Had my engagement ring repaired here.Very professional and friendly customer service. Very knowledgeable. When I got my ring back it look brand new again. I would highly recommend this place for anything jewellery related. I was that impressed with the work I actually took another piece of jewellery in to get repaired straight away.

I was recently gifted a gorgeous ring from my grandmother and took it to Onyx to be valued. They sent the ring off to be cleaned and they also fixed the claws on it for me that had been broken due to standard wear and tear of my grandmother. Staff are very professional and extremely kind, they explained to me the prices if I wanted to add gold to it so it would fit me, and also advised me to insure it and how to go about doing so. They are a company I believe are truly there to help customers and I wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a lovely, reliable jewellers.

Absolutely amazing; amazing staff, amazing turnaround, amazing outcome and amazing prices. I went to Onyx on Saturday based on the incredible reviews I read. They quoted me a lot less than Debenhams to replace a diamond from my engagement ring. They called me Tuesday morning to say my ring was ready, just a few days after I took it in. Other places had estimated 2-3 weeks to fix my ring. I am so happy and so grateful for the reviews which led me to Onyx. I would 10/10 recommend.

I bought a princess cut diamond ring on a Caribbean cruise. One of the 10 diamonds fell out the first time I wore it. Amazingly I was able to find the diamond and the supplier agreed to pay for it to be reset. I took it to Onyx after reading the reviews, I left it for a few days so the jeweller could examine it. They decided they couldn’t take the work on due to the unusual cut and setting. They even looked into if anyone in Birmingham’s jewellery quarter could do the work but weren’t able to. They advised I send it back for a replacement/repair. The supplier has agreed to replace the ring. As they couldn’t fix it there was no charge! No charge for their expert advice! To me this means they are very trustworthy, I suspect some places may have just had a go at doing it, to the detriment of my ring. Highly recommend this place, wonderful, helpful staff!

This gem of a place has become very special to me and my now husband. Superb repair service! I lost the diamond from my vintage engagement ring, and as was an oval-shaped stone, it wasn't easy to find a match. I needed a ring resizing. The ring used to be my Nans & is very precious to me. Erica was very friendly & helpful. I visited the shop on Wednesday, late afternoon, to choose the correct size & left the ring with them. To my surprise the ring was ready Friday for me to collect. Compared to other jewellers in Beeston their price for the repair was the best by far. From entering the shop, the attention to detail and customer service was excellent. The best jewellers I've ever been to. Has beautiful quality jewellery and it's the only place I use to get earrings for myself and bracelets, necklaces for family members. We came here on the off chance as I knew the store was due to close but I wanted to browse the windows for an engagement ring. My partner proposed the week before and we decided to look for a ring together. We were welcomed into the store and offered to try on some rings. What a fantastic shop! I went in to have my grandmothers engagement run altered to pop a special question and had fantastic service from both ladies who were in. Gave me some great advice about the alterations, what I could do if I wanted to change the ring slightly. Needles to say I went back for our wedding rings! Husband brought me a gold wishbone ring which is 44 years old. It cracked and was in need of repair. Found Onyx Goldsmiths on Google because I wanted it repairing in store. Took my engagement ring in for resizing. Excellent, professional and friendly service. Needed to go down two sizes after consulting with the staff and trying on rings in various sizes (with the same band width as mine to ensure I was happy with the result) and this was done very quickly in just a couple of days (and my ring has a split shank with diamonds down the side so was a trickier resize). This remains my favourite shop in Nottingham. A fabulous shop with an outstanding range of gorgeous jewellery. I was recommended Onyx by my husband who had heard at work they were excellent for repairs and alterations to jewellery. I agree with this wholeheartedly. I wanted my wedding rings and engagement ring making into one ring and some alterations made including a resize and rounding of the bands for a nicer fit. I couldn't be happier with the result. After being cleaned and the requested alterations made it looks like a different ring. It fits lovely and is easier to take on and off without being loose. The ladies there could not have been more helpful and kept me informed as to the progress and expected completion date. My only tip is if you need jewellery back by a set day is be sure to arrange this with them, as they sometimes have emergency refits or fixes for important occasions.

The service and quality of Onyx is second to none. Other jewellers told me my chain was ‘beyond repair’ - but the girls at Onyx reassured me it can be done. Lady of the Rings... that would be the enchanting Erica.... my ‘precious’ ring needed a total overhaul after 30 years and a somewhat adventure from where our journey began.. a small little goblin shop in leafy Bucks which was burgled.. they stole my original ring and I got to choose this one. Me and my fiance first found Onyx when we came to resize my engagment ring. It was an old antique and we wanted to make sure it would be well taken care of. After reading reviews we put the ring in their care, we were not disappointed. The ring came back sparkling with a perfect fit. A year later I was knocked off my bicycle by a car, my ring took some damage; the platinum claws were bent and the one side of the gold band was dented. I tried going to a different jewellers closer by and they refused to repair platinum. I came back to Onyx and they fixed the ring within 2 weeks time. We are very happy with the work they did to repair it, shines and looks like new. I got shown the rings progression after every minor change and following my feedback the ring was changed and adjusted on many..... many occasions in which they were happy to help me out with. I was told by a friend of this lovely shop when I needed some charms soldering on my charm bracelet, and received great service. A few weeks later I was devastated to discover my engagement ring which I have worn since 1979 had lost the centre sapphire. I had no hesitation in taking it to Onyx on the Tuesday, had a estimate by Wednesday and work completed by Friday! They had cleaned it up and even the sapphire was the same colour! Could not recommend Onyx Goldsmiths more highly. I purchase a ring from a jeweller based in Liverpool to propose to my partner on our special trip to the United States where I had planned for months to propose to her on her birthday in a very special and unique way. My partner said yes however when putting the ring on for the first time it was clear that the ring needed to be re-sized. Rather than send the ring to be re-sized via the original company, we were given the details for Onyx Goldsmiths by a trusted friend. We needed to get the ring re-sized and took our friends advice. Onyx staff were very sensitive to the fact that the engagement ring meant something very dear to my partner and I and were very honest and clear in highlighting some features which were not expected following the purchase of the engagement ring. It transpired to be sold to me in the belief that the stones included in the ring were Natural stones which Onyx informed us was not the case. The staff were honest from the very beginning with us and honesty is worth such a lot to people who are always looking to ensure that they do not get duped or purchase something that is not accurately described. The ring, thankfully was made out of White Gold and therefore following conversation with the Jeweller and craftsperson directly about the ring resizing, we agreed to proceed to leave the ring with them to undertake the works. Onyx Goldsmiths proceeded to resize the ring and once return, we saw such intricate and professional workmanship to ensure that the original ring design was retained and no material was lost. We decided at this point to enjoy the correctly fitting ring irrespective of lab grown stones being included and pursued investigation with the original company who mis-sold the ring to us to clarify options. A few months later, through a mild knock to the ring, one of the lab grown stones chipped and due to this did not fit the original housing properly. the next day, the stone managed to fall from the housing and we were faced with searching for the stone and the resulting decision to contact Onyx to quote for the cost of replacement of the stones so that the ring could be as intended originally. Onyx kept us up to date on progress and particularly impressed us with chasing up a voicemail left on my phone with another phone call the next day to confirm that their voicemail had been received. We are highly impressed with their knowledge and experience in their profession, they are highly professional and hold great integrity to their craft. They were open to our suggestions and responsive to our questions and we are truly grateful of their service. We will be sharing details of their services with all that we know and would recommend that anybody consult with them first to avoid our situation. Thankfully, Onyx have turned something which was truly disappointing, into something where an external party took great care to ensure our happiness. Phenomenal customer service and we are very thankful for their help.

We took a very badly damaged ring in to be fixed, and it came back looking good as new having been cleaned as well! We got fantastic value for money compared to other, larger jewelers we had collected quotes from - especially for the tiny diamond which had fallen out and needed replacing. I will start my review by saying - Don't think about going anywhere else! Onyx Goldsmiths are by FAR the best! I have had my engagement ring for 11 years and it was WELL overdue some TLC! I did take it to another jeweller about 3 years ago to get the claws redone and I was so unhappy with their work. My Mother took her engagement ring to Onyx a few years back and told me I should have gone there. Well I definitely should have listened! Me and my husband decided to have a day on the new trams in Nottingham and went to Beeston, from Wilford where we live. We reached Onyx and I said to my husband "I'm going in! They'll save my ring!" so we did! The staff were so polite and friendly and I instantly trusted them! I decided there and then that walking into Onyx was the best thing I could have done that day! When my wife lost the ruby from her engagement ring I tried lots of jewellers in Nottinghamshire and Birmingham and they were all reluctant or uninterested in taking on the repair, until I walked into Onyx. They replaced the shank of the ring, built the claws up where they had worn over the years - so the diamonds are safe and secure now. Saw reviews for this jewellers, & took in 3 rings there for a "mega-upgrade". I had an engagement ring & an eternity ring to re-size, and also wanted to know if they could re-vamp my wedding ring. For the 2 re-sizings, I felt they were a little snug afterwards, Onyx were great, and just re-sized them again for me, now they're perfect. Also, they added some gold to the shank of my engagement ring, looks good as new now. And for my wedding ring ... Just before Christmas 2016 I asked them for a cubic zirconia silver tennis bracelet and necklace. They didn't have what I was looking for. What a find! We don't usually venture this far up Beeston High Street, but were looking for a pair of matching rings to celebrate myself and my boyfriend's 10th anniversary together. Onyx had a huge variety of rings of many different designs to choose from. They were unfortunately not able to help with my boyfriend's ring - we chose one but they were unable to source it in his size - but we successfully chose one (and a theme of black stones) for myself. We discovered the exceptional service from this little shop as it was a very hot day when I bought the ring, and after an afternoon in an air conditioned office I found the ring to be about 2 sizes too big :-(. Onyx expertly advised that the ring could not be resized without potential damage to the stones, and unfortunately the manufacturer did not make the ring in my size, so they asked me to leave it with them and they would see what they could do. A few days later they offered (via the manufacturer) to make a bespoke ring in my size which I am delighted to say I am wearing now and it is perfect - both in style and fit! My name is holly, me and my partner have been together for 5 and a half years and engaged for 3 and a half, but sadly I lost my engagement ring on holiday in france last year in June, The ring I lost was passed down through my partners mums side of the family so it was irreplaceable, and I cried for months trolling the Internet trying to find something remotely close but no hope I tryed to claim on insurance but no hope either, befor Christmas I gave up. But yesturday I went to the nail bar and when I was done I was walking by onyxs and was looking at rings in the window so I went in. Told the lovely lady my story and shown her the photo of the ring from 2013. She sighed and said I got some similar but not the same she pulled all the rings she could find I pointed to the ones out in the window that were close but the lady saw one in the side window hiding. As I walked back in the shop, she said holly you won't believe this I've found it. She polished up the ring and placed it in my hand and I couldn't belive my eyes. It's the same ring the fit was the same a tiny bit loose. It found its way back to me I said I've greaved enough and it's made its way back.
