Reviews of Toby Carvery East Hunsbury
L. C.
Love the Toby, best carvery to go to, yes it can be busy at times so it's a shame we only have one now! But the service is always great and the food is great too. I have kids so as you could imagine a sit down meal can be eventful sometimes but the staff entertain them and don't bat an eyelid or make us feel a nuisance like some eateries. Especially Vicki lovely lady we've come to know and love through coming here so much as well as a few other staff members, we've befriended being regulars here.
T. C.
Carvery nice and fresh on a Sunday as expected however shocking service. My mother had a dangerously wobbly chair they wouldn't sort & when we returned from the carvery the 'pints' we were served were an absolute joke.
Disappointing and trying to get away with 3/4 pints.
D. F.
You know where you are with a Toby and the East Hunsbury one did not disappoint.
We stopped in on our day trip to the Norfolk Coast. It was busy, but service was efficient and friendly. Food as always was of excellent quality and plentiful.
This is the first time we've visited this Toby but it definitely won't be the last.
c.
All of your food is really tasty and fresh. The Yorkshires and roast potatoes are just the best. I love the wide selection of veg you have on (I totally pigged put on the onions in gravy!!) your condiment selection is fantastic too
D. B.
Excellent service, very nice meal. Had gammon, turkey, mash, cauliflower cheese, please, French beans, carrots, onions in grave and please. The cost was £11.99
The staff were polite, friendly and welcoming.
I would advise booking in advance as the place gets very busy and you could be facing quite a wait if you don't.
Worth a visit.

Third time I have been for breakfast. Great as usual. 4 start as my preference bacon not as crispy as usual. Potatoes very over cooked and no tomatoes. Still had a plateful and ate it all. Also as a
wheelchair user a bit disappointed as there was no mention of disabled toilet when I asked where the ladies were. Luckily I'm able to walk a short distance with crutch. But trying to push open 2 doors bit dodgy but managed
A. H.
Food nice and hot. Plenty of meat and good selection of veg. If the pigs in blankets were included in the price it would have been 5 star. Waitress was Steph, very polite and friendly.

Prebooked, had no waiting time.We were taken straight to our tables. Clean and spacious setting. We was attended to by polite staff who took our drink orders and brought them to our tables almost immediately and given clear directions to where to get our carvery meal. Pork, gammon turkey and beef with an array of vegetable choices and the usual accompaniments with a Sunday roast.
Cannot fault the food, it was top notch!
today 10/4/2022
Only slight concern; since we are still dealing with covid, a suggestion to follow up with, is to make a frequent change of the self serving utensils as they replenish the food dishes. Many hands handle each serving spoon or tongs so you can understand how that might be off putting to some.
Overall very good service , meal and setting . We shall return in the near future. Oh yes , the price not half bad! A roast dinner with all the works plus drinks and desert all came up to under £20 each . Adult meal. Go and enjoy , you know you want to.

We came to the Northampton Toby Carvery this evening after not having visited for a couple of years.
The pub has significant precious memories for myself and my husband, and whilst in Northamptonshire, we decided to recall some of our good moments by returning.
The pub was really busy and I cannot tell you the joy a particular member of your staff brought to our hearts. We didn't think we would be seated, due to it being so busy, but a little angel called Elle was able to find us a table.
Not only was Elle an absolute delight, but she went above and beyond to make our visit special. There were no roast potatoes and no Yorkshire puddings when we went for our meal. The potatoes came out quickly, but there was quite a wait for our Yorkshire puds. In fact, they weren't cooked until after we had finished our meal. However, Elle had agreed that as soon as they were cooked, she would bring them to us! And she didn't let us down, as soon as they were out, she had delivered two hot Yorkshire's straight to our table.
We travelled all the way from Milton Keynes to visit Irthlibgborough, and could have chosen a restaurant anywhere along the way, but this place holds so many precious memories for us, so we so wanted to visit again.
Elle made our visit feel just perfect. We wanted to say a huge "THANK YOU" for her kindness and her fantastic service, she is clearly a huge asset to your team!
T. N.
We wanted to thank Irene for her excellent service throughout our meal. She was both helpful and courteous throughout. My wife has vision difficulties and Irene very kindly took Jill's meal to the table for her whichi was very helpful.
M. B.
Great saviour to our. We where starving and so I went in there yesterday and filled up my plate with a bit too much food but that’s how hungry I was.
Loved the free refills on drinks as well.
Would come back there again.
S. L.
Great service from Elle she was lovely and very attentive. Carvery was amazing and the staff was very fast in replacing food that was gone. Shaun the chef has definitely brought this place back to life
T. o. C.
The food was ok- the beef was quite chewy. Our server was lovely and very attentive. The restaurant could do with thorough clean as the seats were sticky and cobwebs clearly visible on fixtures
C. H.
The food was good and they did bot skimp on their portions - our waitress, Justice, was warm, friendly, and attentive. We left happy, full, and excited to come back another day
C.
Usually really impressed with Toby Carvery but last few times have really missed the mark.
Today we've waited in line for more than 20 minutes due to poor preparation from the kitchen. There wasn't enough meat and they didn't have another one ready which resulted in the line being completely standstill for 20 minutes.
When we were finally served the food was nice and of good value as always. Unfortunately we had to wait another 10-15 mins to collar over one of the staff to order desert and then another 20-30 minutes of waiting.
A lot of other customers were experiencing similar issues and the staff were visibly stressed and panicking. This place definitely needs more staff especially around peak times to avoid this commotion instead of a skeleton crew.
May look elsewhere from now on it's a shame.
R. M.
Always an enjoyable experience 5 star service from Elle our server. Will request to be in her section next time we visit. What a lovely polite and courteous young lady.
l. W.
Food was ok, but Waitress Steph was beautiful! Really nice chatty personality and happy to help! Did a brilliant job for a large table, an all round great experience.
M. W.
The food was good. The service very good. I am always disappointed when I see people returning from the hot plate with a large plate piled high in food. At a time when people are starving around the world and obesity is a serious problem why do so many irresponsible people think it is OK to discard food? The food is very well priced and there's no need to throw loads of it away just because your eyes are poorly calibrated.
b. l.
The atmosphere was inviting,
The food was spectacular and our waitress Eileen was amazing, she was so attentive and kind and made us feel relaxed,
She definitely added the personal touch and it was very appreciated.
D. H.
Great meal, all fresh and piping hot. Good portion of meat. The waitress Steph was very friendly and helpful
S. D.
Excellent meal. Litter in the entrance/sticky tables. Staff very busy... We hadn't book but they found us a table. Thank you.
S. G.
Amazing experience heather and holly were so accommodating, the carvery was to die for all freshly cooked very hot the service was next to none thank you so much for our dining experience keep up the good work 😀
A. F.
Had a free veterans breakfast on armed forces day food was excellent and a great choice staff were all very friendly place was nice and clean will visit again soon
A. B.
Really good traditional British fare for dinner, but poor breakfasts, e.g., leathery bacon. But what sets this place apart is their byzantine management rules.
Although this restaurant uses the same front entrance door to the Travelodge hotel, it is apparently not related to the hotel.
It very much includes however, a pub section. But you can't buy a drink on Sundays if not dining in. You sometimes can't buy a drink anyway because they have run out. The poor staff do their best and are embarrassed to have to tell potential customers the rules and problems.
It always seems understaffed.
The manager replied saying that the place is set out differently on Sundays. I suggest they tell people that before making the trip, or simply put a sign outside. That is why I describe it as byzantine, only the manager knows what is going on.
N. W.
Good food value for money but you need to do something about the queues at the carvery - why not price the meal according to the number of meats chosen so it doesnt prolong the waits for those who know what they want?
C. C.
Came here with the family after many years. Did not disappointed. Food was great, drink was great, dessert was great.
And to top it off BRADLEY the server was lovely. Very engaging, funny and enthusiastic. Nothing was to much of a bother.
G. P.
A decent experience. You know what you are getting and it was exactly as expected. Honest, satisfying and wholesome food. Nice atmosphere for the Sunday we visited and staff welcoming and happy. Simple and essential online booking process.
M. W.
Having dined in repeatedly, this was the 1st time I used the takeaway option. Good sized tubs, full of all of your usual goodies. Boiled veg was tolerably (never good at any carvery) everything else was spot on!
B. B.
we often visit here as the food is great, always hot and the staff are really helpful.
M. L.
Not the best Toby carvery I've been to. Much wider choice at others. Dull and dark interior. Wouldn't go again.
K. S.
Had a nice carvery here, meat was lovely. Service very good
S. S. (.
I've never seen meat or turkey carved paper thin but i did that Day!!. Hence 4 stars, most of carvery meal adequate but I wouldn't go again for a carvery. Staff fabulous and obliging, did us proud. A big thankyou to the staff but will stick to menu in future, not carvery. A last comment, since when does a pub/restaurant run out of ice?, this one did.
J. P.
Just came back from Toby Carvery after going for lunch. We had a Groupon voucher for 2 people so we ordered 2 Carvery meals, one childrens Carvery and a side.
I ordered a Prawn Salad with Ciabatta but when this came the Ciabatta was replaced with 2 slices of white bread. I asked the waitress where the Ciabatta was and she said they probably didn't have any so gave this and apologised. The Prawns were basic but tasted ok due to the sauce and the bottom of the bowl was filled with lettuce. I also had chicken strips with bbq sauce which were tasty.
The Carvery was nice as we were the first few people there after 12 so we were served the freshest food.
Our waitress did well to merged one of my sides into the Groupon deal.
My fresh Orange juice did not taste fresh, it tasted more watered down.
J. P.
Steph has served us twice now, always happy and smiling. Will be returning if anything just because of her! Roast was lovely
l. h.
Was served by a lovely ladie called june.
She was very quick on her toes serving people and was very polite. Food was lovely. Only downfall was there was no ice cream but other than that was a nice meal.
J. W.
Great, reasonably priced carvery. Unlimited soda and good choice of alternative drinks.
Food is always plentiful and with good variety.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a well priced large meal.
A. L.
Great helpful staff, clean and tidy and excellent vegetables. Lovely, enjoyed the lunch. Good place to stop approximately halfway back from Birmingham to London.
N. F.
Great breakfast for the price.
You can't beat £5 all you can eat breakfast! The bacon, sausages and eggs were top drawer (most of the time). But I never could understand why they served Yorkshire pudding and "breakfast" gravy, which is actually just onion gravy. Worth mentioning, hot drinks cosy extra.
A. O.
Fantastic meal, Chef and serving team, simply a brilliant service.
Heather and Hollie an absolute credit to Toby Carvery. Wish we could give 6 stars!
S. W.
Lovely fresh food ! Was dealt with very efficiently by the ladies as you came in! Our waitress June was lovely making sure we were OK while serving our food!!
H. C.
Use to be a really good place to go, but has gone down hill where the staff don't seem interested or even want to be there, no options on food so if you was hoping to have something else rather than carvey then there is no point in you going.
Prices would have to reasonable if more options but I wouldn't pay a lot of money just for just a meal nothing else
I. V.
Rich and tasty breakfast, carvery is good and delicious but without being special. Downside: It seems the windows can‘t be opened in the whole Toby Carvery. Therefore a strange and odd smell inside the facility when on busy evenings.
D. R.
We enjoyed a carvery lunch here. Will return soon. Friendly organised staff.
Food was plenty and very tasty
J. O.
Was a brilliant service to be fair, we had a waiter named Brandon who did a brilliant job even with all the joking and haggling we put him through, didn't skip a beat the entire time I'd definitely reccomend stopping by if you get a chance for a bite to eat!!
k. f.
Very nice, we popped in for a mid week carvery and got a friendly welcome, well looked after and a nice meal for a reasonable price thank you.
C. B.
The roast was hot and very fresh, great choice of meats and veggies, with veggie gravy. All staff friendly and efficient.
D. S.
Lovely place, staff are helpful and buffet has different options for kids and adults that u wouldn't usual think for a roast dinner, they now charge if u want a bowl which was weird but still nice food
D. W.
Quality meal, happy friendly helpful staff. The only place to go for a roast. We came from 20 miles away!
l. b.
We had a lovely lady june as our waiter today she was amazing couldn't be any more helpful and welcoming.
Thank you.
J. S.
Its ok. Enjoyed it. Nothing special. Ive had better carverys, but good value for money I suppose.
L. T.
Amazing service from Steph! She was so welcoming and friendly and really looked after us!
M. B.
Best carvery in Northampton
Brussels and Cauli cheese undercooked a little - why is this so common when you eat out nobody I know likes undercooked veg - but the rest spot on
H. D.
Meat portions are terrible and veg is watery. Only saving grace was the Server Elle who was very helpful polite
T. M.
Always superb carvery with lots of variety. Sadly ice cream machine not working when we went or would have given them 5 stars..
C. W.
Lovely food and staff
Just forgot to pre book a table
Luckily only had to wait an hour till we could get a table,so had a drink 🍷 in bar till a table became available and had a 50% off voucher by email we used for meal and drink
Will go again soon
J. C.
Fantastic staff very welcoming food as always fresh and well prepared also tasted fantastic would highly recommend. I felt there was exceptional value for money will definitely visit again in the future
R. B.
Had breakfast here for the first time today .
Walked in to a very morbidly attitude from wait staff .
No customer services at all from all three that were on duty . Found items myself but was told quite grumpily that there is only decaf coffee.
Found was Standardish but can say sausages were delicious. Food even though on hot plate wasn’t hot but warm , value for money ok I suppose, two breakfasts and one tea and one coffee £13.49p.
D. W.
Carvery was amazing .So was the staff Shaun the chef and Elle, Thanks guys i will be back for more.
D. P.
Very nice Sunday lunch, all hot and fresh. Can't ask for more.
C. R.
Great place to eat, food was fresh and a good selection, and staff super friendly...
S. B.
Always look forward to meeting up with our group every month and been looked after so well by Vicki. She makes us all so welcome and feeling special.
K. U.
Superb roast dinners. The meats are cooked to perfection, and there is a large selection of vegetables to suit any palate. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy a roast dinner.
B. T.
Brilliant service and food was excellent, we will defiantly return.
D. S.
Breakfast service was very busy. Food was still hot and well cooked. Would recommend booking if going
Soft drinks are very expensive in my opinion
S. G.
A great welcome, decent portions and plenty of choice on the carvery. Happy family with full bellies.
S. J.
Service, food and price was excellent! Nothing needs improving.
E. G.
Steph our waitress tonight was amazing: very attentive and so good at communicating with our 3 year old. Food was good as always
P. J.
Food excellent, apart from far too much mustard on my son's sandwich...table service slow & ill informed (were told it could take 45 minutes to make a sandwich!)
J.
Very good value for money. The food isn't Michelin star obviously but for £5.50 it's a bargain
B.
Excellent service and food best pork we've ever had evening was as it said .
V. B.
This would have got another star, but lately my friends and I have noticed that they are given smaller meat portions, even if you upgrade still get the same unless you complain. That being said staff are always nice and friendly, even when rushed off there feet. Also for the past few months menu as been limited lots of things missing.. And on bank holiday Monday they advertised lamb, it was the reason that we booked.. The sign was on display on the day, but when we went we were told they didn't have it..
S. F.
First time for a long time but absolutely spot on nice friendly staff and the food was excellent will definitely be back 👌
A. A.
Food was good, could of been hotter but I'm ok with that.staff were attentive.
H. W.
Absolutely incredible! Everyone is so friendly and always so helpful. I will always come back! Thank you everyone 💗

E. 1.
Great meal and amazing service from our waitress Steph. 🙂
L. G.
Back to normal service at last. You can dish up your own veggies again. Back to the same quality it used to be. We were loosing hope with it as for the last few visits the food quality wasn't the same. The staff now seem happier and less stressed and this has transferred over to the food quality too.
R. L.
Visited on a quiet Tuesday lunchtime first time visiting this particular restaurant. We had the carvery food was ok the veg was quite dried up by the heat lamps this was at 12pm so not sure how often they are swapped out bit unappetising to be honest Yorkie puds were really dry and brittle not great. Some of the desserts were unavailable and no icecream at all. Service was good didn't have to wait long, fairly quiet but was nice to be spaced out across the restaurant nice and private. Would definately visit again hope food will be better next time maybe because it was quiet food was sitting around to long spoiling
A. T.
Brilliant service and amazing food 👌
R. H.
Nice food good service

Phenomenal food as always and service was great - to the waiter who served us, hope your training is going well :)
c. p.
A little disappointed this time, the food was up to its normal standard but the restaurant was let down by how short staffed they were. This impacted on all areas from the poor wait staff who were literally having to run to keep up to the kitchen staff who were being forced to work in customer facing areas with little or no training. I won't let it put me off going again but if it were to continue longer term the. It might become an issue. Otherwise good selection of meat and vegetables. Staff in masks and a wheelchair accessible entrance.
R. M.
I've always enjoyed my visits to Toby Carvery both in Milton Keynes (years ago) and more recently in Northampton. The ambiance is perfect. I have always enjoyed their breakfast deal and the mid week carvery. I have nothing but praise for the chefs for fantastic food. I would recommend the food from this great outfit to anyone who is not looking for a la carte menu. The bottomless drinks are always perfect especially summer time.
However, I was a little bit disappointed in this most recent visit. The nature of my work involves introducing patients to as close to normal everyday life without constantly excluding them from simple pleasures that everyone should be entitled to. Because of certain behaviour issues, I try to find quiet times to visit places. I introduced myself and stated the nature of my visit, which was to facilitate a lunch for my autistic friend. I specifically stated that it has to be in a quiet corner, to avoid any incidents of displays of violence which I know my client to have, especially when he is around mothers with children. The staff obliged, we inspected the choice of table, and it seemed suitable. I got my guy and we went to our table, no issues up to this point. However, right in the middle of our lunch the same staff member who I had such great care to explain all this, for the safety of other patrons, my client and the safety of myself and my colleague, the same member of staff shows a young mother with a baby to a table right next to ours in a restaurant that is almost empty, completely disregarding our earlier conversation and agreement. So in the interest of everyone’s safety we left right in the middle of a meal we were enjoying. Such a pity.
We'll be back, but hopefully with a better understanding of our needs will deliver a 5 star service.
S. L.
Very pleasant lunch fully recommend with friendly staff.
D. C.
Toaster was moved so while you was waiting for your toast breakfast was getting cold should of been like it was before toast machine first
A. G.
Have to say most welcomed by all staff really lovely experience, wish we received this welcome in more places 😊 xx
T. A.
Lovely food, restaurant was very quiet at 7.00pm for a Thursday evening

CERTAINLY ONE OF THE VERY BEST HAVING TOURED THE MIDLANDS AND WALES OVER MANY YEARS.
The attentive Staff went out of Their way to ensure that the Meals and Service werevexceptional.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED....WELL DONE.
C. H.
Great food and lovely staff 5 star
L. R.
Lovely food. Very well organised with the covid restrictions. The only thing was we arrived at 3.00pm and was back home by 4.15 never felt so rushed in our lives. No sooner had we sat was ushered to get our food, not even had time to swallow the last mouth full and was pressured about dessert!!!!
s. h.
3rd visit, always good, team are always on it.
M. P.
Irene was so lovely and attentive , great service and food
L. A.
Lovely Carvery with lots of choice, friendly staff and a great atmosphere!
D. W.
Quite a way to travel for us to get here but 110% worth the journey. I'd much rather travel an extra 30 mins!!! Carvery exceptional and incredibly friendly and helpful staff.
R. B. (.
Booked a table and it was cancelled at last moment...
Was ok when we finally got to eat there 👍
S. R.
It's ok, food luke warm. Limitless refill soft drinks expensive if you are only having one glass.
n. u.
Well organised after reopening. Plates are served by the chefs and walked to the table by waiting staff, so as to still adhere to table service rules. Is what it was before. Younger members of staff need a lesson in public facing talk as opposed to treating customers like cattle and being rude about them to other members of staff. Not appreciated.
All in all, cheap and edible, well organised.
Toilets need addressing :)
G. B.
We only travel to Northampton to visit my husband’s daughter and I have to say Toby is always on the list. We have never been disappointed. We booked for 3pm and got there for 2.30 we were happy to wait in the bar but were seated right away. It was very busy and we did have to wait to go up but it was worth the wait. The staff were very friendly and helpful. 100% would come again.
J. M.
I always like coming here but because of the restrictions put in place because of covid it didn't seem to have it's relaxed atmosphere. Also the fact the fact that you could no longer serve yourself and carry your own plate to your table. Didn't make me feel at ease. But I do understand the reasons for this.
L. C.
Lovely pub and food delicious and well priced. Bella the waitress was absolutely adorable. She will go far. Would definitely go there again.
S. F.
Went for all you can eat buffet Sunday roast
C. H.
Nice place. The staff could do with some more training.
A. P.
Very efficient and a lovely roast dinner
C. B.
Good food, good service, and very polite staff.
M. S.
3 of us decided last minute to go Sunday evening about 7pm. As expected was very busy. As we hadn't booked we were offered to eat in the bar area which was fine. Staff on front desk were lovely. Bar staff helpful. The two chefs serving the meat were friendly and very generous with portions.
However.. the serving counter was absolutely covered in food that customers had dropped. The floor along the serving counter was also littered with food and slippery. The serving spoons were sticky and covered in food (and who knows what else). The area to the side where you get gravy/sauces etc was equally filthy.
I understand it was busy. However during busy periods I would imagine there needs to be a member of staff designated to keeping the food area clean . I have witnessed at many all inc establishments where there is a continuous system of cleaning and changing utensils in serving areas.
The food was great and as said the staff and service was perfectly acceptable but really guys.. cleanliness is king when it comes to restaurants.
Sadly we wont be rushing back.
L. M.
Absolutely fab, I went a little while ago here with some friends and miss it! Fab food for a really good price and helpful staff 😊
C. M.
The person on the carvery needs a personality transplant not a nice person was left shaking after being shouted at for asking for a plate as didn't want meat only vegetables I did complain and the nice manager did talk to him well I hope she did the server was very nice girl can't say I would go again though
B. H.
During covid measures: food lovely, and value for money. Nice down to earth and friendly table service. Carvery servers seemed a bit overworked, or something. Are these guys OK? Management: check on 'em 👍 ♥️. Lovely meal
R. Y.
Good food but the services has been lacking on the previous visits
D. T.
Great meal, friendly staff, nice night but absolutely ruined cause there was no ice cream available
K. B.
Plenty of room staff very attentive but our dinner was luke warm. I ordered turkey and received 2 very slim slices and a small slice of beef. My seven Yr old grandson eats more meat than that
B. D.
So nice to revisit after such a long time, had the Carvery which ticked a number of boxes. So nice to see a member of staff who worked at the long gone Round Spinney branch.

Went there mid week during a visit to family. Service was pretty slow. We waited over 10 minutes to order drinks. We had the carvery meal. I thought the poor pig died in vain. Utterly tasteless. The veg was pretty much stone cold. It was not an enjoyable eating experience, but I guess that's what these places are about. Lowish costs and no pretence of quality. When it came to paying, another long wait ensued.
G. L.
Always a good experience. We use this Toby quite regularly.
L. B.
I thought the vegetables today looked 'slightly worse for wear', the peas looked very dry, roast potatoes took crispness to a different level! Carrots looked well past their best. Highlight of the meal was the pud, very nice and plenty of custard.
F. V.
Friendly staff, nice meat and veggies. Lots of old people
G. I.
Ok. Food was cool. The server took ages to come to the hatch and I'd eaten my meal before my veg arrived. Was ok. Not up to usual Toby standards
K. M.
Service was good and so was the adult food - large portions of meat with plenty of choice for veg, and you could go back to fill up on spuds, etc. Child portion, however, was small. Only a few chicken nuggets and one side, not sure if drink was included as ours had a tap water.
Also, small choice on the menu.
Would recommend if you all would like a carvery.
R. M.
Accommodated well for young kids. Lovely and friendly
B. R.
Our server was Ellie very lovely experience

Ok I was going to give this 3 star's but after thinking about it I'm going to give it 4.
Would be 5 but will come to that in a bit.
So why was I going to give Toby a 3 star and the simple answer is the food looked dry. So why did I give it the extra star and honestly it was because the food tasted ok much better then it looked.
So why not 5 star simple answer is down to the meat size given. Literally it was cut so thine it was like sandwich meat. And to top it on one slice of each that was no bigger then sandwich meats you get in the square Pack's. To be totally honest I thought about actually leaving the food and just paying for the drinks.
Also we drove over a hour to get to this Toby Carvery after making a phone booking only to be told we was not on the system. It was only by chance I received a text message saying
(( We will hold your table for a further 5 minutes-hope to see you soon ))
Otherwise I don't know if we would of actually got a table even though the restaurant had maybe 4 people in there at most.
I'd love to go there again but with with the meat portion size you. Get I really don't think I'd bother a roast dinner should actually have some meat on the plate. Not a wafer thin slice.
So overall I'm disappointed in my experience. At the Toby the staff was ok and the food was good. But like I said I actually want some meat with my roast dinner
s. t.
Was not to bad had to wait for carvery
Then just warm food
E. W.
My first ever visit to a Toby Carvery. Loved it. Fairly busy Sunday, I think booking is quite essential. We got our table straight away, service was great. The food was fresh and I really liked it a lot. Most tender turkey ever. Will definitely come again.
G. J.
Whilst the food is good, very disorganised for breakfast and having to tell staff that the bread, butter and sauce had ran out isn’t good.
L. W.
Delicious and worth the money. Lovely treat for the family. One way system was like a maze on exit but maybe that's just me. Plenty of parking and reservations taken in advance or turn up and take your chances as we did.
T. B.
Service was good. Meat was ok but vegetables needed a bit longer as cauliflower cheese was hard and Yorkshire puddings looked like pancakes.
N. L.
Our fault did not book and attempted dinner on off chance and was full
P. S.
Very nice place to eat helpful staff would recommend it
P. W.
We had the carvery but was disappointed with the beef as it was very tough.
The waitress brought us the wrong drinks .
We ordered dessert and my Eton mess was served on a plate there was nothing to it ...just a dollop of cream 3 pieces of meringue, 1 small strawberry....never again.
J. B.
The 4 of us had a lovely hot meal which had been cooked splendidly. Not one thing was cold . Service was excellent as wasthe atmosphere.there was no problem in moving our table to a quieter spot on explaining a member of our party found it easier to hear because of wearing hearing aids. Would definately return
W. F. C.
Meat was a little dry but overall food was great. Smiling staff would make a tremendous difference behind the food counter.
M. W.
Got a table booked at 12.00 and was looking forward to fresh meat and limited queues, how wrong we we! Turkey looked like last night's as was very dry and died up and Gammon was very similar. All veg was good hot and fresh. This place is so busy in the queues but half the tables were empty. Such a shame as it's the only Toby left in the area and limited carvery choices in Northampton. Usually give 5 stars but cannot anymore for Sundays, best to wait and go in the week now
C. P.
Missed the carvery during lockdown, eating out again feels like normality is returning. The meat is excellent and the veg varied - peas, carrots, green beans, vegetable bake and cauliflower. They still dish up all the food for you and carry it back to your table. They seem to have had lessons in how to pile it up on the plate and do a far better job than I could. Booking essential.
M. T. p.
Tables were well separated, chef serves all dishes at the carvery, server got all our drinks. Felt very well organised in this Covid world. Food as fab as ever, server, Chris was awesome, perfect example of customer service!
R. V.
Ok but the person behind the food really, really didn't want to be there and was literally throwing the food on the mostly on the plate. But quality and quantity were up to scratch.
S. C.
Service took a while to get drinks even though it wasn't too busy. Food was ok. Group of very loud blokes sat in the middle but that can't be helped. Get what you pay for really
T. M. A.
Lovely Carvery, do go early and book at early convenience, to not disappoint. Good selection of meats and vegetables, and be ready to get your stomachs filled to the brim. The staff are friendly, and very knowledgeable, regarding dietary requirements. If we could give more than five stars we would do.
R. L.
Do not visit during COVID restrictions...or ever...
The buffet breakfast was served for us but I think it was served by someone who has never eaten a full English. Brown sauce was ladled on the side of the plate and drenched my toast. The toast was placed first and then covered by everything else...the food was mediocre but what can you expect from a chain? The staff were weird and the place didn't feel clean
O. W.
Toby carvery is Toby carvery, relatively cheap but always a good enough quality! The only two down sides were the lack of certain meat due oven problems and lack of puddings due to supplier problems. However our waitress was pleasant and attentive.
J. D.
Came here yesterday for dinner after having been to the quays which wasnt great service really, and I have to say the customer service was spot on, had an enjoyable meal out, my 3 year old daughter was with us and the staff were so attentive and friendly. We had an issue with one of our meals nothing major and straight away they sorted it and we didn't even have to ask before they took it off the bill! We left money for a tip as the service was just so genuine, they were all working so hard very busy place and hot! But they still had a smile on there face especially for the children. My daughter loved the gentleman there unfortunately didn't catch his name but he was so lovely to her. All the staff were amazing never to busy to serve us. Will definitely come back food is lovely to! 😊
D. W.
I dont normally write reviews but felt the need too today.
I attended today (29/12) with my 3 children all under 4 and had a fantastic roast. Every Toby I have gone too staff are friendly but seemed extra friendly here - and the food was excellent.
Abit out of the way for me as I only went in as was passing on way home but will make sure I pass through again one day.
Thank for Toby East Hunsbury from my 3 children and myself
P. k.
I love this place normally but this visit was a little frustrating...we booked in advance for 2pm, the next available reservation. Once we arrived there was no table free promptly asked to go to the bar to get a drink, only to find only 1 bar member to serve drinks and food with a waiting line of families! We also kept our ears peeled for a table. Another half an hour we finally got served but still no table, I asked the young girl whilst she was chatting to friends of hers if a table was free yet, she declared she had shouted my name. We did not hear her shout any names just numbers but we had not received a number for a table yet. So why did she not think to take note what we looked like and come to find us? We were lucky we asked otherwise we would have completely missed our actual booking! We had our child with us too. Our child was very hungry. When we were taken to the table it had leftovers of glasses etc needing a clean and moving of tables and chairs..I was not impressed but slightly understood as they were so busy. When we did eat the food it was amazing as usual and one staff did check on us and looked after us (European accent, blonde plait) well done to her.
L. T.
You need to book on a Sunday, tasty food & great place, sometimes there are long queues but on last visit it was fine.
Was much better last time as they stopped people eating their lunch in the bar, which makes the place a bit messy and extra busy, with nowhere to just sit & enjoy a drink. Maybe this was due to supplier problems on the day so they were turning away casual diners.
Still a very nice restaurant, good choice of carvery and staff all seem very pleasant & helpful. We will go again
J. B.
Our server Irene was absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Excellent customer service!
K. G.
We arrived just after midday today (Sunday) and asked for a table for three. They were fully booked in the restaurant but said we could sit in the bar area and still have a carvery. So that's what we did. We were all git starving and had only had a light nibble on a biscuit before coming, that turned out to be good news for us! There were five different meats to choose from, the biggest yorkshire puddings(!!) roast potatoes, stuffing, cauliflower cheese and all vegetables you want with a roast. All cooked amazingly. We stacked our plates high and returned to the table... Challenge accepted! Game on! We all won! I've never eaten so much in one sitting. Poor car struggled getting us back but we made it home safe. I don't live this way but I'll be making sure I book here the next time I come up. Staff were busy busy and still smiley. Can't fault it. You should go, just avoid mud January cos that's when I'll be back and there might not be room😊
P. T. N.
It's OK it's a very average toby restaurant.
A. V.
Martin is a fantastic staff member, really knows how to deal with people, and makes the visit memorable. The carvery is first rate, with plenty of choice. At busy periods such as Sunday lunchtimes there can be long queues. Good choice of desserts available, and the pricing is reasonable. Ample parking on site. Can't fault it for a carvery meal.
N. J.
Went here on a Saturday evening with my partner & 2 children. Restaurant was very busy , but we didn't have to wait too long for a table.
The que was very very long. But the food was delicious! Worth the wait. And Martin the waiter was amazing such a lovely man.
C. H.
Food is quite good although some veg was undercooked, but is absolutely hectic, you can go without booking but you will have to wait ages for a seat and that's in the bar side away from carvery. Staff are so grumpy and rude though chefs are however a bit better mannered. Family friendly, although didnt see any baby changing places. Table service would make it better. Service needs to be made clear if you're a new guest.
Dirty plates and glasses on every table customers having to move them. Would probably go again but will book ahead.
M. P.
Very pleasant, friendly staff
G. P.
Nice pub for a carvery, not as good as the wife's, but then you don't have to wash up after. There are a good selection of meats, potatoes and vegetables that are replaced with a new topped up dish very regularly. It can get quite busy at times but they also offer home delivery so if you don't like going out you are sorted!
P. P.
Arrived after eight on the evening on a Thursday.
We didn't have to wait for a table and were asked about drinks as soon as we sat down.
The carvery was still good and all you can eat.
We had good service and good food.
All in all value for money.
W. W.
Very good food, very tasty but not too warm unfortunately, but fuelled us to carry on our journey
F. M.
Great service. Made to feel very welcome. The Roast dinners are so home made and delicious.
S. G.
You get a lot of food. Staff were again very helpful. No problems with having a working dog. Clean toilets. No nasty smells.
It's a shame there are some people who think they can order food and then try and leave without paying. Which is disgraceful.
r. t.
Stopped here for breakfast on our travels, couldn't go wrong really, cheap food and plenty of it in the buffet style layout.
A. D.
Shame the refillable drinks machine wasn't working as syrup had ran out and staff did nothing about it meaning we only had one drink and paid for refills. The food was pleasant and plentiful. Don't get to come here much but atmosphere seemed nice and staff were friendly but run off their feet. Fair price for our meal and a good place to catch up with family.
R. S.
Good food .good service. Happy friendly staff.
D. S.
We got a table after 30 min late but when we got food it was stone cold the waitress apologised and said we could get a discount ,50p that was it
R. R.
Breakfast starts at 0700 and is a buffet style eat as much as you like and is in my opinion good value. The carvery was ok but they scrimp on the meat you get, the veg was fine for me but some of the others thought not, and only get the soft drinks refill if you're drinking a lot of it.
V. A.
Always enjoy a Toby carvery dinner as the food is great, this visit was quite busy and we hadn't booked but we were still seated upon arrival. Less than an hour later a few minutes after eating the manager came and asked us to move to the bar if we werent having more food so they could have the table. I could understand if we had been there for some time but we had only just finished our main course! A little bit disappointed but won't stop me from going again.
M. C.
Nice food. Accommodated our group in the pub area as the dining area was full. The beef however was very fatty, probably half of it. This does seem to be the norm for Toby Carver's beef joints these days.
R.
Pretty much a standard affair where the carvery and multiple refillable soft drinks choices are concerned. Always a spread of the usual vegetables cooked properly, although sometimes a little dry from being under lights a long time, something which is again pretty standard for a carvery.
Prices are OK, quality and quantity can be sometimes mediocre with meat being cut extra thin and scraping the bone. We witnessed staff doing this and only bringing a fresh load of meat out when they were about to close the carvery, this in an attempt to enable staff to take the joints home with them rather than let customers have proper cuts. Unfortunately this happens a lot in this chain and there's not much anyone can say about it as complaints of this nature are never addressed.
If you want a filling meal after a hard day then go grab it, with your plaster dust covered Caterpillar boots and hi-vis striped black work trousers. Also suitable for large parties of people if you don't mind a common traditional and acceptably cooked carvery.
I especially liked the roast potatoes as they have trays of this and potato bits and scraps that have gone nice and crispy. The meat this time was OK but when eating the turkey it was already cold and a bit watery. The pork was OK though and everything else was of an acceptable standard. It wasn't perfect by any means but by 8pm I was about ready to eat anything including a scabby donkey.
L.
Food was good, a bit cold by the time I got it back to my tablet.
I recommend if you want a table for a Sunday to book one online. We sat at 12:30 and there was no que for the food, the que at 13:00 was longer.
My husband enjoyed the unlimited soft drinks and my daughter enjoyed dispensing them herself.
Waitress service was good but slowed down a bit as the place got busier
K.
Irene the server was so lovely she made our visit so pleasant will definitely be back again food was lovely and staff were nice 👍🏻
B. W.
Great staff but food was not good. Long wait for food off of the menu. Serious maintenance of the building needs attention.
A. B.
Came here for a breakfast with work colleagues. One of the best breakfasts I have had. The bacon was crispy and the sausages were quality. I didn't try the Yorkshire pudding and gravy but like the option!
R. N.
Lovely atmosphere. Extremely friendly staff. We went there as a group for a breakfast. Food all good BUT no good to vegetarians. Take note. Yorkies and potatoes all has bacon in them, no vegetarian sausages. Staff were brilliant and specially made some cheesy chips for the "No bacon eating " 8 year old in our group and refunded his £3.49. Thank you very much. P.s. Get a rotating toaster...the small domestic ones no good. Staff was so accommodating/helpful and concerned for the child when a glass of drink was bumped over by accident. Thank you very much. Would recommend it highly.
S. A.
We visited at peak time on a Sunday and was clear that a reservation would be beneficial, but having said that, the staff seated us at a table in the bar, where we bought drinks and paid for the carvery. Minimal waiting for the food and it was certainly one of the better carvery meals we've had. We will definitely go back; though we will make a booking, next time.
C. C.
Every good service and wonderful atmosphere. Cheaper meals though the week in the four carvery meats as much you can eat.
m. b.
Easy to book, table ready for us on arrival and waitress looked after us very well. There were 5 if us and we all enjoyed our meals and drinks. We'll be going again and recommended.
P. F.
Thoroughly enjoy our meals every time we visit Toby Carvery East. Staff are always friendly and helpful.
N. E.
Visited at very short notice as the one in my hometown of Milton Keynes closed down. It was very busy, but the staff said we could order from the normal menu if we didn't mind being seated in the bar. This wasn't a problem as the bar tables and seats were the same as the main area. Service was very fast despite being busy (we had food and drinks within 10 minutes of arrival!), and the staff were very helpful. Food was up to the usual Toby standard, can't fault the visit at all.
t. e.
Carvery was good quality and big portions. Good quick service from the friendly staff.
A. D.
This was my first visit as I was up from Birmingham visiting family and as it was Armed Forces Day all Toby Carvery's were offering free breakfast for serving or ex members of the armed forces and my brother in law was in the Navy so we partook in this amazing offer along with breakfasts for my sister & I & the selection was great along with the quality of food&bottomless drinks! Definitely worth a visit. Going to try carvery lunch time next time.
P. J.
Went there one lunchtime this week for the carvery. Excellent food and very reasonably priced. I polished mine off rather quickly and could have had more. Great service from the staff as well. Recommended
D. J.
Staff always so polite helpful and friendly, food out of this world, would highly recommend this place to try out,we've never been disappointed.
M. Y. D.
We booked our Christmas Eve Lunch at Toby Carvery. We were given a very friendly welcome, taken to our table for two, not too faraway from the Carvery Service. We ordered our tipple which arrived swiftly.
We walked towards The Carvery, A very young Chef was the Carver of the joints on offer “Turkey, Pork, Ham, Gammon & Beef.
Very small portions of our selected meats were placed on our plates. We wanted freshly cooked Yorkshire Puddings- instead the server gave us Hard Cold Yorkshire Pudds. We politely refused to accept. And he became irritated and thrusted the plates in our hands.
Finally, to end our experience- The Lasting Taste of our Christmas Eve Lunch Cold Food, Cold Premises but best tasting tipple.
No we won’t be booking Our Christmas Lunches At Toby Carvery East Hunsbury.
O. M. G.
I like the Toby because of the unlimited breakfast its worth the money the only issue that I have found is that the Yorkshire puddings are very dry. The staff are doing a great job during these hard times but like I said its worth the money
T.
Toby, Eat Hunsbury, is always busy and food is good. Standard chain Carney affair but I've never had a problem with service, meat or serving sizes. Veg isn't always fantastic and can be dry. Go early, great for kids
S. K.
Managed to get a table for 2 on a Sunday without booking so that's very handy . Was busy but we'll spaced out . Food was nice and staff are very friendly
J. O.
They do a fabulous breakfast help yourself style. The quality is of a high standard sausages yummy and mushrooms in butter oh yes lets not forget breakfast gravy, never knew it existed. No more supermarket breakfast for me will go here everytime
A. T.
Brilliant service and amazing food 👌
A. K.
Food is good - especially if you arrive before the carvery has been decimated by disrespectful clients. Yorkshire puddings are really good...pity the staff are lacking. Stood for ages waiting to be meeter and greeted and then for a drink order to be taken...
s. w.
Our first time at Toby. I doubt we will be back. Food was under seasoned and quite bland.. Slow service but not the waitresses fault as it looked understaffed. Woman's toilets were very dirty. Soiled toilet seats. On the plus side. Staff was very friendly. And the price is very reasonable.
N. L.
Love Toby. Delicious carvery and wonderful staff. Highly recommended!
D. S.
British carvery as you would expect Sunday every day here.Turkey pork or beef if quantity is you thing they offer massive portions.Good selection of desserts what's not to like?Well the toilets actually why do they not value investing modern clean loos.Generally they are old very tired please invest in better sanitation Toby.
D. S.
Easy to access from the junction 15 off the M1 which is why I chose it. However the entrance was hard to distinguish as it is shared by Toby Carvery.
Rooms were clean and bed comfortable. Receptionist was friendly which made a difference. Only downside is there's no lift. The receptionist did offer to help with the luggage to our room which was kind, but we did miss the convenience of having a lift.
S. A.
I'm a fan of the Toby breakfasts. Not so much a fan of the lack of alternative for gluten free customers, but at least Toby will tell you what you can't have, at all. Times of the day. As for the roasts, (does, anyone 0eruse the other options?) 😊 veg and pots generally varied in choice. The meats are nicely cooked. Good economy option, wherever you see the sign.
H. S.
4 roasts to choose from and plenty of vegetables and types of potato dishes to choose from. Good value carvery. Had trouble with the gas for drinks that night so only bottled drinks available but we weren't too worried about that.
S. Y.
Good meat however the vegetables could have been fresher. Brilliant staff, we're able to answer most questions however we're unaware of the new legal requirement of supplying a paper copy of nutritional values for the food served on the premises.
I. S.
Really nice carvery, waiting staff very friendly. Good value
L. I.
Usual Toby service, or lack thereof. Food, however, was very good. Went for breakfast and waited several minutes before a member of staff appeared to take our money. Never seen Yorkshire pudding and gravy on a breakfast menu before, yorkie was a worthy addition though.
E. G. C.
Had a good time with good food. The turnover of customers is high and the staff do a good job of keeping the place clean and tidy. Few incorrect orders, coffee instead of tea simple and quickly corrected mistakes.
B. G.
Nothing wrong with food and the staff they were absolutely great, but there assistant manager ‘bonie’ or however it’s spelt, that’s has appeared out of no where is absolutely arrogant and nasty, I went in to Toby carvery the other day and it was jam packed, there was a fairly large line of people wanting to be served at the bar but there was 1 lovely lady on the bar all by herself( I don’t know of her name but she has the short purple/red hair) the assistant manager knew she was on her own went behind the bar to whisper something in her ear looked at everybody in the line and left her on her own again! As I work in customer services and in a pub myself I understand the stress you feel when it’s busy but my manager would make sure no matter what he was doing to come and help if it’s busy! Because that’s what GOOD manager’s do!
I later hear from a few people that witnessed it, that today 14/12/19 that another lovely lady with the blonde hair this time was left alone again on a busy time behind the bar! Once the bar had quietened down she went to bathroom in a rush so she could get back to serving. From personal experience I know exactly how she feels and she is doing absolutely nothing wrong!! Then I later hear that he shouted in-front of customers at this member of staff just because she needed to use the bathroom!! But if he was to make and effort to help his staff there would be no mistake or no problems with her or anyone else going to the bathroom!
So after all that in my opinion I do NOT think he should be assistant manager at all, or even be anything to do with the Toby carvery team!!
C. S.
Didn't have much time but as this team were so efficient, we were able to enjoy a lovely meal within 30 minutes. Particularly enjoyed the roasties and also the mac n cheese, which was a new item to me on a Toby carvery. Yum! 😀
J. P.
Very very busy when we went even after booking for 4. Only 1 person on carvery therefore over 30 mins spent waiting to be served. Also ordered 2 burgers off the menu. At first came with just a bun with beef and an onion chutney as the "burger sauce" with a yorkshire pudding (not as described), then was replaced with mushrooms in the burger and a pig in blanket on top (still not what was written on the menu). Fish meal was good overall; could get vegetables from carvery without queueing. Very few front of house staff for the amount of customers, not handled well although maybe that is reflected in the price...
M. M.
Good bar, not too noisy. Drinks are on the pricey side but many cocktails available. Nite, if you 're a larger sized individual then you will have trouble fitting between table and seats in the booths.
j. r.
Food is great....except desert very small icecream portions compared to other branches. Drink prices are ridiculous here too..and one member of staff should be sacked but I won't snitch as pleased he wasn't waiting on us
A. O.
I may just be a big fan of a roast dinner but I think it's great here. I'm vegetarian so it's great to have the option of no meat but extra veg and potatoes, it actually makes it a lot cheaper as well to do it this way. They have vegetarian gravy as well so it is just a standard roast even for me.
a. d.
The Saturday evening we visited unfortunately the roasting ovens which they use to dry out and cremate the meat to a point where it could be used to provide grip in tyres or shoes had broken down so the only dishes on offer in their famous carvery was gammon or some very dodgy-looking chicken. There was very little of either so it was being sliced with huge precision. The vegetables were up to the usual disappointing standard of all Toby carveries.
We were part of a large group, otherwise I would never have chosen this "restaurant".
I had to feel sorry for the staff who had to keep apologising to all the customers, but really, these places are very mediocre even when at their best...and they only vary when the ovens break down.
A. B.
First visit to this Toby Carvery, with family. We all decided to try the Sunday carvery option, and thoroughly enjoyed it, very tasty, lots of choice, both meat and vegetables plenty of variety. Staff are friendly and helpful too. Looking forward to going again. 😊
R. D.
Fine breakfast. Eat all you want Proper belly buster
S. W.
We had this as part of an offer. The food was lovely and as you can go straight up and get it straight away no waiting around. They have added more choice to the vegetables and the selection is really good. Best to avoid sundays as the que is massive and unless you book a table early in the week you've got no hope of getting a table.
A. W.
I haven't been here for quite some time as it wasnt very nice, but i thought id give it a whirl after 5 yrs me and my partner got xl plates for the carvery and i was super suprised, it was really nice all the meats what we e cooked well, the yorkshires weren't over cooked they were perfect, the only down fall was the mash potato it felt like it have undercooked chunks of potato in it, but the carrot and sweed mash was lovely, the staff behind the bar was abit slow next time i'll pay using the Toby App, but deffinatly cheap enough to pop in for a quick Roast, also they do take away Roast! Nice when im working sundays 😊
J. S.
Covid seems to have taken over customer service! I found some plastic in my food and seemed I had to argue with the manager who looked like he'd just got out of school, scruffy and shirt hanging out!
C. S.
Food was very warm and absolutely spot on.
M. D.
There is 3 different meats on the menu, there is Turkey, Beef and pork, there is a good selection of vegetables available.
The hygiene standards are very good.
There is big car park.
Prices for food and drink are very reasonable.
I would recommend a visit.
g. w.
Food very cooked just right. Lovely. You just need another man carving the meat up. Guy did really well under all the pressure of so many waiting to be soured. Rather him that me and I am a cook in a busy outdoor centre.
C. H.
Typical Toby carvery.Good amount of food though.
R. H.
We've used toby's before but somewhere else. the staff weren't very helpful compared to the leading to table or walking us around like we're used too. Food was great, but generally think the unlimited filter tea and coffee isn't worth the £2.09
C. H.
Went here last Sunday with the family. The atmosphere of the place is incredible. Quick and friendly service from the bar. The food is fresh. Overall good place to take the family for a nice meal out.
S. P.
Staff are always adaptable and friendly it does get busy booking helps. Carvery is what it says and good choice of extras . the all u can eat breakfast for it's price is good but there is only hot food as such some all u can eat offer yogurts fruit etc etc ... But are dearer. So good for.it's price.lots of diff styles of egg etc. Refill drinks available extra.
J. C.
Although the service was pleasant and the food was ok and generally it was clean, they refused to accept a voucher that had been provided by the company and so the meal was more expensive than it should have been. It was very packed with people and the queue for the carvery was badly managed.
E. A.
Mains were good as usual. As it is my birthday I had a desert I chose choc fudge cake with fresh whipped cream but it was squirty cream which was horrible and the cake was a bit stale and over microwaved
M. M.
We stayed in the Travel Lodge on the 20th April and had breakfast in Toby Carvery the next Morning. Great Breakfast and value for money. But the biggest recommendation is the honest staff. I left my purse on the table and it was hours later when I got home that I realised. Can't thank you enough for being vigilant and looking after it for me. Not sure which staff member found it but a huge thank you to whoever it was. Keep up the good work.
G. B.
We had some people ordering from the menu and most having the carvery.
The timing was fantastic and we all ate together.
Everyone enjoyed their meals and the waiter was brilliant and very entertaining.
M. T.
In comparison with other Toby's
This one was disappointing small portion of meat. And gravy was cold. Really disappointed.

Cheap and cheerful, great value, good choice. Unfortunately many of the customers are miserable and looking for a reason to complain.
Breakfast for a fiver with Yorkshire pudding and gravy, what more could you wish for?

Food was great. Very quiet and covid measures in place so felt safe. Really friendly team behind the bar.

The veg needs to be more fresh as some were drying out under the heat lamps otherwise the staff were very attentive and the surroundings were cosy and well worth the 40 min trip as it was 50% off night

Really love a good carvery. Was trying to book for 25 people for lunch. Cannot get through to anyone to book the table. Would not let me book on line. Only said my booking cannot be made. Tried messaging on facebook. Even tried ringing. No response! Going elsewhere!

Brilliant food
Booked a table we were early and they were on time with the booking we had made.
Very clean, bit of a wait for the food but then it was Sunday and is expected so can’t complain.
Definitely recommend this place.

Overall ok cavery but its not the same as plating it yourself especially pouring the gravy on, would have been nicer to bring gravy separately so everyone csn have it to their own preferences
