Lovely family run nursery selling a wide variety of garden related products such as plants, pots, composts, ornaments etc. They have their own tea room/ cafe which unfortunately I don't have time to try but their not far from me so I will be going back to give it a go. As I say its family run and the staff there couldn't be nicer and more helpful, always a plus will be back 😃

Haven't been for a while so was really pleased with the changes to Woodlands, the eaterie and the addition of a gift shop. The bistro was lovely, we had club sandwiches with fried and everything was fresh and delicious. The gift shop was really impressive, stocked with makes from local crafters and then we finished by looking at all the lovely plants.

Dad had his 90th birthday afternoon tea on Saturday The food and service was outstanding. The afternoon tea was absolutely delicious every single morsel from the cheesey jacket potatoes to the mouthwatering scones and cakes 🎂 The staff went above and beyond to look after everyone from babies to my 90 year old dad. Thank you all for everything you did for us

Visited for the bistro. The eggs benedict were perfectly cooked on toasted sour dough bread with an absolutely lovely and light hollandaise sauce. Everyone loved their dishes which i can't recall what they all were (one full english ) but every dish looked and apparently tasted wonderful. Recommended.

We were lucky to be the first party to try out this newly refurbished venue. We held our friends 40th birthday here. It has been beautifully done to a high standard. The staff were very helpful. We also had the pleasure of Karl Herbert to sing. Would highly recommend.

Lots of indoor and outdoor seating for coffee or a meal. Also a fully stocked bar which is essential for a wedding venue, the reception room was not huge but ideal for wedding reception. Lots of seasonal plants on offer. Very pleasant venue.

I went here with my family on Saturday for the first time. We drove past a number of times and always said we should visit, so we did and are very glad we did. We only had coffee, tea and cake. There is a full menu there which I look forward to trying out on my next visit. I'll post more when I explore more of the grounds next time. We'll worth the visit.

Called in on Easter Monday morning about 10.45am. bought some pots and plants, reasonable prices. Decided to have coffees and a scone. Quite busy but odd tables free. Coffees arrived in 10 mins. We waited for a further 15 mins for one scone with jam/cream to arrive....had to ask a lady about it and told been busy with breakfasts☹️ in know another couple also had to chase their scones...I think another system needs to be in put in place when cakes/scones are ordered. The kitchen staff obviously have ALL the orders placed, in sure they are busy cooking hot food but Scones??? Will try another time though.

It has been a while since we have been here but it will not be too long before we're back. It has been done up really well and the food we had was gorgeous. My only small gripe it was a bitterly cold morning and when the door opened when someone came in all the heat went out of the room. Maybe a heat blanket over the door would not go amiss.

Attended a 50th birthday party in the tea rooms, the food was amazing and the atmosphere brilliant. Popped into the garden centre where there was a wide range of reasonably priced plants. They have some really beautiful flowers. I would highly recommend a visit to both.

This is a really nice garden centre nursery. There is lots on display, flowers, plants, garden furniture and ornaments, the people who run it are really friendly, they've done some work around the cafe and seating areas, and an absolutely beautiful gift shop at the top near where the stone and chippings are.

Cafe is excellent and food is well worth every penny. The actual nursery seemed a bit light on good quality plants but perhaps our visit was a bit late in the season. We ventured on to the woodland walk and a word of warning, this is not for the elderly or less fit, or the fainthearted. Proper walking boots preferably waterproof would be a good idea as once at the bottom of the valley the path is muddy and crosses a stream several times, there is only one real bridge and one tree-trunk bridge. For the rest it's wet feet. Still a fairly enjoyable day.

Brilliant, went to look for 2 large ceramic planters and we were not disappointed, they are selling a lot of them off for half price, so instead of paying £160 for the 2 we only paid £80 bargain. Would also reccomend having a look in the gift shop while there, they have some fantastic items and all at very reasonable prices supporting local crafts people which I thought was brilliant.

One of the best garden centre tea rooms around, and our favourite. Alan and Michelle's family and their staff are brilliant, very friendly and efficient. The food and coffee are excellent. The newly built extension and patio area are really beautiful and done to a great quality. If you have time, go for a walk through the arboretum and down to the burn, really lovely. Definitely worth a visit.

Took our grandkids there today after a break of nearly a year and it's still quite and comfortable but there is now less treats available for the little ones and the toy selection is a lot less than it was. But still a very good place for tea and cake.

Massively disappointing visit today. The whole place was very cold, which apparently was due to issues with the chimneys. Departing customers telling you to keep your coat on should have set alarm bells ringing but we pressed on as the food is usually very nice. It was today, when it eventually arrived 45 minutes after taking our order. It seems staff shortages were the reason for the delay today and I appreciate that will happen from time to time, but in my opinion, you inform customers of a possible delay and then as owners on site, lend a hand, which was clearly so desperately needed. We, like others there, decided we will not be back. I won't say ever as things could be different in the warmer weather. Food worth 5 stars but.............

What a fantastic, beautifull garden center, from pots to plants, great indoors and garden ornaments, statues and gifts , great new food drinks area I bought hot food and drink which was swiftly brought to us in the newly done out sitting outside fantastic clean area, the most important thing is the PRICES, fantastic realistic pricing, including the food, this place needs supporting by lots of customers, well worth the effort to travel here. Everything from plants to logs to fuel to manure. There's a crafts shop that sells a wide range of gifts and beautiful items for your home or garden. I bought a fabulous solid wood box.

It's a nursery very reasonable prices and a good range of plants. Compost a good price too 60 litre bag for £3.50 plants cost around £1.50 for 6 so a lot cheaper than mass produced garden centre s. Support local businesses as well I wouldn't go anywhere else.

This is an excellent place to visit and have coffee and lunch. The arty farty craft shop is very good and well worth a visit. The owner is friendly and a good craic. There might be walks very near, and we will be checking the area out a bit more when we next visit. The nusery and buildings look a bit rough as if it's just been set up but it does not distract from the whole set up. This might be the best place I have been to in a long time. (The pork pies are really nice try one)

We enjoy our visits to Congburn Nurseries, they have good selection of plants and other garden related products. If you fancy a cuppa or something to eat, the cafeteria will supply all your needs. My wife likes to look around the little clothes shop on site, not sure what is available as I haven't been in. For a long time they have gradually improved the business and it looks like the next addition looks like a children's play area and a outside seating area. Very good to see.

Delightful Tea Room. Relaxed, very friendly. The vanilla latte was outstanding and I had vegan maple carrot cake that was soooo delicious. Not a lot of choices for fresh baked goods, but the last time I came there was a lot more so it could just be on a sunny beautiful day, they had a lot of customers and were running short. For sitting you had wooden chairs and tables along with a couch and two large comfy chairs inside, and picnic tables or wooden chairs and tables with umbrellas outside to choose from. Along with the plant nursery, there was also a womens clothing, jewelry, shoes, and gift shop which had some wonderful bargains inside. All in all, a very enjoyable time.

I use this garden centre for fuel for the fire, 🔥 It also sells plants and bulbs, it's very reasonably priced, the cafe is closed at the moment because of the lockdown but the food there is nice and also very reasonably priced, give it a try.

We are disappointed that the play area has gone - we all thought the new refurb was going to be a new play area... (eg: soft play) we were wrong. Its not so family friendly now. It's so sad that after 7 years of going every week in the school holidays with family & friends - we now cannot go. No one told customers of the changes - nor did anyone ask what the customers want. We will have to try the cafe at Dipton.

I went to buy a Xmas tree on 2nd Dec. 2016, as were only £25 for 6-7 feet long Nordmann Fir or Norway Spruce. The young fair haired lad who showed me all the cut trees was so unbelievably helpful. He went through them as were lying out, un-netted. I said I liked one and he said, we have plenty more for you to look at , not wanting me to take first one I jumped on. I bought a beauty of a Nordmann Fir, just under 7 feet from base of trunk to it`s tip. After netting it for me, he carried it out to car and helped me get it settled in it. BEST service I have EVER had from a garden centre and in my 70 years it is the best and most friendliest one I have ever visited by far. Thanks to them all.
