Reviews of Walkers Nurseries & Garden Centre

Lovely place to go for a walk, gardens are just beautiful and very well maintained. There is a massive shop area with all different kinds of flowers and plants and all the things you might need for them. Great cafe where you can get a lovely slice of cake and a cuppa.

Lovely place to go for a walk, gardens are just beautiful and very well maintained. There is a massive shop area with all different kinds of flowers and everything you might need for them. And if you get tired from all the walking around, there's a big cafe where you can sit and enjoy a cuppa or even dessert.

Great day out at Walkers Nurseries Blaxton. Large restaurant with outdoor seating with a great range of food with a lovely atmosphere to enjoy. Loads of outdoor and indoor plants 🌼🌻gifts, ornaments, cards, children books 📚, pictures, wild bird food etc. Disabled friendly with a disabled toilet ♿ big enough to take a wheelchair in. Would definitely recommend a visit 🛍️😊
C. S.
I enjoy going to Walkers because they have a great selection of plants and flowers, a shop, and you can walk around the gardens too. You can easily spend a couple of hours here. There is plenty of parking too.
J. M.
When you visit Walker's Nurseries, do not forget to have a walk around their beautiful gardens. This place is definitely worthy of a day out with friends and family. Nevermind the fact that the shop is filled with all kinds of goodies, both the food and decorative types, it also has a couple of cafes and great big nurseries to help you complete your garden.
R. E.
I'm always amazed by this place. The shop offers a wide variety of snacks, sweets, jams, toys, potted and self grown flowers, trees, and herbs, all sorts of soils, and all kinds of gardening tools. You'll find anything that you need, is well planned and really clean. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The garden offers nice views. 👌 Amazed by everything inside, I forgot to take more pictures 😁
R. N.
Lovely new restaurant. However, there was some confusion over which sides to queue for hot or cold food. Needs organising properly. A kind lady server and cashier, saw us struggling..particularly me as a disabled person, pulled us out from some rude impatient customers and got our food for us. 😊👍
C. B.
It's always a pleasure visiting Walkers Garden Centre. Can't resist buying delicious goods from the deli. Spoilt for choice. Followed by a spot of lunch sat in the outdoor area. Then we had a lovely walk around the award winning grounds.
P. C.
Absolutely love Walkers. My favourite place for lunch or just tea and one of their fabulous cakes. The food is excellent. The selection of all kinds of plants in the garden centre and all the usual sundries, pots etc. The cold savoury and cake counters are fabulous and a fantastic selection of all sorts of sweets and savouries in tins, jars and packets of all kinds.
On a fine day a walk round the fabulous gardens is an extra treat. Highly recommended.
J. V.
Lovely Christmas 🎄 shop. Nice large garden restaurant, with good food choice. Good plant choice.
R. M.
Great cafe with tasty options including Vegan. Lovely selection of plants and garden/home products.
J. F.
Thos place is a natural wonderland for gardeners and outdoor lovers alike there is a lovely cafe/restaurant. There is even a holistic therapy outlet to have a little pamper. Ther variety of stock is huge and the vibrancy of colour is divine. Lots to see for all the family. U will definitely come out with a purchase or 3 😁 well worth a visit x

Got alot of new perennials in also noticed tomato and herb plants. Has a large selection of fancy goods and a bakery counter. Has had a large cafe built, very echoey i found. The old potting shed cafe has been opened up and outside furniture is found there now. They have a butchers now in part of the old cafe the other part is empty.
There are only 3 loos in the cafe but the old ones are still there. Dogs aren't allowed anymore even in the trail areas unless they are guide dogs. Also sell a large selection of shrubs, trees ,composts and gravels. Christmas shop is in full swing
P. G.
Nice place to visit, well stocked. On site cafe serving fresh food, only problem was the panini, was advertised with red onion but came with onion relish need to be more specific on the menu, also a butchers on site, which was well stocked. Also on site large garden to walk around, spent time watching the dragonflies over the ponds. Well worth the visit.
M. C.
Absolutely amazing garden centre with phenomenal gardens to wander, get inspiration or even have a picnic. Spent a couple of hours just wandering the gardens. Wide selection of bonsai at reasonable prices and a decent selection of cacti. Many many of the regular plants to choose from and a great pond with big Koi too. Would definitely recommend a visit for the whole family and also mobility scooter/wheelchair friendly. Cafe on site too ☺️
S.
Very beautiful at this time of the year.
A great coffee shop
D. S.
Very well stocked and grate variety and value....staff vas very helpful.
Cafe was fantastic
M. D.
Lovely lunch options (we opted for homemade creamy mushroom soup and fresh granary bread) in a clean and spacious cafeteria. The plants in the garden centre and items in the shop were excellent quality. The walk through the landscaped gardens afterwards was a pleasant surprise - gorgeous planting ideas.
D. W.
Worth a visit. Not the cheapest but have a big range of quality plants and garden / household products. Make sure you walk the gardens well worth a visit (don't allow dogs in the gardens)
f.
Great place to visit. Loads of plant varieties available and very helpful knowledgeable staff to assist in your decisions. Restaurant has amazing food and the butchers is the best 👌
There is pies, quiches and cakes available to buy to take away too. All really good quality homemade items. Wierd but wonderful variety of ornaments and homeware and a children's section which includes soft toys and books to purchase. Spectacular seasonal displays in which staff take weeks to arrange. Set within lovely gardens that are so peaceful to walk around. Unfortunately since the renovations have taken place dogs are no longer allowed which is a shame but it is a lovely place to visit regardless.

First time here today 18th November. What a fantastic garden centre. Really enjoyed our time here. Did not get to go round everything. Definitely be back more often & look forward to walking in your gardens.
r. e.
Exceptionally nice place to walk round and the cafe is very very good and reasonable for the prices, you get a very ample plateful that doesn't look like its from frozen. There is a garden area that you can walk round which has established, it's very nice to walk round. I would definitely return
M. R.
Went here with friends and was amazed! What a big garden centre with loads of plants trees and all you could possibly want for your garden. Lots of unusual plants ECT and features for decoration. I was tempted to buy a water ball fountain for my decking. A farm shop selling lovely fresh cream cakes and brownies and savoury goods. Mushroom quiche at £3.49 that could serve 2 with salad was very tasty. Shelves of glass jars with a mass variety of jams and chutneys ect. A newly built large cafe sold the company's foods and drinks at very reasonable prices. Seating out side if warm enough which it was that day. Lots to see in the grounds, ponds displays and ornaments. Across from the centre is their gardens to walk round. Filled with different trees and bushes and flowers. Streams with lily's in flower, quirky houses and huts to sit in. Large grass area for children to run about and play. Not sure if you could picnic there, but would ask next time I go. Too much to see in a few hours so can't wait to go back.
D. O.
Huge new cafe ,called in to check it out, plenty of space, bit noisy even when half full, nice cake and coffee, still finishing the huge patio area with interesting driftwood dinosaurs, will be a great spot in the summer, also got a massive plant selection, nice landscaped gardens as well to walk off the cake
R. M. G.
Probably one of the best garden centres we have been to. A beautiful park is next to it.
A. W.
Been a while since our last visit
Garden Centre looks fabulous lots of Christmas stock as well as unusual gifts & Garden products
Had lunch in New restaurant, absolutely gorgeous so much choice, fresh veg friendly staff & reasonable prices. Will return to choose one of the fabulous cakes
M. C.
This is a great place to meet friends or just wander round by yourself.
Firstly it has loads of parking but always seems to be a busy place.
It is a great garden centre with a wide verify of plants and shrubs and everything you need for the garden.
It's a good place to buy Christmas gifts including books cards pottery too many to name.
They have a great area for Christmas with trees ornaments and displays.
The new cafe is disappointing it is confusing it has three counters, this was our first visit to the cafe. The food is not priced having to ask staff for prices. The experience was unpleasant, it sounds like a busy railway station loud not relaxing. The furniture is hard and plastic similar to a canteen. The cost of the food expensive. Thee surrounding are shinny but cheep.
The outside eating area has gone another mistake. Dogs are not allowed anywhere on site.
We shall not eat in the café ever again.
s. k.
Not a great choice in cafe, new but set out not ideal, busy, not cheap but not expensive either.
Garden centre has a one way system in part of it.
Christmas decorations very reasonable.
Car park very busy for a Thursday.
G. P.
I visited this garden centre on the off chance of finding some new plants for my back garden and really loved it. The staff were super friendly and helpful; the shop itself is dog friendly and there was loads of interesting quirky finds in it. Outside there are also areas like the pine trail which really helped me make up my mind about how I wanted my new garden to look. Overall I was really impressed and I’ll definitely be back!
N. D.
Great cafe/restaurant, deli, gift shop and everything you would expect to find at a garden centre. Ample car parking and outdoor gardens to explore.
J. J.
Decent garden centre, wide choice of quality plants, good choice of garden furniture, gazebos etc. excellent deli and a fantastic butchery and fishmonger. Restaurant is new, great choice of food, always busy, this is a restaurant with a garden centre attached.
Decided to have a bite of breakfast, called about 10:45 towards the end of service, the eggs were overcooked, unfortunately the bacon was dry and smoked(not my favourite,) bread was dry, however, it was the end of service but in my opinion the end should be as good as the beginning , it’s the same price. The cakes and mince pies are very good.
C. H.
The food is exelent the salads are good and the cake are very moreish plenty of room both inside and out. The prices are good and after a good browse around the plants and do not miss the deli cuonter very good scones if they have any left.
L. C.
Just been to walkers again and decided to have some lunch the food was nice and the lady who searched it was polite but the two ladies serving drinks and taking your money were so rude they didn't even stop there conversation to serve us!!! No acknowledgement what's so ever!! Really really rude. Better training needed.
j. W.
Beautiful place to visit and great food and gardens to walk through
S. B.
Lovely food, breakfast, lunch.
Home cooked meal types.
Scenery very nice.
Xmas variation items.
Plenty pots.
Garden item in abundance
w. 2.
We go quite a lot for breakfast or tea and cakes oh and loads of plants love the gardens staff are friendly and the cafe is very clean .a mean vanilla slice if your a fan with real eggs in !
P. S.
Great garden centre great cafe but very expensive now and whatever happened to the fantastic selection of dwarf conifers Walkers used to be famous for and my main reason for visiting . It would be great to see a small area set aside for for these plants with the rare and unusual varieties that Walkers used to sell.
J. N.
A proper nursery, they sell plants! ,but they also have a very good butchery and restaurant.A good lunch there and I don't cook it or wash up after, and I don't need another meal in the evening,.Suits me fine.
G. P.
A proper nursery and not just a garden centre, it benefits from being set in many acres of land and over the years, the family has designed and built a wonderful garden to explore our picnic in.
Walk among the beautiful black birch with their white bark, a stunning little forest, and the firs shaped into standing birds.
The main 'garden centre' has really good quality plants, we've bought plenty over the past 30 years, and a very good café.
H. W.
Quality of the food is amazing. All home cooked and the veg is so nice. A nice little garden centre with a good selection of gifts.
D. H.
Lovely new coffee and eating area. The garden centre has plenty of gifts and plants for everyone. Worth a visit
K. C.
Went for lunch which was delicious steak and potato pie and a catch up with friends. Woman taking money a bit rude when my friends card didn't work. Will be back to look at decorations soon.
D. H.
Wow loved this place had an excellent meal with friends and family then a browse around the shop and garden centre lovely outdoor space lively afternoon out
A. R.
Sooo lovely park and huge shop with thousands flowers, plants pots etc etc. Place worth to see. My family loves it 😉
T. C.
Used the new cafe. Not been here for years so it has certainly changed. Bigger now with a huge cafe. But like everything else the pricing has gone up. But I guess they have to also pay for the extension.
J. L.
Beautiful little find, love the little Xmas touches.
PS, the deli counter sell one of the best pork pies I've ever had 😁
A. A.
My husband and myself had a beautiful carvery excellent selection of meat and vegetables also many deserts. Staff very friendly and helpful Will certainly be returning David and Audrey
S. C.
Very large garden centre with a fabulous large modern restaurant serving light bites and main meals. The food was fresh, delicious and very good value for money. The added bonus being beautiful landscaped gardens for the whole family to enjoy. We managed to spend most of the day there and will definitely return.
M. C.
Much like most high end nurseries, good selection of food and drink and unusual things that you can't find in allot of places. Good selection of plants (surprised?) I was looking for some interesting chocolates to give as a gift but they didn't have any. Today's visit was in December, so there is a large selection of Christmas decorations and trees. A small delicatessen with meats and cheese is also here.
Please give a thumbs up, if you found this review helpful.
C. A.
A great garden centre with a fantastic selection of plants, flowers, garden tools etc. Moderately priced but it is always worth paying extra to support small local businesses.
The dining area has plenty of seating with a decent selection of hot and cold food. Just be aware it can get fairly busy at lunchtime. There is a separate deli counter/butchers which has a good selection of local produce.
They have recently renovated parts of the centre which have given it a more contemporary look including some lovely landscaping.
Just be prepared to have the odd plane taking off nearby now and then which was quite a shock when it first happened!
Overall a lovely place.
N. R.
Sensory heaven.
Fab flowers, etc everything for the garden. New café with extensive indoor and outdoor seating. Delicious in-house baked cakes. Friendly atmosphere.
New butchers counter and fish monger. Spotlessly clean.
T. C.
Amazing environment. Has developed a lot over the years to suit everyone, gardener or not. Wonderful large restaurant Fantastic customer services. Large variety of plants. Don’t forget a big wallet because things are a little pricy. 2 muffins and 2 drinks costed me £13. I still visit regularly though. Love the place
A. K.
A great place, very good and reasonably priced food. Garden centre is massive, many unusual plants and other items for sale. Well worth the hour long trip to get there! A real star in these times of declining standards.
j. D.
The food was lovely, however,
Would not visit the restaurant again due to the loud acoustics of the noise.
The shape of the roof and the materials used make for a very noisy lunch.... We actually wrapped our food up and took it home.
Not the place to visit for a relaxing lunch or afternoon tea. Left with a bad headaches..
P. M.
Great garden center. Food is gorgeous, and the kids love walking in the gardens too
K. Y.
I would like to thank Andrea, Sue and the other lovely lady who helped me yesterday in fulfilling my request for Lavender plants. They were all so helpful, their customer service and kind approach are truly appreciated. The plants which I collected today are livelt too. Thank you. Judith Young
A. C.
One of my favourite places for a browse, a stroll, a lunch or just a cuppa.
Helpful, friendly staff - and they have an excellent butcher, fishmonger and greengrocer located within the site.
M. R.
Food and veg is excellent here as are the plants and the cafe. A one stop garden centre for everything. Try the cafe for its now famous sausage rolls.
A. B. B.
What a place do not miss it , beautiful gardens to look round aswell as the nursery
M. C.
The gardens are amazing lovely walk
The centre has a wonderful pond I adore
The cafe is clean and nice to look at
The Mississippi mud pie I had was amazing 😍
Highly recommended coming to this one off place 🥰
C. P. (.
Excellent garden centre with a very large range of everything to do with the garden including things not seen at many other garden centres. This is definitely catering for the premium end of the market with some impressive trees costing in excess of £1000 each. Nice. Large car too. Will definitely be making a return visit soon!
L. K.
Went to the Garden Restaurant today Saturday. It was busy as I would expect. The food was great as always. And we were served by Lucy and Lorraine. They were very busy and had had a few moans from customers in front of us about how it had changed etc.But they were very professional and welcoming to us.That’s all you want when going out for a coffee and cake etc.All the staff at Walkers are great. And it’s a great nursery.Thankyou Girls.
G. A.
Great place to go. Always new stock arriving and fantastic dining areas
S. C.
Lovely garden centre with hidden extras, a cafe, cake shop, vegetable stall (certain days) and butchers. All good quality.
J. H.
Lovely selsction of plants, trees and wonderful gifts to buy. Our daughter-in-law chose a beautiful Eucalyptus tree and a plant pot for her birthday
I.
Fantastic place for nice walk and spending time with friends or family
I love it and always will be backing 😍
V. F.
Good selection of plants pots etc. Can get very busy.
Lovely gardens to walk around
J. H.
The gardens/grounds are amazing, we didn't notice until leaving them that dogs aren't allowed in... (oops) which is a shame as they loved it, I'm guessing owners that don't clean up after their dogs is the main concern which is understandable as the gardens are immaculate.
The garden centre is really good, lots of quirky things in there, for example you can essentially buy chunks of castle ruins to be placed in your garden. The plants are all good value which is why we always come away with a full car.
The only bit I'm not a fan of there is the food, they have a restaurant & a little cafe (I haven't had anything from the cafe as they're not my thing), the restaurant food wasn't very interesting or notable in any way. I wouldn't eat there again. It's also very cramped (I can't really get my head around why, I'm guessing others must enjoy it). Now if we go there hungry we'll grab something from the deli counter bit in the shop which is brilliant.
Edit: decided to try breakfast at the restaurant bit to give it another shot - it was bad. Very greasy, fatty bacon, must be tinned mushrooms as they are slimy & tasteless, the toast was essentially soggy bread & it was expensive which we wouldn’t have minded if it was great but it was not. Hopefully I’ll remember never to eat here again this time.
M. S.
Tranquil. Good variety of products. Excellent restaurant meat and potato pie to die for yummmmmy!
B. T.
Lovely garden centre - easily spend a couple hours browsing. The outside gardens are lovely to walk around as well.
j. g.
Fabulous place to visit!
Food is always delicious. Meat and potato pie is just the best 😋
Highly recommended
E. C.
Great price for plants but other items such as solar lights was a little pricey. Good food in the cafe.
S. Q.
Wonderful meal and just love the show gardens. They are a must for any visitor .
E. T.
Beautiful place. Lots of rododendrons and other nice flowers. Super...
P. B.
New restaurant is very nice with a good breakfast, the only issue being once you get your food you have to queue up to get drinks and pay.. Meanwhile your breakfast is going cold 🤦♂️
D. S.
Heard lots of reports about breakfast so thought i will try it - very disappointed - its a self serve buffet style which usually means its lukewarm apart from beans/tomatoes and so it proved with cold toast - £11.95 i feel given ltd to 8 items i thought in comparison was pricey so needless to say wont be recommending it.
J. D.
I like this garden centre it has got so many beautiful items the cafe is lovely too
v.
Been coming to Walkers Nurseries for over 10 years and have had the pleasure of watching it expand over the years , the owners are committed to making this place has nice as possible ! First of all there is a large carpark close to where you need to be, large well stocked garden centre , they offer a service to carry out landscaping to your garden with photos around the place of gardens they have done in the past . There is a very nice cafe on site coffee ,cakes or a full blown dinner. The best part in my opinion is the gardens with serveral fish ponds, the gardens are free to walk round and must cost a fortune to maintain 😁
C. W.
No wonder my children always say yes to a trip to walkers with my mother. Changed an awful lot since I was a teenager. Brilliant place to go for a few hours. The butcher's also, steak and burgers are of the highest quality.
N. K.
one of the plants I got was already dying in store; but it was the only one of its kind left. another one was bought with a pest and did not survive.
M. C.
Good cafe, slightly expensive for the quality but very nice ambience, queue service system. Loads of choice in garden accessories, plants, furniture and beautiful gardens. Plenty of parking no dogs allowed except guide dogs
D. P.
We've been to Walkers Nurseries loads of times over the years but we recently went, they've renovated the restaurant and its fantastic and open, the staff are lovely and the food choices are plentiful. I had a ploughman's platter and didn't think I could eat it all! Would highly recommend 👌
J. M.
The garden centre is lovely but what let it down was the restaurant. We stopped for a drink and a chat but couldn't hear each other despite only sitting at a table for 2. It was too wet to sit outside but have decided only to return for something to drink when the weather is nice enough to sit outside.
D. K.
Beautiful place. Lots of landscape work currently being carried out, which will look fab once completed.
The new cafe/restaurant does excellent homecooked food at reasonable prices. Excellent quality local butchers and fruit & veg shop too. Plenty of parking places. I've only visited a couple of times during the week, which was fairly busy, so I can imagine it gets very busy at weekends. Well worth a visit though.
M. M. M.
Wonderful, peaceful, clamorous, an unforgettable aroma and very well taken care of.
S. B.
A fantastic day spent with Malcom, very knowledgeable and passionate about beekeeping, would definitely recommend this experience as an introduction to beekeeping, thank you very much Mal, also after enjoying our inclusive dinner we will certainly return to the cafe for a spot of lunch x
D. T.
Nice place to visit but could do with pricing there cakes in the cafe...they will lose out because people don't ask....I for one didn't
A. H.
Fantastic place. Very well laid out. Excellent parking
S. K.
Fabulous garden center an beautiful gardens with structures an ponds to walk round would recommend to anyone xx
D. G.
Lovely place, nice garden for a little walk, and the cafe is very nice but can get a little busy
K. C.
Always lovely staff and there garden centre has everything you need to and the new restaurant has amazing food always spotlessly clean to
P. A.
Great selection of plants and gardening tools, dahlias we're a bargain. Had a wonder around the gardens, which is free and there's things for the kids to do too.
S. R.
Such a wonderful day, so much to see, the new cafe is really nice
G. B.
Always a wide selection of quality plants to choose from and now gone the extra mile and provided us with a super smart airy cafe Well done Walkers
R. W.
The new cafe is lovely, very spacious. Food was really nice and well worth the money.
m. g.
Lovely garden centre, great xmas range, beautiful gardens for a walk round in the sunshine and a nice little cafe
F. A.
Beautiful Garden, but not a place if you're looking for indoor plants (very few selections). A bit expensive as well.
L. E.
Did a bit of post Xmas bargain shopping for tree decorations, picked up a couple of pots as well, all great prices. Decided to treat myself to a coffee. Was there about half an hour and I saw that everytime customers vacated a table the staff were so quick to clear up and clean the tables. I've not seen this level of consistent attention to making sure people had a clean and safe area to sit and eat for months many places have become complacent but not here.. Well done to the team for keeping their customers safe.
S. L. (. L.
Must say, I'm impressed with the new cafe/restaurant building. Very light and airy. Popped in this afternoon with a couple of friends for "light refreshments". Highly recommendable.
The butcher department looked interesting, so I'll have to go back another day to sample their products.
B. V.
Too beautiful!
P. M.
Lovely garden centre and tea room, delicious cakes
A. T.
Been coming here years and great how its developed to reflect what customers want from a garden centre experience.
S. S.
Lovely garden centre with the bonus of a brand new fab cafe and butchers. Only downside, its not dog friendly.
H. M.
Good variety of plants and homewards. Slightly confusing layout, could do with better signage. The cafe has moved and no signs to where its new location is nor the fantastic butchers which is newly opened on site
M. C.
Lovely place, great cafe, butchers and cakes, amazing
L. F.
It is not only a great garden center but it has a tearoom and a cafe...the food is excellent and all freshley made on site and locally sourced...there's always lots of other things going on too for example..they have run bee keeping classes in the past!
T. E.
Be warned very busy on Sundays. Loved the new cafe/restaurant, clean, helpful staff and tasty food. The buns are to die for. Also the new butchers/ fish market looked great.
M. C.
Lovly place, the garden was nice and same with the garden centre
T. P.
Like all garden centres today, Walkers is no different in selling a variety of furniture, household gifts and of course everything for the garden. Where they differ from other local centres is the standard of the plants and flowers they sell, all I can say is that these are excellent!
Combined with the recently opened cafe it makes for a lovely couple of hours deciding which plants and flowers we need.
A. P.
Worth a visit. Lunch time very busy. Good choice of food.
T. C.
Great place to walk round, has some lovely items for sale, good food in the cafe and a lovely garden to walk round
T. M.
Meat & potato pie, & puddings to die for, staff very polite & helpful, my favourite place X
S. W.
Lovely place, great food, good all round.
L. R.
We took our mum for lunch today & were not disappointed, she had a mini scotch egg sald which was lovely & very well priced, my husband had curry & rice which he said was lovely & I had the quiche Lorraine said & chip which was delicious. The garden centre its self was really well set out with beautiful healthy plants, the staff were all very helpful & friendly. We will definitely be visiting again.
J. S.
Amazing grounds, beautiful place. Quiet expensive but definitely worth the visit 👍😁
D. C.
Lovely place for a picnic and a walk round the garden centre
c. a.
Beautiful large garden to explore. So pretty and charming. The garden centre right next to it has good quality products. It's hard not to buy anything. Lol.
T. H. T. G. C.
A really lovely place. The deli is amazing, we enjoyed some sausage rolls to go and then after a cup of tea in the cafe (great value too, i lost count of how many cups we got out of the pot) we went back for a cake which we ate at home.
Amazing variety of plants, trees, shrubs... i left with lots of inspiration and ideas for our little garden. There is everything you could need here no matter what size your plot of land, and the gift shop is great too. Unique and unusual pieces, highly recommend Walkers. We'll be back soon.
K. P.
Excellent place I took some photos. Love this beautiful place.
H. S.
Walkers garden centre is our guilty pleasure, be it our obsession for the plants to the excellent delicatessen & also its wonderful garden stroll it is a must visit.
C. H.
Amazing garden center with everything you could ever need.
Also has a Butcher , fishmonger and Award winning Fruit and Veg stall.
You will need half a day to have a proper visit.
S. M.
Travelled from Manchester to visit. Lovely garden centre, lots to see and buy. Amazing bakery, gutted I came when they had no egg custards(my fave)! Took home a (not made in) Manchester Tart instead! Lol. Beautiful new restaurant. Greeted by the lovely Saloni on a very busy school holiday day! Very attentive and helpful. Managed the floor fabulously and is an asset to the business. Cleaning staff very quick, tables cleared and ready for use amazingy fast. Looking forward to coming again soon. David and Shaz
T. G.
Fantastic place and people.
I found all I need in this amazing family store.
+ Beautiful garden open for public
T. A. W. F. R.
SIMPLY EXCELLENT
A must place to visit present staff and well-organized garden centre with the advantage of it being very close to the Doncaster Sheffield Airport so you can see the planes landing on a clear day
M. Y.
Website says open at 10:30 but car park was very busy, looked like people had been there a while before so not sure about actual opening time. Very nice though, as always.
D. M.
Ate in their new cafe. It was very nice.
Excellent garden centre. Shame it's not closer to home.
N. K.
I have travelled all over the country visiting garden centres but the one I really enjoy visiting is Walker's in Blaxton. The choice of plants and garden accessories is extensive. Further produce is readily available cakes, biscuits, jars and bottled cooking ingredients all eating and kitchen products are there to purchase.
Good menu in the restaurant and take away choice.
Finish your visit with a walk around the ornamental gardens. Brings you to a welcome state of mindfulness to feel good to travel home.
A. S.
New cafe is I good improvement. Good place to look round and enjoy adjacent gardens
M. A.
Fantastic family run garden centre. I have being using walker's since the 80's and it has grown massively but still privately owned and run by knowledgeable staff high quality plants and shrubs plus gift shop, deli counter and restaurant. I've moved from Blaxton to near Lincoln but still go there it's wort the drive .very busy on weekends.
M. W.
Not been here for ages and my how it's grown. Only went to collect money from and refill the RSPB pin badge box but had a good look round. Pleasant helpful staff. We have 2 boxes there, one in restaurant and one at main exit and both do very well.
O.
Excellent garden centre very unique place. The coffee shop is nice as well everything quality and fresh. Would reccomend
d. w.
Went for a Sunday lunch carvery in the new restaurant. We had Turkey and Beef, they were very tasty. Meat perfectly cooked and the vegetables spot on. Would highly recommend it.
M. F.
Lovely garden centre. Enjoyed a nice lunch, although we shared a table with strangers, as it was very busy in the small cafe. I believe they are building a bigger restaurant space, opening next year.
C. K.
Best garden centre and gardens in Yorkshire
Highly recommended
Decent coffee too
P. H.
Lovely place for food and a walk round the grounds.
C. C.
First time we had visited the new coffee shop and we weren't disappointed, lots of seating and lovely selection of foods.
The centre is the same with a fantastic range of plants and associated products.
R. B.
Lovely walk around the gardens with rhododendrons just starting to flower.opposite the carpark ..the garden centre ..us lovely new restaurant reasonably priced..worth a visit.
T. W.
Fantastic garden nursery, it's massive with lots and lots of plant varieties to choose from and every ancillary item I could think of. Everything from big choosing hundreds of pounds for a big container plant to the smallest £3.99 put plant which are as good a value as I've come across. Highly recommended. And there's really big ground to enjoy a walk around at no cost.
A. E.
Love this place. A gentle walk around the large garden area followed by a lovely bite to eat in the restaurant. You can spend a couple of hours here doing just that, and then walk back through the plant sales and shop area. Absolutely stunning garden area set to the side of main building is a must see.
C. B.
Meal was delicious. Was absolutely spoilt for choice. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Christmas decorations on sale were beautiful. Couldn't resist buying cakes on the way out, so much choice.
M. T.
Excellent Garden Centre, one of the best we've been to...not only great plants with an amazing choice but brilliant food and a lovely walk around the gardens.
A. Q.
Great weather for it. Lovely place to visit for walks and the shop. Would be rude not to go in there and buy a jar of something or other!
C. R.
Lovely place for a meal and beautiful gardens and garden centre
Z. B.
Good choice of goods, had a good turkey dinner, food always excellent
L. M.
Extremely poor cafe service. No sense of customer service. Staff wandering around not noting queues are building up. One girl thought it was more important to refill crockery and stood looking gormless. One staff member had a plate of food and walked around trying to find who it belonged too. Maybe management need to review how this is run?
H. C.
The BEST natural and quality garden around. The food home cooked the cakes and savouries/ treats to take home are so full of flavour and tasty. Very rare to find such amazing choice.
Theres love from a family run business. Such a large and unique range. So much care and individualism you simply have fine tuned this gorgeous place,it keeps its quality roots but also gets better each year.
M. G.
Excellent selection of plants, pots and gifts. Lunch was fabulous 😋
J. W.
Walkers was recommended to me a couple of weeks ago and as it was a nice day I thought I'd give it a look. I was amazed at the beautiful walks and then went for refreshment in the Garden Restaurant. Great range of food and drinks available and at a very reasonable price. Finally picked up a few plants for my Summer pots. Altogether an excellent morning out. Will definitely be back.
A. C.
Really nice place to visit, nice products, great food. Lots to see and explore if you have the time.
T. T. T.
Great Garden Centre.
Visited the new café/restaurant today. Very impressive with it, also the Butchery & Fish shop is Excellent. 👍👍👍👍👍☕☕
D. D.
Nice place to spent some time nicely, eventually spent some money 😉
D. H.
Lovely place for a wander around the landscaped gardens, a mooch around the garden centre to pick up ideas and nice plants and a bite to eat and drink. The cafe was busy even on a Monday so very popular. Food good and varied.
D. M.
Great garden centre, large selection of plants etc, there is 2 cafe here, although only one open with the current covid restrictions at the moment, There is a fabulous delicatessens where there is baked savoury and sweet items.. Nice addition of home goods and gifts. There is also beautiful gardens for you to enjoy within the grounds. If I could change anything it would be for them to offer the same cakes and savouries in there cafe as you can purchase in delicatessen or at the very least invite people to purchase there cake and take it with them to enjoy with a beverage from there cafe, I'm only saying this as I've found the choice in the cafes is not as good, not a biggie though, we go regular and always enjoy our visits
M. H.
Realy lovely garden centre with nice cafe, not too expensive either.
Lovely place well worth going to.
J. J.
Lovely gardens, friendly staff!
J. B.
Beautiful grounds ..not the cheapest cafe but worth it
A. H.
Love this place, friendly staff, great products and the Deli counter is brilliant. Definitely reccomend
M. M.
Large variety of plants and not only. Also staff very knowledgeable and helpful.
e. l.
Went to try out the new butchers. I have known the butcher from doncaster Market and his meat is fantastic. Followed him to walkers and once again he hasent disappointed. Brilliant product Brilliant price and an all round nice guy. Cheers Phil
R. m.
The best sausage rolls available at the deli!!! Black pudding sausage rolls! If they have them when you go in, buy them as they will be gone when your leave! Great cafe! Staff are really welcoming and food is top quality!!
S. B.
Great place to walk round and get ideas. Everything you could think of for your garden you can probably get from here. Lovely restaurant on site too, so you can take your time deciding what you want
a. s.
Would have been a "5 star" but asked for extra shot in coffee and it was still very weak.
Otherwise loved all the Improvements.
Staff are all excellent and very friendly.
H. M.
Fantastic little place. Took my daughter for the first time. She had an amazing experience. All staff where great and helpful. Then we had a cuppa and cake. Absolutely beautiful in a lovely environment.
J. C.
This Is a very tranquil place the large outdoor space you can walk around is amazing the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly with a very large selection to choose from. The food in the cafe is very nice and reasonably priced
m. W.
Perfect for all types of gardener. The restaurant is good. The butchers and fishmongers really, lots of choice
H. B.
I go to walkers regular to meet friends for coffee, today was disappointing.
I fully understand they are always busy, and today the potting shed was closed, unknown reason, so as a result the main restaurant was very busy so had to wait for 20mins for a table.
My main disappointment today was lukewarm warm coffee. I had flat white and my friend has cappuccino, both were lukewarm. My other friend had tea and was given a dirty cup.
Don't know if they had any hot water/electrical issues but will think about returning as i do if things dont improve
R. L.
Beautifully landscaped gardens with water features and extensive walks covering several acres. Shop is excellent with something to suit every taste, plants are healthy looking and well priced. Would recommend the cafe.
A. L.
The wife and I tried out the new restaurant at Walkers gatden centre and we were really pleased. There's much more seating available in 3 separate areas, and the food was well presented and absolutely delicious!
S. S.
Best Garden Centre I've ever been to and the restaurant is excellent. Compliments to the chef!
P. W. (.
Great garden centre with plenty of choice time and time again.
A. F.
How had I never been to this place before. Great garden centre along side the cafe/restaurant bakery and butchers. Great place to spend a few hours
D. B.
Amazing place. Found by accident to be honest but really liked this garden centre. All setup in different areas and well thought out, good selection of plants, all look well looked after and healthy.
J. B.
The gardens are excellent but the actual garden centre is lack lustre. They have so much space and could make it so great. It's just a bit dull. More exciting plants at B&Q to be honest.
a. j.
Great garden centre it always has what need and more great cafe great place for lunch
B. C.
Beautiful gardens to stroll through. Just about every plant you could want available. Cafe and kisok staff are all covid aware and follow all the rules, from checking in to promptly wiping surfaces when customers leave. A little pricey but the food is very nice. Toilets spotless.
T. M.
Absolutely love this place, everyone visit is a joy.
Nice cafe, beautiful gardens and lovely unique items in the shop and don't even get me started on the deli 💖🌺🌻🌼🌺💖
N. B.
Great place and the garden is great to get around and have a look
S. P.
Great garden centre with good variety of gifts aswell as plants quirky gifts, cards etc. Some things are pricey though. Huge caroarks with ample overflow parking available. Good cafe area with lovely fish ponds and woodland walks
P. H.
I took mum for some lunch and a wander around. Very easy to get a table and service was great. Lovely friendly staff.
Mum had a ploughman's and I had a baked potato with tuna. Both meals were lovely.
S. W.
Top rated garden centre with lovely grounds
E. C.
Very pleasant afternoon, helpful staff and good food and service in the new large airy cafe can't wait for the dinosaur area to open well done to all the team
L. G.
Nice garden centre and very reasonable prices. Always a good selection of plants and pots.
Really nice to walk around the gardens as well.
The coffee shop is okay, but the coffee it's self I would not recommend.
G. S.
Wow lovely place to visit . Family owned garden center. That has excellent knowledge of plants . Great advise . Plants that are cared for and not just stood outside a supermarket.
c. h.
Been today had Sunday dinner with friends, recomend a visit
D. B.
bakery prices gone up slightly but the sausage rolls have nearly disappeard in size. hot chocwas very bland in taste not like it used to be. prices creaping up all through the garden centre but i suppose this is same as most places but wont be going again for long time
c. b.
Well laid out garden centre with a little bit of something for everyone.
Christmas trees were the in thing when I visited, plan to return soon as the festive period is over.
Restaurant and a small quieter area here, food is amazing and well worth the current charges.
Seems to be a good selection of various plants for the time of the year.
Well worth a visit.
j.
Lovely morning spent here, lovely breakfast, will definitely go back to try lunch, steak pie, chips, mushy peas looked mega, staff brilliant
k. w.
Really like this place. A really good selection of plants and garden accessories. Excellent cafe/restaurant and the small deli in the shop is great with well priced cakes, savouries etc.
W. H.
Excellent meals (and cakes). Very friendly service. Recommend.
C. A.
Excellent food and lovely extension to the cafe
M. F.
Great centre, lots of choice and more than you would imagine. Great produce too. Just been and seen the new cafe, looks good but was very busy, will go back and try when it is quieter. The cakes look good and generous portions too.
c. c.
Absolutely lovely lots to see! Loads of plants, trees etc! Plus we was gobsmacked at the lovely green space next to Garden Centre fantastic trees and shrubs and large boulders stones really dramatic! Will been going there again and soon!!
J. D.
Lovely little place to walk around and the cafe is nice too with lots of outdoor seating. A little pricey but it has a great selection of items not just plants. There's even a bakery that sells delicious homemade goods. You can walk around the gardens too.
R. R.
Sat in the outdoor covered seating area and collected drinks from the van there. The scones were amazing but slightly grumpy server today! Otherwise a fantastic place to meet a friend for a cuppa
A. J.
We are so lucky to live in Blaxton and Walkers is mine and my husbands go to Garden centre for all our garden needs. But just as important the food is lovely and the staff very friendly and we do weekly when We can for our breakfast and coffee.
Fully recommend Walkers for a day out in the beautiful gardens landscaped, a relaxing coffee by the Koi pond and a naughty but nice home made cake fab xx
M. R.
We love this place any season of year 👌
H. M.
Lovely place to visit! Great variety of plants, pots and gifts. Lots to keep you browsing around for a while.
Cafe is great, however lacking in plant-based options (you're waiting 25 mins for the one option thats not even on the menu). The deli offers nothing in the way of plant-based items either. Very kind and friendly staff. Always love the visit.
P. M.
Nice garden centre
Good coffee shop
d. r.
Lovely walk with the dogs prior to lunch. Only downside very busy a no organisation in waiting for a table
A. L.
love this place after choosing some beautiful plants we sat in the cafe and then went for a walk in the grounds. I suggest if your not sure what you want, then take a walk around the grounds first wow this is fabulous and gives you ideas for your garden.
l. w.
First time I've been since covid started so it was lovely to come back and see how things have changed its brilliant 👏 👌 😀 breakfast was lovely too 😊
L. R.
First visit to Walker's Nurseries...
I was very impressed thought it was excellent.
Went in the cafe we had cake and coffee... lovely cake 🍰 and coffee.
Excellent!
F.
Very helpful, wife forgot a mask and they were really helpful in finding her one. None for sale but they looked around and found her a fresh disposable one from staff stock which they didn't need to do. Nice breakfast too.
T. S.
Good selection of plants, sheds and general gardening stuff. Sausage rolls from the food counter are outstanding. Majority of staff pleasant, plenty of parking, wheelchair access. A little bit overpriced on items though.
L. Y.
Lovely food in the restaurant. Great gift idea for xmas too. Kids loving the fish ponds.
N. g.
Great place to take your dog it has massive gardens opposite the garden centre to walk round which is beautiful. The garden centre itself is dog friend and even has an indoor cafe area you can take your dog in and there's also an outdoor area too. Staff are really friend and happy to help with anything. The deli also does some amazing cakes can't rate this place enough x
C. P.
Lovely gardens set out with lots of different plants and trees to buy. The food in the restaurant is very good, fresh and reasonably priced. Every item of food is fresh and tasty. The gift shop is full of different items for presents and treats. There are shelves full of composts, lawn seeds, fertilisers etc with many more outside. Across from the car park is space to wander and enjoy the day. Definitely worth a visit.
J. J.
Had lunch here and it was lovely. The whole place is really nice with lots of gardening stuff. Looking forward to visiting again when the weather gets warmer to go round the gardens. Great place if you're looking for somewhere nice to meet for a coffee
L. D.
Lovely place, one of the best garden centres around with nice cafe with plenty of choice
G. C.
Really good quality selection of plants and trees etc, new cafe is very good but need to make where to queue signage better and at the time we visited they seemed short staffed on the hot food counter
A. M. G. C.
One of the best garden centres I've been to. The range of available plants is enormous, and there's also a beautiful home/interior section. All the stock seems strong and very healthy, and the pricing is more than reasonable for what you're getting.
Unfortunately, I can only give four out of five stars, as I asked a couple of staff members about making a purchase and never received a call back (despite being told to leave my number) - but as it's a busy shop, this is totally understandable.
M. E.
Very nice to look round plus lovely cafe
T. K.
Absolutely beautiful garden centre but to call it this is a disservice as it is so much more. Beautiful gardens to take a walk, a shop, deli counter, coffee shop and small restaurant selling really good food. The plants are very healthy and the staff are so helpful. It's definitely the jewel in the crown when it comes to garden centres and I will be returning time and time again.
B. C.
Stopped over for food, the centre is very nice and well presented. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was amazing costing £20 for two mains, drinks and desert. On the way out bought some treats from the delicatessen, which are all baked onsite, very generous portions and the prices are excellent.
D. G.
Walkers garden centre is one of our regular rides out too. They have a good variety of everything from cakes to ornaments to cards. Lovely coffee shop where you can get a good meal. Good deli counter too. They also have a snail and peacock trail in their gardens. Well worth a visit.
J. O.
We love the delicatessen there. We go and buy treats for our Christmas Eve buffet for myself and my husband to share. The food isn't cheap but you get what you pay for. Always delicious. Went today to look at their Christmas shop, for the half price sale, they do every year.
M. K.
Great garden centre with a great little cafe
S. A.
Lovely garden centre, we went purposefully for "walkers food to go" brownies are the best I've ever had! Also got a loaf and that was lovely, crispy on outside, light and fluffy inside. I would definitely recommend this place, the cafe is really nice aswel, and the garden centre sells more than just plants!!
C. B.
Good all round. Big selection. Good prices
A. P.
Lovely setting, lots of choice and the food looked lovely!
S. W.
Used to be able to have a good day out here. Could take dog and have a meal. Afterwards you could take the dog for a walk in gardens at back of park. Now they say no dogs allowed in garden walk area. Such a shame.means not worth the trip now
D. F.
We go here quite often,it's a really well stocked garden centre with a lovely cafe with a good menu choose. It's not the cheapest garden centre around this area but the plants are of good quality. We take our dog and she loves a run around the overflow car park before we go around the centre it's self with the dog as they are "dog friendly" Also look out for Peter the Peacock who strolles around the place 😊
V. L.
Great selection of plants, equipment and gifts. Very well organised with lots of inspiration. Lovely to walk round. Great quality and value plants. Fantastic cafe with the best chips and scones. We love it here!
M.
Great garden centre, lots of choice & lovely gardens to walk around. Sadly the huge new, cavernous Café has no character, no prices, no menus, no signs for the toilets & some very uncomfortable metal seats. I hope things improve...
G. D.
Always a great place to go. Fantastic indoor and outdoor plants. Lovely deli food counter and cafe when open. The gardens are also a lovely walk and great for little ones.
K. P.
Lovely garden centre & cafe, great to browse stock that is different from other garden centres.
It was a few weeks before Christmas so the decorations were out. Some beautiful baubles & trimmings and from what I've seen elsewhere the prices were much more reasonable than other centres.
This was our first visit here but we'll back, well worth the trip.
C. H.
First visit for us after it was recommended on Facebook. Was really impressed. The Christmas display was excellent and everything in the shop appeared to be a cut above the products in most garden centres. We also very much enjoyed the restaurant/cafe. Will definitely visit again.
W. S.
Lots of variety of plants and gifts. Amazing Christmas decorations on display. Lovely cup of tea in the cafe afterwards.
P. W.
Visited today with my Mother who has dementia and my wife. My mum was a keen gardener back in the day and is now in a home. What a fantastic time she had, the smell of the various flowers brought some memories flooding back for her, really amazing. We have a gem of a place just on the outskirts of Doncaster and will be visiting again soon. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff, and a fantastic coffee shop / restaurant. Would highly recommend.
B. M.
Quite busy but people being sensible and mindful of others. Lovey lunch and then a walk round. A good selection of plants a very enjoyable afternoon 😀.
S.
Had breakfast for 6 here today, full English fab!
Great place with lovely staff to make it even better,
thankyou
Sneaky purchase of mixed cakes from the counter on leaving 👌 can't miss the ll's
P. C.
This was our 1st visit to the new cafe and really enjoyed the experience. We will be back.
R. P.
Lovely place to visit came with my daughter for my birthday day out.great variety of plants. Very nice cafe. Couldn't take advantage of gardens because of poor weather. Will be visiting again hopefully on a good weather day.
E. R.
The gardens and surrounding areas are lovely to walk through and enjoy on a sunny day.
The garden centre is great and has a good variety of products.
Just the downfall is the staff in the cafe.
And really put myself and husband off returning.
C. W.
Called and had a carvery from the new restaurant. It was lovely and good value for money. We would definitely recommend 👍
J. J.
Nice enough garden centre. A fair amount of choice, decent cafe with good food bought a few bits in the deli, pork pie about 5 out of 10, too much crust.
M. L.
This is a great garden centre which has a huge range of plants and homewares. The cafe at Walkers serves really nice food which is also really reasonably priced. It is a really good place to go for a coffee and cake, sandwiches or even a full meal.
They have a large landscaped garden which you can walk around and are themed to different types or garden style.
I would highly recommend visiting this place as it is head and shoulders above any other garden centre in the local area.
M. R.
A really lovely visit. Made special by the extra care and attention given to three OAPs by James. Food amazing safety measures well thought out and plants as always healthy and a good range
M. E.
I wasn't aware of this garden centre despite it being on the doorstep. Very nicely laid out, lots of choice and decent pricing. Covid cautions made it a little awkward but that's to be expected. Friendly helpful staff and plants all appeared healthy and well maintained. Will definitely be returning.
S. S.
Lovely, spacious garden centre, coffee shop and restaurant. Plenty of choice for plants, takes you 15 minutes to look round the basic area. Good food, either snacks or full meals, also a deli counter where you can buy quiches, pasties, pies, sumptuous desserts, to take home. Good vegetarian choices.
H. A.
I preferred this place before the upgrade. It is an amazing garden center but very popular. Do go for a walk around the grounds on the otherside of the car park.
D. T.
Acres of plants (slight exaggeration 😀) to choose from here. Cafe appeared popular post lifting of lockdown restrictions. Food shop on entry and at the end of the one-way system is a fridge selling fresh quiches, pork pies, sausage rolls all homemade. Also selection of scones and sweet treats (recommended). Also there are walks, tools n sheds too.
E.
My friends & I had a lovely lunch followed by some Christmas shopping, I have been here a few times to meet with friends.
You are able to purchase food gifts, there is a counter that has freshly baked foods, smells wonderful, I have avoided, too much temptation.
This Christmas I was given a wonderful gift, I love bees & I have been given a day with the nurseries bee hives including lunch, this comes in a voucher form for me to book, brilliant I will update after I have been, what a wonderful gift.
G. L.
Massive selection of plants and garden stuff fantastic butchers and cafe.
A. M.
Excellent
range of goods, gifts toys garden equipment deli counter with gorgeous cakes and savouries. Great selection of plants both indoor and out. Coffee bar and restaurant with super moderately priced food
T. H. (. H.
A high quality garden center /day out with execptional canteen, plenty of easy parking and Japanese gardens to wander round for free.
C. C.
Bit expensive, worth a day out food is beautiful
J.
Absolutely love this place for eating in. Good variety of homeware, cupboard chutneys, gardening items and plants, trees. Etc. It has fabulous ground to walk around. Dogs allowed inside area to garden and but not on the established grounds.
J. M.
The gardens were beautiful to walk around. Only downside and it's the same with any nurseries the prices aren't cheap which is a shame as I would have brought a few more plants then.
J. G. B.
Especially,Armstrong's butchers, always good service
F. B.
Great visit, had some lunch with friends and did a little shopping.
D. G.
Lovely garden centre with lots procedures in place to help the social distancing laws staff were very helpful and polite. Catering facilities were top notch and was too. A stroll around their park is also worth a visit 👏👏👏👏
R. S.
Great walk kinda hard to find some things
H. S.
A great place to visit. Loved the garden walk.
T. P.
A very good garden centre with an amazingly wide range of plants. Plenty of parking, as is the norm, within close proximity of the entrance. We found the member of staff, that we spoke to, to be knowledgeable and helpful. The food options are also very good, both in interesting and lovely settings.
L. R.
Popped in for some food as I was passing by, ordered the full English 3 minutes after they stopped serving it but they made it for me anyway. Honestly, best breakfast I've ever had, you can tell they use they best quality ingredients. Came out red hot with everything on the he plate imaginable. Perfect. I also ordered a flat white but it was more of a strong latte, still tasted nice though. Didn't really have time to visit the shop/garden centre but what I did see looked very high standard. I'll definitely be coming back again.
L. T.
One of my favourite garden centres. The gardens in this place are stunning especially with the bridge and the fish in the huge pond absolutely beautiful place.
m. j.
Was abit disappointed there wasn't more menus
J. H.
Really lovely garden centre with a good selection of vegan food inside, however was incredibly disturbing walking past the now open cafe to hear Dawn speaking about a fellow colleague in a transphobic manner. It's a shame as it bought my mood down and made me question how safe the restaurant is for q*eer individuals like myself.
l. w.
Lovely friendly place to meet up and have a delicious meal with friends 👍
C. S.
Been going to Walkers Nurseries garden centre for over 45 years and have never been disappointed. Great place to spend a couple of hours any day of the week. Knowledgeable, helpful staff, nice new cafe, and the plants are always top quality and healthy. A walk in the gardens is a summertime pleasure. A jewel in Doncaster's crown.
P. H.
This is a very large garden centre with a restaurant and a café. There's also a substantial gift shop with a delicatessen. It's hard to think of something it hasn't got (there's no aquarium section). It has special events at various times throughout the year, with visits from donkeys, alpacas, etc. There are several disabled/accessible parking spaces next to the main entrance. The whole garden centre is accessible by wheelchair and there are several wheelchairs available for loan.
Please Like if you've found this review helpful.
G. P.
Excellent garden centre with lots to see even in lockdown. Well organised and everything on sale clearly visible. Sounds odd but we particularly enjoyed the card section. Bought a 40th birthday card for a friend and came away with 10 others. If you live within driving distance of Doncaster go and visit in lockdown. It will cheer you up.
J. W.
A very clean place, staff friendly, only draw back was the one way system, unless you went round twice you couldn't go back for something after a cup of tea in their beautiful restaurant. I understand why with covid.
D. R.
The Christmas shop is very good lots of choice the Santa's grotto is very good well worth a visit .The deli is very good plenty of classic deli items .The restaurant/cafe has a very good selection of snacks and light bites coffee is very good .The Sunday lunch at a tenner is excellent value .You can finish off with a nice walk out into the gardens and out into surrounds of the nursery. This garden centre is well worth the trip.
a. b.
Really big, huge selection of indoor and outdoor plants and garden equipment, lovely cafe/restaurant.
A. C.
Excellent service with my phone query confirmed and held at the payment desk ready for collection. A lovely Xmas display too.
K. W.
This is a great garden centre, a little on the pricey side but stocks a fantastic range of garden equipment as well as a wide variety of plants, shrubs and trees. There is a lovely restaurant that serves lots of drinks, snacks and meals, including a carvery on a Sunday. There is plenty of parking and a shop that sells food and drinks along with gifts.
J. R.
Visited today just to be nosey at the new cafe it was OK clean functional things are still being built outside unsure what got to admit it lacked something maybe the lovely little van or the tables of people meeting up that we used to see just seemed a bit impersonal
A. D.
Lovely garden center... Great selection of plants and homeware. And garden ornaments and pots. Shame the queues were 50 ppl long to get refreshment,so we didn't bother... But overall a lovely garden center ..
E. H.
Gorgeous plants, lovely decorations loads of knick knacks and excellent prices. Amazing setting to wander through, really relaxing shopping
J. J.
Lovely garden centre which is dog friendly it as a lovely cafe and a restaurant, lots of different areas and a lovely walk area outside. Great for plants and a small interiors area plus a fantastic counter full of buns, cakes and pastrys it smells delicious.
C. S.
Nice early visit this morning, Xmas things in and lovely to see. Went into the garden cafe realy enjoyed the drink and bacon sandwich.
A. J.
Lovely place where you can kill a few hours. The gardens are pleasant to walk around, lots of interesting things to buy and a beautiful deli. Restaurant is decent and as a garden centre it's up to scratch. Highly recommended.
B. W.
Enjoyed my time there lots of lovely plants and tea and cake to top it off.
J. E.
Great restaurant, and lovely show gardens to explore, for free!
A. D.
***Update***
An understandable reply and a very kind offer of free breakfasts.
We revisited the cafe this morning and very much enjoyed our meals, which were back to a high standard. Our grandson who we have for the day also enjoyed his egg and sausage.
Super service btw.
Thanks again
***Update***
Cafe: Deliberately avoided breakfast at home, opting for a full English at this place. Got there at 10.30 only to be told they'd run out of bacon AND sausage. It wasn't even busy!
Bad planning 🙄
C. M.
Amazing garden centre, has lots of lovely produce and gifts, books, toys etc... The cafe is lovely for a quick stop or meal. Also the brownies are a must try!
The Santa's grotto is the best, I have visited every year over the past 3 years and it's well worth the wait!

Fantastic garden centre with a marvellous cafe best sunday roast ever

The biggest issue I have here is deciding whether to have cake or a meal. Fantastic food and amazing coffee in the cafe. The staff in the cafe and the garden centre itself are very friendly and helpful and we love coming here. We rarely go elsewhere for anything garden related.
L. W.
Fantastic range of plants and other items. Lovely coffee shop. Lovely setting. Very pleasant ladies on the tills.

Food could be warmer. Sleeping Policeman just inside the gate is far too big, and catchs the underneath of cars doing damage.

VERY expensive. Many items are priced well above recommended retail prices. Restaurant also pricey. I'm on a diet and got a dry salad and a bit of chicken. They charged me £7.50. I asked if I could have a slice of bread with it and was told they would have to charge me extra for it! Having said that, its nice to browse and has a lovely garden with a free treasure hunt for the kids.

I've been here a few times now, I live in Scunthorpe so travel about 30 to 40 minutes to get here, its one of the best garden centres I've been to in a long time, as well as the usual gardening items, cafe and gifts you can buy from a garden centre, they have a really nice walk next to it, I think this is something they have done themselves again with seating areas, it's a nice place to go and would definitely recommend it.

This a a big garden centre with two eateries one is a smaller cafe and the other offering full dinners I have eaten in both and they are delicious, I love that the little cafe has lots of random mismatched china teacups, it's sweet and pretty. The garden centre is bigger than most with several acres of gardens to walk round, a weird fact that makes it attractive to kids is it backs onto the airport so my children love it when a plane comes over low. Also in spring the ponds are full of tadpoles and frogs so again added value if you are taking them for a walk and a run round. I would like to see a small outdoor play area , there is plenty of space away from the main garden centre I think this would open it up to a wider age group and more outside seating or few picnic tables in the gardens Definitely worth a drive out for especially on a nice day so you can take the garden walk.

Best garden centre in Doncaster. Always loads of flowering plants and shrubs. Everything you can wish for for your garden. Staff are really lovely and helpful. Good choice of food if you fancy a bite to eat as well as lovely cakes
A. H.
The best garden centre in Doncaster if you ask me! As an Auckley resident for many years this place was on my weekend days out almost every week. Good selection of plants (not the cheapest but quality is normally good) and the house wares are good too. Personally I preferred the place before the renovation but still good.
B. C.
Went for breakfast, bit on the expensive side £20 for 2 full English breakfasts with drinks. It was all very good, the award winning sausage was yummy but a bit overcooked. To make it worth the money change the black pudding to stornoway black pudding, also award winning, it would make this breakfast perfect!
J. R.
Friendly staff. Lovely place to eat and shop.. Excellent food. Definitely recommended
C. C.
Beautiful garden centre with amazing option of plants in safe and pleasant surroundings. Very helpful staff. Good prices.

Great selection of garden plants, also have quite a lot of indoor plants. There is a gift shop and restaurant and also a tea room for snacks. They have a good selection of bird and wildlife feed and feeders. Parking for disabled just outside the shop although there are only about six places
J. P.
Enjoyable visit, lovely deli area and able to get a drink and use toilets. Nice displays of products and plants were well watered
K. S.
Time never stands still here. They are always expanding and growing. The fresh meat and fish section. The new resteraunt. Great food and excellent service.A must stop. They sell garden stuff too. :)
C. C.
Large selection of items for the home and garden
M. G.
Love visiting here. All plants are really good quality and plenty of variety.
P. S.
Love this garden centre great plants and lovely restaurant excellent staff always helpful
J. S. (.
Delicatessen and Christmas department great, fancy goods delightful. Cafe chaotic and very poorly and inefficiently laid out, food ok. Disappointingly the till system was down when we were there so they were only able to take cash - which meant we couldn't buy much!!
C. L.
Excellent selection of plants, pots, furniture, etc. Very large, newly built cafe and restaurant.
F. S.
Need more seating for busier times at restaurant. Latte regular was very small.Seem to always be running out of food ?Perhaps prepare more in advance. Prices a little steep for Yorkshire area .
S. V.
Big garden centre plenty of nice things but found myself walking round in circles things not very organised
J. C.
Best garden center in the area.Helpful staff not over expensive. Plenty of parking.Nice walk's a round the gardens. Great coffee shop and restaurant. Very good selection in the gift shop. There is now a shed showroom on site. The owner's of branton garden center should take a trip up and see how it's done
S. M.
Really nice relaxing visit.
Bought a few pots, bought a few plants. Bought a coffee.
All reasonably priced.
Staff chirpy and friendly.
A. F.
Really lovely snacks in the cafe. They also do hot food. Nice coffee too. Great selection of plants. Overall a really nice garden centre. Also a lovely walk around the gardens.
C. O.
Lovely place, they are making changes, one of my favourite place's, food always top notch
G. C.
A lovely garden centre with an extensive display of bedding plants, indoor plants, herbs, shrubs and trees. Attractive display. Plant pots of all sizes, sheds, gazebos, tools, birdfeeders & food. A large clean cafe with delicious food and drinks. A beautiful & extensive show garden with ponds, standing stones. I could go on & on. A visit for a wander around the plants etc & lunch is highly recommended.
C. S.
A big garden centre with plenty of things to see plant wise, as well as gift ideas. Food café and bistro had a nice selection of food and was of good quality , staff were friendly and helpful.
B. M.
Wonderful place full of variety and high quality. I will be returning soon 👍
C. B.
A garden centre with a difference. Yes, many garden centres have a cafe of some sort, but this has a good range of snacks and more substantial meals. Best thing of all though are the beautiful grounds you can walk round - not just flower beds, it's much bigger than that. Went there on one of the recent hot, sunny days. Our grandchildren playing hide and seek, someone walking their dog, someone else sunbathing.
Have a look around the shop, buy some cakes to take home, get a coffee, go for a walk - perfect. Oh, and you can also buy plants there!
e. D.
Very busy with too few people on the till. I always feel the plants are pricey but of high quality. The humorous card selection is excellent
C. W.
Lovely as always, not convinced by the new restaurant, very impersonal, loud and not cosy. Every conversation and noise echoes.
A. R.
I used to really like it here but find it really expensive. It's great if you want scones, cakes and coffee but simple salads and sandwiches are amiss. I find the staff are in a world of their own here and not particularly on the ball
T. B.
Lovely garden centre, went for a meal with friends, had the roast belly pork with tomatoes and black pudding, service was good, food was nice and hot and tasty, only downfall I found is that with a small bottle of orange juice it came to £12.50 ish which unfortunately I find quite expensive , they do pile your plate up quite a lot which I puts me off , so I asked for less food only had the meat and a few chips but got charged the same, can't understand why they don't serve smaller portions , there are a lot of elderly people who don't always want gigantic portions , this way they could charge a much lower price or do pensioners specials , I can get a lovely meal nearer to home at half the price so don't think I will be going back for the food , though apart from that did enjoy my visit
L. H.
Lovely large selection of sometimes unusual plants trees and shrubs. Don't forget to visit the cafe, the food is great and the coffee...good....and large! Perfect combination for a caffeine lover.
S. L.
Best garden centre in Yorkshire. Brilliant mix of garden plants and product's. A wonderful cafe/restaurant serving hot food and superb cakes. There is something for everyone, I recommend you pay a visit.
m. g.
Well set out. Eclectic assortment of products. Reasonably priced.
C. T.
Visiting friends in the area I went to spend the money on a Garden Gift Token. Disappointing place for it's size. Seems to have more things that are not plant related than actual plants. All the plants looked healthy but the selection generally was average and the choice of perennials was very poor. As a nursery you would expect them to have some "not so run of the mill" plants. The cafe was staffed by just one person who also had to make the coffees. The tables needed clearing. The queues at the tills was off putting and there were only 2 ladies toilets. Walkers needs to invest in extra staff and check outs. I I came away without buying anything. Reading some of the reviews, most are about gifts and food and drink. Shouldn't it be about plants?
J. B.
Good choice of plants , food counter has a nice selection of takeaway food, will call back again soon.
k. h.
Good garden centre new restaurant a bit big and echoey food was just ok
M. B.
Lovely garden centre with a lovely restaurant. Had a vegetarian breakfast & simply delicious. Wife had scrambled eggs on toast & lovely as well. Definitely worth a visit.
D.
Great cafe, lovely selection of plants and other gardening accessories
D. G.
Bit pricey comparing other outlets. Should be able to get anything you need..
Lovely gardens to walk around on right hand side of car park as you drive in but I never saw a signpost to tell you it was there.
S. M.
Absolutely fine with all you really need for the garden. Staff very helpful. Nice and clean.
B.
Better now open new cafe
E. D.
Absolutely gorgeous grounds to have a relaxing wonder around. Also beautiful plants etc to buy .
Go you won't be disappointed !!!
M. H.
Brilliant selection of plants, and great grounds to walk around very well set out, Family loved it, Will visit again
J. G.
Unfortunately we feel this is yet another quality garden centre that has succumbed to the trend, probably driven by financial pressure, of becoming a gift shop that sells a range of, admittedly good quality, plants! Dissapointing.
A. J.
Really good food, lots of plants and gardening equipment. We'll stocked shop and super helpful friendly staff
N. S.
Superb selection of plants, trees and flowers. Garden furniture area is great and the shop has a great selection of everything. Fair prices and quality wares. Would definitely recommend.
A. M.

Well worth a visit , Not been in the area for years but will be back soon .
J. S.
Big gardens for walking round, a lovely deli counter/butchery/bakery inside, a gorgeous tea room for light snacks and drinks as well as all the home and garden products you could wish to browse. I recommend trying the baker's homemade brownies and caramel shortcakes......wow!

Also- where do you ever find a dog friendly garden centre with its own lovingly planted woodland.
The resident peacock has sadly passed away - his screams made you jump out of your skin.
E. S.
Love this place. Saw Peter the peacock, so beautiful. I loved the Easter display by the entrance. The cafe was busy and not much choice left but afternoon tea started at 2pm.
D. B.
Lovely garden centre with lots of typical and unusual things to view, great indoor and outdoor cafe. Friendly staff.

J. W.
We love walkers, always find staff and service excellent, and the cakes out of this world, don't visit if on a diet. All meals from breakfast, lunch through to afternoon snacks are superb, fresh, tasty and plenty of it, all reasonable priced.
S. M.
A great selection of plants and tools with very friendly and helpful staff on hand to help, a bit more expensive than other places but the quality is there. Great walks around the gardens and a gorgeous koi pond next to the café make a pleasant experience in all.
D. K.
Although only four miles from where I live, I only need to visit here about once or twice a year. I never knew they had a fantastic range of books as well, so in my opinion, the BEST garden centre in Doncaster and on a main road, too!
K. D.
Excellent customer service both in cafe and Garden centre James in cafe and all the staff on food to go food top quality and nothing is to much trouble plantsar
I. H.

Parking is plenty, The garden centre has a wide selection of plants at reasonable prices. The cafe is very good, then afterwards you can walk around the lovely gardens.

Well stocked and in pleasant surrounding this very popular place with helpfull and freindly staff is well worth a visit. The food on offer in the cafe and take out counter is for the most part made on the premises and is very good value. Highly recommended.

Great garden centre. Could really make this a day out with a visit to the gardens across from the shop itself. Beautiful gardens with plenty of open space and secret pathways for the kids to explore.

Sunday morning breakfast tastes like magic in this place. Definitely recommend 🥰
V. C.
Having visited here as part of a group my first impression was that we were going to have a good day. Walking (no pun intended!) through the entrance takes you into a retail area with lots of interesting things. However we were meeting for coffee first, so when we eventually found the 'Garden Restaurant' we ordered drinks and some had cakes from the delicious looking homemade selection.
Once we'd finished we were eager to get off to walk around and enjoy the show gardens.
Off we set, however upon leaving the restaurant we hadn't any idea which way to go. Asking one person resulted in us doing a full circle and coming back to where we started! 😅
Our second request for directions was more successful for a while and we did find ourselves in the Garden. But where we were we hadn't a clue. We wandered and did enjoy what we came across. Some direction would have been more than useful.
The biggest disappointment and what is lacking here on a grand scale is signposts
The company has won awards at Chelsea and has 2 winning gardens here that they list on their website along with telling us about the 8 acre site upon which the garden centre is located.
Wouldn't you think that the very least they could do, having attracted visitors, is provide them with some kind of directions? A printed leaflet perhaps or even put a plan on the website for visitors to follow.
As a member of a large organised garden group, this is one place we will not be returning to!
Whilst walking around the garden centre we did see a large selection of trees and shrubs and some specimen trees. There's some very well established olive trees and huge , expensive, bonsai! The hydrangea selection was quite extensive, there were plenty of plants and quite a few Koi too.
In the retail area you can buy anything from cards to toys to lifesize llamas. Such a wide range of gifts, books, toys and home accessories.
And of course there's somewhere to eat and drink, two places in fact. A small cosy area for drinks and cakes and the large restaurant for hot and cold food.
Please help your visitors by providing them with some kind of assistance to the best way to enjoy your gardens.
Thank you.
J. B.
Excellent visitor experience. Has everything necessary for an enjoyable day out. Well stocked shop, fabulous food and of course plants. What more can anyone want.
G. G. G.
Went for the first time today as an alternative to Tickhill Garden Centre. We enjoyed lunch and a walk round but found it to be very expensive. Lovely mid morning/afternoon out though.
