I had the chance to work for Mia Karlsson Interior Design on several projects, not as client – just as photographer – capturing their work with my camera. Each and every time I have been truly impressed how Mia and her team have interpreted the “genius loci”, blending perfectly the existing with the new. Every project has its own clear identity, although the fresh, classy and sexy touch of MKID is immediately recognisable. Through the lens, I had the opportunity to zoom in the fine details, the quality of the chosen materials and the perfectly bespoke colour palette. I can’t forget to mention that working with Mia and her team is definitely fun and never stressful, as they are able to make everybody feel at ease and pampered in all the stages of the project, from the simplest to the most complex one.

We weren't sure whether to hire an interior designer for our extension, but are so pleased that we did, and that we picked Mia. She was extremely easy to work with and had a strong understanding of what we wanted. Importantly for us, she was just as impressive selecting items from IKEA as she was selecting some of the more top end items. She also understood our desire for a family house that works for young children but won't need to be renovated when they are teenagers. She was meticulous in her planning and details and we never had any doubts that our house would look as we wanted it to. Mia has done a fantastic job. Everyone who visits our house comments on how good it looks and we love living here.

We used Mia’s service for redecorating our house, including refitting two bathrooms and designing a new walk-in wardrobe. We are extremely happy with the result. This is the first time we have used an interior designer and I am certain that we could not have achieved anything close to this result on our own so we would definitely go down this path again in the future. Mia is also fun to work with and sensitive to our tastes. She was aware of our budget limitations so made sure we focused our expenditure on things where it would make the biggest difference. Where we purchased a few extravagant items, this was driven by us rather than her suggestions. She was also willing to work around our busy schedules by holding meetings at the weekends and evenings. I would definitely use her again for future projects.

We appointed Mia Karlsson Interior Design to advise us on planning the interior of an extension and also to refresh and update a number of other rooms. We worked closely with their Senior Designer Tarryn who brought her imaginative design ideas and professionalism to the job. Tarryn always listened closely to our ideas and concerns and responded sensitively. In this way we were able to achieve a great overall result. She also worked well with our architect and other professionals. As part of their service MKID were able to order products on our behalf and recommend suppliers and craftsmen who they had used successfully in the past. The MKID team were also helpful at all times where Tarryn or Mia were engaged on other projects. Finally I would add that Tarryn was tireless and endlessly patient in driving us around London to different shops in order that we had the best choices of furniture and fabrics. In summary we recommend Mia Karlsson Interior Design without reservation.

I cannot speak highly enough of the job Mia did on our house. As background my wife and I had just purchased our dream home where we wanted to raise a family and live for the next 20-30yrs. Our only issue was that we had very different taste and ideas as to how to decorate the different rooms. In stepped Mia who sat with us repeatedly at the weekend, over a period of three months, patiently going through reams of wall paper, books of carpet fabrics and countless books of furniture from which we could then choose what we liked and which she would put together for our approval. On top of that she helped us find a high quality builder who also did a great job and who worked seamlessly with her, taking the pain out of the project totally. We hired Mia Karlsson Interior Design services to help us sell our Mother in Laws home that had been on the market for over a year with no real interest. The house was new with all the mod cons but lacked the wow factor as my mother in law had moved abroad so had not put much effort into the finishes. Mia came to see the property and advised on what areas to focus on and totally transformed the look and the feel turning it from a house to a home with the use of colour and soft furnishings. Hi. I initially wasn't going to use a designer for the reconstruction of my Notting Hill basement flat , thinking of course that my own knowledge and ideas would be sufficient to 'do the job' . The first thing that struck me about Mia was how she seemed to have the ability to take my ideas and brief on board immediately and show me an array of ideas to spruce them up in ways I couldn't have imagined. I decided that I may have had ideas but she had the talent and trusting in her was indeed the way forward . The results were amazing and I couldn't be happier with how my space has turned out.
