I bought an engagement ring during lockdown, so never actually visited the shop or met Michael in person, but honestly, things couldn't have gone any smoother even if I could visit the shop. I was able to select the exact diamond and in the end I decided on a different band style for something more classic. Your local high street dealer probably doesn't source the best diamonds and I believe they use special lights to show their diamonds at their best, take them out and they're not so good. By contrast, our diamond was an excellent cut, and so far the feedback has been amazing, everyone who has seen it thinks it's amazing and 'really catches the eye'. I managed to buy the best ring which is far cheaper than the highstreet brands and exactly the same, with a proper GIA certificate and insurance, same as i would get it anywhere. Having been recommended through a close friend, i arrived at Michaels door on a Friday evening at 5pm, knowing quite literally nothing about diamonds.
