable.
Definitely returning.
N. H.
Super carvery and friendly helpful staff. Taking my dad out for his 81st birthday dinner, hadn’t booked but they were able to find us a table. COVID precautions look good and other customers following rules so no stressing.
W. P.
Great buffet breakfast before a day of shopping.
M. V.
Lovely meal, credit to all your staff, especially Shawn and Duncan behind the serving counter. Very helpful and professional. And Ryan who seated us was also very lovely. Will be back.
R. M.
I attended this Toby Carvery with my family and found it to be very pleasant. The staff were very attentive and patient with some of the more indecisive members of our party.
Only real complaint is that the Yorkshire puddings were very hard. Other that that it was very good and everything was well cooked. We had some young children with us, they had room to get up and wander around once they were finished with their food.
I've been here previously for breakfast and found that to be great value.
We'll likely go here again in future.
A. B.
Meal very good again, much better how its served now as you do not have the family in front of you dropping food every where. Staff very welcoming & helpful.
B. C.
Lovely food, good value.
M. J.
Had a lovely meal here. The food was excellent, the potato and carrot bake thing was amazing!! And the two lads serving, Shawn and Duncan were great, very funny and helped out brilliantly!! Will be back!!
V. D.
Really good Sunday roast and good price... Nice staff and nice place! Really enjoyed it
M. B.
This my fourth visit in a month and every time the food was delicious and hot which to me is essential nothing like a Luke warm meal. Staff are first class every one if them courteous and friendly especially in these challenging times your carvery group should be proud
S. A.
You get what you pay for here very basic food and staff
T. S.
Great to see some vegan options on the menu. Varied drinks choice as well. Unlimited veg was truly a blessing. Incredibly filling and won’t make a dent in your wallet. Will have to pop back when I’m next out that way. Cheers
A. H.
Was ok. Meat was tender ..not sure qbout the the "mashed swede." Was just massive slices ..cauliflowe cheese is always quite hard. Wouldnt say its the best
V. S.
What an amazing pub to visit. They followed all xobid rules and policies to keep us all safe.
The carvery never fails. The best place ever for a roast dinner be it mid week or the weekends.
The management a nd waiting staff are really great and go above and beyond as always.
S. M.
We attendrd for Christmas Lunch and was apprehensive around the COVID issues but we were so well looked after. Social distancing managed really well and the processes put in place for people to visit the carvery deck was very efficient. Staff were friendly and food was excellent. First time we ve eaten out on Xmas day and was a real treat
w. 6.
Not bad at all, cauliflower was a bit too firm needed cooking longer
E. M.
Cheerful enough little carvery with easy to access entrance for anyone in a wheelchair or with a buggy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the carvery was awesome with lots of choice. Only downside is that it was a bit difficult to fit us all in around the table as we'd booked for family reunion / gathering and space was tight.
C. B.
Very nice pub/restaurant.
Food is fantastic
Unlimited refill drink options are great.
Nice and clean
Waitress staff are very pleasant.
Deserts also nice
Prices are fair.
Car parking is limited but it's not to hard to find somewhere close by.
Wheelchair and disabled access is pretty easy.
The bar area is nice and does have a TV for sports.

Came here last week and was really impressed by the quality and service. I am a veggie and the selection was amazing, all cooked well and presented well. The lady that served us was brilliant too, didnt catch her name but made the experience all the better.
D. O.
Absolutely amazing! We was served by a lady called June. Her customer service was first class! It was my partner birthday and she brought out her dessert with a candle and sang happy birthday. It surprise us that she done that. Thank you
The food was cooked well its always nice. I highly recommend this place 100%
A. M.
Great attention and staff were friendly
k. w.
The food was fantastic, great atmosphere lots of indoor and outdoor space staff were good
C. I.
Not so tasty, friendly staff.
C. W.
Always love coming here. Food is absolutely great quality. Carvery offers a good range of food to ensure that you don't go hungry. And then the rather expansive list of deserts (Who hasn't got that last little space for a good pudding?) will hopefully leave you feeling satisfied for the rest of the day.
The staff are friendly and courteous and don't intrude while you're eating.
Top stuff from the team.
A. B.
Best carvery around. No competition for value and how good the food is.
Always a warm welcome to.
I mainly get served by June. She is a credit to Toby carvery and makes my visits great.
B. H.
Excellent Christmas meal, Christmas pud after, a few pints....great start to Christmas...
D. V.
The best carvery place I have been yet. And been in many places in UK but for today the Toby Carvery is definately the best one as the food is fingerlickingly good.
C. S.
Food was good took a while to find a clean plate as where all grubby in stack asked for 3 different set of cutlery as they were dirty, coffee was bitter and not very nice at all
C. D.
A really lovely experience. Unrushed, pleasant and helpful staff. Everything just right. Really made our valentines day. And we will be back.
J. R.
Nice carvery. There was an option of beef, gammon, Turkey, pork and they also do lamb on Sundays. Loads of extras too - Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, Mac and cheese, carrots, rubber beans, peas, mash potatoes, gravy and lots of sauces Apple, cranberry etc.... All for £8.50 . Not bad! They've got a kids option too for £5 which is basically the same stuff, but on a smaller plate.
There's refillable soft drinks (£3 ish) so you don't need to worry about the kids finishing their drink in about 2 minutes and then nagging you for another one!
We went on a Sunday at about 4.30 and there was a massive queue (about 30 mins) which wasn't great, but apparently that doesn't happen very often. I think that they might have been missing some staff so couldn't get the food out fast enough.
It's very popular so would definitely recommend that you book online otherwise you might not be able to get a table.
There's loads of parking so you shouldn't have problems finding a space, and there's a grassy area outside for the kids to play and some TVs inside for them to watch.
Some bits of the pub don't get mobile signal but others do. Depends where you sit.
Nice unpretentious carvery. Would recommend.
It's quite
D. R.
Went for Christmas Dinner it was OK but just the same old food
A.
My wife & I decided suddenly while passing to give lunch here a try. We've never ventured here before but thoroughly enjoyed our lovely carvery lunch. The staff were very helpful & pleasant & the pub has a nice busy atmosphere! Not state of the art but a nice traditional compfy feel & I'm sure we'll return when in the area!
P. F.
Good flat access for wheelchairs and disabled parking is not bad. 2 spaces are big and wide but one close to the entrance is rather small and near the rat run to the back car park. One thing I must say is that our waitress was excellent. She was helpful and did go above what was expected. Another member of staff did help my partner take her plate back to the table. Unfortunately the food was not great. It was just ok. In all, cheep refueling stop but some of the staff are waisted working here.
K.
Food hot but not the best I've had for the price.
V. N.
The food is ok, the experience is great.
j. s.
good food very good staff need to book very busy .
N.
£4.99 for all you can eat breakfast, can't go wrong
F. B.
Great food, friendly service
G. S.
Great Sunday carvery, reasonable prices and good service
K. P.
Took mum out today for a carvery as with the pandemic she doesnt get out very often. There were 4 of us and the social distancing measures were brilliant. Food was lovely and hot . Couldnt fault it to be honest and mum loved being able to get out. Will deffo be returning.
S. A.
Family outing on a busy Saturday afternoon. Service was very quick and staff very friendly. You really cannot find a cheaper roast at such a high standard. I’ve definitely had meals here that weren’t as great, is very dependent on whether new food is being put out when you go up or if it’s been there a little while, but today was absolutely perfect.
Value for money without necessarily compromising on quality!
B. D.
The carvery here is great. We visit a lot and have never been disappointed ..
M. J.
Had a lovely meal here. The food was excellent, the potato and carrot bake thing was amazing!! And the two lads serving, Shawn and Duncan were great, very funny and helped out brilliantly!! Will be back!!
D. R.
Went for Christmas Dinner it was OK but just the same old food
A. T.
Great food as always
W. B.
Such excellent service and was so helpful when the delivery driver made a mistake.
M. R.
Very very nice
C. H.
Food isn't great the coffee was burnt but staff polite shame most the seating area is closed off made social distancing very difficult
A. F.
Always have a good time here - mainly due to our regular waitress, June. She’s so lovely and attentive, definitely makes everything 10 x more enjoyable! Please pass the message on that we absolutely LOVE June!!! Give her a pay rise!!!
P. H.
Great food
R. W.
Went here today for my husband's birthday. They had taken notice of the text that I had sent after booking and we had banners on the table. Food was hot and plenty of it. Vegetarian sausages came out with cheesy potatoes and that was hot too. Yes the pub looks tired and a little messy but couldn't fault the food. Staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you we will be back.
T. H.
Great food , friendly staff
M. N.
Very nice, lovely food staff very officiant...
O. M.
Absolutely delicious 10/10 will go again
C. C.
Richard was the Host. Very friendly and professional. Made myself and Vicky Whitehead very welcome. Very enjoyable Breakfast and even asked if all was in order when selecting our Breakfasts. Zoe the Waitress was also very nice and Professional. So very nice to walk out with a feeling of returning. Exellent all round
T. G.
Gave this place 3 stars from past experiences when always good. Today we were served by a very miserable chef if my husband the meat lover was there he would have gone hungry my friend had a miniscule serving of Turkey with I grisly slice of beef. Luckily I'm a veggie which was all lovely. Need more bar staff too according to the disgruntled bar lady!
F. H.
The food was okay, I found the gammon was a little too salty and the Yorkshire had a lot of oil in it. My Nan ordered a British Style Sundae and it didn't have fresh strawberries or whipped cream as advertised and when questioned we found they used froze fruits for it and had run out. Other than that, you could say it was enjoyable.
A. F.
Lovely meal and staff wonderful
M. J.
Five of us arrived quite late for dinner and we were all very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. The crackling was particularly exceptional! Unfortunately the toilets were pretty disgusting and let the place down but I would still say the food and service was great.
D. F.
Great food friendly service quick service
B. S.
June was our waitress today and she was so so lovely. Really enjoyed taking my wife. Mother and 2year old daughter for lunch. Food is always good at Toby and we can't wait to return.
v. b.
Toby Carvery at the Maes knoll was a let down for the first time ever. Food was not uptown usually taste. Sausages were not nice at all and fried eggs were swimming in fat. Never had a bad meal generally and breakfast is usually spot on at 100%. All the staff are fantastic and evenings they cannot do enough for you. Lots of people complaining about breakfast. I hope today was a one off.
R. V.
Great carvery, wee pit more meat would be even better! My tip is to go for a bit of every thing, to get more than from a single choice of beaf, pork or ham etc. Best to book a table, but they'll always try n squeeze u in. So u may have to stand in a queue, even share a table, but I think it's worth it. If it's so popular it must be pretty good n it ant very pricey. Its FABtastic if it saves u cooking, clearing away n doing the washing-up and u've got a full satisfied belly at the end of the meal. To be honest, usually I don't have room for a pudding not even ice cream. The waiting girls are usually great n I've never had any hassles at any Toby Carvery. As it's a standard format, that really works n is top notch value4money!
M. L.
Greeting staff, great. Waiter didn't know to serve the lady of the group 1st. Even after been told he still served others 1st. Food ok, Carver was very polite and helpful.
M. P.
Very good carvery, friendly staff, covid precautions satisfactory. Only negative was presentation of food, vegetables just piled on top one after the other so couldn't find the meat until the end, otherwise good
N. C.
Meal was nice but meat could be more. It was very busy and a lot of people were shown to there tables but the waitresses were too long getting to people and therefore a lot of custom walked out the door. On top of that the ice cream machine broke down for the second week
t. l.
Service was excellent
Downside the fried eggs were hard and they use Lurpak and not butter
Toilets were very clean
L. H.
Lovely carvery as always. Great friendly helpful staff.
C. D.
Really friendly staff, amazing food - best place to go for a banging roast dinner
D. W.
Super succulent meat joints, good selection of vegetables. Couldn't indulge in what I was told were great sweets. 9in our party, all well satisfied, good service!
G. D.
It was very good food at the Toby carvery and I will gave it 5 st
Ars
A. F.
A reliable branch of Toby Carvery. Good organisation, consistently well cooked food and no long waits. Book ahead at busy times as they're quite often full. Only negative is the hideous toilets.
A. S.
Good food, good value breakfast.toilets could do with a make over/refresh.
P. M.
A great place for a carvery. Been going there for years. Good food and drink. Can be busy in the evenings but not so bad during mid week lunchtimes. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Nice to enjoy a meal without being rushed. Plenty of parking at rear of building. Looking forward to the next visit.
J.
Friendly staff. Clean place great choice of meat and veg at the carvery
P. A.
Well what can one say ! Wowzer absolutely gorgeous food fabulous staff 10 star review 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
C. H.
Very pleasant experience. Food and portion size very good, friendly staff, everything very clean and efficient. Well worth supporting this establishment.
C.
The man who was cutting up the meats didnt smile, meat was being very stretched it seemed (didnt have alot), made the que go back on itself to get the Yorkshire pudding after putting meat on plate then giving to customer. Not much choice of veg and sat eating about 2pm. Didnt seem organised at all on 8th March really.
a. c.
Great service and nice food
J. B.
Toby's are identical no matter where you go and is good quality and value for money. My only complaint is the sugar given with a pot of tea. I personally feel I am begging when I have to ask for more.
D. T.
We have been using the Maes Knoll every Thursday for 4 years. We have a drink and our son has a meal. Overall good service but its about time some money was spent on the garden area. Only 3 benches in the grass area and they have seen better days. Talk about missing a trick with the weather we are having this summer. To be fair they could easily extend the beer garden by fencing off the grass area which meets the car park. As a loyal customer I am quite annoyed I had to wait to sit outside! Bad management not to have enough outside seating areas!
B.
Food was great quality, friendly staff, quick service, very clean and reasonable value.
The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the mashed potato being cold.
Happy customer who will definitely visit again..
M. D.
Absolutely beautiful! Service was wonderful very polite.
K. B.
Had the nicest older lady server ( brown curly short hair) today was there about an hour ago and was the best customer service I've ever received . Nothing was ever to much for her , would come back again just for her. Shes amazing and I think some recongition for her hard work would be great :) thanks for a great evening !
S. A.
Went for breakfast, good selection of the usual cooked breakfast at the buffet. was quite busy with coach party. Didn't run out and always either had another dish waiting or came out just before running out. Weekend breakfast has gone up, so not such good value (weekday breakfast seems to have gone up less)
J. H.
I regularly visit this Toby and it has been a joy to watch the changes recently. The staff have become a lot more friendly and chirpy rather than the usual grunts we used to get whilst being carved meat, and the food has certainly improved tenfold recently, which is why we keep coming back!
M. R.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Premises were very clean comfortable surroundings. Food was Good, if not a little on the cheap and cheerful side. Would I eat there again????? Yes, but not for a while.
r. b.
The standard when it comes to a carvery, other place are better, but if they are worse then you'll feel hard done by. Reasonably priced, but often busy, so either wait or book in advance.
G. W.
Booking is advisable as we went on a Saturday morning for breakfast and it was busy. The food was hot and tasty along with happy and efficient staff. It was my birthday and they laid out a few banners which was good and very appreciated. Will be back again thank you.
J. E.
We were seated by a dirty window with a cold draught. Construction materials and a bucket full of ash from the fire were behind the table. We asked to move as it was very off putting. The food was lovely once we had a better table.
V. B.
Very skimpy portions of meat, cut very thin.. asked for beef from new joint out was told had to finish old one 1st which was the scraggly fatty bits... I refused these and was ingraciously given some of the new meat. Mash had obviously been out a while and was hard and warm... very poor selection of veg. No parsnips and when asked was told only have them at Christmas! Yorkshire rock hard and stone cold.
Food was okay... lunch time on a Friday so quite quiet.. food had been out too long and was dry...
H. B.
Lovely Mid week carvery. Food was lovely. The roast pork was sooo tender. Yummy. Young man with the beard who attended us was very nice and helpful & even helped with the wheelchair. Thank you
S. C.
The food was brilliant no fault. But sitting in the only seats in the bar and next to a door where everyone goes for a cigarette was very cold. There were lots of children and all very well behaved. But another family just let thier kids run riot. While thier parents ate thier dinner. We as customers having to put up with them running around our table while we were trying to eat. I know the pub was very busy but the parents should have controlled thier children or the manager step in.
C. J.
The greeter was lovely. Unfortunately, the meat was fatty and it took us forever to get our bill brought to us. My husband's chosen dessert also wasn't available
W. S.
Great food will b glad when restrictions r over so we can help ourselves again
J. M.
Food was cooked perfectly, and the waitresses were there when needed. Amazing!
N. M.
Loved the staff the feel of the place but the roast potatos were leatherey could not cut them peas were very dry and sprouts stuffing was rubber like, meat was really nice tho.Maybe I came at the wrong time of day as my friends rave about you. Asked for carling got a beer that tasted like my Nan's perfume lol if u fix the veg I'd come back.
C. P.
Great staff food not very good
S. L.
After going to this carvery on a fairly frequently basis, I can honestly say I think its one of the best ive been too. The food is always tasty and varied. Ive never had a bad experience there and always had very good service from all of the staff who are always friendly and professional. They even give you the option on the carvery of paying an extra 1.50 to upgrade to kingsize. Well worthwhile doing if you've got a good appetite. They also do all you can eat breakfast. Again its really great value. Ive tried other places but nothing can touch this. I can thoroughly recommended this place. Im sure you wont be disappointed
G.
Visited for the all you can eat breakfast and it did not disappoint load your plate as much as you like and as many times as you like.
Sausages taste great bacon is good beans Tom's toast all types of eggs and even a Yorkshire pud to fill with beans lol sounds wierd but it works
L. E.
Yummy roast! My partners 1st ever visit and he was impressed! And even though it was busy, staff were polite and attentive and we werent kept waiting, the only advice id give is always book as they are always busy.
S. L.
Very tasty carvery, very happy friendly waiter. We all enjoyed our meal and although we sat around chatting we didn't feel hurried at all, despite it being a busy Bank Holiday Monday lunchtime.
J. C.
Popular as only one near bath and Bristol. Good that you can now book on the app in advance especially for Sunday roasts! Will be going again next week! The roast potatoes however were quite hard.
o. h.
Great food and great service as always the carver now serves up your food for you like a toby carvery subway due to the corona and now you have to ask the staff for the refill as there machine isn't on atm but me and my friend really enjoyed coming back ☺
K. W.
Food lovely staff very friendly i go every week
L. L.
Really quick and easy service. Very pleased with the amount of food for the price. Also a very nice wide variety of vegetables and sauces. Happy to eat here!
S. B.
Excellent food at great price staff are really friendly definitely go back
A. S.
Always have good food.. the girls who work there on the days we go there. Always deliver great service & so down to earth & happy.. great service..keep up the good work x👌💯
L. N.
Myself, my daughter and her boyfriend visited Maes Knoll on Sunday may 26th. Fabulous, well cooked and yummy food. Pleasant and helpful waiting staff. Well run and courteous service. Lush honeycombe sundae !!!!
D. M.
Great meal, service was top notch!! Callum and Duncan serving were great, and our waitress June was amazing!! Will definitely be back again!
p. w.
Booking on line makes it so easy and fuss free. Arrived straight to table no waiting and being told 30-50 waiting time.
Carvery had a que but less than 7 minutes.
Well presented and continuly replenished. .being a AA member get 20% food and drink
S. Q.
Took my husband and children here today...It was horrible. I LOVE a roast dinner and Toby Carvery normally never disappoints. The Gammon was very fatty, I had hardly any meat left, the pork and beef I found particulary dry. As always the yorkshires didnt disappoint. But i wasn't too happy with the lack of vegetables. No brocolli or cabbage. The cauliflower cheese was non existent as there was no cheese just horrible hard cauliflower. The roast potatos were hard, the potatos and carrots which are always my fave tasted very undercooked and again hard!!! And lastly the gravy tasted very grainy just not nice atall.. I left alot of my meal. If this was my first experince if Toby Carvery. It would most definitely be the last. I certainly won't be returning!!!!
T. S.
First time since December 2019 and was highly impressed. Keep up the great work.
J. A.
Great value for money and the food didn't disappoint. Will return ASAP.
H. C.
I arrived at their closing time but they served me anyway. Very nice of them. I had travelled a long way and was tired and hungry. I really appreciated their friendly hospitality.
D. W.
Excellent, have already recommended it to friends in another pub. We have only just left . The carvery was exceptional many thanks to the chefs and staff for the very warm and welcoming happy Christmas to you all .
S. M.
Lovely roast considering very busy will go again well recommend
S. K.
Rather pricey at £12 for cold veg and a tiny bit of meat
N. R.
The food is always amazing, Sunday carvery is lush! Tho can get extremely busy on a Sunday, so best to book a table. The staff are very friendly.
J. A.
Cant go wrong with a Carvery, supported by loads of tasty veg and swimming in the magic gravy.
My 2 year old drinks the gravy like orange juice, she likes it that much!!!
P. h.
Very run down slap dash carvery however food is ok and the team do try
t.
great value,traditional English fare.Delicious!
B. B.
Really enjoyed the food, service was very efficient and staff very friendly. We used a voucher to pay and it was no issue at all. Highly recommend for a good roast.
C. N.
Brilliant place to go . I love a carvery. . When you compare a carvery to a mc donnalds meal for around the same price I no what I would choose. . You always get enough meat . I always ask for a bit of each. . Pile ones much veg as you like.
M. E.
Today is the 5th of February. visited the Toby Carvery and really liked it definitely will be going back. pretty much a Sunday dinner every day and a pint of Pepsi Max refill for just £10 bargain :)
S. C.
Nice place good food can be busy. Staff are excellent very lovely young lady served us and was very well presented and mannered and very helpful.
C. B.
Very friendly and helpful staff who explained everything very well to us. The food was of great quality and overall this is a good place to go for a nice family meal.
J. B.
Always a nice friendly team and the food is plentiful. Would like more greens on but as I am on slimming world I know I can eat here and fill up on veg and the other things like potatoes and cauliflower cheese are fairly low syns.
N. K.
Great, succulent meat with amazing roast potatoes. Staff were nice, toilets were clean. The Yorkshire puddings were very deformed, but otherwise, it was great.
F. B.
This establishment has been refurbished since my last visit quite tastefully and the food is up to standard in fact it's very good and I would strongly recommend it. We will certainly be going again but it is advisable to book in advance as this is one very busy place
R. B.
Thoroughly enjoyed a carvery meal today with 3 friends, eat as much as you can get on a large plate, delicious choices of meat, and afters to die for. No washing up there or at home later, we don't need tea. Thanks Toby.
W. H.
The only negative comment I can make is to ask why you had a bar with multiple pumps and could only offer bottled beers??
D. F.
Really nice, didn't get the extra things I was meant to get with king-size though but I didn't realise till after
J. H.
Quick, very friendly staff and food was pretty good. The actual restaurant could do with a refurb, but for a cheap and quick roast it does the job well
W. S.
I love the Toby Carvery but today i was a little disappointed with the beef.it was very hard to eat being very grisley .veggies etc were fine. Such a shame as i go on a regular basis. Will give it another try as i am hoping it was just a one off.
G. W.
My dad and I had a roast lunch time. unfortunately the beef was very chewy and we both ended up spitting it out. It isn't usually that bad. ☹
m. m.
Didn't enjoy the carvery, the food wasn't as warm as it should've been. It made taste a bit greasy. Maybe this a one off experience. Plenty of parking onsite and seems popular enough
J. J.
It's ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Same as all the other cheap pub chains.
Wouldn't be our normal stop however we didn't know the area.
S. G.
Cheap and cheerful. Not the best quality but good for a quick roast when I can't be bothered myself. Friendly staff who can usually squeeze you in even when they are rammed.
J. C.
Great food and excellent COVID procedures in place. We'll be returning soon!
n. b.
We came tonight. The staff were happy and helpful. Can't wait to come back when you reopen after this next lockdown.
C. S.
Never had a bad meal here. It's a carvery but good, and well worth the price. All you can eat breakfasts are great, too!
M. M.
Lovely place to eat, shame the staff are terrible!
Have to wait ages to get your drinks, order desserts ect (even if they're not busy).
P. W.
It was the first time myself and my husband had been to this Toby Carvery as we called in on our way home from weekend away.
It was very nice place to eat the meal was very nice and the staff very helpful and friendly would recommend this place to eat at
R. B.
Staff very efficient, and welcoming, food good service good. Company excellent.
F. C.
Very nice lunch, good value for money. Would recommend
S. W.
Very good, friendly staff. As usual I ate too much and now feel like I have a bowling ball in my guts.
S. J.
Even through that were very busy and looked short staffed. The manager Richard and barman worked tirelessly to serve and ensure people had a lovely time. Only let down was the dessert.
J. L.
Good friendly service, generous portions, busy and popular so you should probably book in advance.
R. P.
We were a late arrival, unfortunately, beyond the staffs control, several small groups followed us in and went straight to Carvery. Our party had starters, and,a result the meat was very limited when we did go to the carvery.
J. P.
A LOVELY place as a family we love Toby Carvery, good value for money, we was on the Xmas market's weekend, and very nice to go to one of the other Tobys, we normally go to Captain Manbys at Gorleston.
D. M.
Not sure why waitress carried my carvery plate to our table. But friendly staff & yummy food
R. G.
Sunday breakfast at the Toby Carvery with my lady. Nom nom. Unlimited cooked breakfast....what more could you want if you are being lazy and don't want to cook breakfast yourself. I particularly love the potato bubble and squeak. You can even have a breakfast Yorkshire pudding if you want. Coffee is unlimited and you help yourself from the filter machine. We would definitely go again.
M. N.
Beautiful as always.. just love it.. x
J. H.
Great Veggie carvery. Always consistently good. Can't comment on the meats because I don't eat it, but it's extremely popular here and that's probably the best recommendation you could ask for
S. H.
I visit here regularly and always have an enjoyable experience, the food is consistent and great value, but the staff are always so fun and friendly which my young daughter loves and always asks to return here when we go out to eat
J. C.
Waited ten minutes at counter before getting served, roast beef was fatty and full of grisil
L. N.
Carvery was nice, the roasters weren't as good as other times, and some veg were only barley warm but they were nearly empty, should have asked for fresh ones (but then by the time you wait for them the rest gets cold) you just gotta time it right.
J. T.
It can sometimes be a bit hit and miss but it's been a while since I've been and it was very nice. Lovely beef and roast potatoes, veg and Yorkshire good too.😋
T. R.
Fantastic service from very friendly and polite staff. The quality and value for money is great plus the bonus of a 50% discount voucher on the app !!
T. H.
We came here hoping to take away a carvery. But they didn't have any take away containers so we ate in. Then the next time we came we took our own containers (sweet containers) and took away the carvery.
C. R.
Lunch today was very good and so nice to see very friendly smiley staff behind the carvery counter . well done keep it up..will return in a few weeks..
C. C.
It was a Boxing Day meal. It was very nice but, because it was so busy, the starter & puddings were not as hot or fresh as they should have been.
D. U.
Allways friendly staff and good eating....only 4 stars as no pepsi max and they kind of forgot we was waiting for our starter...which the taster starter is recommended nice idea possibly my new favourite thing.
K. B.
Lovely food nice and relaxing atmosphere felt very safe all staff are excellent highly recommended
S. F.
All of the meat was fatty and the veg was dried out. Went on a Sunday which is more expensive. Was not value for money. The staff were friendly though.
L. M.
Very busy good sign. Food was delicious. Booking definitely recommended on Sunday , but can eat in bar area.
R. H.
Lovely food, hot and large portions. Staff happy but stretched at times.
Taken to table bang on time and short wait for carvery. Brilliant visit.
t. f.
Vegan aubergine stack was a small bowl of mush! The rest of the roast was great though, just don't expect much if you're vegan :P
L. C.
1st time we have been back in nearly 2 years as it was really bad back then BUT this time it was much better fresh and hot beef was chewy we are trying it again this week though
J. H.
Took my date to this place. Food fantastic, service spot on. Lost my debit and license cards here. Was returned to me, so customer service was perfect.
P. M.
Fantastic service, food good as always with Toby Carvery.
M. M.
Food is amazing, kid friendly and spacious it needs updating thats all. Get your painting skills out toby carvery 😉
H. N.
Disappointed in attitude of staff serving carvery...pretty much all the meat had come to the end & the beef especially was very fatty but when we asked if he was bringing out a new one he said not until that one had gone .Thinking back we should have asked to speak to a manager as other people were asking the same.
M. S. A. T.
The service was great, very friendly staff. The food was perfect and very much enjoyed.
W.

Always a fan of Toby Carvery but gave up on the Poole one because of terrible service in the last year. The Bristol one is far better. Good food, nice atmosphere and family friendly
