The BEST meal I've had in a long time!! Amazing food and great atmosphere, the staff were really attentive! Have already recommended it to family and would definitely return next time we are visiting!

What a gem! We loved everything about Trinacria: from the food which was tasty and fresh to the service which is SO kind and efficient, you just cannot go wrong with this restaurant. An added bonus are their prices, we paid 36.05£ for 3 main courses (two of them in the pics), a side salad and a small scoop of ice-cream (which was scrumptious). We will happily come back again when in York!

We have been here numerous times since it opened and the food never disappoints! After our dog walk, we came here on the spur of the moment for pizzas and gelato. The pizzas are well made and a decent size! We sat outside with our dog and watched the world go by! The gelatos are amazing and plenty of flavours. I always plump for hazelnut and coffee! The sorbets are delicious too!!

We were going to eat in city centre but realised our car park closed at 7pm, so we booked table here. The service and food were excellent, you could have been in Sicily. We will be back and car parking free after 6pm too. It was full for a wed evening, they turned people away.

The best pasta and gelato in York, by far. Pizza is great too! Music on Friday and Saturday night creates an amazing atmosphere to enjoy. The best I’ve had from here was a ricotta ravioli with pork ragu & cinnamon. Genuinely the best pasta I’ve ever eaten.

Wow what a find. From the outside you'd be fooled to think this place was all about gelato. We thought so, but on entering you find it's a modern Italian with amazing food. I had the arachne filled with ragu and my mam had the muscle pasta. We were sadly too full to try the gelato sadly.

Very Impressed. Booked a table here last weekend, never been before i'm very happy i did. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was lovely and the main thing was the food!! I can honestly say it was one of the best meals both me and my partner have had. From start to finish from the Garlic Tomato bread to the Gelato for dessert we enjoyed every part of it. It's been a while since I have been here, being a bit cautious about going out since Covid. But decided to meet a friend for lunch & so pleased I did. It has been freshened up and looks really smart but relaxed. The staff were lovely and our food was great. Mussels with spicy tomato sauce for me & ham/mozzarella arancini for my friend. Everything was really good & we decided we will come back for a starter/main/dessert in the future as the cannoli looked so good. Lovely, authentic Italian food using fresh high quality ingredients for very reasonable price. Can't recommend highly enough.

This was a chance find for us. We were greeted by a friendly waitress. I had a vegan Italian stew which tasted lovely; there were several vegan and vegetarian choices which is welcome. Other half had a carbonara which he enjoyed and portions were good. We didn't have desert but noted the ice-cream bar with a varied selection of flavours. Middle price range. All in all can't fault it really.

This used to be a great local cafe which served breakfasts, lunches and lovely cakes & pastries. It was lively and filled with young families - a real neighbourhood asset. Now it has moved upmarket, with wine glasses on the table, quiet, hardly any cakes or pastries. No breakfast and not open until lunchtime. It has become just another upmarket Italian restaurant - very nice, but like so many. That’s made me quite sad

We eat here a lot, whether for a full meal or just a cake. The staff are wonderful and so friendly. They are always happy to stop and have a chat. The food is really tasty and their gelato is some of the best in town, yummy. Great for breakfast, lunch and dinner, or just a laid back cuppa. Their Italian biscuits and cakes are worth the calories and they do a great coffee.

I like my lemon ice cream to be very lemony (is that a word) and the Lemon here doesn't disappoint! There is a great selection of ice creams and of the 8 plus I've tried they are all of high standard and I wouldn't consider leaving any in the tub! The breakfast here is also good and definitely enough to fill me for a busy day. There is a nice area to sit outside although it does get busy, and there is adequate seating inside as well. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the place is very clean.

The staff were welcoming. Pleasantly surprised by the nice interior.we were seated with a pushchair and had a very tasty meal. My sicillian meat balls and spaghetti were delicious and my wife and daughter both enjoyed their food and had deserts which were excellent. We shared a bottle of wine which was not overpriced. The final bill was in my opinion very reasonable and will recommend to friends and will visit again if in the area. A good end to a rainy afternoon! Cheers.

The food was amazing but when i needed to go to the toilet this restaurant didn't meet my expectations, the toilet seat what too high so it made it hard to do my business. Further more the seat was super uncomfortable. Recommend this place for food but if u need to go, go home

Fabulous restaurant! Out of all the eating places in York, Trinacria is one of my favourites and has been for some time now. Menu, quality of food, service and ambiance is second to none. I didn't really want to leave this review....I just wanted to keep this little gem of a place all to myself! I know it's being selfish and I don't care.

The place everyone should go when the pig n pastry is closed. Good food with Mediterranean twist, full English with spicy sausage and side salad with a drizzle of olive oil gives the flavour not often found in a traditional English breakfast. Very nice.

It's child friendly be and reasonably priced : child friendly and lots of authentic Italian delicasees as well as a wide range of coffees and teas. It a limited but excellent lunch and evening menu and given it's location very reasonably priced. The only reason I've not given 5 stars is that on the day we visited the toilets were out of order which made life a little uncomfortable. The range of ice creams are also to die for.

Whilst staying in York for a few days leading up to Christmas we came across this Sicilian restaurant along 'Bishy' Road. Good value for money and food was excellent. Well worth the visit. We visited at lunchtime and it was packed. Always a good sign.

I always try to visit during my intermittent visits to York. Usually it's just for morning coffee and a muffin. Very popular with families and groups at all times but everyone's welcome. A touch of Italian exuberance about the whole experience with friendly service -only downside is people get too comfortable at roadside tables and forget to leave!

Try the Saturday night specials - exceptionally good. Staff attentive and hardworking. Table four ate for £130 including two bottles of very nice Baglio Gibellina passimiento - a good deal all around. Definetly worth a visit again.

Great food, but sadly poor service, having worked and ran front of house in restaurants, we understand how tough the job is, it is disappointing to be served by someone hell bent on destroying the business with slow cleaning, service, and moody rudeness, the second waitress dropping a bowl of food over my young son was an accident, but was the last straw. Four stars for the food, one for service! UPDATE: Thought we would give them another try, completely different experience, smiling, prompt and professional service, we will be back..
