I found these guys ok. I'm 54 and I've been driving a Honda Jazz with around 10 years insurance. Im reluctant to have top up insurance. And it seems a lot to pay. So I went with a single social, domestic and hire & reward policy. I pay around £1100 and I pay in installments. Agents seem helpful and professional. As well doing food delivery, you can use the policy to dip in and out of occasional Amazon or Hermes cover work.

Taking out insurance with Zego was an a painless experience thanks to Lisa. She was friendly, polite and helpful, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Promised to phone me back the next day to see if I wanted to go ahead after providing a quote, which she did, and because I didn't have my debit card on me promised to phone me back again the next day, which again she did. I was very impressed, Lisa is a credit to Zego.

Very expensive quoted £300 per month including social and domestic. ACORN quoted me £200 per month. Pay as you go insurance is not bad, still comes at a price for £1.75 per hour.

Not as cheap as some competitors, but definitely worth paying the little extra for. Customer service is very good - I've been calling them to renew my policy every month since July/August 2020 & have always found them very pleasant to deal with. The only problem is their failure to do anything about the breakdown cover not covering cars for tyre issues if you don't have a spare wheel. I suffered a blowout on the M25 & they refused to recover my vehicle as it doesn't have a spare wheel, which is crazy as a lot of hybrids/PHEVs don't carry a spare wheel, as per the manufacturing standards (the space where the spare would normally be is often taken up by the battery/electrical gubbins). It's even more crazy when you consider that they provide cover for PCO/private hire vehicles, which are mostly hybrid/EVs, so don't have a spare. Aside from that, they're really good.
