Reviews of Antique Watch Co Ltd

I met David at the London Watch Show in September and seeing his amazing collection of vintage watches. We spoke about my much loved vintage Doxa Sub300t which had a faulty crown and stem and decided I would send it over for an appraisal.
I was really surprised to see the poor state of it, with the damaged stem, tube and crown. Jonathan (the watchmaker) assured me he would do his best to see what he could do.
Within a few weeks I had received it back and couldn’t be happier.
They clearly take care and pride in their work and the results speak for themselves. They have done an amazing job and this beauty will be worn for many years to come. I can’t recommend them enough, a huge thank you to all at the Antique Watch Company for getting this back safely to me and in such great condition.

Just received my vintage Baume 1940s watch; purchased on Monday and delivered today by special post in less than three full days. The packaging was excellent and a quality case was provided for the watch. The watch is superb, working well, and a good quality strap has been provided. The invoice paperwork also included a history of the Baume company etc. The Antique Watch Co Ltd obviously takes care with these watches and their customers. I would buy from them again. Very happy with the purchase.

Granted, they can be slow to respond and the timeframe to complete their work is long. However all is forgiven due to quality and price. The quote I was given from another watchmaker was more than the item is worth! Their workmanship appears quality and is guaranteed. Have patience and you will not be disappointed.

I got in touch with Antique Watch Co after getting my vintage Rolex Submariner badly water damaged. This is a timepiece I inherited from my late grandfather and has a lot of sentimental value for me - It was so badly damaged that it seemed beyond repair. However, after some amazing and extensive repair work from the head watchmaker at Antique Watch Co, my sub was completely brought back to life. I was so impressed by the work done to my watch; and would trust their level of expertise with any vintage timepiece. Cannot recommend their services enough! Thanks again for your great work.

I was looking to buy my first vintage watch. Jonathan & Victoria spent time answering my questions and were very helpful.
Great service and personalised advice, I recommend if you are a vintage watch newbie.

Excellent antique watch, exactly as described / photo. Fantastic service, why? I needed the delivery to arrive after a certain date, AWC were perfect in accommodating. Highly recommend this company.

I purchased a stunning classic 18k Omega pink gold dress watch from the 1950s/60s for my Dad for his birthday. I had a great chat with Jonathan about watches and my Dad absolutely loved the watch, which I gave to him yesterday on Fathers day - so a month early lol. I will definitely be back and thanks again. What a great buy and a great shop. Highly, highly recommended!

Great shop, great customer service, really nice people. Purchased a beautiful pocket watch and coin.

Superb customer service. Jonathan juggled Covid-enforced long-distance questions and sale of my fob watch and barometer, answering all my questions in a very timely manner. Despite my inability to come to London, he was very flexible and patient about delivery and ensured I was informed of the safe receipt. Very prompt payment too. I couldn't have asked for a better experience: polite, helpful, patient, prompt, reliable!

Fantastic experience buying from Jonathan, and most importantly, a stunning timeless (pun partially intended) timepiece! Top class.

My Porsche Design watch needed a new battery and some links removed from the bracelet. Offered same day service but I picked it up the following day. Very happy with price and service

From start to finish Jonathan was fantastic. We agreed a price for my watch. I posted it direct to him. He contacted me to confirm he had received. He transferred the agreed amount direct into my account. Great service from beginning to end. Would definitely recommend them.

Fantastic service. I took a watch elsewhere for repair and after almost 5 months got it back as they couldn't source parts. Jonathan had no issues and got it back to me good as new. Would highly recommend.

Can't recommend Johnathon and the Antique Watch Co highly enough. Having regularly dropped by for chats about classic Omegas and Breitlings to leaving a few vintage pieces with Jon to service. The sheer volume of watches he services is testament to the quality and level of service he provides. When servicing watches you're shared a pic or two of the worn gears, etc and often the watch is returned alongside said broken part for reference. Being a true enthusiast I can happily trust Jon to do what's right for the watch - whether it needs a full service or a sympathetic checkup.
Plus the quality of stock he holds of vintage time pieces just keeps me going back for more!

Gem! Sorted my dads watch to perfection at a fraction of the price of the high street shops. Highly recommend.

First class customer service! Would 100% use them again, John is very knowledgeable and helpful.

I had a WhatsApp conversation with Jonathan it was clear to that he was transparent, knowledgable and honest about the items I was querying about sending for repair. Jonathan informed me of what they were and was straight enough to let me know that they would be uneconomical to repair which was highly appreciated. I will definitely be looking in their direction in the future should I need to.

A proper watch shop with real knowledge. I don't often write reviews, but the folks at the Antique Watch Co. were so good. I needed the acrylic glass put back into a watch. After an issue with the first shop I tried, someone recommended this shop. They were really helpful, inserted the acrylic back properly with a press, and also pointed out the possible cause of another issue. Will definitely go back next time I need work. Unfortunately I didn't have time to properly check out the watches on display, but I did noticed a couple of really lovely vintage watches. All round thumbs up.

Really friendly staff and a lovely shop. I bought my watch from them 8 years ago and would definitely buy from there again. I popped in the other day as the clasp didn't close properly. They fixed it on the spot, even though I hadn't booked it in and didn't even charge me for it. Thank you very much!

Although they had said on the phone that their workshop would be busy till after Christmas, as I was standing outside a jewellers who described themselves as Luxury Watch repairers in Hatton Garden that I didn't fancy the look of and had poor reviews they said they would take a quick look at my Omega Constellation and then advise.
The service I received was terrific. It soon became apparent that it was a dead battery causing the problem, I hadn't been aware that it took a battery as it had been my late father's watch, and within a few minutes it was sorted. They could have told me and charged me anything to get it working again but this was the cheapest option.
When the watch does need servicing this is where I will bring it.

Just received my Omega Silver DeVille back from a rater big restoration job. Looks fantastic! It took some time but well worth the wait and understandably considering the pandemic. High recommended if not in a rush :) Many thanks AWC and keep safe!

Small friendly family run business. Fixed my little boys watch while i waited which i didn't expect , so I'm happy and I'm sure my son will be happy too.
Many Thanks.

I first bought a watch from AWC in 1991 and still take it here to be serviced, along with a second I bought later in the 90's.
I recommend them to friends, family and business acquaintances all the time.
The service is friendly, their knowledge and professionalism is excellent and long may they continue to prosper.

Great friendly and professional service ! It's refreshing when you have a vintage/specialist watch and you can talk with the technician about the quirks, it makes you feel assured that your precious watch is in safe hands. Thanks for doing a great service on my Omega Geneve it looks like new !

I have become a vintage watch collector because of this shop. They have provided an immense amount of advice, especially where I have made buying mistakes, e.g. on eBay, enabling me to get refunds! They are extremely knowledgeable, and always a pleasure to buy from. You are going to get what you pay for from them, and this applies to excellent watches and excellent repairs, I couldn't rate them higher, and there are very few antique and vintage watch repairers left, even in London. And I promise I'm not related to them!

I inherited my father's Tudor Oyster Elegante. He bought it in 1964, and I'm pretty sure he'd never had it serviced - so I was sad but not too surprised when it finally stopped working late last year. After looking around a while I eventually took it in to the Antique Watch Company. I'd often stopped in passing to admire the window display at this little Clerkenwell shop, which is one of the very last of its kind in an area that was once home to numerous artisan horologists.
I received courteous service, and although it took quite a while to complete the work, my patience (and expenditure) was rewarded. The watch has been restored beautifully. It looks like new, it's keeping excellent time, and I'm delighted.
If you've got a valuable watch you'd like restored to its original glory take it to this shop. You won't be disappointed. What's more your custom will be supporting an authentic bit of London history too.

Had a query regarding a Speedmaster I recently purchased elsewhere. Got in contact with Jonathan who despite being busy was more than happy to accommodate my questions and queries and put my mind at rest. A good understanding of the products and a willingness to help goes a long way. Can't recommend enough!

Jonathan has been fantastic at repairing my dad's old Omega. Very happy with his service, I highly recommend it.

I brought in a vintage 1950s watch for repair as the stem and button had become detached from the watch. I got a call from them telling me that they couldn't fix it because they didn't have the parts. Long story short, the stem and button had been misplaced. Thankfully, they found it and repaired it for me free of charge due to the hassle of misplacing the stem and button in the first place. Much respect for a place that puts their customer's satisfaction above all else.

Popped in on a whim , made some vague suggestions about finding a watch from my birth year. They where both helpful and enthusiastic. Found pretty much the perfect watch in a Rolex oyster date just .Then when I had a problem with the winder , even though they said waiting times on repairs where long due to numbers of customers they had the watch back to me in 10 days. Would definitely recommend.
J. C.
Extremely friendly, replaced my battery very quickly at a cheap price! They were also kind enough to look into another question about my watch in the time that I was gone. Really appreciated it!

Jonathan took my pocket watch, and within two days he'd emailed helpful and interesting information, with his offer. I accepted it, and received the money promptly in my bank account. Besides being efficient and business-like, it was a real pleasure to deal with Jonathan.

Hello Google community. My name is Jonathan ,I manage AWC. I would like to Comment on what services we provide. We specialise in Vintage watch restoration and sales. Battery installation is an extra service we provide and i have instructed staff to set most watches to time where ever possible. we are also not to know what battery a watch requires until it is opened. Some modern digital watches require removal of several screws before we can establish if your watch requires a 1.5 v standard or 3v lithium battery. Also some digital watches require the original instructions to set time , date, world time, etc etc, some can take 10 minutes just to set the Time. Therefore we do not set every watch, especially in 30minutes. If customers ask specifically and politely and even supply the instruction booklet we will always do our best to help. a 3v lithium battery will power back light and alarm and you should expect 3-4 years use before battery replacement is required again. £15 for such a battery installation is the trade average. please note we do not supply any waterproofing warranty. Thank you for taking the time to read and i hope this has cleared up a few points for other reviewers.

The staff were very happy to spend time discussing a beautiful Jaeger Le Coultre watch which I ultimately bought at a very fair price. Jonathan has an excellent level of knowledge on swiss mechanical watches and I feel that his advice is always very honest. I would not hesitate to buy another watch there or ask Jonathan to service / repair any of my vintage Rolex, Omega or JLC watches.

Only excellent service. Three generations worth of knowledge and experience are evident here! I'm very much looking forward to future dealings with John and the team, maybe it's time for another watch soon...
