I have lived in California for 18 years, after living 16 years in Europe, every year I like to return to the old continent. One of the cities I love to visit is London. Walking through its streets is the best therapy. There are always novelties and places to discover, but there are classics where I always return: This corner is one of them. They have the largest selection of teas and their staff is very professional, they inform you of their qualities in a friendly way. On the first floor of the store there is a beautiful tea room. But they closed it because of covid and so far they haven't opened it. It is really fine, I hope that on my next trip it will be available. It is a classic. I highly recommend this place for a lovely pause in London.

We had an amazing experience! Billy helped us understand the world of teas. The different types, flavors, and uses. Being from The US and not ever drinking a quality Tea! We are truly glad we stopped by and Billy took the utmost care of us, with patience. He explained what temperatures, time and preparation for each of the tea flavors we purchased, even if we could sweeten or not the teas. He gave us a slight breakdown of the science of teas. The only thing I missed was taking more pictures and a a picture with Billy! Thank you!!!!

As a tea connoisseur, I won't say much negative regarding the quality of the teas they sell, are they overpriced and going for that luxurious look? Definitely. A tourist attraction though? Yes and no. The store being in Piccadilly Circus is certainly strategical, that 1837 sign is a bit misleading too, as that represents their 1837 tea blend, albeit the company being very recent; on the other hand though you could not blame them for having a luxury good store in central London. Real tea costs money, definitely not this much, but it's still expensive, people shouldn't compare it to PG tips.

found this place by chance, it’s so spacious inside and the selection of teas they have is quite impressive, for loose leaf tea the prices are quite reasonable, i was served by prashant who was so lovely, he took his time to show me various teas and i ended up buying jasmine green tea which i love anyway but he also introduced me to geisha blossom tea which smelt wonderful and i really can’t wait to try it

This place is pretty good. The atmosphere of this place is quite nice. It is very spacious. The tea for sale on the lower floor is lined up and set up in a really cool way. The upstairs is a nice place as well, where you can have a meal with tea. You may have to wait a little before you sit, but they have a nice museum to look at while you wait. Me and my family went their and got three tea pots. One of their teas was pretty bland but the others were really good. When you order, you really aren’t sure which tea will be really good or just bland. Their desserts are also really nice. There is also tea sold downstairs but it is a bit overpriced for the size it is sold at. But overall it’s a nice place to visit if you are in London. Probably wouldn’t recommend to buy the tea sold in packages downstairs but instead just have it made for you in the upstairs dining area so you can try.

The shop has a large selection of both blended and unblended teas and the staff was very friendly. Prices ranged from £8 for 50g to hundreds of pounds, depending on the tea. Note that you can get every tea that they have straight from the big tins and packaged in "neutral" packs, allowing you to avoid the 'unfortunate' pictures they have on some of their prepackaged teas. You can smell the teas before purchase. They used to have a tea room as well, but that is closed at the moment of writing.

Amazing restaurant! I booked for myself and friends for my birthday to have afternoon tea. HUGE selection of teas which are just to die for and the food was superb. The first time we came, it was during Christmas in the evening and the wait was really long and the service was really slow. We came back in the morning on another day and there was no one else there, it was so much better. There are so many teas to choose from, the food is always really delicious, and the atmosphere is so Chic. It's certainly not cheap though.

One of the most iconic store near Leicester Square!! wide varieties of tea! If you are a tea fan, must visit this store, they also offer pastries, cakes and other snacks based on tea. Prices are little on the higher side, but ambiance is great plus background music. So a perfect place to enjoy high tea if you are around Leicester square or Piccadilly Circus area. They also let you sniff various varieties of tea and you can also buy mini packs here.

There are more than plenty of tea options to choose from with kettles and tea pots of different sizes and makes. The upstairs is reserved for tea and cakes, beautifully presented and dare I add the scones are out of this world. Absolutely delicious! Very fancy looking tea place. There are a few locations globally, all similar in theme. It's a cosey place to catch up with friends over an insane amount of choices of tea. Prices for tea vary from a few pounds to £14 for a rare, premium tea (it was quite nice, actually). They do serve afternoon tea and little cakes, but I didn't try those in my visit. You can buy loose leaves on the ground floor, too, among other things. I visited on a Thursday night and it was very empty for seating, so it's perfect if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of popular cafes or crazy Thursday night bars.

Dont think I have ever seen such a variety of teas avalible. Stacked floor to seeling with quite literally thousands of flavours avalible. Staff are very knowlagable and will guide you to what you are looking for. Tea pots and other accessories are also avalible. There is also a sweet counter with macaroons and other very well presented desserts such as cakes. Obviously this tea is expensive but you get what you pay for here. Tea is all top quality and I recommend the cakes avalible.

What a lovely experience! I was served by a tall blonde gentleman named Billy who was an absolute delight. Full of knowledge and extremely helpful, I left the store several pounds poorer and would gladly do so again! An incredible selection, I purchased the Yin Zhen Silver Needles (n602) and the Milk Oolong tea (n670) as he personally recommended them to me. Ask for Billy by name if you should stop by the store as he delivers exactly the kind of excellence I've come to expect from TWG.

If I could buy the teas here, I would but the prices are steep although I am sure the quality is of the highest standards. The range is varied and so are the prices. Here the tea pots are of the finest quality and on average about £1000 upwards. There is a dessert section with meringue nests and ice cream and another to the restaurant which I haven't seen yet. This place is nice for getting a gift from an elegant tea shop in London!

I don't know how to note this place. I tried the shop and the tea room and I have not the same opinion on both. I really liked the shop, they have plenty of teas, the staff is nice (maybe just they come to you too easily), the tea is also great. But the tea room wasn't as I expected. The place is beautiful, the cakes are delicious, the tea too but the service is the worst! We arrived, we waited a bit (it was fine) then they placed us and forgot to give us the menu so we waited 15 minutes. Then we were a bit lost because the tea menu is huuuge! I mean it's great but so difficult to make a choice with all of the teas. And then we waited 45 minutes for our teas and cakes to arrive. It was so long! We were a bit tired and cold so it was okay to wait but at the end we were sleepy. We won't come back because the service was not good at all! We will only come for the shop to buy some loose tea because it's really good and they have a lot of different choices.

The tea shop on ground floor deserve five star. The staff is nice, they have an amazing choice of tea which taste amazing. Maybe a bit pricier than other tea house, but for this quality it's not a problem. Otherwise, the restaurant upstair is disappointing. So tea is excellent, but the menu is huge. They have hundreds of tea! It's hard to choose. Cakes are great, a bit small but ok. The service is reeeeally slow. We waited 15 minutes for the menu (we needed to ask because they forgot us), then we see our waitress 5 minutes later but we didn't have the time to choose yet. So we see her 30 minutes later, we got our food again 30 minutes later... We spend more than 2 hours here for a simple tea and cake. In this kind of place we usually spend 45 minutes to 1h15. Hopefully we didn't plan anything important for the rest of the day. For the defense of the staff, they are very kind but too busy because it's understaffed. They deserved to be 2 or 3 more waiter to take care of every table correctly.

There are two parts to this store: the store (of course) and the restaurant/tea house. It’s a nice, instagramable location but wasn’t perfect complaints. The food was decent (nothing special) and the service was very good. The tea however, was not really that amazing. The tea leaves themselves are high quality: buy some and brew them yourself. The way they brew them there is nothing special and probably isn’t worth $8 or more dollars for the pot. The place is worth still checking out but nothing too amazing and not for people looking for the best value vacation spots.

Out of this world collection of fine teas. I believe they have over 500 different types of tea. Many if not most of the teas are very expensive but they are indeed delicious teas. My major complaint is that there aren’t enough staff working in the shop so often you need to literally be searching for someone to help.

I've been here twice for the desserts and each time the quality has been amazing. Whenever I'm in London now, I try to make sure I visit here because the cake slices are divine. Love it. However, I can only speak for the takeaway desserts on the ground floor as I have yet to visit the upper floor to have food indoors.

Good tea selection and tasty tea. That is about it. Undercooked scones, terribly slow service. When we arrived, the hostess advised a 15-20 min wait time. We pointed out empty tables and she said it would take 15-20 to reset the dirty tables!!!! Everything after that took 15-20 mins, no matter what you asked for (for someone to take our order, to bring the bill, to bring milk). After all this, they automatically added a 12.5% service charge to the bill for the poor service.

It was very luxurious and spacious to choose one's tea and also to purchase a tea mug, or tea pot. There was one Russian tea pot going at £2,000! The servers were ready to help, and were easily identifiable by their attire. I had a very good experience, and I will certainly be popping in there again.

I am so glad this tea shop has opened in London! It's not easy to find a refined tea house like those of yesteryear anymore, or even a tea house to go to in the late afternoon or early evening as an alternative to a pub. The decor and music very much creates a nostalgic feel of when tea was something enjoyed elegantly, with all the rites and celebrations that come with it. This place takes tea seriously- and you know that from the moment you are presented with all the tea options! I have never in my life seen tea researched, described and detailed so thoroughly and academically, and with a spectrum of options that would surpass any wine list in the greatest of bars or restaurants. The menu itself is a thing of beauty. They offer afternoon tea and a selection of pastries, but on this occasion I ordered a selection of macarons, all which had a tea flavour as a component. They were all delicious, chewy and flavourful: as perfect as a macaron can get. My friend ordered the scones which, admittedly, on arrival did not look like very much (both in size as well as appeal). However, they were warm and fantastic: true praise came from my friend who rarely dishes it out. In particular he could not stop raving about the tea-infused jam which was truly something one of a kind. The only reason I have given it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I felt the prices were a little bit on the high side, particularly considering the Leicester Square area prices. Otherwise I couldn't really fault it based on this experience. I look forward to returning for more tea and, perhaps, the full afternoon tea experience.

A fabulous temple of tea. Great ranges of black, green and red (rooibos) teas. There is a lot of tea to sniff in the main shop area, but the back wall contains giant tins of their premium teas (which they will fetch down for you to sniff) and, although they are somewhat pricey, they can be bought in small 50 gram packets. There's a tea-room / restaurant upstairs too.

Ambient is good for a good tea. Staffs are clueless and some seems to be under standard. Our 2 scoop ice cream was served in a cup with the ice cream spilt over the edge on another side. They have elaborate tea pots made of gold and silver to the classic porcelain ones. Their floor above is a restaurant with seating, where you can have a classic afternoon tea.

The shop has a nice atmosphere but sometimes some people working there (probably due to the excessive number of people on some days) are not very kind.
