P. M.Massive place with a huge range of plants, pots, furniture and absolutely anything you might need for your garden large or small.
I also like the history board showing how the business started and developed.
D. 1.How Saturday Mornings have changed in my forties. Fewer hang overs and more time spent in the garden centre and garden than nightclubs and dive bars. My wife and I have been landscaping our back garden over the past few years and have been taking some notes whilst binging on Gardeners World and Your Garden Made Perfect. No hot tubs and trampolines here. This garden centre / nursery is truly amazing but can be overwhelming (in a good way) if you don’t go with a list, or a plan. We knew what we wanted and the staff working were super friendly and a great help. Very reasonably priced, amazing selection of well cared for shrubs, trees and annuals and not a fridge magnet or personalised mug in site! Thoroughly recommend losing yourself here for a morning. You won’t be disappointed!

S. D.What a huge variety of beautiful plants. They also have a few many shelves full of preserved foods and milk products. Lots of clay pots and massive tree planting vases too. The staff is helpful and they give you these booklets with names and prices of the plants you come across as you tour the nursery. I got loads of flowering plants in wee pots and was shocked how it was all well within my budget. I could even go have a hearty meal at a nice restaurant, on my way back home, with massive savings.

J. H.What a wonderful place to visit. You could spend an entire day here. The only issue we found was that so many items had no prices on them, like hundereds of them. Im sure you could ask but you would be pestering them your whole visit. Still.....can't wait to go back.
E. T.An enormous garden center which specialises in trees, grasses and herbaceous plants. Incredible choice in each area where you could spend most of a day browsing. They have lots of bedding and garden furniture too. One thing I would not head here for is vegetable plants, the few times I've been here they were in poor condition and pretty ropey quality. Every year, September has a 25% off sale for the whole month.
T. L.Wandered in before posted opening hours on a Sunday morning and we were warmly greeted and given amazing customer service. Such a vast amount of knowledge was shared with us specific to our tiny townhouse garden and we left very happy customers with happy plants and trees too!

J. R.A true gardener's dream. McLaren's is massive! There's so much variety and they also stock a lot of bigger trees and shrubs that smaller garden centres can't.
They focus on plants and not cafés, gift shops and presentation like all other garden centres these days, so don't go here if you're hoping for that kind of garden centre. This is a plant paradise.
Helpful staff, better prices than most garden centres and you can always get plants 'out of season' and not just what's in bloom/at its best right now.
TOP TIP: If you're visiting for the first time, there are price lists available at the entry. It's easy to miss these and if you don't grab one it can be frustrating without as many plants aren't individually priced!
W.Amazing place with helpful staff, huge variety of plants! I cannot get enough of the wee shop selling produce, they have selection of fruit and veg, beautiful glass bottled milk and selection of all sorts of interesting locally sourced foods. Love it!!!

M. K.We've been creating a garden at the rear of the house for around four years and when the landscapers remodelled it initially we went to McLaren's to pick the plants to get us started. Each year as we add more plants we go back to them because everything we have bought has always been healthy from the outset and have established themselves well in our garden. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable enough to answer any questions we have.
For us, McLaren's is a 30 mile round trip but the quality and variety of their plants is worth it.
R. C.A great selection of shrubs, we were to early for flowers but in saying that when we were there last year in early summer the selection of flowers was endless, they also sell a great fertiliser called Vital X6, if you want beautiful flowers or fruit trees this is the one for you,and plenty of parking.

M. D. (.Wow, it's huge! And have no idea why I have never heard of it. From trays of lobelia to £4000 olive trees ! Only reason for not 5*, is we were there that long, really needed a coffee and despite being directed to where we could get one, we couldn't find it. But prob just covid restrictions and will be better soon 🤞Not for the faint hearted, this is a very serious garden centre 🙂

T. C.Stunning collection of plants, very knowledgeable staff. Even if you are not buying it is worth visiting just to see the huge selection of plants. Seedlings through to mature trees. It is definitely not a garden center, if you want piles of books no one wants, tat gifts and overpriced cafe then go somewhere else.

It isnt Dobbies with gift and coffee shop but whar you can get is good value for your pound, great healthy plants and a satisfaction that you are doing something good for yourself and the environment.
