When picking up a new watch for my wife, Goldsmiths knowing it had been my birthday this week had set up a beautiful surprise complete with cake and champagne to celebrate! It was totally unexpected but absolutely in line with the incredible service we’ve received since we’ve become clients. A particular big thank you has to go to Emma and Jay who always look after myself and my family whenever we pop in and are incredibly welcoming. If you’re looking to start building a relationship with a knowledgeable and thoughtful AD, don’t look any further than Goldsmiths in Reading.

Went in for an appointment as a newbie and is someone interested in collecting watches. I was served by Jay/Jason who talked me through a few options as well as registering my interest. He was very patient while i asked many questions and even offered a beverage while i contemplated on my choice. I felt really comfortable and ended up purchasing my first Tudor watch, a few hours in and I absolutely love it! I would absolutely recommend Goldsmiths when purchasing a watch, I was helped by Jason who was very knowledgeable and passionate about the watches he sells which is a really nice feeling as a watch enthusiast myself. My watch was fitted to my wrist by another very friendly member of staff with drinks offered which made me very comfortable, on leaving I was even offered a security guy to walk me to my car which I have never heard of before but would make me feel very safe. Went in to drop off an old broken watch for a service, kind of dreading it might take forever. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Delightful staff who were engaging and obliging and welcomed me with a badly needed cold drink, also dealt with my service requests very swiftly and efficiently. Had a fantastic experience when visiting Goldsmiths Reading on Saturday. Lois is incredibly knowledgable about all the products and services that Goldsmiths offer and was doing a great job shadowing and training their latest team member Cam. My partner and I had only popped in to try on a watch in the window and were treated to a glass of Champagne each whilst we tried on a number of models. Having previously been a customer of another store I can honestly say this experience was on another level. Looking forward to visiting again soon. Watch repaired well and within time promised. However the store was not open at 9:30am when it was supposed to be. It’s Retail Management 101 to open on time especially in a luxury store. But besides being late, the attitude was shocking. The staff were all sitting around sipping their lattes and couldn’t care less that there was a client waiting for a store to open that should have already been open. When politely challenged; no apology received. Just “we were in a staff briefing”. I hope the next staff briefing is about the importance of opening on time by a new Store Manager. If the current one worked for my company, his P45 would have already been printed.

I have had two really good experiences with this branch of Goldsmiths, after being let down year after year at my previous local Goldsmiths in Oxford I have now been able to build a relationship and haven’t been made to feel it’s impossible to purchase watches from brands you want to. Fundly enough, I've been a customer of Goldsmiths for many years and have been to various branches, and visited this location for the first time. We booked an appointment and upon arrival, it came to the staff as a surprise but they managed to accommodate us. I had a lovely discussion about Rolex and Tudor with the sales assistant and left feeling happy. To improve I feel the store could hold a bigger selection of brands and most importantly, like other branches, stock pre-owned! With over 400+ pre-owned watches available on Goldsmiths online, I feel they truly deserve a spot in the window at this branch of Goldsmiths; I feel inspired when I see a wonderful selection of pre-owned timepieces. Put my name down for Rolex Submariner watch. Most jewllers across south east south west England said there was a waiting list of 6 months to 2 years, some even saying you I would be lucky to get one anytime soon. Rang up the store, spoke to Dale who said he would be able to get me one In 3 months. 2 months after speaking to Dale I received a call to say the Rolex Submariner had arrived and was ready for me to collect. Very impressed. When I went to collect the watch, I was served by Zehra who was extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you

Best experience I've ever had in an authorised dealer. I went in to register my interest for a Rolex Explorer and was served by Adri. She was so helpful, kind, and non judging. Adri and I had a great talk for about 2 hours, talking about watches, business, and life in general. I also went onto have a look at and try on another watch (the Omega Seamaster 300 with the white dial), which she was more than happy for me to try on for size. I'm still debating if the size is too big for me. As well as the watch researching, I bought a diamond necklace for my wife for our 5th wedding anniversary. Adri helped me look for something in my price range, and I was extremely happy with the first class and premium experience I got. I know my wife will be really happy with it! :-) Looking forward to returning to Goldsmiths in Reading (The Oracle) for more shiny things in the future!
