Reviews of TSUJIRI Chinatown
C. H.
the sundae was amazing!! the matcha flavor is really vibrant which I appreciated. my parents who don't really like sweets even enjoyed this!! the lady at the register was extremely patient as I was figuring out what to order and gave this as a recommendation
n. a.
Authentic taste of matcha ice cream. Been here many times, definitely recommend this place to everyone who loves matcha. The sesame flavour tasted divine too.
S. L.
The taste of the ice cream is excellent, but it is a bit melting when I get it. That means the ice cream is not cool enough and germs grow rapidly. As a result, my friend and I go to the toilet for 3 times an hour later.
And I ordered a Tsujiri Sundae, the taste of the genmai 玄米 is too strong so that I can only get it’s taste. If you like genmai, it will be your choice. But I would prefer to taste all the different food in the sundae.
K. U.
Sensed Japanese green tea in China Town, London. Glanced for red beans in the menu with icecream.. but the shop was really busy so I chose green tea icecream with cornflakes and bubble jelly. It’s fantastic. Will come back 😉
A. K.
Nice little Japanese cafe. It's a little pricy but I tried the medium yuzu float this time which was a combination of an ice blended yuzu drink, 2 mochi, a dollop of red bean paste and matcha ice cream. I wasn't sure about the combination but it tasted great! The yuzu drink is refreshing and the matcha ice cream and red bean go surprisingly well with it.
B. L.
TLDR; the warabi mochi is heavenly and definitely worth a try. The rest of the menu is mostly decent but there are some items like the dangos which should be avoided.
With some many Asian desert cafes along this street, Tsujiri somehow manages to set itself apart with some very unique and delicious Japanese deserts.
The staples like matcha ice cream were well done but what really makes the menu special are the warabi mochis.
These are freshly made and are heavenly. The texture is much lighter and less chewy than rice based mochi. It makes for the perfect bite when coated in soya bean powder.
Not everything on the menu was perfect though. The dango was too wet which made it difficult for the red bean paste to cling on which resulted in a very bland experience.
L. R.
Amazing matcha-themed ice cream and dessert shop, with a wide selection of bubble teas, ice creams, sundaes, as well as cheesecakes and mochi treats! This is an official outlet of the Japan-based chain, so it's a very authentic experience. Well decorated with history of the brand and traditional Japanese tea utensils 🍵 with a lovely small upstairs seating area. Perfect place to enjoy a matcha drink or dessert away from the hustle and bustle of Chinatown!

More Matcha please! We went thrice in the span of two days to justify trying as much matcha as we could at Tsujiri.
Loved the Sundays and the bobas, authentic and well made, as proven by that good matcha kick we got each time. Highly recommend!
r. a.
It was hot today. If you are adventurous, this is one good treat for you. Have you ever tried or heard of Matcha? It is Japanese green tea added into savoury and sweet recipes.
I recommend you have the matcha softserve.
I had the shiratama sundae. In a cup it had greentea icecream with red bean which is a good/common combo in japan then topped with more greentea and some mochi balls.
My friend had the Shiratama sundae -- the same green tea softserve with some crunchy puffs topped with jelly and wafer.
Also in the photos black sesame tart (is a good combo eith matcha) crisp tart and the black sesame filling was amazing - nutty and sweet. Houjicha softserve another alternative to greentea. Its roasted flavors balance out the sweetness with its nutty flavour. Theres so much for you to try 😊
We went to TSUJIRI twice today. They have dine in options. If you are not a softserve kinda type of human, have the iced matcha latte instead. Also a great way to cool off in this warm and lovely weather 😊
L. Q.
Friendly staff who served us just before it’s closed and gave us a free latte too. Enjoyed the new menu of sesame matcha sundae, the wafer shape is cool though it’s more for the decoration, cone would taste better
C.
good matcha ice cream (although I think that the matcha is not strong enough) and the cashier was fine too, but I think that the price is a little bit too excessive for the quantity !
I took the Shiratama Sundae - 6,30£
R. E.
Thank god this cult Japanese matcha house is in town!
Absolutely love everything they do and would order everything from the menu if I could.
I stopped for a matcha latte and a matcha sundae. Amazing. They have some of the best quality matcha out of large chain brands.
I also love the interior inside their cafes as its minimal and serene.
The go-to place for any matcha enthusiast!
H. H.
My favorite matcha green tea bubble tea! and very good cheese cake
R. S.
Must try spot for matcha lovers! The soft serve ice cream was really good, and they have a variety of drinks as well.
O. L.
Lovely matcha soft serve ice cream and mochi. In will definitely try their cheese cake and other cakes next time.
S. A.
Not a big matcha fan, but wanted to give it a try. We had the float Iced drink and it was nicely decorated. The workers are nice and helpful. It is a small shop but the door stayed open so there was good air flow. I think the prices are alright for the area and the space had enough seats to sit down.
O. L.
One of the best matcha spots I've ever been to. The Bubble Sundae I ordered was soft, creamy and rich in quality. The boba was a good chewy consistency, unlike other bobas I've tried. I think their desserts are great for those who want something thats slightly sweet, but not too sugary. 10/10!
P. A.
I ordered a medium sesame ice cream and received a matcha ice cream to begin with, but they corrected themselves and gave me a sesame ice cream too. So I'm very happy with 2 ice creams and they both tasted great. Very friendly staff, very short wait times. Fantastic experience, highly recommended if you are in Chinatown and looking for a sweet treat.
A. H.
Overall was good but a little bit too sweet in my opinion.
Tried the new black sesame seeds ice cream, not bad, but really too sweet for ice cream.
M. C.
Great choice of Japanese desserts if you are looking for good green tea ice cream or dessert this is the place to go for sure !
C.
The best Matcha ice cream in London.
The price is a bit expensive and the portion is a bit small but the ice cream quality is extremely high! The best.
They now have black sesame ice cream and also great taste!
I ordered Matcha sundae followed by black sesame latte.
g.
As a tea lover with have a black tea culture, macha tea is not my cup of tea. It looks and taste like spinach tea. Sorry.
k. l.
Can’t go wrong with this place, I always come here! They have the best matcha ice cream and matcha bubble tea in my opinion! I’m yet to try the black sesame flavour, i’ll get it next time!
O. J.
Seems very authentic. Nice guy who served us. Very pleased with my sundae.
The warm mochi balls are probably not everyone’s taste, but they were nice, although an unusual flavour and texture. Better than the cold mochi balls in the sundae in my opinion.
Y.
One of my favorite matcha shops from Kyoto, a bit expensive here but I love it 😋
Y. M.
Good but pricey ice cream. Hadn’t had matcha for a while and it was pretty good here though half way through I did chew through a bit of ice within the ice cream hence the 4 stars instead of 5
J. K.
Great please to have matcha product in London, love the matcha latte, you sit and take a rest on the upper floor
N. L.
I was so excited to visit this place as they had a great selection of vegan desserts but was disappointed with the vegan matcha soft serve. I couldn’t taste the matcha and would have liked a bit more sweetness. Even the cone had more flavour.
A. A.
Great service and delicious desserts. Shout out to the well mannered Malaysian cashier too. Friendly service 😉
S. C.
It would be a lie to say that I haven't thought of travelling to London from abroad specifically to get the matcha and red bean sundae from here. The high quality of the tea in the soft serve is not at all bitter like other matcha ice cream i have tried, and it comes with a healthy portion of chewy mochi. Sure, it's a little expensive, but you can't come to chinatown without trying it.
陳.
love matcha and red bean !! the mochi was also super yummy :)
only complaint is that the matcha soft serve melts kinda quick so it was a bit soupy at the end,, still tasty though!
A. S.
Highly recommended this Matcha House!
Matcha and Hojicha softserve were so good.
You can also collect points (stamps) with every purchases on the app called "Embargo"
M. R.
This place is a treat! I was walking through chinatown looking for snacks and had already enjoyed several sweet and savory buns when Tsujiri caught my eye. The style is a slick, modern, Japanese ice cream shop, with excellent flavors such as matcha and black sesame.
Gone are the days when just finding matcha ice cream would've been exciting, as it's actually quite common now (happily!) but Tsujiri sets itself apart with its use of other traditionally asian dessert ingredients such as red bean and mochi. I had their black sesame shiratama sundae, and it did not disappoint. The mix of soft and chewy, sweet and cold, was perfect and I left a very happy customer! Would go back readily.
A. T.
I ordered a Yuzu o-matcha which unfortunately did not taste good this time. It was lacking in Yuzu, you couldnt really taste it. The matcha tasted different, not sure if it was the ceremonial grade one. There was also a few clumps in the matcha. I’ve had this drink at the other branch in Chinatown which has been excellent. Hope this was a one off as all the drinks/desserts I’ve had from the other London branch has been really good.
Y. C.
Had to wait a little but it's absolutely worth it. Love the ice cream!!! Will definitely come visit again soon!
J. S.
As long as you enjoy matcha, you'll love their stuff. The matcha latte is great, not too sweet (also very customisable, milk/sugar preferences). Their sundaes are delicious and beautiful aswell. They also offer milk alternatives so lactose intolerant people can enjoy like myself. The staff are lovely here aswell and decor is super pretty for pictures.
G. C.
Real taste of matcha. Different option for matcha lover !
T. M.
Very nice ice cream but it is quite gross upstairs. Very cramped space, used masks, leftovers and rubbish on the table and no one cared to come and clean them. This is not even about covid but but more of a general hygiene standard that is not met
D. C.
Just discovered this place on rupert street and pretty chuffed. This is the first place that I have found that does yummy japanese matcha desserts! Absolutely scrumptious. I like the use of the space, natcha teas for sale as well as crockery like the whisk, bowl, scoop and they offer workshops. If you are matcha obsessed and want a taste of Japan.. this is the spot!
L. S.
Always been a customer of tsujiri since it first arrived in London, I had the Sakura Matcha Latte in cold although it was nice I prefer my usual Matcha Latte. It would be nice if they had Matcha frappe though.
E. C.
Absolutely my favourite place in all of soho !! So many options of delicious japanese matcha desserts not to mention almost everything is vegan ! The matcha soft serve is just so good and everything is top quality. Not only do they do such a wide variety of desserts but they also do many drinks like boba and lattes. You have to visit this place if you like anything matcha, dango, Redbean or japanese in any sense.
F. G.
On a hot afternoon, this is a great place to stay and chill. I didn’t rank high to this one based on today’s experience. The ice cream pretty much melted quickly by the time I sat down, there wasn’t air conditioned in the upside space, stuffy environment. Overall, though it tasted alright but didn’t enjoy the experience in the shop at all.
M. T.
Tsujiri is a little on the expensive side but well worth it. I love the matcha ice cream and the matcha basque cheesecake was delicious too. I will definitely be back
R. H.
I love Matcha flavoured food. And this definitely satisfy my matcha ice cream cravings
Edit: forever my favourite place for matcha food!
K. T.
My favourite Matcha ice cream shop. Authentic green tea taste.
S. J. (.
Really nice and yum matcha cafe! Which really hard to find one in London. The scent is so great and relaxing, and all the toppings are just suit the ice cream so well. And matcha cheesecake taste best I must say.
A. Y.
For someone who only knows matcha and just wanted some vegan ice cream, this was a great experience! What ever that Tsujiri Sundae was, it has fluffy things and cross things inside and red bean stuff on the buttom (?) crazy, but crazy good. Would come here often, i really enjoyed the taste, it was fresh and not too sweet. The taste of matcha in the ice scream was intense, tasted like good and quality matcha.
For a shake, from all the weird choices like red bean, houjicha (roasted matcha) and Yuzu (some kind of orange-lemon) i picked Yuzu and loved it too. Very refreshing and great alternative to the regular lemonades.
Recommend!
Z. B.
Best matcha ice cream in town. Even better on top of yuzu float.
Y. I. Y.
My friends phone was stolen in the store when we walked up the stairs. There clearly have been quite a number of theft in the shop as they have a sign of beware of thieves. It was a very frustrating experience but the staff members were very helpful. They even agreed to share their personal hotspot so that we could log into iCloud to disable Apple Pay. Please be careful of anyone who tried to rush up the stairs saying they need the bathroom. Ladies, don’t leave your phones just in your coat pockets as they are really easy to pick from your pockets.
R. A.
The loveliest ladies work there! We showed them s as picture of the drink we wanted and asked if they could make it for us. We both wanted a slightly different version and they were nice enough to make them! Honestly, they were too sweet and even cared that my video of the drink being prepared turned out nice. 💜 I got the matcha cheese tea with Sakura. I wish it was slightly sweeter but that’s my only quip. I would also get it with no ice next time.
J. P.
Fancy having Matcha? This is the best place to have flavourful matcha desserts and lattes. It will definitely satisfy your cravings for matcha. Will definitely come back for more...
L. C.
This is the best matcha latte / matcha ice cream shop that I know of in London aside from Travel Cafe in Waterloo. Just a shame the environment isn't a bit nicer, and be aware they refuse to offer tap water to customers.
M. A.
Top notch matcha dessert’s💚
O. C.
Really great matcha soft serve ice cream. They have other desserts too which also look really good.
F. K.
Great matcha sundae. Now doing 50% off with eat out to help out. Excellent value
R. K.
It is a Japanese matcha restaurant originally. There are two branches in London and this is the one of them in China town. Everything is so nice. Matcha fans must visit.
P. K. L.
Punchy and flavoursome matcha ice cream. The matcha ice cream tasted premium and the boba was delicious and had a great caramel flavour to it. Everything was perfectly presented in a nice cup. Wished they used something unique and homemade like a crumble for the middle part rather than something that tastes exactly like Crunchy Nut. Price-wise it may look small but it packs a powerful matcha flavour.
Only negative is that the shop needs to be well aerated especially during the warmer months, we couldn’t stay in for the dessert because of how warm it felt and there was no air conditioning on or any fresh air coming in.
T. A.
Really good iced matcha latte, not too sweet or bitter - perfect balance 👌🏽
D. H.
I like their quality of matcha! They don’t fill the whole thing with ice which is a plus, the prices are slightly high though but ok for the neighbourhood!
I. Y.
If you love anything Matcha, and you have not visited this place yet, what are you waiting for. Visit NOW. Tried the Wa Sundae and it is really awesome. So many different flavours and it works nicely. Also tried the float.
Don't forget to get a loyalty card. Haha!
S. D.
Best Japanese matcha place in London. Hands down. I love it here!!
A. 8.
For lover of matcha! Great selection of matcha desserts! Loved the soft serve matcha ice cream 😊
L. T.
Lovely staff and atmosphere, very christmasy feels! Also got the santa sundae - was delicious minus the ginger biscuits! Seating was layout pretty well and rather peaceful and quiet which I liked!
J. L.
Love the matcha sundae, i went with the ‘ matcha’ flavour, which is strong enough. They also do ’strong matcha’, wonder how strong that would be. Went using eat out to help out deal. Make sure you get the Tsujiri app, register and collect points before you pay.
J. P.
Quality matcha green tea ice cream. Nice mochi too. A little expensive but these Japanese places always tend to be...
D. K.
Love this new Japanese dessert place! I had the extra matcha sundae — love the rice ball and cereal but not so much of the snack chestnut!! Would order the all rice ball sundae when I return.
J.
Great balance between strong tea flavours and sweetness to offset. Service is fast and with a smile too.
The only downside is the price, £6 for a sundae is on the high side. With that said, this has been the best matcha I've had in the UK to date
s. q.
This matcha float has singlehandedly converted me from a hater to a fan! Paired with red bean is a perfect combination! 5*
J. G.
Really good matcha ice cream. A must go. Although quite pricey
K. B.
Matcha basque cheesecake’s pricey but soooo goood!!!🤤 I enjoyed every bite!💚
B.
First time to try Matcha dessert in London. It was good. Not pretend to be Matcha! But not as good as try in Asia.
Shop was pretty small so better to take away.
L. L.
Delicious matcha ice cream. Full of strong matcha flavour. It is on the pricey side, but good quality. The shaved ice is a bit chunky. It has a variety of other desserts and drinks.
The cafe is quite tiny so very limited seating. It can get very crowded when busy.
M. H.
Very nice dessert place:) maybe lack of choice in terms of cakes because it’s so popular and by the time I got there, most of the cakes were sold out! But managed to get a very yummy yuzu cheesecake that was not too sweet but perfect!
h.
Amazing Matcha dessert! Defiantly a MUST TRY if your wondering around in central London. The store is small but grab a seat by the window if you can and enjoy the view while you enjoy a TASTY treat! Costing £5+ it's definitely a quality treat.
P. G.
Absolutely incredible matcha soft serve ice cream here! It comes it much more interesting forms that your standard matcha I've cream place too, as they have Sundays and a variety of iced drinks too! Friendly, helpful staff, nice atmosphere too.
J.
It is a nice place for a matcha treat. The shop is relatively small but clean and comfy. I would recommend classical cone ice cream and sundae. Because it is a franchised business, the food here tastes good but lacks some character. You might want to check out Tombo Poke and Matcha Bar which is also located in the area.
G. G.
Famous Japanese restaurant serving a wide variety of matcha drinks.
L. L. L.
Good location between soho,Leicester Square & Piccadilly Circus. A bit pricey for the size but nice flavour matcha dessert.
y. 8.
I like the lattes and ice cream that they have here, I really do, but sometimes the staff can be extremely trying. Even during the worst of the pandemic when there weren’t many tourists their service was slow and they have always been unfriendly and sloppy (i.e. not wanting to explain what certain things on the menu are, never putting the lids on lattes correctly, not caring if they spill).
I would come here more often if not for that because they serve unique flavors that you can’t really get anywhere else and the menu gets frequent updates but the customer service is just abysmal.
M. S.
The matcha softserve is really good here, strong match flavour! The houjicha flavour (bottom in the picture) was nice as well and they let us mix the two flavours in one sundae. Slightly pricey for what it is, but tasty nevertheless! Serve is a bit slow as well. Their menu has increased significantly since they've opened and now have drink options as well. Highly recommend!
L. K.
Love this
Vegan matcha
Strong matcha
Red bean
Many options
Nice cake
Good redbean - not too sweet
Clean restrooms
E. P.
I had the WA Sunday and my wife had the Kinako and both did not disappoint. The sundae shown here does not do justice as there are asking people, cream and roasted rice at the bottom. Be sure to scoop from the top down to get the combo wombo of flavors in your mouth
G. A. L.
Very nice ice cream, tasty matcha soft serve. I tried the sundae and definitely loved the combination! Matcha ice cream with red bean paste, a piece of cake and cereal. Very good. Perhaps a bit pricey (£5,30 the sundae), but as an ocassional treat is worth it.
M. R.
Iced matcha latte is very well made! Matcha taste is intense and not too milky
M. J.
shiratama sundae is good match icecream with mochi and red been. Matcha ice cream is really good
T.
The best matcha soft serve in London, and some of the best I've had outside of Asia in general. They used to do an extra-strong matcha soft serve option which was my favourite, but unfortunately I don't think it was a popular sell as some people can find matcha a little bitter. I love their warabi mochi sundae, and their cakes are lovely too. I must have completed three loyalty stamp cards from back then they were still going them, and my stamps on their new loyalty app are quickly racking up now!
C. B.
If you love matcha you'll be spoilt for choice! Very tasty and authentic latte. The ice cream also had well balanced matcha flavour
L. S.
Delicious sundae with matcha and hojicha ice cream. Yum (but rather expensive at £5.8)! My only criticism is the rice balls not being cooked properly so part of it was hard and chewy.
S. D.
Personally the only gelato I like is the 1.5 (or 1.8 if I’m not wrong) Matcha one and this is the only Tsujiri store that offers that. The others gelato have very weak matcha taste comparing to my standards of matcha. The price overall is quite expensive and there were not many seats as well.
J. -.
They are currently doing a vegan pop up at their soho location until February 2020 and this was so damn good and sugoi desu! I'm matcha fan
G. B.
Fantastic Matcha Sundaes. Only let down was that the pudding takeaway came with a large Plastic Spoon and a Plastic bag.
L. M.
First time trying this place. Loved their sundae in strong matcha flavor. Will definitely come back again!
I. N.
A good place to take a break after going around the Chinatown vicinity. I chose the combination of strong matcha and sesame and was not disappointed. The strong matcha was not bitter and pleasantly complimentary to the sweet sesame.
T. L.
5 pounds may be a lot to be spending on dessert. But it's also worth every penny. Don't expect to get seating though, usually busy post-dinner time!
A. C.
Love the matcha ice cream, really strong matcha flavoured
s.
Really good tasting matcha!!
S. T.
Really good customer service - they were very polite and thoughtful. The sakura matcha was also really good :))
M. P.
The best MATCHA icecream! and love the mochi they add ontop!!! amazing!!!!
A. H.
New place. Very nice interior design. Food is really tasty. Slightly pricy but the food is really good.
J. H. T.
Fantastic matcha, but unfortunately no lavatory and the place is stuffy and horribly overcrowded. By that I mean HORRIBLY. If not for the quality and variety of the menu, I would give it no more than 2 stars. The management made an exceptionally poor choice of the venue. The stools and chairs (if you're lucky to get one) are so close to each other that you can't walk between them. When sitting by the big table, you have people from the opposite directly in front of your face. Nowhere to put your bag or a jacket in winter. Noisy, uncomfortable and awkward. Best choice is to get their matcha for a takeaway.
O. D.
Such such good matcha honestly so good and nice upstairs seating
J. P.
Good matcha Sunday, with really soft mochi and red bean - it works (don’t eat the bizarre wafer on top though)
C. K.
Very lovely, and clean and peaceful in the morning.
S. N.
When we revisit London, this is the place we will visit again for the matcha ice cream and black sesame ice cream.
S.
This place is great and an absolute must for anyone who likes Matcha!
S. N.
Good place for a quick tasty dessert. Got a shiratama matcha sundae (matcha ice cream, red bean, and mochi) for just over a fiver. The venue is clean and pleasant but could be cosier.
Y. C.
Tried their matcha ice-cream sundae which was absolutely delicious, the subtle sweetness with the bitterness from the tea is wonderful, also tried their seasonal sakura ice-cream which I have to say it’s a interesting flavour, sweet but salty at the same time, personally speaking I prefer their matcha soft serve and 100% must try for matcha lovers!!
C. A.
Tsujiri is definitely one of the best matcha dessert place in London. O-matcha ice blend is my absolute favourite which I never fails to get everytime. The only downside is, Tsujiri is always busy so it can be a very difficult to find a seat
K. L.
Finally found a great matcha dessert place in UK. Price is not that expensive compared to the same shop in other countries. Their mochi is chewy and refresh. Place is a bit small, you may struggle to find a seat at busy time. It is nice to have a matcha dessert or drink and rest a bit in busy London. Must try. 😀
V.
Great selection of ice cream and tea. The staff are friendly and happy to help. The taste of the milk based matcha float is really nice.
G. L.
So glad the hojicha series is back 😭 100% recommend this flavour over the matcha- strong and deep tea flavour. :)
C. S.
I love matcha and this is the place in London to go for matcha variety. Very good prices too. I make sure to visit here on every London trip. Work your way through the menu and you won't regret it.
J. a.
Love the combination and great texture of the matcha ice cream. The red bean paste, mochi, waffles and the rice pop at the bottom was awesome.
I. L.
Best place for matcha sweets and desserts.
M. M. s. R.
Honestly such a lovely place to stop and enjoy matcha. You have to know what you like to seriously enjoy deserts here.
S. J.
One if the oldest matcha house from Kyoto-Osaka, Japan, locating at the heart of the town. You should at least try once to taste the real authenthic Japanese matcha tea. I also recommend hojicha tea (roast tea).
J. A.
Loved their Matcher Milkshake, although I thought it would be milkier but it was quite icy. Perfect for the summer. My friend ordered a cheese Matcha drink which I was not a fan of at all. I'd definitely recommend the milkshake especially if you get the ice cream on top!
E. M.
The desserts are great! They aren't too sweet and have a wonderful aroma. I highly recommend a visit after a nice meal in China Town. I'm definitely going to try all of the other items.
C. T.
Lovely place for dessert. A wide range of different matcha themed desserts from just cones to sundaes and cappuccinos. Quite a quiet atmosphere upstairs not the most cozy sadly but still clean and very chic. Overall quite a good experience!
L. M.
So happy that they're now doing vegan ice cream! The matcha flavour is perfect and not too sweet like a lot of desserts that override the matcha flavour. The sundae with the toasted rice, mochi and red bean was delicious. I always come here every time I come to London!
L. Y.
Small cosy shop which serve Japanese dessert. Ordered the Red Bean Shiratama and Yuzu drink. They tasted pretty alright, probably the lightweight Asia version.
D. P.
This is probably the best soft serve matcha ice creams in London. They have amazingly delicious toppings which match the bitterness of the matcha perfectly. There’s an excellent selection of other matcha based soul fulfilling desserts.
F. B.
Actual matcha heaven!!!!! More vegan options though plzzzzz 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Y. L.
Kuromitsu kinako Latte is my personal recommend. Matcha ice cream is not bad but personally prefer more bitter real matcha taste. The sweetness level for all things severs at Tsujiri London are higher than average compare with Taujiri Japan. Maybe the flavour need to be adjusted on different countries. Also I realised that they raised up the price a bit....
R. M.
I was already a fan of their matcha version. Black sesame is top! In love with the flavour and squishy mochis. 🙌
C. P.
Love their ice cream. It is a little pricey for what it is, but it is a nice treat.

Love the matcha sundae with mochi topping. This little place can get really busy at times. The cafe is small and have limited space so not a place to gather if you are in a big crowd. Not buggy friendly due to limited space. However, these can be easily overlook for a matcha treat. Price is a bit steep - so unfortunately not something I can treat myself to everyday.
H. L.
Love it here! Recently discovered this place and now I go here every time I come out to London. Prices are around £4-7
D. O.
And un-machable experience. I come here a few times a week when in London :).
Macha cream puffs are so yummy <3, I love the macha strong icecreams that are not too sweet, and the hot O-Macha. It's all you need for a macha fix. Location is great too. They have two shops, one is vegan (with hojicha icecream), and this one is non-vegan and offers cream puffs.
C. K.
This is a wonderful little cafe that does a range of different healthy desserts, hot and cold drinks, where most products have matcha as the ingredient. I had the sundae, and it was absolutely delicious. Not too sweet as I am very sugar-conscious, so i am so glad to have discovered a place in London that does healthy deserts for the health-conscious.
N. N.
I’ve come here 5+ times and its amazing every time!
I get matcha bubble tea and its great
Also the vegan soft serve is unbelievable. You cant even tell its dairy free
Y. F.
No doubt the best matcha I’ve ever had in my life! Totally changed my stereotype of matcha😭
A. U.
It's really nice matcha in London. Amazing thing is tasty like before I tasted in Taiwan. However, it's still too sweet for us.
n. e.
This place right here has the best Japanese desserts in London. It’s a place you have to visit at least once. I came here a couple month ago and I still remember the amazing food I had
私. 뎁. 위. 정.
Had the Matcha Sundae and I was not disappointed by it! I loved every bit of it and the cozy place together with really educated staff made everything much better as for a first impression of the place!
J. C.
Cosy place for a warm green tea latte and rice dumplings in Soho. The place small and gets a bit crowded sometimes, but I'll definitely visit again soon.
M. A.
The matcha 🍵 soft serve is a must !
y. n.
Decent matcha dessert selection! Always love their charcoal matcha roll cake, not too sweet !
T. C.
Love the variety in this place from green tea to mochi to soft server and the combination! The black sesame sundae was wonderful packed with mochi and red bean paste in the black sesame soft serve. I can definitely taste the black sesame. Also got the black sesame cream puff to go. It's a bit too much crème for me personally but I know that's what people love. The good news is the crème didn't feel too heavy but have that cup of green tea ready, pair up so well together.
S. Z.
Matcha lovers’ must be place! A variety of matcha drinks, ice cream, traditional Japanese pastries and so on! Be aware that the ice cream starts melting quickly so please speed up eating during the hot weather😂
V. V.
Lovely little cafe serving a variety of matcha and other products. I had the strong matcha chiffon cake sundae which was delicious. Maybe a bit on the pricey side.
S. T. I.
A good hot bubble matcha great tea is good smell and the bubble is great. 👍🏼 Staff are very nice.
D. P.
Great matcha or sesame ice cream based desserts.
P. C.
Great choice of matcha desserts 🍵 Both the sundaes with mochi or cake toppings are yummy!
K. Y.
Staff are helpful and friendly. The decor is welcoming and relaxing. I ordered the crispy sundae and I thought the matcha soft serve was more bitter than other places, which isn’t a bad thing. I kind of wished the sundae included more chestnuts, considering there were only 1-2. There is upstairs seating as well as 4 stools in the front of the shop.
S. L.
Lovely service topped with a smile. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. The food is as good as it looks, worth the price if you are after a treat.
W.
We had the soft serve with cake and azuki which was lovely. The soft serve is really matcha-y and delicious however the cake was a bit dry and tasteless.
Avoid peak times if you want to sit down as there's not much seating and £6 is a little pricey for an ice-cream but having said that I'd go back
R. Q.
Nice shop with a wide variety of choices, mostly all based in Matcha tea, so do not go unless you at least appreciate the flavour.
My husband is not a great fan of Matcha, but their soft serve is something he enjoys, and mostly buys a second serving.
It is definitely worth the visit!
M. G.
Some of the best vegan ice cream I've ever had! Really nice and reassuring as an allergy sufferer for everything on the menu to be vegan (and therefore dairy free!!!) The staff were very friendly. Was a nice chilled out atmosphere. A bit small so would go at a less busy time if you want to sit down inside to eat. I had the Houjicha sundae and it was INCREDIBLE. The shop said it was a pop up but I hope it stays!!!! Really great place to check out would highly recommend to anyone!!! Am definitely coming back and after payday and leaving a tip ^_^ 💖💖💖
K. C.
Strong matcha flavour, very nice.
M. S.
Recommend: get both the matcha (green tea) and the hojicha (roasted green tea) ice cream flavours with the toppings you like. A delicious dessert the hits the spot.
A. I.
I love their icecream and floats! Excellent! I strongly recommend! 👍👍👌
Y. P.
Recent brandnew branch of Tsujiri; modern and clean. Strong matcha icecream is always fab. However shame that this branch doesn’t do houjicha icecream here tho.. come on, that’s the best bit of Tsujiri.....
D. S.
Great choice of matcha ice cream and matcha beverage. Very clean (and tiny) place.
Y. G.
The best matcha latte in Chinatown! Highly recommended! And their puddings are super delicious!
H. R.
The matcha ice cream with mocha balls is amazing. A real family favourite for trips to London.
J. M.
Absolutely sublime. It’s too bad no outdoor seating during Covid, as you have to eat it standing up or walking around before it melts ,but that doesn’t diminish it’s incredible range of nuanced flavour and texture, both of drinks and Matcha laced desserts. It’s a dream to have an all vegan dessert place like this where nothing is cloyingly sweet, and has a very large gluten free offering. The place of dreams for those who love dreamy looking Japanese desserts but cannot eat them due to their dairy, gelatin ,egg or gluten content.
C. S.
The best houjicha soft serve. Would come here everyday if I lived in London!
t. m.
Good drinks. Got the hot back sesame latte. Service was quick.
M. M.
Their ice cream is amazing! They recently did a Sakura cherry blossom flavour and it was fantastic. Their current special flavour is black sesame. You can really taste it.
The cream puff was excellent, and their matcha ice cream is really good.
It can get busy here sometimes, but the short queue is definitely worth the wait!
P. U.
Shop is too small. Matcha late tasted good (made with almond milk), desert average.
I think the staff could be more helpful when customers are enquiring about the menu - I saw a tea and mentioned I wanted it served hot, and instead of pointing me to the hot options, she only explained that that specific tea was served cold cold. Thankfully I saw the hot matcha in another part of the menu just before paying.
H. A.
Amazing!
M. K.
Best matcha ice cream in London. Even compared to the one I had in South Korea, I would say this is better.
A. G.
This place is amaaaaaazing.
A. T.
First real matcha place I’ve ever been to in London. They have all kind of matcha desserts and drinks. You can choose between a waffle cone or cup for the matcha soft serve - small or regular size.
I ordered a hot matcha tea - extra strong. I like the fact that you can choose the strength of your matcha drink.
M. P.
Have been here a couple of times and this is my favourite Japanese dessert place in London so far! Nice niche interior and lovely food! We ordered one sundae and a hot dessert. My partner is allergic to beans and the staff was very friendly and said they can remove the red beans in any of the desserts.very happy experience
K. T.
Great matcha or houjicha flavoured icecream and mochi!
D. M.
4 stars for the place, but the matcha ice is so lovely it's a 5 star overall.
B. A. B.
The macha sundaes are our favourite, the cream puffs are also very good especially the black sesame.
Y. C.
Update 2021:
Matcha Basque cheesecake is a real treat, worth the premium price!!
Good quality matcha dessert, a bit pricey for a small cup of sundae.
S. C.
Food
The matcha and yuzu desserts we had were very flavourful. I had a yuzu ice drink which was sweet and tart. Friend ordered a crunchy sundae with green tea soft serve and red bean. Nice flavour and textures.
Service
The girl taking our order was very friendly and patient while we made our choices.
Ambience
Cost and bright.
Price
Reasonably priced desserts at around 5-6£
Y. L.
My heaven. Hope the lockdown to finish soon so I could visit it again. I’ve been there three time in the past month! Must try there vegan soft serve with small vegan cone! For toppings I recommend red bean and the small glutinous ball ~
O. W.
The matcha flavour and colours are extremely high quality, so if you love all things matcha, you've got the right place! It's a little bit on the expensive side, but definitely worth it for the occasional treat!
C. C.
Lovely little place ✌🏼
A. C.
Amazing matcha ice-cream, and the new sesame ice-cream tasted brilliant! I'd suggest you cash out and try the double strength matcha, as the regular one only hinted the matcha flavour. The price per ice cream is over £4 each for the regular matcha ice-cream, so it would have been nice if it were cheaper. I will come back again though!
S. H.
Brownie and ice cream was wonderful. Didn't like the shake, better to have it without mixing. But wouldn't buy that again.
J. H.
Really good matcha/other tea based desserts. Not too sweet or overpowering. Just the right amount of sweet bitterness
G. S.
Best quality japanese tea in London! I like the atmosphere of their new shop💚🍵
S. S.
Mice match latte and ice cream
A. R.
Really good place for a quick matcha ice cream, they have other things but generally the space is small being in the center of London, there are only a couple of tables. Very clean place. The food is similar to what you would get in Japan in terms of combinations, taste is not quite the same, especially around the stenght of matcha yet I'm not sure how much of that is adjustment to the local taste.
M. S.
Yummy matcha 🍵 nice place for a quick match fix! Limited sitting. Small place.
S. Z.
The mocha ice cream looks nice. Flavour is just ok.
A. C.
Sat inside and had the hōjicha latte and the black sesame dango. While the prices were on the higher cusp of reasonable (it is Central London however!) both the food and drink were delicious. The dango had a sensational sesame flavour, and a wonderfully glutinous texture. The latte was toasty, with a flavour lightly like burnt sugar; not too sweet as well, which is great!
The two members of staff who served me were both incredibly friendly and I felt welcome, despite not having tried most of the stuff on the menu before. It's definitely an approachable place to come in and try these Japanese snacks if you're in the area.
K. H.
Love strong matcha ice cream! I would give them 5 stars but here is the reason:Most of the time they give me that amount of ice cream in the picture( it is the largest cone size here - medium size in the menu as there are small and medium size only) but fews times they gave me less than normal not even full cone on the twisted form part of ice cream... well it is £6.50 and I just want them to serve their products consistently...
S. A.
Tried my first Matcha Sakura latte here and it was really good! The matcha flavor was very evident, and it was sweet at the same time, which is why I loved it...my friend got the Matcha ice creams which was just as good, it had many additions but ai only tasted the ice cream itself. The place is small, but it's okay for me because I took my drink to go, there is a small seating area but I don't think a big group would be able to sit together.
R. L.
I treated my self to the full works with the Shiratama Sundae. The soft serve is smooth, the matcha sweet and red bean a welcome addition. I could only mark a 4... I realised I don't love matcha🌱🍦!!
H. T. C.
Best place to enjoy matcha ice cream in London. It's located at a very convenient place in Soho - the place to be in London. The matcha sundae here is really nice - tastes so good and not really pricey - so we have been eating this every time we visit this store.
They also have loyalty card, so it's really convenient when I invited my friends over here - we always got enough stamps to get a free tea. The only down side is that it's a bit small (like most stores in Soho), and it's quite crowded almost all the time, so sometimes it's hard to find a seat. Overall, definitely recommended!
B. C.
The most delicious matcha green tea ice cream in Chinatown 🍦
R. F.
Good service. Good food. And most importantly you can get a wheelchair in (although snuggly; it is a small shop) unlike most places in the area.
K. C.
I find match ice cream here is a bit on sweeter side compared to other countries.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
D. P.
Very tasty matcha-ice sundae topped with mochi
Y. Y.
Delicious matcha soft serve and very friendly service. They let you try the different flavors before ordering. I don't really understand the appeal of rice balls though - they're just chewy dough balls made of glutinous flour...
S. D.
Great place with sitting area upstairs. Good selection of deserts although no cheesecake when we visited
M. D.
Fantastic and cosy place that serves amazing matcha deserts, hot and cold drinks. Very friendly and helpful staff will make sure you have a great experience. Highly recommend to stop by, 5/5!
J. Z. (.
Cute little dessert shop. Ice-cream was nice but the cheesecake tasted a bit funky...
D. L.
I lived for 2 years in Japan and came here on a Friday night after dinner with high hopes that the soft serve would come close to the true Japanese creamy, rich delight that is so hard to find outside of Japan. Unfortunately it was just mediocre - it's good if you're looking for some matcha ice cream, but don't come here expecting an authentic Japanese ice cream experience.
A. H.
Pricey and delicious in a nutshell.
V. T.
Great matcha desserts. My wife and I make a special trip here in our birthdays.
L. H. E.
Had matcha float, £5.45. The bottom layer is sweetened water with shaved ice, and there were some big chunks of ice. The ice cream was OK, not really different from any other big brand ice cream except with the subtle matcha flavour. The two don't mix well, and I couldn't finish it because it was too sweet. Not recommended if you do not have a sweet tooth like me.
T. N.
Love this little place, I've tried the hojicha ice cream and soft serve both very nice. The place is quite small, you'll be lucky if you can grab a seat. One of the better places to try matcha desserts in London
A. M.
Really authentic, proper matcha ice cream and latte you can ever have in London. I love this place and taking every single friend there. It's usually crowded but I can guarantee what you get is so Japanese!
K. N.
Overpriced for the servings you get, but they have a way of making the soft serve consistently good and filled with Matcha goodness. There isn't any space inside so it's more of a grab and go type of snack. Queues come and go, so give it five minutes or so and come back later if they're a tad bit long.
8.
A little bit pricey but the dessert is quite nice.
The sundae is nice but after eating it for three days, I found the ice cream too sweet. So try the float, it works better. I recommend the Hojicha float. It's different from matcha which is less sweet and fresh.
O. L.
Authentic matcha flavour, just like you had it in Japan. Good quality. Unlike matcha drink from Starbucks or other cafes.
M. D.
If you are lucky enough to get a seat you can order a beautifully decorated bowl of green tea latte. The flavour is quite subtle and sweet but very warming. The prices are quite expensive but worth it if you sit in to get that bowl of art. The space is a very tight squeeze and you will be bumping into a lot of people but it's a novelty that is worth doing once.
M. K.
Sweet but not too sweet. Love matcha and black sesame ice cream here. I wish the rice cakes were a bit bigger for the price you pay
P. T.
Delicious matcha soft serve, lattes and other sweet treats including dango (sticky rice dumplings). If it’s your first time I recommend trying houjicha soft serve as it’s not as strong a flavour and not as bitter, but still fragrant.
Is a bit of a tight squeeze in here though especially on weekends! Don’t expect to find a seat unless it’s a weekday during the day time!
S. T.
Delicious houjicha sundae, which only available at soho branch. Whilst the matcha sundae is available at both branches, recommended for matcha lovers. Their shiratama are chewy and delicious too.
Each branch has few things on the menu that are the different from the other branch, so visit both to check the menu if you have the chance. The service at the Soho branch is better though, polite and cheerful compare to slightly snobbish service at Chinatown's.
There are seats available, but limited.
j.
When walking amongst the crowds of soho in the middle of the liveliest and most touristy area in London, sometimes you just need a cold, refreshing pick me up. What better than the icy green matcha soft serve that can make anyone happy. Get in here now if you need a dessert. Don’t be put off by the green tea flavor. It’s as good as advertised and you need to get in here if you’re having an ice cream craving
S. L. L.
£7 each. The sesame ice cream matched perfectly with the red beans! Must try!
Y. D.
Craving for a dessert after dinner at the four Seasons, I was brought here by my friend who lives in London, we both had the chiffon sundae which included matcha soft serves (super silky smooth), a slice of chiffon (light and airy), a scoop of atzuki bean mash (sweet red beans to cut the matcha's bitterness) and cornflakes (the amount I thought could have be reduced, which gave the whole dessert a Big Crunch), the dessert was a typical Asian mix of flavour pairing, sweet, bitter, salty and textures. Definitely a must try!!!!
Be warned, seating capacity is limited, but the petite cup of goodness definitely is great on the go!
N. L.
Perfect for matcha lovers
J. H.
Bit out of my depth here, came at the request of my wife who wanted to have the matcha kakigori. To keep her company, not really being a fan of matcha flavoured desserts, I went for one of the vanilla sundaes. I don't normally like soft ice cream, but with the addition of some red beans (a staple of Japanese desserts I actually do like) and, weirdly, dome rice krispies, it actually made quite a pleasant ensemble.
W. Y.
Very nice shop.
B. T.
The outside is very shy, and easy to miss. But if you find it! We very much enjoyed the icecream! It is a macha house and not a tea house tho, to if tea is what you seek this isnt it. It's cold dessert and beverages kind of place. Small and cozy
E. Z.
Going to make a bold statement here: I think this is one of the best macha and hojicha ice cream place in London! Highly recommend the sundae, although personally I would go easy on the red bean paste which can over power the ice cream flavour. Recommend the hojicha ice cream if you haven’t tried it before. It’s got a more nutty flavour.
The only down side is the place is very very small and there is no restroom! Would love to see them expand into bigger unit.
A. T.
If you're a fan of matcha soft serve you should check out Tsujiri!
O. O.
The best matcha in london and in the world
V.
The matcha ice cream is very good with proper strong matcha favour, the green tea pudding and mochi are not bad too but over priced.
R. K.
Great experience. My first experience at a Tsujiri in London and it didn’t disappoint. When you walk into the store it brings about a lovely ambience and atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and cheerful and are there to help you with any of your needs. I bought the matcha tsujiri sundae and it was lovely, the mochi and red beans were a good mix. I also tried the tsujiri ice blend which was good too, I bought a medium matcha blend as I didn’t want to be overpowered by the matcha. I would recommend this store to others.
G. X. L.
Tsujiri always offers high quality desert. All Asians love matcha green tea flavoured everything :D
Usually I go to the Tsujiri in Chinatown but this location has exclusively the Hojicha soft serve which is soooooo delicious. Highly recommended!
A. L.
I've attempted to try this place a few times but the queue was always too long. I tried again on Sunday around 4pm and there was no queue out the door! I was the third person to be served, so there was still a bit of a wait. I ordered the no.2 sundae with the matcha softserve, Mochi, azuki beans and a golden powder (which is nutty ish but superfine). Although the softserve was tasty: matcha enough to taste and colour but not at all bitter - it melted really quickly. As I ate it on an empty stomach, it's pretty harsh (Mochi is not easy to digest along with azuki beans which is carb and protein together), not a good combo. Would I go back again? Not in a hurry until they fix the temperature of the softserve!
L.
I was really excited to try this place as I am a lover of all things matcha. However I didn't find it that amazing. It's quite expensive for what you get. I actually went back another time as I thought maybe it was just that one ice cream type I got however I still wasn't impressed. Nonetheless I don't think I will be coming back.
L. L.
Honestly, the best matcha soft-serve ice cream in London! Nothing else like it. @tsujiri is my happy place 😊
A. N.
Matcha ice-cream declined in many ways. The taste is authentic, some sweets more some less. It's fresh and original, maybe just a bit pricey for what it is
N. T.
Best matcha at London! Love both the roasted and the normal matcha!
A. V.
Was searching for ages for a Matcha cafe like you see in Japan, Tsjuri is definitely the one. They have a strong matcha option for those are really serious about the stuff and sell the parfaits and chiffon cakes that you see all over Japan!
D. L.
This place is a hidden gem! The matcha soft serve is the best I've had, and the prices are very good for the quality of their desserts. You can get tea, sundaes, pastries, etc. and you can also pick how strong the matcha is.
D. C. S.
Good matcha / sesame ice cream, tea and other desserts. Small so difficult to find a place to sit ... not so bad if it’s sunny outside! Worth a visit.
M. P.
Beautiful food, taste and service. Nothing is overly sweet and the matcha taste is authentic. Thoroughly recommend if you’re after something sweet (but not overly so)
H. B.
Both Matcha and Roasted Green Tea flavor sandaes / soft serve are very very delicious. However they should rearrange the table settings and definitely should not put that kind of bulky stools in such a small space.
T. T.
Tasty desserts. The ice blended had some big ice cubes last time I went though
a.
Best place for matcha desserts!! They also sell ingredients and other misc items so be sure to pick up some good quality matcha powder here 😄
M.
I went to little place as I love matcha but sadly it didn't live up to expectations or it's instagram photos (what does I guess) My matcha latte was ok, but I've had much better in a nicer space
T. T.
Of the matcha and hōjicha softserve flavours, the hōjicha has an almost caramel-like flavour from the roasted tea leaves. Definitely worth a try if you have only tried matcha. Great cone, too.
Y. J.
Tsujiri is finally in London! Having tried them in Taipei and Kuala Lumpur, we of course were there to support them on their grand opening day in London.
We got to try 4 different desserts but Tsujiri O-matcha sundae (£4.95) was our favourite of the night! A layered sundae that was absolute heaven. At the bottom is a layer of genmai; crispy toasted rice (what you'd get with genmai tea), next is a layer of red bean paste and topped with a swirl of the matcha soft ice cream. You also get a mini shiratama (glutinous riceball), a sweet preserved chestnut and a crispy waffle!
This will definitely be one of our all time favourite now!
S. H.
Perhaps it's a little unfair to rate this place on two non-matcha items but here it is: I had the kinako shiratama and some hot houjicha. The latter was perfectly fine -- it would be tricky to go wrong with some warming houjicha on a crisp autumnal afternoon. But I felt like the shiratama could do with more kinako, though it also came with a fair bit of kuromitsu.
The place is small but the staff are pleasant. Based on these two items, I'm not sure the prices are justified but I'll try some of the matcha offerings next time to be sure.
I. F.
Love their Matcha Cheese cake 😍
M. M.
Delicious! Must try in Chinatown
T. M. L.
I love the nice roasted fragrance that the hojicha soft serve presents. Tried both the matcha and hojicha with crispies and returned for the same. Slightly pricey but makes a good treat once a while.
Would recommend and would return.
d. d.
Initially we have no intention of getting any ice cream,we were just strolling around the area. But the way they present their green teas tempted us. We went with the sundaes, and it was a blast. Although the price is quite expensive, the quality of dessert they offered is superb.
W. L.
Great place to go to for Matcha lovers. I've only tried the matcha ice cream and latte and they're good.
B. M.
My gf and I both got the blended matcha drink and it was phenomenal. It was so extremely delicious that we wish we would’ve found this place sooner. Great real matcha taste.
F. W.
So happy I can find Tsujiri here, same taste as what we have in hometown ☺️
A. K.
Nice food, original Japanese style
S. A.
Really Nice matcha ice cream
S. S. (.
The shop just recently open and I love their matcha green tea and if on a hot day you can enjoy matcha ice cream. The shop is quit small but not cramped.
P. S.
Delicious, creamy and rich matcha ice-cream. Quite expensive for what it is but as a fan of matcha, it's worth the visit once in awhile.
M. E.
Fascinating place to have Japanese ice cream in the heart of London
J. J.
Delicious matcha ice cream and tea! Even got seating upstairs if it’s not too busy! I’d recommend for a casual date spot
T.
Love it.very cute serene place. It's so hard to order here cause I just want everything !
C. B.
Nice matcha soft serve which doesn't taste artificial nor too sweet. Go with one of the sundaes for yummy toppings like red bean or mochi!
P. L.
Flavourful Green tea soft serve but slightly icy texture.
L.
I had the Shiratama (mochi) Green Tea Sundae and my friend had the Chiffon Cake Green Tea Sundae. I preferred the Shiratama, it came with 6 mochi balls and a layer of red beans in the middle. The powdered yellow bean on top was especially delicious, curious to know if I can buy this somewhere myself.
H.
The hojicha ice cream is truly delicious. The movie is really great warm. It's a small place though and you will likely have to take your treat to go.
P. S.
Nice stuff! The wife and I chose two fairly similar items from the menu so it's hard to give an overall view of the place...
But let's just say that we ate well! And it is a bit on the pricey side although not obscene.
M. I.
I love this matcha ice cream shop. The matcha ice cream with cake is the best. There was a long queue but nothing too bad.
S. H.
Excellent mochi, I highly recommend the Kinako warabi mochi for its earthy and robust flavours 🤩
Looking forward to being able to visit again once the lockdown has been lifted.
S. W.
Loved the matcha soft serve very much!
T. h.
Amazing desserts and coffee, would definitely recommend the black sesame seed latte and any of the hoji treats
J.
I’m a regular at Tsujiri. I love the variety and quality and excellent service. I discovered it by accident and I make it a habit to go at least once every month. Sometimes more. Ice cream, teas etc so they cater for all the seasons
It's expensive but try their puddings. Season only so not always available but it's the best dessert I've ever had. Make sure you download their app. Embargo
M. S.
So much matcha is so many different forms. One of my favourite matcha places. It's always clean and never very busy.
K. T.
The food were much smaller than shown in the photos.
A. C.
Authentic Matcha! Definitely recommend their Matcha soft serve
C. L.
Fab place if you like Japanese desserts and strong matcha flavours!
C. Y. T.
Decent matcha ice cream. Love the mix with glutinous rice balls.
Nothing extraordinarily special, but a good place for some chilly ice cream after a hearty meal in China Town.
J. L.
A lovely and cute Match ice-cream shop. The ice-cream is absolutely delicious. However, I noticed that recently the amount of icecream you get on the cone is much smaller
H. M.
The ice cream tastes great (go for strong matcha) unlike the cashier, who forgot her manners and looked sour.
A. H.
They have great matcha soft serve ice-cream. Great vibes
S. L.
Not a fan of Matcha but LOVE the Houjicha latte here, better than anywhere else I’ve tried. Milky and nutty all in one.
C.
Probably the best matcha ice cream in London!
J. D.
They have the best matcha / green tea icecream! I normally don't enjoy green tea flavor icecream but love the ones from here.
G. Z.
Ordered the mochi cheese tea and left quite disappointed, the taste does not justify the high price
G.
Their matcha cheese tea made my day!
T. C.
Not as nice as the one at Gion Tokyo
J. V.
Ice cream, Matcha yea and Mochi in Ice Cream, best in town by a stretch (this branch way less busy than sister branch nearer to Piccadilly).
M. D.
Their strong matcha ice cream is really good.
X. Z.
Very good matcha tea and deserts! The space inside is a little small. Sometimes you will have to queue to get a seat. When it is busy, the service speed can be slow.
C. H.
Nice little Japanese desert place. Had a matcha sundae and it was good. Price probably is a little high, but it was tasty 👍
A. A.
Amazing vegan gluten free ice cream. Sorry that they are closing this place down :(
K. M.
Love their matcha chiffon sundae 🍦😍 Ice cream has rich matcha flavour, the chiffon cake was soft and goes very well with the red bean paste and matcha ice cream 🍦
S. G.
Amazing ice cream.
I'm sorry but I don't like matcha ice cream/tea, so I had a simple vanilla.
Best I've had in ages! 😋
b. h.
Best joint for my matcha fix, could say I'm addicted:)
W. L.
As a matcha fan, I just love all matcha products Tsujiri offering. Look forward to trying any new matcha and red bean combined products.
M. D.
I'd never had matcha ice cream before, but it was very tasty! Cool place! :-)

Great desserts, not that much of a wait for, great positioning of the store you can easily get there if you are around the area. Has plenty of seats upstairs, for like 15 people and 4 downstairs, not that bad compared to all the other stores.
F. C.
This place is very expensive just for some green tea...but if you love green tea, who cares about the price! They do many green tea dessert from ice cream to shave ice to mochi. Must try!
D. C.
Lovely green tea and ice cream with two varieties of green tea: matcha and houjicha. Lots of tea and ice cream related options. The only danger is you may eat too much!
H. W. (.
Love this place and love matcha. If you are a matcha lover as well this is the #1 place u must come to
J. P.
Delicious Japanese deserts. The Matcha Sundaes are heavenly and I recommend you take a byte as soon as possible.
H.
They serve matcha and Sesame ice cream like in Japan! Really authentic.
A. K.
I love the matcha icecream and their matcha latte. It looks amazing and tastes great.
M. G.
I like it very much. The food is very good.
A. M.
Branch of the classic Japanese chain that specializes in matcha ice cream. The mochi sundae is amazing!
A. G.
Hits any matcha soft serve ice cream craving. Delicious. Lattes are delicious too.
C. F. T.
Had the Shiratama sundae. It was really refreshing. Would definitely come again to try some other items from the menu.
J. K.
Solid matcha ice cream. My friend's ordered the matcha ice, that is okay if you want to.drink a cold matcha drink after everything melts.
C. N.
Hoji cha ice cream is out if this world amazing. The strength of the aroma hits you all the time. Best Ive ever had.
C. P.
Very nice matcha drinks but sadly there was very limited space available to sit inside. Okay if you are passing and want something to take-away.
Y. M.
Authentic Japanese dessert shop! I would always love to grab a macha from them and cannot wait next time to try their black seasame desert!
H. J. K.
Best decision to come into Tsujiri today! It was cold and rainy - ordered their signature hot matcha latte - it was so warming! The matcha taste was strong - you can still taste a bit of the matcha powder grains. It’s also not overly sweet or milky - the ratio was just right!
J. T.
Nice tasting and varied cakes and matcha drinks. Good to have decent seating spaces on both levels.
C.
honestly something was off about the matcha ice cream. texture was kinda more like a sorbet than an ice cream. the matcha flavour seemed undissolved as well. like it didnt mix well into the ice cream. was honestly quite disappointed considering how i really do need a good matcha fix in london
N. S.
Best matcha and houjicha tea in London
C. W.
Expensive but we'll worth it. The matcha crispy sundae is amazing!! Will definitely return!
F. Y.
Delicious hojicha ice cream, nice vibe and friendly staff
O. Q.
Really great match ice-cream!
S. M.
Always crowded and in good atmosphere, tried the Matcha soft ice-cream which is only £4.20 and the taste is fantastic.
S. M.
Amazing Matcha right in London. Served any style you take it, including straight up—a rarity where I’m from.
J. G.
Tasty drinks and ice cream!
J. N.
Great atmosphere in this little shop with a good view of the food market if it's on. If you like Matcha and Ice cream you'll certainly enjoy it here
K.
The yuzu tea was lovely and the matcha was very good, however I didn't realise they only had disposable cups. There is seating upstairs so I don't understand why they don't provide actual cups.
S. L.
The latte and sundae we ordered were really yummy. However, the staff forgot to bring our Latte to us after it was already made - so it wasn’t hot when we got our latte. It was also hard to find a staff to ask about our order - they were a bit too busy. So the service let us down.
S. K.
Best Matcha in town. Always consistent in quality
S. C.
Lovely cold goodies. But don't bank on getting a seat!
S. S.
Definitely one of the better options for matcha desserts in the city, though comes with a bit of a price tag as well.
M. A.
Great place to have Matcha desserts. The Matcha ice cream is really tasty.
E. B.
O-matcha cappuccino is made fresh from real matcha powder while the matcha latte is made from syrup prepared each morning
P. N.
Cute little dessert place, a bit overpriced but it is central london chinatown. Lovely staff. Upstairs seating area is a bit barren but fine for purpose.
T. S.
I'm in love with the warm drinks here as I'm the person who gets cold easily and wants to easily consume the item. Also I'm usually walking with friends so drinks are my choice. They also have a cold selection with matcha and strawberry! I can't say no to the matcha ice creams either when I get a seat upstairs!
K. R.
Cute dessert place. Reasonably new so very limited options at the moment. More a grab and go place, very limited seating. I will definitely try it again in the summer months!
F. W.
Anything with red bean and matcha is a must-go to place for me!
m.
Nice food, but small portions did not make for value for money. There was more ice than matcha milk tea and the Warabi Mochi came to about 6 pieces in all. All for nearly £12.
D. D.
Amazing place. I had the best matcha ice cream here. Would truly recommend.
F. Y. C.
Matcha ice cream is really nice, go for the matcha 1.8 ice cream in a regular cup, it has a really good depth of green tea flavour. Place is small but has some seats upstairs if a little cramped, I'm surprised it has room for a customer toilet.
M. T.
Amazing matcha desserts and ice creams
H. M.
A bit too sweet, but fairly tasty deserts none the less. Too bad that, like many cafe's, it's a real gamble if you'll get staff competent in making what they make.
C. Ö.
Great matcha icecream!
B. A.
Came in for the Yuzu tea. The tea was lovely and service was quick. Would come back here.
M. K.
Always consistently good, with great friendly service 😊
M. H.
Best matcha ice cream I’ve ever had. Quite expensive but everything in London is expensive
E. T.
amazing Hojicha and Matcha sundae, not too sweet, good texture and taste of green tea
I. F. L. (.
I hate this ice-cream shop!!! The taste is too good that I could not stop eating the matcha soft ice-cream and my weight....god....
S. L. (. N. M.
Tea taste is not strong enough.
It's very sweet and no Houjicha flavour.
P. P.
Amazing Matcha ice cream!
G. U.
Delicious matcha desserts, not a fan of the corn flakes, macha components very good though!!
M. T.
Very cozy Matcha tea house, lovely atmosphere.
They have 3 different options of ice cream: Vanilla, Matcha and strong Matcha.
My mum loves to come here for the strong matcha ice cream, so of course I had to try it too and I wasn't dissapointed! I will definitly be coming here again to try other things on the menu!
Their variety of Japanese tea's are also wonderful, which are served hot or cold :)
A. P.
If you’re on a date around Chinatown, score a few easy points here:
- quirky, authentic desserts from Japan will titillate and leave her wanting for more
- minimalist, still crisp decor
Docking one star because of ice crystals in the ice cream (come one, less milk and more cream, it’s an easy one!)
B. L.
Ordered Hojicha Shiratama Sundae, awesome! Very good quality control, taste the same as the one back in Taiwan!
M. F.
Very good if you want Matcha
s. s.
Had to get on the Instagram bandwagon and have some sundaes. We really enjoyed them and it was a little different to our usual treats
D. D. T.
Went there yesterday and it was fantastic! Great dessert place! It's quite full though so you may have to wait a bit.
S. L.
Cute place, the hot milk teas are great.
n. b.
So much yum!! If you love matcha, this place will suit you right down to the ground!
B. V.
I cannot decide whether I like it or not. I don't think it gives you an experience and the place is very small so you cannot really spend much time there. Upstairs is totally cramped and rather noisy.
We spent £20 for a match ice cream, a match latte and the mochi. I was shocked. For this price you could have a really high quality italian gelato. I did not like the match latte but the ice cream was good. The mochi is ridiculously expensive and not worth the price.
It is located in a very busy street. It is really a takeaway place for the price is actually Michelin for what you get!
K. M.
The best matcha ice cream I've had so far in London
C. A.
Very nice but not mind blowing as the price is quite high. Cheaper alternatives in the area.
V. F.
All things matcha! Have been back here twice now, great options, reasonably priced and tasty.
E.
Matcha sundae with mochi and red beans was super delicious
C. B.
delicious macha cheesecake! will definitely come here again.
D. R.
My Tea was delicious,
Thank you x
K. S.
Pricey but great quality. I don’t understand why matcha is so overly expensive when you can get it quite cheaply in Asia. Well, yes, it’s mostly Imported. But really, I think it’s overly priced due its ‘healthy’ and ‘well-being’ slogan. Should lower the price for the general population’s health? Fast food is so cheap and healthy fresh food is so expensive. What is this non-sense?
A. T.
Delicious matcha ice cream and Japanese desert. Downside is that it can be very crowded with very limited seat .
D. A.
Lovely and rapid customer service.
C.
Shiratama sundae every time, love this place
E.
one of my must-visits whenever i come to london. delicious
A. T.
Good matcha products. Professional staff. Quick service. Dining space for guests.
M. P.
Nice niche interior and lovely food. We ordered one sundae and a hot dessert.
Y. Z.
Can’t remember how many times I’ve been there... don’t miss out the iced matcha/hojicha latte!!!
V. K.
the best i always come here i recommend for
z. l.
Really like their Matcha ice-cream! Highly recommend anyone to try this.
E. C.
The closest you will get to Japanese matcha ice cream desserts without going to Japan! It's not cheap but it's to die for.
