Reviews of Caulders Garden Centre Cumbernauld
U. D.
Small but friendly garden centre.
Well laid out and easy to get round.
We happened to visit as they were preparing for Christmas (early November) so there weren’t many plants, but lots of Christmas things.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
We didn’t eat but the restaurant looked clean and inviting and smelt great.
Pretty sure in summer you could get a broad selection of plants.
Nice location and seems like the cafe was very popular with local people, which is always a good sign

Fantastic layout of all the pot plants and shrubs you could ask for. Really well laid out too. The restaurant is very good for teas coffees, snacks and meals. Portions are hearty! Allow yourself at least a couple of hours to enjoy this centre.

A lovely place to come for a cup of coffee, and to browse the wide range of gardening accessories and plants. The reason I like this place is that they have tastefully removed the old Dobies structure and you can see more of the original building. It's basically like getting a taste of a traditional Scottish farmhouse while browsing a garden centre - also, the staff are always really cheery even when it's busy!
Some history about the building:
Mainhead Farm (now used as a garden centre and restaurant for many years), is a category B listed building. The date of 1786 was formerly inscribed on south front, however, there were later alterations to the building. It forms a courtyard group with a farmhouse at the south side. All structures are one storey high, which is common for this area of North Lanarkshire and a lot of Scotland.
Another common feature in Scottish buildings of the time is the white-washed rubble front - which is now bare stone. It has gabled attic windows with an arrowslit motif, slate roof, and skew gables. The west range includes a two storey granary and barn (with attached octagonal horsemill) and in 1979 it still had the original roof timbers! There are also remains of the pigeon loft which can be seen inside the building.

Love here! First time I’ve been since it was taken over by caulders. Food is amazing, decent portions, and a good sized menu. I highly recommend the baked potatoes and the huge meringue! Raspberry tea is delightful too!
Afternoon teas looked fantastic and decent price.
Seating area is lovely, if you want to sit looking out on the garden area, book in advance.
Always busy and now I know why! Apparently the breakfasts are fabulous too!

Beautiful food, lovely restaurant. Abit expensive but worth it in my experience
Photo- Potato skins, club sandwich and two soups. Delicious

Really like the food, layout and ambience. There's plenty to browse and a wide selection of not-on-the High Street products.
Only down side is the rustic floor is a bit uneven for folks with mobility issues and the car park is sloped these are part of the character here though so not a huge issue and the rustic building is actually an attraction.
J. S.
Lovely place with some unusual things to buy at reasonable prices. Staff always very helpful & friendly. The food in the cafe is amazing, especially the cakes ,but best to get in early as it's very popular & often have to wait to get into cafe but well worth it.
G. W.
Very busy restaurant with great food selection and good prices. Restaurant is splints three areas which make it a bit cosy. Shopping area has an extensive stock and not just plants.
Word of warning guys, don't give your wife your credit card.
M. S.
Had an amazing lunch here. The steak baguette was delicious with plenty of steak in the sandwich. The store has a wide range of goods available to buy. Great place to go!
A. G.
Love having lunch here, would go every week if I could.
Phoned to book a table as I have a daughter with mental health issues and they couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating, made the lunch a joy not an anxiety fueled challenge.
Then theres the wander round the shop, always find something I 'need' lol
Staff are always friendly and helpful and the food is always tasty, especially the cakes 😁😁
C. O.
Little bit of a wait in the restaurant. However, the delicious food is definitely worth it. Great selection of reasonably priced garden, home and personal goods. Great selection of Christmas decorations and gifts too. I'd recommend.
M. D.
Great place to someone and have a coffee or tea and a cake or two. Good selection of cakes. Lunch menu is made fresh, well presented and tasty. Did I mention its also a garden centre.
C. L. J.
Food in the restaurant is always hot and fine.
Let down by the service, always forgetting items we ordered, we go usually once a month would be more if service was better.
Staff do not seem to care about the customers, and sometimes the food takes a very long time from ordering.
C. S.
Very nice restaurant, table service now. Friendly helpful staff. Very busy.
Usual garden centre type stuff, furniture to plants to clothes.
H. S.
Lovely garden centre , great variety of plants , beautiful shop/ gift area. The cafe is the highlight offering a great breakfast and lunch menu .

Good food, nice to be able to take dog in to outside area, would be nice if thay were able to give it a bit of a wind brake for all weather dinning.
C. B.
Lovely breakfast in cafe, had to have a takeaway cake and a great selection tion of gifts at reasonable prices.
C. G.
Gift shop nice ,went into restaurant for lunch ,homemade soup lovely ,staff very friendly, just abit pricey in restaurant feel portions could be better for the prices your paying.
M. K.
Highly recommend the food at Caulders Cumbernauld I have had both the full breakfast and items from the lunch menu (as well as a couple of cakes). Everything is freshly prepared and very tasty, the staff are very attentive and friendly nothing is a problem at all. We stay local to the garden centre and find it a very handy place to stop off and have some breakfast before a day out/ long drive or just a nice lunch. However it is located just off the M80 motorway so well worth a stop. They also do an afternoon tea which I am yet to try but I'm sure these are as good as anything else I have tried here. Well done to all the team.
R. C.
This review is of the restaurant only as that is what we visited.
Warmly received by a member of the staff and promptly seated. This warm friendly reception was repeated by all the staff whom we had contact.
We both ordered from the soup and a sandwich deal.
The soup was delicious as were the freshly made sandwiches all at a reasonable price. All in all a great experience.
D. L.
Great place loved the Christmas section very well organised. The restaurant looks nice and was RAMMED (safely) so obviously good nosh. Reasonable prices and good quility plants. We bought a couple of Heathers to add to our garden back home. Lovely place and very helpful staff.
V. G.
Helpful lady when I phoned to check they had a Ruby wedding rose in stock. Very helpful assistant, Fraser, who not only helped me to choose the healthiest looking rose and appropriate size plant pot, he then carried them to my car. Thank you.
S. W.
Recently renovated. Great selection of plants, better quality and similarly priced to B&Q down the road. Don't use the restaurant but it's always busy. Would recommend to any avid gardener.
C. E. L.
One of my Favourites. Just off the motorway. Phenomenal cafe with GF options. Decor is stunning. Pet section. House decor to purchase. Large outside section for all your gardening needs.
I. M.
Had delicious lunch. Walked round centre and had good choice of plants. Very warm inside restaurant could do with fans to cool eating area.
m. d.
It seems a "big business" very commercial compared to what it used to be. Beautiful flowers /plants as always. Lovely gift shop, albeit a bit pricey.
M. F.
Popped in for a late breakfast - vegi options included a full vegi breakfast or build your own roll. Staff were happy to swap fried egg for poached and were keen to ensure everything was cool! Lovely team. Followed up by a stroll round the garden centre where plants were aplenty and in good condition - prices comparative with most garden centres. Lots of pots to choose from too.
P. B.
Was very busy when we had lunch there.
Despite this, service was slick and staff very helpful.
Food was lovely.
A. M.
Fantastic way to break up the journey. The food looked ace! We just stopoed for a cake but i had serious food envey from sonr of the savoury dushes coming out
L. M.
Lovely place to have lunch, good quick service, lovely choice of cakes. Nice array of plants
J. G.
Food was ok. Very hot inside eating area. Small amount of ladies toilets for the size of the place., also not easy to find.
J. C.
Been several time for lunch and never been disappointed with each choice, and it's a lovely atmosphere service was great to.
A. T.
First time here, Caulders have a small selection in our local Scotmid, always great condition not like most supermarkets so thought I would visit larger branch, I was not disappointed.
f.
Had a lovely breakfast, great price.
Will be back for gift shopping soon as so many great items for sale in shop.
R. M.
Delicious food in a lovely scenic setting. Relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff.
D. E.
Nice up and coming garden centre that is more a place to visit and dine than buy plants. Only stopped for soup and sandwich but it was exceptional. The layout and environment were great and the staff were excellent. Car parking on a bit of a slope so if you have difficulties that way, try to get close to the front door.
a. w.
We stopped by for a visit and some lunch(family of 5). We have always passed by on the motorway and never stopped. Today we did and were not disappointed. The gift shop and garden centre were lovely. We arrived just before the lunch rush and had the burger, soup and sandwich, steak baguette as well as two kids meals plus drinks. Great value and We will be back for more.
C. G.
Popped in to see garden furniture. Staff were so helpful. Explained home delivery only £5 and could possibly do in next day or so. He then phoned driver and we got our delivery within a few hours of purchase. 🤩 Driver and all staff very helpful and friendly. Fantastic service and furniture is great quality. Thank you 😊
D. M.

Just want to say thank you to all the staff in Caulders Tea Room for the great service and the lovely afternoon teas they provided for my daughters surprise baby shower.
A very warm & welcoming atmosphere.
A good time was had by all😊
G. S. R.
Had afternoon Tea for 2 today with my husband, once sat down felt like we were forgotten about as after waiting sat for 15 minutes then someone came over and asked if we had been served to his surprise we said no. others sat around us afterwards were served and orders taken whilst we were sat like a couple spare parts, however slightly older woman with dark hair who served us was lovely. our order got given to another table then after they noticed it wasn’t there’s then given to us. Wasn’t too pleased with that considering covid however didn’t feel like making a mountain out of a molehill. When our coffees arrived, they were spilt all over the plates they came with the napkins underneath were fully redundant as they were soaked in coffee and stuck to the cups. My coffee cup had a lipstick mark on it upon arrival and I was a bit annoyed about it. I wiped it off and had my coffee anyway but it still shouldn’t have been there. My husband found a bit of ham on his cheese and pickle sandwich. We are not vegetarian however this is not on because we could have been and this could have been a massive issue. So better care should be taken with cross contamination. The salad had browned also so wasn’t the freshest. We have ate at this centre a few times however this wasn’t a good experience. we have told staff about a few issues before in previous visits and they have been brushed off hence the need for a review this time around. Nice garden centre but let down on this occasion.
G. M.
Fab place really nice,,great service and large portions
F. M.
Lovely lunch and afternoon tea also lots of beautiful flowers and products from furniture. Jewellery and more.
A. C.
Lovely place. Great for special gifts as well as plants & garden furniture.
I. F.
Great plant selection and the restaurant food is worth a try. Getting ready for Xmas currently
W. M.
Visited both Caulders Cumbernauld and Caulders Kirkintilloch. The staff were all most helpful, as usual. I can never fault them and they are always so nice to talk too. We went out looking for an Angel Statue and eventually arrived home with a Medium Tortoise Statue, a Dozen Large Eggs and 4 Perennial Plants. I even got a nice White Coffee with a piece of hot Apple Cake and a Large Strawberry thrown in with icing sugar at Cumbernauld.
M. B.
First time in this garden centre very impressed. Lovely gluten free breakfast
L.
Lovely shop - gifts, homeware and jewellery etc are all beautiful and the restaurant is lovely. Only negative was the plants - desperately needed water, were super dry and already wilting which was a shame 😕
K. S.
What a great restaurant/gift shop/garden centre!
s. L.
Had a lovely coffee and sandwich ,it's a lovely garden centre 😀
R. S.
A lovely alternative to motorway service stations. Just off the M80. Plenty of parking and lots of seating.
M. “. M.
First time in new restaurant area. Very pleasant atmosphere and plenty of staff. The girl who showed us to our seat was very pleasant. Only popped in for coffee which was really good. Will go back for lunch soon. Very busy place.
M. C.
Lovely dining area and food was first class.
M. M.
Cafe wicked staff and friendly staff in cafe . And wicked Christmas stuff. Ray
J. S.
Our new garden centre has a very wide range of products and services including the restaurant is now bigger and their soup is very good
Got a lovely rose 🌹 plant today for my garden
D. R.
Had a lovely Christmas meal there. Staff very attentive. Meal lovely and warm but the room was very cold. They could have been doing with switching the heating up apart from that it was lovely. I would recommend friends to go and I would go back wearing a heavy jumper next time.
E. M.
This garden centre has been vastly improved, great selection of goods and the tea room has been extended.
l. b.
Gorgeous meals lovely staff and so clean
W. S.
Fantastic garden centre, plenty of parking, indoor & outdoor areas to browse and an excellent cafe too.
D. R.
Great garden centre lots of lovely plants and local items for sale. Had a great breakfast at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend visiting there and will be going again.
N. B.
Overpriced and not great food or service. Very busy and lots of different sections made it difficult for waitresses to keep an eye on everyone so easily missed. I ordered a cheese and ham toastie with side of chips. Toastie was a basic breville toastie and chips were undercooked. All for over £10. Not great quality for the price you pay. Setting is lovely though but wouldn't go back.
M. W.
We were looking for a particular rose and nowhere else could help us. I phoned Caulders and was told they had plenty of roses. We went straight away and got exactly what we wanted. It has changed from
Dobbies recently and it is a huge difference. We also had coffee and hot chocolate in a lovely renovated restaurant. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We will definately be back.
J. K.
Had something to eat in the restaurant food good staff nice will be back
C. H.
Food was 1st class lovely place to stop
R. S.
A well stocked garden centre, caters for a wide range of budgets. I've not been into the cafe since it changed hands. Lovely to visit at Christmas. Also a great place to shop for gifts and sweet treats.
A. D.
Went for lunch. Food was delicious and cakes were huge.
P. S.
The garden centre was fairly busy when we visited (late Sunday morning). The garden centre has recently been taken over by Caulders, and areas are being renovated and cleared. Don't let this put you off though, as it looks like the work will improve the centre.
The restaurant has been extended (smart move, previous area very small, and at the time of our visit it was busy and most tables were being used). The cakes and coffee were lovely.
The centre is nicely laid out, with attractive items for sale, the plants were healthy looking and a good variety present. The time of year probably helps with that. Staff friendly, and table service in the restaurant is good.
Toilets have been re decorated and are much improved, worth a visit there too!
Nice local place to visit, worth going to!
J. M.
It's a lovely home and garden shop. I had a lovely time walking around looking at the lovely displays of products available to buy. I luckily had money to spend so with so much beautiful choice on offer it took me a while to decide but I got there and I am happy with my choices. All staff were very welcoming and pleasant and if you are thinking of going my opinion is What are you waiting for?!.
J. B.
A lovely place to enjoy lunch. Pick from an extensive menu. Nicely laid garden area with a wide range of quality plants.
j. b.
Visited 7th June, lovely place, shop area well stocked with lots of plants garden and home accs.
We had lunch, for me was disappointing, the batter on the fish was heavy and the chips were tasteless, such a shame, however I must say, the staff in the eatery were absolutely fantastic. Hope it was just an off day and will be better next time.
R. T.
As covid restrictions have been lifted, you pretty much always have to call ahead to either book a table or check how busy they are. Staff are extremely helpful and diligent at keeping tables and menu's clean.
My wife had macaroni cheese and I had the butcher's burger, both of which were delicious. No room for desert, but we know from numerous previous visits that they are always delicious too.
L. l.
Good coffee shop but expensive. Lovely cakes. Coffee had to be reheated as not warm enough and topped up as low.A few shaky tables.Nice staff.
R. S.
Didn’t have what I was looking for on my visit a couple of days ago but won’t prevent me calling again. Plant stock is really good and well taken care of, food in restaurant is excellent and well priced, staff are friendly and helpful.
Just noticed “Adrian’s” negative review about food. According to his photo he didn’t leave much 😂
J. S.
Called in here today. Beautiful. The plants are so healthy and reasonably priced. Lovely environment. I came here once when it was Dobbies and was not impressed.
Fabulous place if you love all things beautiful. It definitely shows the care, attention and pride the staff and owners have in the business. Well done.
F. M.
Had a beautiful lunch soup & sandwiches recommended all home made food staff were so friendly looking forward to our return 😀
A. B.
First visit since it's changed name & much prefer the system to be seated & table service which they now have. Staff very friendly & we thoroughly enjoyed fish & chips. I've been in 3 times this week. Once with my niece's 2 children & even though it was near closing time it was no bother for them to serve ice cream & our coffees. We'll definitely be back. A little bit pricey for cakes but still nice atmosphere.
B. W.
Enjoyed an afternoon snack here with my daughter. Food was nice, if a little overpriced. Place has a nice selection of gifts. Can't speak for the selection of plants as we didn't venture outside.
C. H.
We went here for a coffee. As it was fairly busy service was slow and disjointed - people served before us who entered after us, the usual annoyance! The coffee when it finally arrived was OK. However Costa doesn't have to worry about competition from here!
L. B.
Great garden centre with lots of lovely items and café is superb
K. H.
Visited last minute for lunch. Was with my mother in her Walking aid but we hadn’t booked. Only option was the outdoor area that is covered but not heated. Was ok but was raining. We had a lovely bowl of soup and got a cake to go. Would highly recommend booking. Very popular. A lot more seating areas now but all the empty tables were all booked.
Would also take a jacket incase you sit outside.
J. J.
I had previously been to this place when it was a dobbies and it was good. But what they've done to the place to make the restaurant area bigger is great- tho a bit warm because of sun. Food was delicious! Layout of the whole place is so much better than before. Definitely recommend to go here
D. B.
Well stocked, clean (including the washroom facilities that had signs with a couple of useful lines from some popular tunes to guide handwashing) and the usual helpful staff. Clear signage was in place. Overall, love visiting here..... unlike my credit card. 🤫
M. R.
Nice cafe. Good location and vibes. Seem to be extending the operation so bulldozers autumn 2019. Very tough and muddy parking but this could well improve. Plant prices seem higher than I'd expect but I've not done a careful comparison with comparable outlets so maybe I need to get real for when purchasing something specific rather than 'a good bargain'.
L. J.
Delightful garden centre with lots of gifts and plants...the restaurant meal was really tasty served well by pleasant staff..a most enjoyable few hrs.
N. M.
Lovely breakfast and nice shopping experience
A. F.
First time here and the full breakfast was brilliant.
Perfectly cooked, served promptly and the best breakfast I have ever had, and that is saying something.
h. m.
Popped in for some lunch. Great Food and Service. Lots of nice gifts. Plants looked fabulous.
J. B.
Staff always pleasant and helpful
Menu good selection. Only complaint I always have when I ask for Tea with the meal they always bring it before the meal then tea gets cold before meal arrives.
John Beresford.
d. l.
Good choice of plants. Plenty of parking
M. B.

What a lovely place to go for lunch. Food was good and the staff were very helpful I had my daughter and two grandson aged 2 with me The boys were hungry so they brought the boys dinner out very quickly to help keep them happy The menu was good with a lot of variety
M. M.
This was our first time in the new restaurant which is fantastic, much bigger and very well spaced. My husband and I had Afternoon Tea which was delicious. The service, as always, was excellent and the compliance with Covid regulations is first class. We will be back very soon.
J. K. F.
Lovely garden centre with a beautiful ambience. Wonderful selection of gifts and well presented plants, shrubs and trees. Highly recommend the restaurant with a delicious array of cakes, scones, sandwiches and hot meals.
M. A. s.
One of the nicest breakfasts we have had, AND, served on a Hot plate, so many eateries serving which is supposed to be Hot food, on a cold plate, we simply don't go back.
The staff were very good and friendly, the restaurant was spotless, and the prices were good.
Most certainly recommend going here, not just for the good food, the shop is very good also, everything you need for your garden, and more.
10/10
H. S.
Stopped in for lunch thinking that it was Dobies but has changed hands.
The garden range was vast and staff were setting up xmas displays, amazing.
Lunch was great, having mac n cheese, staff were lovely and helpful and Covid regs were followed to the letter.
G. T.
Visited to a bit apprehensive as we all are just now. So impressed to be met by a member of staff sanitizing the baskets and trolleys and every inch of the indoor floor is clearly marked for everyone's safety. Lots of space outdoor to ponder the plants with a good distance between each other. Thank you Caulders and their for the best retail experience I've had for months. Well done
J. s.
Absolutely brilliant service- review on behalf of my mother from Birmingham, Suzanne was really helpful she went the extra mile at such short notice to deliver a wonderful rose for a 50th wedding anniversary. She even wrote the card for me and sent the receipt via a lovely Christmas card.
Thank you so much ! Above and beyond !!
K. P.
Meeting a friend for breakfast and blown away with the vast improvements of the restaurant, car park and interior of the inside of the now Caulders. There has been expansions inside and out and the restaurant expansion is now with beautiful furniture and chairs. The full breakfast was delicious including a hot drink and a small orange juice. Brilliant value for money. There are beautiful gifts in the shop. The car park has expanded and still work goes on to continue with improvements. Staff are the same from Dobbies days and continue with their friendly and helpful attitude. Will definitely return again and again
C. W.
Fantastic cafe in it, food is amazing, alway find a wee bargin at this garden centre.
r.
Extremely pleasant lunch here. Deluxe smoked salmon open sandwich with salad and coleslaw. Excellent service. Booking essential.
N. H.
This garden centre has it all been remodelled and is looking amazing, one of my favourite places for coffee and scones.
C. H.
Brilliant food and great shop
c. s.
lovely shop and garden centre, the staff were all really helpful and the strawberry tarts in the cafe were the best, what a great selection of cakes. i will be back soon with the rest of the family.
A. S.
A great place for afternoon teas
J. S.
Went for breakfast this morning. It was beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful.
A. S.
Lovely breakfast and good service. Good social distancing. Nice to follow it up with wander round garden centre which is attractive and we'll stocked.
J. D.
Very nice looking resturant. Cute gifts to buy also in the garden centre. Staff very friendly also. However lunch was very expensive for what it was
T. M.
Great shop Great choices highly recommended
M. R.
I do like a visit to Caulders. Lots of nice plants and gifts etc. Always have a bit of a problem outside as can't manuover trolley over hoses. I don't know how the frail or elderly manage. Told the cashier but not sure if she was really interested 🤔. Could cause an accident.
P. S.
Stopped off here on the way to Carnoustie for The Ladies Open Golf. Had a fantastic lunch and the service was first class. Lovely garden centre as well.
A. G.
Just visited since this garden centre was taken over from Dobbies. What a transformation. It is amazing. The restaurant area is split into 3 or 4 different areas, with a seating area outside. Food is what you would expect from a Caulders garden centre...excellent. I had the cullen skink soup, really fills you up, so remember that if you want to eat one of there lovely cakes. Thoroughly recommend this place. 👍
A. W.
Very nice but extremely expensive. Garden furniture for example was often double and sometimes treble similar offerings on amazon. Well worth a visit though, if only to see how it's done.
J. M.
Very helpful and knowledgeable garden assistant Derek he was patient and kind to us amateurs. Restaurant was great the Cullen skink soup is to die for all staff very pleasant
j. m.
Friendly staff. Good food
J. C.
The breakfast was recommended by friends. Which was excellent although for some reason the fried egg was missing from the full breakfast. We returned 2 days later again for breakfast before returning south. Lovely dining area. Fell in love with the clock on the wall. I wish I had purchased it but was struggling to fit in the car. I have been scouring internet to find same but no luck. We are keen gardeners but due to travelling were unable to purchase plants this time.
S. E.
Got the big breakfast, which was very tasty and served hot. It was competitively priced, and the surroundings were clean and bright. Very pleasant members of staff. Quick service, plenty of parking spaces and stock areas tidily kept.
E. C.
Always fresh food and cakes. I recommend the meringues! Staff helpful and attentive.
J. S.
Nice to see Caulders open again. Very well stocked up inside and out. Plants a bit pricey but a good selection. Even serving take away coffee and cakes.
L. P.
Had lunch consisting of soup and a sandwich. It was delicious. We had booked a table to make sure we would get in. The restaurant has all the necessary covid protection in place. Staff were efficient and friendly.
j.
Nice staff, great selection of goods. Some unusual plants. Some quite pricey though. But i would go back. They had good store hygiene and good social distancing measures. Well done to the staff
M. M.
This was our second visit. The garden centre looks lovely and has a great selection of plants. The staff were very helpful. The cafe looks so much better and really benefits from the extra space.
D. W.
Really nice garden centre. Nice restaurant and reasonable prices. Plenty of original gift ideas.
A pleasant change from the usual chain garden centres.
a. m.
Was very quiet when I was in, there were thousands of plants outside to choose from, a huge variety. A great variety of gifts and ornaments inside and a lovely selection of artificial plants also.
L. R.
What an upgrade from the old Dobbies. Great table service restaurant, lovely staff serving the tables. The whole garden centre has taken on a complete new look and for the better. Dobbies was nice enough for a walk round, but the cafe was not that great.
J. U.
Love meeting family here during current restrictions. Fabulous decor, lovely shopping experience too. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Food is amazing. Very well organised in line with current Covid-19 restrictions. Just love it!!
D. F.
Nicely appointed restaurant. Seemed to be lots of staff about. Food was very nice when it came. But 45 minutes wait for a sandwich was ridiculous.
J. D.
Went in to the cafe for lunch, great food, great service and relatively cheap too. A walk around the shop afterwards with Christmas stock in and you'll be lost for an hour
M. K.
Dogs not allowed, but you can see why, as there's a clean, light grey carpet! Staff friendly and efficient, food fresh, good quality and generous portions. We'll be back.
P. M.
Caulders have got lovely Christmas decoration displays, autumn plants, good quality gifts and a completely refurbished café. I bought a few plants and a new set of Christmas tree lights, and I was pleased with my purchases. Highly recommended.
C. R.
My disabled wife enjoys her visits Disabled friendly, disabled toilets easy access by mobility scooter. She loves there beautiful pieces.
B. M.
Since being taken over from Dobbies the garden centre is first class. The restaurant has been updated and food is delicious. The plants and gift store have a vast selection to choose from. A must visit when in the area.
I. D.

e. b.
Such a difference from the previous owners. Beautiful food lovely items on display for buying. I certainly we ill be going there again.I do not have photos to give you. A great improvement to the area
E. M. N.
Nice friendly staff in cafe. Food was reasonably priced, good portions and very tasty.
G. T.
Very helpful staff. There's been a lot of investment into the centre since it was acquired by Caulders.
The range is much improved, the cafe is larger with better selection and they're improving parking greatly around the centre.
M. L.
Considering the challenges of recent times, Caulders still delivers on friendly service and a decent selection in the reopened tearoom. Space might be restricted at the minute, but the welcome isn't! There is a good selection of healthy plants too if your garden needs cheering up too.
J. L.
Good food and friendly staff.
K. A.
Have been to Calders a few times really well done the rooms are fantastic .food is lovely staff working hard to please all customers.
L. D.
Love visiting here and love the Christmas shop but please do something about the toilets, the smell is awful and it never changes. Maybe some Christmas potpourri in it 👍🤮
C. L.
Since being taken over by Caulders the place has seen a whole host of improvements. We mainly go for the restaurant/cafe. Their breakfasts are really good and the tea/coffee and more importantly, their cakes are on point...
H. G.
Lovely good food. very pleasant staff. Pre booking available. Lots of lovely things to shop for. Great garden centre. Ample parking.
Just off the M80 motorway.
M. T.
Lovrly food staff are always so friendly
D. O.
Well stocked garden centre. Plenty of parking. Disabled toilets etc. Their restaurant, however, not the best.. The staff are great but I have found their cakes to be less than fresh on several visits.. Following, we just tend to have a coffee when we visit.
A. S.
Beautiful shop. Enjoyed scones and tea in the barn. Wonderful atmosphere. Just starting to put Christmas decorations and gift ware out!!!
D. M.
Nice modern garden centre. This was recently taken over and done up, they done a good job. Only been in for brief visits but we will be back.
R. M.
Went for a wander on a nice day & ending up spending over £100 on plants etc for the garden.
There's a great selection of plants from the very small to the very big along with garden furniture & various gardening paraphernalia.
They had a one way system (kind of) due to Covid19 along with a person at the entrance disinfecting the trollies & baskets before use.
Unfortunately, the cafe is closed because .. well, Covid19
C.
Very nice store

Just a little expensive for me
S. C.

Garden centres today are more like twee retail emporiums, more pointless plastic than actual plants. But hey it's what the public want, isn't it?

It's a funny little warehouse garden centre. It can't compete with B&Q for prices; scale; or for garden-based DIY, but it's a nice walk around and they stock some cute pet stuff that B&Q doesn't.
A. P.
Lovely food in a nicely appointed restaurant area with attentive staff.
