P. J.This place is a hidden treasure just off Chinatown on Rupert Street but well worth the visit for the best ice cream and macarons in London!!! You can tell that it is homemade and made with care. The flavour combinations are also amazing and true to its roots.
The staff are also welcoming and friendly and ready to help with any questions to help you to choose from such a wide selection.
The decor is also bright and welcoming with seating also available to relax and enjoy the ice cream macarons sandwiches!
I would definitely recommend Yolkin for families also and for anyone wanting to enjoy a delicious dessert in central London!
K. M.Yolkin has been on my list to try for ages and really happy to have stumbled across it on a stroll this week! I tried the Mango Mochi with a tiger macaron. Both the ice cream and macaron were super yummy! Definitely a lovely place to try for dessert if you’re in the Chinatown area!

It is made up of a chocolate macaron 🍫 and a big scoop of chocolate ice cream 🍫 with some honeycomb niblets 🍯 It was divine! 🤤 Although for some it might get too sweet with the macaron, but I loved it 💕
They have many other flavours and I can't wait to come back and try more of them 🥰

Y. S.I have heard this place is going to close permanently on 27th February 2022 so we had to go try it before it did!!! It was great but because we went so late in the day and so close to the permanent closure, there weren’t many options available which is why it’s 4 stars. There were two ice cream flavours available and no buttercream macarons. We bought the macaron sandwich with the dumping macaron and mango ice cream which was super cute and really nice. I would definitely recommend this place if it wasn’t closing, I’m really sad it is closing.

N. Y.Very cute ice cream shop with some neon light interior. They advertise on homemade ice cream and macaroon. I ordered the mermaid one, which is salted caramel flavoured, and the ice cream is soooo nice! the macaroon is a bit chewy and thin, but it is a great match with the ice cream.
i also tried a crepe brûlée macaroon, a bit sweet, but the cream in the middle is firm and nice~
i think all their macaroon ice cream sandwich contain almond in their macaroon though so it might not be suitable for people with allergies
B.This is potentially my favourite ice cream place in London. The ice cream is homemade, the flavours are amazing and unique, the portions are big, it's affordable for central London and the staff are lovely.
Choosing my favourite flavour would be like choosing a favourite child. The Strawberry Pocky nails that sweet and creamy Japanese strawberry taste. The Matcha Oreo has that perfect balance of grassy bitterness with just the right level of sweetness. The Red Velvet is so creamy with the cake pieces adding just the right amount of bite. The HK Egg Tart is a custard and pastry dream. They often run out of popular flavours on busy days so be prepared with a second flavour choice.

S. A.Actually surprised with how great this place was. Most “instagram food places” never live up to their hype but this really did. There’s many unique flavours and you can mix to your own liking, you basically make your sandwich. We had brownie with red velvet ice cream. It costs 5.50£ but for that, the ice sandwich is huge and the brownie is filling too. Great for sharing. Worker was nice and helpful, pretty interiors and good location too! Will definitely try to return.

Flavours were great - we tried the matcha Oreo, taro, red velvet and egg tart (our favourite of the 4). £5 is a little pricey for an every day treat, but quality was good.

I particularly enjoyed the strawberry poki ice cream with crunchy bits of poki inside. The macaroons shaped for children are especially cute.

X. C. A.Lovely small little ice cream place with such good looking desserts! And not only do they look good, they taste just as good too! Very surprised from the quality of the desserts - most places now are a gimmick and only look good/“instagrammable” - but these are so worth trying, they’re amazing! The service was also great, the staff were lovely and so sweet - we went with two children and they even joked about with the kids. Definitely coming back here again. The menu was amazing - ranging from milo ice cream, to red velvet ice cream and cookie dough and blueberry cheesecake ice cream macarons! It was a delight ❤️

Worth the price tag, though if you’re looking for a cheaper treat, try the scooped ice cream, which comes in exotic flavours ranging from durian to matcha.

The quality (having eaten Yolkin's products both before and after the move to a permanent location) has never dropped. The oversized macaron is always perfectly baked, crispy on the exterior with a chewy underside. The ice cream flavours change constantly and all are high quality (importantly not too sweet given its sandwiched between a macaron), with specialities in Asian flavours like Hojicha, Milo, HK milk tea, black sesame to name but a few that have been on offer in the past. Firm favourites return periodically so keep an eye out for their social media (twitter and instagram).
Great tasting dessert or snack, worth going back time and again to try the new flavours.
S. H.Delicious ice cream macaron! I have wanted to try Yolkin for ages and it definitely didn't disappoint. I went for for cookies and cream ice cream macaron - the macaron was soft but chewy, the ice cream was creamy and smooth. The staff were really friendly too - I'll definitely be back!

Me and my sister were visiting London from Canada and were blown away by these ice cream sandwiches. They are so unique and so delicious, the macaroons are delightful and the ice cream is also delicious. These are a must try if you are in London!

M.The attendees are quite friendly which is a plus. However, I came here with a review on this being a place of a must try. This was in regards to their macaroon ice cream sandwich. Was quite disappointed, the ice cream that I had it with was salted caramel, and it tasted like water and ice, with almost no saltiness to it. The macaroons were more like a sticky merengue. I believe they can improve a lot, but they must get serious if they want a ton of customers outside their doorstep. Easiest advice I can give is for them to taste their own product😉

R. V. (.If you like macaroons this is the place to go!about 5 different flavours to choose from and you can make your own. Each one is roughly £4.50 which I thought was reasonable. It's filling and yummy. It's only a small place and so there is limited stock. I went on a Sunday at around 4pm and there wasn't much left to choose from.

They tested really good, the black sesame one was my favourite! The only thing was that there was a bit too much filling. However, I have twice experienced coming into the store and getting macaron sandwiches which were hard and had a chalky texture (assuming they were old). Also, first time i've been in the store was 1,5 years ago (so about when they firts would have opened) - I have witnessed the price rise from £4,20 or £4,70 (cannot recall anymore) to £6 for a macaron ice cream sandwich! Moreover, their brown sugar pearl soft serve is not quite there yet. Overly sweet! (Even though I am an extreme sweet tooth).

Yolkin’s ice cream is spot on with strong flavours of the earl grey, not too sweet and the consistency is soft enough to scoop easily. As for the macaron shell itself: sweet and soft inside as expected!

Keep in mind they oftentimes close before 4pm, when they run out. Also, the place is actually located inside Siam Eatery.

Can’t recommend enough!

s.I have been meaning to try Yolkin because a while ago I saw a post for Pandan Coconut icecream but their Instagram does not welcome DMs so I just forgot about it.
Finally stumbled upon Yolkin as I was in the area and to my delight they had Pandan Coconnut icecream as well as Hong Kong flavours like White Rabbit Candy, Egg Tart and Hong Kong style milk tea.
To me Pandan is such a lovely flavour but it isn't that popular in Hong Kong but then it originates from the southeast so I was really chuffed that Yolkin had it.
At Yolkin, you can just get ice-cream or the ice-cream sandwich.
The decor at Yolkin is hip and trendy with bar seating at the front of the shop and some tables at the back end.
Self service water is also provided the counter which is appreciated when having desserts.
The pandan coconut icecream was far better than I expected, it was not too sweet with a strong pandan taste while the texture was thick and sticky or mastic should I say just like American Frozen custard which is made with eggs.
Overall I would recommend Yolkin be it for ice cream or Macaron ice-cream sandwiches.
According to timeout Yolkin was a street stall turned shop by founder Sammie Le who made ice cream from egg yolks not used from making macarons.

If I'm not mistaken, the flavours they offer change weekly and special menus sell out quite quickly, so check their IG or you could just walk in and suprise yourself!

H. R.Must try their ice creams when in London! Wonderful assortment of unusual flavors such as Vietnamese Coffee, Hong Kong tea, Horlicks, Durian and many many more creative delicious flavors. The owner herself is a wonderful and passionate individual and is always there when I visit. I walked in and didn’t realize they were already closed and yet she served me patiently without ever commenting they were actually closed for the day. Nor did she rush me or say take out only—super impressed!

If you choose to make your own cookie glass you may have 5 options on the cakes then there were 10 different kinds of ice cream and 3 or 4 topping (cost 50p extra).
I chose macaroni cookie and caramel ice cream.
The cake was delicious, crispy on the outside and inside. Glassen tasted like the usual GB ice cream you bought in the store and I could have toppled, Oreo crumbs.
Perhaps cost £ 5 for this, but a funny idea.

Jag valde maccaron cookie och caramel glass.
Kakan var jättegod, krispig på utsidan och sådär seg inuti. Glassen smakade som vanlig GB glass du köper i affären och toppingen kunde jag ha varit utan, Oreo smulor.
Kanske kostade £5 för denna, men en rolig idé.
