Reviews of Gelatorino
F. A.
Icecream was watery and less solid than usual. But the tiramisu was very good. Salted caramel was okay. The large one takes up to 4 flavours. The medium takes up to 2 but the cone circumference is tiny and staff were struggling to put 2 flavours and itbwas messy when people where trying to hold it or eat it. The cone biscuit didn't taste good anyway, very full of sugar.
G.
I’ve tried this place for the first time. And also for the first time in my life I’ve tried the sugar and lemon crepes..which is dusted sugar and lemon juice. But the sweet combination with the sournesses of the lemon made it work for me today. I’ll normally eat crepes with strawberry jam, but I do like to try new things.
J.
Stop the press! This is the best ice cream i have ever tasted. Addicted to the new york cheesecake flavour, oh my goodness im dreaming of it right now (homer simpson drool) . In heart of Covent Gardens, v easy to get to, staff are great, the quality is even better, anytime im in central, this is first spot i visit!
D. P.
Looooooved it! Excellent flavours, very light, yet delicious! The interior is fun to be in and inspirational.
The only reason I am not putting 5 stars is the service as the sales assistant wouldn't explain to us what they had after we asked for two things that we were then informed were not available. Would just wait for us to guess..
Still, keeping the good part of the experience with me!
G. O.
Genuine gelato shop.
The range of ice creams and sorbets is excellent and in some cases the flavours are quite unusual (and it's great fun to mix the flavours).
It's a little expensive but worth it for the occasional treat. Beautiful decoration, friendly staff and a very clean atmosphere.
T. Y.
This place does amazing Gelatos. Tried Stracciatella, Zabaione (an Italian custard-y, eggnogg type icecream) & Amarena (cherry), Amaretto (almond liquer). All dee-lish. Especially the Amaretoo. £8 for 2x double scoops. RECOMMEND.
S. K.
It looks fantastic. That’s because it is, but the service was dull. I felt like when asking for the latte it was a huge chore for the barista. Also, look buddy this isn’t your family come to work day... please meet them after you’ve done your shift.
Overall, great image but management may need to access the staff to see if they can offer a little more valuable experience.
A. Z.
The best pistachio ice cream! Dark chocolate was delicious too.
A. R.
made a pit stop here on a whim… best decision of my life! the hazelnut gelato was amazing, it was so tasty and exactly what i needed after a long day!
S. R.
Had the best ice cream, went for a small scoop and it was very filling. Definitely recommend.
M. M.
Amazing gelato - some of the best in town. Usually has a fair queue, but worth the wait!
The ice cream is soft, so will drop quite quickly - be prepared! Alternatively, they also sell in tubs as well as cones.
Staff are very helpful, and each flavour has pictograms showing allergen information which is really helpful.
P. C.
Absolutely lovely staff and a really good selection of gelato. I got a scoop of amarena (cherry) and a scoop of tiramisu; both were delightfully creamy :)
0.
Best tiramusu gelato i have ever had staff were lovely. A great little find. Very happy
T. P.
Excellent pistachio! Great vanilla. Keep it simple - these people don’t put pineapple on their pizza, just great flavour. No “sprinkles” required!
雷.
Ice creams are good-especially pistachio. But they are quite expensive-3.5 for small and 4.5 for regular one. And u don't get a seat if u only order a cone.
s.
To quote my son - “the best Ice cream I’ve ever had”. It was Peanut Butter and it was really good. I can also recommend the coffee. Very friendly service and some outside seating aswell. We will visit again.
A. R.
My son had double icecream of scraciatella and peanut butter and lived it. I had a shake made with 2 big scoops of icecream and coffee. You can choose any icecream for the shakes, lovely on a nice warm day. And to be honest, it was quite reasonable for the location in Covent Gardens
L. C.
Went this on a hot, hot day and the gelato was so satisfying and cooling and delicious. Also got some to go to take to coworkers and they were so accommodating and helpful to give us extra cups so the gelato wouldn't melt on our hands. Generous, yummy and welcoming.
M. B. G.
We went there looking for a place to order coffee & charge phone. We were happy with the service.
M. J.
Very tasty gelato, not too sweet!
Friendly staff, well decoration and quick service!
T. J.
Being several scoops above the mediocre, Gelatorino is a member of London’s elite. If you’re a gelato aficionado, you’ll want to be seen here.
K. E.
Authentic Italian gelato - one of the best gelaterias in London methinks!!! Try their chocolate biscuit too - it is to die for!!!
l. p.
Really nice ice cream, prices are okay for central London @ £4.90 for 3 scoops
E. S.
Small Gelateria in Covent Garden. Little choice, but classic and creamy Italian ice-cream flavors. Loved pistachio! Friendly staff
y. L.
I liked their Pistachio but to be honest, other flavours were a little blunt...liked their opening our as I love to have gelato in the early morning
D. U.
Probably the best gelato i've tasted outside of italy! Generous scoop of ice cream, made all in-house. Not too sweet but plenty of flavour! Would definately have again on a hot day 👍🏾
T. X.
Best pistachio ice cream I've eaten in years! Great flavors to choose from and big portions
H. Z.
The gelato here is so good! Scoops are huge and you can happily share. Also had a chocolate crepe one time, which was delicious. Staff are very friendly and efficient. It does get really busy and they don't always have time to keep the seated area/toilet as clean as would be nice. Maybe need to hire extra staff considering amount of customers?
A. C. C.
Excellent Italian ice-cream. I loved the chocolate and pistachio flavours.
S. L.
Great coffee and although I didn't have their ice cream, I saw them making it and their are some great flavours on offer.
L. M. W.
One of our locations we visit on the London Gelato Tasting Tour.
S. L.
This place is great for luxury ice cream. The scoop size is generous so if you get a small, it's a pretty big small scoop. I recommend Breakfast in Turin- their famous coffee and choc chip gelato
A. P.
Got an awesome batch of food via the Too Good To Go app. Very tasty food, brilliant service from the staff.
D.
Delicious ice cream, great choice of flavours.
M.
The Nutella crepe was quite nice. Tea was good too. I didn't have the ice cream (it was a cold day) but I heard it's supposed to be one of the best as I later read. The make their ice cream themselves. It's apparently all natural methods, etc. It was small but cozy atmosphere. Good lighting. They had outdoor seating as well. They seemed to have nougats, etc made by them for sale
W. K.
Smooth, fresh and full of flavour! Highly recommend pistachio and gianduja. Service can be a little chaotic.
M. G.
Bjt pricey but handy when your waiting for drury theatre
M. D.
I have been to Gelatorino and both times experienced good, engaging service... but THE reason to go there is the luscious, creamy, flavoursome outstanding ice cream they serve. I tried a number of them and they were all good. The crown goes to their pistachio ice cream. Being a pistachio ice cream fan I can say that this is the best pistachio ice cream I have tasted, surpassing the ones served at the highest recommended gelaterias in Rome and Florence. It is Mmmmmm.
A. H.
Love the pistachio gelato here
J. A.
Do not go there UNLESS you are in love with Ice-cream. Yum Yum Yummmmmy
M. F.
My wife and I went to this Gelatorino and there was a small line just at the door. When we entered we smelled the wonderful smell of crepes. I opted for a scoop of the mango and passion fruit. My wife had a cone with coconut, nougat, and sweet cream. It was well worth the wait. It was delicious! I probably would have got another helping, but the line now had about 15 people waiting for service.
C. R.
The best pistachio ice cream I've had! A bit expensive, but definitely worth it. Would definitely go there again... I'll have to force myself to try new flavours, though, as I'm sure the pistachio will be calling my name....
C. G.
Superb ice-cream and coffee.
C. C.
A really nice surprise. Not a fan of Gelato in London due to the low average quality of the products, this place surprised me with the great quality and the artisanal production of each flavor. Try Zabaione and Hazelnut to have a real taste of Italian Gelato!
L. N.
3 stars because I remember how much I used to love this place. But if today was the first time, I wouldn't have been so nice. They used to offer a seat, they don't anymore if you don't order a kind of cup in glass. We were just two we ordered more than the price of the glass but we had to go because it wasn't the thing that you have to order to get a seat. I think the person at the till was rude and not welcoming at all. I felt it was kind of take your thing and leave... We went to this shop through covent garden, we ignored two other places of gelato just because of good memories there and were truly disappointed to no be able to seat 10 minutes. The gelato used to be more tasty, now it more of a sugar cold thing. We took coconut (be aware that there's some bits of coconut) it did not taste like coconut even with the pieces of coconut inside, we didn't like it. Pistachio and Almond were fine, and the best was hazelnut. I think it does worth it anymore, it was probably the last time there. From an unforgettable place it became somewhat forgettable.
Z. P.
On a hot day, I stopped in here for a meeting... and was utterly charmed by the people running it. They make all their gelato and sorbets themselves so they're fresh every day. The pistachio ice cream was immensely good, and the lemon sorbet was perfectly tangy. After leaving, I made a carriage full of people jealous by finishing my sorbet on the tube!
L. G.
Their ice cream never fails to please. Peanut butter is my new favourite.
T. Y.
Being a gelato connoisseur (in layman terms, an ice cream addict) and having tried numerous gelato places in London (Gelupo, Udderlicious, La Gelateria, 3B Gelateria, etc), I may have higher expectations than the usual customer. The gelato here isn't bad (smooth and good consistency) and there is a decent variety of flavors. However, I wasn't wow-ed like I had been at other places as the flavors seemed somewhat boring/typical, the scoop size is a bit less than other places (and the price starts at £3.50), and there was some issue with communication with the servers (not that they were rude or anything, definitely friendly!). Not saying you should actively avoid this place, but if you can only choose one ice cream shop, I'd say walk on a bit further and you'll find some better options.
H. H.
Super super good ! Pistachio especially was amazing, hazelnut was tasty too. But I have to say this is very expensive, especially for the tiny portions (3.5£ for the smallest cone!). Nice for the occasional treat though
L. S. M.
Considering that this places styles itself as an artisan ice cream shop, and that it's right next to Covent Garden, it's actually not as expensive as you'd expect, and the scoops are generous. Plus, you get to watch them make pots of ice cream right in front of you which is the most fascinating, delicious thing ever.
R. S.
Amazing ice cream but often I come here just for the hot chocolate. I think they one a prize for it at some point. The pistachio ice cream is amazing and all their ice cream is freshly made on premises.
E. R.
Amazing Italian ice cream in Soho. They have just a few flavours, but they are all perfect. Each one of their flavour is sourced with high quality Italian products (Sicilian Lemons, Piemonte Hazelnuts and so on). They have lovely niche Italian products as Pastiglie Leone as well.
D. B.
This is a decent gelateria: while it still doesn't compare with the good ones in Italy it is a reasonable approximation of the real thing. Quality of the gelatos is a bit average but at least their products don't taste of bitter starches as most of the other popular gelaterias in London do.
S. D.
Great staff, love the espresso and the ice cream. Crepes are good too. Very few seats (2 tables inside..). You can also find some Italian delicatessen and wines.
G. S.
This has been one of the happiest discoveries of the running year. I went in because usually torino in the names means a great hazelnut, which I love! And I wasn't disappointed. The flavours are great. They have a loyalty card, which is always appreciated. They have also various biscuits and similar for Torino area and surroundings! But the cherry on top which made me love this place was the possibility of put gianduja on top of the ice cream. Gosh, it's outstanding. I recommend this for ice cream lovers!
S. G.
Velvety smooth creamy ice cream. You can other more than one flavour with the various size options. The menu has a decent selection of Italian classics
B. A.
Geltorino has smiling and hard working staff. Gelato is freshly made and available in many natural flavours, which is more subtle than mass-produced ice cream. Nothing replaces the reality of the flavour in my opinion. They also have sorbet and granita (frozen Sicilian dessert - a rare find in London) and a few other odd finds, like biscuits and hazelnut spreads from Turin. For some interesting flavours try pistachio, liquorice, blood orange, stracciatella, or panettone.
The seating is a little cramped but if you find a spot outside, enjoy the passing crowds. £5 for 4 scoops of gelato, the size of a very full cup. Worth the price!
c.
Very good gelato but the new price of £3.90 for a small cup is far too much.
Such a shame they've put up prices.
S. W.
Fantastic ice cream shop. Great ice cream made on site. Try before you buy. We also had savoury and sweet crepes which were also delicious. Superb service.
S. D.
Excellent Italian ice cream and sorbet, and excellent Italian service.
A. D.
Gelatorino offer authentic Italian gelato which is made fresh on the premises on a daily basis. Apart from the fact that you're allowed to try the flavours before making your selection, the shop goes to a lot of trouble to make gelato that stays true to their Tuscan roots, using Bronte pistachios in their pistachio ice-cream, and even baking their own biscuits for their Baci flavour (kind of like a cookies and cream).
I have yet to try their luscious looking milkshakes, but given that they offer excellent coffee and freshly made Italian pastries prepared in house , this is definitely not just a must visit place for the summer months.
N. B. (.
Gelato place near Covent garden with a good mix of flavours and secret hidden sections of gelato below the first layer of gelato (see pictures)!
They have large devices on show to see how they make their gelato and they have a variety of different cup, scoop, sticks , biscuits etc to choose from.
💡namobytes💡
Like Amorino, you pay before you eat, so you can pick your flavours after paying. BUT. Note that if you choose to take a takeaway cup, you must TAKE IT AWAY! (Or so their sign says at the payment till)
G. X. L.
Amazing gelato. I highly recommend the pistachio one. The flavour is so pure and subtle. Not too sweet. The waffle cookie is amazing too.
S. S.
Very nice Gelato and crepes. The location is just outside the square so it is a bit calmer, away from the noise and rush. The staff were a little bit impatient in terms of dealing with customers, perhaps being overworked.
M. P.
Great ice cream near Covent Garden!
S. S.
One of the best gelatos in London and very good value for money!!
r. b.
Alert! The most delicious ice cream i ever had. My favorite flavours: hazelnut and salted caramel - tasty and creamy.
E. S. E. (.
Delicious Gelato in Covent Garden. Ignore Godiva and all the others... head straight to Gelatorino, they know what they're doing!
Seasonal flavours exist, so keep an eye out for those fruit flavours!
My personal favourites are Pistachio and Gianduja. I have a thing for nuts...
F. C.
One of the best Gelato shops in London. The flavours are very tasty and the staff are polite and friendly.
B. B.
Best ice cream and crepes in London
I. Y. H.
Close to the heart of covent garden, on 2 Russell Street, is Gelatorino - the cutest little space with arguably some of the best gelato ice-cream outside Italy. After much deliberation, I finally settled on Bonet (Traditional Pudding from Piedment) and Panettone (traditional Christmas Gelato al Panettone, the flavour essentially stems from an Italian christmas bread). They were all so incredibly good though that deciding on two was really quite the struggle. I haven't been back since Christmas, thinking I ought to try other places but none of the rest have quite matched up so far!
S.
This is OK. Not the best gelato in town.
G. S.
One of my favourite places for Italian coffee. Friendly staff but can get busy when it's hot, with tourists queueing for their - admittedly very good - gelato.
J. D.
Ridiculously delicious gelato. Was recommended by my Italian friend and it didn't disappoint. Anytime I'm nearby I have to pop in for a scoop or two.
H. F.
Stunningly good gelato 🍧
M. A. A.
One of the best gelato shops I have ever tried, the pistachio flavor is second to non, the Marron glace is breathtaking and the passion fruite is delicious
R. M.
i always visit the place whenever im in covent garden. delicious gelato! £3.50 is worth it for 1 scoop and i always get more than a scoop😊
S. B.
Really yum ice cream.... Highly recommend trying their ice creams ... My favorites we're hazelnut and almond flavors.
V. U.
The ice cream is soft, so will drop quite quickly so be prepared. Alternatively, they also sell in tubs as well as cones.
H. C.
Best ice-cream in London. Perfect place to come with a good friend. Try the bacio (you're welcome) 🍨
M. H.
I went here on a summer Saturday afternoon. No line. I ordered pear sorbet and coconut gelato. It was tasty but not mind-blowing.
A. N.

O. E.
Excellent gelato, and it comes in some flavors that you don't get to taste often enough, like their delicious fig.
D. “. M.
Nice ice cream and friendly service but very small selection of flavours and limited seating inside
D. M.
Without doubt, the best Gelato I've ever had in the UK. Great prices, especially considering the location!

The reason to go there is the luscious, creamy, flavorsome outstanding ice cream they serve.
