Reviews of Dobbies Garden Centre Milngavie
U. D.
Lovely garden centre. But so much more. There is a large restaurant that serves a wide range of food, think of it like a Service Station restaurant and you get the idea. There is a supermarket if you need to buy your groceries with a selection of local produce. Pretty much anything you want along with a tremendous selection of plants, plant pots etc. and even a play area for Children
J. W.
Visited Dobbies Milngavie today for the first time. Hugely impressed with the set up. Staff in the restaurant could not have been more helpful. One lady in particular helped me with my tray which was greatly appreciated. I will certainly be visiting again.
S. S.
Good stock of plants and home decor items both indoors and outdoors. Lovely softplay area for kids but only downside is its limited seating arrangements and time restrictions as its very difficult to convince a kid to leave the softplay. Overall a lovely place to visit, although personally it would be a bit pricey place to buy basic decor items.
M. H.
Superb garden centre. Lots of good products for the garden but also gifts and kids stuff is nice so can often pick up good gifts. All quite expensive. The cafe is ok, very expensive for what it is e.g. £2.10 for a 330ml can of diet coke! Super soft play tho.
S. S.
Lovely morning enjoying a cake abs coffee while listening to Sam play the piano. Talented guy who is part of the Donnie’s team. Recommend a visit for a brew and a listen
C. M.
Changed the way you order food. You are seated then a waiter/waitress will come and take your order. We waited 20 mins i had to go find someone to take our order. The response i got from the girl is there is only 2 of us on to take orders. Something to look at Dobbies. Drinks came first then after 10 minutes food. Food was average.
M. C.
Always well stocked with a good variety of plants. Stocks lots of seasonal and household products. Also has an in store Sainsbury's. A nice place to shop and have a coffee.
M. D.
Called in for coffee this evening and was entertained by the fabulous Sam on piano. He really lifted the atmosphere and put a smile on every face. 😄
J. H.
Great soft play for younger children. Coffee and scones very nice although cheese scone not very cheesy
S.
Went there to get some carnivorous plants which they have great selection of at this time of the year with reasonable prices.
Over all with Dobbies they have really huge selection of indoors and outdoors plants and gardening tools..
As a plant lover this is one of my favourite place to visit .
Staff are friendly and helpful, as my self a cashless person Android pay and contactless payment is available there ..
d. a. m.
Popped in for a coffee with ma mum and sister. Love having a walk round the garden centre it is massive.
Good place to go for a bargain.
c. m.
3 stars as shop very gd, very tidy, slight expensive, lots of parking inc. Sainsbury's shop.
Cafe on other hand seemed organised chaos as there was 1 lady showing people to tables but just seemed as though she had no clue as I seen her wandering bewildered with customers , we of course were just getting coffees to take away but 1 person making teas & coffees aswell as serving too multiple staff going about tidying tables & taking orders but who would know who had been attended & unattended? There were no numbers on tables etc. Just seemed mayhem & disorganized...
M. W.
Visited Santa today with my 2 sons, the santa is the most realistic I've seen, he's warm and welcoming & really good with the kids my 3 year old loved it and is even more excited now for Christmas! Great experience thankyou dobbies & thankyou Santa
C. K.
Was in this morning for breakfast after our work's night out and the waitress looked at me after I ordered and seen horrific look on my face when my filled bagel arrived clearly not the order with the hangover from hell but girl couldn't have been any more helpful changing it for full breakfast great service from jen the red shoed waitress
c. d.
Airy, well laid out, spotlessly clean. Very good quality plants and shrubs, and all things garden. Great pet food and accessories section, some really lovely home furnishings accessories too.
The best thing about the shop is DOGS ARE WELCOME!!! I so wish more retail establishments allowed dogs.
I. M.
Our first visit to this Dobbies in Milngavie. We were very impressed with the size of the car park. Plenty of spaces including a line of spaces for wheel chair users. A wheelchair accessible ramp got us into the outlet. An excellent range of products for the home and garden. The restaurant was not too busy when we visited but there were plenty of staff on duty and we had no problem getting a suitable table. Clean and modern washrooms. Everywhere was wheelchair accessible and for customers who have a Dobbies plus card 20%off most items.
S. S.
Best Santa (and elves) we have visited.
Soft play good as well. Book ahead.
M. M.
I Have been a regular customer at Dobbies for many years and have found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating, both in the restaurant and store. I think they did a great job throughout the covid period when we were all trying to navigate the rules and regulations. I especially like that Sam is now back playing the piano again. A nice touch to the atmosphere. Well done to everyone involved.
J. H.
Took at visit to Dobbies Milngavie today. Nice big garden centre with lots to see. Love being able to go places with my dog. Great wee area at restaurant to take her too. My only criticism would be the "small" bowls of soup. I made mention of it to the staff. I had been at Dobbies Braehead two days before and got a decent bowl of soup there so expected the same size at Milngavie. To small a portion for £5.40.
W. S.
Served today by a lovely young girl called Alex in the garden centre....she helped me pick plants and filled plantars I had brought in....once filled she loaded them up and carried and then packed into my car...she was just amazing so helpful and friendly and a credit to Dobbies....5 star service so thanks again Alex ....
P. K.
Excellent garden centre with a nice big cafe. Lots of staff on hand but didnt feel it was laid out well for a first timer not knowing where anything was.
We ate in the cafe & had a pizza & meringue.. Both of which were delicious!
Our daughter had a play in the little park which only consisted of a climbing frame and slide but she loved herself!
J. G.
No hot food avaliable at 2.30pm so poor experience in that regard
J. M.
A huge garden centre stocking everything from teapots to tea roses. Well stocked with shrubs, trees, seasonal flowers and vegetables. Just about everything for the garden.
We enjoyed lunch in the restaurant and was treated to Sam playing the piano. The restaurant is well maintained and offers a good selection of toasties, sandwiches and main course dishes. There is a Sainsbury's there too.
Th
Staff were polite and helpful. There is also a small Sainsbury's
J. S.
More than just a Garden Centre, this could be a venue for a day out. Lovely restaurant, outdoor area, plants, bulbs and seeds. Also, garden tools, clothes, furniture, kitchenware, bird feeders etc..
The Farm Shop has gone now - instead, there is an in-store Sainsbury.
Not a budget version of Sainsbury's .
Look out for the plants on the clearance shelves...some real bargains to be had here.
The loyalty (Plus) card is definitely worth having!
R. E.
Nice store very clean inside. Prices are fair and the selection is great. No produce in this store. If you need veggies you'll need to go somewhere for that.
W. H.
Cafe serves nice food and fab cakes. Pretty sure you can organise an afternoon tea. Sometimes there's a piano player too which is quite nice. Kids soft play is ideal for toddlers and younger children. Kids lunch deal is a wee bit pricey for what you actually get (in my opinion).
A.
Very quiet on our visit and looks like new season displays still to come.
Reduced plants and seeds seemed a good buy. Courteous staff at check out.
Plenty of free parking space.
M. D.
Hadn't been in for a long time and the changes are fantastic , there's so much more than just things for the garden , I could have spent all day and all my money if I hadn't been with someone to stop me lol .
Great size car park , staff are so friendly and helpful , we we in the restaurant and after a customer left everything was sanitised before another customer sat down , mask are still require and social distancing is still in force .
It's one stop shopping, or a good afternoon out .
Y. M.
Breakfast set up has changed, there seemed to be a problem choosing which items you wanted in your 5 or7 item breakfast. I cannot see why this should be. By the time we discussed this with our server breakfast was lukewarm.
J. S.
It has a Sainsbury’s inside. It has a good soft play area (good for kids 8 and under).
It sells lots of great stuff including Christmas trees and plants.
Try the restaurant! Seriously try it!
The food is great: breakfast, lunch and even the cakes on offer are all gooooood!
R. L.
Well have now visited all Dobbies around scotland, and find them all excellent for a quick snack or meal.
Also very good garden plants, and all things needed for gardening.
Great to browse all other departments, not forgetting they now have Sainsbury's food in-store.
R. M.
Had a lovely breakfast and sat in the conservatory area, then a wander round the shop. Amazing selection of plants and garden furniture. Well stocked, friendly staff and clean toilets.
D. O.
Very disappointed with visit today. Food was OK, service was unhelpful. Bakery section was definitely below par with limited fresh stuff available
I. W.
Restaurant/cafe has changed for some reason. Now table service and it's slow.
Step backwards in my opinion
K. R.
It was slow to get your coffee and the cherry scone - well it was the wrong choice - lucky if there was half a cherry in the whole scone. Come on dobbues you can do better.
B. H.
Good venue for plants, gifts and tea room. Plenty of space to get around and view so many products.
M. D.
Great. This was one of my first outings since my husband car out of hospital last August. I thoroughly enjoyed being there with one of my friends for coffee. Thank you.
D. M.
The best part of this dobbies is the soft play. Sadly the cafe is very mediocre otherwise.
D. 9.
Great shop good helpful staff variety of plants and herbs, just a well run joint.
S.
At dobbies cafe known for the fantastic cakes none today the only reason I came settled for a scone ordered a late the couple 8n front got lovely handmade coffee I got rubbish out the machine charged the same when asked the surly girl told me its the same coffee. I can assure you it tastes nothing like a handmade coffee.the staff could do with a better attitude 🤔🤔🤔
A. P.
My first meal out since February. I found the preparations quickly gave me confidence. Staff were most helpful and friendly.
We went early on Sunday and enjoyed a full breakfast.
Will go again.
B.
I'm thinking that Dobbies didn't want to risk planting too many bedding plants, in case they weren't able to start selling them before the season was over. The variety was not there, if you want pansies, there were loads of colours. I understand but after queuing, in the cold, for 30-40 minutes, it was a tad disappointing.
Having said that, I was able to get everything I wanted and a couple things I didn't know I wanted until I saw them (anyone else remember the squiggly fluffy worms on fishing line? Yep, got one of those for my teenage son so he knows the joy of running it through his fingers).
E. B.
We went today for the Afternoon Tea with Prosecco and it was one of the best afternoon teas we have had.. Delicious bite sized portions.. We tried the Vegan version and the regular and both were lovely.. Would highly recommend and cafe in general was very organised with clear floor markings and one way system.
S. W.
Spacious parking area, wide range of garden products. Interesting food area and a lovely restaurant with great coffee ☕
W. G.
I haven't been for a while so was very disappointed today to discover that Sainsbury had taken over the in shopping area. Whoever thought this was a good idea needs their head examined. We can shop anytime at Sainsburys. Before you had a nice bakery section and a lovely delicatessen which had a great cheese section and nice fresh produce. Now its more or less just stuff you can buy anytime in Sainsburys. Although its a very well laid out section it was still very disappointing to see the change and not enough to entice me to travel to Dobbies any more.
The restaurant area was much the same overpriced poor quality food as before.
Out of three people one got a lovely Lasagne and nice chips, one got a dry offering of mac and cheese, and I got a burnt offering with dry meat which was supposed to be a cheese and ham toastie.
It was the usual long queue for teas and coffee with one person serving. Overall very disappointing. I'm sorry but I'm afraid I won't be back.
L. M.
We went to Dobbie’s on Sunday for tea and cake. The service was really great the girl Kat went above and beyond to make sure our coffee was just how we liked it.
The staff are very friendly and would recommend anyone to go there.
J. K.
It was quieter than usual probably due to obeying Hogmanay and other things. We had coffee and scones which were great! Thank you
H. G.
Enjoyed my treacle scone and coffee.
My scone was fresh this time, not always.
The potholes in the car park are very dangerous and should've been rectified when the area was closed during lockdown. These are hazardous and will cause an accident.
C. W.
Seems a bit pricey compared to other places, plants generally look in good condition though
R. T.
Well stocked. Pleasant staff. Decent for food. Hot and tasty. I recommend the bacon and cheese quiche and the steak and mushroom pie: though not at the same time! Perhaps a little overpriced but a nice place to spend a couple of hours. Nice views of the Campsies from the front of the building.
g. m.
Great quality products, sometimes a bit pricey, however, you get what you pay for. Anyway, there's always a bargain to be had somewhere in-store if you look. Café great for soups and sandwiches and a separate area to sit with your dog to eat. With the exception of the foodhall the whole place is 🐕 friendly. Fantastic. All staff I've found to be knowledgeable about the products, courteous, friendly and professional. It's a great store that you can enter with no intentions of buying anything in particular, but just wander about happily looking at stuff. When there are queues outside due to Covid 19 I don't suggest that brousing behaviour at present, although the good times should be back soon. Great selection of plants and outdoor items 👍
D. A.
Dobbies is a good garden centre there are always good quality. If you are willing to pay for them quite expensive.
E. S.
Went with my granddaughter to see santa. Fabulous. Amazing people. Great job. Would recommend
L. l.
Nipped in to buy some plants but all sold out.Told new batch in on Friday.Had a look round the fancy goods and some nice things. Also looked at garden furniture outside lights etc.All very pricey.
m.
Great place for plants and sheds more...get it? Well anyway, great time walking about a well stocked shop. 👍
S. M.
The restaurant / coffee shop sells quality food and the staff are pleasant and couldn't be more helpfull.
B. a.
Booked afternoon tea for three online and today had problem with service and waited 40mins for tea to arrive .
Right away staff apologized and made sure rest of afternoon was perfect.
Food was delicious and all enjoyed then staff refunded the money I paid online .
Outstanding customer service and I thank staff and management I will be back before returning to Australia and rest of family will continue coming here .
Thanks very much Alistair .
M. M.
Dobbies all festive and lovely. They do Christmas very well. Plenty of ideas. Easy parking. Great cafe.
a. r.
Absolutely love this store.Such a huge range and variety of everything you could imagine and reasonably priced too.And their Christmas range is gorgeous. Staff as always friendly and efficient. Always a pleasure to shop here.
P. B.
Cracking big garden store with a massive variety of plants, herbs and all things garden related. Quality goes without saying and the staff are really helpful with a good broad brushed knowledge of horticulture.
S. M.
Great garden centre.
We went up today as novice gardeners looking for some advice specific to our garden. Member of staff Carol Pollock spent time taking us through our options and what would work best, she couldn't have been more helpful. Made a couple of purchases on Carol's advice and will be planted this afternoon.
We now have a plan which we'll carry out over the summer. It's the first time I have came away from a garden centre feeling clearer about what we want to do.
L.
Fantastic restaurant with friendly helpful staff. Gets very busy on Tuesday as it's "pensioners " day. However you can still find room. Good food as well. If you haven't already got membership "Dobbies Garden Club" it's worth the fee as you get money off plants, reward nights and points that convert to vouchers to spend in store. Well worth a visit.
Sadly that was 6 months ago! Ask me today 30th May 2018 and all I can say is oh dear what a difference there is compared with then! I would seriously have to reduce my stars to TWO. honesty is the best policy. If it improves then I will re review. My view is tell the truth and shame the devil!
c. s.
Great selection of plants and good value with 20% off voucher.
A. L. G.
Always worth a visit, great selection of plants and garden supplies.
Restaurant is very nice and reasonably priced.
C. Y.
Went to get lunch, saw they had a BBQ so hgav it a shot as it was cheaper than the cafe food.
Young lad and girl on duty on Sunday 3rd June at 1425hrs were lovely with great banter. Think the lads missed his calling in life! Great burger too. Novel and well priced.
d. n.
Easy to find the way in. Easy to find what I needed. Had to pop out and back in with a couple of trollies. Quick and easy to pay in a well organized queue. Staff friendly and helpful as always. Will be back
j. c.
Well stocked , great cafe, and a young guy played Fairytale in NewYorkon the piano while we were in the cafe, he was a member of staff I think as he had an apron on, he played amazingly. No music sheet, he just played it brilliantly.
Loads of great ideas for Christmas decorations, and a bit up the top of car park with all there out houses. Enjoyed going round the whole place.
A. B.
This was a quick visit staff friendly and helpful. I will give three stars but I will return to scrutinise it more throughly.
M. M.
A few years ago, I purchased extensive and varied garden equipment, containers, plants, flowers, soil and all including three half wooden barrels planters!!! I now am updating matters after about fifteen years, and have to say .....they all lasting really excellences, except one half barrel.....and my rose bushes, and conifer evergreen thriving!!! I even get small Posey cuttings of roses in the summer, from my back garden, court!!! So.... thank you to the company concerned, and here's to more decades of green finger delights!!! At one point I had a bird-house, and cherry blossom, and apple, crab tree, but some seem to have disappeared.... strange is it not???!!! Then again, I have been convalescing, and recuperating, therefore, unavailable to tend as thoroughly...as I would have liked..... nonetheless, thanks so very much indeed, again, as it made a very vast loveliness of incredibly high difference!!!! Will be endeavouring to get it back in shape, bloom fully, and might do some additional information horticulture, wild flowers, meadow style again asap on researching completion!!! Have a very nice morning, and spring showers to bring forth lots of flowers, and happy bulbs, shrubs, gardening and sowing ....mowing and most of all a well earned relaxation point with deck chair, cool iced drinks, eventually????..
J. D.
Great range of products and brilliant cafe, now open for business. Lots of bargains in every department, friendly and helpful staff, well worth a look.
N. B.
Staff piano player was particularly entertaining.
H. D.
Good choice of products and good restaurant.
R. R.
Good disabled parking and large parking lot. The access to all the areas (Food Hall, Café, Books etc.) are good. The Christmas decorations are really impressive. It is a bit pricey.
I. K.
My friend and I visited Debbie's Garden Centre today with my grandson. We had fun looking at the well stocked shelves in the food section of the store. My visit gave me food for thought about Christmas and Halloween great experience. Issy king
N. G.
Staff are excellent and their knowledge is great for the house plants I was looking for. Lovely selection of outdoor plants too and lovely to be back in a garden centre
C. T.
Pleasant atmosphere. Nice candle smells -- interesting selection of plants and gifts .cafe has huge selection of lovely cakes etc. Baguettes / sandwiches poorly presented and overpriced however.
E. A.
I had coffee with friends and enjoyed it. I was there for the Christmas meal on 16th Nov and on way out a lovely young assistant ( Nicole) spoke to us. She was so pleasant and chatty and made us feel that we were important to her. She is an absulute asset to your company. She made our evening. Please thank her. Eleanor Atkinson
J. A.
Very organised. Went too far before with seat spacing but back to a sensible distance. Nice food hard working staff
M. S.
Went to have a look at some shed.
They have a good selection of sizes for all budgets.
In addition the amount of clothing and general non gardening products is huge.
From candles to toys, mirrors to crockery.
It also has a large restaurant serving both teas coffees and cakes but also hot foods like baked potatos and pizza.
The is also a food store where you can pick up some of the finer food products that you can't get in Aldi or Lidl.
G. M.
Always good quality merchandise, attractive restaurant, food good and all staff very pleasant and helpful at Dobbiies.
J. V.
Great garden centre. Plenty to choose from. Staff polite & friendly. Couldn't ask for a better experience.
J. B.
Long wait for the restaurant. Only one person serving tea and coffee. Queue was very long nearly at the tills .
J. M.
Since management changes staffing seems to have reduced. The plant availability has decreased. The aquatic fish centre has been removed as have most of the water garden features.
V. G.
Just had afternoon tea with Santa and I am absolutely delighted with the whole experience so much better value than the very disappointing Elfingrove . Santa was great and very realistic just like miracle on 34th Street. Staff very friendly and helpful too xxx
J. B.
Always a nice place to get our garden bits and pieces. Lovely staff, very helpful.
E. T.
Nice place but pretty expensive.
L. G.
Huge centre for all sorts of shopping. Great choice of plants, shrubs and all things gardening....nice and roomy to shop in. Very helpful staff members, would recommend.
I. M.
Great selection of plants and gardening supplies. The building supplies can be a bit pricey. Good store with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff.
B. L.
Yet another enjoyable lunch at Dobbies Milngavie last week. Quality of plants first class can't leave without buying something. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable.
A. A.
Although older, I much prefer this branch compared to the one in Braehead. Larger and therefore broader range of goods. The aquarium shop also has knowledgeable staff.
a.
Well laid out. Always busy. Especially the restaurant. Toilets could do with a handyman to fix dropping doors and loose toilet seats.
G. M.
Not too busy which made shopping a bit easier. Plenty of free parking when we arrived during school hours.
m. m.
Great store for shopping, lunch or coffee, terrific staff.Yesterday when I was having lunch a staff member was playing the piano. He was fantastic, really added that bit extra to an already lovely afternoon.Spoke to him,I think he is called Sam,amazing on the piano and a lovely, friendly guy,a credit to the company.I look forward to my next visit and hope Sam is playing the piano the next time I go,great service.
P. G.
Nice place to spend a hour or 2. went for coffee and cake very disappointed cake's are huge to match there prices wouldn't have minded if they had been any good chocolate cake was dry and the scones were also and served with s sinthetic cream and not clotted cut down the portions and serve quality
A. L.

A. M.
Fantastic range and you will need to exercise some fiscal self control if ]you go alone.... Plus there is lovely food and and Edinburgh Woolen Mill!
D. G.
Spacious eating place varied menu friendly staff
M. B.
Great place to go for coffee and cake! Fresh cream scones are two for the price of one. Delicious!
D.
A little pricey for some of the novelty items but one of the few garden centres I know that is a joy rather than a chore to browse round. Plenty to keep the kids going too.
K. L.
Shelves looked a bit empty. Food as usual was great.
M. M.
Great quality plants. Good range.
M. M.
Very good good reduced food and nice cheese boards reduced.shame the coffee isnt available.

A. M.
I love the garden center but the price of plants is far too expensive for me.
J. H.
It wasn't the best visit I've had. There was a powercut and the store was still kept open but the staff still did a great job serving the public.
J. W.
Staff were lovely and quality of flowers very good
E. H.
Coffees were expensive (as expected), but the experience and staff was pleasant.
B. G.
All staff extremely helpful
K. C.
Good garden centre with restaurant. Covid rules followed. Helpful staff
C. H.
Not my usual Dobbies but just as go, quick lunch as well
M.
Well organised for Covid rules, staff very friendly, quieter than usual at 4.00pm.
D. C.
30 minute wait for the cafe, although plenty of clean tables and space inside.
A. M.
I personally don't see the appeal but the elderly seem to love this place! Big selection of homewares is good.
E. N.
Just visited the restaurant but excellent tray bakes and cakes. Will be going back to try the others on offer.
m. b. 7.
Love dobbies great place. Lovely things especially at christmas. Good coffee shop and lovely homemade cakes.
A. H.
Nice place to buy some plants, but lack of fruit trees there
J. A.
Good range of garden stuff but also gifts, homeware, an aquatic centre and a well-stocked food hall.
R. C.
Ok but more expensive than B&Q and Pets at home. The cafe makes up for the costly odds n ends on fisplay.
s. m.
Love dobbies great food and drink ok prices and garden stuff not bad either lol . aquarium also worth a visit.
R. W.
Great choice of plants and garden equipment. Also a nice place to wander around!

Good food well served but still a bit on the pricey side
S. K.

W. E.
A very good place to visit . They have an excellent restaurant and have a wide variety of goods and plants for sale.
T. L.
Good selection of plants, gifts and homewares. Nice food and wine to buy as well.
H. C.
Beautiful Christmas store inside the place with a lovely spicy smell from the pine cones. A lovely place any time.
H. M.
Very good cafeteria. Many of the products on sale are at the top end of the market and so are quite expensive
D.
Too late for summer bedding plants, not their fault, a horrible situation but I wasn't impressed with what was available.
L. M.
Avoid the restaurant, the food is poor and grossly overpriced. The rest is ok... pretty much what you'd expect from a Dobbies.
S. W.
Great place for lunch whilst you are shopping for your garden, Santa comes at Christmas time as well :)
E. D.
Always full of nice things but still bit more expensive than other nurseries.
F. N.
Friendly and helpful staff but very empty shelves due to Christmas buying frenzy!
m. k.
Lot's of plants and shrubs look as if they should be in a sale because of their condition
A. H.
Good garden centre excellent selection of plants and equipment unfortunately the prices are steep
T. M.
Nice food hall, courteous staff, excellent aquarium section. Garden centre speaks for itself.
B. T.

Today in Glasgow we had high winds and sweeping rain again, which leaves even the best of us somewhat discombobulated. With a sensory booster in mind I headed to dobbies Garden centre in Milngavie. I picked up three plants the ponsietta you see in the background I got in Tesco bought Christmas. The secret to keeping them alive, is a draft free area and a consistent temperature. Among some of my friends we have a game to see who can keep their poinsettia’s alive the longest. I did actually see poinsettia plant food, but figured that’s kind of cheating, so I just left it. They have an expansive selection and I think an unrivalled range of goodies. Having a Sainsbury’s in situ gives it an extra bonus point. I probably would have preferred to give this garden centre three stars -only because the prices are richly and purposefully elevated, but Dobbies is in a great location and once again you get what you pay for,so I stuck with four stars.
The staff were friendly and super helpful. A decent lunch can be had in the restaurant, but I didn’t try. The menu looked Ok. Several delightful ladies in the twilight years (I’d bet retired teachers), were sipping afternoon tea while resisting the temptation to “gulp doon the sannys “ in order to get to the cakes. Cackled and snorted with reminiscent vigour. It was nice to hear laughter on such a driech day

Probably bad timing but it did look like the end of the day at a jumble sale in some areas. Some were fine. The cafe setup was just weird. We were segregated into whether we wanted a meal or cake and you weren't allowed to sit in the other section. The hostess at the door talked about keeping control of it...just weird . The only vegan thing was packets of 2 tiny Oreos which was really sad as I skipped breakfast so I could partake in a cake. Mum did enjoy hers though. The service was a bit slow too, with only 1 person serving. Thankfully we got in before the rush. Usually a garden centre is a safe bet for a coffee and cake but I won't rush back.
