We popped here for an ice cream for the littleun, and sat and ate it on the grass of Victory Park over the way. Ice cream was delicious, and they do pile it on - little eyes were popping out seeing the amount they could fit on a small cone. Queues were pretty long when we went on a Saturday, but staff we friendly - worth the wait

A wonderful little shop in East Village. I visited twice for coffee ☕️ and my experience was great. Very lovely staff, amazing coffees and a great selection of ice cream and pastries! Although I haven’t yet tried the ice cream, it certainly looks yummy! I can’t recommend enough, and I’ll definitely be back!

On a rainy summer Sunday morning not to long ago, I was out walking the dog at about 9am and went straight past La Gelatiera and they were open... so I treated myself to a pistachio ice-cream. It was amazing! Would massively recommend this place.

Good ice cream, good quality. The dairy free are pretty good. Took the small cap with two flavours, Pistachio and Chocolate, both were pretty good. Service was very slow, and ice cream is pricey. There are plenty of seats around to chill and enjoy . Enjoy :)

The Italian hot chocolate was the rich melted actual bar stuff and the menu offered an even wider range of chocolate...the ice creams looked beautiful as well (may return for IPA and limoncello flavour?!) but we fatally went for the crepes today. Not entirely sure how they could possibly fail, especially as I saw one made fresh, but somewhere between over cooked, microwaved for fun or just a bad recipe as it was dense and tough despite being relatively thin. A hard thing to mess up, but they did. Go for the hot chocolate but skip the crepes. Premises looked hygienic and service otherwise was absolutely fine on a very empty day.

Amazing service, top quality coffee and incredible gelato.....even in Mid-January. Sicilian pistachio is ridiculous good. And also vegan too, if you have specific dietary requirements. Support your small local businesses who are trying their best to survive through these tough times. And their flat whites give me a reason to leave the flat. I feel so lucky to have this amazing little place on my doorstep. Their gelato is really nice and tastes very natural, with a lot of vegan options to choose from too. The coffee is very good too, the latte is, so far, my favourite latte in London. The staff is nice and friendly. Keep up the amazing work, La Gelatiera!

Agreed the Vegan selection are good. The true Italian pistachio gelato will have pieces of pistachios nut, not smooth. I'll give 4.3 / 5 Vegan Alphonso mango 4.1 / 5 ...but the vegan dark chocolate hit the mark at 4.5 / 5 Got the 3 scoop take-away. £14 a pricey treat., as they say you pay for good quality. Twice I have been now, and both instances i have come away feeling 'ripped off...Enjoy

Best gelato and sorbet ! A place full of imaginative tastes to explore and enjoy.Visit both here and the Covent Garden (New Row) branch regularly. I've tried so many of their flavours and yet to be disappointed. They do change regularly but some prize winning favourites like honey,rosemary and orange zest seem to stay. Ones I've loved are watercress and lime ice cream,pistachio sorbet,raspberry sorbet, alphonso mango sorbet (divine beyond words!).Recently had Dark chocolate with Calabrian chilli sorbet too and loved it. The sorbets are vegan and varied.The dark chocolate is simply amazing! This place gets great reviews because they make great gelato.They're lovely,friendly people and you have to go and try it to find out for yourself. Also very close to Westfield,Stratford International station + DLR and of course the Olympic Park. This is some of the best and most interesting gelato I have tasted. Even the standard flavours are very good. Flavours change around, but when it's on the "persian" is wonderful with its rosewater and pistachio (and not too sweet), the dark chocolate has a welcome bitterness, the basil and chilli is great, and the matcha tea is fascinating.

I recently moved into the area and i was very happy to see authentic gelato made on site, here in Stratford. They have some interesting flavour combinations and the menu changes regularly, which is lovely. The facade and the area around the venue are attractive with lots of well manicured grass and benches where you can enjoy your gelato. That said they could do better in a few areas: I tried many flavours for over a month now and they are all way too sweet - the ‘sour cherry’ was disappointingly not sour at all, for example. I would love to try the samples they sent to Great Taste, because I doubt they would get a star based on the current recipes. I’d be much happier to pay for premium ingredients if the product was more sophisticated. Their specialty coffee is Italian style dark roast only. I have seen the owner/boss being rude/obnoxious various times - whether that was to me, other costumers or staff. I honestly only buy from them because there aren’t other options around here.

This is the best ice cream I have ever tasted. After tasting the vegan pistachio, chocolate and strawberry flavours i am converted ( ice cream only though) !!!! A must try are the brioche freshly made and when still warm they are so light they feel like little clouds. Last but not least the macaroons, melt in your mouth. Thank you all for providing such excellent quality I am lucky to live locally and indulge in these delights on a regular basis.

With covid restrictions, the queue is super long! However, the gelato is absolutely delicious. I had the peanut butter chocolate and wished I bought 3 scoops instead of 1. I recommend, but be ware the queue. Ultimately, worth it* (unless you've got lots of kids with you haha)

The vegan dark chocolate is my absolute favourite and I am often here (even tho its a bit pricey). However what I really appreciated is when this afternoon I had a waffle that did not meet my expectation, it was quickly replaced for a fresh new one with no questions asked(a little bit too sweet) and the server was lovely. Made my grouchy day a lot better.

La Gelatiera has a wonderful and delicious selection of own made ice creams, milkshakes and other sweet treats. The staff were happy and friendly, and you can pay with either card or cash. As it is a small place there is not a great amount of seating, however it is set in a clean and modern area with ample benches and parks to enjoy. I will say that it is a little pricey, but that would not stop me from going back. I highly recommend the passion fruits ice cream.

La Gelatiera East Village has such a variety of different flavours which you can sample. The gelatos are suitable for vegans like me, vegetarian friendly, gluten free. They also have amazing crepes, coffees & different organic gelato deserts. The caramel is a must; simply delicious! The atmosphere is great, staff is very friendly. The best gelato in the city. If you want a gelato with fresh natural ingredients this is your place. Don't bother with gelato anywhere else - this is the place to go! Highly recommended if you are visiting East London👌

This review begins by quoting Homer Simpson "mmmmm, ice cream" and then drool. This fantastic ice cream place is located only a few minutes walk from Westfield Stratford but what a worthwhile walk! Fresh looking and rather many spaces to sit down. And then the ice cream... It took me 5 minutes just choosing flavors as I wanted them all. The dark chocolate was dark, almost black. So much chocolate, ahhhhhhh. Sea Salt caramel was so carefully balanced between caramel and sea salt, ahhhhhh. White chocolate was so good and not too sweet, ahhhhh. The cones, so good, ahhhhh. OK, just go there!!!

Been here twice. The first time (Nov 2021) was absolutely amazing. The flavours are incredible, the portion was generous, we could look at all the flavours before choosing and we ate indoors. I came back today (June 2022) with high hopes and was bitterly disappointed. I ordered the same size as last time - four flavours - but then asked for two scoops of one flavour, so three flavours in total. The price had gone up by 20p, which is to be expected with inflation running so high. What I did not expect was for the portion size to be halved. I was taken aback when given a small cup that was not piled high. I had bought it to share with my child, two scoops each, and quickly realised that there was no way there were four scoops in there. The flavour that we had asked for two scoops of was provided in the same quantity as the other two flavours and it all felt mean. I actually went back to the counter and queried it, and was told that the new policy now is that each flavour is only half a scoop. This was the first I had heard of this. So we had paid £6.20 for four flavours and only received two scoops. The gelato is a quality product and I would have understood if they had put their prices up. But please don't mis-sell to customers. I wanted four scoops and felt disappointed and short-changed. I let my child eat some of my share as the portion really wasn't big enough for two, so I didn't get the treat that I had so eagerly anticipated, and after looking forward to it for so long I felt really deflated. The staff were not helpful and just said that was the policy and there was nothing they could do. But they certainly didn't tell me when selling me the ice cream that it was only two scoops (and how much ice cream do you get if you buy three flavours? 1.5 scoops? Or still 2 scoops but only three flavours? Because we only bought 3 flavours but still paid for 4). Also, the inside of the shop was closed, meaning we couldn't see the ice creams to make our choice (or see how little they were putting in the cup) and had to sit outside. I've still given 3 stars because the quality of the gelato is superb. If honestly priced (which doesn't necessarily mean cheaper - just more transparent about what you will get) this would be the best gelato in London and I would come again and again. But I was so disillusioned with this experience that I'm going to try somewhere else next time. Edit: Thanks to the owner for taking the trouble to reply to my review. I'm not able to reply to them so am editing my review instead. Portion size definitely did decrease very significantly since my last visit - I take photos of amazing food to inspire me/share with others so I took a photo both times and the difference is very visible. I do understand that costs have gone up. So my suggestion is to be more transparent (at point of sale) and consistent about the sizes.
